Your radiating smile is the first thing that enables people
to connect with you. A smile gives the parties both
comfort, confidence and comprehensive platform to
communicate. The smile that highlights our personality,
the overall demeanor that reflects us and our uniqueness.
This goes parallel with the verge of our communication
skills reflecting our personality.
Who are you ?
 Personality refers to an individual’s characteristics,
style, behavior, mindset, attitude, his own unique way
of perceiving things and seeing the world.
 Genetic factors, family backgrounds, varied cultures,
environment, current situations play an imperative
role in shaping one’s personality.
 The way you behave with others reflects your
personality. An individual with a pleasing personality
is appreciated and respected by all.
Definition of Personality-
American Psychological Association
Personality refers to individual differences in characteristic patterns
of thinking, feeling and behaving.
The study of personality focuses on two broad areas:
Understanding individual differences in particular personality
characteristics, such as sociability or irritability.
Understanding how the various parts of a person come together as
a whole.
Things To Enhance Your Personality
 Don't compare your life
 Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the
positive present moment
 Don't waste your precious energy on gossip
 Dream more while you are awake
 Drink plenty of water
 Eat breakfast like a King, lunch like a Prince and dinner like a Beggar
 Eat more foods that grow on trees
 Live with the 3 E’s – Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy

Communication - the human connection - is the key to
personal and career success.

Communication is simply the act of transferring information from one
place to another.
The different categories of communication include:
 Spoken or Verbal Communication: face-to-face, telephone, radio or
television and other media.
 Non-Verbal Communication: body language, gestures, how we dress or act.
 Written Communication: letters, e-mails, books, magazines, the Internet or
via other media.
 Visualizations: graphs and charts, maps, logos and other visualizations can
communicate messages.
Importance of Communication Skills
Effective Communication skills play a crucial role in projecting one’s
personality.
Communication helps individuals to express themselves in the
most convincing way.
Your thoughts, feelings and knowledge should be passed on in the
most desirable manner and effective communication skills help you
in the same.

How to improve communication
 Plan out topics to discuss even before you start the conversation.
 Re-enact the whole conversation in your mind.
 Put up a smile before you make the move. It’s the most attractive, non-verbal cue.
 Stretch out your hand for a firm handshake.
 Maintain eye contact. Follow Step 2 & 3 and begin the conversation.
 Take brief pauses in between.
 Check if your listener is looking somewhere else. If yes, it’s time to change the topic.
 Ask a question regarding the topic.
 Practice makes a man perfect. Communication skills would too get better over time.
People with great communication skills tend to have a better and
impressive personality than those who have problems in
communicating as interacting with others is not a challenge for
them.
 Individuals with effective communication skills can easily
converse with other people around be it their fellow workers,
peers, family and so on.
Effective communication skills strengthen the bond among
individuals. It is also said to improve the interpersonal
relationships with other people.
Speak convincingly so that the other person understands what
you intend to communicate. Your style of speaking has a
tremendous impact on your personality.
Speaking confidently is the key to an impressive and great
personality.
Develop proper eye contact with the other person. Do not look
around while interacting with the other person.
Take care of your body language.
Be very particular about the pronunciation of words. Pronouncing
words wrongly creates a bad impression on others.
It is important to be a good and patient listener for effective
communication skills. Observe whether the other person is
listening to you or not. Allow the other person to speak as well in
case of queries or confusions.
Conclusion
The ability to communicate convincingly enhances your
personality and sets you apart.
Improving yourself takes conscious dedication. No matter what
you are personally striving for, there’s no doubt that continuous
