1. Help Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Help Essay" can be a challenging endeavor, as the subject
matter itself is quite abstract and open-ended. The difficulty lies in navigating through the
ambiguity of the term "help" and crafting a coherent and engaging piece that resonates with the
reader. The challenge is not only to define what help means but also to explore its various
dimensions and implications across different contexts.
One hurdle is the potential for the essay to become too broad or unfocused. The term "help" can
encompass a wide range of scenarios, from personal assistance to societal support, making it
crucial to establish a clear and well-defined thesis. Striking the right balance between depth and
breadth becomes a delicate task, as delving too deeply into one aspect may neglect others.
Moreover, the subjective nature of the topic adds another layer of complexity. What constitutes
help for one person may differ significantly for another, necessitating a nuanced and inclusive
approach. It requires the writer to consider diverse perspectives, cultural influences, and
individual experiences to present a comprehensive view of the concept.
Furthermore, finding relevant and credible sources to support the arguments can be a formidable
challenge. The topic's abstract nature might limit the availability of concrete data and scholarly
research, requiring the writer to rely on a combination of empirical evidence, anecdotal accounts,
and theoretical frameworks to construct a compelling narrative.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the topic of "Help Essay" demands a careful balance between
specificity and inclusivity, as well as a keen awareness of the subjectivity inherent in the concept
of help. Navigating these challenges requires thoughtful consideration, critical analysis, and
effective communication skills to convey a meaningful exploration of the topic.

3. Clinical Placement
The first six weeks of the nursing program has forced me to turn myself inside out
and examine/analyze a lot about my way of life. It has forced me to look deeply
into my communication and listening skills. I have learned many different ways to
deal with situations and problems that may arise with my impersonal and
Intrapersonal relationships. I ve been trying out different skills with my roommate
and trying to really understand what we do in class by actually doing it. I have
always found it hard to express myself if I thought I would hurt someone or that a
confrontation may arise. But I am now more aware of different ways to handle
conversations so that I express myself fully ant the outcome is wondrous and

Despite being so busy, the nursing style was still far more holistic than on my
surgical placements and the involvement of the multi disciplinary team was far more
evident. Overall a very good experience indeed.
General Surgery Ward 33 (RLI) I have just finished my ten week placement here,
and I m so glad it s over! It has been my least enjoyable placement so far. The pace
was so fast and the ward was very understaffed which means of course that students
get treated as dogsbodies for much of the time rather than having the time and
space to really learn. Added to this was the fact that we had an important exam to
study for in the midst of all this. It made for a very stressful time and I often
wondered what am I doing this for. Ward 33 is a mixed gender 28 bedded ward
which is always full. As soon as someone is discharged there is another patient
waiting to come in. It takes both elective and emergency cases mainly for vascular
surgery and bowel surgery. There was such a lot to learn, so much interesting stuff
going on, but all in all the whole experience was just too stressful by far. The staff
were a mixed bunch with some very highly skilled and knowledgable nurses, but
some which made us feel so stupid and worthless and treated us really badly. It was
as if they couldn t remember what it felt like to be a student nurse. Having

So many people have tried to explain how life should be viewed, yet in my mind no
one has gotten in quite right. To me there are only two ways to articulate how we
live our own personal lives. These two choices are life as a run, and life as a race;
depending on which you choose it can drastically change the way you perceive life
as a whole. Each person, as an individual, has their own choiceon how they view their
personal life; however, they should know the differences between the two. How most
people have been raised in today s time, or raised as a millennial, have been told to
live their life as a run. Now a run does not have to be a fast pace, it is your own pace.

5. Job Maintenance Or Knowledge Retention
When talking to my Company Officer, Captain Polston, about the scenario where a
division officer is asked to sign line items that have not been completed, she stated
that it is a real problem that I will face in the fleet. According to Captain, in some
units in the fleet, there is a culture where marking off task or line items is the norm.
Especially when facilitated by the E 4 to E 6 level community, where items signed
off without verifying that the subordinate retained the knowledge or completed the
job. The reasoning behind speed signing line items is that somebody did it for me,
so I m going to do it for someone else. A bro before joe atmosphere has developed
in these units, where it is expected that items will be signed with minimal effort in
job maintenance or knowledge retention. Captain stated that enlisted in these select
units enlisted do not necessarily mean to harm anyone and are not all laxidasical,
but rather have assimilated into a culture where this type of conduct is accepted.
Therefore, Captain urged that we as divisional officers develop a motto of trust, but
verify. It was discussed that sometimes, it is easy to want to trust your enlisted and
even Chief when an inspection is coming around. However, we need to remember
that we are ultimately responsible for the maintenance of our division and the
knowledge/ readiness of our crew. Therefore, we must occasionally inspect the
division ourselves to ensure that all standards are met and completed

As with almost every aspect of developed or first world culture, a cloud of laziness
accompanies any call to a challenge. Although finding an easier means of
overcoming obstacles has been rooted in human existence since we came to roam the
earth, it appears we have achieved a new level of indolence. Understanding abstract
philosophical or religions bares no exception. To witness this one need look no further
than todays pop culture. A quick Google search of celebrity tattoos yields upwards

This is often portrayed by the Taijitu symbol that most western cultures are familiar
with. What is often difficult to understand about Yin Yang is that it is ultimately a
teaching of metaphysical dualism. This is to say that one is only as much itself as
it is the absence of its counterpart; light is just the absence of darkness. The concept
seems simple when applying it to light and dark but when it comes to questions of
existence or consciousness it becomes difficult to understand. Consequently, people,
either due to laziness or ignorance, attach themselves to the concrete symbol and
the simplest explanation to accompany it. Thus we see that the Taijitu, in western
culture, has itself adopted the name the Yin Yang or more absurdly the Ying yang .
I have a friend who to this day thinks he has a tattoo Yin Yang tattoo. It s a pretty
abstract and unlimited concept to fit in the confines of ones skin; I m not sure if he
even is aware of the word Taijitu; I don t think I should ask. The development of
concretization, however, cannot lay burden solely on the symbol. Symbols have been
used to represent religions, philosophies and factions of all sorts for thousands of
years. Instead, I believe ignorance, and furthermore the lack of motivation to rid
oneself of ignorance, is to blame. This has become increasingly evident in the
modernized world we live in today. In a

