Isolation And Its Effects On Its Victims
Introduction
Isolation has been portrayed in numerous texts for hundreds of years and is still a common theme in
literature today. Isolation is not only portrayed in literature but also occurs in real life situations . The
effect of isolation on its victims is that they try to overcome their state of isolation by finding a way to
obtain some sort of companionship, whether it is with an inanimate object, imagination or with an
animal. One does not require to be all alone to be isolated as there are different types of isolation, and
one that is quite common today is being socially isolated. The four texts that portray one of these
subtopics are Cast Away directed by Robert Zemeckis, I Am Legend directed by Francis Lawrence,
Miss Brill by Katherine Mansfield and The Bath by Janet Frame.
Connection One: Victims that are in state of isolation try to overcome it through obtaining some sort
of companionship
Those that are absolutely secluded from human civilisation tend to mentally change from their
previous lifestyle to a new lifestyle as they try to overcome the state of isolation. They do it by trying
to obtain some sort of companionship with inanimate object or animals to avert from teetering on the
edge of insanity. This idea is conveyed through the films I Am Legend directed by Francis Lawrence,
Cast Away directed by Robert Zemeckis and also in the short story Miss Brill by Katherine Mansfield.
In I Am Legend A deadly virus burned through human

Abigail Smith Adams
Abigail Smith Adams were borne on November 11,1744. Her parents were Reverend William Smith
and Elizabeth Quincy Smith. She had two sisters named Mary Smith Cranch and Elizabeth Smith
Shaw Peabody and one brother named William Smith. She lived in a rich family, and her parents had
lots of money. She is known as a silent hero to the country.
Abigail Adams was the wife of John Adams, the first Vice President, and the second President of the
United State. She was important for being an unofficial adviser of John Adams and her extensive
correspondence. She was a former first lady as a writer. In her time back then, it was normal for girls
for not attending school.
But Abigail was educated at home by her father and grandfather. She took advantage of her father
libraries and visited often. Her religious affiliation is Congregationalist. Abigail takes special interest
in philosophy, theology, Shakespeare, the classics, ancient history, government and law. On the other
hand, her mother and grandmother taught her social graces, homemaking, and handiwork. In her
earlier years, she was often poor in health.
When she was nineteen years old, she met a lawyer named John Adams. He was a Harvard graduate
pursuing a law career. They were married on October 25, 1761. She moved with him to Braintree.
Three years later, the couple soon had their first child, a daughter named Abigail. Along with John

Analysis Of The Dance Field By Frank Lloyd Wright
On May 11, 1894 in Allegany City, Pennsylvania soon to be Pittsburg, Pennsylvania a legend was
born. Little did Jane and George Graham know that their last name would have worldwide recognition
thanks to their daughter, Martha. Martha Graham s work in the dance field has been compared to
Picasso s work in visual arts, Frank Lloyd Wright s work in architecture, and the influence of
Stravinsky on music. The Graham family moved to California in the 1910 s, and when Graham was
17, she went to see her first ever dance performance. She saw Ruth St. Denis, a modern dance pioneer,
perform in Los Angeles. Graham was so inspired that she begged her parents to allow her to study
dance. Being strong Presbyterians, her parents didn t exactly support the idea. Despite what her
parents thought, Graham enrolled herself in an arts oriented junior college. After her father died, she
started attending the new Denishawn School of Dancing and Related Arts, founded by St. Denis and
her husband, Ted Shawn. What Graham learned there would fundamentally shape her dancing style
moving forward. Pretty soon Graham s technique was strong enough to start working professionally as
a dancer. Her passionate, emotional performance style gained her the attention of the nation. As the
years progressed, Graham transitioned from performer to choreographer. The life of a dancer isn t
always well funded, so when Graham was offered teaching opportunities in New York City, she took
them. In 1926, at age

Analysis Of EHR
Despite the preceding comparison, in general, whether we consider portable or wearable, there is a
necessity to integrate these devices into an electronic medical record EHR in order to allow them to
reach their full potentiality. Although portable devices may offer the option of connecting to a network
through cable, both system will have to probably rely heavily on wireless network connection in order
to transfer their precious data. According to Thomas Haak et al in their comparison of a wearable flash
sensing glucose monitoring technology with a conventional portable method, there is no difference in
the outcomes of the two methods, thus opening the way to consider wearable monitoring as a feasible

Blood Diabetic patients may soon find an alternative to continuous blood sampling detection. So far,
our interest has been mainly on these body fluid, blood and urine, as potential sample in the detection
of glucose. However, new analytes like sweat, saliva and tears start to challenge the status of blood
and urine as the prefered method of sampling for detection. Patients suffering with diabetes use
continuously at home blood glucose monitoring devices, and often, become exhausted with the pain,
the scars, and loss of finger sensitivity associated with having to prick their finger incessantly in order
to obtain blood sample for glucose detection. These factors tend to reduce patient compliance for this
method, with some times dire consequences such as having an hypo or hyperglycemic crisis (1, 26).
Urine Urinalysis, originally known as Uroscopy and aforetime the primary mirror of medicine, dates
back to several thousand years, and still plays an important role in the diagnosis and monitoring of
diabetes (5). We mentioned earlier the awareness in Hindu culture of the sweetness nature of the urine
of some people with an emaciated condition. Armstrong J.A noted that Galen who, during the Roman

Compare And Contrast Tell Tale Heart And The Cask Of...
Vengeful = Villain Revenge has existed for a long time. A vengeful character is often portrayed as the
villain which therefore makes a revenge seem evil, but many authors tend to use revenge in books as a
way to surprise the reader. Two short stories that feature the theme of revenge are , The Cask Of
Amontillado (CA) by Edgar Allen Poe and Sredni Vashtar (SV) by H.H Munro (Saki). In CA the
character s revenge was motivated by Fortunato using acts of derision on the main character in the
past, while in Sredni Vashtar Conradin s revenge is motivated by Mrs. De Ropp s absence of sympathy
for Conradin. In Tell Tale Heart (TTH) by Edgar Allen Poe, the way that the main character kills the

