Persuasive Essay About School Uniforms
Crafting a persuasive essay on the subject of school uniforms is no simple task. The topic itself is
quite contentious, sparking debates among educators, students, and parents. To compose a
compelling piece, one must navigate through a myriad of arguments, counterarguments, and
nuanced perspectives.
Firstly, delving into the research phase requires sifting through a plethora of studies, articles, and
opinions to gather substantial evidence. The challenge lies in selecting reliable sources that
present a balanced view, as the school uniform debate is often fueled by emotional reactions. The
writer must not only understand the various stances on the issue but also critically assess the
credibility of the information.
Next, constructing a coherent and logical argument demands meticulous planning. Organizing
thoughts and ideas in a way that captivates the reader's attention while maintaining a persuasive
tone can be a formidable challenge. The writer must navigate the delicate balance between
presenting facts and appealing to the emotional aspect of the audience.
Moreover, addressing counterarguments and potential objections is an essential component of a
persuasive essay. Anticipating opposing viewpoints and effectively refuting them requires
intellectual agility and a thorough understanding of the subject matter. Striking the right balance
between acknowledging different perspectives and reinforcing one's own stance is a delicate art
that demands precision.
Furthermore, crafting a compelling introduction and conclusion that leave a lasting impression
adds another layer of complexity. The writer must encapsulate the essence of their argument in a
way that grabs the reader's attention from the outset and leaves a thought-provoking impact at
the essay's conclusion.
In conclusion, writing a persuasive essay on the topic of school uniforms is undeniably
challenging. It demands a deep understanding of the subject, extensive research, critical thinking
skills, and the ability to articulate a compelling argument. However, with dedication and careful
planning, one can navigate through the complexities of this debate and produce a persuasive
piece that engages readers and effectively communicates the author's perspective.

White Nose Syndrome Essay
White nose syndrome is a fungus that grows on hibernating bats muzzles that has
killed nearly 6 million of them. Although traditionally found in most if not all
eastern states, bats in caves as far south as Mississippi, as far west as Oklahoma,
and as far north as Canada have been found with the devastating fungus. Infecting 47
species of bats, the disease was first noticed in the winter of 2006 2007 in New York,
because of the odd behavior of the bats. It was later discovered that the fungus,
Pseudogymnoascus destructans, causes infected bats to exhibit uncommon behavior
such as flying during the day. Scientist have discovered that this fungus, which
distributed hydration cycles, caused the bats to awake early during hibernation in
order... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rangers at the Mammoth Cave National Park took very seriously the prospect of
human transmission of White Nose syndrome to their bat populations and took
several preventative measures to stop the spread of it. All the visitors were
screened to see if the fungus was on their cloths, shoes, or accessories as they
entered the park. Although they took these preventative measures, they were
unable to stop the fungus from infiltrating their populations. Bats in areas of the
cave that the average visitor was not permitted to explore began showing signs of
having the disease in about 2013, proving it was not introduced by humans. To
somewhat contain the fungus, visitors, as they leave, they walk across bio
hazardous mats, which collects the dirt from people s shoes where the fungus
harbors. Because humans are one of the two known carriers of the fungus, this
measure was introduced in the hopes that they will not take with them the fungus
as they return to their home. Having already begun to spread west from its east
coast roots, using these protocols could delay the western expansion of the fungus.
The rangers also have geography on their side. The vast open plans that separate
the national park from the mountains on the west coast will also serve as a buffer
in the spread. If the fungus can be contained, scientist will have an easier time
studying its effects allowing for a speedier recovery of the bats, a species who
desperately needs our
Herbert s Dune
Moreover, the dominant theme within Frank Herbert s Dune is the theme of
ecology. Not only did Herbert focus on environmental ecology but, he also included
social, political, economic, and language ecologies. The term ecology deputes one
of the basic divisions of biology (Logan 51). Ecology is the study of the structure
and dynamics of the biological processes that compose and sustain the earth s
ecosystem (Logan 52). Within the ecology article, Logan orates the basic premises of
an ecological interpretation which include that all forms of life exist in co dependent
relationships, nature is lively rather than still, stability of nature depends on
assortment, and nature is fragile and limited. Pardot Kynes was an Imperial

There are Messianic symbols, paradise, rituals, and commandments. The Fremen of
Arrakis practiced a religion most commonly related to Hymn to Water which is a
direct copy from the Orange Catholic Liturgical Manual, calling for rain clouds
which Arrakis had never seen. There are five religious beliefs that were dominant
within the Imperium and each had major events that shaped their beliefs. The first
was The followers of the Fourteen Sages and whose views are expressed in the
Commentaries and other literature produced by the Commision of Ecumencial
Translators (Dune 811). The second was the Bene Gesserit which denied being a
religion but the entire premise of the Bene Gesserit school was collectively a
religion. The third was the agnostic ruling class which included the Guild. These
people though of religion as a mere game to keep the populations obedient. These
same people believed that all phenomena could be diminished to unconscious
explanations. The fourth is the Ancient teachings that have been collectively

Much that was called religion carries an unconscious attitude of hostility toward
life. True religion must teach that life is filled with joys pleasing to the eye of
God, that knowledge without action is empty. All men must see that the teaching of
religion by rules and rote is largely a hoax. The proper teaching is recognized with
ease. You can know it without fail because it awakens within you that sensation that
tells you this is something you ve always known (Dune 818). One of the largest
symbols of religion within the novel is the Muad Dib which ended up being Paul

