The Importance Of A Career In Nursing
I have been working in the nursing field for quite a while, and I can say that each day is an adventure.
Nursing is a profession that is physically and emotionally draining and oftentimes does not get the
credit when it s due. It can also be both physically emotionally demanding, having someone who
depends on your decisions and capabilities as a nurse, as they entrust their life on your hand, together
with the nursing demands responsibilities can be physically draining. Despite of this facts, by being a
nurse gives me a opportunity to help and serve others, make positive influence to people s lives and to
be the source of their strength during times of illness gives me an eternal satisfaction that no materials
things can ever replaced. And also, the thrill excitement that comes along w/ this career is also one of
the reasons why i decided to still chose and pursue my nursing career. With my knowledge based on
my experiences, I can say that Spiritual or compassionate care involves serving the person as a whole,
through their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Sometimes even just by spending time
with them, holding their hands, talking about what is important to them and considering their faith,
spiritual and religious beliefs gives us a better opportunity as their nurse to make and implement plans
to provide them with a better care. Spiritual needs may be greater during times of illness, and a
separation from routine comforting spiritual or religious

Buzz Lightyear s To Infinity And Beyond
To Infinity and Beyond! is Buzz Lightyear s famous catchphrase in the Toy Story films and the
standard definition is Without limits, limitless, sky s the limit but, hidden in this phrase is a deeper
philosophical meaning. Dr. Kent A. Bessey wrote about how the German mathematician Georg Cantor
published papers that explained the aspects of infinity and was set on figuring out as much as he could
about the limits of infinity. With his tenacity it led Cantor to discover a realm of infinity that no other
mathematician was able to discover. Bessy states that Cantor discovered, a remarkable realm where
half of a pie is as large as the whole infinity comes in all different sizes, and miracles become
mathematically plausible. Cantor would come

Erechteinon On The Acropolis In Athens
I was impressed by Erechtheion, on the Acropolis in Athens. It was built between 421 B.C and 406
B.C. and repaired in 377/76 B.C to include cross walls. Later (7th A.D.) was converted into a
Christian church.
Mnesicles might be an architect of the structure, Phidias was employed as a sculptor. The building had
a religious function, and was meant to serve as a home for Athena (goddess of war and wisdom) and
Poseidon (god of sea, storm, earthquake, horses). There is also a belief that it was built to honor the
king Erechtheus (king of Athens). There is also another belief, that Erechteinon was a replacement of
the temple of Athena Polias.
The building is small comparing to Parthenon, which is on the south from it (see attached image of

Australia Day Debate
Now, in 2017, the protests over Australia Day and the history of the country have escalated to a level
first seen here in America. Over a week ago, in Sydney s Hyde Park, the statute there dedicated to
Captain James Hook was vandalized. With what is presumed to be spray paint, no pride in genocide
and change the date were written across the statute. Many members of Australia s nationalist party
have spoken out and held their own protests in response to this heinous act. They have spoken out how
this act is tarnishing the history of Australia and given the country a bad name as well as spreading the
positivity of nationalism. The Prime Minister of Australia, Malcom Turnbull called the act, via
Facebook, an act of Stalinism, and that Australians

Child Welfare Problems And Domestic Violence
Introduction
An overview of how and why your topic has become an issue. This will include a description and
representation of how your issue has developed over time.
Domestic violence can include physical, verbal, sexual and emotional abuse.
This is a wicked problem, meaning that the priorities of the government change and the definitions of
the source of the problem vary between fixing the blame on inadequate and irresponsible parenting
versus connecting it to the stresses of the larger social environment.
Child welfare problems and domestic violence are affiliated to drug abuse and unmarried parenthood
and at the individual level; concentrated poverty, institutional racism, and ineffective social policies, at
the societal level.
When setting policies, the government s ongoing struggles with how to measure success and whether
it is more effective if we draw our focus narrowly on child safety or more broadly on social and
emotional well being.
With this struggle, the government cannot find an effective solution to minimising family violence.
A home is a place of safety and shelter from danger or/and negativity in the outside world. A family is
a there to take care and protect you from any harm. For the children and other victims involved with
family violence it may be where they are most the vulnerable to assault, misuse or deprivation,
ironically at the very hands of those who have a duty to protect and nourish them. With family
violence, a home and a