Sredni Vashtar is about Conradi and his sour cousin named Mrs. De Ropp who both hate each other.
Mrs. De Ropp would never, in her honestest moments, have confessed to herself that she disliked
Conradin, though she might have been dimly aware that thwarting him for his good was a duty which
she did not find particularly irksome. (1) In this statement, we find out that Ms. De Ropp finds it
enjoyable to beat Conradin but won t admit it to herself that she does. Conradin justifiably hates her
and knows it in his heart. We see this when the narrator states Conradin hated her with a desperate
sincerity which he was perfectly able to mask (1). Conradin s only freedom during the day is when he
sneaks out to the gardeners shack. When he is there he praises and worships a large polecat ferret. The
cousin is often wonders where he is when he is in the shed. One day she searches his room and finds
the shed key. She then goes into the shed when Conradin is inside. Surprisingly, the polecat ferret kills
her just as Conradin had prayed for it to do. And every night, in the welcome darkness of his bedroom,
and every evening in the dusk of the tool shed, Conradin s bitter litany went up: Do one thing for me,
Sredni Vashtar. The reader is led to believe that Conradin had his revenge planned out and was praying
to his god the ferret named Sredni Vashtar to kill

Arbington Case Study
Arbington is an unusual town. Individuals don t move there voluntarily. They move to Arbington for
reasons of business or government espionage. In Arbington the citizens know each other well, and
there are few mysteries. That all changes when the Chase family comes into town!
One day a Subaru pulled in from the front of the town. The citizens were excited to see the new family
in town since not that many people lived in Arbington.
Days passed and nobody new why the new family was there, it got everyone worried and confused.
All they knew about this family was that they were the Chase family and the parents had a daughter

The Chase family packed up and was out the door like a ticking time bomb. They didn t have that

Racial Profiling In America
Race has been around since time can remember; people have always been judged mainly based by
their color. Things and particular events have happened to make people realize how brutal people have
been toward minorities. They refer to this as Racism and Racial Profiling. Racial Profiling is more
biased based because of one s skin color or religion, and can be seen as a widespread enigma,
according to most of American society; the questions of race have been around for centuries and
Americans are subjective to it as being the one thing that causes worry, initiating it to be the major

The Importance Of The House Of Lords Considering Its...
Introduction:
Having a unicameral UK government has always been a consideration. However, attempts to reform it
or remove it, has become a controversial topic. Some critics believe that the removal of a bicameral
government will be expensive, give the government too much power and reduce representation.
Others consider the abolition of it to be more democratic and cheaper as it takes less time. This essay
will discuss the requirement of the House of Lords considering its benefits and harms. It will also
acknowledge its impacts on Westminster and Scottish Parliament, the power of the parliament and the
legislative process of constitutional reform.
(i) relative functions of Second Chamber in the UK Parliament and unicameral Scotland
The UK Parliament is bicameral. It has two separate chambers; the House of Lords (upper house) and
the House of Commons (lower house). The House of Lords is an unelected chamber totaling up to 790
members. Life peers are the majority members . It shares the same functions as the House of
Commons. Criticized due to similarities. Each house has five stages in the pre legislative process.
Both review and amend proposed legislature and challenging the government. The House of Lords
powers only goes so far regarding amending bills. The house has no authority to amend government
enactments relating to finance. It was introduced by the Parliament Act 1911 after wealthy members
refused to pass the People s Budget which would raise their taxes .

The Threats And Dangers Of Personal Technology In The 21st...
Technology has been a milestone in the 21st century, new advancements are made as each year passes
by. Technology is evolving and is of major significance in present times, whether in our daily lives or
in workplace environments. In this regard, the majority of individuals in the 21st century rely on
technology and the Internet on a daily basis. For instance, the majority of us utilize technology such as
our smartphones and computers to retrieve personal information of ours from the Internet, such as our
bank accounts. Whereas others, such as businesses, have customer data, employee and employer s
personal information, etc. Therefore, we must be precautious as to how we handle and guard our
personal information over the Internet from being hacked or utilized as the ends to a means by
terrorists, hackers, etc. In this regard, oneself must be enlightened about what exactly cybersecurity is,
and what are the potential threats and risks associated to cybersecurity.
According to the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US CERT), cybersecurity is:
the activity or process, ability or capability, or state whereby information and communications systems
and the information contained therein are protected from and/or defended against damage,
unauthorized use or modification, or exploitation (Bullock et al. 323). Additionally, as private sector
owners, we re vulnerable to cyberattacks. Therefore, we must be take precautionary action as a means

Genetic Engineering And Human Engineering
Genetic engineering is a highly debated topic across the world right now as countries are split for and
against genetically altering crops and livestock. The simple definition for genetic engineering
according to CSIRO is The use of modern biotechnology techniques to change genes of an organism,
such as plant or animal. (CSIRO, 2007)
The techniques or steps to genetic engineering are quite technical. The first stage of genetic
engineering is to isolate the DNA from the organism. Once the DNA strand is separated it is cut by a
restricting enzyme. The restricting enzymes snips the DNA into a smaller code usually between the G
and C nucleotides. The restriction enzyme also leaves a unique sticky substance on the end of each
new strand. The next step is too place the newly cut fragments inside a plasmid. A plasmid can be
defined as A linear or circular double stranded DNA that is capable of replicating independently of the
chromosomal DNA. (Biology Online, 2009) this means in order for the new strands of DNA to be
accepted by the cell it must be fixed inside a plasmid. The same restricting enzyme is used on the
plasmid. This allows the DNA strand and plasmid to stick and join together. Once joined the
phosphodiester bonds are formed by the DNA ligase on either edge of the strand. Transformation is
the next stage as the newly formed plasmids are taken in by the host bacterial cells. The cells are now
a DNA library and can be administered to the required organism.

