Life Lesson Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Life Lesson Essays" can be both a challenging and rewarding
experience. On one hand, the vastness of life lessons provides a plethora of material to explore,
making it difficult to narrow down the focus. Life lessons come in various forms – personal
experiences, observations, teachings from others, and even fictional narratives. Selecting the
right life lesson and weaving it into a coherent and engaging essay can be a demanding task.
Moreover, delving into personal experiences often requires introspection, which can be
emotionally taxing. Reflecting on one's life lessons requires a level of vulnerability and self-
awareness that might make the writing process challenging. Articulating these experiences in a
way that resonates with the reader while maintaining a sense of universality adds another layer
of difficulty.
Crafting an effective life lesson essay involves striking a balance between storytelling and
conveying a deeper meaning. It requires the writer to go beyond merely recounting events and
explore the underlying principles and insights gained from those experiences. Connecting with
the audience on a personal and emotional level is crucial, as it allows the reader to relate to the
lessons being shared.
In addition, addressing the significance of the chosen life lesson and its broader applicability can
be complex. The essay should not only communicate the personal growth and transformation
resulting from the experience but also offer insights that others can apply to their own lives.
Despite the challenges, writing about life lessons can be immensely rewarding. It allows the
writer to share wisdom, inspire others, and contribute to a collective understanding of the human
experience. The process of crafting such an essay can be a journey of self-discovery and a means
of imparting valuable knowledge to a wider audience.
In conclusion, tackling the topic of "Life Lesson Essays" requires navigating the complexities of
personal reflection, storytelling, and universal connection. It demands a careful balance between
the deeply personal and the broadly relatable. While challenging, the process can be incredibly
enriching, offering both the writer and the reader a shared exploration of the profound lessons
life has to offer.

Terrorism And The Iraqi Government
Iraq is a nation that is in mass turmoil right now. Right now this country is under
attack by a jihadist militant group known as ISIS. Despite numerous advantages
over these terrorist ISIS has managed to take control over a significant amount of
territory in Iraq. The root of Iraq s problems is the strong Sunni Shia sectarian divide
that exist within the country. This sectarian divide is due to an Iraqi government that
fails to fairly represent all of its people. Clearly the current troubled state of Iraq
shows that the Iraqi government is deficient in providing national security and
representative government to its people.
The Iraqi government has failed to implement a government that equally represents
both the Sunni and Shia Muslims in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This prompted solid sentiments of sectarianism between Iraq s Sunnis, Kurds, and
Shiites. The Sunni, Shiite, and Kurdish political parties activated voters through
religious systems. Given these ethnic and fanatic based arrangements in the race,
the characters of religious associations were played up in the midst of the election.
Voters facilitated no reason for selecting parties other than through ethnic and
religious factions; in this manner, voters voted according to their ethnicity and
religious group. Because of Iraq s Shiite majority the Shia political party of Iraq
turned into the ruling party and the Sunni s and Kurds had next to no association in
the political procedure. Since Iraq s Sunni s and Kurd s did not feel similarly spoken
to there were exceptional sentiments of sectarianism in Iraq. The Iraqi government s
choice to make political parties construct exclusively in light of ethnicity and
religious group prompted large portions of Iraq s regular people feeling unrepresented
in government.
The Iraqi government is currently proving insufficient in protecting its nation from
the Islamic State. ISIS s objective is to topple the Iraqi government and establish a
caliphate in Iraq and Syria. ISIS has managed to conquer
Essay on Lithium
Almost everyone has a favorite song, a song that takes them back or sends them
forward to a place and time that is not the present. What makes us pick out our
favorites? What kind of affect does a song have that it requires us to constantly hum
it or sing it at the top of our lungs? While I cannot speak for others without some
kind of group consultation, I can explain the things that make me feel so intensely
about this song, Lithium, preformed by a 1990s grunge rock band, Nirvana, and sung
by Kurt Cobain.
The introduction to this song makes me think of a nursery rhyme. It takes me back to
being a young child singing Ring Around the Rosie and laughing and playing with
others without a care in the world. Though this feeling ... Show more content on

It only takes so much of this before one will encompass within ones own head. Of
course these new friends do not hurt you and you are the happiest you have ever been.
The next line, I m so ugly, but that s okay, cause so are you/ Broke our mirrors
(nirvana music), continues to explain an aggravated state of the songwriter. Also,
a glimmer of hope appears in this line. It reminds us that we are only as ugly as we
think we are. By breaking the mirrors, a freedom from society is stated. There is no
fear of what others think. A reaction to this is in some way straying from the norm.
We have holes in our noses and tattoos and dress differently than the rest. We all
need to break our mirrors and be proud of who we are.
The following line, Sunday morning is everyday for all I care/ And I m not scared
(nirvana music), talks about somebody who either does not believe in God or
believe in going to church on Sundays, or is not afraid to worship in another manner
other than the usual. Sunday is just another day of the week. This person is not
afraid of any repercussions that might be the effect of this activity. This line is also
about having freedoms.
Light my candles/ In a daze/ Cause I ve found god/ Hey, Hey, Hey (nirvana music)
is a continuation of the preceding line. It is difficult to determine what is meant
here. Maybe it is because the songwriter is so surprised to discover God. I see it like
this. The
Controlling Reader Response in the Handmaid s Tale
LONG ESSAY Conventions of a prose text may, to some extent, control reader
response to themes within the text but the reader s context may also influence the
way the text is read. It is particularly evident in Margaret Atwood s novel The
Handmaid s Tale that by examining the experience of women within the world it is
evident that women are more repressed. The characterisation of Offred may control
reader response to theme because her own personal experiences are projected onto
the reader. In Gilead, women are repressed by male power and dominance, shown
when Offred goes to the doctor for her monthly obligatory tests. She says, The
knowledge of his power hangs in the air . Offred s experiences, and the experiences
of the women around... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is predominantly shown in the form of the Keynote speaker Professor James
Darcy Pieixoto. He declares that they held out no hope of tracing the narrator
herself directly . This symbolises the lack of interest in searching for the creator of
the text. He comments that she does not see fit to supply us with her original name
which is a similar attitude the males in the Gileadean society had for women.
Pieixoto then comments that if we could identify the elusive Commander ...at least
some progress would have been made . This suggests that he sees the Commander
as a more important and more reliable source because he is male. His preference
for the Commander s information is shown again when he says what we wouldn t
give, now, for even twenty pages or so of printout from Waterford s private
computer! His sarcasm is shown in the comment however, we must be grateful for
any crumbs the Goddess of History has designed to vouchsafe us. His concern for
only the male s information is a reflection of the text, suggesting that even in 2195,
women are still repressed, and people haven t learnt form the past. The Handmaid s
Tale is a text constructed in such a way that readers are restricted in how they may
view the text. Through the characterisation of the narrator readers are restricted in
what they can obtain from the text, by her own individual experiences being enforced
onto the reader. The narrator
Changes In Pepe
Pepe, the nineteen year old protagonist in John Steinbeck s short story Flight ,
changes both physically and mentally on many occasions during his journeys. He first
changes, mostly mentally and less physically, when he learns about his impending
trip into Monterey from Mama. Later, Pepe drastically changes physically, yet little
mentally, upon his return from Monterey. Lastly during his journey into the
mountains, Pepe changes significantly both physically and mentally. The idea of
manhood plays an important part in this story since its role is central to Pepe s
development. The oldest manin the family, Pepe does not take his position seriously,
but rather he acts childish and maintains a materialistic view of the world. Before his
adventure, Mama gives the first description of Pepe when she calls him so lazy that
she claims... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Speaking of mental change, Pepe s idea of what a man does and acts noticeably
changes along his adventures. Similar to his original mental attitude, which
focused solely on material possessions, he first believes that a man is defined by
his possessions, his hat, handkerchief, horse and least of all actions. Then, on his
return from Monterey he tells Mama that the man said name to me [Pepe] that I
[Pepe] could not allow (135). Pepe s reasoning is that he is a man now, and so he
must protect his manhood violently when it is insulted. The last change in his
definition of manhood occurs just before Pepe dies, when he physically stands up
and faces his death boldly and bravely. Commonly, people today associate manhood
with violence, strength, and possessions, just like Pepe does. This is not a true
representation of adulthood. As an adult, it is responsibility, sacrifice, and maturity
that differentiate a man from a boy. It is not how a person appears or acts, but rather
their reasoning and drive that define
Where To Invade Next Michael Moore Analysis
In Where to Invade Next a satirical documentary, Michael Moore compares U.S.
public policies to european countries like Italy and France. In this documentary
Moore uses what seems to be strong logos until you realize that he is card stacking.
He also uses quite a bit of pathos as he talks about things in other countries that we
would love to have in the U.S. like 8 weeks paid vacation or free college tuition.
Michael Mooreis trying to persuade the U.S. to be more like it was supposed to be
when it was created. Like how you should with any argument he starts off by
building up his ethos. In the movie Moore states that all of America s generals
came to him for help saying that they Had not won a war since WWII. Moore told
them to take a break and send everyone on a vacation while he... Show more content

First he shows us a working class Italian couple and how they go on multiple
vacations a year because everyone in Italy gets 8 weeks paid vacation. He then
talks to the Italian couple about their daily life and how they get paid for 13
months of work in a 12 month year, and how women get paid maternity leave.
Even with all of these vacations and time off Italy is only ranked slightly below
the U.S. in productivity, that s because when you are well rested and relaxed you
produce much higher quality stuff and get more done then if you where tired and
overworked. This looks amazing! Like there could be no downside to this
argument, we should just pick it up immediately and bring this to America. But
what Moore fails to do it tell what this has done to the Italian economy. Italy is
currently undergoing huge economic reform because of the amount of money it
takes to fund their vacations. Italy currently has one of the worst GNPs in the world
with an annual growth rate of 1.9%. They also have an unimportant rate of 12%. If
we adopted this in the U.S. It would have even worse effects because of our increased