Alcohol Higher intake of alcohol increases the blood pressure. Reducing alcohol

Stress Psychological or environmental stress play a part in the causes of hypertension.
Direct effects of situations such as poverty, unemployment and poor education

hypertension.
Exercise Physical activity increases blood pressure, but people who exercise
regularly have lower blood pressures. Such people, however, also may have a
healthier diet and more sensible drinking and smoking habits.
Other dietary factors Vegetarians generally have lower BP than non vegetarians.
Reducing a meat rich diet with vegetable products reduces blood pressure. Caffeine

THE VARIOUS BODY MECHANISMS THAT CAUSES AND INFLUENCES

The various mechanisms that cause and influences hypertension are actually built
into us for good reasons: we need them to keep our blood pressure from falling too
low. But when they go somewhat awry, they cause high blood pressure. And when
that happens, we need treatment for hypertension, ironically aimed at the same
mechanisms.

10. Persuasive Essay On Wheelchair Rugby
Have any of you ever witness Wheelchair Rugby? It is an adaptive sport and one of
the most intense sports I ve ever thought would be possible for someone who had a
disability. There are athletes who have mindsets that would put most to shame.
Regarding the mindset of many adaptive sport athletes, in general, these exceptional
athletes have to be seeking the intenseness, fierceness, and competitiveness that
they had previously experienced before their setback (if we can call this a setback).
In all respects, the type of high risk injury that caused the disability (i.e.,
quadriplegia, for example) could be a similar risk level as the sport which now gives
them the ability to continue seeking the same type of adrenaline and dopamine rushes
along with personal satisfaction (i.e., intrinsic motivation) as before. I m not
necessarily one to ever desire participating in wheelchair rugby or any other type of
adaptive sport, but I am glad these sports exists for those driven after an accident,
for example. What intrigues me the most regarding these athletes is that their new
lives demonstrates that if any of us ever experience quadriplegia, for example, we
could continue in a sport or an activity that required partial use of our upper body.
This would require a passion and a driven spirit with self determination on the
intrinsic side of the continuum with a complex set of goals with specific action plans
for each step.

14. Mayor Of Casterbridge By Michael Farfrae Analysis
The Resentment and Downfall of an Antihero In the mid 1800s, Michael
Henchard and his wife Susan, who carried their daughter Elizabeth Jane, were
walking down a path seeking a place to lodge for the evening. Stopping at a county
fair tent, the family decided to eat furmity, Michael Henchard (who possessed a
quick temper and a drinking problem at the time) decided to slide the cook extra
money to spike his meal. After this point, the situation rapidly got out of hand and
Michael Henchard sold his wife and child to a sailor for five guineas. This was the
shocking first scene in Thomas Hardys novel, Mayor of Casterbridge, published in
1886. To proceed with the story and jump ahead almost two decades, Susan and
Elizabeth Jane sought out Henchard (since the sailor was lost at sea and believed
to never return) in the town of Casterbridge, where they discovered that he was
Mayor. From this point on, the husband and wife reconciled their differences,
married again, and started new beginnings together. However, things took a turn for
the worse ever since the two women materialized back into Henchard s life.
Throughout the novel, Donald Farfrae, a man Michael requested assistance from,

latter. Their differences included love, success, popularity, fortune, and authority.
However, Farfrae was not the cause of Michael s misfortune, in fact Donald was

22m 35.0364s right ascension and 33.1415138В° and 6.4700689В° declination. It is
also one of the 12 Zodiac constellations and one of the original 48 listed by the

symbol is в™‹, which represents crab pincers. This constellation attracted my interest
because it contains a galaxy with a binary supermassive black hole system: OJ 287.
The constellation of Cancer as it can be seen in the sky.
In the mythology of The Twelve Labours of Heracles (or Hercules in Roman
mythology) Cancer is a crab sent by Hera to hinder Heracles in his fight against
Hydra. Depending on the version of the story Heracles either kicks Cancer so hard
that the crab is stuck amongst the constellations, or he just crushes Cancer by
stomping on it and Hera places it in the sky for its bravery, but not in a bright part
of the sky because it did not complete its task (Cancer has only two stars brighter
than the 4th magnitude). Magnitude levels are levels of brightness, with lower
numbered levels being brighter than higher number levels (e.g. a magnitude level 1
is brighter than a magnitude 2). Some sources say that cancer was a late addition to
the story and that it was only included to make the 12 zodiac signs coincide with the

She then explained her dilemma that occurred. She stated that the mother of that
student had called her and told the teacher that her and her child (the student) wanted
her to come down and see them at the hospital. While the teacher did want to go see
the student, to see if he was making any progress in his psychiatric testing, there is
actually a school policy about the limitations that a teacher can go to see their student
outside of the classroom, and that sine the student wasn t in a life or death situation
at the hospital, then her visiting was actually going to break that policy. The teacher
decided in the end, to go to the principal and tell the principal about the situation and
in turn explain about the student and parent wanting her to go see them in the

the teacher to do that since there was a policy on it, but that it was okay for her to