Mean Girls Movie Essay
Mean Girls: The Adolescence Stage I will be covering the movie Mean Girls and some major things
that the movie has in concepts of the development that occurs in the adolescence stage such as
attachment, relational aggression, peer influence, and emotions. (Mark Waters, 2004) This movie is a
comedy full of memorable quotes, witty characters that some can relate with, and a lot of laughs but
realistic plot line, but what some people do not know is that some of the actions from the Plastics can
ruin their reputation and life choices.Mean Girls is about a girl named Cady that has been home

You ve got the pressure of being liked by many peers, and perceived popularity. If you picture an
image of the popular kids, you quickly realize that they have power but are not all liked so well by
many kids and teachers. Teens with high perceived popularity have good social and leadership skills
and are attractive and always dressed the best, but they also may be aggressive and can do a lot of
damage by bullying, and being mean to other kids. Relational aggression subtle and indirect
aggression that involves gossiping about and ignoring or excluding others. (Page457) Indirect
aggression such as gossiping about and ignoring others, even presumed friends, although boys engage
in more direct aggression than girls, girls tend to engage in more relational aggression, at least in
adolescence (Smith Rose, Schwartz Mette, 2010). In life it is easier to feel good about yourself if you
are popular than if you are a nerd . Once the cliques gain perceived popularity, they often lose
sociometric popularity, and become less well like Mayeux Sandstrom Cillessen, 2008, pg.

Some time ago, I walked with a young woman who had lost her mother to cancer and was living with
acquaintances. As we were talking, I asked her a question that I love to ask, which is; If you could be
doing anything right now, what would that be? She told me that she was a trained nurse and wanted to
get a job as a labor and delivery nurse, and to have her own place. Well, my sister just so happens to
be a labor and delivery nurse in Orange County. So I made the introduction, and she not only got a job
as a delivery nurse, but she found a great place to live and made a new friend in my sister. I love to
help like that!!! The feedback from weSpark participants was so positive and encouraging that I
started researching the positive effects of exercise on cancer patients and cancer survivors, as well as
its effects on osteoporosis, depression, fatigue, and stress. Every week there seem to be more studies
supporting this. Out of my research, I developed a 6 week Walking to Wellness Program. As for my
goals, here s where things get tricky. My goal would be to find a fiscal sponsor for my walking

How Does Shakespeare s Use Of Flowers In Hamlet
Throughout history flowers have been used as a form of cryptic communication to convey messages
of love and interest which could not be spoken aloud. Flowers serve as a common gift to any mother
or significant other on her birthday and mother s day because of their deep set meaning which was
established hundreds of years ago. The use of flowers to spread a message died years ago however
they are still used to share the emotions of the sender to the receiver. Shakespeare s use of the
language of flowers in Hamlet offers insight into Elizabethan culture by providing examples of the
subtextual meaning which was associated with flowers and how the audience comprehended his use if

people. One reason for variance among the interpretation was because they created this meaning by
observing many different cultures including Chinese, Japanese, Middle Eastern, Greek, and Roman
(Loy, S.2001). Each culture carried its own individual traditions, myths, and religions so the meaning
behind the plants changed depending on which country carried the most influence in that particular
location. In Turkey during the 1600 s the language of flowers had looser interpretations and was
seldom used alone. The name of the flower was followed by a word or poem which rhymed and this
added depth to the meaning of the symbol as a whole (Montagu, M. W. n.d.). The interpretation of
floriography was in reality more abstract than history leads the people to believe, however, this was