Additionally, there are 57 stands or aprons domestic and regional operations and 41
aprons for international and freight operations.
The airfield of Sydney Airport has been modified and expanded in response to
traffic growth and changes to aircraft size and fleet mix. The airfield is inclusive of
parallel runways along with the east west runway, north south runway, aircraft
parking as well as taxiways. The north south runway, the parallel runway and the east
west runway is 3,962, 2,438 and 2,530 meters long respectively. ILS (Instrument
Landing Systems) are established through all runways, whereas north south runways
are equipped with HIAL, i.e. High Intensity Approach Lighting. The parallel runways
are supported by RETs, i.e. Rapid Exit Taxiways to diminish occupancy time. In order
to facilitate the efficient movement of aircraft between terminals and runways, a
taxiway system is linked to the runways.
Specifically, a range of aircraft codes accommodates the Sydney Airport s operations,
including:
пЃ¶Code C: A320 and B737;
пЃ¶Code D: B767;

пЃ¶Code F: A380 (operated from T1, i.e. International Terminal)
Overall, every operation of the Sydney International Airport is focused at providing
transportation service. Therefore, its vision is to foster the development of Sydney
Airport by delivering a world class airport
Wife Of Bath Argument
In the beginning of the prologue, the Wife of Bath implements herself as an
authority of marriage because she has been married five times. She is justifying her
experiences against biblical authority, and interprets scripture in her own distinct
way. Given the time period in which this narrative is being told, the biblical
references that she uses were necessary in providing a valid argument. Women did
not have much say in that time; therefore, anything they said did not interest the
public. She uses those biblical references to make her points interesting, to make
people pay attention to what she has to say, even if her references are not all
plausible. The genre leans more towards a confessional, but the problem is that she
defends her sinful... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The troubling issue is that none of them were women who had multiple husbands, so
her references are more in support of gender equality, which was not truly existent in
her time, rather than the justification of multiple marriages.
The Wife of Bath refers to several lexical sets of quantities and numbers to illuminate
her point that it does not matter how many husbands she should have in her lifetime,
and that there is no upon this nombre diffinicioun. The focus of the fyve, fifthe,
bigamye, and octogamye is to bring to focus that it should not be a concern of how
manye housbondes myghte she have in mariage. These words of nombres help
express her argument more effectively, as she cannot find anything to support her
having multiple husbands from the
Lost And Lord Of The Flies Comparison Essay
There are many similarities in the two books even tho they are separated by 50 or so
years. The Lord of the Flies takes place in the 50 s on a deserted island during a
nuclear war. Where Lost also takes place on deserted island but during the 2000 s.
The people in both books Lost and Lord of the Flies both arrived by a plane crash.
Then they both had leaders in the books, Ralph in Lord of the flies and Jack in Lost.
They both have so called beast on the island in Lost they never really see the beast,
but have wild animals on the island like a polar bear and wild boar. And in Lord of
the Flies the beast is a figment of their imagination. And in both books the deaths are
what makes them even more interesting and whether they are consider murder. In the
book Lord of the Flies Simon was had died and whether it was an accident or not he
did not deserve to die. They had been on their toes all the time about the beast, what
it was, and how to killit, but the beast was in their mind the whole time and Simon
was the only one who knew it. The boys were weary about any kind of movement
when they were hunting for the beast. They were anxious to get rid of it that when
Simon stumbled over an edge they assumed that he was the beast and they all

Overall, this news program covered crime, sports, weather, family stories, and
international politics. Like the newspaper, the news program also showed the
Facebook killing and the rise in tension between North Korea and the United
States. Unlike the newspaper, the news program reported on a greater amount
criminal stories, community events, and a more in depth look at the weather. The
main stories covered were two men being placed behind bars for burglary and
robbery in Painesville, a story of an eight year old who caused the death of a one year
old, and the Facebook Killer at large.
First, the two men who were jailed are located in Lakewood County Jail for their
part in a burglary earlier that day in Painesville. The crime resulted in SWAT being
called in after a standoff started between the brothers and the police occurred. This
standoff ended when the SWAT arrived and captured the armed criminals, few
other details were reported on. Next, a brief story covered the death of a one year
old caused by an eight year old. The child was described as a victim of abuse and
neglect, while at a local daycare. Lastly, the new program reported on the Facebook
Killer and his evasion of police in the Cleveland area. This story has dominated the
media from newspaper to television, with newspapers only covering the brief relevant
information while the news program went into greater detail. The information stated
by the news program was more updated than the
Amazon And Starbucks Management Systems
Conviction of Amazon and Starbucks Fortune 500 companies are considered to be
the prevalent and best run businesses across the nation. The status symbol given to
Fortune 500 companies proves that the business is successful and the level of
success for these industries is very few. This paper will address comparing and
contrasting Amazon and Starbucksmanagementsystems and how they support
innovation. In addition, pros and cons of their management system will be addressed
to determine their leadership and cultural differences.
Overarching Leadership Common leadership traits of both Amazon and Starbucks
successful and admired fortune 500 companies are their ability to adapt creatively
and effectively to challenges and change. Strong and active coping skills is how they
recover from setbacks, are open to opinions of other people around them and are
ultimately aware of their strengths and shortcomings (cite).
Innovation at Amazon Incorporated in 1994 (cite), the admiration that comes from
Amazon s relentless focus on good execution and leadership principles is what makes
Amazon such a successful business. The premise that everyone at Amazon is a leader
is the foundation of the leadership approach used in this company. They start with the
customer comes first and then work backwards. Their vigorous strategy is to earn and
keep the trust of their customers. Although attention is high in the area of
competition, they fixate over their customers.

indicated that Corll was lying dead inside the house. After confiscating the pistol

Henley explained that, for almost three years, he and David Brooks had helped

Corll had buried most of his victims in a boat shed in Southwest Houston, and
others at Lake Sam Rayburn and High Island Beach. Henley agreed to accompany
police to Corll s boat shed in Southwest Houston, where he claimed the bodies of

Models of Customer Satisfaction
Models of Customer Satisfaction Adriadne Aaron Hill Peru State College Executive
Summary This paper presents different models of customer satisfaction. Models are
needed in customer satisfaction so that when measurements are taken there is a way
to analyze the results. Companies who want to compete in their field must understand
the purpose of customer satisfaction. The beginning stage of customer satisfaction is
distinguishing between the customer and the consumer. A customer is an individual
or business that purchases a product or service. A consumer is an individual that
actually uses the product or service. Even though research is generally termed
customer service satisfaction as the customer is the purchaser, it is important to...

High performance businesses understand the importance of meeting these demands in
order to retain customers and to build new customer relationships. Businesses that are
mindful of customer satisfaction try to eliminate product and service failures,
exchanges in which the customer experiences losses (Smith, Bolton, Wagner, 1999).
Businesses choose to measure customer satisfaction so that they can determine their
customer loyalty, the business revenue, and costs. Gaining a profit is the ultimate
goal of businesses, however, great businesses focus on the customer, and their needs
and making sure that quality demands are met. There are different models used to
measure customer satisfaction that are dependent upon the particular information
desired. Models can focus on value, quality, performance, and expectations. Models
are needed to analyze the validity of measurements for customer satisfaction.
Literature Review Deros, Rahman, Rahman, Ismail, and Said examined Quality
Function Deployment (QFD). A study was done to measure service quality
performance. Initially the research began with surveying with questionnaires for
feedback. They believed that it was necessary to be able to adapt to the changing
market in order to compete. Study revealed that QFD can be used can be used to
effectively improve in quality, performance, and customer satisfaction (Deros,
Rahman, Rahman, Ismail, Said, 2009).
Cause And Cons, Causes And Effects Of Deforestation
Background
An environmental issue that has been affecting the globe for years is deforestation.
National Geographic defines deforestation as the clearing of forests in the world on
a massive scale, which usually results in damage to the land quality. Each year,
approximately eighteen million acres of forest are destroyed and until date, almost
half of the tropical forests worldwide have been cleared. ( Deforestation: Facts,
Causes Effects )
Causes of Deforestation
There are numerous causes of deforestation, which vary according to region and
purposes, whether natural or manmade. However, generally, the three main reasons
for the destruction of forests are for agricultural purposes, logging and
¬¬urbanization.
Agricultural activity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some common and well known negative effects of it are the greenhouse effect, soil
impoverishment and the loss of biodiversity.
The global crisis of global warming is further heightened because of deforestation.
Forests play a significant role in ensuring that greenhouse gases do not enter the
atmosphere by regulating the air with its natural processes.
Soil impoverishment, is caused during the destruction of forests by increasing the
chances of soil erosion and flooded. Soil erosion is caused by rainfalls and poor
crop growth, as there are no crops protecting and holding the soil together. This
would affect the fertility of the soil due to the depletion in its nutrients. In the long
run, the soil would lose its ability to sustain crops. ( What Are The Benefits of
Forests and the Consequences of Deforestation? )
Also, seventy percent of the world s animals and plants are based in forests.
Deforestation causes the loss of habitat to many of these species, which eventually
lead to their extinction. Approximately 50,000 species are getting extinct each year
due to this. ( Deforestation Effects, Causes, And Examples: Top 10
Examples Of Madness In Tell Tale Heart
Madness is an idea that has been widely explored and theorized throughout the ages,
particularly within Shakespearean literature and other works along those lines. It is
nearly impossible to establish a working definition of madness itself, because there
are so many different forms of madness shown throughout time, as well as different
contexts. It breaks down to subjectivity, along with time and place, and situational
circumstances. In Edgar Allan Poes Tell Tale Heart, a perhaps unusual form of
madness rears it s head, the madness of passion, and how too much exertion on a
single passion may in fact lead to madness. Tell Tale Heart explores the idea of
passion operating as a gateway for madness, which is then followed by a state of
delirium,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Foucault also states that delirium is essentially the most integral part of madness
when he states: this remorse, this belief, this hallucination, these speeches, in short,
this complex of convictions and images which constitutes a delirium. (96) Although
Foucault was referring to an example from Diemerbroek, a man who suffered from
melancholia, it is clear that these same principles are applicable to the
hallucinations and delusions the narrator experiences in Tell Tale Heart. The
heightened sense of hearing for instance, shows that the narrator not only felt that
he or she had a superior sense of hearing that allowed them to hear things the
average human wouldn t hear, such as a person s heartbeat from a distance, or
people having a normal volume level conversation from afar, but it also shows that
the narrator believed that this sense of hearing was real, rather than it being
imagined, which it most likely was. As far as the speeches Foucault is referring to, it
is apparent that the narrator experiences these as well, perhaps not in the traditional
speaking to another person form, but more along the lines of giving the
Mercedes Benz Written Communication
Mercedes Benz is a German automobile manufacturer that is known for luxury
automobiles, buses, and trucks. The German luxury car manufacturer has been
around for more than a century and has outlasted the rough bumps in automobile
history. The brand, represented by the three pointed star, stands for the aspiration to
deliver the best in terms of products, technology and services. Mercedes Benzcars are
seen as some of the best cars in the world, standing as symbols of beautiful quality
and innovative engineering.
Analysis of Mercedes Benz Written Communication
On the Mercedes Benz homepage, if you scroll through it you will see the word
innovation being tossed about constantly. This is because, I believe, Mercedes Benz
wants the consumer to know that they are always innovating their products and they
are the leaders of the automobile industry today, tomorrow and in the future. On their
homepage, the company points to their many achievements over the century since
their conception. More specifically the many firsts they have been pioneers in. For
example, the first motor car was made by Carl Benz, the founder, which forever
changed the way people moved and how that car sparked the legacy of innovation.
By utilizing their history, Mercedes set themselves apart from other automobile
makers as always remaining the first. Continuing forward with their first theme, on
their website they also mention how Bertha Benz, Carl s wife, was the first female
driver in history as

