Education And Poverty In Education
How does poverty affect educational opportunities? The impacts of poverty on children are wide
reaching and can prompt long term life struggles, particularly when young people don t receive a good
education. Poverty and education are inseparably connected, on the grounds that people living in
poverty may quit school, so they can work instead, which leaves them with a lack of literacy and
numeracy skills, which then causes them to not be able to advance in their careers. Their children,
thusly are brought up in a comparable circumstance years later, with little income and few options, but
to leave school and work. For the students living in poverty that do choose to stay in school have to
deal with the poor education offered near their home. Most high poverty, high minority schools will
receive significantly less state and local money than more wealthy schools, and students in such
schools will probably be taught by teachers who are unpracticed or teaching outside their specialties.
Studies have also been done about how physical and social emotional factors of living in poverty can
affect students cognitive performance in a detrimental way. There s a lot of reason that students
decided to drop out of school: little support from parents, lack of motivation, poor academic
performance. However, for low income students, the decision to quit school is more economic. These
students need to work to support their families. Urban Institute, using data from 2008 2012 American

Comparing Two Speeches In Julius Caesar
Speech is power: speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel. Ralph Waldo Emerson. In the play
Julius Caesar, by William Shakespeare, there are two instances of speeches that persuade, convert, and
compel the audiences. Both of the speakers had beliefs that were polar opposites, and both speeches
brought forth many emotions and convictions that drove the crowd to nearly killing others. The first of
the speeches, given by Brutus, was intended to compel the audience to believe that killing Julius
Caesar was a good thing for Rome. This drove the crowd crazy, and they were all on the same boat as
him, until Mark Antony comes along. Antony talks to the crowd and controls them in such a way, that
almost immediately, the crowd is convinced by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He first defends Brutus, For Brutus is an honorable man. (3.2.83) As he tells the crowd how honorable
and noble Brutus was, he also manages to twist Brutus s own words against him. He quotes Brutus
calling Caesar ambitious, and he gives multiple examples of how Caesar, in fact, wasn t ambitious,
When that the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept; Ambition should be made of sterner stuff. (3.2.92
93) And another one, I thrice presented him a kingly crown, Which he did thrice refuse. Was this
ambition? Yet Brutus says he was ambitious... (3.2.97 99) Antony is discrediting Brutus, and starting
an uprising against him. Not surprisingly, there is one last straw that Antony presented to the crowd,
Caesar s own will. Antony first tells the crowd how he found it in a closet, I found it in his closet; tis
his will. (3.2.130) And as the plebeians holler at Antony demanding him to read the will, he adamantly
refuses to read the will multiple times, thus creating a large force of momentum. Soon after, Antony
starts rattling off tales and regrets about Caesar, that eventually the Plebeians are roused up into a
bloodlust and are ready to murder all of the conspirators. Finally, Antony reads out the will to the
audience, To every Roman citizen he gives, to every several man, seventy five drachmas. (3.3.242

Character Analysis Of Esperanza Rising
In the book Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan, Esperanza is the main character who is the
protagonist. Esperanza is a thirteen year old child that has been faced with more tragic events from the
age of nine to thirteen than some may experience their whole life time. Her character is very smart,
determined, and compassionate just like some of the kids you may know. The author does a great job
with allowing the reader to get inside Esperanza s head to understand her thinking and logic. The
author uses Esperanza life to encourage children who may be going through some of the same
experience, that they could make it through to. Although Esperanza is just a normal kid trying to have
fun, the constant tragic events in her life forces her to mature instantly becoming a strong young adult.
This paper will discuss how Esperanza grew up and some of Esperanza reactions that shows her
growth in maturity, while exploring some of the conflicts Esperanza experienced that causes her to
change her thinking.
First, the book starts off telling the story of how Esperanza grew up in a loving wealthy family who
owned El Rancho de las Rosas in Aguascalientes, Mexico. She was surrounded by generations of
family members who loved her. The family had lots of servants who worked for them during the grape
harvest season and they also helped them with everything else during the off season. Esperanza was a
young girl who really didn t understand poverty and was known to have a snobbish attitude at times
when she was little because of her family s wealth. She was surrounded by families that were just as
wealthy as her own so poverty was not a norm in their community. There are many examples of her
snobby ways in the beginning of book like when she first boarded a train in Mexico and realizes that
she and her friend definitely wouldn t be traveling first class. Her reaction to this was basically like:
You expect me to travel coach?! Yeah right. It was evident Esperanza did not use to a present lifestyle.
Esperanza father was her biggest mentor and she followed his teachings very closely. After the death
of her father, it was people like Abuelita, Mama, and Miguel that help keep Esperanza diva tude in
check which helped keep her

Factors That Influence The Development Of Cerebral Palsy
Purpose The purpose of this article is to explore and gain an understanding of the factors that
influence the development of cerebral palsy in infants born prematurely and at term. Description This
article explores a number of factors that have been identified as well as what still needs to be done in
regards to establishing the etiology of cerebral palsy (CP). The author notes that there is still little
research (as of 2008) in regards of the environmental influence on the development of CP. The
research for CP in obstetrics has been led by Eastman and DeLeon since the mid 1950s. Their study
had 5 major findings that have been the basis for more current research. Their findings were that
although prematurity is a risk factor, the majority of CP develops in infants were born at term.
Secondly, placental abruption and cord prolapse, while dangerous to the fetus and uncommon, do not
contribute a major share to CP. Thirdly, while in the delivery room, half of the term infants that were
deemed in good health then later developed CP. Fourth, congenital anomalies can be attributed as a
cause of CP. Lastly, mothers who were febrile during labor increased the chances of their children
developing CP. The author goes onto to talk about how we (as doctors and researchers) know what we
know about CP. Nelson cites the development of neuroimaging technologies, helping with the
discovery of brain malformations as a contributing cause of CP. The author then delves into the