I conducted a survey of Pulaski county residents to get their opinion about the

20. Stanislavsky s Invention Of Stanislavsky And The
Imagination
Stanislavsky and the Imagination
Konstantin Stanislavsky, born in 1863 Russia was an actor and well known theatre
practitioner whose main principle of theatre was the development of naturalism,
called the Stanislavsky method .
Being born into a wealthy family Stanislavsky had the privilege of partaking in
acting from a young age, performing in his parent s acting company, the Alekseyev
Circle. During the late 19th century, Stanislavsky travelled around the globe to learn
about different rehearsal processes at the Comedie Francaise. [1]
His influences and experiences as a youngster led him to create his own theatre
company: the Moscow Art Theatre (est. 1898). Here he designed his unique system
and introduced and combined realism within European trends at that time.
During the decades, method acting became a popularised technique in large
communities as the Moscow Theatre underwent a world tour in areas of Europe and
United States. Once the tour had ended, many of the members decided to leave and
go on to create the Group Theatre, which included actors like Lee Strasberg and
Stella Adler. After this many went on to form the Actors Studio. [2]
The System
The Stanislavsky system is used to portray the naturalistic and realistic elements of
life and people within theatre. The system allowed actors to draw in their own
experiences to create natural and believable characters. There are few aspects towards
the Stanislavsky system, also known as the Method System .

21. Do Gods Appeal To Greek Gods
This quote is very introspective about deities. And it is true. Many gods in myths
and legends are not known to be kind. This is why people try to appeal to them in
sacrifices and offerings, fearing the gods wrath in the form of natural disasters and
sickness. The concept of deities was formed in order to explain unknown things, and
since people before could not predict natural disasters, they hoped that their worship
will stop the bad things from happening. Even now, people appeal to deities for good
fortune and to protect them, and many still fear punishment from their deities.
Many worshippers make sacrifices and offering to the gods. There are many religions
that call for human sacrifices, such as the Aztecs. Worshippers of Zeussacrificed

Fashion in 1950 70 era
Is Mini Skirt still in fashion? Today we are in the 21st century in an era where the
fashion is at its peak. The fashion industry has developed so fast during the last
decade. This is mainly due to the development of technology. The Mini Skirt

Before that time, short skirts were only seen in sport clothing, such as skirts worn by
female tennis players.
The popularity of mini skirt was so high it was used even as wedding dresses during
this period. A picture of a wedding dress during 1965 is shown in this picture.
Andre Courreges, who developed it separately and incorporated it into his Mod look,
for spring/summer 1965. His miniskirts were less body hugging, and worn with the
white CourrГЁges boots that became a trademark. By introducing the miniskirt into
the haute couture of the fashion industry, CourrГЁges gave it a greater degree of
respectability than might otherwise have been expected of a street fashion. An even
more prominent French fashion designer, Yves St. Laurent, began to show shorter
skirts in his fall/winter 1965 collection, including his famous Mondrian dress, a trend
that he continued with throughout the 1960s,
There is another intersting story behind the mini skirt. In her book From A to Biba,
Barbara Hulanicki provides an alternative explanation for the invention of the mini
skirt. Soon after Biba opened on Kensington Church Street in 1966, she received a
delivery of skirts made out of stretchy jersey fabric which had shrunk dramatically
between leaving the manufacturer s and arriving at her shop.. The skirts were only 10
inches long. She almost got a heart attack amp; thought she will go bust amp;
23. A Brief Note On Malpractice And Medical Malpractice
When I feel healthy, I m happy. Abraham Lincoln once said something in a sense
that everyone is capable of doing wrong either by accidents or on purpose. Not
everybody is perfect, after all we are human. Health care organizations, particularly
hospitals, currently face numerous legal issues, several of which will be examined
in this paper. The first issue to be examined is medical malpractice. The medical
malpractice makes up one of the major legal issues encountered by hospitals and
health systems. Showalter (2012) states that with the decline of charitable immunity
in the 1970s, healthcare was one of the areas impacted by personal injury law and
was held liable for negligent acts. Today, malpractice continues to be a... Show more

In this research, I will explore the ways of malpractice through physician s doctors.
Patients are usually forewarned of risk they go under, so it s a required to trust
their doctors or whoever because they expect the utmost care and minimize the risk.
If a surgery goes wrong and the patients are injured, it s the responsibility of the
surgeon, staff or the hospital to take care of it. (McCullough, Campbell Lane LLP
1998).To really sure it s a malpractice; it undergoes three procedures, breach, injury
and damages. Breach is the surgeon work, which must fell below accepted and
expected standard, breaching the duty of care owed to the patients. Basically, it s the
way the surgeon take care of the patients while under surgery. Injury is the pain the
patient suffers after the breaching, which must have not happen if the patients were
properly treated. Last is the damage, which is the injury the patient sustained, which
has a negative impact on that patient, it can be emotionally, physically and
psychologically. Terrible mistakes can happen during surgery. Each year in the U.S.
alone, surgical mistakes result in tens of thousands of innocent surgical patients
suffering serious injury, paralysis, or even death. These mistakes are committed by
surgeons, surgical and hospital staff, and other health care providers. Many causes of
surgical errors are sometime inattentive or distracted surgeons
24. Atlanta s Congestion Case Study
Reaching record highs, Atlanta s congestion has put enough drain on economic
development to warrant the need for immediate action. It s has become necessary
to develop any policies that could help alleviate some of the burden on roadways.
Exploring the issue, there are four possible policies that have been examined to
reduce congestion in Atlanta. Each policy has its costs and benefits, and strengths
and weaknesses looked at under a critical gaze to determine which, if any, policy is
up to the task of fixing the traffic nightmare the citizens of Atlanta currently live in.
There are two viable options for enabling an authority that is capable of either
improving roads or increasing demand for transit. The first would be to sell the rights

25. Compare And Contrast Cathedral And Night Carver
Pen and Paper The power of the pen and paper has the ability to tell a story, to draw
a picture, and to teach a lesson. The two stories compared are The Night Watchman s
Occurrence Book by V.S. Naipaul (131) and Cathedral by Raymond Carver (226).
Both of these stories could easily be compared to one another in multiple facets of
formal analysis as well as be contrasted against one another. Through both author s
mastery of these formal concepts, such as theme, narration, setting, and imagery, they
tell a story, draw an image and have a meaning behind them that teaches us something
in the end. Theme The Theme of the Night Watchman seems difficult to find;
however, after careful consideration and incorporating my perspective, the theme...