Management And Shareholder Objectives For Performance
Controls
A company performs many processes to reach management and shareholder
objectives for performance. The control processes of the firm are in place to
minimize risks and monitor the processes that result in final financial statement
figures. The following is a list and description of the 10 controls that we have
identified as being currently used in the Athens, Ohio Wendy s location.
1.Review of POS This control is partially a response to the use of an inadequate POS
system in use at the location. Management reviews the transactions in the system to
ensure that the transactions have occurred. The system is also reviewed to ensure
that the inventory recorded on the system exists. The POS system helps keep track
of all cost of goods sold and revenues. We have assessed that the level of risk related
to this control is high due to the outdated nature of the system being used. This
control mitigates the risk of inaccuracy in the system s figures for financial
statements. This control improves the completeness and occurrence assertions for the
financial statements.
2.Inventory Count Verification Management counts inventory twice a day to verify
that the inventory recorded on the books matches the inventory stored in the facility.
This activity can be used to detect the unauthorized removal of inventory from the
establishment. The general manager consults the lower level managers about the
counts to double check if the figures are correct. We have assessed the risk
Effects And Effects Of Acid Rain And Its Effects
Acid Rain: its Effect
Acid rain refers to precipitation that is more acidic (having lower pH levels) than
average. In more detail, acid rain is a type of precipitation that has mixtures of wet
and dry materials coming from the atmosphere, which includes more nitric and
sulphuric acids (Conserve Energy Future: Acid Rain). Acid rain can also be written
as Acid Deposition because the acid rain could come down as other precipitation, for
instance, snow. This became a worldwide problem due to the effects it can have on
land, aquatic ecosystems, buildings, vegetation and more. The acidity of the acid rain
will distort the pH levels and break down the elements to harm whatever this type of
precipitation touches.
First things first, what is a pH level? The pH level is short for potential hydrogen,
and the level is used to find the acidity of an aqueous solution. The scale ranges
from zero to fourteen, and seven being the most neutral level in the scale. The higher
the level (over level 7), it contains more oxygen, and more alkaline it is. Lower the
level (below level 7), it becomes more acidic and contains less oxygen. Do not
think that dropping one level in the pH scale won t make a big difference, ...the pH
scale is a logarithmic measure. This means that every pH change of one is a tenfold
change in acid content. ( Acid Rain: The Environment ). Rain, for instance, should be
around 5.3 to 6.0 pH level of acidity, a little acidic but not too much to harm things
drastically.
Elementary Social Studies Methods Tina C. Denning
Final ELED 424 Elementary Social Studies MethodsTina C. Denning
At the beginning of this term the beliefs statements were as follows:
1) Social Studies is a social relationship in a number of studies (history, geography,
etc.). Noting a past of memorization of dates and names, and no relevance therefore,
nothing was memorable or had any importance.
2) How I want to teach social studies? Taking information and making it fun so
students can remember it longer and using groups not limiting ourselves to textbooks.
3) Dates are important and dates are not important. History has importance but not
every date and in an age of instant information knowing how to find the needed
information and correct information is vital.
4) Find Relevance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These 4 beliefs are more important now because of the short amount of time that was
spent in a 4th grade classroom. Combining the two sets of beliefs will be shown in a
new social studies belief statement.
1) Meaningful Relevance: In practicum the lesson was citizenship and the three
branches of government. To make this meaningful to the students and then relevant
was impressive. Mrs. Anderson asked the core of the lesson plan on the first three
days to give the basics. This was relatively easy and the students made it easier by
doing their jobs and learning. On day four, Mrs. Anderson walked the students
through the process of how a bill becomes a law. She divided the students into the
House of Representatives, Congress, and a President. She provided bills that
lobbyist wanted to be a law. She guided them through a bill becoming a law and a
vetoed bill. The students were 100% actively engaged and enjoying the lesson. She
knew the students and how to divide them up and how to both engage them, keep
them engaged and still teach a meaningful/relevant lesson.
This is the top of the belief list because it is something that is also not limited to just
social studies. Attempts were made to include this in practicum but it is something
that will take some time. The engagement part may be easy but maintaining the
energy takes more than just showing up with an activity but making it meaningful for

Although Higher Education Institutions Are Aware That...
Although higher education institutions are aware that approximately half of all
college enrollees are non traditional students, some colleges and universities have yet
to provide resources that will increase accessibility and affordability to such a delicate
population (Panacci, 2015). Non traditional students can bear one to seven
characteristics: part time enrollee, financially independent, full time worker,
enrollment delay of greater than one year past high school graduation, having
dependents, single parent, or no high school diploma or GED (Kazis, R., Callahan,
A., Davidson, C., McLeod, A., Bosworth, B., Choitz, V., Hoops, J., 2007). The
spectrum of non traditional continues from minimally to highly including minimally,

Statistics Currently, 44 % of the United States post secondary education students
are made up of non traditional students over the age of 24 (Kazis et. al, 2007). In
2004, over 60% of the United States population between the ages of 25 64 who had
no post secondary education credentials (Kazis et. al, 2007). With the education
requirement for the workplace growing, the number of non traditional students is
still on the rise in colleges and universities (Caruth, 2014). In the 2013 2014
academic school year, it was estimated that tuition, fees, room, and board would be
$15,640 at non profit public institutions and $40,614 at non profit private institutions.
For non traditional students who typically take an average of five years (Cash, 2013)
to complete a college degree, if they even complete the degree program, it would cost
approximately $78, 200 at a public institution and $203,070 at a private institution,
without accounting for inflation (National Center for Education Statistics, n.d.).
Statistics also show that more than half of today s post secondary student population
attend school part time (Kazis et. al, 2007). Therefore, their outside employement
could hinder their qualification for federal financial aid. These statistics show the
growing need for non traditional students to be able to access and afford post
secondary education, and this paper s aim is to address these
The Pros And Cons Of Public Schools

Public schools are the way to go!
There are many types of ways kids acquire an education today; some of these happen
to be public and public schools. Some assume that private schools offer superior
everything, justifying their tuition costs (Great Schools Staff). In that case, people
automatically convey the false belief that private schools have a much better form of
education. In reality, education in a Public school is highly more advanced and
experienced than any particular Private school, because of their social involvements
being opened to try new things, accumulating more experience for a smaller cost, and
having no limitations nor boundaries that will minimize student s skills and
capabilities.
Public schools have been around for decades, and have formed one of our main
options to pursue an education in the 21st century. Researchers mentioned, We
analyzed instructors and performance for over 300,000 elementary and middle
school students in 15,108 public, charter, and private schools. What we found
surprised us (Valerie Strauss). The experience these public schools carry is real, from
having a variety of students who practice different types of religion, to having people
who have been raised differently. Experiences like these allow the students to get
comfortable with these types of environments.
The message trying to be delivered there is that one day eventually all kids will
end up in what is called The Real World , and kids that have been raised and have
been educated in an environment with limited boundaries like private schools,
might eventually be facing several obstacles. For example, obstacles like not being
familiar socializing well enough with others. That is probably one of the toughest
one in such way that growing up in private schools, an individual will always be
socially hanging out or making relations around the same kind of people. Not being
able to develop social relations with others just another reason why, students in public
schools actually outperform those in private schools (Valerie Strauss).
In various perspectives that s unscrupulous for students, a tremendous part of a
student s education is being able to
Followers Type Of Follower Analysis
Identify which slide represents the type of follower discussed by Kellerman and why.
Slide 1 represent the participant type of follower. Kelleman states these types of
followers care about the organization and try to make an impact. If they do not agree
with the leader, they will try to challenge them (Kelleman, 2009). The picture
illustrates followers, following and then stops (by using a hand), this makes me
believe that they are challenging the leader.
Slide 2 represent the bystanders type of follower. Kelleman talks about how this type
of follower is an observer, not a participate who deliberately decides to stand by and
disengage from their leaders (Kellrman, 2009). She also stats these types of follower
will stand by and do nothing even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leadership can build a relationship with these types of followers by communicating
openly and providing the goals and outcomes of the new opportunities. Leaders
should also listen to their ideas so they feel engaged. According to the Building and
Sustaining Relationships article, leaders need to take time to listen (Community Tool
Box, n.d.).
Diehards followers: According to the Building and Sustaining Relationships article,
building and sustaining relationships are at the heart of organizing communities
(Community Tool Box, n.d.); leaders need to pay special attention to those who
demonstrate their strong support says Barbara Kellerman (Kellerman, 2007).
Participants followers: These types of followers will try to change the direction if
they do not agree with the leader s ideas, etc. (Kelleman, 2009). Leaders should
watch over these types of followers and pay close attention to whether these
followers are against them. According to the Building and Sustaining Relationships
article, you can disagree and still build relationships with individuals who are
working against your goals by creating dialogue groups to hear why advertise views
the issues the way they do (Community Tool Box,