The Lesson by Toni Cade Bambara Essay
The Lesson by Toni Cade Bambara The major theme of the story was creating awareness in
adolescents about what life has to offer. The nature of human beings of accepting the realities of life to
such an extent that apathy and lethargy sets in, is what proves to be destructive for the social fabric of
today s world. In this stagnation, Mrs. Moore provides the impetus required for people to realize their
god given right to something better. We are told that Mrs. Moore has a college degree, is well dressed
most of the times, and has a good command on her language. She seems to be a kind of a person who
has seen the world. She has experienced life, and wants to use that experience in providing the
children with an opportunity to broaden ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At times, she asks them to question the way of things, and realize that they are not receiving enough of
the prosperity that they deserve to have. We see that as society struggles against new ideas, so did the
children. They did not readily take to Mr. Moore s indoctrination. In the text the author says that And
then she gets to the part about we all poor and live in the slums, which I don t feature. And I m ready
to speak on that , but she steps out in the street and hails two cabs just like that. We realize that Mrs.
Moore is trying to open their eyes to the world around them, when she takes them on a trip around the
expensive shopping complexes of the city. As Mrs. Moore takes them through these areas, we get the
distinct impression that Sylvia gets angry. She discovers a fiber glass boat that is worth a thousand
dollars. Sugar touches the boat, at which she gets jealous. She does not realize at first the reason for
her anger, and almost directs it at her cousin, Sugar. Yet she stops herself and realizes that she is not
angry with Sugar, rather that something else is wrong. We see the first signs of comprehension in the
group. Things change as the laid back nature of the girls is shattered when Sugar comes up with an
important observation. She says that I don t think all of us here put together eat in a year what that
sailboat costs. Sugar realizes

Pontiac Grand Am Model
The Pontiac Grand Am was originally a midsize model, introduced in the 1970s. Briefly discontinued,
Pontiac resurrected the Grand Am name in 1985 as a compact vehicle and continued building this
model until 2005. Offered in coupe and sedan configurations, the Grand Am was replaced by the G6.
Pontiac Grand Am 1985 to 2005
The first two generation Grand Ams were built in the 1970s and were rear wheel drive. Beginning in
1985, the third generation Grand Am was released and stayed in production through 1991. This now
front wheel drive model offered room for five and was related to the Buick Skylark and Oldsmobile

Social Work s Role
In today s society social work plays an extremely important role. With the misfortunes of many, social
workers are there to lend a helping hand and to improve the quality of life to those who happen to be
at a disadvantage and whom are less fortunate. It is the social workers hard work, dedication,
compassion, good heartedness, and strive that allow men, women, children, and families to overcome
obstacles and difficulties all while continuing to make the most out of any given situation and improve
their quality of life.
A social worker is any of various professional activities or methods concretely concerned with
providing social services, especially with the investigation, treatment, and material aid of the
economically, physically, mentally, or socially disadvantaged ( Social work, 2014). In other words, a
social worker values principles and techniques to helping people obtain services, counseling, and
psychotherapy with not only individuals, but with families, and groups to help better themselves. (
Social Work , 2014) Social workers also require the knowledge of human development/behavior,
social and economic, and cultural institutions ( Code of ethics, 2008).
When entering a career in social work, just like any other profession there come responsibilities. The
job of a social worker is often a challenging one ( Job duties and, 2014). A social worker s primary
responsibility is to enhance the well being and help meet the basic human needs of all people

Standing On The Rooftop Of A Building
Standing on the rooftop of a building in a city can give you the feeling that you can view the whole
world from where you stand. Worldviews differ for every individual, shaped by their values, biases,
prejudices, loves, commitments, and fears as mine is. Developed through experience worldviews shift,
as I expect mine will many times. A large component of your worldviews are the values you hold,
something that event affect other things that shape your worldview. Over the past 8 ½ months my
world view has changed similarly to our Earth s rotation, we do not feel it but we know it is happening
and given time we can see of the stages that occurred. A value is a person s judgement on what is
important in life and is what priorities are within ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I feel this is the case for many people and is a human condition that can be suppressed if a person
realizes the bias has developed into a negative prejudice. Prejudices are rooted in a person s sense of
justice, which is most likely why I have a prejudice against negative and unkind people. Because I
have such a strong value of kindness I have developed a slight prejudice towards those who do not
share this value though I try my best to not act upon this prejudice. The contrasting aspect of the
prejudices contained in my worldview are my loves. What a person loves is such a broad subject it can
mean anything from a person to a meal to a color. Some of my loves include my family, friends, food,
my cat, myself, and hope that can be found when you least expect it. Each one of these things are large
parts of my life that have influenced my life in a positive way and this positive influence is most likely
why I have come to love them so much. Of course I love other things like books I have read like:
Harry Potter, Les Miserables, and Stephen Hawking s Brief History. Or shows I watch like:
Supernatural, Sherlock, Criminal Minds, and Merlin.
Or even my sweatpants, the color blue, and my soccer cleats.
But all of these things have a lesser impact on my life even though I love them. In this way a person s
loves shape their core values and yet are also shaped by those values. Based on your love you can

How Did The Polynesians Develop Their Culture
Polynesian societies and cultures have developed by living in a place hard to survive for centuries.
Throughout these years the Polynesians have developed into a group of people with a strong sense of
community. Many things have shaped the way the Polynesians developed. The country of origin for
the Polynesians heavily influenced their own traditions and culture. When the Polynesians first settled
in Polynesia their traditions most likely would have been the same as those of their country of origin.
Eventually these customs evolved into different rituals, unique to the Polynesians. Some traditions in
Polynesia include the art of tattooing and tracking their genealogies. When the Europeans first came to
Polynesia, they too influenced the way Polynesia developed. The Polynesians culture and traditions
were discouraged and it was many years before the Polynesians could safely go back to their old way
of living. Due to these influences, Polynesia became the tribal community that it is today.

1985. The Europeans also killed thousands of Polynesians; some died by the diseases that were
brought over from Europe and others died from when the Europeans enforced nuclear testing on their
islands. The Polynesians were not evacuated during the nuclear tests and many suffered from radiation
exposure. European settlement greatly hindered the progress of Polynesian society. Cultural
advancement only started again once the Europeans allowed the Polynesians to follow their own
beliefs and way of

The Kite Runner And Lord Of The Flies Literary Analysis
Loss of innocence in Amir and Ralph What would it be like if your best friend/acquaintance did not
stand up for you when you were in trouble? This question is great for how the two protagonists Amir
and Ralph lose their innocence after their closest relationship dies. The Kite Runner by Khaled
Hosseini and Lord of The Flies by William Golding can be associated with one another in many ways.
The first way that they are similar is the loss of innocence that is evident in each novel. Both Amir and
Ralph experience a loss of innocence because of events that take place throughout the novel. This loss
of innocence change Amir and Ralph in positive and negative ways. Some ways the two novels can be
compared with regards to loss of innocence is firstly, how a death of a friend affects them, secondly,
how Ralph and Amir deal with it and finally how they mature after their friends deaths. Regarding loss
of innocence, a friend s death affected Amir and Ralph in similar ways, such as how they matured
from it. An example is evident in The Kite Runner Why are you here? , For the boy , when Amir
decides he wants to adopt Sohrab (Hosseini 267). It is evident in Lord of the Flies, the tears began to
flow and Ralph was sobbing , when Golding tries to depict Ralph growing into a man as he matures
through the book and after Piggy s death, acknowledging Piggy s intellect (Golding 202). Another
way, a way they affected each other similarly is when Amir and Ralph feel remorse and grief to their
dead friends. They both act like this in the book because they know they could have prevented it. In
contrast, regarding the loss of innocence, a friend s death affected Amir and Ralph in different ways.
One way they affected Amir is that he felt guilty and Ralph did not feel as guilty. This is evident
because Amir lost his innocence after watching Hassan get raped when he clearly could have
prevented it, I watched his face, but I didn t do anything. (Hosseini 76). Another way Amir is different
from Ralph is that Amir seeks redemption and Ralph seeks salvation, an example of Ralph s disparity
is when the savages are about to kill him and Ralph is frightened