The Sale Of Foreign Arms
POSITION PAPER
ON
THE SALE OF FOREIGN ARMS
1. This paper will argue that, in its current state, the sale of foreign arms does not support United
States (US) foreign policy. The sale of US arms exacerbates conflict in the Middle East and
contributes to human rights abuses.1 The Obama administration implemented a Conventional Arms
Transfer Policy in 2014 to control arms sales and prevent human rights abuses while providing the
weapons countries need to defend themselves in order to prevent the need for US boots on the
ground.2 However, these measures are not enough and US weapons can and do still end up in the
hands of terrorists.1

Countries in the area have hoarded, are using, and are asking for more American arms. These events
have unleashed the possibility of a dangerous new arms race in areas of turmoil and changing
alliances.3 Some of the arms the United States sold to the region are being used in conflicts. Saudi
Arabia uses Boeing F 15 fighters to strike Yemen and the United Arab Emirates is flying Lockheed
Martin F 16 s to bomb Yemen and Syria.3 Saudi Arabia in particular has committed human rights
abuses in its air war in Yemen. Amnesty International has called on the US to cease selling bombs,
fighter jets, and combat helicopters to Saudi Arabia. According to the United Nations High
Commissioner for Human Rights, the conflict between Saudi Arabia and anti government rebels has
killed thousands of civilians, and two thirds of those lives were claimed by Saudi air strikes.4
4. The United States has not ignored the role foreign arms sales play in human rights violations. In
2014, President Obama issued a directive called Conventional Arms Transfer Policy. It clearly
expresses that the United States should not sell military arms to countries that are unstable enough that
they might turn the weapons against the US or its allies. The policy calls for officials to examine the
risk that the recipient of the arms would use them to commit human rights violations or that the arms

Analysis On Feeder Reconfiguration Problem
Feeder Reconfiguration is basically an optimization problem which has several objectives and
operating constraints. A. Merlin and H. Black were the first to implement optimization techniques to
solve a Feeder Reconfiguration problem. Optimization is a mathematical tool to obtain an optimized
solution. There are numerous techniques to solve an optimization problem where in each technique
will yield a different network topology and different optimized solution. Heuristic and meta Heuristic
methods were used in the early 90 s to solve feeder reconfiguration problem. These methods uses
many assumptions to yield an optimal solution. However, the solution obtained by heuristic method is

So we are considering many constraints for following the radial configuration of the network. For

The tie switches and the sectionalizing switches have a constraints on number of times they can be

optimization problem which considers all the possible constraints and hence this constraint should also
be taken into account. Maintaining radial nature of the network: [16] As the topology of the network is
being changed from time to time, reconfiguration should be done in such a way

Causes And Prevention Of Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Katrina was a devastating event that left massive destruction in the Gulf coast of America
from Florida to Texas. It is recorded as the most cost devastating disaster in American history and
ranked third as the most catastrophic tropical cyclone in United States behind the Labor Day
Hurricane of 1935 and the Hurricane Camille of 1969. Much of this devastation was caused by failure
of storm surge and levee put in place for protection against these natural disasters. Two thirds of
deaths in New Orleans were attributed to these failures. Designers and builders of this system were
made responsible for its failure since they used shortcuts to save on funds. The devastation that

My Course Load On A Pre Med Track
1. To date, I am currently enrolled at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. I am pursing a Health Science
Studies degree on a Pre Med track. My course load is 17 credit hours including chapel twice a week,
Christian Scriptures class, and a new student experience class required by every Freshman or transfer
student attending Baylor. Along with those, I am in General Biology I, General Chemistry I, General
Biology Lab I, General Chemistry Lab I, Calculus, and General English Composition. Although it is a
vigorous course, a strong suit of mine is time management which is extremely helpful. 2. I am
fascinated by the science field. It is constantly changing through new discoveries. I find it very
interesting that everything in this field may not be true and can be proven wrong. There is nothing set
in stone and through these new discoveries we are able to back up theories and hypotheses or prove
them wrong and in turn opening up new areas of study. I also like knowing why things happen and the
reasoning behind them. My favorite class right now is General Biology I because I am able to
understand the body and why things happen. I am able to make connections about why things happen.
We are currently learning about genetics and I am able to see that Down Syndrome also referred to as

