To avoid the pollution and to save the non conventional resources, use of renewable energy sources such as wind energy, bio gas, hydro and solar potential has increased and become essential to adopt a low cost generating system in remote areas. Besides the variety of energy sources, solar power advantages are easy to make apparent compared to other methods. For many years, solar energy is the series source of vast amounts of freely available energy, but modern technology has harnessed it. In this paper a proper battery charge controller used in the Standalone Photovoltaic PV system. The power is transfer to the dc load and manages storage level available in this proposed technique. From the PV array the maximum power is extracted by using three different methods. In this proposed technique ‘perturb and observe' and the ‘incremental conductance' control methods and algorithms are analyzed. The system modelling as well as simulation results are presented. Solar energy is a vital untapped resource in a tropical country like ours. The main hindrance for the penetration and reach of solar PV systems is their low efficiency and high capital cost. The efficiency of solar PV is very low. In order to increase the efficiency, Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) techniques are to be undertaken to match the source and load property. These techniques are employed in PV systems to make full utilization of PV array output power. Recently, many MPPT algorithms of PV system have been proposed which depends on solar irradiation and temperature, but perturb and observe (P&O) and Incremental conductance algorithms are basic and most widely used. This project firstly introduces a Mat lab Simulink of photovoltaic array. To achieve the maximum power point tracking the Incremental Conductance method and perturb and observed (P&O) method are used. These two algorithms are employed with PV model along with converter in Mat lab Simulink. Three different converter boost, buck boost and cuk converter are design according to requirement and used. Major depletion of fossil fuel and the increase of greenhouse gasses such as carbon dioxide, chloroflurocarbons (CFCs), hydroflurocarbon (HFCs), perflurocarbons (PFCs) and Sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) worldwide are the catalyst for the interest of many counties towards renewable energy. Technical and Financial Analysis of Photovoltaic Water Pumping System for GOR...IJCI JOURNAL
Because of human need for energy, extra special attention is in the usage of renewable-energy sources in
recent years. On the other hand, environmental pollution is created with fossil energy. Photovoltaic (PV)
energy is also one of the renewable-energy sources that are available in almost all parts of the globe,
especially in Iran. One application of this energy is in water pumping system. In this paper, we precede the
technical and financial study on photovoltaic water pumping system for irrigation of GORGAN’s farm
fields (one of Northern Province of Iran) with the RETScreen software tools. In order to the results, it is
obvious that the usage of this clean energy causes the reduction on production costs during of its operation.
Solar cells are a major alternate source of sustainable energy in the usual condition of depleting non- renewable energy sources. Nowadays, this source is getting more and more important due to its use in large and small-scale installations. One of the major causes of energy losses in photovoltaic (PV) modules is the shading. It can happen due to clouds passing, near trees, and/or neighboring structures. Generally, there are two types of PV module Shading which are either partial shading or complete shading. Both have a significant impact on the solar module output power. This paper is an attempt of carrying out a study of the electrical characteristics of a solar module with various percentages of simulated shading. The solar module tester (SMT) simulator was used in this study. The study approved the direct correlation between short-circuit current and solar irradiance. The advantage of using SMT is its stable irradiance in comparison to the practical unstable solar irradiance within the same period. The results of both methods of shading simulation show that shading has a significant impact on the performance of solar panel in terms of efficiency, fill factor and output power. For better performance, solar panels should install in shading free places as much as its possible.
Energy harvesting (EH), i.e. the process of extracting energy from the environment or from a surrounding system and converting it to useable electrical energy, is a prominent research topic, with many promising applications nowadays in the civil engineering field. Its areas of application currently focus to the powering small autonomous wireless sensors (thus eliminating the need for wires), in structural health monitoring and building automation applications. Regarding the latter, the prospect to implement autonomous sensors inside a building that monitor relevant parameters (temperature, humidity, chemical agent concentration etc.), and transmit intermittently data to a central unit is a recent and rapidly grown business, helped by the standardization of wireless (Wi-Fi) data transmission.
This study focuses on the numerical analysis and testing of a high efficiency Energy Harvesting device, based on piezoelectric materials, with possible applications for the sustainability of smart buildings, structures and infrastructures. The development of the device is supported by ESA (the European Space Agency) under a program for the space technology transfer.
The EH device, harvests the airflow inside Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, using a piezoelectric component and an appropriate customizable aerodynamic appendix or fin that takes advantage of specific air flow effects (principally Vortex Shedding), and can be implemented for optimizing the energy consumption inside buildings.
In the present research, focus is given on different relevant modelling aspects, explored both using numerical methods (by means of FEM and CFD models) and in wind tunnel testing. In particular, different configurations for the piezoelectric bender (including rectangular, cylindrical and T-shaped) are modelled, tested and compared. The calibration of the numerical models, useful for the optimisation of the final design, and the electrical modelling and losses calculation for the EH circuit, are provided, and the effective energy harvesting potential of the working prototype device in laboratory conditions is assessed. Additional aspects relevant to the successful implementation of the research project are shown, including the final design of the device and the possible market impact.
In modern days, the use of energy consumption increasing very rapidly. Fossil fuels are finite and environmentally costly. Sustainable, environmentally benign energy can be derived from nuclear fission or captured from ambient sources. Large-scale ambient energy (eg. solar, wind and tide), is widely available and large-scale technologies are being developed to efficiently capture it. At the other end of the scale, there are small amounts of ‘wasted’ energy that could be useful if captured. Recovering even a fraction of this energy would have a significant economic and environmental impact. This is where energy harvesting (EH) comes in.
Various energy sources for wearable and IoT has been covered and explained.
Super-capacitor, Secondary cell and energy harvesting technology has been explained here. Thin film battery, Piezo electric energy harvesting, wireless charging and other technology has been explained.