Analysis Of Canadian Economy
Essay: Canadian Economy Analysis and Measures will be taken 1. Introduction and Background of
Canadian economy
In the international foreign exchange market, the Canadian dollar, Australian and New Zealand are
collectively referred to as resources currency (Issa, Lafrance Murray, 2006). The reason for this is that
the currency exchange rate changes are greatly influenced by the international commodity prices.
Canada is humongous, sparsely populated and rich in oil, minerals, timber and Marine resources.
Formed by Canada s export trade, agriculture, forest and energy products. Energy and raw material
prices will make Canadian dollar. In a long run, people generally believe that Canada economy is
vulnerable to external shocks. The influence of the export trade is influenced by international
commodity price fluctuations. Canada international trade relies highly on the United States. However,
due to the proper macroeconomic policy applied, Canada can always successfully resist the external

Persuasive Essay On The Intolerable Acts
We are tired of having our voices silenced and being punished for our harmless actions. We acted in
defiance and in turn we had soldiers placed in our homes, taxes imposed and the removal of our
charter. We should be able to speak freely without persecution. As shown by the Intolerable Acts, we
cannot show our dissatisfaction and speak our minds using action without limitations imposed by the
Motherland. Why continue to be punished and limited when we do not even have representation in the
government that leads us? We need to show the motherland that their restrictions are an overreaction
to our harmless acts and revolt against our cruel leaders. We had soldiers placed in our homes as part
of the Intolerance Acts. We were punished for dumping tea into Boston Harbor. An act for punishing
mutiny and desertion, and for the better payment of the army and their quarters... forces us to house
and provide resources for soldiers. That mutiny being us throwing tea into the harbor in rebellion for
the cruel monopolization and taxation of all tea we purchase. The so called Quartering Act placing
soldiers in our homes was decided upon none other than ...the present session of parliament... that we
are not represented in.
Placing soldiers in our homes is worse enough, but furnishing them with fire, candles, vinegar, and
salt, bedding, utensils for dressing their victuals, and small beer or cyder... is, even more, a burden to
our hard earned money. And what happens if we revolt against

Network Development in the Managed Care Organization
Network Development in the Managed Care Organization To guarantee that its members receive
appropriate, high level quality care in a cost effective manner, each managed care organization (MCO)
tailors its networks according to the characteristics of the providers, consumers, and competitors in a
specific market. Other considerations for creating the network are the managed care organization s
own goals for quality, accessibility, cost savings, and member satisfaction. Strategic planning for
networks is a continuing process. In addition to an initial evaluation of its markets and goals, the
managed care organization must periodically reevaluate its target markets and objectives. After

When evaluating a provider s location for accessibility, managed care organizations consider the
distance between the provider s location and members, as well as geographical barriers. It is not the
intent of a managed care organizations to expend long trips to physicians or hospitals for medical care.
For each provider type, the organization also examines typical patterns of utilization and average costs
for selected services. Baker comments, Defining a panel offers managed care plans the advantage of
selecting providers with whom they are interested in working as well as the potential to obtain some
contracting advantages through which they can sometimes obtain discounts from physicians who
would like to be included in the panel (Baker, 2000, p.3). Because each type of managed care
organization has certain unique characteristics, network strategies must be chosen to fit these
characteristics. An organization that offers more than one type of health plan may choose to coordinate
provider networks through a network within a network approach. This is done by including the
providers from one product s panel in the network of another panel. Provider network strategies are
also found to vary with the geographic scope and market focus of the plan. A growing number of
managed care organizations are attempting to build national provider

Comparing Augustine And Free Will
Paul saw sin as any act that violated God s law, whether that be by nature or literal and physical law. It
was evident that Paul believed that whoever sinned without out the law will perish without the law
(Romans 2:12). He also discusses that those without the law, such as Gentiles, would do law with
what is written in their hearts, their conscience testifying (Romans 2:15). To avoid sin, one can either
follow the law through the legal system, or you can understand the law through one s faith/relationship
with God; either path would hopefully allow someone to avoid sin as much as possible. While Paul
does believe that humans can minimize how much they sin, he does not believe that they escape it all
together. Paul believes that humans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adam and Eve s pride is what led them to sin, because the serpent had informed them that they could
become self sufficient and more knowledgeable. Their undue exaltation (Augustine XI.13), such as
their desire to become self sufficient and knowledgeable like God, allowed them to choose the
wrongly directed path that God has not intended, therefore resulting in the first sin. Lastly, Augustine
also explains how he believes that free will and the body are two distinct things. In fact, Augustine
describes lust (Augustine XI.16) as a type of wrongly directed will that is common among humans,
but explicitly states how this will takes possession of the whole body and moves the whole man
(Augustine XI.16) into bodily pleasures. It is important for Augustine to make this distinction about
the will, because he wants to show how humans still have the opportunity to choose a rightly directed
will, instead of always thinking and/or acting with a wrongly directed

Disadvantages Of Listening To Music
Americans operating automobiles undergo the typical way of life, but sitting behind a wheel can often
start to feel monotonous. Motorcycles, however, seem exotic and provide a rejuvenating change in
tempo. In order to evade colorless life, the populace may listen to music in order to link them into
another reality. While listening to music seems like an entertaining activity, playing it proves to
dominate. Musicians playing guitars mentally, leave reality and enter a dreamlike dimension of spine
tingling rhythm and melody. With both, traveling on a motorcycle or strumming the chords of a guitar,
a beginner must assimilate what they have learned to reach excellence. So whether its a musician
playing melodic tunes on guitar or a motorcyclist cruising on down a highway, both prove ways to
spark a thrill in a rather boring life or ways to improve skills in order to reach certain merit.
Motorcyclists experience immense exhilaration when gliding down long streets or bumping up and
down dusty hills. Trained motorcyclists can perform breathtaking tricks that amaze audiences and
make them feel accomplished. These perks make motorcycling so amusing for not only rides but fans.
For instance, when motorcyclists cruise down empty roads, they can speed up to over 70mph and
weave in and out of lanes while doing impressive wheelies to entertain themselves. Likewise, a
musician playing guitar experiences the thrill of performing. Feeling anxious before going on stage to
wow an audience,

Abstract
This paper examines the effects that cannabis abuse has on human health over an extended period.
Over the years, some researchers have concluded that continuous use of the drug during adolescence,
but not adulthood, could permanently impair cognition and increase the risk for psychiatric diseases.
Other studies suggest that heavy use amongst users can cause changes in subjective mental status,
brain functioning, and neuropsychological performance. Approximately 9% of those who experiment
with cannabis will become addicted, and the treatment for addiction can be challenging, as it often
leads to withdrawal symptoms. Consequently, most governments around the globe decided to enact
legislation in the early to mid 20th century, to help control its abuse; however, recently, some countries
in the Western World have begun to allow its use for medicinal and recreational purposes. All

revolves around the following areas: nature of research, summary, critique, personnel, future practice,
and future research. A. Nature of Research The first article, Predictors of Assessment
Accommodations Use for Students Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing by Cawthon WurtzBest (2010),
is a regression study aimed to explore whether student characteristics, teacher perspectives, and
contextual factors predict accommodations use with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
(Cawthon WurtzBest, 2010). The article is very relevant to special education assessment because it
discussed implications for assessment policies and practices with students who are deaf or hard of
hearing, particularly during an era of accountability reform (NCLB accountability). The second
article, A Methodology for Assessing the Functions of Emerging Speech in Children with