Abstract Christianity and Buddhism are two religions that believe very differently from one another.
They have a different god; believe differently about how the world was created, what humans are and
how we evolved. They have different beliefs on what happens after one dies, how we know what we
know, and how we know right from wrong. These two religions even have a different idea on what we
are supposed to achieve or do during our life time. Due to these differences, people of these religions
have a different spiritual perspective on healing and they would like to be cared for by the doctors and
nurses in different ways. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Buddhism, knowledge is gained through a series of works and scriptures. Aside from the collection
of scriptures, families also teach Buddhists between right and wrong. Buddhism also has the Five
Moral Precepts, which are: do not kill or harm anything living, do not steal, do not engage in sexual
misconduct, do not lie and do not consume intoxicants, such as tobacco, alcohol or mind altering
drugs (ElGindy, 2013). Family is very important in Buddhism (Chen, 2016). In Buddhism, the
meaning of human history is to achieve Nirvana. Spiritual Perspective on Healing In Christianity,
physical and spiritual healing is found through Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate healer and only through
His will can we be healed. (Stanley, 2014). In Buddhism, healing is found more through Karma. If one
has been living a good life, he or she will have good karma and they are less likely to get sick.
However, if they have been living a bad life, he or she will have bad karma, and that is the reason they
get sick (Chen, 2016). In my opinion, I believe that a person is healed through Jesus Christ. Getting
sick is not a punishment from God, it is a natural occurrence. By praying for healing, one can get
healed. There are some instances in which He won t heal us, but that is because He is ready for us to
come home to be with Him.

Sir Thomas More s Utopia and Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince reflect the ideals of the Renaissance.
Their reflections of the Renaissance are similar; however, their representations of the Renaissance also
have distinct differences. The Renaissance or rebirth was a cultural movement that accompanied the
passage of Europe from the Middle Ages to modern times. Niccolo Machiavelli was an Italian civic
humanist, historian, diplomat, philosopher, politician, and writer during the Renaissance. He applied
the values of the Renaissance to his political treatise, The Prince. Sir Thomas was an English lawyer,
philosopher, statesman, and humanist during the Renaissance. He employed the ideals of the
Renaissance to his Latin dialogue, Utopia. Both The Prince and Utopia reflect the ideals of the
Renaissance through their promotion of education, humanism, and reform. There are, nevertheless,
differences in how The Prince and Utopia reflect the Renaissance. Both Sir Thomas More s Utopia
and Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince reflect the ideals of the Renaissance; however, they diverge in
their reflections through their views towards realism, idealism, morality, religion, and rhetoric which
demonstrates that the Renaissance was a diverse cultural movement in early modern Europe. A variety
of events from the eleventh century to the fourteenth century ignited the Renaissance. The Crusades
prompted the Renaissance through the weakening of the feudal nobility and the laity s

Butterflies In class Essay
Question: How do the Mirabal sisters use courage in the novel?
The Courage of the Butterflies
If the average person wanted to stand up to adversity, would they have the courage to do it? In the
historical fiction novel, In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez, the four Mirabal sisters (Dedé,
Minerva, María, and Patria) stand up to adversity and join a revolution against the tyrannical Trujillo
regime in the Dominican Republic. In their own time, all of the sisters gain the courage to join the
revolution and attempt to remove the Trujillo regime from power. The Mirabal sisters commitment to
their cause raises the questions: What is courage, and which sister best exemplifies the qualities of
courage and why? Courage is an individual who defends their beliefs and does not fail because of fear.
Minerva best exemplifies courage through her selfless composure, resilience, and defiance to the
Trujillo regime, and her inspiration to others.
Minerva is extremely courageous against Trujillo and shows defiance to him personally. During the
novel, Minerva has a few direct confrontations with Trujillo. In these confrontations, she never backs
down to this powerful dictator, but shows great courage and wit. When Minerva is asked to dance with
Trujillo, she does not shy away from speaking her mind and letting her opinions be known. When
Trujillo makes an advance at her during the dance, she shows great