Hurricane Sandy was a devastating storm nicknamed The Frankenstorm . The
Frankenstorm happened from October 19 October 31. Hurricane Sandy was very
catastrophic and damaged lots of properties. The cost of repairs was billions of
dollars. Hurricane Sandy is the second most costly hurricane behind hurricane Katrina
. Hurricane Sandy at night on October 28, 2015.
Hurricanes are large gusts of wind that are concentrated usually in a spiral. There are
three different types of this storm: cyclones, hurricanes and typhoons. Why The
Frankenstorm is called a hurricane is because hurricanes happen in and around the
Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. While the others (Typhoons and cyclones) happen in
other parts of the world in other oceans. Hurricanes are the biggest storms and do
more damage than all of the other storms. The season of these devastating natural
disasters are from June 1st to November 30. If you live near the coast of the
Atlantic or Pacific Oceans make sure you are prepared with the tips that will be
stated later. Hurricanes usually happen over a week, but sometimes hurricanes last
only a few hours, when some last over 3 weeks. Hurricane are named on a six year
rotation of male and female names. These names include Ivan, Katrina, Sandy and
Andrew.
Hurricanes form in a quite interesting way. These storms only form above bodies of
water such as oceans. Where these incredible storms start is

Leadership Style And Leadership Theory
This paper explores five published empirical articles and report results from research
conducted on traits, skills, and characters relationships to leadership and followers.
The paper discusses the common themes and conclusions addressed in all studies.
The articles penned with the intention of examining the impact leadershipstyle and
leadership theory in areas such as individual identity, culture, and worldview. Mahdi,
Mohd, and Almsafir (2014) argue there is a significantly strong relationship between
the leadership behavior and organizational commitment. Also, the paper synthesizes
pool of knowledge on the empirical impact of leadership behaviors on follower s
perceptions. Various aspects of these variables questioned in these articles provide an
extensive and extended comprehensive understanding of the factors that affect groups
and employees in societies.
First article: Effects of Leader intelligence, personality and emotional intelligence on
transformational leadership and managerial performance by Cavazotte, F., Moreno,
V., and Hickmann, M. (2012) share perspectives on emotional intelligence and
leadership traits. Cavazotte et al. (2012) investigate impacts of personality traits and
emotional intelligence on transformational leadership and performance of leaders in
the context of the organization. The study reviewed and built upon the theory of both
whole systems and complex systems, evaluating 134 middle management teams from
an enormous Brazilian Energy company.
The Concepts Of Software Engineering
ABSTRACT
Today Software engineering is the most promising and advanced fields in the market.
So certain methodologies should be applied to make it a persistent and ever
developing in the coming future. This term paper mainly concentrates on the Case
Methods, which provide not only knowledge of software engineering but also the
problem solving and thinking ability among the practitioners. Introducing the
concepts of software Engineering in Educational institutions creates awareness
among the students not only with the knowledge of the subject but also the problems
faced in the real world, which further reduces the burden when they enter the software
industry. This paper focuses on features of CaseMethods, their importance and
benefits to individuals who practice them.
INTRODUCTION
Software Engineering is the way of employing engineering concepts and methods to
analyze the requirements and then design, implement, test and maintain the software
(Laplante 2007). According to Differencebetween.info, in order to perform the above
tasks, a software engineer has to have a complete knowledge of everything right from
understanding the need of software (its end users, applications of the software, its
limitations etc.) to the programming language that is best suited for development of
software and the right way of testing it. So, a software engineer should be well versed
with technological advancements, computer architecture and hardware. Software
engineering is a vast

The Evils of Monarchy and Society in the Works of Mark Twain
In the latter part of his life, Mark Twain developed a deep rooted hatred for society.
His aphorisms often reflect this contempt: Every one is a moon and has a dark side
which he shows to no one (Salwen n.pag.). This disdain for humanity eventually
seated itself in complete disapproval for what he called the damned human race.
Twain s criticism for society appeared in many of his works, growing stronger and
stronger as time passed. Hand in hand with his distaste for society went his hatred for
the upper class. In each of his works, Twain creates a theme of appearance versus
reality and ultimately brings out his harsh criticism of monarchies. Through such ...

In some cases, he proves that he is in fact superior.
It is through the escapades of the prince that Twain brings out his real criticism of
monarchies. As Edward travels through his country, he sees the terror that his laws
bring to the common people. As Kenneth S. Lynn says, the little prince s
adventures are an education in human viciousness and depravity (217). The prince
observes the harshness of English laws when he is in Hugo s dungeons with Sir
Hendon. There he meets two women who are in the dungeons simply because they
are Baptists. At first, the prince is unaware of the laws in his kingdom; he thinks
that the women will be set free soon since they will not keep ye long for such a
little thing (165). The next day, he is taken outside and he saw a spectacle that froze
the marrow in his bones. Fagots had been piled about the two women, and a kneeling
man was lighting them! (167). The prince is horrorstruck at this sight, saying, That
which I have seen in that one little moment will never go out from my memory, but
will abide there...Would God I had been blind! (168).
Even the false king, Tom, witnesses such events. In one passage, he rules on cases
that people bring before him. One man, after being sentenced, begs that he be
executed by hanging. Tom, surprised by this request, asks how the man was to die,
and is shocked to learn that he was to be boiled alive:

Reflection Paper On Simulation
1In the beginning of the semester, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the simulation.
There was a lot of components involved and I wasn t sure how we were going to be
able to accomplish each component successfully. I did feel somewhat excited for
the simulation however, especially since I was working in a group and we had
total control over the decisions we made. My position in the group was to help
with finances since I m a Real Estate major and had more experience with finances.
I am not as strong in this area, but I took it as a challenge and was anxious to see
how my guidance would play out.
2As the semester progressed, I became less nervous about how the simulation
would turn out. The more rounds we completed, the easier making decisions
became. My group members were extremely knowledgeable as well, and they did a
great job at making sound business decisions. I also realized that we all knew more
about finances than we thought so it wasn t all up to me to make those decisions. It
was also a great feeling to see how our decisions impacted our company, whether
positively or negatively because it felt very real.
3As we were going through the simulation, it became clear that a lot of our
predictions weren t very solid and that what actually happened set us back. Being in a
position where you have to make future predictions is difficult as there are a lot of
variables that are out of our control. When we would have stock outs or an excess of
inventory it was due to our

Malcolm X and The Shakespearean Tragic heroes
Aristotle defines a tragic hero as good but flawed, must be aristocratic, must be
believable, and must behave consistently. Aristotle. The Muslim leader Malcolm X
can be compared to such tragic heroes such as Othello and Hamlet. Malcolm s life
and his personality have similar traits from both of the famous Shakespearean
heroes. In this paper we will look deeper into the life of Malcolm X and find the
similarities between him and the tragic heroes, also we will prove that Malcolm X
can also be referred to as one of the great tragic heroes. Malcolm X was born

To understand the phrase tragic flaw we can take it as Aristotle had stated it The
tragic flaw is the most important part of the hero and the events that occur in the
work is a reflection of that flaw. В– Aristotle. So just as in the case of Othello,
Malcolm s tragic flaw is gullibility. Many people because of their personal
magnetism respect both these men. Malcolm is highly respected by many because
of his ability to get results and by the way he is able to gain followers with his
rhetoric. Othello is revered because of his awesome military genius. Malcolm and
Othello both have very high self confidence, which is shown by the way Malcolm
argues beliefs and in the way Othello justifies his marriage to Desdemona. Since
both Othello and Malcolm X came from humble and unsophisticated beginnings
their judgment was somewhat hindered. In the play Othello Iago one of the main
characters sees this in Othello the Moor is of a free and open nature that thinks
men honest that but seem to be so. (1:3:55:442 443). Iago knew of Othello s
weakness. He also knew Othello s innocence and baseness makes him susceptible
to being undermined by people. Othello is clearly a person who believes appearances
versus reality. The role of Iago in Othello s life can be compared to the role of Elijah
Muhammad in Malcolm s life. Malcolm and Othello base their reactions and
decisions solely on the advice of the one who ultimately brings about their end. In
Othello case he doesn t even
Jane Campion s Movie The Piano
Everyone possesses passion inside of them from the time they are born. Some find
it difficult expressing this personal deep feeling while others easily find life
partners that return the same mutual love and affection, getting through any
difficulties that may come in the way of their unity. This theme is expressed in
Jane Campion s movie The Piano. This films main character is Ada (Holly
Hunter), who comes closely to experiencing this fulfillment. Ada is mute but very
articulate through her piano. She chose to not speak by the age of six years old.
She uses the black and white keys of her piano to express her emotions but she also
develops a hand language with her illegitimate daughter, Flora (Anna Paquin). Ada s
father chooses to send her to New Zealandto marry a man she has never met. His
name is Stewart, but he unfortunately doesn t seem to understand Ada as do Baines,
and English born Maori. Baines is Stewart s aid in negotiations with the Maori
people who own most of New Zealand s rainforest, where he lives. In the 19th
century the Catholic religion was a great influence on everyone s life. Catholicism
strongly influenced honoring ones parents so Ada never objected to going away to
New Zealand but she did throw all of that out the window when she fell in love with
Baines. Ada s movement away from her religion is shown in the opening scene of
this film.
In the opening scene of The Piano, we are shown and abstract image through Ada s

