PERSONAL PROFILE
For the first twenty years of my career, I had worked in marketing and business development in South East
Asia and Sweden. My training was a combination of the qualities of creativity and initiative coupled with
financial and management skills in established and start-up companies. I had networked well in the
industry and have access to key customers and competitors in banking, publishing and retail network
marketing.
Starting at United Overseas Bank (UOB) selling financial products in the Merchant department, required
me to develop my sales skills to meet financial objectives. My efforts increased sales by MYR 400,000 per
annum.
My job in publishing required me to develop business opportunities for a fledging magazine. By
developing customised advertisements and targeting new corporate companies/customers with novel
advertising campaigns, I managed to increased revenues and customers by 35%. The job required project
management skills to manage expectations of the advertising agencies and clients. In recognition for
being the top sales person for two consecutive years, Emap Publishing promoted me to Advertising Sales
& Promotion Manager.
My stint at Swedish Red Cross enabled me to understand the business drivers for a not-for-profit
organization. The job allowed me to develop alternative and non commercial revenue streams.
Working for more than 10 years in network marketing in Multi Level companies in Lifestyles,
Elken, Herbalife and now Sophie Paris, I can list the following achievements:
1. Grew revenues at a compounded rate of 60% in Lifestyles and 8% in Elken
2. Achieved highest retention growth of 52% in Herbalife
2. Established strong rapport with top distributors in Asia and identified opportunities to increase
revenues
3. Analyzed market intelligence on competitors’ products and strategies to ensure our competitive
position
4. Organized events that were able to go beyond its expectations with great creativity and passion
5. Streamlined business processes and achieved highest service level agreement