Marshmallow Experiment
The marshmallow Experiment is a concept based on the famous saying patience is a virtue. In my
opinion I can compare their choice of snack they chose to wait for to something I might really treasure
or want at this point in my life. This experiment predicts that the children who decided they could wait
longer to get two marshmallows instead of just one, are proven to be by far more successful in their
futures.
This study shows that people want instant gratification often. People tend to choose the fast route
rather than being patient and waiting for something better. A great example of this statement to me is
one of my past experiences. As a senior in high school the thing I saw most important was getting my
first car. I soon got a job saved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that this desire for a car was important for me to gain more freedom from being home. Well
sure enough the time came where I had enough money to fulfill my desires. And here is where my
argument stands, had I waited and saved just a couple more checks I could have got myself something
very reliable and maybe even faster or more luxurious. As you can guess my precious 2001 mustang
broke down in a matter of months. I was carless and anxious to buy another car.
Same rule applies for example when a tobacco addict isn t able to quit smoking. The main notion of
this issue, In my opinion is a lack of self control. The children in the video and experiment are also
pulling their hair and trying their hardest to fight the urge of going and grabbing the marshmallow or
snack. This to me shows that the feeling had different types of emotions going on inside their heads
for them to react the way they were. And this experiment to me isn t anything big, I mean if someone
really wants something, they will do whatever is in their power to try and pursue that goal. As a
college student if I want to pass all my classes and get great grades I have to risk long nights, long
days, headaches and lots of money in

The Origin Of The Egyptian Religion
Horus is one of the oldest and most meaningful deities in agent Egyptian religion. He was worshiped
through the late predynastic period and through the Greco Roman times. From as far back as we know
the Egyptians believed that Osiris was of divine origin, that he suffered death and mutilation at the
hands of evil, and after a great struggle with these powers he rose again, that he then became the king
of the underworld and judge of the dead, and because he had conquered death the honorable also
might conquer death (Horus of Edfu). There is so much that we have learned about Horus, from who
he was before he was a God, to who he symbolizes, and the different ways of representation. Horus s
mother was the Goddess Isis and his father was Osiris. Isis fled from Set to give birth to Horus safely,
knowing Set would want to kill Horus as he already killed Osiris. Horus then became Set s enemy,
eventually defeating Set, thus avenging his father and assuming the rule. Horus emerged as a local god
in many places and with different names. Some of the names were Harmakhis Horus in the Horizon ,
Harpocrates Horus the Child and, Harsiesis Horus, Son of Isis (Horus, Encyclopedia). Horus became
the universal name for many different gods associated with falcons. From the 1st dynasty onward,
Horus and the god Set were presented as perpetual antagonists who were reconciled in the harmony of
Upper and Lower Egypt. Featured as a royal man with the head of a falcon or hawk, Horus often holds

Chapter 5 Qualitative research results and discussion
To analyse the objectives of this study further, interview questions were ready for opinion leaders,
which include journalists, staffs of the management team and PR practitioners. Only key sentences or
words of discussion were chosen due to the word limitation, the full translated transcripts are attached
at Appendix B. The findings of interview have three parts, which related to the three research
questions.
A: For the question of the impact of opinion leaders on Weibo, the viewpoints from interviewees all
admitted the leading roles of opinion leaders, but their influences are limited.
1) Most interviewees agreed opinion leaders have the influence on fans, but they pointed out the
impact has limitations.
Anonymous manager: Opinion leaders have the impacts on fans communities, but the impact has the
limitations.
Gu Yue: Of course they have some impacts on their areas [...] (but) it is easier for them to guide
followers to do something more than change the other s opinion.
Yang Juntao: Opinion leaders have the ability to influence or even change followers opinions.
Anonymous PR practitioner: Opinion leaders generally control the directions of discourse in fan