Are tall buildings necessary for London to remain a competitive world city?
On February 10, 2004 mayor of London Ken Livingstone introduced the London
Plan, the first proactive strategy in over thirty years to deal specifically with the
planning and development of London. Since an increase in London s population by
800,000 is expected by the year 2020 , the mayor has suggested the construction of
high rise buildings as the method most likely to enable London to grow in a
controlled and steady manner and maintain its status as a world city. A key part of
the plan, the mayor s proposal for high density towers throughout the city, has
heightened the debate between urban planners and heritage groups as to whether the

Paul s cathedral . Claims such as these have held together London s existing
developmental plan, the Views Policy, which is for the large part unorganized and
reactive; the plan dictates where tall buildings should not be placed rather than where
they could best be placed, which has resulted in London s fragmented and uneven
skyline . Thus far, the plan has served these groups well and they have effectively
prevented the construction of tall buildings that could potentially obstruct views of
London landmarks.
In place of tall, high density towers, suggestions have been made by some heritage
groups for the construction of a greater number of smaller and more compact high
density buildings. Even though smaller buildings would help to preserve the views
of London s major landmarks, they would not be built in the best interest of the city.
Since there is a lack of available land in the city and low rise, high density complexes
require more land than tall, high density towers, the only way to construct these
developments would be to expand outward. An outward expansion would not only be
expensive, requiring a development of infrastructure in those areas strong enough to
support new businesses, but almost entirely impractical due to London s poor
transport system. Even though half a million London workers live in the suburbs and
depend on the radial rail system that links them to the center of the city, the system as
a whole is expensive, heavily congested and wasteful; it
Insect Sting Allergies
Tips For Dealing With Insect Sting Allergies
Being allergic to a stinging insect like a wasp or fire ant can be challenging. The
insects are everywhere outdoors and can get inside your car or house, making it
difficult to avoid contact with them. However, there are a few things you can do to
minimize your risk of being stung. Even more importantly, you ll want to know what
steps to take to deal with an allergic reaction if it happens. Here are some tips that
may help.
Protect Yourself Outdoors
If you ve had an allergic reaction to a sting in the past, you should consider having
allergy testing to determine which insects you need to avoid. That s because the bugs
have different nesting places. If you re allergic to fire ants, you ll definitely ... Show

Your reaction can happen quickly, so you ll need immediate treatment as soon as
it happens. For that reason, your allergist may give you a prescription for
epinephrine that comes in an injectable pen. You should keep it near you at all
times, so if you re stung by a bee or bitten by a fire ant, you can inject the
medication right away. Using one of these pens could save your life and buy you
time while you wait for help to arrive. You should still call for an ambulance or get
to an emergency room as soon as you can for further treatment.
In addition, if you ve had a bad allergic reaction to a sting in the past, you should
consider wearing a medical alert tag that lets first responders know about your
condition. You may want to use the buddy system when you go outdoors,
especially if you go on a picnic or hike in the woods, so there will always be
someone to call for help if you get stung. And finally, never let your guard down.
There could be a hornet on your soda can or a line of fire ants marching up your
picnic table. Always remember to check your surroundings wherever you go since
insects are everywhere and they are attracted to human
Zachary Taylor Compromise Of 1850
Zachary Taylor, elected in 1849, only served sixteen months in office as president
of the United States. Zachary Taylor was a commemorated war general for his
roles within the War of 1812, the Black Hawk War, Seminole Wars, and the
Mexican War. Yet, it was only after the Mexican War did he get public recognition
and received a nomination by the Whig Party for president. Taylor never officially
finished his education and never seemed to particularly care for politics. Besides
his own election, he had never voted and he did not even vote for himself. Taylor
was a peculiar candidate, he had no political experience whatsoever and to be
potentially be a president shocked many. Fortunately for him, former president
Martin Van Buren caused a split of votes between himself and Lewis Cass. He also
happened to be slave owner, which appealed to many Southerners. It wasn t until he
was elected that his ideals were revealed. Due to his time with the army, he had a
strong nationalist ideology as his main goal was to preserve the unity of the Union.

mood and abnormal and persistent increase of goal directed activity or energy that
lasts more than a week (DSM 5). Most of the time, the client presents with inflated
self esteem and grandiosity (DSM 5). In addition, only three hours of sleep may be
enough for the patient to feel rested because he/she has a drecreased need for sleep
(Tracy, 2012). Usually, the person presents with a pressure to talk without taking
any break and is seen more talkative than he/she frequently is (DSM 5). Another

Even though most of the patients fully return to a functional level between the crises,
approximately 30% of them report having severe difficulties in their work role
function (Goodwin Jamison, 2007). When the patient has acute mania, Haloperidol is
the most used medication for its properties of rapid sedation (Goodwin Jamison,
2007). Another medication that is used is IM olanzapine to calm acute manic
agitation (Goodwin Jamison, 2007). When the patient has extreme hyperactivity,
typical antipsychotics are used to relieve symtoms of dehydration and
cardiovascular stress (Goodwin Jamison, 2007). Lithium is a very common
medication given to a patient with manic episodes (Goodwin Jamison, 2007). One
important aspect to take into account with Lithium is that the dose should be
administered downward as the mania starts to diminish to keep the blood level in
a reasonable range (Goodwin Jamison, 2007). Bipolar disorser can be severe and
long term, or it can be mild with frequent episodes (Simon, 2013). Patients with
bipolar disorder frequently have higher rates of death from suicides, heart problems
than the rest of the population (Simon, 2013). On the other hand, a patient that
receives treatment has a greater chance of survival (Simon, 2013). Based on the

With normative stakeholder theory one tries to explain (in these settings) why football
clubs should take into account the interests of the stakeholders. It is easy to
sympathize with the customer group in this matter. They are the foundation stone
that has built the club through the years and they have invested money, emotions and
their private time. But they are not as important as they once was for the club. This
given that another stakeholder group (Suppliers e.g. broadcasting companies,
sponsors etc.) now serves the business with monetary funding s, hence the times have
changed. Ultimately though, the suppliers will almost certainly vanish if the
customers stop buying the product. Shareholders and employees can easier than the
customers in this case find another business to join, they are not exclusive in the
same way as the customers.
The descriptive stakeholder theory can also be useful to the settings in trying to
state whether and how the football clubs do listen to the stakeholder s interests. Also
in this context the clubs can rely on their loyal customer base. Even though if you
treat them bad (expensive tickets, changing the club badge and colors etc.) they will
not ultimately stop buying the product. You might however as a owner/ shareholder
have a customer rebellion on your hands. Shareholders can more easily sell their
stocks if they feel neglected by the club, suppliers will search for other
Fashion s Influence On Fashion
When one thinks of a genre they think of a book or a type of music. Genre can be
thought of as a category of art. Fashion is a form of art, artists everyday are
creating works that they feel people will wear and like. Fashion is a huge industry
with thousands of designers that makes billions of dollars per year. Whether people
realize it or not, every single person has a sense of style and has their own taste in
clothing. With fashionthere are different genres ranging from chic to bohemian to
sporty. Along with different genres of fashion, there are different genres of brands.
With these two genres combined, an examination of the correlation of the brands
with the style of fashion will be examined. The first genre of fashion we are going
to examine is a style called chic . Chic is a French word that means classy. When
the word chic crosses my mind, I picture a girl standing in the streets of New York
City dressed up from head to toe looking her finest. Most chic clothes cover the
body of the person wearing them and makes them look a bit classier than others.
BB Dakota is a brand that is considered chic, it is on the lower of the scale of prices
of clothes. Most of their clothes have been seen in top boutiques and in department
stores. Celebrities such as Taylor Swift and others have been seen wearing this
brand. It was first founded 30 years ago in Southern California by a French designer.
She limits the buyers of her clothing because she wants them to be unique and
Reaction Paper On Cellular Respiration
Cellular respiration is the oxidation of organic compounds that occurs within cells,
producing energy for cellular processes (Dictionary.com, 2017) . The process of
cellular respiration occurs in three phases. The first process is called Glycolysis and
is the breakdown of glucose in the cytoplasm. The next process is the pyruvate
molecules transported into the mitochondria (aka powerhouses of the cells), the
pyruvate are then converted into 2 carbon molecules and enter the Krebs cycle.
Finally the energy enters the electron transport chain and the energy is used to
produce ATP (CK 12, 2017). The lungs co operate with cellular respiration as the
lungs produce oxygenwhich is vital in helping the process of turning glucose into ATP.
The process of the respiratory system begins at the nasal cavity and mouth where air
is inhaled. The air then passes through the sinuses located in the skull which
regulate the humidity and temperature as someone breathes (Zimmermann, Live
Science, 2016). The air is filtered in the trachea (windpipe) and then enters the
lungs through a system of pipes called the bronchi. The bronchi are located at the
end of the trachea as the left or right bronchi. The bronchi branch throughout the
lungs eventually forming thin walled air sacs or bubbles, known as the alveoli (
Respiratory System, 2017). In the alveoli gas exchange takes place between the air
and blood. Covering each alveolus is a network of blood vessel called capillaries,
which are small
Hawthorne Romanticism
Nathaniel Hawthorne was born on the 4th of July, 1804 in Salem, Massachusetts to
Nathaniel and Elizabeth Clark Hathorne (Manning). He was an American writer
who specialized in writing short stories and romance novels. Among his many
works are, The Scarlet Letter, The House of Seven Gables, and Young Goodman
Brown. Just like the works of Herman Melville and Edgar Allan Poe, much of
Hawthorne s works laid emphasis on the imperfect nature of human beings. The
imperfect nature of humans, he believed, was responsible for the tendency for men
and women of good hearts to commit sin and fall into despicable situations.
Hawthorne s works can be classified as a sub genre of Dark Romanticism, which
highlights the unintended consequences and complications that arise from well