Imagination vs Reality When it comes to imagination versus reality, the processes in the brain are
different. But just how different are they? Our mind can run away with us, leading us to act through
suspicion or fear, but we can also use our imagination as a tool to change our life. Humans have
tended to draw a line between reality that which we actually experience and imagination, seen as a
frivolous, dreamlike deflection. For ages, spiritual contemplatives and artists have taken flights of
imagination much more seriously and challenged the firmness of that line. It is just like how
imagination plays a very real role in our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Connecting that to Blackmore s idea, we can see that this fundamentalist way of thinking can act as a
way of speaking. By means of that, fundamentalists believe that their claims and ideas are in fact pure
knowledge. This is the concern of fundamentalists of all kinds: religious, atheistical, scientific,
technological, economic, and political. They all seek power they seek victory (Berry 22). In this, Berry
is describing how all fundamentalists are able to seek power and control and reach out to more people
with their beliefs. This could be the reason why fundamentalist speak with a strict close minded way.
People of religion, and not just fundamentalists, can speak with tiresome confidence of knowing what
in fact they don t know but believe (Berry 22). Nonetheless, under direct relation to how memes are
described as a unit of imitation (Blackmore 35), it is evident that fundamentalism gain their powerful
hold on the human race through capitalism. Capitalism has used memes to make itself into something
that mirrors a religion. Our place of worship has been transfigured from a church, temple, or
synagogue to the workplace. In Blackmore s text, she talks about how Dawkins wrote that memes can
be a part of creating religion: He wrote about religions as groups of memes with a high survival value,
infecting whole societies with belief in a God or an afterlife (36). The memes want

Android Vs Apple Vs Android
One well known ongoing controversy is Apple versus Android. Many buyers want to know which
phone will be more dependable in long run, so they will not have to purchase another one anytime
soon. People have become biased toward which device they believe performs better and will not try
and use any other programmed device. There are also those who like to experiment and try a new
something new, and love and switch or hate and remain loyal to their original buy. People are
subjective to their own decisions there is no hard proof that one is more significantly greater than the
other. Important aspects are taken into consideration when purchasing a phone such as: hardware,
software, and the basics. The way these devices perform paves how they will appeal to potential
buyers. Durability is important, because nobody wants a phone that will crack with the slightest drop.
However, people are tending to lie less on this factor because of lifeproof, waterproof, shockproof,
shatterproof, etc. cases that were developed. Battery life is a key factory in anything technological
because people want a reliable phone that they know will hold out. Both parties allow users to view
their battery life and even put it on low power mode. However, Android released a gadget that allows
phones to charge faster and wirelessly, feeling defeated Apple decided to launch the same thing. The
only downside to this is that with IOS it has to be purchased separately just like the air pod earphones,

Anger In Speak
Laurie Halse Anderosn has written a book which is considered as a trauma novel speak . Usually
anger is a phase that begins with madness and ends with regret, but in this book anger will be tackled
in different way, Melinda s anger starts with silence and ends with speaking. In other words it s starts
with fear and ends with triumph over self. Over the course of the novel silence struggling with anger is
leading to speak. Anderson incorporated all themes in anger direction with different techniques such
as flashback, allusion, symbolism, and fragmentation.
The story started in an ambiguous atmosphere ,as readers don t know what happened to Melinda she
refused to speak she only wants to live in her isolation. some people in their depression tries to speak,
and others chooses to keep themselves silent and get stressed when they are given a heavy workload,
like why me ? ,as they are too weak or shame to face the world around them ,and this exactly what
happened to Melinda in this novel .People experiencing passive anger may not even realize they are
angry, because passive angry maybe repressed, it can be hard to recognize. In this long term, these
suppressed angry feelings can easily be a main reasson for psychological suffering. As readers can
only notice that she carried a folded story that will be displayed through flashback ... Show more

She describes her lips using very ugly words. These descriptions of Melinda s lips and mouth in the
novel clarify Melinda s inability to speak after the rape. Throughout the chapters of the story Melinda

of beauty. The ugliness of her mouth represents the ugliness and shame she feels inside her mind as
well as her inability to take care of herself. Later, as Melinda begins to heal and learns to speak about

Physiology Individual body functions with the nervous system. The nervous system is divided into
two parts, central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system
consists of brain and spinal cord whiles the peripheral nervous system consists of the nerves, such as
cranial nerves. Cranial nerves job is to connect the central nervous system to the different types of
organ in the body. Our neurons consist of cell body which holds the genetic information needed to
make protein. Dendrites receive impulses from other cells at the synapses and transmitted them to the
cell body. Axon carries outgoing information to its target cell. Neuron has only one axon that includes
Axon Hillock. Axon Hillock is the originate place for action potential; Axon collaterals are the
branches of axon; Axon terminals which are the sites of neurotransmitter release. The body neuron
usually generates an electrical signal and this result in the release of neurotransmitter. The
neurotransmitter purpose is to serve as a chemical messenger that enables cell communication among
other cells. Myelin sheath is insulation that wraps around the each axon for about 20 to 200 times.
Their segments are significantly separated from each other by node of Ranvier, and the Myelin sheath
function to increase the conduction velocity of action potentials. Myelin can be produce in either the

Ignorance Does Not Permit Judgment Essay
Ignorance is the act of being unaware. This is evident in Harper Lee s novel, To Kill a Mockingbird,
and also in the two articles, The Lynching of Emmett Till, by Chris Crowe, and Man Guilty of Murder
in Texas Dragging Death , by Rick Lyman. In To Kill a Mockingbird, there are many examples of
ignorance, such as Scout s ignorance, or the racist tendencies of Maycomb County residents. In the
Emmett Till article, there is evidence of ignorance in the way Till doesn t understand the southern way
of life , and the overall acquittal of his murder. In the Texas Dragging news report, the racist ways of
the murderer, John King, are considered a form of ignorance. Ignorance leads to to the unjust
judgment of others.

