- 2. The Perm Territory is one of the main industrial centres in Russia. More than 500 factories and plants of different types are located here. Annually machine-building, chemical, fuel, woodworking, pulp and paper industries successfully release a large amount of production providing the Territory with the goods of vital necessity and making a sufficient contribution to the development of Russian economics. But each day every factory leaves so many poisonous wastes that the city almost drowns in it. Year by year the Territory turns in a very dangerous zone to live in.
- 7. ACCUMULATION OF CONSUMPTION WASTES (SOIL POLLUTION) The accumulation of solid wastes is one of the most acute and complicated ecological problems of the Perm Territory. The industrial and consumption wastes have made up the amount of more than 670 tons.