Abstract: In the recent year’s power utility of coastal areas are experiencing relatively large quantum of solar and wind energy. If the wind is heavy it might produce larger sea waves of high energy contents. The electricity needs of a township or a village situated in a coastal area can be partially fulfilled by installing a modular mini electricity generating unit and an intensified solar heat extractor in buildings. Also, installation of medium sized windmill plant, solar heated steam turbine electricity generator and sea wave energy extracting plants could fulfill the rest of the electricity needs of the township. Here we discuss the regulation of the voltage and frequency of a stand-alone fixed-pitch wind energy conversion system (WECS) based on a self-excited squirrel-cage induction machine. The characteristics of the wind turbine, self-excited generator, and the ratings of the VSI are considered in order to determine the load range for which voltageand frequency can be regulated for a given wind speed range. Abstract
Present day guided weapon systems, especially tactical class missiles use RF seeker, for target tracking towards terminal engagement. The seeker system including its antenna assembly will be onboard the missile. Due to the missile trajectory corrections, the seeker antenna pointing to the target may get disturbed resulting in track loss. To avoid this track loss, it becomes necessary to stabilize the antenna system in two planes. The fundamental role of stabilization loop in seeker application is to precisely follow the angular rate of the target. In order to achieve this requirement, it is essential to highly isolate the gimbaled antenna from the missile body motion due to the maneuvering of target or low frequency vibration during flight. However, the isolation ratio and stability margin of stabilization loop adopting the gimbaled platform with both low stiffness and heavy inertia are limited by mechanical characteristic such as low resonance frequency and its high magnitude. The selection of proper feedback sensors, modeling of the total system are key features of this project. In the end, the performance and the stability of designed stabilization loop are demonstrated using simulation in both frequency and time domain. The Hardware for the system is under realization by the Industry. The whole scheme is simulated in MATLAB off-line for this project.

If used in a proper way, it has a capacity to fulfill numerous energy needs of the world. Hence there is great scope of work in field of solar photovoltaic aiming at improved and efficient performances. Solar PV modules convert solar energy into electrical form but are having high non-linear current-voltage relationship which implies that they can operate at only one single point for maximum power. So extraction of maximum power in itself becomes a challenge under varying set of conditions of irradiation and temperature. A step by step approach is followed to analyze and address the problem with high frequency switching DC-DC converters that act as an interface between the module and the load and adjust the switching duty ratio so as to match the load line with that of Maximum Power Point load line. Further there exist various control algorithms to modify duty ratio. Their study is done and one such technique Incremental Conductance (IncCond) is used to process current and voltage of PV array to get the duty ratio. The results are obtained for changing radiation as well. In the present study, a review of Hill Climbing MPPT techniques, has been carried out with detailed flowcharts of algorithms and includes latest research papers published on MPPT techniques.