When a design is complete and goes to the market, it may experience different
scenarios like different kind of inputs. So if we were able to create the same
environment before and analyze the results, design failures at later stages can be
minimized. So such scenarios are pre created by running a group of tests with a
single command. This is called a Regression testing, where a test suite is run on the
design for analysis purposes. The main idea is to retest everything when
something changes and to develop an Always working model, where design is
kept in an always working state. For the design project, I have run a series of
regression tests for different memory models like DDR3, DDR4, LPDDR2,
LPDDR3, LPDDR4 and DDR3, DDR4 MRAM models under different modes like
2to1, 4to1, injecting error correction code (ECC), without injecting error correction
code (ECC). Modified the test bench along with the help of the verification team
for any errors or test failures. By running regression tests, I was able to improve
the coverage. In a verification methodology, it is important to analyze the how far
our test methods can verify the complete design. This can be done by coverage
analysis like functional coverage, code coverage, assertion coverage, etc. Functional
coverage is used to observe how far
Asian Americans And Asian American Populations
Asian Americans have been migrating to the United States since the 1850 s. The
Chinese came over first and decades later, the Japanese, Koreans, and Filipinos
followed. All of these Asian American populations faced discrimination, racial
hostility, inequality, deportation, and possible death. They paved the way for other
Asian Americanpopulations wanting to make better lives for themselves and for their
families. Today, we have twenty Asian American populations living in the United
States. The demographic data will show the varied population sizes (Census

Racial Discrimination and Hispanics in the United States
Racial discrimination is a term used to describe unfair behavior afflicted on
individuals based on their race (LegalCyberTips, 2007, Para 1). The concept of
racism has existed for decades. The act of one race attempting to exert supremacy
over others has often resulted in racial discrimination (LegalCyberTips, 2007). Racial
discrimination is a constant reality in the lives of HispanicAmericans in the United
States. Due to alarming migration rates over the past several decades, the United
States has experienced significant growth in ethnic and racial diversity. However,

Nicolette Cutler, a student of Trinity College and avid Puerto Rico Researcher stated
that, despite the fact that many Puerto Ricans were able to find work in the United
States and live better than they had in Puerto Rico, they could never feel like this
was their new home. Faced with racism and injustice daily, the Puerto Rican
population had to face the fact that they were not considered citizens of the United
States. From 1898 until 1917, Puerto Ricans were considered citizens of nowhere
(Para.4).
In the 1970 s Puerto Ricans faced racial redlining practices from vendors which
prevented Hispanics from relocating to better areas. Community vendors believed
that if Hispanics moved into better areas their property and value would decrease
(Wilson, 2007). Although the churches welcomed and provided Hispanics with vital
support, most communities were not as welcoming. Finding a place to live became
complicated because most property owners would not rent to Hispanics. The racial
redlining became so extreme that many Hispanic residents curtailed their movements
between work, church, and home, avoiding being out on the streets so as not to
encounter harassment (Wilson, 2007, Para 6).
Racial Discrimination and Hispanics 5
Today, racial redlining has taken many forms; a specific example is the increasingly
high insurance rates for minority groups such as the Hispanics. In 1994, the National

place results on the third floor of her company, which was referred to as the toxic
waste dump . During a chance meeting with Lonnie from the world famous Pike
Place Fish in Seattle Washington, which was in walking distance from her work
site, she began to believe that turning her department around for the better was
possible. Lonnie taught her about the 4 step system of the fish market. Mary Jane
knew she wanted to implement his ideas, and get her staff involved in the fish
philosophy of: choose your attitude, play, make their day, and be present. Mary
Jane stepped out of her comfort zone and took a promotion with her firm. Her
boss, Bill, passed down that the upper management of the firm expected to see
improvements in the department that she now managed. The department lacked
morale, did nothing to build relationships with their internal customers, and was
the joke of the whole firm, upper management even referred to them as the toxic
waste dump . Mary Jane revisited lecture material from self help seminars she had
attended in the past, studied inspirational quotes, and searched the inner corners of
herself to try and come up with a feasible solution to the duty set before her. It may
have been luck or possibly fate that guided her to the Pike Place Fish during her
lunch hour where she was destined to meet Lonnie. It seemed like a case of being at

The Issue That Faces Women Is Abortion
Description of the Problem
An important issue that faces women is abortion. With abortion laws constantly
changing, women are finding that they are a continuous target of sexism. Social
work is relative to this subject because often times social workers have to assist
clients who are seeking or who have had an abortion. It is very important that a social
worker is knowledgeable about abortion rights and laws. This is critical as it may
become a part of your case. Women s health is equally as important as everyone s
else s rights. Instead of focusing on what is much more important, lawmakers have
spent a great deal of time focusing on ruling the reproductive rights of women.
Abortion rights for women are a constant challenge. Abortion became legal in the
1973 case of Roe v. Wade by the supreme court. A woman then had the right to make
choices about her own body. This was all in connection with the right to privacy
rights and the pro choice side. The problem is you have individuals that agree with
pro life and pro choice. With that being said, the pro life activist believe that the
pregnancy should not be terminated and the woman should give birth. Pro choice is
when one believes that it s a woman s decision whether she wants to have a baby or
not.
This ties into sexism because by taking control over women s health rights, you re
limiting a women s capabilities as a woman. With sexist thoughts, a woman s rights
can easily be violated with stereotypical thoughts and

The name given to Bhagat Singh meant `devotee`. `Arya Samaj` had a huge impact

Bhagat Singh admitted his crime and made statements in the court against the
British as a tool to publicise their cause of freedom struggle. However, the court
ordered the case to be carried out without members of the association who were
present at the hearing. This order produced a chaos amongst the supporters of
Bhagat Singh. Bhagat Singh along with other prisoners launched hunger strike in
the jail. The main reason behind this was that the British thieves and murderers
were given better treatment than the Indian prisoners. According to law the Indian
political prisoners were supposed to be given better rights. Bhagat also demanded
that the Indian political prisoners should not be forced to do any sort of undignified
work. This hunger strike lasted for 63 days and ended with the submission of
British power. With this he gained tremendous popularity. Ideology of Bhagat Singh

gradually from Gandhian nationalism to revolutionary Marxism. By the end of 1928,
he and his comrades renamed their organisation the Hindustan Socialist Republican