Her own decisions cause her ignorance towards others. The most aggervating display of ignorance is
at the end of the Tom Robinson trial. Throughout the trial there has been such compelling evidence
that proves Mr. Robinson not guilty. Such as the fact that Mayella Ewell s face was more bruised on
the right side of her face, proving a left handed attacker, but Tom Robinson s left hand was crippled
when he was younger. But despite this evidence, Scout narrates, A jury never looks at a defendant it
had convicted, and when this jury came in, not one of them looked at Tom Robinson (Lee 211). The
jury proves to be ignorant of all evidence that proves Tom Robinson guilty, and purely bases his
verdict on the sole fact of his skin color. The jury is ignorant to racial equality, and places unjust
judgement on Tom Robinson, that ultimately cost him his life. The ignorance of Scout, Mayella Ewell,
and the jury was either the unjust judgement of others, or a blatant disregard for basic knowledge.
In The Lynching of Emmett Till , by Chris Crowe, an African American teenage boy, Emmett Till,
visits his family in rural Mississippi, from his urban life in Chicago. There, with a group of friends, he
is challenged to hit on a local white store clerk. But as Crowe writes, The boy s challenge stunned the
southern kids, because they knew the dangers of a black male talking to a white woman (Crowe, w).

Fear Of Manipulating A Spinal Injury
Focusing my attention back on the PL, I moved to check the one place unseen and began removing his
helmet. His head was protected, but tilting his chin back was one thing I didn t want to do for fear of
manipulating a spinal injury. It also is what finally exposed and opened the small hole in his throat
from an apparent piece of shrapnel and he began to bleed profusely. I immediately called the medic
away from one of the less seriously wounded to help me with the bleeding. I packed the wound but
loosely, not wanting to interfere with what was left of his airway and then pulled him up to my lap so I
could maintain pressure on the wound. He was still dying. Running out of options, I checked his

twelve that needed evacuation and eight more walking wounded. There were barely enough lucid
Soldiers to pull security, but my biggest problem was that the QRF had not arrived yet. Searching for
an improvised solution for the PL who I believed was expectant at this point, I saw an Afghan
National Army truck parked nearby with a driver who seemed as though he was trying to help. I
directed that the PL be loaded onto the back of the pickup truck with two ambulatory Soldiers who

interpreter conveyed my directions to the driver to take the Soldiers straight to our Entry Control Point

not follow directions. Our Platoon Leader was now conscious and responsive, and I told him where he

Barbara Ehrenreich s Nickel And Dimed
Several things can influence how a person performs: gender, race, and even class. In a sense, class
could be considered the easiest thing to perform, and can also change the quickest. Nothing needs to
be drastically, physically changed in order to perform a different class than the one a person is a part
of. However, performing up or down in class takes a lot of effort. When someone performs up in class,
they were persecuted and looked down upon compared to someone who performs down. By using the

Barbara struggled to keep up the effort and survive in a lower class than she was accustomed to. Even
so, her co workers and the people she met along the way did not realize she was performing down in
her class. Maybe this was because the people she surrounded herself with were also in similar class
situations where the fight to survive was more difficult, not allowing much space in thoughts for other
people s life stories. In Six Degrees of Separation, Paul performed up in class in search of friendship

Writing Assignment 2
BIOL 510

Tendons are one of the most important tissues in the body of any organism, transferring the power
created by the muscles to the bones and allowing coordinated body movements to occur. However,
until recently there was very little known about the origin of this tissue and most of the research
performed focused on the limbs and the tendons associated with them. Along with the limited amount
of research it seemed that not of them were focused on the axial and ventrolateral body wall tendons.
It was not until later that the discovery of Scleraxis, Scx, which is a bHLH transcription factor found

In situ hybridization was used to visualize Scx expression and QCPN to identify quail cells. The two
layers of sclerotome transplanted from quail to chick indicated that quail cells produced Scx tendon
progenitors and sclerotome. It also produced a complete set of tendon progenitors between the
myotome layers, indicating they arose from both chick and quail cells. While transplanted quail and
host chick sclerotome indicated that the Scx expressing cells were entirely produced by quail cells.
This observation suggested that Scx expressing cells between two layers of myotome form from the
anterior and posterior edges to two adjacent somites. On the other hand, two adjacent dermomyotome
layers did not produce any Scx expressing tendon progenitors but, it did produce myotome and
dermotome. This observation lead to the conclusion that the dermomyotome produces myotome and
the sclerotome produces the syndetome. These results raised the question: why is Scx expression only
being observed on the anterior and posterior boundaries of the somite closest to the myotome and if a
signal from the myotome was responsible for the observed

Biography of Hieronymus Bosch
Hieronymus Bosch was born at the beginning of the Renaissance just after the end of the Dark Ages.
Bosch was born in the netherlandish city of Hertogenbosch. Hertogenbosch is where Bosch got his
last name. Bosch lived, grew up and died in Hertogenbosch. He never left the city, it is surprising that
his artwork became famous. Bosch came from a family of painters. His father, uncle, and grandfather
were all painters, unfortunately none of their works survived.
Bosch joined the Brotherhood of Our Lady, a local religious organization devoted to the Virgin Mary,
around 1486. Some of his first commissions came through the Brotherhood ,but unfortunately, none of
those works survived. He then married Alety Goyaerts den Meervenne. Her family was wealthy so this
union improved Bosch s social status.
Bosch s most famous painting is the Garden of Earthly Delight. It has amazing imagery and
exaggerations and also contained many vivid scenes. Few painters packed more detail into their work
than Hieronymus Bosch. The wings of Bosch s triptych open to reveal a color filled interior bursting
with strange architecture, unnatural landforms, and all types of hybrid creatures. In the main part of
the left hand panel, God the Father stands between the naked figures of Adam and Eve, surrounded by
various flora and fauna. This is the Garden of Eden, though the scene has a dark side. In the distance,
an animal tears at the flesh of his prey. Another one of Bosch s famous paintings was the Last

There is no culture in which people do not, or did not paint, pierce, tattoo, reshape, or simply adorn
their bodies (Schildkrout, 2001). Throughout history, body art and ornamentation has become a
worldwide phenomenon and has played a key role in our lives, yet there is a social stigma which we
cannot seem to rid ourselves of. It is most commonly misunderstood and misinterpreted which can be
attributed to the fact that the symbolism and significance of the body art and/or ornamentation doesn t