During the second and third months of pregnancy when the fetus is between 1 and 3 ½ inches in size,
the fetus develops pads on their fingers and palms which mark the beginning of the formation of
fingerprints (Johnston, 2015). The growth rate of the fetus and the placement of the pads on their

the third and fourth months of pregnancy, the skin of the fetus begins to develop from a transparent

Urinary Incontinence Assessment
Understanding Types of Urinary Incontinence, Assessments and Appropriate Intervention
Urinary incontinence (UI) can be defined as, involuntary leakage of urine to a degree that it is
troubling to a person (Mauk, p. 545). Not only it is a common problem for the elderly, which has a
tremendous impact on their quality of life, it is also a common health problems that affects more than
17 millions of Americans (Testa, p. 82). Even though urinary incontinence is a common problem for
the senior it is not a normal part of the aging process, however vast majority of people still does not

factors, characteristics, medical history (medical conditions and medications), associated symptoms,
attempted treatments and severity (Testa, p. 83). There are also different tools that a nurse can use
such as the Urogenital Inventory/ Incontinence Impact Questionnaire and Bladder Diary. Using
questionnaires and bladder diary can be used in order to facilitate data gathering for people who have

The Components Of Starbucks Organizational Culture
Recommend the key components of Starbucks Organizational Culture that add to its accomplishment
in a worldwide economy. Demonstrate administration s part with making and managing the
authoritative society.
Hierarchical society has a huge effect on the general execution of an organization. Authoritative
society is the arrangement of imparted, underestimated verifiable presumptions that a gathering holds
and that decides how it sees, contemplates, and responds to its different surroundings (Barney, 1986).
In this paper, I will inspect the components of Starbucks hierarchical society that added to its
accomplishment in a worldwide economy, survey the adequacy of its administration choices in giving
imaginative offerings to its clients, focus one key administration competency, and theorize on whether
the organization would accomplish long haul supportability as a worldwide pioneer in the espresso
business without the association s CEO, Howard Shultz.
On account of the accomplishment of Starbucks, its hierarchical society has been driven and engaged
by the originator and CEO, Howard Schultz. Howard needed to grow the organization and when he
went to Italy before the redesign of the first Starbucks he needed to reflect the ideas of the cafés in
Italy. The key viewpoint to acknowledge here is that hierarchical society influences execution.
Howard Schultz turned into the CEO of Starbucks in 1987. As a business person, he was powerful in
persuading financial specialists

Winslow Homer Hero
I did my modern masterpiece on Winslow Homer, and I recreated his piece The Blue Boat. Winslow
created many beautiful oil paintings that were focused around America, and he was able to create
some of the most realistic paintings for his time. In his artwork he painted people, nature, and nature
lighting as they really appear. Before we further discuss my own panting, it s necessary to recap
information on Winslow s career.
Winslow Homer was born in 1836, in Boston, Massachusetts. He and his family lived close to a sea,
and his father was the owner of a company that bought and sold goods from ships that traveled across
the sea. This might of been what inspired Winslow s many sea and boat paintings. While growing up,
Winslow became very interested ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I first picked up the book for Winslow, I didn t expect to be inspired by his work. Yet, besides
other artists his artwork stuck out to me, mainly the ones water related. I decided to choose The Blue
Boat, as my modern masterpiece because I felt that it was a combination of his drawings including
people, as well as his drawings of nature and the sea. It was a balance between the types of artwork he
created, and my interest in the sea. When I first brought in the my sketch I thought of using paint, but
seeing that Winslow did use watercolor at one point, I decided to go with that. In the drawing I was
going for a more dystopian feel, so i didn t want to dilute the blue too much. I kept a dark tone to the
piece and created a contrast between the dark colors of the top of the page, and the light colors of the
bottom of the page. To modernize the piece I added buildings, smoke stacks and a Mcdonald s sign to
the background. The piece shows what could happen if pollution gets out of hand, murky lakes and
smoke filled skies. In the piece I replaced the trees with buildings, and with the buildings I tried to
create a visual equilibrium between the two sides of the piece. Throughout the entire time of drawing
and coloring the piece, I enjoyed the challenge of using a new

My Ethical Qualms With The Toilet
Initial interest and topic expansion
This paper started as a way to talk about my ethical qualms with the toilet and see if there was a
scientific basis to back them up. More than a history or philosophy of how the modern toilet came to
be, I wanted to see if there is scientific evidence to back up my idea of toilets and the modern sewage
treatment systems as wasteful. In order to understand the wastefulness, or efficiency, of the toilet
however, I had to answer the question, what happens when we flush? This may not be the most
interesting or sexiest information about waste, but it is an important look into a part of the waste
stream we contribute to daily, in fact, according to the American Water Works Association, an average
of five ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Modern sewage formed in response to the 1858 Great Stink of London. The Great Stink was a product
of many factors. The introduction of flush toilets replacing previously popular chamber pots increased
water and waste volume into cesspits. Additionally, these cesspits, once only used for excess rainwater
collection, began to carry waste from slaughterhouses and factories, contaminating the city before its
ultimate departure into the River Thames, which began to overflow with sewage along with its
tributaries. All of this combined with an unusually hot summer encouraged bacterial growth, a rancid
odor, and contributed to a cholera outbreak. In response, London build thousands of miles of
underground pipe and created the modern sewage treatment system [2].
Two categories of sewage treatment
Sewage treatment can be broken into two categories storm sewers and sanitary sewers [3].
Storm sewers
Storm sewers drain excess rain and groundwater from manmade infrastructure like roads and parking
lots, get less treatment or sometimes none at all. Sometimes it may be processed to remove stuff like
car oil [3].
Sanitary sewers
Sanitary sewers are processed to clean up human waste. Although there are many methods of dealing
with human waste, the generally accepted method in North America consists of a three stage sewage
treatment system. In this essay I will look at this three step method system as well