and Rhonda 2000). Some of these classical sociological thinkers expressed their
own ideas of division of labor, such as Adam Smith, Karl Marx, and Emile
Durkheim. The ideas of these three great thinkers had some similarities, but also
differed in many ways. Adam Smith felt division of labor was necessary and vital for
economic prosperity, while... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marx believed it was something very horrible, and eventually all the workers
would revolt and ultimately over throw and get rid of capitalism. He had a utopian
view of what he wanted the world to be but unfortunately his view was unrealistic.
Marx s idea of division of labor was pessimistic on an extreme level. He was right
about the worker s condition and the drive for money on the capitalist s end, but
the way he wanted the world to be would limit social mobility. Not only were his
aspirations for the world a bit unrealistic, but he also advocated for the public to
not only write about what was going on, he wanted them to do something about it;
even though he, himself, never actually did. Emile Durkheim s Perspective: While
Adam Smith and Karl Marx took on the definition of division of labor in terms of a
more economical perspective, Emile Durkheim expresses his ideas of division of
labor in terms of it on a more societal level. Similar to Smith s perspective,
Durkheim saw division of labor as being an evolution. He believed division of labor
led to solidarity. He described there being two different types of solidarity,
mechanical and organic solidarity. Mechanical solidarity, or solidarity by similarities,
was the traditional model of societies that had a collective (or common)
consciousness (Durkheim 1893). This meant the societies that shared the same
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Food Irradiation
In modern society, science has been heavily involved with the production of food.
Due to urbanisation, most people in developed countries as well as many people in
developing countries neither have the resources nor the time necessary to carry out
subsistence farming that can produce an adequate amount of foodfor themselves and
their family on a regular basis. This sort of farming is only possibly in a rural
environment. Because of this, urban families are troubled with the task of finding
fresh and healthy produce to consume.

going rancid, or being naturally preserved without changing in texture or flavour. The
only way the industry would do this is by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sodium nitrate is common example which can be found in most processed meats.
This compound inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria in the meats, which
prolongs the shelf life of the meats. Propyl gallate is another substance which is
used as a preservative. Butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated
hydroxytoluene (BTH) help with the preservation of food items because of their
antioxidant chemistry. Olestra and trans fatty acids (trans fats) are oil based
substances which are artificially created substances. These substances are used
hamburgers, potato chips many other pre fried food items. They enhance the
flavour of these food items and are far cheaper to use for the manufacturers of the
food items. Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is used widely in food products as a
flavourant. Aspartame is also a flavourant, which is used an artificial sweetener used
by people who either cannot or do not want to consume foods with high sugar
content. Another sweetener which is widely used is Acesulfame K, which is
approximately 200 times sweeter than actual table sugar. This makes this sweetener a
cost effective replacement for normal sugar in the preparation of products which

beneficial in powdered substances, like baking soda, as their shelf life can be

Film Analysis Of The Movie Kingsm The Secret Service
The movie Kingsman: The Secret Service is a thriller and action packed movie
revolving around Kingsman a spy agency which for decades has been in action
undercover to save the mankind from its enemies. The theme of the film revolves
around the triumph of good over evil and how the good side eventually wins,
diminishing the evil. The movie evokes a feeling of thrill and anticipation through the
mise en scene it has to offer. Mise en scene is the information that the filmprovides
through the medium of vision. Mise en scene plays an important role in this movie
as a lot of visual effects are used in the film to show a technologically advanced
world filled with high tech gadgets, weapons, and systems.
The movie takes place in multiple locations be it Kentucky, London, Argentina or
more. The audiences are introduced to these locations before each scene through
extremely long establishing shots with the name of the geographical location
appearing on the side. As most of the scenes are taking place indoors this
introduction of the geographical location provides an in depth of the diegesis to the
audiences. It also helps in the creation of space as closed indoor spaces cannot
convey their locations according to the need of the story, whether they are actually
shot there or not. The movie starts off with a fight sequence in the Middle East,
making the subject of the film clear and thus preparing them for the violence that is
yet to come. The movie has two crucial characters
The Power of Propaganda Essay
The Power of Propaganda The power of propaganda is often over looked, and those
who manipulate and utilize its strength can make even the most absurd and repelling
thought seem appealing. Adolf Hitler was one such man as he stated that, The
receptivity of the great masses is very limited, their intelligence is small, but their
power of forgetting is enormous. In consequence of these facts, all effective
propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these in slogans

this book s being called Mein Kampf or My Battle , and such proverbial phrases as
Summary Of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe written by C.S. Lewis is quite an example
of a hero s journey. This book details four siblings, Peter, Edmund, Susan and Lucy,
as they adventure into a magical wardrobe, and the magical land it leads to, Narnia.
Through a cold winter, a evil witch and a great lion, these siblings make their way
through Narnia.
Stage 1: The Call To Adventure The Call to Adventure would be Lucy finding, and
travelling through, the magical wardrobe to Narnia. A she explores her new living
quarters during a game of hide and seek, she decides to follow the light and cold
temperature of the back of the wardrobe she hid in. She reaches Narnia near a
lamppost, the magical land beyond the wardrobe, meets a good faun named Mr.
Tumnus. He introduces her to Narnia over a few hours, he was nice and very
hospitable to her, as he was working for the evil White Witchto capture humans, not
doing so is a crime. Soon enough she returns to London as if no time had passed.
She tells Peter, Edmund and Susan but they do not believe her. Later on, Edmund
enters the wardrobe and meets the White Witch and she uses his oblivious state to
get him on her side of good . This curiosity and magical happening leads to a
beginning of a long journey.
Stage 2: Crossing the Threshold The threshold they cross would most certainly be
the magical wardrobe. All of the siblings enter the wardrobe to hide from a bossy
and uptight servant of owner (The Professor) of the house they re

My Experience After A First Job
Throughout my life I have been privileged with many lessons, some taught by my
own mistakes, other s guidance, or through my own interests and determination. I
approach each mistake as simply a way to learn more, so I don t have to repeat that
ever again. One format that I have learned from is my experience in getting a first
job. The path I took in achieving my goals for that job and being finally hired is
something I never want to forget, because it teaches me a very, very simple lesson
that many still don t understand: work hard if you want to succeed. I was a
sophomore in high school, a scrawny, smart kid who tried to act athletic by playing
JV soccer. My parents encouraged me to get a job early on in my life, so I would

every single other kid in line had not decided on that choice of clothing; in fact,

Introduction
Project Based Learning is a teaching method that allows students to gain knowledge
and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to
an engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge. Through this approach
students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real world
challenges and problems. Beautiful Stuff! is a book written by Cathy Weisman
Topal and Lella Gandini that shares the journey of real teachers in a real school
who were inspired by educators from Reggio Emilia, Italy. Cathy Topal spent two
mornings a week in the preschool and kindergarten as a visual aid teacher. Lella

teachers in book Rite Harris and Debbie Grubbs observed and recorded what
happens when the focus is on process rather than product in project based learning.
The book provides approaches on how to nurture the creativity of children, which
is a key part in a child s development. In my paper I will summarize the five chapters
within the book, along with providing two researched based article on project based

Resource based theory is a great basis of competitive advantage in a firm, this is the
resources that are rare and non substitutable. It also highlights the importance of a
company s resources and capabilities. Possession of these strategic resources as led

Domiti Emperor Of The Vespasian Dynasty
Domitian was a Roman emperor from 81 to 96, and was the third and last emperor
of the Flavian dynasty. Domitian s early career was spent in the shadow of his
brother Titus. This continued under the rule of his father Vespasian, who became
emperor in 69 following the civil war, which is known as the Year of the Four
Emperors. While Titusheld many offices under the rule of his father, Domitian
received honors but no responsibilities. When Vespasiandied in 79 he was succeeded
by Titus, whose own reign came to an unexpected end when he was struck by a fatal
illness in 81. The following day Domitian was declared Emperor by the Praetorian
Guard, beginning his reign that lasted fifteen years.