Before Hawthorne, literature was considered a major tool used to elevate the
human spirit. However, according to Henry James (an American writer who
moved to England and became a British subject), what most appealed to Hawthorne
s imagination was the old secret of mankind in general... the secret that we are
really not by any means so good as a well regulated society requires us to appear.
According to of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, civilization requires people to
suppress and deny their aggressive and sexual impulses, which leads to inner
conflict, guilt, and in some individuals to neurosis and psychosis. This is the area
of human consciousness that Hawthorne explored even before Freud was even
born. Hawthorne approached this topic in a guarded way, which is the reason why
his works are so full of allegory and symbolism. However, some of his predecessors
like Stephen King had no such reservations in his style of

Shake Hands with the Devil The movie Shake Hands with the Devil is a true story
about the brutal history of the Rwandan genocide. It is originally a book that was

served as a force commander of UNAMIR (United Nations Assistance Mission for
Rwanda). The movie shows tragic scenes of how the feud between the Hutus and

around the world like in Syria, or Yemen. These two countries do not have the same
history as the Rwandan genocide, however the fact that there are many
fundamentalists involved in the killing of numerous people in the three countries

Milton Friedman Essay
Milton Friedman
Milton Friedman is known as one of the top economists in the world. He has a Ph.
D. from Columbia University, won a Noble Memorial Prize in economics and has
also been awarded many honorary degrees by other Universities in the
United States. As you can tell, Milton Friedman has played a significant part in
helping to solve the economy problems of the world. You ve probably heardall about
his accomplishments and awards he has received, but what about how Milton
Friedman played a very important role in helping us get into a huge national debt?
This paper will discuss how Milton Friedman played a negative role in our economy.
When the Great Depression hit worldwide, it was up to the economists to explain it

In seven short years, under the Keynesian policy, the U.S. went from the greatest
depression it has ever known to the greatest economic boom it has ever known.
The success of Keynesian economics was so astounding that almost all capitalist
governments around the world started using it. And the result was the extinction
of the economic depression! Before World War II, eight U.S. recessions worsened
into depressions (1807, 1837, 1873, 1882, 1893, 1920, 1933, and 1937). Since World
War II, under Keynesian policies, there have been nine recessions (1945 46, 1949,
1954, 1956, 1960 61, 1970, 1973 75, 1980 83, 1990 92
), but not one has turned into a depression. The success of Keynesian economics was
such that even Richard Nixon once said, quot;We are all Keynesians now(Keynes,
289). quot;
Well, that was the theory the governments were using at the time to control the
economy. Obviously there were some people who objected against use of this theory.
One of them was Milton Friedman.
He believed that the only function the government should be allowed is to control the
circulation of cash. Although he accepted Keynes definition of recessions, he rejected
the cure. He believed that the government should butt out of the business of
expanding or contracting the money supply. It should keep the money supply steady,
expanding it slightly each year only to allow for the growth of the economy and a

Bobtail Squid Symbiotic Essay
Symbiotic relationships are those that evolve between two organisms that interact in
a specific manner with each other. These can range from being facultative, where the
relationship is not required by either organism, to interactions that are obligate and
are required by both organisms to facilitate survival. There are many mechanisms and
processes that bacteriaand their hosts can use to initiate and maintain symbiotic
interactions and a few examples will be described in this report.
Vibrio fisheri Euprymna scolopes (bobtail squid) symbiosis
The bioluminescent bacteria Vibrio fischeri forms a highly specific symbiotic
relationship with Euprymna scolopes, a species of bobtail squid. V.fischeri will
colonize a complex light organ found in the mantle cavity of the bobtail squid and
they use the ability to luminesce as a camouflage method to avoid predation. The
squid uses bioluminescence to match the down welling moonlight during the night
whilst it is active. In return, V.fischeri is provided with a shelter, protection and
nutrients (1). V.fischeri is able to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was hypothesised as the Buchnera does not have any motor protein genes in its
genome, however there are many flagella like structures covering the cell therefore
acting as secretion systems. The regulation of the synthesis of essential amino acids
by Buchnera is not understood in great detail but it is believed that it is controlled by
the amount of precursors made available to the bacteria from the host cell. These
precursors include glucose as a carbon source, four non essential amino acids, serine,
aspartate, glutamate and glutamine, to act as precursors for the essential amino acids
and guanosine nucleotides which are involved in purine synthesis. Varying the
concentrations and availability of these compounds gives the host cell the ability to
control and coordinate Buchnera activity.
Obesity Epidemic Of The United States Essay
Recent Obesity Outbreak in America Obesity has rapidly emerged as a serious
health issue in America. The cause of obesity results from America s social
injustices. Today, food advertisements are in all places promoting an unhealthy
lifestyle. Considering the great expense of healthy foods, low income families can
barely afford fruits and vegetables. These two factors contribute to the increasing
obesity rate in the United States. Unfortunately, it has taken an excessive amount
of Americans to become obese for America to become aware of the issue and take
action. Although obesity is still an increasing problem, America is fighting to
reduce the number of obese citizens. As a result of low income and the media
advertising unhealthy lifestyles, America is in the midst of an obesity epidemic.
Obesity, the condition of being severely overweight, is a serious issue in the United
States that is gradually beginning to affect more and more citizens. In recent years,
the number of Americans suffering from this chronic disease has significantly
increased. Researchers have found that nearly one third of the U.S. population is
considered overweight and, on average, three hundred thousand individuals die
yearly as a result of obesity (Hollands et al. 2). When one participates in little to no
physical activity and their diet consists mostly of high fat foods, chances are they
will gain weight. If someone becomes obese, they may develop serious health related
issues that, in some cases,
Taking a Look at Professional Procrastination
By definition, the act of procrastinating is to postpone an event until a later time. We
as humans have all delayed something in our lives, either related to school, work, or
social activities. Although anything in life has the potential to be postponed or put
off until the last minute, procrastination is more commonly seen in schools and
colleges among students. There are several reasons why students put off assignments,
but, the main reason is that they do not take pleasure in doing their homework. Even
though some students are unsuccessful in their dawdling, many students are often
successful and benefit from saving coursework until the last minute . Taking a look at
this process, we can see that procrastinating may actually save time and energy.
The first step in the procrastination process is to make a conscious decision to
postpone a project until a later date. Upon receiving a homework assignment,
students will often look over what they will be asked to do. If they are discontented
by what they are presented with, thoughts such as I do not want to do this or I will
do this later will spring up in their brain. After a student has either of the previous
thoughts, they then put the assignment in their folder or binder and do not touch it
until later. Frequently a student has no motivation to begin an essay, for example,
right after receiving the prompt because there is no pressure to complete it in a short
time. Since there is no drive to work on the essay, the
Never Give Up In Heat, By Mike Lupica
The book Heat was written by Mike Lupica and was a very inspiring book. In the
book, this young boy named Michael, who was going through something really
awful and he just wanted to give up. After the incident Michael wanted to mope

bad happens never give up because in the end something wonderful could come out
of it. In the beginning of the book, Michael was an all star baseballpitcher. Game after
game he pitched very excellent even though they re only allowed so many pitches
a week because they are in little league. Michael is a twelve year old boy that can
pitch eighty miles per hour. Michael saw this bad kid running from the cops, so
Michael throws the ball from home plate all the way past the field and hit the guy in

Victorian Society During The Victorian Era
The Victorian period spawned a spiritualist movement, abandoning ordinary religion.
The movement, which ran from 1837 to 1901, was named after Queen Victoria.
Economic activity increased as the period saw the rise of the industrial revolution
and advancements in various technologies: steamships, electric power, and
telephones. A prevalent aspect of the time was child labor, which was considerably
cheaper than conventional adult workers (Mullan). Likewise, women in the
Victorian period were often treated as second class citizens and needed to contend
for basic human rights. The literature of this period was quite distinct, often dealing
with new and unique topics such as: class, gothic, politics, and romanticism. Many
authors during the time expressed an extreme amount of passion in their writing,
occasionally including personal conflicts. The Victorian period was the first step to
social diversity, in a time where literary criticism was on the rise, and social classwas
more important than ever. The unjust social conditions that many authors faced
during the Victorian eracontinues to inspire literary innovations. Victorian life was
always subject to change, which constantly involved politics and technology. The
introduction of the steam engine prompted a factory boom, requiring an abundant
amount of coal to be mined. With this influx of jobs, came in equal amount of
citizens willing to work. Since society had shifted towards an industrial age, farmers
migrated from their
The Issue Of Violence Against Women
Violence against women includes many kinds of harmful physical, emotional, and
sexual behaviors against women and girls that are most often displayed by a family
member, or at times by strangers. Violence against women is a growing worldwide
issue yet it s still a hidden problem. Most of us have a hard time imagining the
concept of violence against women. The freedom from threat of harassment, battering,
and sexual assault is hard to grips. Violenceis a deep part of our culture and our
everyday lives. The problem of violence against women rages all over the world and
is a crisis in almost all societies. In the past, this problem was called domestic
violencebut has recently changed to violence against women. The term domestic
violence does not demonstrate that almost all cases of domestic abuse are men
injuring women. How important is the issue of violence against women to the
citizen of American? Many people simply do acknowledge the impact and
importance that it has on the female population in the United States. Although there
are many other important concerns to focus on, this issue is often overlooked and
pushed to the side. Picking this topic was important to me, because I dealt with
domestic abuse for many years from a former partner. Before experiencing such a
difficult hardship I didn t have much knowledge on this topic. Most women don t
believe they could be ever be a victim of domestic abuse. According to