The Manager kept asking the night watchman to become more and more detailed
in his notes and the hotel began to become a character in itself, being visited by the
police multiple times per evening and having drunks steal from its bar nightly.
This increasing detail is how Naipaul drew a picture of the scene in the mind of the
reader with nothing more than a pen, paper, and descriptive text. The imagery in
the Cathedral, however, was subtle with the blind man befriending the husband
slowly, steadily, developing trust over a short period of time. The suitcase seems
trivial to not have brought it upstairs, but the blind man waved off any extra work
to set it aside until he was going upstairs anyway setting the expectations of not
being a bother. The Cathedral drawing was a masterful way for the husband to
understand how important help is in a time of need. He could not explain what a
cathedral was and needed help, and in the end, the help was given by the blind man
so that he could see , or understand, what it was like to be helped through a difficult

Jeff Feiertag, Zane L. Berge, (2008) Training Generation N: how educators should

authors of this article were focusing on the generational differences between the
generations now and previous generations. The authors explain that they think that
the graduates today are as technologically advanced as they should be. They believe
the answer is adult learning theory and they would try to use this method to avoid
using technology. Berge and Feiertag also state that this generation is so dependent on
technology that without it, we would be lost. Generation N is narrowly focused on
the United States, using these examples but goes to state that it is known... Show

It is important to enhance our understanding in adulthood learning because not
everyone was born into the digital universe. Also, the authors talk about learning in
the classrooms being relatively different than it was before, some teachers don t use
the classroom at all and lecture online. Article also points around the Internet as a
whole being some sort of teacher, Google for example. Google spits out about any
kind of information that you may need. These authors also go on to state that older
generations aren t really that worried about the advance in technology and that they
are more focused on the news and literature than the internet boom . But that the
televisions are aiming towards trying to get their viewers more involved in the
internet. I don t think that classrooms will become completely technology dependent
and I feel like that is what the authors are trying to hint at. I do think that our
generation has become dependent on technology but I disagree that everyone has to
learn it. I think that it is important that adults learn this new way of living in a sense,
but I do not believe that it should be a necessity. The authors also say that society as
a whole is turning into technology, I disagree. Although technology has become
almost the basis of everything (the reading mentioned banks), there is still the old
school way of doing things and there are some

such as, Ah oughter mash you in yo mouf fuh drawing dat skillet on me (Hurston 3).

32. Utopian Society Research Paper
In a theoretical technologically advanced utopian society, we must come to realize
that machines will be a very big role in our society. From transportation to police,
machines will be largely involved in every part of this society. Many depictions
have been made of such a society in movies and novels. They all seem to follow a
similar path; people distance themselves from each other, hiding behind technology.
With technology growing rapidly, there will be a shortage of jobs, meaning there
must be solutions to a stable economy. Furthermore, such society must follow strict
guidelines and laws for it to remain utopian.
One such depiction is the universe of Wall E. In this future utopia, humanity has
abandoned Earth and are living on a big space ... Show more content on

The need for its economy to keep circulating requires a different view to the job
market as it is now. This is to prevent massive homelessness because of the
automation overtaking many simpler jobs. Tech based majors will have a great
time in this utopia with an endless number of job positions needed to keep society
mostly automated. People with other skills will still have a place in this society,
because some things simply cannot be done as well by a robot, be it cooking,
sports or entertainment. Extra secure laws and regulations will help lower the
crime rates. Such society doesn t need extra strict laws, just more serious
consequences to extreme wrongdoings such as murder or rape. Adding technology
to every part of our lives will also keep many of the crimes from happening such as
technologically advanced home security. There will still be much that should be
agreed on for society to follow these guidelines. Especially if the government shall
receive less power, this society has to be very well planned out to prevent catastrophic
results. With all this in mind, this technologically advanced utopia seems rather
plausible in the near
33. The Status Of The Current Texas Constitution
The status of the current Texas Constitution has been a growing source of
controversy. Originally written to limit the power of government after Radical
Reconstruction (Champagne 84), the 1876 Constitution has remained in effect
despite Texas dramatic growth and development over the years. The document
contains many explicit details that, unlike the U.S. Constitution, leave minimal room
for flexibility in interpretation. At 86,936 words in length, the Texas Constitution has
thus far required 467 amendments, the fourth highest number within the country
(Champagne 91).
Unsurprisingly, many attempts have been made to replace the document with a more
modern and applicable one. However, all have failed. In 1974, despite extending the
length of the constitutional convention, politicians were unable to unite, broken into
several factions. The resulting constitution barely missed the two thirds majority
needed to pass (Champagne 90). Senator John Montford created an updated
constitution in 1995, but resigned before his initiative could gain momentum.
Another attempt in 1999 by Bill Ratliff and Rob Junell also failed upon not receiving
sufficient support in committee (Henson 2.14 V).
Successfully rewriting the constitution requires a large nucleus of support to
overcome the many obstacles to its ratification. First, due to the complexity of
drafting such a document, a constitutional convention would realistically need to be
called. The 1876 Texas Constitution does not explicitly

Looking at the books of wisdom of the Old Testament, the ideas of diligence and
laziness have been greatly captured. Diligence has been displayed in a much
positive way, unlike laziness which has been greatly condemned and looked down
upon in most of the books of wisdom in the Old Testament (Hindson and Yates
2012). Though the two ideas looked to have been intertwined making them closely
related, they are totally different from each other. It must be understood that the
books of proverbs and Ecclesiastes are the books of wisdomthat have handled the two
ideas in more expansive manner and thus become our center of focus as we discuss
the two in greater details.
As stated above, the books of proverbs and Ecclesiastes provide a wide description ...