The Field Of A Medical Office Administration
The field of study I am particularly interested in is Medical Office Administration. Based on my own
research this job involves sitting for long periods of time, requires extensive knowledge of computers
and the ability of multitasking. The roles of this job include effectively managing an office. They work
in a variety of fields ranging from a physician s office to a rest home facility. There are particular
skills needed to do well in this, which include being well organized, good communication skills, and
an understanding of medical terms. This job is more suitable to people who work well with computer
technology. In addition, someone who is able to pay attention to details would succeed in this field. I
am interested in this field based on the heavy use with computers and the fact that there is a variety of
job options out there. In the Medical Office Administration field, these types of jobs will be in higher
demand as the population continues to grow.
With this particular job, daily duties will include answering the telephone, scheduling appointments,
organizing medical records, processing insurance forms, etc. Also someone in this field could have
bookkeeping tasks or use spreadsheets. It is necessary to have throughough knowledge of Microsoft
Word, Excel, and also PowerPoint to effectively complete these duties. If any doctor or other health
official needs something done, it is an Administrator s job to effectively complete that. Primarily since

The Inuktitut Culture
Some of the questions and observations I mention as arising from an ecological perspective, such as
the effect of tribal movement and climate change, link with ones that might arise when approaching
anthropological work with First Nation peoples in northern Canada from a cultural angle. The Cree
and Inuit, along with other First Nation tribes, are often described in relation to their intimate ties with
the environment. This intimacy (Hallenday) shapes every aspect of their cultures how they hunt, how
they socialize, even their language. The Inuktitut language, for example, is known for its linguistic
variability in finely distinguishing between different types of weather, the subtlety of which is easily
lost in translation (throughout Hallenday s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While a best definition of the term culture remains elusive, most anthropologists would agree on the
necessity for having a working definition. John Monaghan and Peter Just elegantly define the slippery
notion of culture as our capacity to conceptualize the world and to communicate those conceptions
symbolically (2000).
In a paper on Indigenous knowledge production around diabetes, Heather Howard makes the point
that
Individual illness and disease are inseparable from collective experience. They are interpreted through
shared, distinct, intersecting, historical and ongoing conditions of economic, political, and other
oppressions. Restoration of health and well being are achieved through actions grounded in collective

Journey Of The Hero Journey
The journey of the hero is about the courage to seek the depths; the image of creative rebirth; the
eternal cycle of change within us; the uncanny discovery that the seeker is the mystery which the
seeker seeks to know. The hero journey is a symbol that binds, in the original sense of the word, two
distant ideas, and the spiritual quest of the ancients with the modern search for identity always the one,
shape shifting yet marvelously constant story that we find. This journey will go with Duk thul/Dirty
skin. At the beginning Duk thul was lazy and dirty person. He did not do anything everyone called
him Duk thul/dirty skin because he would just sleep all day and he was dirty. No one knew that he was
doing at night when everyone fell asleep. The first stage of the cycle is The Orphan . Orphan may feel
like an orphan; alone, unloved, or confused. In Duk thul/Dirty Skin; there are 4 brothers who were the
sons of the village. One day, one of the brothers, for reasons no one knows, decided he wanted to be
different than his brothers. He could not be like them anymore . One day, this brother, dragging his
blanket behind him, went to the fire and lay down in the dirt next to the fire, covered himself up with
his blanket, and went to sleep; right in the middle of the day while everyone else was working. No one
understood, why he was doing what he did. This next phase has the orphan looking for the answers to
their big questions, but they don t know where the answers are at.