Gel technology is based on the principle of controlled centrifugation of red cells through a dextran
acrylamide gel. One obvious advantage of the gel microtubes is they can be saved for later supervisory
or peer review, for quality assurance, as well as for assistance in any difficult interpretations, since the
reaction is stable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The gel test (ID MTS) was released in Europe in 1988 and became available in the United States in
1995 by Microtyping Systems.[1,2] Instead of the test tube, the reaction occurs in a microtube
consisting of a reaction chamber that narrows to become a column about 15 mm long and 4 mm wide.
The use of gel methods for red cell antibody detection and compatibility testing has generally
improved since its introduction to become a mature and well understood technology. Applicable to
most of the tests performed in blood group serology, it is standardized and relatively easy to perform,
and it provides clear and stable reactions that improve interpretation of results as compared to tube
methods. Microtubes are filled with a mixture of gel, buffer, and reagent (Figure 1). Depending on the
test to be carried out, either a neutral gel containing no reagents (reagents are added to the top of the
gel) or specific gel containing reagents (eg, antiglobulin or anti A, B, D, etc) may be used. At the top
of the gel the suspension of patient red cells (for typing or direct antiglobulin test) or a mixture of
patient or commercial red cells with patient or reagent serum (for reverse ABO typing or antibody
screening/identification) is added, followed by centrifugation through the gel under precise conditions.
In negative reactions, there will be no attachment of antibodies to red

Abraham Lincoln Childhood
Born in Bardstown, Kentucky, Abraham Lincoln taught himself how to be strong, stand for what he
believed and wanted to make a difference. To most he was a hero for his victory in the US Civil War.
Lincoln proved to be a strong military leader. He strategized and paved the way for slaves to be a part
of history. At the young age of two, Abraham Lincoln was unaware he was getting accustomed to a
lifestyle, that would later impact his career. Abraham Lincoln came from a very normal background.
He spent most of his younger years close to nature. He favorited hunting, fishing, cropping, and his
various boyhood escapes. The Lincolns spent most of their time, moving across the west in areas
surrounding slavery. Though Lincoln was most recognized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Lincoln used his background as an outlet when making most of his decisions. During two occasions,
he addressed his respect for Kentucky and its citizens, but needed them to stand behind his vision. In
Sept of 1859, he addressed how he believed slavery was wrong and wish for it not to spread . In 1860,
Lincoln wanted to succeed Pennsylvania. In Feb of 1861, he had the same speech. Many people were
concerned about what Lincoln could actually do. They did not forget that Lincoln had little to no
experience with law. He only had up to eighteen months of formal schooling. Despite these facts,
Lincoln was regarded as Candidate of pride, wealth and aristocratic family distinction . Better than
most union leaders he appreciated conditions in the south... and the advantages of being able to call on
the old southern leaders. He was very generous and considerate. Lincoln was for the North but he was
also connected to the South fundamentally and emotionally. In 1864, a northern delegation conferred
with him concerning escaped slaves coming within union lines. Lincoln was once again facing issues
he did not see coming his way. From left to right, people were expecting him to back up his word. He
had to prove to them he could get the job done, regardless of the obstacles he may

Essence Of Waqf In Quran And Hadith
Introduction
Essence of waqf in Quran and Hadith. In the verses of Quran, By no means you attain righteousness
unless you give 9freely) of that which you love, and whatever you give, of a truth God know it well.
(Al Imran, 3:92). And in Hadith, the Prophet said: When a man dies his acts come to an end, except
three things which is recurring charity, knowledge (by which people benefit), and pious offspring, who
pray for him .
Waqf is by no means an insignificant instituition in Islam. It potential can be discerned by the very
insistence on the non transferability of the ownership rights of the property. Once a piece of property
is given for a charitable purpose, the owner ceases to have any claims over it, because the property is
said to belong to no one but Allah. This concept is great importance for the development of the poorer
section of society if such waqf properties would be managed to generate inome for distribution or
even for further accumulation of assets. Waqf itself also can be regarded as an important economic
activities whilst at the same time ensuring that the benefits will accure to some specific sections of
society.

well. Al Syafie said that waqf is to keep the wealth that can give benefit, and keep it remaining in the
same from while the original owner cannot consume it . In other word, waqf is to keep the wealth that
is beneficial to the needy and the wealth remains in the same condition as well as the owner is not

Advantages Of Electric Fly Killers
How effective are electric fly killers in killing flying insects?
Nowadays, there are always flying insects that are wandering around in a certain place and people
seem to be having a very hard time catching them and killing them at the same time. These flies are a
nuisance to every person because nobody would want to have flies in the house. People would find
these flying insects flying around mostly in their homes, however, they cannot seem to find the source
of this problem. This has occurred every year and yet, people could not find the source of these
problems. Some factors that could be affecting this problem is the change in weather of every month
or season, things that are dirty that may attract flies, etc. The magnitude of this problem may increase
if a solution is not implemented to solve this problem as soon as possible.
Application/Solution
There are different kinds of applications or solutions to this issue, ... Show more content on

The first one is that obviously, electric fly killers eliminate lots of flying insects right away, and it
greatly reduces the insect population around the area. There might be piles and piles of insects within
a few days, and while eventually there will be lesser insects, there is no denying that electric fly killers
play a huge impact on solving this issue. The second benefit is that similarly, electric fly killers allow
people to eliminate flying insects with few chemicals and not much personal involvement. There is no
health risk when it does not come to handling the electric fly killers, nor there any risk of disturbing or
a nest or facing an insect that people fear. Electric fly killers are out of the way and it has limited
personal involvement, so people would not need to involve in anything when it comes to using electric
fly killers. For many people, this is enough to make these devices a popular choice for people that
think of flies as a nuisance to

Reflection Paper On Time Management
DESCRIPTION
Time management is a tool that will aid in becoming a successful student. Time management starts
with setting SMART goals. A SMART goal is Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Time
based. Once SMART goals are in place use calendars to get organized. Keep a monthly calendar
somewhere it can easily be seen to write down goals or deadlines. A whiteboard is one suggestion for
a monthly calendar. Colors or symbols can be used on the calendars to quickly show what is urgent
and what can be delegated. Use a weekly calendar and schedule class, study, work, and social time.
When making a weekly calendar follow the rule one hour of lecture time equals 2 hours of study.
Following this rule would give a person with 5 classes 30 hours of study time. The calendar created
with the schedule will help to create a task list. A task list consists of things that need to be done now
and things that can again be delegated. Setting small goals by month, week and then by the task are
the main tools to get organized using time management.
IMPACT
Learning about time management in EPS class was very informative and helped me immensely. I now
better understand exactly what time management is and how it affects me as a student. I thought that I
was an organized individual, but discovered through this assignment I need some work on my
discipline and organization skills. Going through the steps that are needed to manage time and trying
to put them to work in real life was a