Plan For Start Jo s Training
Fitness Client: Jo
Rationale: Beginning this new fitness regime, I decided to start Jo s training off
with a highly effective run/walk workout on every other day of the week, with
morning yoga to increase flexibility and strength. I believe that by combining a run
for a specified amount of time (gradually increasing over the months) with short
rests in between, Jo will be able to increase her stamina and work toward her goal of
a 10k. In addition, I have incorporated moderate intensity workouts every Tuesday of
the month targeting specific areas of the body and increasing their overall strength.
The number/duration of each exercise is dependent on the abilities of Jo herself, but

As for the run/walk workouts, they will begin to decrease in duration at
approximately the second week of August. The length of the strength training
workouts is going to remain the same (45 minutes) in order for Jo to continue
increasing the overall strength of her muscles. In addition, with the tapering of the
runs, Jo can begin preparing to return to school (as she is a teacher) after the summer
holidays, however, with this additional time Jo should ensure that a balance is
maintained between her career and her activity goals.
Rationale: Jo s new fitness regime requires a healthy nutrition plan to go along with
it. I have designed each day of the week to begin with a variation of the same type
of breakfast in order to keep it interesting, nutritious and offer Jo new experiences.
Lunch and dinner both incorporate ingredients that result with approximately a
1:3 ratio between grams of carbohydrates and protein, which is supposed to be
excellent for replenishing energy after an intensive workout. Many of the meals
include high glycemic index foods like rice, potatoes, and pasta because their
carbohydrates (primarily in the form of glucose) are the easiest for the body to break
down and use to refuel muscles. By pairing these side dishes with a lean meat like
chicken or turkey, or even seafood, Jo s post workout meals will meet all of her
needs. Finally, I have also
Plato s The Allegory Of The Cave
The Allegory of the Cave demonstrates true knowledge and evidence. The moral of
the story is about people in a cave bound to a wall. They only see shadows on the
walls of humans carrying artifacts. They believe what they can see and what they
know, nothing else. It would be impossible to create new ideas in your mind or
imagine a new color. A man is released, no longer seeing the shadows he saw, but
new things he had never seen or known. He was overwhelmed knowing the sun
could be creating the shadows on the walls or seeing a color he had never seen
before. The prisoner would most likely return to the cave to tell the other prisoners
what he saw. The other prisoners most likely would not believe him. They have
believed the same thing forever... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The escaped prisoner represents a philosopher, Plato, because he was able to escape
what he knew to help people to discover the truth. Plato would reveal the truth, but
was he put to death for revealing the truths.Plato was able to escape the cave and
had seen beyond and was never satisfied to go back. He tried to reveal and reason
with the others to help them escape. Only a few would follow but most would stay,
trapped in the cave.Plato/Socrates starts off saying human beings as though they
were in an underground cavelike dwelling... . He does not mean an actual cave,
but a mind entrapment. You are told one thing, yet you discover it s not true and
your whole life has been a lie. He goes on saying legs and necks in bonds so that
they are fixed, seeing only in front of them, unable because of the bond to turn their
heads all they way around. The bonds are the lies we have been told keeping us
away from the truth. When we are little we are told about Santa, the Easter Bunny,
the Tooth Fairy, etc, yet they are not real. We believe in those fiction character
because that s what we have known our whole life. We don t know anything else
other than what we told as
The Strain Theory
In the November attack on Paris, the terrorist group, ISIS, carried out a coordinated
set of attacks. There are many different theories as to why this happened, but the
realization is that society will probably never know the answer as to why it
occurred. The Strain Theory can assist in the explanation of the reasoning behind this
attack. This will be brought into further detail in the discussion of two topics. The
first topic is that the extremist is just doing what they do best, or was trained to do.
Another reason may be that the military group is tired of being at the low end of the
global Jihad, or extremist military group. These are only suggestions; nevertheless
using the Strain Theory can assist society in understanding the true reason... Show

The historical aspect when dealing with the theory, explains the foundation and

explaining how it pertains to certain individuals or groups of people. The future of
the theory seems to that it will always have a use in society because it can always
assist in the explanation of why someone or some group committed a crime. Through
the use of the Strain Theory, the Paris, France attacks were explained through great
detail in why or what the extremist group s motives were. The Strain Theory assists
in the explanation of almost any crime that can be committed or be thought of. This
theory has been used over the last century and will continue to serve its purpose to the
general public and the criminal justice
The Environment Of The Sea Ocean
Over 70 percent of the world is covered in water. Water plays a huge part in our
world, whether the water makes our plants grow that feed our animals and plants
that we eat to the water that grows the trees we use to build our infrastructure, or
heat our homes with to providing a huge underwater world known as the Ocean and
water also is the main reason us, humans, are alive. We need water to live, without
water humans would not be able to survive. With this being said water runs our lives.
Humans which live on land also rely on life from the ocean for food. Humans must
keep the water pollution levels at normal levels or else the water will taint the animals
they use for food. The animals are not the only thing they have to worry about
polluting in the Ocean. Other pollutants like CO2 and other greenhouse gases make
the ocean waters fluctuate. This fluctuation affects the Climate.
The ocean waters are responsible for heating the planet. Although the land masses of
the world (continents) also receive the same amount of sunlight, there is much more
water than land, therefore the water absorbs most of the suns light. How the basics
of how this works is water evaporates into the air rising upwards. While this
evaporation is occurring the temperature rises as well as the humidity forming rain
and storms to develop. This is how hurricanes form in the tropics. The tropics are the
most variable for storms because of the warm waters. The warmer the waters are the
more likely there

order to live with them instead. The adopted child may also go through a plethora of

Narrative Style of Truman Capote s In Cold Blood
In Cold Blood Narrative Style Capote s structure in In Cold Blood is a subject that
deserves discussion. The book is told from two alternating perspectives, that of the
Clutter family who are the victims, and that of the two murderers, Dick Hickock and
Perry Smith. The different perspectives allow the reader to relive both sides of the
story; Capote presents them without bias. Capote masterfully utilizes the third person
omniscient point of view to express the two perspectives. The non chronological
sequencing of some events emphasizes key scenes. The victims, the murderers, the
victims, the murderers,... this is the pattern throughout the first two of the three parts
of In Cold Blood. During these first two parts of the... Show more content on

This nonfiction work is for the most part unbiased. Capote s extensive research on
this real life event is not marred by his own personal feelings about the crime
committed. The fact that he tells both sides of the story adds to the objectivity.
Capote doesn t render judgment for two reasons: it is important for the reader to
draw conclusions about the philosophical sociological psychological circumstances
of the mass murder, and Capote concluded that there should be no interference with
the readers judgmental process (Reed 107). The narrator, up to the criminals day
of execution, shows no bias whatsoever; the trial could have been an easy
opportunity for the narrator to express his own opinions on how the criminals
should be punished. Capote is adamant in giving the facts to the reader directly and
letting the reader formulate his or her own opinion. For example, of the death
sentence, Capote writes, In March 1965, after [Perry] Smith and [Dick] Hickock
had been confined in their death row cells almost two thousand days, the Kansas
Supreme Court decreed that their lives must end between midnight and 2:00 A.M.,
Wednesday, April 14, 1965 (336). The third person point of view also reaffirms
Capote s neutrality. In addition, this viewpoint adds credibility to the piece of
literature because there are few, if any, dissenting opinions of

Life Lesson Essays. Life Lessons Essay Example Topics and Well Written Essays - 256 words