After Domitian died, the senate tried to erase all memory of his existence, while
senatorial authors like Suetonius published histories making Domitian seem like a
cruel tyrant. Modern history has rejected these views, instead characterizing Domitian
as a ruthless but efficient autocrat whose cultural, economic and political program
provided the foundation of the peaceful 2nd century.
Early Life
Domitian was born in Rome on October 24, 51, and was the youngest son of Titus
Flavius Vespasianus, commonly known as Vespasian. He had an older sister,
Domitilla the Younger, and brother, also named Titus Flavius Vespasianus. The
Flavians rose to prominence in just four generations, acquiring wealth and status
under the emperors of the Julio Claudian dynasty. Domitian s great grandfather,
Titus Flavius Petro, had served as a centurion under Pompey during Caesar s civil
war. However, his military career ended in disgrace when he fled the battlefield at
the Battle of Pharsalus in 48 BC. Petro managed to improve his status by marrying
the extremely wealthy Tertulla, whose fortune guaranteed the upwards mobility of
Petro s son Titus Flavius Sabinus I, Domitian s grandfather. Sabinus gained further
wealth and possible equestrian status through his services as tax collector in Asia
and banker in Helvetia. By marrying Vespasia Polla he allied the Flavian family to
the more prestigious gens Vespasia, ensuring the elevation of his sons Titus Flavius
Sabinus II and Vespasian to
A Summary Of Jesus And The Lamentation Of Christ
Today I will be comparing these two late Medieval Italian paintings which have a
story that arranged throughout the chapel, both paintings show Mary saying goodbye
to her late son, Jesus.Looking at the painting Lamentation of Christ (Duccio) you can
notice that the background is a golden tone with a mountain displayed in The
Mourning of Christ (Giotto) you can notice the background is a bright blue not a
golden tone, you can notice a difference in the sky that makes you wonder whether it
was day or night. The most basic difference probably lies in the area ten angels flying
around in the sky in the Mourning of Christ (Giotto) painting which the Lamentation
of Christ(Duccio) painting fails to show any angels failing to give a fantasy theme to
the painting. As you glance at both the Mourning of Christ (Giotto) and the
Lamentation of Christ (Duccio) painting you can also notice that in the Mourning of
Christ (Giotto) painting Jesus and his Seven disciples all have halos around their
head which is merely a round flat plated halobehind their heads. The focus in the
Lamentation of Christ (Duccio) are on both Jesus and his Disciples, those who are
closest to him while in the Giotto painting the focus is on the left side of the canvas
and being focused on the center of the canvas showing not only the disciples and the
audience of Jesus s death. In the Giotto painting they depict the importance of
disciples and those closer Jesus with halos. In

Media Multitasking Is Bad
To Live a Life Beyond the Screen:
Why Media Multitasking is Bad for Kids
A management student listens to a lecture, fingers intermittently punching keys in
his laptop not to take down notes for tomorrow s exam, but to check Twitter for the
day s trending topics. A boy and a girl lie comfortably on a sofa watching American
Idol with their heads bent not towards each other, but towards their iPhone screens.

On the contrary, it may even broadly interfere with one s efficiency. Common sense
dictates that if a person s mind attends to ever more tasks at the same time, the
deterioration of the quality of his work comes as a huge possibility. Consequently,
the output of his labor is not as fine as when the work had all his attention. If this
happens, the concept of productivity or efficiency becomes moot, given that the
essence of excellence in work is compromised. Evidently, media multitasking
brandishes a false sense of accomplishment among students, when in fact it even
distracts them from their academic pursuits. The costs of media multitasking in terms
of one s cognitive development are, likewise, disconcerting. Besides operating as
elements of distraction for young students, studies reveal that media multitasking
may not also promote depth based or analytical thinking that is, the use of executive
functions (such as the ability to prioritize tasks and figure out what information is
most valuable), and the capacity to concentrate on complex tasks that require
reflection or imagination (Bradley). Instead, media multitasking drives young
learners cognitive skills to be far spottier and shallower than normal (Paul). Yet, on
the plus side, chronic multitaskers seem to lean towards being more proficient visual
thinkers, owing to their engagement to visual, rather than print media (Bozeday 3)
(Brady 5). Director of Children s Digital Media Center and University of California
Los Angeles Professor of Psychology Patricia Greenfield, for example, reported that
two hours of a shooting game could improve performance on several tasks that are
practical in the military job of standing guard. In short, playing video games may

Computer Networks And Its Impact On The Retail Store
Front
With the use of mainframe computers, we have gained cost effective critical
transaction processing because of the mainframe s scalability; reliable hardware and
software compatibility; and, the mainframe s security infrastructure makes
maintaining and managing the mainframe more feasible. Compared to commodity
servers, mainframe transaction processing is scalable because many businesses
experience massive increases in computational loads (Hallman, 2015). Let us consider
this circumstance: During a retail store front s hours of operation, there may be many
customers making product purchases. Simultaneously, there may be many customers
seeking refunds on their product purchases. One can also consider that this retail
store front offers its services over the Internet with the use of an e commerce
operation called metrics management. This e commerce operation encompasses web
analytics, channel metrics, financial metrics, and product metrics. With the use of
metrics management, one can measure the effectiveness of the Internet channel and
the retail store front channel by analyzing the quantity of product purchases and
product refunds to deduce which channel promotes a financially effective service; or,
one could objectively consider to have these channels work in tandem to capture a
product purchase in any way possible. In this circumstance, the quantity of product
purchases and product refunds are metrics that require computational loads because
the mainframe would store and
Critique of Bentham s Quantitative Utilitarianism
Over time, the actions of mankind have been the victim of two vague labels, right
and wrong. The criteria for these labels are not clearly defined, but they still seem
to be the standard by which the actions of man are judged. There are some people
that abide by a deontological view when it comes to judging the nature of actions;
the deontological view holds that it is a person s intention that makes an action right
or wrong. On the other hand there is the teleological view which holds that it is the
result of an action is what makes that act right or wrong. In this essay I will be
dealing with utilitarianism, a philosophical principle that holds a teleological view
when it comes the nature of actions. To solely discuss utilitarianism is... Show more