Due to rising energy demand and diminishing fossil fuel supplies, the quest for renewable energy sources has gained momentum. As a result, researchers have been more interested in harnessing renewable energy sources like sun and wind to create long term, reliable sources of energy. The purpose of this article is to discuss long term solutions for supplying electricity to outlying locations. The framework of a hybrid system is presented in this study. The suggested setup is a hybrid of solar photovoltaics PV and a wind turbine using a Doubly Fed Induction Generator DFIG . The Maximum Power Point Tracking MPPT technology is used in solar panels to increase output. There are two controllers on the DFIG one for the rotors and one for the grid. The inverter AC DC AC is implemented using the vector control approach, and both the rotor side converter and the grid side converter may generate or observe reactive power, as well as regulate the DC link voltage. This study uses MATLAB Simulink to describe a PV wind system that is linked to an existing power infrastructure. This paper explains how to simulate a PV wind hybrid system on three phase power networks. An explanation of the simulation findings for a range of irradiance and wind speeds is provided as well. Analysis, Modeling and Implementation of Incremental Conductance Maximum Powe...ijtsrd
Maximum power point tracking must be used in PV systems to get the most of solar energy. A solar cells property is non linear. The intensity of solar radiation falling on the earths surface is affected by a variety of elements including clouds, water vapour, pollution, absorption, scattering, and climate conditions. A PV system without MPPT seldom generates maximum power, which also affects the Maximum Power Point of the PV system with regard to a certain environmental situation, resulting in low power. In order to monitor PV systems MPP Incremental conductance IC method gives greater steady state accuracy with better and efficient output compared to non MPPT system. Several simulation results are shown here. Simulation of incremental conductance mppt with direct control method using c...eSAT Journals
Abstract PV Module Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) is a photovoltaic system that uses the photovoltaic array as a source of electrical power supply. Every photovoltaic (PV) array has an optimum operating point, called the maximum power point, which varies depending on cell temperature, the insulation level and array voltage. The function of MPPT is needed to operate the PV array at its maximum power point. The design of a Maximum Peak Power Tracking (MPPT) is proposed utilizing a cuk converter topology. Solar panel voltage and current are continuously monitored by a MPPT, and the duty cycle of the cuk converter continuously adjusted to extract maximum power. The design consists of a PV array, DC-DC cuk converter and many such algorithms have been proposed. However, one particular algorithm, the Incremental Conductance method, claimed by many in the literature to be inferior to others, continues to be by far the most widely used method in commercial PV MPPT’s. The general model was implemented on Mat lab, and accepts irradiance and temperature as variable parameters and outputs the I-V characteristic and P-V characteristic Index Terms: PV system; Maximum power point tracking (MPPT); Incremental conductance (Inccond); digital signal processor (dsp)