How Does Oprah s Decision To Open Her Academy
I am not in support of Oprah s decision to open her academy because it does not functionally mimic
the environment the girls were brought up in and therefore, cannot educate the girls appropriately for
economic and political life in South Africa. Oprah s Dream Academy for Girls is a lavish and modern,
something fit for people able to afford a boarding school education. The theory of functionalism states
that schools are seen to adapt students to the economic, political, and social institutions of its society.
The government did not support funding the academy, offering that only the basics are needed to
create a learning environment, which Oprah rejected. She privatized the academy and invested
millions of dollars in luxuries and special accommodations. The society the girls live in is one where
majority of citizens are under the poverty line. The academy also caters to girls who are economically
disadvantaged. When they attend the academy, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Political socialization places a person s political loyalty in the government if the government is seen to
have acceptance by the people, good will, and power to make changes. South Africa s government
lack of support in their own public school system demonstrates that they do not have the power to
make changes in society. In return, they cannot gain the citizen s political loyalty since they cannot
meet parts of the criteria. Oprah s Dream Academy has the intention of good will and fits part of the
criteria. If her academy takes some of people s acceptance, it could disrupt the function of being a
political institution of its society by taking trust out of the government. Since she had the power to
create change, the girls attending her academy could lose faith on a national level of government. This
girls futures could lie not with improving their own society, but moving onto ones like the

Analysis Of Blood Meridian And Evening Redness In The West
Blood Meridian or Evening Redness in the West tells the story of a kid named the kid and his violent
adventures of traveling the American west during the early 1800 s. The story starts off with the kid
running away from his abusive alcoholic father. The kid is 14 years old at the time and decides to go
to Memphis. During the kid journey, he meets and befriends a man named Toadvine. Both characters
travel together until they met a man simply known as the Judge. The Judge is a man that enjoys killing
and causing violence everywhere he goes. The kid and Toadvine eventually join a scalp hunting gang
that the Judge is part of. The gang travels all throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Nevada killing and
collecting the scalps of Native Americans. Everywhere the gang travels they bring death and
destruction with them. The gang kills anyone that does not serve any value to them including their
own members. Out of everyone in the gang the kid is the only one with a moral conscious and has a
hard time killing anyone unless it s in self defense. The gang eventually met their end when they were
attacked by Yuma Native Americans in a sneak attack. After the attack, the kid, the Judge, Toadvine
and 2 other members were the only survivors left. Fearing the Judge, a member of the gang
encourages the kid to kill the Judge when he lets his guard down, but the kid couldn t pull the trigger
and instead leaves the gang. Years later the kid grows up and is now known as the man meets the

condition which is described as gross enlargement of an area of the body, especially the limbs. This
enlargement or extreme swelling of body parts is said to reach seven times the normal size. The
enlargement is caused from obstruction of the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is network of
tissues and organs that help rid the body of toxins, waste and other unwanted materials. So, when the
condition blocks off the proper function of this system the fluid with toxins build up and causes the

A Brief Note On The Assembly Operator
Chapter 15
15.4) Starving is defined as the situation where the assembly operator has finished the assigned work
on the give work unit time load but they didn t receive the next unit at the station. Workers are forced
to the situation of starving. Blocking is defined as the work completed at the assigned time limit but
cannot be passed to the downstream station because of the reason that the worker is not ready to
receive the unit. In that case, worker is blocked from working.
15.7) In production line terminology, line efficiency means when the time of downtime of the line is
averaged in, the proportion time limit on the production line. It is basically the ration of theoretical
cycle time to actual production time.
15.9) Service time Ts is defined as the actual amount of period available for work at the station to
complete the assigned task and the cycle time Tc is defined as the periodic time interval between the
arrival of work load at the station. The difference between the both is the repositioning time, Tr.
Mathematically it can be defined as the Ts= Tc Tr.
15.11) Precedence constraint is the restriction on the purchase where the work elements are
performed. There are few elements that must be completed before others. For instance, a threaded hole
must be drilled before it is tapped.
15.12) Balance efficiency is defined as the work content time limit is portioned into the total possible
service time limit on the specific line.

