INTRODUCTION
Soccer and field hockey are two of the most widely played field sports in the world.
Both sports involve a team of players moving a ball around a field, and attempting
to score in their opposing team s goal. At certain points in the game, if the
opposing team has infringed upon certain rules, soccer players may take a penalty
shot and hockey players a penalty stroke. The penalty shot (soccer) involves the
player kicking the ball from 11m in front of the goal s centre, and attempting to get
it past the goalie, who is the one player allowed to defend against the shot. A
penalty stroke (hockey) is essentially the same as a penalty shot, but the player
stands 6.4 metres from the goal centre, and they hit the ball using a stick. It is
believed that it is easier to score a penalty shot in soccer than a penalty stroke in
hockey, for the reasons outlined below.

Ball Speed and Goalkeeper reaction time/s:
The average reaction time of a goalie has been previously investigated by Taskin et
al., and found to be 225.59 milliseconds (2016). Secondary data for average ball
speeds for field hockey and soccer were located, and a calculation revealed the
amount of time that goalies would have to act in if they react from when the ball
is hit (see journal pages 5 6). These figures would suggest that it would be easier for
a goalie to block the ball, but given that the goalie must move much further to protect
the ends of the goal area, it is, in fact, harder to score past the hockey goalkeeper
than the soccer one.
Goal Coverage:
It has been calculated that the ratio of the percentage of the goal covered by the
goalie to the percentage of the goal covered by the ball was, for soccer, 82.14:1,
and for hockey it was 827:1 (see journal pages 3 5). If you are on the attacking team
(the team that is attempting the shot), you want this ratio to be small, as it allows
the ball more area to move in that the goalie cannot cover standing still. As such, it is
evidence that it is easier to score a soccer penalty shot than a hockey penalty

I couldn t help but to feel anxious and excited. It was my first time being in such a

Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by an
individual experiencing intrusive thoughts, images, or worries in addition to
repetitive, non functional behaviours that emerge in an effort to suppress anxiety (i.e.

Security Assertion Markup Language is an Extensible Markup Language (XML)
standard that lets a user to log on once for associated but different Web sites. SAML
is intended for business to business and business to consumer transactions (Rouse,
2008). SAML states three components: assertions, protocol, and binding, and
authentication, attribute, and authorization are the three assertions. Authentication
assertion verifies the user s identity. Attribute assertion has detailed data about the
user. And authorization assertion checks what the user is authorized to do.
Features
SAML has many good features that we all can take advantages of. One of its
features is that it supports single sign on with numerous identity benefactors. Another
one is that it also supports alternatives for identity assertion and mapping the
assertion identity to the user registry of the service provider. Also, according to
IBM SAML Single Sign on Scenarios, Features, and Limitations (2016), SAML
service provider can map or assert SAML token attributes to the realm, principal,
unique Id, and group, and set them into the service provider security context. It gives
a plug point to allow for customized identity mapping.
Usage

In The Underdogs written by Mariano Azuela, we are introduced to a character that
strongly symbolizes the fuel of the Mexican Revolution. Heroes like Demetrio
Macias brought the Serrano s hope of giving them what they felt they truly deserved.
Although Demetrio Macias, the general (colonel) of a rebel army is hunting down
the army of Pancho Villa, he seems to have the same ideals as the enemy. In addition
to Demetrio Macias, we meet women like Camilla and War Paint who represent the
different roles that women played during the Mexican Revolution.
The character of Demetrio Macias proves to be quite ironic. One facet of his

Demetrio plays the man who is full of power, and desires women and alcohol. He is
even interested in Luis Cervantes soon to be wife, when he drunkenly fights
everyone to get what he wants. Demetrio is a man of power, and feels that he can
achieve what he wants through force.
The people that Demetrio represent are evident in the people that comprise his
army, as well as the rare souls like Luis Cervantes. Cervantes, man who was well
off to begin with, but later lost his fortune to the government. He quotes Before the
revolution, I had my land all plowed, see, and just right for sowing, and if it hadn t
been for a little quarrel with Don Macio, the boss of my town, Moyahua, I d be
there in a jiffy getting the oxen ready for the sowing, see? (pg. 48) Luis Cervantes
explains his cause when he says The triumph of our cause, which is the sublime
triumph of Justice, because our ideal to be free the noble, long suffering people of
Mexico is about to be realized and because those men who have watered the earth
with their blood and tears will reap the harvest which is rightfully theirs. (pg. 69)
With respect to the degradation of women in The Underdogs, we must profile the two
women portrayed in the book. On one hand we have the conservative Camilla, and
on the other, we have War Paint. War Paint was the opposite of what society held as
the typical woman. War Paint went against the grain, and partook in events which