This study primarily focuses on the design of a high side buck converter using an Arduino microcontroller. The converter is specifically intended for use in DC DC applications, particularly in standalone solar PV systems where the PV output voltage exceeds the load or battery voltage. To evaluate the performance of the converter, simulation experiments are conducted using Proteus Software. These simulations provide insights into the input and output voltages, currents, powers, and efficiency under different state of charge SoC conditions of a 12V,70Ah rechargeable lead acid battery. Additionally, the hardware design of the converter is implemented, and practical data is collected through operation, monitoring, and recording. By comparing the simulation results with the practical results, the efficiency and performance of the designed converter are assessed. The findings indicate that while the buck converter is suitable for practical use in standalone PV systems, its efficiency is compromised due to a lower output current. Sustainable Energy by Paul A. Adekunte | Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Janet O. Sadikuijtsrd
Energy becomes sustainable if it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Some of the definitions of sustainable energy include the considerations of environmental aspects such as greenhouse gas emissions, social, and economic aspects such as energy poverty. Generally far more sustainable than fossil fuel are renewable energy sources such as wind, hydroelectric power, solar, and geothermal energy sources. Worthy of note is that some renewable energy projects, like the clearing of forests to produce biofuels, can cause severe environmental damage. The sustainability of nuclear power which is a low carbon source is highly debated because of concerns about radioactive waste, nuclear proliferation, and accidents. The switching from coal to natural gas has environmental benefits, including a lower climate impact, but could lead to delay in switching to more sustainable options. “Carbon capture and storage” can be built into power plants to remove the carbon dioxide CO2 emissions, but this technology is expensive and has rarely been implemented. Leading non renewable energy sources around the world is fossil fuels, coal, petroleum, and natural gas. Nuclear energy is usually considered another non renewable energy source, although nuclear energy itself is a renewable energy source, but the material used in nuclear power plants is not. The paper addresses the issue of sustainable energy, its attendant benefits to the future generation, and humanity in general. Paul A. Adekunte | Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Janet O. Towards the Implementation of the Sudan Interpolated Geoid Model Khartoum Sta...ijtsrd
The discussions between ellipsoid and geoid have invoked many researchers during the recent decades, especially during the GNSS technology era, which had witnessed a great deal of development but still geoid undulation requires more investigations. To figure out a solution for Sudans local geoid, this research has tried to intake the possibility of determining the geoid model by following two approaches, gravimetric and geometrical geoid model determination, by making use of GNSS leveling benchmarks at Khartoum state. The Benchmarks are well distributed in the study area, in which, the horizontal coordinates and the height above the ellipsoid have been observed by GNSS while orthometric heights were carried out using precise leveling. The Global Geopotential Model GGM represented in EGM2008 has been exploited to figure out the geoid undulation at the benchmarks in the study area. This is followed by a fitting process, that has been done to suit the geoid undulation data which has been computed using GNSS leveling data and geoid undulation inspired by the EGM2008. Two geoid surfaces were created after the fitting process to ensure that they are identical and both of them could be counted for getting the same geoid undulation with an acceptable accuracy. In this respect, statistical operation played an important role in ensuring the consistency and integrity of the model by applying cross validation techniques splitting the data into training and testing datasets for building the geoid model and testing its eligibility. The geometrical solution for geoid undulation computation has been utilized by applying straightforward equations that facilitate the calculation of the geoid undulation directly through applying statistical techniques for the GNSS leveling data of the study area to get the common equation parameters values that could be utilized to calculate geoid undulation of any position in the study area within the claimed accuracy. Both systems were checked and proved eligible to be used within the study area with acceptable accuracy which may contribute to solving the geoid undulation problem in the Khartoum area, and be further generalized to determine the geoid model over the entire country, and this could be considered in the future, for regional and continental geoid model. We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

available. This a why we cannot rely on solar energy alone.
In general, the Earth has two global movements that affect
the reception of the solar energy to its surface: the rotation
that it does once on itself per day and the yearly revolution
that it does around the sun. The combination of these
movements implies daily changes in the receipt of the solar
light to particular places. The reason for which the
energizing flux received to soil hardly passes 1000 W/m2 is
that the atmosphere modifies in an important waythedirect
radiance of the sun. The phenomenon named "photovoltaic
effect" consists mainly in transforming the solar light in
electric energy by means of the semiconductor devices
named photovoltaic cells.
The solar panel, or photovoltaic generator, is itself
constituted of an association of series and parallel of the
necessary number of modules toassuretherequisite energy.
Maximum Power Point Trackers (MPPTs) play an important
role in photovoltaic (PV) power systems because they
maximize the power output from a PV system for a given set
of conditions, and therefore maximize the array efficiency.
Thus, an MPPT can minimize the overall system cost.MPPTs
find and maintain operation at the maximum power point,
using an MPPT algorithm. Many such algorithms have been
proposed. However, one particular algorithm, the perturb-
and-observe (P&O) method, continues to be by far the most
widely used method in commercial PV MPPTs.
TRACKING ARRAYS
Solar array follows the path of the sun and maximizes the
solar radiation incident on the photovoltaicsurface.Thetwo
most common orientations are:
One-axis tracking: In this tracking mechanism, thearray
tracks the sun east to west. It is used mostly with flat-
plate systems and occasionally with concentrator
systems.
Two-axis tracking: In thistrackingmechanism,thearray
points directly at the sun at all time. It is used primarily
with PV concentrator systems.