Looking from another culture s perspective, the various forms of African body art and ornamentation
are seen as being weird, out of the ordinary, and we don t understand the importance they hold within
these African cultures. On the other hand, there are other cultures such as the Japanese, who instead of
outwardly portraying their body art and ornamentation will instead conceal it so it won t be visible at
all. The first signs of body art and ornamentation which appear in the Japanese culture were first noted
as originating all the way back to AD 297 (Rapp, 2010). Back then, tattoos would signify which
occupational group certain men belonged to and men, both young and old, would get tattoos all over
their bodies including their faces. Men would even go as far as getting full body tattoos which could
be found on laborers, firemen, and gangsters (Hopkins Tanne, 2000). The Chinese considered all
Japanese tattoos an act of barbarism and was perceived as being extremely negative. The body art and
ornamentation that exists and has existed within the Japanese culture spreads beyond just tattooing
and there are a few other methods that they used.
First, many married Japanese women or courtesan in the 10th through 19th centuries would apply a

The Pros And Cons Of Animal Welfare
Did you know that 56 billion animals are slaughtered each year? People believe that farmers are
abusing and causing stress on the animals. Farmers use confined feeding operations to maximize the
production. By having the confined feeding operations, it gives the animals no room to graze. When
they can t graze, it restricts the animal to move or to exercise ( On The Farm ). The animals are not
given any pain relief during certain practices like castration or dehorning. Animal welfare is not
needed in the farming aspect, because the animals are meant for food. In the 1970 s, animal welfarist
got together and tried to sue farmers for being cruel and harming animals. The government created the
right to farm laws. That law protected farmers rights when farming. Twelve states banned certain farm
practices because they were believed to be inhumane. Those bans include, gestation crates for sows,
veal crates for calves, and battery cages for chickens. All those states that banned the practices were
small in the ag field. The farmers are saying that they are not hurting animals, they are protecting
them. People that live in cities or that don t experience the farm work will say it is inhumane. Farmers
are trying to make changes to stop these regulations. State Farm Bureaus are trying backing up the
farmers. The regulations could ruin the agricultural business (Fifield). Farmers use the most efficient
methods which lower the prices for the consumer. The other people would say that the most efficient
way goes against the animal s welfare. When using the high welfare methods it raises the price of eggs
by 18% which is about 49 cents per dozen. Walmart and McDonalds will be using only cage free eggs
by 2025. That will increase the price of the eggs. They cages and crates are said to be safe and sanitary
ways for egg production. Makes the price of food increase because the farmer can t have as many
animals because it requires too much space to be humane (Fifield). Gestation crates are the safest way
for a sow to give birth. Gestation crates are inhumane for the sows. They can only stand or lie down.
And they are in the crate for up to 4 months without walking. Going 4 months without walking will

sections. These include: certain knowledge of truisms, the distinction between mental facts and
physical facts, the existence of God, God creating all material things and the afterlife, how common
sense propositions are to be analyzed concerning sense data, and how philosophers are confused about

the other philosophers might answer with more questions. They may ask questions like, what do you

There were two copyright plagiarizing cases against this particular song. Two by Christopher Selletti

mailing himself a copy of his own lyrics. Selletti came across Carey s version of Hero on the radio
three years later and realized the lyrics were similar to his. Carey provided proof to prove her

Gender Roles In The Chase By Annie Dillard
How much do gender roles mean to you? In the story, The Chase by Annie Dillard, a young girl,
Annie, grows up in a town where being a girl didn t affect how she grew up. When Annie was a child
she played football, baseball and threw snowballs with the boys. So as you can see being a girl in
Annie s neighborhood didn t affect her, but as everyone grows up, we all realize that gender roles
really do matter. We all probably grew up with boys and girls, but all places were different. One might
have grown up in a town where you weren t allowed to do certain things because you were a girl.
Otherwise, someone might have grown up in a town where nobody really cares about whether you
were a boy or a girl. Either way, throughout my childhood, rules and roles were all based on whether
you were a boy or a girl, and as I moved on through my life, I realized that those gender roles mean a
lot more as we grow older.
Annie Dillard grew up in a neighborhood, I would assume much like mine. Being a girl didn t matter,
having long hair and wearing dresses didn t matter to her, but one might have grown up in different

I appear to be prepared most of the time, but I know myself better than anyone else. I know that so far,
what makes me survive law school is anchored in luck. As they say, it is better to be lucky than good.
But I feel sooner or later, it will run out. The study of law, I did not ... Show more content on

There is a portion of me that wants to explain to everybody the beauty of the industry they wrongfully
construe. However, that would be impossible. Even the law does not require the impossible. Still, I
feel that by learning more about it, I can use what knowledge I will acquire to spread it even with just
a handful of individuals, with the hope that one of them will share the same interest, will study further,
and do the same. The method is slow, unassuming and does not guarantee success, yet there is a
possibility and probability. And that is enough. Consequently, to study law is to invest not just money,
time or effort. To study the law, you need to offer a part of yourself. Whether or not you will love each
other back, or find another that will love you even more, the industry will already be part of your
history. The feeling of being called every recitation, the little prayers being muttered every shuffling of
the cards, those tears and sweats, and smiles, are all part of the memory be it distant or fond.
There s no assurance what will happen tomorrow. My uncertainties might overpower my reasons to
pursue law, but still, I will not regret the day I entertained the crazy idea of doing of

Wetback Domination Analysis
Wetback Domination Many immigrants coming to the United States are criticized by their appearance.
People often like to call out how they are not from here calling them wetbacks and telling them to go
back to where they came from. Here the author is defending the rights of immigrants and people who
where born in the United States and are of Mexican decent. The perspective of wetbacks is their skin
and there appearance how they look makes them Mexican. What i mean by appearance is that you can
tell who is from here and who is not by the way they dress and use there hair. The perception of
wetbacks is there color BROWN its how its seen. If you look Mexican you must be Mexican. For
example like people of African decent are considered BLACK and it could mean their badge, it could
represent a person, and it could represent a condition. Speaking a certain language makes them a
certain race. Just because a person speaks Spanish doesn t determine whether they are Mexican or not.
If they dont speak english they are automatically considered wetbacks. I agree with the author when
he states that the way a person looks makes them a target of discrimination. Mexican Americans are
stigmatized because of their complexion they are slightly darker than other races. Society stereotypes
Mexican Americans just because they are not like others they are seen as different in so many ways.
Like their color, there economic standing, and the way they are portrayed. For example most of the