  • 2. Isolation And Its Effects On Its Victims Introduction Isolation has been portrayed in numerous texts for hundreds of years and is still a common theme in literature today. Isolation is not only portrayed in literature but also occurs in real life situations . The effect of isolation on its victims is that they try to overcome their state of isolation by finding a way to obtain some sort of companionship, whether it is with an inanimate object, imagination or with an animal. One does not require to be all alone to be isolated as there are different types of isolation, and one that is quite common today is being socially isolated. The four texts that portray one of these subtopics are Cast Away directed by Robert Zemeckis, I Am Legend directed by Francis Lawrence, Miss Brill by Katherine Mansfield and The Bath by Janet Frame. Connection One: Victims that are in state of isolation try to overcome it through obtaining some sort of companionship Those that are absolutely secluded from human civilisation tend to mentally change from their previous lifestyle to a new lifestyle as they try to overcome the state of isolation. They do it by trying to obtain some sort of companionship with inanimate object or animals to avert from teetering on the edge of insanity. This idea is conveyed through the films I Am Legend directed by Francis Lawrence, Cast Away directed by Robert Zemeckis and also in the short story Miss Brill by Katherine Mansfield. • 4. Analysis Of The Dance Field By Frank Lloyd Wright On May 11, 1894 in Allegany City, Pennsylvania soon to be Pittsburg, Pennsylvania a legend was born. Little did Jane and George Graham know that their last name would have worldwide recognition thanks to their daughter, Martha. Martha Graham s work in the dance field has been compared to Picasso s work in visual arts, Frank Lloyd Wright s work in architecture, and the influence of Stravinsky on music. The Graham family moved to California in the 1910 s, and when Graham was 17, she went to see her first ever dance performance. She saw Ruth St. Denis, a modern dance pioneer, perform in Los Angeles. Graham was so inspired that she begged her parents to allow her to study dance. Being strong Presbyterians, her parents didn t exactly support the idea. Despite what her parents thought, Graham enrolled herself in an arts oriented junior college. After her father died, she started attending the new Denishawn School of Dancing and Related Arts, founded by St. Denis and her husband, Ted Shawn. What Graham learned there would fundamentally shape her dancing style moving forward. Pretty soon Graham s technique was strong enough to start working professionally as a dancer. Her passionate, emotional performance style gained her the attention of the nation. As the years progressed, Graham transitioned from performer to choreographer. The life of a dancer isn t always well funded, so when Graham was offered teaching opportunities in New York City, she took them. In 1926, at age ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although portable devices may offer the option of connecting to a network through cable, both system will have to probably rely heavily on wireless network connection in order to transfer their precious data. So far, our interest has been mainly on these body fluid, blood and urine, as potential sample in the detection of glucose. However, new analytes like sweat, saliva and tears start to challenge the status of blood and urine as the prefered method of sampling for detection. Patients suffering with diabetes use continuously at home blood glucose monitoring devices, and often, become exhausted with the pain, the scars, and loss of finger sensitivity associated with having to prick their finger incessantly in order to obtain blood sample for glucose detection. These factors tend to reduce patient compliance for this method, with some times dire consequences such as having an hypo or hyperglycemic crisis (1, 26). Urine Urinalysis, originally known as Uroscopy and aforetime the primary mirror of medicine, dates back to several thousand years, and still plays an important role in the diagnosis and monitoring of diabetes (5). A vengeful character is often portrayed as the villain which therefore makes a revenge seem evil, but many authors tend to use revenge in books as a way to surprise the reader. Two short stories that feature the theme of revenge are , The Cask Of Amontillado (CA) by Edgar Allen Poe and Sredni Vashtar (SV) by H.H Munro (Saki). In CA the character s revenge was motivated by Fortunato using acts of derision on the main character in the past, while in Sredni Vashtar Conradin s revenge is motivated by Mrs. De Ropp s absence of sympathy for Conradin. Mrs. De Ropp would never, in her honestest moments, have confessed to herself that she disliked Conradin, though she might have been dimly aware that thwarting him for his good was a duty which she did not find particularly irksome. (1) In this statement, we find out that Ms. De Ropp finds it enjoyable to beat Conradin but won t admit it to herself that she does. Conradin justifiably hates her and knows it in his heart. We see this when the narrator states Conradin hated her with a desperate sincerity which he was perfectly able to mask (1). Conradin s only freedom during the day is when he sneaks out to the gardeners shack. When he is there he praises and worships a large polecat ferret. The cousin is often wonders where he is when he is in the shed. One day she searches his room and finds the shed key. She then goes into the shed when Conradin is inside. Surprisingly, the polecat ferret kills her just as Conradin had prayed for it to do. And every night, in the welcome darkness of his bedroom, and every evening in the dusk of the tool shed, Conradin s bitter litany went up: Do one thing for me, Sredni Vashtar. • 11. Genetic Engineering And Human Engineering Genetic engineering is a highly debated topic across the world right now as countries are split for and against genetically altering crops and livestock. The simple definition for genetic engineering according to CSIRO is The use of modern biotechnology techniques to change genes of an organism, such as plant or animal. (CSIRO, 2007) The techniques or steps to genetic engineering are quite technical. The first stage of genetic engineering is to isolate the DNA from the organism. Once the DNA strand is separated it is cut by a restricting enzyme. The restricting enzymes snips the DNA into a smaller code usually between the G and C nucleotides. The restriction enzyme also leaves a unique sticky substance on the end of each new strand. The next step is too place the newly cut fragments inside a plasmid. A plasmid can be defined as A linear or circular double stranded DNA that is capable of replicating independently of the chromosomal DNA. (Biology Online, 2009) this means in order for the new strands of DNA to be accepted by the cell it must be fixed inside a plasmid. The same restricting enzyme is used on the plasmid. This allows the DNA strand and plasmid to stick and join together. Once joined the phosphodiester bonds are formed by the DNA ligase on either edge of the strand. Transformation is the next stage as the newly formed plasmids are taken in by the host bacterial cells. The cells are now a DNA library and can be administered to the required organism. In a ... We acted in defiance and in turn we had soldiers placed in our homes, taxes imposed and the removal of our charter. We should be able to speak freely without persecution. As shown by the Intolerable Acts, we cannot show our dissatisfaction and speak our minds using action without limitations imposed by the Motherland. Why continue to be punished and limited when we do not even have representation in the government that leads us? We need to show the motherland that their restrictions are an overreaction to our harmless acts and revolt against our cruel leaders. We had soldiers placed in our homes as part of the Intolerance Acts. We were punished for dumping tea into Boston Harbor. An act for punishing mutiny and desertion, and for the better payment of the army and their quarters... forces us to house and provide resources for soldiers. That mutiny being us throwing tea into the harbor in rebellion for the cruel monopolization and taxation of all tea we purchase. It was evident that Paul believed that whoever sinned without out the law will perish without the law (Romans 2:12). He also discusses that those without the law, such as Gentiles, would do law with what is written in their hearts, their conscience testifying (Romans 2:15). To avoid sin, one can either follow the law through the legal system, or you can understand the law through one s faith/relationship with God; either path would hopefully allow someone to avoid sin as much as possible. Lastly, Augustine also explains how he believes that free will and the body are two distinct things. In fact, Augustine describes lust (Augustine XI.16) as a type of wrongly directed will that is common among humans, but explicitly states how this will takes possession of the whole body and moves the whole man (Augustine XI.16) into bodily pleasures. Urinary Incontinence