Introduction to iptv solution for hotel apartment mall hospitalA H M A D I (madi)
Local IPTV, also known as Building IPTV, is designed to distribute television and video across building or campus networks over a local area network (LAN). The content is injected directly into the building LAN firewall. For rganisations, this has three fundamental advantages over consumer-oriented forms of IPTV:
• It leverages the comparatively limitless bandwidth of organisational LANs to deliver much higher quality to many more users.
• It allows much more stringent access control not just by channel, but by business unit, department, group, or even individual user.
• It does not consume any internet bandwidth, which is far more costly than LAN bandwidth.
Introduction to iptv final solution for hotel apartment mallAhmadi Madi
Building IPTV will help organisations to maximise the value of TV and video
content by delivering it throughout a buildings IP network (LAN) to TVs, and
AV display equipment. It offers superior quality, scalability, manageability, and
cost effectiveness, compared to traditional analogue audio-visual (AV)
solutions that require a separate network. Organisations can leverage IPTV to
enhance the customer experience, and create new revenue streams.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

8. Three ways people can use interactive TV today are:
Control Your Programming.
Buy Products and Services from the Comfort of your
Own TV Set.
Vote and Give Your Opinion.
9. Many TV watchers can easily pause live programming,
record shows or skip through TV advertisements. On
some programs such as a documentary, there might be
layers of information that a viewer might be able to
access with just a click of the remote. Many cable and
satellite companies already include DVR's (digital video
recorders) that can digitally store programming, so that
you can pause your show, watch shows from different
angles or skip through commercials.
10. Another common feature that is making its way into the
interactive TV market is the ability to purchase products
and services via your TV set. Today, you can easily
purchase a pay per view program with the click of the
remote, but very soon, you might be able to watch a TV
commercial and instantly purchase and pay for the product
being advertised with just one click.
11. The ability to vote or cast your opinion via the TV set.
Many television programming asks viewers to
participate live with their show. This might be in the
form of voting for a favorite entertainer, voting in a
news poll or giving your opinion on a new show.
13. Viewers / End users
Mobile Operators
WiFi Data Server / SMS Gateway
WiCAST Moderator Machine

14. Interactive programming benefits both the viewers and
businesses involved :-
For viewers, there are more choices in programming
than ever before and you can do much more with how
you view your TV.
For businesses, interactive TV helps them market
products and services that a specific viewer or
household is interested in. Interactive TV is here to stay
and you should see much more uses for it in the near
future
16. In WiCAST Interactive TV (Voice based games) some
show is going on a television and in between the show some
exciting interactive voice based games are broadcasted.
In this a band consisting of information about how to play a
game is displayed on a television channel.
Example:
If a viewer is interested he / she will send a message; this
message goes to the operator which is forwarded to the
channels and it gets stored in the database of a channel.
From this database, a player is selected randomly and his / her
name is displayed on a television.
The channel will then call to the viewer.
Phone in equipment is used to receive the voice from the
player. It is then given to the audio switcher.
17. An audio switcher has two outputs, one goes to the studio and one
goes to the moderator / controller.
Moderator uses the moderator machine to control the operation such
as start, stops, setting the cut off frequency for the game etc.
The output of the moderator machine goes to the CG Machine. CG
Machine is used for graphic generation which is broadcasted on the
television for playing the games.
The output of CG Machine is given to the video / audio switcher.
One of the inputs to the video/ audio switcher is from the CG
Machine and one is from the play out station.
Play out station includes contents of a television channel.
Video / Audio switcher is used to combine the audio and video
information from the play out station and CG Machine.
It is then transmitted to a satellite using a transmitter and from the
satellite it is broadcasted on the television channel.
18. While playing the games there are three types of questions
Entry level question.
a: visual round
b: casino round
c: ABCD round
Any of the rounds can be used as an entry level question , this is
based on studio operators choice
Voice level questions.
It consists of games such as:
a : Tug of war
b : Car race game
c : Ganesha garland game
d: Football game
e : Candle game etc.