In this, we are able to infer that listening to a diligent person is more important than
listening to a lazy person. This is because a diligent person is a person who is full
of wisdom, unlike a lazy person who is full of foolishness (Ecclesiastes 10:10 12
RSV). It has been stated in the book of Ecclesiastes that those words that come out
of the mouth of a wise person are more gracious and blessing than those that comes
out of a foolish person whose words are full of foolishness and their end is mere
madness. It is, therefore, clear that those words that come out of a diligent person
have a lot of wisdom are greatly valued as compared to those words that come out
of a lazy person which are full of foolishness. Such words can only lead to madness
and nothing good can ever come out of them as compared to those from a diligent
person which are more gracious and valuable. Laziness is therefore regarded as evil
and has nothing good to offer to anyone and no one should pay attention to people
with such qualities and tendencies. Ecclesiastes encourages us to pay more attention
to the diligent people as they have a lot of wisdom which if put into practice; the
results are good and much

How heavily do one s characteristics impact their life? Hardy Lawrence s, The
Mayor of Casterbridge, answers this question with the main protagonist. By focusing
on psychological aspects, nuanced characters, and the everlasting concept of life s
consequence, the power of the character is revealed. Ultimately, one s character
defines their life substantially. The Mayor of Casterbridgerevolves around the theme
of character. Michael Henchard, the novels protagonist, is also the most complex.
From the beginning, Henchard is filled with bitterness. He is doomed for demise.
Despite his efforts to change, he cannot. Henchard is described as a dejected
twenty one year old hay trusser. His drunken rage leads him to sell his wife and
daughter at a county fair for a mere five guineas. Following his actions, he
experiences extreme guilt, which is indicative of his tendency to respond to his
circumstances with intense emotions. Swaying from one extreme emotion to
another is part of Henchard s character that makes him as complex as he is. As the
novel progresses, the reader notices Henchard s change of heart towards various
circumstances and people. As the novel opens with chaos and bitterness, it alludes
to the general tone of Henchard s life. The detail in which the protagonist is
described allows for a deep analysis of his character. Lawrence portrays Hechard as
a character that aligns with the classic tragic hero. His impetuous behavior leads to

Women, slaves, and Native Americans were not included in all men . In the

39. Application Of Cellulases On Juice Recovery
Application of Cellulases on Juice Recovery
Introduction
Cellulose is the most abundant compound produced from stalks, leaves, and stems
(Shankar, 2011). The use of enzymes in the food industry provides safer and higher
quality products. Cellulases are enzymes which break down the sugar cellulose.
Cellulase enzymes are produced by fungi, animals, plants, and bacteria. (Zhang
2013) The cellulase enzyme has been used for various industry applications such as
the textile industry, paper industry, and juice industry. Cellulases link beta, 1,4
linkages in the cellulose chains (Zhang 2013). There are three types of cellulase
enzymes: endoglucanases, exoglucanases, and beta glucosidases. Exoglucanases
act on the reducing or non reducing ends of cellulose (Zhang, 2013).
Endoglucanases cut the nonreducing ends of cellulose or the beta 1,4 bonds.
Endoglucanases are also produced by bacteria, fungi, plants, and animals
(Zhang,2013). Lastly, beta glucosidases are produced by archaea, bacteria, fungi,
plants, and animals and are known for degrading cellobiose (Zhang, 2013). All three
forms of cellulases are produced from animals, bacteria, and plants. The purpose of
this paper will be to discuss mainly the cellulase enzyme and its effect on the juice
industry in addition to other applications of cellulase, and how cellulase behaves in
combination with other enzymes such as pectinase and xylanase.

40. Essay On Drug Court
The drug court is specialized and designed for adults, who are not violent but who
have problems with substance abuse, where they are placed in a supervised intensive
treatment program as an alternative sentence of their offense. This can be achieved
thanks to the effort that the judicial power has achieved in coordination with the
legal defense, conditional freedom, social services, etc. The main goal of the drug
court is to reduce the use of drugs and so that criminal offenses are not repeated.
When I attended to observe the drug court in Salt Lake City,I did not really know
what to expect, it was at that moment where I can better understand how the justice

A particular case in which the individual had been released recently, had to report
to the designated home where he would have to stay for a while and had to arrive
at a certain time, but he did not have how to get there, a boy who has already
completed his program, he offered to give him a ride. That seemed a very nice gesture.
Personally, it was really a fabulous experience, where now I can say or comment
with others about how the drug court system really works for offenders with drug
abuse. Overall, attending the meeting before the court session began was very
helpful in order to better understand how the program works, and how it is
assigned to each individual. In this meeting we could hear the judge, prosecutor,
therapist, detectives and probation officers, etc, reviewing each case of the people
who are in the program. Each case of these people is reviewed, regarding the goals,
education, work, family, etc. where they establish concern or happiness for the
progress of each person.
In conclusion, I liked and enjoyed very much to see how these people who work in
the court have the same goal of helping these individuals to get out of drugs in
order to lead a healthier life. Each of the members of the court are really involved
not only because it is their job, but they mark a difference in the lives of these
individuals, showing them that they really care and expect them to succeed in the
program. Many of these individuals do not have family

The Unified Modeling language (UML) is defined in the Software Engineering as
a form of defining the design of the system. It is a way to envision the system
architecture in the form of a diagram. The paper discusses about the genesis of
UML modeling and the forms of diagrams which are used in the UML modeling
based on the survey conducted on various employees based on their skill set and
level of experience in the software engineering field. Now we will go through each
aspect of the UML modeling and try to derive conclusions on how far was UML
modeling has been able to penetrate into day to day activities of this field and also
discuss about the complexities associated with each components of the UML
modeling as well as pros and cons. UML is powerful modeling language by which
we can develop many diagrams which are user ready.UML can be used in web and