Assessment Understanding Types of Urinary Incontinence, Assessments and Appropriate Intervention Urinary incontinence (UI) can be defined as, involuntary leakage of urine to a degree that it is troubling to a person (Mauk, p. 545). Not only it is a common problem for the elderly, which has a tremendous impact on their quality of life, it is also a common health problems that affects more than 17 millions of Americans (Testa, p. 82). Even though urinary incontinence is a common problem for the senior it is not a normal part of the aging process, however vast majority of people still does not seek help due to the fact that they think it is a normal part of aging and the embarrassment related to the social stigma associated with the disease. As a healthcare ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is essential for the nurse to have a proper and detailed assessment to determine the most likely cause or type of UI. One of the most basic and least invasive assessment a nurse can do is to obtain a complete history. A complete history must asked questions such as onset and duration, aggravating factors, characteristics, medical history (medical conditions and medications), associated symptoms, attempted treatments and severity (Testa, p. 83). There are also different tools that a nurse can use such as the Urogenital Inventory/ Incontinence Impact Questionnaire and Bladder Diary. Using questionnaires and bladder diary can be used in order to facilitate data gathering for people who have difficulty discussing incontinence face to face. Thorough history can provide insight and help identify potentially reversible causative factors and contributing risk factors related to UI (Mauk, p. 553). It is also important to have a detailed physical assessment, which focused on genitourinary system, abdominal, rectal and neurologic system, in order to determine the pathophysiology of voiding problems. If the nurse suspects any cognitive impairment from the initial assessment Mini Mental State Examination, Mini Cog, and/or Confusion Assessment Method can be used to determine the severity of the cognitive impairment. It also alerts the healthcare provider for the patient increased risked for constant incontinence and it also determines the appropriate interventions. • 22. The Components Of Starbucks Organizational Culture Recommend the key components of Starbucks Organizational Culture that add to its accomplishment in a worldwide economy. Demonstrate administration s part with making and managing the authoritative society. Hierarchical society has a huge effect on the general execution of an organization. Authoritative society is the arrangement of imparted, underestimated verifiable presumptions that a gathering holds and that decides how it sees, contemplates, and responds to its different surroundings (Barney, 1986). In this paper, I will inspect the components of Starbucks hierarchical society that added to its accomplishment in a worldwide economy, survey the adequacy of its administration choices in giving imaginative offerings to its clients, focus one key administration competency, and theorize on whether the organization would accomplish long haul supportability as a worldwide pioneer in the espresso business without the association s CEO, Howard Shultz. On account of the accomplishment of Starbucks, its hierarchical society has been driven and engaged by the originator and CEO, Howard Schultz. Howard needed to grow the organization and when he went to Italy before the redesign of the first Starbucks he needed to reflect the ideas of the cafés in Italy. The key viewpoint to acknowledge here is that hierarchical society influences execution. Howard Schultz turned into the CEO of Starbucks in 1987. Winslow created many beautiful oil paintings that were focused around America, and he was able to create some of the most realistic paintings for his time. In his artwork he painted people, nature, and nature lighting as they really appear. Before we further discuss my own panting, it s necessary to recap information on Winslow s career. Winslow Homer was born in 1836, in Boston, Massachusetts. He and his family lived close to a sea, and his father was the owner of a company that bought and sold goods from ships that traveled across the sea. When I first picked up the book for Winslow, I didn t expect to be inspired by his work. Yet, besides other artists his artwork stuck out to me, mainly the ones water related. I decided to choose The Blue Boat, as my modern masterpiece because I felt that it was a combination of his drawings including people, as well as his drawings of nature and the sea. It was a balance between the types of artwork he created, and my interest in the sea. When I first brought in the my sketch I thought of using paint, but seeing that Winslow did use watercolor at one point, I decided to go with that. In the drawing I was going for a more dystopian feel, so i didn t want to dilute the blue too much. I kept a dark tone to the piece and created a contrast between the dark colors of the top of the page, and the light colors of the bottom of the page. To modernize the piece I added buildings, smoke stacks and a Mcdonald s sign to the background. The piece shows what could happen if pollution gets out of hand, murky lakes and smoke filled skies. In the piece I replaced the trees with buildings, and with the buildings I tried to create a visual equilibrium between the two sides of the piece. Throughout the entire time of drawing and coloring the piece, I enjoyed the challenge of using a new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Ethical Qualms With The Toilet Initial interest and topic expansion This paper started as a way to talk about my ethical qualms with the toilet and see if there was a scientific basis to back them up. More than a history or philosophy of how the modern toilet came to be, I wanted to see if there is scientific evidence to back up my idea of toilets and the modern sewage treatment systems as wasteful. In order to understand the wastefulness, or efficiency, of the toilet however, I had to answer the question, what happens when we flush? This may not be the most interesting or sexiest information about waste, but it is an important look into a part of the waste stream we contribute to daily, in fact, according to the American Water Works Association, an average of five ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Modern sewage formed in response to the 1858 Great Stink of London. The Great Stink was a product of many factors. The introduction of flush toilets replacing previously popular chamber pots increased water and waste volume into cesspits. Additionally, these cesspits, once only used for excess rainwater collection, began to carry waste from slaughterhouses and factories, contaminating the city before its ultimate departure into the River Thames, which began to overflow with sewage along with its tributaries. All of this combined with an unusually hot summer encouraged bacterial growth, a rancid odor, and contributed to a cholera outbreak. In response, London build thousands of miles of underground pipe and created the modern sewage treatment system [2]. Two categories of sewage treatment Sewage treatment can be broken into two categories storm sewers and sanitary sewers [3]. Storm sewers Storm sewers drain excess rain and groundwater from manmade infrastructure like roads and parking lots, get less treatment or sometimes none at all. Sometimes it may be processed to remove stuff like car oil [3]. Sanitary sewers Sanitary sewers are processed to clean up human waste. Although there are many methods of dealing with human waste, the generally accepted method in North America consists of a three stage sewage treatment system. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The gel test (ID MTS) was released in Europe in 1988 and became available in the United States in 1995 by Microtyping Systems.[1,2] Instead of the test tube, the reaction occurs in a microtube consisting of a reaction chamber that narrows to become a column about 15 mm long and 4 mm wide. The use of gel methods for red cell antibody detection and compatibility testing has generally improved since its introduction to become a mature and well understood technology. Applicable to most of the tests performed in blood group serology, it is standardized and relatively easy to perform, and it provides clear and stable reactions that improve interpretation of results as compared to tube methods. Microtubes are filled with a mixture of gel, buffer, and reagent (Figure 1). Depending on the test to be carried out, either a neutral gel containing no reagents (reagents are added to the top of the gel) or specific gel containing reagents (eg, antiglobulin or anti A, B, D, etc) may be used. At the top of the gel the suspension of patient red cells (for typing or direct antiglobulin test) or a mixture of patient or commercial red cells with patient or reagent serum (for reverse ABO typing or antibody screening/identification) is added, followed by centrifugation through the gel under precise conditions. In negative reactions, there will be no attachment of antibodies to red
