Past Indefinite Tense

DEFINITION
The past tense is used for actions that
took place in the past time, But not a
specific time is given. This tense
doesn’t indicate whether the action was
complete or incomplete.
In simple words, we can say that it is
used to describe the past situation, past
action and past habits.
FOR EXAMPLE
•They went to school.
•He worked very hard.
•She wrote a letter.
•He went to a zoo.
STRUCTURE OF PAST INDEFINITE
TENSE
Subject+ Verb(2nd form)+ Object
e.g. She took tea daily.
He ate apples.
He woke up early in the morning.
Types of Verb
There two types of a verb.
Regular Verb
Irregular Verb
The regular verb forms –ed verb in 2nd & 3rd form.
e.g. play →played. played
cross→ crossed, crossed.
The irregular verb forms all the three different forms of
verb.
e.g. teach→ taught, taught , run→ran, run
come→ came, come , go→went, gone