Material...
The increasing demand for housing and growing interest in environmentally friendly
building designs motivates the investigation of the hygrothermal performance of the
building insulation material. The water vapor transfer rate, water vapor permeability,
water vapor permanence, water vapor absorption rate, thermal conductivity and
thermal conductance are the key hygrothermal properties, which establish the
performance index of the building insulation material. The building envelopes are
subjected to the various environmental factors such as extreme temperature ranges
from 40 degree to +50 degree, solar radiation, Wind energy, Rain [1]. The design of
the building insulation material derived from the environmental condition of the

The characterization of any building insulation material is evolved from the water
vapor permeability (WVP) during these days. The effect of temperature on the WVP
is determined during this testing. The results are evaluated with the existing results
from the recent studies as per described in the ASTM Standard Test Method E96.
The tests are compared on the basis of their WVT, WVP. The Four building
insulation material used during the testing are 1) Siding Sheathing Paper 2)
Stormtite Sheathing Paper 3) Gypsum Board 4) Plywood (3/8 inch). The three
temperature ranges are adopted for each building insulation material which is 1) Low
Temperature 2 to 3 degrees, 2) Room Temperature 22 degree and High Temperature
47 to 52 degree respectively. There is narrow information is available on the
temperature dependency of the WVP for widely used building insulation materials
and this testing establish the results and temperature dependency of the building
insulation materials. Chapter 2: Objective and Project Layout The objective of the
project is to investigate the hygrothermal

Equality s Dark Side in In Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Bergeron
The goal of countless societies throughout human history has been to establish both
complete freedom and absolute equality. However, this goal is, by its very nature,
unachievable. These two ideal states cannot coexist in their most perfect forms. Also,
the perfect forms of either freedom or equality represent total chaos or total
oppression, respectively. In Kurt Vonneguts Harrison Bergeron, we see the
consequences of sacrificing freedom for perfect equality. Vonnegut uses the story of
this utopia gone wrong to demonstrate that a society in which total equality exists is
not only oppressive, but also static and inefficient. He makes this point using his
futuristic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of Harrison Bergeron, this is represented by Diana Moon Glampers.
She is never portrayed as having any handicaps and must be assumed to have a
level of intelligence above that of Hazel, who represents what this society calls
normal, to carry out her job. Societal changes do not happen over night. If people s
freedom were taken away in one fell swoop they would fight it. Instead, oppression
is a series of small losses of freedom. It s like the old analogy of a frog and boiling
water. If you drop a frog in boiling water, he jumps out, on the contrary, if you put a
frog in cool water and slowly raise it to boiling, he boils to death. This process is
shown in the story by the fact that All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and
213th Amendments to the Constitution (243). Given that this story was written in
1961, is set in 2081, and is the author s prediction for the future of his society, we
can assume that this process of making everyone equal through oppression took
place over a 120 year period. Some would argue that, although we re not to this
level of oppression yet, we re well on our way with institutions such as affirmative
action. Whereas equality is sometimes the will of the governed people, this is often
not the case. People like to be rewarded for doing things that are above and beyond
average. If they can do a better job and make more money than next person, they
believe they should be allowed to. Even the below average of
44. Stereotypes In Social Psychology Paper
Aside from arising from mental shortcuts, it has also been proposed that stereotypes
are a result of group conflict (Sherif, 1966). Regularly, individuals behave in a way
that is expected of them in order to uphold the impressions others have of them. Thus,
individuals act accordingly and embody the stereotypewhich is projected upon them
(Baumeister Bushman). The degree to which we rely on stereotypes when
establishing judgements of others has been widely investigated in the field of social
psychology. Frequently, the harmful consequences of relying on stereotypes is noted
with the potential of this tendency to lead to prejudiceand discrimination.
Furthermore, the variation in the significance of stereotypes has been explored to

Furthermore, these processes are potentially subject to bias due to the assimilative
effects of existing knowledge on information processing (Macrae, Stangor
Hewstone, 1996). It is essential to comprehend these concepts before delving into
the importance of stereotypes when forming impressions of others. In the initial
stage of developing schemas, they allow the individual to ignore what is perceived
to be unimportant or unnecessary details of a situation, thus reducing the complexity
of the information (Macrae, Stangor Hewstone, 1996). Indeed, schemas guide
behaviour and allow a platform for individuals to make mental shortcuts and
damaging stereotypes, they can also simplify life and are useful in every day
situations (Macrae, Stangor Hewstone, 1996). For example, if one had an existing
stereotype that guns are dangerous and hastily decided to move to the other side of
the street after noticing a man with a gun this would be an extremely useful and
possibly life saving use of a stereotype. However, whether stereotypes are considered
to be beneficial or unconstructive they are undeniably important when forming
impressions of other

St. Anne s School of Annapolis is an Episcopal School that uses a humanistic holistic
approach to educate its students by building intelligence, social and emotional skill,
and spiritual growth. St. Anne s uses Reggio Emilia, Project, and Experiential
Learning curriculum to educate its students. According to St. Anne s these
approaches work together to develop an inquiry centered learning environment that
promotes critical thinking, new perspectives and creativity. St. Anne s belief is that
their students grow by investigating, challenging, discovering and learning how they