  • 1. Life Lesson Essays Writing an essay on the topic of "Life Lesson Essays" can be both a challenging and rewarding experience. On one hand, the vastness of life lessons provides a plethora of material to explore, making it difficult to narrow down the focus. Life lessons come in various forms – personal experiences, observations, teachings from others, and even fictional narratives. Selecting the right life lesson and weaving it into a coherent and engaging essay can be a demanding task. Moreover, delving into personal experiences often requires introspection, which can be emotionally taxing. Reflecting on one's life lessons requires a level of vulnerability and self- awareness that might make the writing process challenging. Articulating these experiences in a way that resonates with the reader while maintaining a sense of universality adds another layer of difficulty. Crafting an effective life lesson essay involves striking a balance between storytelling and conveying a deeper meaning. It requires the writer to go beyond merely recounting events and explore the underlying principles and insights gained from those experiences. Connecting with the audience on a personal and emotional level is crucial, as it allows the reader to relate to the lessons being shared. In addition, addressing the significance of the chosen life lesson and its broader applicability can be complex. The essay should not only communicate the personal growth and transformation resulting from the experience but also offer insights that others can apply to their own lives. Despite the challenges, writing about life lessons can be immensely rewarding. It allows the writer to share wisdom, inspire others, and contribute to a collective understanding of the human experience. The process of crafting such an essay can be a journey of self-discovery and a means of imparting valuable knowledge to a wider audience. In conclusion, tackling the topic of "Life Lesson Essays" requires navigating the complexities of personal reflection, storytelling, and universal connection. It demands a careful balance between the deeply personal and the broadly relatable. While challenging, the process can be incredibly enriching, offering both the writer and the reader a shared exploration of the profound lessons life has to offer. • 2. Terrorism And The Iraqi Government Iraq is a nation that is in mass turmoil right now. Right now this country is under attack by a jihadist militant group known as ISIS. Despite numerous advantages over these terrorist ISIS has managed to take control over a significant amount of territory in Iraq. The root of Iraq s problems is the strong Sunni Shia sectarian divide that exist within the country. This sectarian divide is due to an Iraqi government that fails to fairly represent all of its people. Clearly the current troubled state of Iraq shows that the Iraqi government is deficient in providing national security and representative government to its people. The Iraqi government has failed to implement a government that equally represents both the Sunni and Shia Muslims in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This prompted solid sentiments of sectarianism between Iraq s Sunnis, Kurds, and Shiites. The Sunni, Shiite, and Kurdish political parties activated voters through religious systems. Given these ethnic and fanatic based arrangements in the race, the characters of religious associations were played up in the midst of the election. Voters facilitated no reason for selecting parties other than through ethnic and religious factions; in this manner, voters voted according to their ethnicity and religious group. Because of Iraq s Shiite majority the Shia political party of Iraq turned into the ruling party and the Sunni s and Kurds had next to no association in the political procedure. Since Iraq s Sunni s and Kurd s did not feel similarly spoken to there were exceptional sentiments of sectarianism in Iraq. The Iraqi government s choice to make political parties construct exclusively in light of ethnicity and religious group prompted large portions of Iraq s regular people feeling unrepresented in government. The Iraqi government is currently proving insufficient in protecting its nation from the Islamic State. ISIS s objective is to topple the Iraqi government and establish a caliphate in Iraq and Syria. ISIS has managed to conquer
  • 3. Essay on Lithium Almost everyone has a favorite song, a song that takes them back or sends them forward to a place and time that is not the present. What makes us pick out our favorites? What kind of affect does a song have that it requires us to constantly hum it or sing it at the top of our lungs? While I cannot speak for others without some kind of group consultation, I can explain the things that make me feel so intensely about this song, Lithium, preformed by a 1990s grunge rock band, Nirvana, and sung by Kurt Cobain. The introduction to this song makes me think of a nursery rhyme. It takes me back to being a young child singing Ring Around the Rosie and laughing and playing with others without a care in the world. Though this feeling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It only takes so much of this before one will encompass within ones own head. Of course these new friends do not hurt you and you are the happiest you have ever been. The next line, I m so ugly, but that s okay, cause so are you/ Broke our mirrors (nirvana music), continues to explain an aggravated state of the songwriter. Also, a glimmer of hope appears in this line. It reminds us that we are only as ugly as we think we are. By breaking the mirrors, a freedom from society is stated. There is no fear of what others think. A reaction to this is in some way straying from the norm. We have holes in our noses and tattoos and dress differently than the rest. We all need to break our mirrors and be proud of who we are. The following line, Sunday morning is everyday for all I care/ And I m not scared (nirvana music), talks about somebody who either does not believe in God or believe in going to church on Sundays, or is not afraid to worship in another manner other than the usual. Sunday is just another day of the week. This person is not afraid of any repercussions that might be the effect of this activity. This line is also about having freedoms. Light my candles/ In a daze/ Cause I ve found god/ Hey, Hey, Hey (nirvana music) is a continuation of the preceding line. It is difficult to determine what is meant here. Maybe it is because the songwriter is so surprised to discover God. I see it like this. The
  • 4. Controlling Reader Response in the Handmaid s Tale LONG ESSAY Conventions of a prose text may, to some extent, control reader response to themes within the text but the reader s context may also influence the way the text is read. It is particularly evident in Margaret Atwood s novel The Handmaid s Tale that by examining the experience of women within the world it is evident that women are more repressed. The characterisation of Offred may control reader response to theme because her own personal experiences are projected onto the reader. In Gilead, women are repressed by male power and dominance, shown when Offred goes to the doctor for her monthly obligatory tests. She says, The knowledge of his power hangs in the air . Offred s experiences, and the experiences of the women around... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is predominantly shown in the form of the Keynote speaker Professor James Darcy Pieixoto. He declares that they held out no hope of tracing the narrator herself directly . This symbolises the lack of interest in searching for the creator of the text. He comments that she does not see fit to supply us with her original name which is a similar attitude the males in the Gileadean society had for women. Pieixoto then comments that if we could identify the elusive Commander ...at least some progress would have been made . This suggests that he sees the Commander as a more important and more reliable source because he is male. His preference for the Commander s information is shown again when he says what we wouldn t give, now, for even twenty pages or so of printout from Waterford s private computer! His sarcasm is shown in the comment however, we must be grateful for any crumbs the Goddess of History has designed to vouchsafe us. His concern for only the male s information is a reflection of the text, suggesting that even in 2195, women are still repressed, and people haven t learnt form the past. The Handmaid s Tale is a text constructed in such a way that readers are restricted in how they may view the text. Through the characterisation of the narrator readers are restricted in what they can obtain from the text, by her own individual experiences being enforced onto the reader. The narrator
  • 5. Changes In Pepe Pepe, the nineteen year old protagonist in John Steinbeck s short story Flight , changes both physically and mentally on many occasions during his journeys. He first changes, mostly mentally and less physically, when he learns about his impending trip into Monterey from Mama. Later, Pepe drastically changes physically, yet little mentally, upon his return from Monterey. Lastly during his journey into the mountains, Pepe changes significantly both physically and mentally. The idea of manhood plays an important part in this story since its role is central to Pepe s development. The oldest manin the family, Pepe does not take his position seriously, but rather he acts childish and maintains a materialistic view of the world. Before his adventure, Mama gives the first description of Pepe when she calls him so lazy that she claims... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Speaking of mental change, Pepe s idea of what a man does and acts noticeably changes along his adventures. Similar to his original mental attitude, which focused solely on material possessions, he first believes that a man is defined by his possessions, his hat, handkerchief, horse and least of all actions. Then, on his return from Monterey he tells Mama that the man said name to me [Pepe] that I [Pepe] could not allow (135). Pepe s reasoning is that he is a man now, and so he must protect his manhood violently when it is insulted. The last change in his definition of manhood occurs just before Pepe dies, when he physically stands up and faces his death boldly and bravely. Commonly, people today associate manhood with violence, strength, and possessions, just like Pepe does. This is not a true representation of adulthood. As an adult, it is responsibility, sacrifice, and maturity that differentiate a man from a boy. It is not how a person appears or acts, but rather their reasoning and drive that define
  • 6. Where To Invade Next Michael Moore Analysis In Where to Invade Next a satirical documentary, Michael Moore compares U.S. public policies to european countries like Italy and France. In this documentary Moore uses what seems to be strong logos until you realize that he is card stacking. He also uses quite a bit of pathos as he talks about things in other countries that we would love to have in the U.S. like 8 weeks paid vacation or free college tuition. Michael Mooreis trying to persuade the U.S. to be more like it was supposed to be when it was created. Like how you should with any argument he starts off by building up his ethos. In the movie Moore states that all of America s generals came to him for help saying that they Had not won a war since WWII. Moore told them to take a break and send everyone on a vacation while he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First he shows us a working class Italian couple and how they go on multiple vacations a year because everyone in Italy gets 8 weeks paid vacation. He then talks to the Italian couple about their daily life and how they get paid for 13 months of work in a 12 month year, and how women get paid maternity leave. Even with all of these vacations and time off Italy is only ranked slightly below the U.S. in productivity, that s because when you are well rested and relaxed you produce much higher quality stuff and get more done then if you where tired and overworked. This looks amazing! Like there could be no downside to this argument, we should just pick it up immediately and bring this to America. But what Moore fails to do it tell what this has done to the Italian economy. Italy is currently undergoing huge economic reform because of the amount of money it takes to fund their vacations. Italy currently has one of the worst GNPs in the world with an annual growth rate of 1.9%. They also have an unimportant rate of 12%. If we adopted this in the U.S. It would have even worse effects because of our increased

She is justifying her experiences against biblical authority, and interprets scripture in her own distinct way. Given the time period in which this narrative is being told, the biblical references that she uses were necessary in providing a valid argument. Women did not have much say in that time; therefore, anything they said did not interest the public. Businesses that are mindful of customer satisfaction try to eliminate product and service failures, exchanges in which the customer experiences losses (Smith, Bolton, Wagner, 1999). Businesses choose to measure customer satisfaction so that they can determine their customer loyalty, the business revenue, and costs. Gaining a profit is the ultimate goal of businesses, however, great businesses focus on the customer, and their needs and making sure that quality demands are met. There are different models used to measure customer satisfaction that are dependent upon the particular information desired. Models can focus on value, quality, performance, and expectations. Models are needed to analyze the validity of measurements for customer satisfaction. Literature Review Deros, Rahman, Rahman, Ismail, and Said examined Quality Function Deployment (QFD). A study was done to measure service quality performance. Initially the research began with surveying with questionnaires for feedback. The global crisis of global warming is further heightened because of deforestation. Forests play a significant role in ensuring that greenhouse gases do not enter the atmosphere by regulating the air with its natural processes. Soil impoverishment, is caused during the destruction of forests by increasing the chances of soil erosion and flooded. Soil erosion is caused by rainfalls and poor crop growth, as there are no crops protecting and holding the soil together. This would affect the fertility of the soil due to the depletion in its nutrients. In the long run, the soil would lose its ability to sustain crops. • 17. Examples Of Madness In Tell Tale Heart Madness is an idea that has been widely explored and theorized throughout the ages, particularly within Shakespearean literature and other works along those lines. It is nearly impossible to establish a working definition of madness itself, because there are so many different forms of madness shown throughout time, as well as different contexts. It breaks down to subjectivity, along with time and place, and situational circumstances. In Edgar Allan Poes Tell Tale Heart, a perhaps unusual form of madness rears it s head, the madness of passion, and how too much exertion on a single passion may in fact lead to madness. Tell Tale Heart explores the idea of passion operating as a gateway for madness, which is then followed by a state of delirium,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Foucault also states that delirium is essentially the most integral part of madness when he states: this remorse, this belief, this hallucination, these speeches, in short, this complex of convictions and images which constitutes a delirium. (96) Although Foucault was referring to an example from Diemerbroek, a man who suffered from melancholia, it is clear that these same principles are applicable to the hallucinations and delusions the narrator experiences in Tell Tale Heart. The heightened sense of hearing for instance, shows that the narrator not only felt that he or she had a superior sense of hearing that allowed them to hear things the average human wouldn t hear, such as a person s heartbeat from a distance, or people having a normal volume level conversation from afar, but it also shows that the narrator believed that this sense of hearing was real, rather than it being imagined, which it most likely was. As far as the speeches Foucault is referring to, it is apparent that the narrator experiences these as well, perhaps not in the traditional speaking to another person form, but more along the lines of giving the