19. For all the above game a cut off frequency is set and a player is asked
to blow or say something in a telephone speaker.
If a players frequency matches or goes above the set cut off frequency
then the player wins and vice- versa.
Prize game.
In prize game 20 boxes are shown, and there are prizes in 3 out of
20 boxes and rest of the boxes contains dolls or some other things.
These boxes are shuffled and a player is asked to select one. Like
this a player is given 3 chances to win a game
20. • Interactive Voice Response - is a technology that automates
interactions with telephone callers.
• Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems allow callers to
interact with your communications system over the telephone.
• IVR is used to enable the caller to retrieve information from a
database, enter information into a database, or both. IVR
systems allow you to efficiently exchange information,
reducing clerical processing.
• Enterprises are increasingly turning to IVR to reduce the cost
of common sales, service, collections, inquiry and support
calls to and from their company.
• Historically, IVR solutions have used pre-recorded voice
prompts and menus to present information and options to
callers, and touch-tone telephone keypad entry to gather
responses.
• Modern IVR solutions also enable input and responses to be
gathered via spoken words with voice recognition.
21. An IVR system talks to callers following a recorded script. It
prompts a response and waits for the caller to respond either
verbally or by pressing a touchtone key, and supplies the
caller with information based on responses made.
IMPORTANT FEATURES OF IVR SYSTEM
IVR system should store responses made by callers.
Should be able to provide different responses to callers based
on time of day called.
Should be able to capture either touch-tone or voice responses
by callers.
22.
23. When a customer dials some short code using his mobile
number, the call flows via MSC / Switch and it is routed to
the respective operator servers through PSTN.
The MSC first checks the mobile number of the incoming call
accordingly routes the call to the respective operators.
It also checks whether the incoming short code is configured
in the MSC or not; if not then it will send “Connection Error
Message” to the customer.
24. The operator checks the short codes in the incoming call, and
routes the call to the appropriate servers. There are number of
servers like WiFi Network server, Cerebrum, On Mobile etc,
these servers contains different short codes, depending on the
dialed short code the operator passes the call to the
appropriate server (WiFi server). From the WiFi server the
call goes to the WiFi desktop, from this point the customer
starts communicating with the recorded voice (i.e. IVRS). In
this a customer hears a Welcome Note, Language selection
statement, menu.
25. Example:
• If a customer dials 121(short code), it will go to the MSC.
• MSC will check for two parameters –
Mobile number and
Short code.
• If it is a valid mobile number then MSC will forward the call
to the appropriate operators server( in this case Airtel),the
operator will then check the short code and accordingly it will
forward the call to the respective server in which the short
code is configured (WiFi server).
• It goes to the WiFi desktop and then a customer will hear a
welcome note ( welcome to Airtel customer care) ; Language
selection (press 1 for English, press 2 for Hindi and so on)
26. Menu ( press 1 for balance enquiry, press 2 for refill,
press 3 for value added services press 4 to talk to the
customer care employee and so on); a customer will
dial one digit according to his /her requirement
(suppose a customer presses 4) in this case WiFi
Networks server will route the call to the Airtel BPO
and the further operation will be carried out by them.
The above process is known as In- bound Call where
the customer calls the operator using a short code.
27. Out bound Call:
In this a mobile operator calls the customer and a customer
hears the recorded voice to offer some services which are
basically value added services(ring tones, astrology etc) a
customer will be charged for these services if he / she
activates these services.
Impact on Business
Interactive Voice System will help you to:
Increase customer service levels.
Extend customer service hours.
Improve information dissemination.
Increase employee productivity.
Secure voice conveyed transactions.
Reduce operations cost.
28. WiFi NETWORKS is an upcoming VAS provider which
focuses mainly on interactive television and covers most
of the southern region in India.
The other players in this market are ON MOBILE,
CEREBRUM
In our two months project in this company we came to
know how broad the vas domain is and we came to know
how really the vas companies carry out their work.