46. Analysis Of The Book If The Chronicles Of Narnia
If The Chronicles of Narnia is read in chronological order, C.S. Lewis introduces
Polly Plummer as his first main female character in The Magician s Nephew.
However, the title indicates this story is not about her; it is about Digory, the
magician s nephew. She explores and travels with Digory as his friend, but her
involvement in the story is mainly seen through her impact on Digory s
perspective and decisions. Nevertheless, by the same feminist ideology that
declares each person prove her own merit, the strength of Polly s characterization
should be measured on its own. To suggest, as Susan Henthrone does in The Image
of Woman in the Fiction of C.S. Lewis, that Polly s role as a supporting character
means that she is not a strong character is to do a disservice to her distinctive
characterization. Digory s indignation at Uncle Andrew s sexist manipulations and
comments serves to undermine the conception that Lewis, as a narrator,
undervalues Polly simply because of her gender. To get Digory to go to what he
calls the Other World, Uncle Andrew tricks Polly into putting on the green ring that
will transport her without giving her the ring that would bring her back. It would
be easy to assume, from Digory s initial condemnation of Andrew in the
exclamation that he behaved like a coward, sending a girl into a place you re afraid
to go yourself (Lewis, 25), that Lewis implies that Polly s gender, and some inherent
weakness therein, makes Andrew s trickery truly
47. How Does Poe Use Symbols In The Fall Of The House Of
Usher
An ever present duality of mind and body; a slow decent into madness. These are
the ideas that forge the cornerstone of Edgar Allen Poe s The Fall of the House of
Usher. This is a story of terror and mystery, a story that makes a reader wish to
progress further, but yet turn their head at every page out of fear. Throughout this
story Poe uses symbolism and elements of gothic literature to craft a story that digs
deep into the human psyche to pull out the madness within. The Fall of the House of
Usheris riddled with symbolic ideas that help make a beautifully woven together
story. When our narrator first meets with key character, and long childhood friend
Roderick he proclaims to himself that the room contains, Feeble gleams of

48. Midgley s Idea Of Moral Relativism
We currently live in a society that is pushing towards the idea that no one should be
discriminated against. This includes discrimination over one s culture and beliefs.
While this broad idea seems good, it comes with unforeseen problems. In this essay,
I am going to argue against Midgley s idea of moral relativismand how their ideas
create an unhealthy society leading towards anarchy. Moralrelativism is a prominent
idea in philosophy that asks the question Who am I to judge? . This question focus
primarily on morals between different people and cultures. As different cultures
have different values and ways of life it stands that the morals between two
cultures would vary, whether it be minimally or vastly. Midgley believed it was
impossible to understand other cultures way, and that if we wanted to remain
respectful and non discriminatory then we must not pass any form of judgement
upon each other. Moral relativism is a problematic idea that will lead to a global
society with no rules. If it is believed that you can not judge another for what they
find morally acceptable, then it is not a far reach to say that you can not stop
another person from doing what they find morally acceptable as well. With actions
such as that, the world we live in would be drastically different from what it is now.
In the mid 1900s, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moral relativism focuses on the idea that you cannot judge someone s morals if they
are different than yours, leading to the problem that you cannot stop their actions
since they are dictated by morals. Our prison system is put in place to stop those
who have performed actions we deem immoral. The problem with this is that if we
cannot deem any actions immoral then we can never place anyone in a prison. This
places those who have not done immoral deeds in an unsafe position where they must
live amongst thieves and
49. Literacy Is The Most Important Quality Essay
Literacy is important. If you re not literate, how will you ever be able to function in
society? As someone who is literate, and barely functions himself, this is important.
There is quite a lot to think about here. For example, How does one become literate?
or, Is literacy even important? or, How does literacyopen and close doors? Yes that s
right, I said close. If one is literate they can do anything, or nothing. One can
masterfully piece words together in such a way that they anger people, sadden
people, and more. Literacy is the most important quality a person can have, while
also being the least important quality a person can have. Yes, those statements
were intentionally contradictory, and no, they weren t clever time wasters. Those
statements are to show that literacy is hard to talk about. So let s try to have a nice
little examination of literacy. When talking about literacy one must, consequently,
start at the bottom and work up. It just makes the whole discussion easier. How
does one even become literate? Every single person on the planet will give a
different answer. There s not some how to book for becoming literate, or some pill
you take. You do things that involve other people s works of literature and build
your own semblance of literacy off of theirs until finally, your literacy has enough
gumption to stand up on the metaphorical literature pedestal with Dickens and
Tolstoy. Of course, I haven t quite made it that far yet. So here is my story up to
50. Alternative Lumber Harvesting Methods Like Shelterwood
The U.S. Lumber Industry is one of the largest industries in the U.S., employing
more than 1.4 million people and producing products valued at more than $200
billion every year according to the USDA (2004). The US Forest Industry is unique
in that their methods for harvesting lumber are closely scrutinized by private
organizations, sectors of the U.S. government, as well as internally by the logging
companies themselves. In many areas, old techniques and methods are being
discarded and researchers are struggling to keep up. Forests of the Pacific Northwest
have primarily been harvested with clear cutting systems. Clear cutting systems lead
to many ecological issues such as poor aesthetics, habitat disturbance, increased
streamflow, and soil erosion among others (Bliss 2000). Alternative lumber
harvesting methods like Shelterwood (Matthews 1989) and Group Selection systems
have been developed as different approaches to Silvicultural maintenance. The
proposed benefits of these approaches as alternatives to clearcutting include; greater
forest biodiversity, greater aesthetic quality, improved forest regeneration and greater
future timber fields of that area. In order to effectively determine the feasibility of the
alternate lumber harvesting systems of Shelterwood Systems Group Selection
Cutting, long term observation of forest regeneration is needed. Forest regeneration
is key in determining the success of any silvicultural system. This paper will look at
forest regeneration
51. Is Hamlet A Coward Analysis
What is a coward? A coward is a person who lacks the courage to do or endure
dangerous or unpleasant things. In William Shakespeare s play Hamlet a grief
stricken prince of Denmark comes home to his father s funeral and he seeks revenge
against the murderer. Hamlet is a story of love, loss, and overall revenge.
Hamlet is also a coward because of his inability to act against those who betrayed
him, but had other people carry out their demise. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern
used to be friends of Hamlet until they betrayed him for the King and Queen and
for money. They spied on Hamlet for the King and Queen and for money. Later we
discover that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were carrying letters and Hamlet states
in the final words of the letters That, on the supervise, no leisure bated,/No, not to
stay the grinding of the axe,/My head should be strook off. (V. ii. 22 24). With this
statement Hamlet explains that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were escorting him to
his death at the hands of the English. Instead of dealing with the traitors himself he
rewrites the letters to the English state Without debatement further, more or less,
/ He should those bearers put to sudden death,/Not shriving time allow d. (V. ii. 45
48). He had the English kill him so he did not have to endure a painful experience.
That is nearly the exact definition of a coward. He did not have the courage to do
what needed to be done. We eventually find out that the British were capable of
getting rid of
52. Positive Illusions And Negative Illusions
Positive illusions are unrealistic, biased attitudes that individuals have about
themselves and towards other individuals, normally close friends or family
members. Positive illusions is a perception that represents what is perceived in a
way different from the way it is in reality. An illusion is a false mental image or
conception which may be a misinterpretation of a real appearance or may be
something imagined. It may be pleasing, harmless or even useful (Stein, 1982, p
662). The more positive illusionsthe higher self esteem an individual has. It should be
noted that positive illusions are more common in western countries than other parts
of the world. Research has found that positive illusions promote a better mental
health. There... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Illusion of control is the distorted opinion of the individual s personal control over
different types of situations. These individuals believe they have control over the
roll of a dice or the flip of a coin. An example of illusion of control is when a gambler
thinks they can control the dice being rolled or the next card to be flipped over.
Question 2
Approximately 117 Americans die every day to suicide and for every suicide there is
25 other unsuccessful attempts (Suicide Statistics, 2016). The American Foundation
for Suicide Prevention says that suicide is the 10th leading cause of deaths in the
USA and that 42773 American dies every year. Research shows that suicide happens
to any race, gender or age.
The belief is that people who talk about suicided aren t really going to go through
with it; this belief is completely false. Often suicidal people make subtle hints
leading up to the event. Some subtle hints include: I know where my dad s gun is
if I ever need it, I have the perfect plan to end it all, I wonder what that chemical
taste like or, I wonder what it feels like to bleed out and leave forever. Others often
discuss their depression and how there isn t anything to live for. Another false belief
is suicide cannot be prevented. If an individual gets help early enough for the
depression and suicidal thought Suicide begins as a chain of events. First, the
individual feels worthless and inadequate.
53. Mythology In Crish Mythology
In Ireland around 900 B.C., a sophisticated new culture, rich in recounting all of the
mythological beasts and deities of the land, began to blossom. While today it is
simply known as Celtic folklore, the ancient tribes of the British Isles relied on
these stories to explain the natural world they lived in. The rise of the Roman
Empire and the spread of Christianity, however, nearly destroyed the age old legends
and stories. Irish monks began to write down the spirited tales, but most of their
manuscripts vanished over time. Because of the oral tradition behind many Celtic
myths, many stories may have been distorted and changed as people began to spread
new knowledge and ideas. Nonetheless, the Celtic culturerefuses to be forgotten as the
art, legends, and people of its history continue to live on in the modern world.
Mythology often influenced many of the religious practices and traditional customs
of the Celtic culture through its symbols, ideology, and morals. The Celtic Creation