A Research Study On Stem Cell Therapy
Introduction
Stem cells are homogeneous cells found in the human body which have potential to change into, or
differentiate into a range of specific types of cells (Stoppler, 1996). The refurbishment and protection
of many adult tissues are safeguarded by stem cells (SCs) which exist in the top of the cellular sorting
section of these tissues (Beck, 2013). Practical assessments, such as transplantation, in vitro
clonogenic assesses (technique used to study efficacy of exact agents in terms of the proliferation and
endurance of cells) and in vivo lineage tracing, have been undertaken to evaluate the repairing and
differentiation capability of normal SCs (Beck, 2013). Currently, research is on going to resolve
whether stem cell therapy is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Minimal research findings and reports have been written on the role of side population (SP) cells in
human nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). This literature review will evaluate the 2007 research article
on, Identification of Cancer Stem Cell Like Side Population Cells in Human Nasopharyngeal
Carcinoma Cell Line, by Wang, Guo, Chen, Zeng and Lu, and determine whether SP cells in human
NPC are viable as an aid in efficient drugs and therapeutic strategies which target NPC Cancer stem
cells (CSC) (Wang, Guo, Chen, Zeng, Lu, 2007).
Review of Underpinning Science
Cancer stem cells (CSCs) give rise to the movement of cancer from one section of the body to another,
and are located in several tumour varieties. The unique properties of stem cells which make them
different from normal cells are; their unspecialised nature, capability to give rise to specialised cell
types and ability to divide and renew themselves (Bethesda, 2015). These stem cell properties can be
used to classify CSCs, and therefore can enable them to treat NPC. A major result of this manipulation
process is the ability the cell can have to extrude dyes such as Hoechst 33342 through the ATP binding
cassette (which encloses membrane proteins that transfer an extensive array of substrates) (Dean,
2002)(Wu, C., Alman, B. A., 2008). Importantly, SP cells are a source of research as they contain these
stem cell characteristics and are therefore able to exclude the Hoechst 33342 dye. This

Geography Did you know that Vermont used to have historical indian tribes? Including, Mahicans and
Abenaki tribes. In the Abenaki tribe they settled in Vermont, until they got kicked out of the state in
the 1600 s. Also, the Mahicans hunted in the Southwestern and Western part of Vermont making
temporary settlements and living off of the food they hunted and the skin they perished of of the
animals that were hunted. Both of these very interesting tribes used every single part of the animals
that they would hunt. The fur was used as coats, the meat for food, the dung for energy, and so many
more. If you ever go to Vermont you will notice some of their amazing physical features. For example,

Macroeconomics In Cuba
Introduction
The purpose of this paper is to briefly evaluate the existing economic affairs of Cuba and how they
relate to the principles of macroeconomics. According to (Arnold, 2011) Macroeconomics involves
human activities and how they choose to perform in a very aggregate market as a whole
(Macroeconomics, 2011, p.18). An appraisal of Cuban s unemployment rate, government policies,
inflation, and national output in addition to other plausible variances will minutely expose some of the
many problems facing their economy. Cuba is just one of many islands amid the thousands all through
the well known Caribbean region and is the largest island in the Caribbean covering over 44,927
square miles. The current economic situation in Cuba stems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

That effort was short lived; only a little over 100,000 thousand was affected. This was not a natural
change in the sense of frictional unemployment but the government policies may be a result of
changes that they deem necessary due to market conditions.
With a current labor force of 5.2 million, the Cuban citizen s degree of economic distress would
perhaps be greater if not for the sense of preservation by Fidel Castro back in 1989 when the Soviet
Union collapsed. This event sends the Cuban economy in what was labeled the Special Period . Fidel s
communist government permitted some self employment, particularly in the transportation division
but even so, self employment and entrepreneurship was rare. According to Indexmundi.com, (2014)
the Cuban labor force as of 2013 comprise of 72.3% state sector and 27.7% non state sector

Current State of the Union; Analysis of a Political...
When describing the current state of the USA, very little positive language would be used. The more
standard response would be one including an overall negative, and debt describing language. As seen
in Barrack Obama s 2014 State of the Union Address, the president of our nation seemed to
completely disregard the actual state of the union by simply stating that, The state of the union is
sound . This short, vague, and contradicting statement seemed to be blow up the anemic progressions
our nation has made during Obamas presidency. It is safe to say that the description of a sound nation
did not make a connection with many Americans. It left people with more of a sense of confusion to
what the actual situation stands to be. That situation, the current state of our union, would more
appropriately be described as upsetting. Especially when being described by the current president of
over five years who promised to better our nation. Gary McCoy s drawing depicts the not so serious
response to Barack Obama s humorous statement to the current state of the union, and poses the
argument that his remarks no longer send a sense of promise and hope, but more of something to just
roll your eyes at. In the cartoon, President Barack Obama is presented in a stereotypical and degrading
way. He is drawn to have a very prominent round nose, and much emphasis is placed on his very large
ears . With this, he is also depicted with a tiny head, potentially hinting at a small brain. In

Hydrogen As An Alternative Source Of Energy
Khaled AlGhunaim NASC 130 Professor Gartner November 16, 2015 Hydrogen As An Alternative
Source Of Energy The contemporary industrial sector has been built on the capacity created by energy.
The bulk of human activities from survival to economy rely on the use of energy. Indeed, widespread
access to energy has a significant influence on the level of achievement a particular jurisdiction
achieves (Johnstone, Mayo and Khare 572). Access to energy sources determines the quality and
course of life undertaken by the residents of a specific region. Numerous factors interact to determine
the supply of energy. Among them include the cost, quantities available and the extent of availability.
The fact that fossil fuel is the primary source of energy means that distribution is uneven. It should be
noted that oil, coal, and natural gas account for three quarters of the global energy consumption.
Indeed, it is estimated that traditional forms of energy such as wood and animal dung form the
primary source of energy for close to two billion people across the globe. The realities raised by the
use of fossil fuels create an incentive to explore alternative forms of energy sources. The use of
hydrogen as an alternative source of energy provides several new advantages to the world in terms of
abundance, pollution, and its future importance to the business world along with everyday use to the
people. The abundant nature of Hydrogen s existence and simplicity in structure make the compound