The interest of the community is said to be a sum of the total interests of its several
members. It is never specified what how exactly this total is acquired or even if the
members of the community would agree on whatever is considered the community s
interest. If the members would agree then that means that everyone in the community
had the same interest to begin with. If the members would not agree, then how can
you go about adding up their conflicting interests? These interests, when attempting
to get a total seem like they would cancel each other out which wouldn t make for
much of sum total. Things of this nature (individual interests) are so relative that it
would be impossible as well as pointless to even try to place any kind of concrete
value, which brings up another point. What kind of value are these individual and
community interests supposed to have? In order to add things up they must have
some sort of value. Because of Bentham s failure to offer some sort of method for
combining individuals interests and since he failed to offer some sort of concrete
value for these abstract things, his perspective on the interest of the community
remains unclear to me.
The second issue that I am going to take up lies in Bentham s method of calculating
the general tendency of an act that affects a community s interest. For starters, the
process itself is too
Analysis Of The Movie Memento
The most important thing a tourist does before they leave a new city is buying a
trinket to immortalize their vacation. The streets of New York City are lined with
memorabilia people use as mementos; street vendors, gift shops, and monuments all
placed to get tourists to buy their items. People line up to buy these trinkets to freeze
memories in time, to keep these moments in their head forever, to save as a memento.
A memento is an object used for remembrance, usually used to remember a time, a
place, or a person. In the movie Memento, the main character (Leonard) has short
term memoryloss and he creates his own memento to remember important events. He
uses tattoos on his body as a roadmap for significant events by inking details all over
his skin.
The tattoos are necessary to help Leonard remember. Every morning Leonard wakes
up forgetting who he is and every morning he has to take the time to investigate his
surroundings to remember. He has created a system he routinely follows involving
Polaroids, notes, and tattoos. These things remind him where he is, where he is
going, and the purpose if his actions. The tattoos are imperative because they define
his actions throughout the movie. A specific scene continually plays during the
movie that involves Lenny opening his shirt to reveal a large tattoo across his chest
reading John G. raped and murdered my wife. This tattoo is important because it
reminds Lenny of the investigation he is undergoing, Lenny is

after concluding a political revolution, Mexico started to face problems not only in
their internal structure but also with exterior relationships. Even though the Mexican
effort to defend its patrimony from a powerful military won an important battle, the
Mexican government was easily overthrown, establishing a new period in Mexican
history. The French intervention in Mexicoderived from the struggles of own Mexican

The desperation from Mexican officials did not find a viable way to solve the
situation. After realizing that the lack of funds in the country were insufficient to
pay the claims from the English, French, and Spanish, President Juarez proclaimed
to suspend, for the time period of two years, the debt payment to any European
nation. This move from the Mexican leader did not seem justified along the eyes of
the affected countries and even brought them together to proclaim what they
demanded. The European nations embarked towards Mexico in an attempt to get

the three European forces. Although having success into convincing the English and

chaos. The French, even though being a super military power, struggled at the
beginning to take under control the Mexican territory. The three European forces
arrived at the Mexican port of Veracruz with the plans of negotiating their claims to
be returned, but it came clear to Spain and Britain what the French intentions always
were. Napoleon III had plans of

2. What Types Of AdWords Advertising Campaign Should I Start With?
Set up the best Google AdWords campaign for your business needs. The first question
to ask is, What type of AdWords advertising campaign should I start with? Before you
ask, it s important to understand the difference between them.
Ads go far beyond those little boxes filled with words and pictures that pop up when
someone conducts a Google search. When it comes to Google AdWords, there are
two main types of ad campaigns the search network, and the display network.
Though, it is also possible to select a combination of search and display network
ads. Additionally, there are some specifically focused campaigns that use shopping,
video and apps to draw and keep customers. Here are some of the most widely used
and successful ad campaign types.
The Search Network The way this type of advertising campaign works is that you
link AdWords to keywords and phrases. When someone searches for these linked
key words or phrases, your ad will show up. The ads that appear are relevant to the
person s search. The person searching looks up what they want under a category
heading through Google much like they used to do with a phone directory or
Yellow Pages. For instance, if you are searching for a dentist, related ads for
dentists will conveniently appear. The Search Network type of ad campaign targets
the search partners so that your ads display not only in a Google search but also in
other Google partners, like
Extraction of Benzoic Acid Essay
Introduction
The purpose of this experiment is to practice common organic laboratory techniques
inside the lab to get one oriented to the basic methods of procedure that can be used
for later experiments. This experiment involves the separation of benzoic acid from
a more crude form, consisting of benzoic acid, methyl orange, a common acid/base
indicator, and cellulose, a natural polymer of glucose (Huston, and Liu 17 24). The
technique that is used to perform this separation is called extraction. Extraction is a
systematic process of separating mixtures of compounds, taking advantage of the
affinity differences of compounds to separate them (Padias 128 37). This technique
recognizes the principle that like dissolves in like, that is, ... Show more content on

These layers can be separated through the use of a seperatory funnel which drains the
bottom layer into a separate container. This method uses the understanding of
partition ratios of solutes to different paired solvents to produce an equilibrium
leaning towards one solvent over another, thereby extracting a compound from one
liquid to the other (Padias 128 37). For example, consider a mixture containing two
solutes, solute A and solute B, and two immiscible solvents, solvent A and solvent
B. If solute A dissolves well into solvent A, but not very well into solvent B, and
solute B dissolves well into solvent B but not very well into solvent A, there would
be a higher ratio of solute A in solvent A than in solvent B, and a higher ratio of
solute B into solvent B than in solvent A. One can then see that, through the use of
different solvents, two dissolved solutes can be separated from a mixture. This ratio
of a solute concentration to different solvents is defined by K, the distribution
constant. Successive filtrations yield s a higher percentage of products.
Chemically active extraction is a highly useful method of separating organic
compounds in mixtures (Padias 128 37). Organic acids and bases are soluble in
organic solvents, but their corresponding salts are soluble in water. Therefore, if one
had a mixture of an acidic organic compound and a basic organic compound in an
organic solvent, addition of a base

  • 2. White Nose Syndrome Essay White nose syndrome is a fungus that grows on hibernating bats muzzles that has killed nearly 6 million of them. Although traditionally found in most if not all eastern states, bats in caves as far south as Mississippi, as far west as Oklahoma, and as far north as Canada have been found with the devastating fungus. Infecting 47 species of bats, the disease was first noticed in the winter of 2006 2007 in New York, because of the odd behavior of the bats. It was later discovered that the fungus, Pseudogymnoascus destructans, causes infected bats to exhibit uncommon behavior such as flying during the day. Scientist have discovered that this fungus, which distributed hydration cycles, caused the bats to awake early during hibernation in order... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rangers at the Mammoth Cave National Park took very seriously the prospect of human transmission of White Nose syndrome to their bat populations and took several preventative measures to stop the spread of it. All the visitors were screened to see if the fungus was on their cloths, shoes, or accessories as they entered the park. Although they took these preventative measures, they were unable to stop the fungus from infiltrating their populations. Bats in areas of the cave that the average visitor was not permitted to explore began showing signs of having the disease in about 2013, proving it was not introduced by humans. To somewhat contain the fungus, visitors, as they leave, they walk across bio hazardous mats, which collects the dirt from people s shoes where the fungus harbors. Because humans are one of the two known carriers of the fungus, this measure was introduced in the hopes that they will not take with them the fungus as they return to their home. Having already begun to spread west from its east coast roots, using these protocols could delay the western expansion of the fungus. The rangers also have geography on their side. The vast open plans that separate the national park from the mountains on the west coast will also serve as a buffer in the spread. If the fungus can be contained, scientist will have an easier time studying its effects allowing for a speedier recovery of the bats, a species who desperately needs our