As Edward travels through his country, he sees the terror that his laws bring to the common people. As Kenneth S. Lynn says, the little prince s adventures are an education in human viciousness and depravity (217). The prince observes the harshness of English laws when he is in Hugo s dungeons with Sir Hendon. There he meets two women who are in the dungeons simply because they are Baptists. At first, the prince is unaware of the laws in his kingdom; he thinks that the women will be set free soon since they will not keep ye long for such a little thing (165). The next day, he is taken outside and he saw a spectacle that froze the marrow in his bones. Fagots had been piled about the two women, and a kneeling man was lighting them! (167). The prince is horrorstruck at this sight, saying, That which I have seen in that one little moment will never go out from my memory, but will abide there...Would God I had been blind! (168). Claims such as these have held together London s existing developmental plan, the Views Policy, which is for the large part unorganized and reactive; the plan dictates where tall buildings should not be placed rather than where they could best be placed, which has resulted in London s fragmented and uneven skyline . Thus far, the plan has served these groups well and they have effectively prevented the construction of tall buildings that could potentially obstruct views of London landmarks. In place of tall, high density towers, suggestions have been made by some heritage groups for the construction of a greater number of smaller and more compact high density buildings. Even though smaller buildings would help to preserve the views of London s major landmarks, they would not be built in the best interest of the city. Since there is a lack of available land in the city and low rise, high density complexes require more land than tall, high density towers, the only way to construct these developments would be to expand outward. An outward expansion would not only be expensive, requiring a development of infrastructure in those areas strong enough to support new businesses, but almost entirely impractical due to London s poor transport system. Even though half a million London workers live in the suburbs and depend on the radial rail system that links them to the center of the city, the system as a whole is expensive, heavily congested and wasteful; it

Zachary Taylor was a commemorated war general for his roles within the War of 1812, the Black Hawk War, Seminole Wars, and the Mexican War. Yet, it was only after the Mexican War did he get public recognition and received a nomination by the Whig Party for president. Taylor never officially finished his education and never seemed to particularly care for politics. Besides his own election, he had never voted and he did not even vote for himself. It is easy to sympathize with the customer group in this matter. They are the foundation stone that has built the club through the years and they have invested money, emotions and their private time. But they are not as important as they once was for the club. • 35. Reaction Paper On Cellular Respiration Cellular respiration is the oxidation of organic compounds that occurs within cells, producing energy for cellular processes (Dictionary.com, 2017) . The process of cellular respiration occurs in three phases. The first process is called Glycolysis and is the breakdown of glucose in the cytoplasm. The next process is the pyruvate molecules transported into the mitochondria (aka powerhouses of the cells), the pyruvate are then converted into 2 carbon molecules and enter the Krebs cycle. Finally the energy enters the electron transport chain and the energy is used to produce ATP (CK 12, 2017). The lungs co operate with cellular respiration as the lungs produce oxygenwhich is vital in helping the process of turning glucose into ATP. The process of the respiratory system begins at the nasal cavity and mouth where air is inhaled. The air then passes through the sinuses located in the skull which regulate the humidity and temperature as someone breathes (Zimmermann, Live Science, 2016). The air is filtered in the trachea (windpipe) and then enters the lungs through a system of pipes called the bronchi. The bronchi are located at the end of the trachea as the left or right bronchi. The bronchi branch throughout the lungs eventually forming thin walled air sacs or bubbles, known as the alveoli ( Respiratory System, 2017). In the alveoli gas exchange takes place between the air and blood. Covering each alveolus is a network of blood vessel called capillaries, which are small

Before World War II, eight U.S. recessions worsened into depressions (1807, 1837, 1873, 1882, 1893, 1920, 1933, and 1937). We as humans have all delayed something in our lives, either related to school, work, or social activities. Although anything in life has the potential to be postponed or put off until the last minute, procrastination is more commonly seen in schools and colleges among students. There are several reasons why students put off assignments, but, the main reason is that they do not take pleasure in doing their homework. Even though some students are unsuccessful in their dawdling, many students are often successful and benefit from saving coursework until the last minute . Taking a look at this process, we can see that procrastinating may actually save time and energy. The first step in the procrastination process is to make a conscious decision to postpone a project until a later date. Upon receiving a homework assignment, students will often look over what they will be asked to do. If they are discontented by what they are presented with, thoughts such as I do not want to do this or I will do this later will spring up in their brain. After a student has either of the previous thoughts, they then put the assignment in their folder or binder and do not touch it until later. Frequently a student has no motivation to begin an essay, for example, right after receiving the prompt because there is no pressure to complete it in a short time. Many of the meals include high glycemic index foods like rice, potatoes, and pasta because their carbohydrates (primarily in the form of glucose) are the easiest for the body to break down and use to refuel muscles. By pairing these side dishes with a lean meat like chicken or turkey, or even seafood, Jo s post workout meals will meet all of her needs. Finally, I have also
  • 51. Plato s The Allegory Of The Cave The Allegory of the Cave demonstrates true knowledge and evidence. The moral of the story is about people in a cave bound to a wall. They only see shadows on the walls of humans carrying artifacts. They believe what they can see and what they know, nothing else. It would be impossible to create new ideas in your mind or imagine a new color. A man is released, no longer seeing the shadows he saw, but new things he had never seen or known. He was overwhelmed knowing the sun could be creating the shadows on the walls or seeing a color he had never seen before. The prisoner would most likely return to the cave to tell the other prisoners what he saw. The other prisoners most likely would not believe him. They have believed the same thing forever... Plato would reveal the truth, but was he put to death for revealing the truths.Plato was able to escape the cave and had seen beyond and was never satisfied to go back. He tried to reveal and reason with the others to help them escape. Only a few would follow but most would stay, trapped in the cave.Plato/Socrates starts off saying human beings as though they were in an underground cavelike dwelling... . He does not mean an actual cave, but a mind entrapment. You are told one thing, yet you discover it s not true and your whole life has been a lie. He goes on saying legs and necks in bonds so that they are fixed, seeing only in front of them, unable because of the bond to turn their heads all they way around. The bonds are the lies we have been told keeping us away from the truth. When we are little we are told about Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, etc, yet they are not real. We believe in those fiction character because that s what we have known our whole life. We don t know anything else other than what we told as

The Strain Theory can assist in the explanation of the reasoning behind this attack. This will be brought into further detail in the discussion of two topics. The first topic is that the extremist is just doing what they do best, or was trained to do. Another reason may be that the military group is tired of being at the low end of the global Jihad, or extremist military group. • 53. The Environment Of The Sea Ocean Over 70 percent of the world is covered in water. Water plays a huge part in our world, whether the water makes our plants grow that feed our animals and plants that we eat to the water that grows the trees we use to build our infrastructure, or heat our homes with to providing a huge underwater world known as the Ocean and water also is the main reason us, humans, are alive. We need water to live, without water humans would not be able to survive. With this being said water runs our lives. Humans which live on land also rely on life from the ocean for food. Humans must keep the water pollution levels at normal levels or else the water will taint the animals they use for food. The animals are not the only thing they have to worry about polluting in the Ocean. Other pollutants like CO2 and other greenhouse gases make the ocean waters fluctuate. This fluctuation affects the Climate. The ocean waters are responsible for heating the planet. Although the land masses of the world (continents) also receive the same amount of sunlight, there is much more water than land, therefore the water absorbs most of the suns light. How the basics of how this works is water evaporates into the air rising upwards. While this evaporation is occurring the temperature rises as well as the humidity forming rain and storms to develop. This is how hurricanes form in the tropics. The tropics are the most variable for storms because of the warm waters. The warmer the waters are the more likely there

  • 56. Narrative Style of Truman Capote s In Cold Blood In Cold Blood Narrative Style Capote s structure in In Cold Blood is a subject that deserves discussion. The book is told from two alternating perspectives, that of the Clutter family who are the victims, and that of the two murderers, Dick Hickock and Perry Smith. The different perspectives allow the reader to relive both sides of the story; Capote presents them without bias. Capote masterfully utilizes the third person omniscient point of view to express the two perspectives. The non chronological sequencing of some events emphasizes key scenes. The victims, the murderers, the victims, the murderers,... this is the pattern throughout the first two of the three parts of In Cold Blood. During these first two parts of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This nonfiction work is for the most part unbiased. Capote s extensive research on this real life event is not marred by his own personal feelings about the crime committed. The fact that he tells both sides of the story adds to the objectivity. Capote doesn t render judgment for two reasons: it is important for the reader to draw conclusions about the philosophical sociological psychological circumstances of the mass murder, and Capote concluded that there should be no interference with the readers judgmental process (Reed 107). The narrator, up to the criminals day of execution, shows no bias whatsoever; the trial could have been an easy opportunity for the narrator to express his own opinions on how the criminals should be punished. Capote is adamant in giving the facts to the reader directly and letting the reader formulate his or her own opinion. For example, of the death sentence, Capote writes, In March 1965, after [Perry] Smith and [Dick] Hickock had been confined in their death row cells almost two thousand days, the Kansas Supreme Court decreed that their lives must end between midnight and 2:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 14, 1965 (336). The third person point of view also reaffirms Capote s neutrality. In addition, this viewpoint adds credibility to the piece of literature because there are few, if any, dissenting opinions of