A compromise between fixed and tracking arrays is the
adjustable, in MPPT method where the array tilt angle is
adjusted periodically (usually seasonally) to increase its
output. This is mostly done manually. The mounted tracking
solar array is as shown in Fig. 1

different types of semiconductors using different
manufacturing processes. The mono crystalline and
polycrystalline are generally used in commercial level. When
light fall on the cell it generate the charge carriers that
originate the electrical current if the cell is short-circuited.

To draw the real model photovoltaic cell it is necessary to
take into the account the losses due to leakage current in the
diode and losses due to connection and contacts. That why
two resisters are added in model on resistor is in series and
second one is in parallel. The value of series resistant is very
low but the value of parallel resistant is infinity. The

PROPOSED MPPT METHODS
The output power of a PV panel is a function of temperature,
radiation and the position of panel. It is also the function of
product of voltage and current. By varying theseparameters
he power can be maximize. To maximizing theoutputpower
generally MPPT used. This paper compares 3 different
control methods along with algorithms of two of the
methods. These methods include:
1. Perturb and Observe
2. Incremental Conductance
3. Constant Voltage
4. Open Circuit Voltage
5. Short Circuit Current
6. Temperature
7. Temperature Parametric
Perturb and Observe
Perturb and Observe (P and O) searches for the maximum
power point by changing the PV voltage or current and
detecting the change in PV power output. The direction of
the change is reversed when the PV power decreases. P and
O can have issues at low irradiance that result in oscillation.
There can also be issues when there are fast changes in the
irradiance which can result in initially choosing the wrong
direction of search.
Fig. 4 Flow Chart for P&O Method
Incremental Conductance
This method consists of slop of derivativeof thecurrentwith
respect to the voltage to reach the MPP. To obtain this
maximum point di/dv should be equal to the –i/v. By
applying the variation in the voltage towards the biggest
value or smallest value it affect the power value. If power
increasing then should continue in the same direction, if
power decrease then should reverse the direction. The flow
chart of incremental conductance method is shown in Fig. 5.
Fig. 5 Flow Chart of Incremental Conductance Method
This condition simply states that the maximum power point
is located when the instantaneous conductance, , is equal
to the negative value of incremental conductance, The
IC uses a search technique that changes a referenceoraduty
cycle so that VPV changes and searches for the condition of
equation 3 and at that condition the maximum power point
has been found and searching will stop.
The IC will continue to calculate dIpv until the result is no
longer zero. At that time, the search is started again. In some
cases, a non-zero value is used for comparison so the search
will not be triggered by noise. When the left side of equation
3 is greater than zero, the search will increment VPV.
Constant Voltage
The constant voltage method is the simplest method. This
method simply uses single voltage to represent the VMP. In
some cases this value is programmed by an externalresistor
connected to a current source pin of the control IC. In this
case, this resistor can be part of a network that includes a

NTC thermistor so the value can be temperature
compensated. This method an overall rating of about
80%.This means that for the various different irradiance
variations, the method willcollect about80%of theavailable
maximum power. The actual performance will be
determined by the average level of irradiance. Inthe casesof
low levels of irradiance the results can be better.

CONCLUSION
In this paper, we proposed a standalone solar system is
modelled. The maximum power output efficiency is over
90%, which is simple and convenient. A simultaneous
supply of a dc load to the system is allowed. During PV
power production, the charge or the discharge of thebattery
storage is proposed. Solar system with DC load and battery
charge controller have been proposed in this paper. To
extract maximum power from the sun by usingthreecontrol
methods are analyzed. A simple and quick control to
implement both PV systems. The modelling, algorithms and
control methods are verified by using simulations results.