The festival marked the beginning of the summer season for the Celts, which
symbolized growth, life, and fertility. They held the same profound love and respect
for life as the ancient goddess Epona when she saved the two first humans from the
wrath of the monstrous deep sea beasts. The Celts would build two large fires on the
sacred date and dance around a maypole, leaping and frolicking all across the
countryside. They drove their cattle through the smoke of the flames, hoping that the
gods would bless them with good health for the impending season. These early people
rejoiced the fruitfulness of the earth and the bounties it provided upon its awakening.
Through this practice, the Celts hoped to protect the crops, cattle, and people of their
village from destructive natural
54. Innovation of Mobile Phone Payments
Innovation is a more effective and efficient way of performing tasks. It is not an
invention but rather, using a current model and simplifying it to enhance the overall
experience of its users. Furthermore, it can eliminate existing problems issues that
the users are facing. As there are more than 6 billion mobile subscriptions
worldwide, countries all around the world are embracing mobile phone payments.
While developed countries are embracing this new technology, as mobile coverage
and connectivity rate is high, developed countries are also adopting the practice, as it
does not only rely on Internet access.
This essay will look at various methods of mobile phone payments and it s impact on
both individuals and the society.
Mobile phone payments allow consumers to pay for a wide range of goods and
services using phones instead of cash, credit/debit cards and cheques. One of the
models for payment is by using Short Message Service (SMS) or Unstructured
Supplementary Service Data (USSD). Consumers can send payment requests via
text messages that will be charged to their phone bill or online wallet. This mode of
payment does not require Internet access, which allows developing nations with
poorer population and inferior facilities to participate. An example would be the
Nigerian mobile pay service, Paga. Users are simply required to enter their
identification number as well as the amount necessary.
Another mode of payment is the Mobile Web Payment where users access to a
55. Manifestation Of Ageism
The second consideration for the selection of this population pertains to the less
explored albeit equally important concept of productivity among aging people. It
cannot be emphasized enough that alarmist discourse on the possible effects of an
aging population tends to discount the potential of aging people as resources.
Undeniably, there is an overwhelming belief that the age of 65 signifies an end to
productivity. However, this is not necessarily true, considering that associating aging
people with notions of feebleness and unproductivity is stereotypical and a distinct
manifestation of ageism. To note, aging people are cast in cultural stereotypes such as
being senile, feeble, frail, financially distressed, lonely, non productive members

money. In 1909, Briggs filed a patent for a gas engine igniter to replace the existing
magneto system in automobiles. This product was the beginning of Briggs and