Ecology is the study of the structure and dynamics of the biological processes that compose and sustain the earth s ecosystem (Logan 52). The control processes of the firm are in place to minimize risks and monitor the processes that result in final financial statement figures. The following is a list and description of the 10 controls that we have identified as being currently used in the Athens, Ohio Wendy s location. 1.Review of POS This control is partially a response to the use of an inadequate POS system in use at the location. Management reviews the transactions in the system to ensure that the transactions have occurred. The system is also reviewed to ensure that the inventory recorded on the system exists. The POS system helps keep track of all cost of goods sold and revenues. We have assessed that the level of risk related to this control is high due to the outdated nature of the system being used. This control mitigates the risk of inaccuracy in the system s figures for financial statements. This control improves the completeness and occurrence assertions for the financial statements. 2.Inventory Count Verification Management counts inventory twice a day to verify that the inventory recorded on the books matches the inventory stored in the facility. This activity can be used to detect the unauthorized removal of inventory from the establishment. The general manager consults the lower level managers about the counts to double check if the figures are correct. We have assessed the risk
  • 5. Effects And Effects Of Acid Rain And Its Effects Acid Rain: its Effect Acid rain refers to precipitation that is more acidic (having lower pH levels) than average. In more detail, acid rain is a type of precipitation that has mixtures of wet and dry materials coming from the atmosphere, which includes more nitric and sulphuric acids (Conserve Energy Future: Acid Rain). Acid rain can also be written as Acid Deposition because the acid rain could come down as other precipitation, for instance, snow. This became a worldwide problem due to the effects it can have on land, aquatic ecosystems, buildings, vegetation and more. The acidity of the acid rain will distort the pH levels and break down the elements to harm whatever this type of precipitation touches. First things first, what is a pH level? The pH level is short for potential hydrogen, and the level is used to find the acidity of an aqueous solution. The scale ranges from zero to fourteen, and seven being the most neutral level in the scale. The higher the level (over level 7), it contains more oxygen, and more alkaline it is. Lower the level (below level 7), it becomes more acidic and contains less oxygen. Do not think that dropping one level in the pH scale won t make a big difference, ...the pH scale is a logarithmic measure. This means that every pH change of one is a tenfold change in acid content. ( Acid Rain: The Environment ). Rain, for instance, should be around 5.3 to 6.0 pH level of acidity, a little acidic but not too much to harm things drastically.

Noting a past of memorization of dates and names, and no relevance therefore, nothing was memorable or had any importance. 2) How I want to teach social studies? Taking information and making it fun so students can remember it longer and using groups not limiting ourselves to textbooks. 3) Dates are important and dates are not important. Combining the two sets of beliefs will be shown in a new social studies belief statement. 1) Meaningful Relevance: In practicum the lesson was citizenship and the three branches of government. To make this meaningful to the students and then relevant was impressive. Mrs. Anderson asked the core of the lesson plan on the first three days to give the basics. This was relatively easy and the students made it easier by doing their jobs and learning. On day four, Mrs. Anderson walked the students through the process of how a bill becomes a law. She divided the students into the House of Representatives, Congress, and a President. She provided bills that lobbyist wanted to be a law. She guided them through a bill becoming a law and a vetoed bill. The students were 100% actively engaged and enjoying the lesson. She knew the students and how to divide them up and how to both engage them, keep them engaged and still teach a meaningful/relevant lesson. This is the top of the belief list because it is something that is also not limited to just social studies. Attempts were made to include this in practicum but it is something that will take some time. The engagement part may be easy but maintaining the energy takes more than just showing up with an activity but making it meaningful for the

  • 8. The Pros And Cons Of Public Schools David Cantu November 21, 2017 English 1301 Dr. Rebecca Millan Public schools are the way to go! There are many types of ways kids acquire an education today; some of these happen to be public and public schools. Some assume that private schools offer superior everything, justifying their tuition costs (Great Schools Staff). In that case, people automatically convey the false belief that private schools have a much better form of education. In reality, education in a Public school is highly more advanced and experienced than any particular Private school, because of their social involvements being opened to try new things, accumulating more experience for a smaller cost, and having no limitations nor boundaries that will minimize student s skills and capabilities. Public schools have been around for decades, and have formed one of our main options to pursue an education in the 21st century. Researchers mentioned, We analyzed instructors and performance for over 300,000 elementary and middle school students in 15,108 public, charter, and private schools. What we found surprised us (Valerie Strauss). The experience these public schools carry is real, from having a variety of students who practice different types of religion, to having people who have been raised differently. Experiences like these allow the students to get comfortable with these types of environments. The message trying to be delivered there is that one day eventually all kids will end up in what is called The Real World , and kids that have been raised and have been educated in an environment with limited boundaries like private schools, might eventually be facing several obstacles. For example, obstacles like not being familiar socializing well enough with others. That is probably one of the toughest one in such way that growing up in private schools, an individual will always be socially hanging out or making relations around the same kind of people. Not being able to develop social relations with others just another reason why, students in public schools actually outperform those in private schools (Valerie Strauss). In various perspectives that s unscrupulous for students, a tremendous part of a student s education is being able to

So if we were able to create the same environment before and analyze the results, design failures at later stages can be minimized. So such scenarios are pre created by running a group of tests with a single command. This is called a Regression testing, where a test suite is run on the design for analysis purposes. The main idea is to retest everything when something changes and to develop an Always working model, where design is kept in an always working state. For the design project, I have run a series of regression tests for different memory models like DDR3, DDR4, LPDDR2, LPDDR3, LPDDR4 and DDR3, DDR4 MRAM models under different modes like 2to1, 4to1, injecting error correction code (ECC), without injecting error correction code (ECC). With abortion laws constantly changing, women are finding that they are a continuous target of sexism. Social work is relative to this subject because often times social workers have to assist clients who are seeking or who have had an abortion. It is very important that a social worker is knowledgeable about abortion rights and laws. This is critical as it may become a part of your case. Women s health is equally as important as everyone s else s rights. Instead of focusing on what is much more important, lawmakers have spent a great deal of time focusing on ruling the reproductive rights of women. Abortion rights for women are a constant challenge. Abortion became legal in the 1973 case of Roe v. Wade by the supreme court. A woman then had the right to make choices about her own body. This was all in connection with the right to privacy rights and the pro choice side. The problem is you have individuals that agree with pro life and pro choice. With that being said, the pro life activist believe that the pregnancy should not be terminated and the woman should give birth. Pro choice is when one believes that it s a woman s decision whether she wants to have a baby or not. This ties into sexism because by taking control over women s health rights, you re limiting a women s capabilities as a woman. With sexist thoughts, a woman s rights can easily be violated with stereotypical thoughts and