  • 2. Education And Poverty In Education How does poverty affect educational opportunities? The impacts of poverty on children are wide reaching and can prompt long term life struggles, particularly when young people don t receive a good education. Poverty and education are inseparably connected, on the grounds that people living in poverty may quit school, so they can work instead, which leaves them with a lack of literacy and numeracy skills, which then causes them to not be able to advance in their careers. Their children, thusly are brought up in a comparable circumstance years later, with little income and few options, but to leave school and work. For the students living in poverty that do choose to stay in school have to deal with the poor education offered near their home. Most high poverty, high minority schools will receive significantly less state and local money than more wealthy schools, and students in such schools will probably be taught by teachers who are unpracticed or teaching outside their specialties. Studies have also been done about how physical and social emotional factors of living in poverty can affect students cognitive performance in a detrimental way. There s a lot of reason that students decided to drop out of school: little support from parents, lack of motivation, poor academic performance. However, for low income students, the decision to quit school is more economic. These students need to work to support their families. Urban Institute, using data from 2008 2012 American ... In the play Julius Caesar, by William Shakespeare, there are two instances of speeches that persuade, convert, and compel the audiences. Both of the speakers had beliefs that were polar opposites, and both speeches brought forth many emotions and convictions that drove the crowd to nearly killing others. The first of the speeches, given by Brutus, was intended to compel the audience to believe that killing Julius Caesar was a good thing for Rome. This drove the crowd crazy, and they were all on the same boat as him, until Mark Antony comes along. Antony talks to the crowd and controls them in such a way, that almost immediately, the crowd is convinced by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (3.2.92 93) And another one, I thrice presented him a kingly crown, Which he did thrice refuse. Was this ambition? Yet Brutus says he was ambitious... (3.2.97 99) Antony is discrediting Brutus, and starting an uprising against him. Not surprisingly, there is one last straw that Antony presented to the crowd, Caesar s own will. Antony first tells the crowd how he found it in a closet, I found it in his closet; tis his will. (3.2.130) And as the plebeians holler at Antony demanding him to read the will, he adamantly refuses to read the will multiple times, thus creating a large force of momentum. Soon after, Antony starts rattling off tales and regrets about Caesar, that eventually the Plebeians are roused up into a bloodlust and are ready to murder all of the conspirators. • 4. Character Analysis Of Esperanza Rising In the book Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan, Esperanza is the main character who is the protagonist. Esperanza is a thirteen year old child that has been faced with more tragic events from the age of nine to thirteen than some may experience their whole life time. Her character is very smart, determined, and compassionate just like some of the kids you may know. The author does a great job with allowing the reader to get inside Esperanza s head to understand her thinking and logic. The author uses Esperanza life to encourage children who may be going through some of the same experience, that they could make it through to. Although Esperanza is just a normal kid trying to have fun, the constant tragic events in her life forces her to mature instantly becoming a strong young adult. This paper will discuss how Esperanza grew up and some of Esperanza reactions that shows her growth in maturity, while exploring some of the conflicts Esperanza experienced that causes her to change her thinking. First, the book starts off telling the story of how Esperanza grew up in a loving wealthy family who owned El Rancho de las Rosas in Aguascalientes, Mexico. She was surrounded by generations of family members who loved her. The family had lots of servants who worked for them during the grape harvest season and they also helped them with everything else during the off season. Esperanza was a young girl who really didn t understand poverty and was known to have a snobbish attitude at times when she was little because of her family s wealth. She was surrounded by families that were just as wealthy as her own so poverty was not a norm in their community. There are many examples of her snobby ways in the beginning of book like when she first boarded a train in Mexico and realizes that she and her friend definitely wouldn t be traveling first class. Her reaction to this was basically like: You expect me to travel coach?! Yeah right. It was evident Esperanza did not use to a present lifestyle. Esperanza father was her biggest mentor and she followed his teachings very closely. After the death of her father, it was people like Abuelita, Mama, and Miguel that help keep Esperanza diva tude in check which helped keep her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Factors That Influence The Development Of Cerebral Palsy Purpose The purpose of this article is to explore and gain an understanding of the factors that influence the development of cerebral palsy in infants born prematurely and at term. Description This article explores a number of factors that have been identified as well as what still needs to be done in regards to establishing the etiology of cerebral palsy (CP). The author notes that there is still little research (as of 2008) in regards of the environmental influence on the development of CP. The research for CP in obstetrics has been led by Eastman and DeLeon since the mid 1950s. Their study had 5 major findings that have been the basis for more current research. Their findings were that although prematurity is a risk factor, the majority of CP develops in infants were born at term. Secondly, placental abruption and cord prolapse, while dangerous to the fetus and uncommon, do not contribute a major share to CP. Thirdly, while in the delivery room, half of the term infants that were deemed in good health then later developed CP. Fourth, congenital anomalies can be attributed as a cause of CP. Lastly, mothers who were febrile during labor increased the chances of their children developing CP. The author goes onto to talk about how we (as doctors and researchers) know what we know about CP. Nelson cites the development of neuroimaging technologies, helping with the discovery of brain malformations as a contributing cause of CP. The author then delves into the causative ... The nature of human beings of accepting the realities of life to such an extent that apathy and lethargy sets in, is what proves to be destructive for the social fabric of today s world. In this stagnation, Mrs. Moore provides the impetus required for people to realize their god given right to something better. We are told that Mrs. Moore has a college degree, is well dressed most of the times, and has a good command on her language. She seems to be a kind of a person who has seen the world. Sugar touches the boat, at which she gets jealous. She does not realize at first the reason for her anger, and almost directs it at her cousin, Sugar. Yet she stops herself and realizes that she is not angry with Sugar, rather that something else is wrong. We see the first signs of comprehension in the group. • 16. The Kite Runner And Lord Of The Flies Literary Analysis Loss of innocence in Amir and Ralph What would it be like if your best friend/acquaintance did not stand up for you when you were in trouble? This question is great for how the two protagonists Amir and Ralph lose their innocence after their closest relationship dies. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini and Lord of The Flies by William Golding can be associated with one another in many ways. The first way that they are similar is the loss of innocence that is evident in each novel. Both Amir and Ralph experience a loss of innocence because of events that take place throughout the novel. This loss of innocence change Amir and Ralph in positive and negative ways. Some ways the two novels can be compared with regards to loss of innocence is firstly, how a death of a friend affects them, secondly, how Ralph and Amir deal with it and finally how they mature after their friends deaths. Regarding loss of innocence, a friend s death affected Amir and Ralph in similar ways, such as how they matured from it. An example is evident in The Kite Runner Why are you here? , For the boy , when Amir decides he wants to adopt Sohrab (Hosseini 267). It is evident in Lord of the Flies, the tears began to flow and Ralph was sobbing , when Golding tries to depict Ralph growing into a man as he matures through the book and after Piggy s death, acknowledging Piggy s intellect (Golding 202). Another way, a way they affected each other similarly is when Amir and Ralph feel remorse and grief to their dead friends. They both act like this in the book because they know they could have prevented it. In contrast, regarding the loss of innocence, a friend s death affected Amir and Ralph in different ways. One way they affected Amir is that he felt guilty and Ralph did not feel as guilty. This is evident because Amir lost his innocence after watching Hassan get raped when he clearly could have prevented it, I watched his face, but I didn t do anything. (Hosseini 76). Another way Amir is different from Ralph is that Amir seeks redemption and Ralph seeks salvation, an example of Ralph s disparity is when the savages are about to kill him and Ralph is frightened ... In a sense, class could be considered the easiest thing to perform, and can also change the quickest. Nothing needs to be drastically, physically changed in order to perform a different class than the one a person is a part of. However, performing up or down in class takes a lot of effort. When someone performs up in class, they were persecuted and looked down upon compared to someone who performs down. By using the excerpt Serving in Florida from Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich and the play, Six Degrees of Separation, by John Guare, we see how performing different classes than the one each person is a part affect themselves and those around them In Barbara Ehrenreich s Nickel and Dimed, Barbara went undercover to perform and learn about a class that was not her own. Even so, her co workers and the people she met along the way did not realize she was performing down in her class. Maybe this was because the people she surrounded herself with were also in similar class situations where the fight to survive was more difficult, not allowing much space in thoughts for other people s life stories. Body Wall Tendons Research Mark Jones Writing Assignment 2 BIOL 510 4/11/2017 Tendons are one of the most important tissues in the body of any organism, transferring the power created by the muscles to the bones and allowing coordinated body movements to occur. However, until recently there was very little known about the origin of this tissue and most of the research performed focused on the limbs and the tendons associated with them. Along with the limited amount of research it seemed that not of them were focused on the axial and ventrolateral body wall tendons. The two layers of sclerotome transplanted from quail to chick indicated that quail cells produced Scx tendon progenitors and sclerotome. While transplanted quail and host chick sclerotome indicated that the Scx expressing cells were entirely produced by quail cells. This observation suggested that Scx expressing cells between two layers of myotome form from the anterior and posterior edges to two adjacent somites. On the other hand, two adjacent dermomyotome layers did not produce any Scx expressing tendon progenitors but, it did produce myotome and dermotome. This observation lead to the conclusion that the dermomyotome produces myotome and the sclerotome produces the syndetome. These results raised the question: why is Scx expression only being observed on the anterior and posterior boundaries of the somite closest to the myotome and if a signal from the myotome was responsible for the observed ... Hertogenbosch is where Bosch got his last name. Bosch lived, grew up and died in Hertogenbosch. He never left the city, it is surprising that his artwork became famous. Bosch came from a family of painters. His father, uncle, and grandfather were all painters, unfortunately none of their works survived. Bosch joined the Brotherhood of Our Lady, a local religious organization devoted to the Virgin Mary, around 1486. Some of his first commissions came through the Brotherhood ,but unfortunately, none of those works survived. He then married Alety Goyaerts den Meervenne. Her family was wealthy so this union improved Bosch s social status. Bosch s most famous painting is the Garden of Earthly Delight. It has amazing imagery and exaggerations and also contained many vivid scenes. Few painters packed more detail into their work than Hieronymus Bosch. Throughout history, body art and ornamentation has become a worldwide phenomenon and has played a key role in our lives, yet there is a social stigma which we cannot seem to rid ourselves of. The first signs of body art and ornamentation which appear in the Japanese culture were first noted as originating all the way back to AD 297 (Rapp, 2010). Back then, tattoos would signify which occupational group certain men belonged to and men, both young and old, would get tattoos all over their bodies including their faces. Men would even go as far as getting full body tattoos which could be found on laborers, firemen, and gangsters (Hopkins Tanne, 2000). • 32. The Pros And Cons Of Animal Welfare Did you know that 56 billion animals are slaughtered each year? People believe that farmers are abusing and causing stress on the animals. Farmers use confined feeding operations to maximize the production. By having the confined feeding operations, it gives the animals no room to graze. When they can t graze, it restricts the animal to move or to exercise ( On The Farm ). The animals are not given any pain relief during certain practices like castration or dehorning. Animal welfare is not needed in the farming aspect, because the animals are meant for food. In the 1970 s, animal welfarist got together and tried to sue farmers for being cruel and harming animals. The government created the right to farm laws. That law protected farmers rights when farming. Twelve states banned certain farm practices because they were believed to be inhumane. Those bans include, gestation crates for sows, veal crates for calves, and battery cages for chickens. All those states that banned the practices were small in the ag field. The farmers are saying that they are not hurting animals, they are protecting them. People that live in cities or that don t experience the farm work will say it is inhumane. Farmers are trying to make changes to stop these regulations. State Farm Bureaus are trying backing up the farmers. The regulations could ruin the agricultural business (Fifield). Farmers use the most efficient methods which lower the prices for the consumer. The other people would say that the most efficient way goes against the animal s welfare. When using the high welfare methods it raises the price of eggs by 18% which is about 49 cents per dozen. Walmart and McDonalds will be using only cage free eggs by 2025. That will increase the price of the eggs. They cages and crates are said to be safe and sanitary ways for egg production. Makes the price of food increase because the farmer can t have as many animals because it requires too much space to be humane (Fifield). Gestation crates are the safest way for a sow to give birth. In the story, The Chase by Annie Dillard, a young girl, Annie, grows up in a town where being a girl didn t affect how she grew up. When Annie was a child she played football, baseball and threw snowballs with the boys. So as you can see being a girl in Annie s neighborhood didn t affect her, but as everyone grows up, we all realize that gender roles really do matter. We all probably grew up with boys and girls, but all places were different. One might have grown up in a town where you weren t allowed to do certain things because you were a girl. Otherwise, someone might have grown up in a town where nobody really cares about whether you were a boy or a girl. Either way, throughout my childhood, rules and roles were all based on whether you were a boy or a girl, and as I moved on through my life, I realized that those gender roles mean a lot more as we grow older. Review of Underpinning Science Cancer stem cells (CSCs) give rise to the movement of cancer from one section of the body to another, and are located in several tumour varieties. The unique properties of stem cells which make them different from normal cells are; their unspecialised nature, capability to give rise to specialised cell types and ability to divide and renew themselves (Bethesda, 2015). The bulk of human activities from survival to economy rely on the use of energy. Indeed, widespread access to energy has a significant influence on the level of achievement a particular jurisdiction achieves (Johnstone, Mayo and Khare 572). Access to energy sources determines the quality and course of life undertaken by the residents of a specific region. Numerous factors interact to determine the supply of energy.