He was right about the worker s condition and the drive for money on the capitalist s end, but the way he wanted the world to be would limit social mobility. Not only were his aspirations for the world a bit unrealistic, but he also advocated for the public to not only write about what was going on, he wanted them to do something about it; even though he, himself, never actually did. Emile Durkheim s Perspective: While Adam Smith and Karl Marx took on the definition of division of labor in terms of a more economical perspective, Emile Durkheim expresses his ideas of division of labor in terms of it on a more societal level. The Power of Propaganda Essay The Power of Propaganda The power of propaganda is often over looked, and those who manipulate and utilize its strength can make even the most absurd and repelling thought seem appealing. Adolf Hitler was one such man as he stated that, The receptivity of the great masses is very limited, their intelligence is small, but their power of forgetting is enormous. In consequence of these facts, all effective propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public understands what you want him to understand by your slogan On the contrary, Mein Kampf was initially available in two rather large volumes. He also calls them Angsthasen (chicken hearted); For the cursing and beefing you could hear at the front were never an incitement to shirk duty or a glorification of the chicken hearted. No! It should not be surprising that Hitler also makes frequent use of other formulaic phrases which date from the warfare of the Middle Ages or the military in general. After all, there is a reason for this book s being called Mein Kampf or My Battle , and such proverbial phrases as

This book details four siblings, Peter, Edmund, Susan and Lucy, as they adventure into a magical wardrobe, and the magical land it leads to, Narnia. Through a cold winter, a evil witch and a great lion, these siblings make their way through Narnia. Stage 1: The Call To Adventure The Call to Adventure would be Lucy finding, and travelling through, the magical wardrobe to Narnia. A she explores her new living quarters during a game of hide and seek, she decides to follow the light and cold temperature of the back of the wardrobe she hid in. She reaches Narnia near a lamppost, the magical land beyond the wardrobe, meets a good faun named Mr. Tumnus. He introduces her to Narnia over a few hours, he was nice and very hospitable to her, as he was working for the evil White Witchto capture humans, not doing so is a crime. The most basic difference probably lies in the area ten angels flying around in the sky in the Mourning of Christ (Giotto) painting which the Lamentation of Christ(Duccio) painting fails to show any angels failing to give a fantasy theme to the painting. As you glance at both the Mourning of Christ (Giotto) and the Lamentation of Christ (Duccio) painting you can also notice that in the Mourning of Christ (Giotto) painting Jesus and his Seven disciples all have halos around their head which is merely a round flat plated halobehind their heads. The focus in the Lamentation of Christ (Duccio) are on both Jesus and his Disciples, those who are closest to him while in the Giotto painting the focus is on the left side of the canvas and being focused on the center of the canvas showing not only the disciples and the audience of Jesus s death. On the contrary, it may even broadly interfere with one s efficiency. Common sense dictates that if a person s mind attends to ever more tasks at the same time, the deterioration of the quality of his work comes as a huge possibility. Consequently, the output of his labor is not as fine as when the work had all his attention. If this happens, the concept of productivity or efficiency becomes moot, given that the essence of excellence in work is compromised. Evidently, media multitasking brandishes a false sense of accomplishment among students, when in fact it even distracts them from their academic pursuits. The costs of media multitasking in terms of one s cognitive development are, likewise, disconcerting. Besides operating as elements of distraction for young students, studies reveal that media multitasking may not also promote depth based or analytical thinking that is, the use of executive functions (such as the ability to prioritize tasks and figure out what information is most valuable), and the capacity to concentrate on complex tasks that require reflection or imagination (Bradley). Instead, media multitasking drives young learners cognitive skills to be far spottier and shallower than normal (Paul). Yet, on the plus side, chronic multitaskers seem to lean towards being more proficient visual thinkers, owing to their engagement to visual, rather than print media (Bozeday 3) (Brady 5). Director of Children s Digital Media Center and University of California Los Angeles Professor of Psychology Patricia Greenfield, for example, reported that two hours of a shooting game could improve performance on several tasks that are practical in the military job of standing guard. Compared to commodity servers, mainframe transaction processing is scalable because many businesses experience massive increases in computational loads (Hallman, 2015). Let us consider this circumstance: During a retail store front s hours of operation, there may be many customers making product purchases. Simultaneously, there may be many customers seeking refunds on their product purchases. One can also consider that this retail store front offers its services over the Internet with the use of an e commerce operation called metrics management. This e commerce operation encompasses web analytics, channel metrics, financial metrics, and product metrics. With the use of metrics management, one can measure the effectiveness of the Internet channel and the retail store front channel by analyzing the quantity of product purchases and product refunds to deduce which channel promotes a financially effective service; or, one could objectively consider to have these channels work in tandem to capture a product purchase in any way possible. In this circumstance, the quantity of product purchases and product refunds are metrics that require computational loads because the mainframe would store and

The criteria for these labels are not clearly defined, but they still seem to be the standard by which the actions of man are judged. There are some people that abide by a deontological view when it comes to judging the nature of actions; the deontological view holds that it is a person s intention that makes an action right or wrong. On the other hand there is the teleological view which holds that it is the result of an action is what makes that act right or wrong. It is never specified what how exactly this total is acquired or even if the members of the community would agree on whatever is considered the community s interest. If the members would not agree, then how can you go about adding up their conflicting interests? These interests, when attempting to get a total seem like they would cancel each other out which wouldn t make for much of sum total. Things of this nature (individual interests) are so relative that it would be impossible as well as pointless to even try to place any kind of concrete value, which brings up another point. What kind of value are these individual and community interests supposed to have? In order to add things up they must have some sort of value. Because of Bentham s failure to offer some sort of method for combining individuals interests and since he failed to offer some sort of concrete value for these abstract things, his perspective on the interest of the community remains unclear to me. The second issue that I am going to take up lies in Bentham s method of calculating the general tendency of an act that affects a community s interest. For starters, the process itself is too

People line up to buy these trinkets to freeze memories in time, to keep these moments in their head forever, to save as a memento. A memento is an object used for remembrance, usually used to remember a time, a place, or a person. He uses tattoos on his body as a roadmap for significant events by inking details all over his skin. The tattoos are necessary to help Leonard remember. These layers can be separated through the use of a seperatory funnel which drains the bottom layer into a separate container. This method uses the understanding of partition ratios of solutes to different paired solvents to produce an equilibrium leaning towards one solvent over another, thereby extracting a compound from one liquid to the other (Padias 128 37). For example, consider a mixture containing two solutes, solute A and solute B, and two immiscible solvents, solvent A and solvent B. If solute A dissolves well into solvent A, but not very well into solvent B, and solute B dissolves well into solvent B but not very well into solvent A, there would be a higher ratio of solute A in solvent A than in solvent B, and a higher ratio of solute B into solvent B than in solvent A. One can then see that, through the use of different solvents, two dissolved solutes can be separated from a mixture. This ratio of a solute concentration to different solvents is defined by K, the distribution constant. Successive filtrations yield s a higher percentage of products. Chemically active extraction is a highly useful method of separating organic compounds in mixtures (Padias 128 37). Organic acids and bases are soluble in organic solvents, but their corresponding salts are soluble in water. Therefore, if one had a mixture of an acidic organic compound and a basic organic compound in an organic solvent, addition of a base