How Did Emily Dickinson s Life Affect Her Poetry
Emily Dickinson went through tough conditions, depression, when writing poetry. Her poems not only
were reflected by her feelings, but about everyday subjects, like a dream she had, something she saw
in a garden, and people she came across with. Dickinson did not write like other poets during the
nineteenth century, she wrote lyrics, poems about the inner life of thoughts and feelings. She was on
the greatest masters of the short lyric poem.
Dickinson was born on December 10, 1830 in Amherst, Massachusetts. Her parents were Edward
Dickinson and Emily Norcross. Dickon s father was a graduate of Yale law college, he was Amherst s
chief citizen and a successful lawyer. Norcross, suffered a long term illness and needed care from her
daughters. Dickinson s older brother was William Austin and she had a younger sister when she was
two, named Lavinia Norcross, was very close to her sister and kept her company. Dickinson and her
siblings were the third generation of Dickinson s born in Amherst (Emily Dickinson s Life). The

Her principal at Amherst Academy, Leonard Humphrey, and a book of poetry by Ralph Waldo
Emerson inspired her to write poetry. Dickinson s poetry was influenced by the Metaphysical poets of
the seventeenth century England (Biography.com Editors). In 1858, Dickinson made time to make
clean copies of her poems and created booklets for them. In the next seven years, she made 40
booklets, together they contained 800 poems (Emily Dickinson). Emily did not leave any instructions
for the publishing of any of her poems. Dickinson would send Susan Dickinson, her sister in law,
poems. Susan admired her poetry. Dickinson would also send her letters, which were later burned
when she passed away. Susan introduced Samuel Bowles, publisher and editor of the influential
Springfield Republican, to Dickinson. Bowles published seven of her poems during her lifetime,

Satan As A Tragic Hero Essay
DeRosas 1
Sundi M. DeRosas
Professor Julie Roth
ENGL.2322.W31C
6 December, 2015 Satan as a tragic hero
In the poem of ?Paradise Lost? written by John Milton, Satan is thought of as a tragic hero because he
is perceived as a strong leader to the fallen angels and has tremendous importance. He struggles to
overcome his apprehensions and choses to dedicate him to evil. He lacks strength to accomplish his
goal of corrupting mankind. Satan becomes unable to judge God?s grace and is not able to find a way
of making his past right. Therefore, he is punished by being condemned to eternal Hell. In the
beginning of ?Paradise Lost?, Milton draws the reader to Satan by his very seductive ways and lures
them to believe he is an innocent victim by his cunning character. The reader sees Satan as having
attributes of a hero because we see him through his eyes. His evil is brought to human level and one
may feel compelled to understand him. We begin to sympathize with him against our will and realize
just how seductive evil really is and not to succumb to it. Satan shares his pain and alienation as he
reaches Earth. The reader can identify with him and therefore feels sympathetic towards him. Many
tragic heroes begin their journey because of self assurance and pride and are not prosperous in the end.
Satan obtains a struggle within him and questions God?s relationship with the angels in Heaven and
doesn?t believe God should be above everyone else. He has many

Personal Finance Management And Investment Recommendations
Personal Finance Management Investment Recommendations The definition of personal finance is
often defined as being the application of financial principles within an individual or family unit. Such
application includes: budgeting, saving, spending, and assessing risks. Evidently, such financial
management is of great importance. Therefore, in this paper, I will provide an overview of an
individual s personal finances by referencing their investment style and briefly stating their financial
objective. In addition, I will provide some recommendations said individual should consider with the
purpose of aligning their investment choices with their overall financial goal. Let s us start off by
discussing some facts that were provided by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now, let us calculate what his investment style will amount to if he were to continue making the same
investment choices until retirement. To start off, we can see that Joe is not a risky investor; he has only
invested in individual accounts, certificate of deposits, and his 401k. In addition, he saves an average
of 10% of each paycheck (which we will assume to be $5,000 annually based on a $50,000 median
household income). As noted earlier, his primary objective is to retire on annual income of $50,000.
We can assume then that his goal is to save approximately $1,250,000 . Therefore, if Joe continues to
invest $5,000 annually ($416.67 monthly) into his saving account for the next 25 years, his
investment, assuming a current balance of $5,000 compounded daily at 0.01% (as currently being
offered by WellsFargo), will amount to about $130,170 . Now, Joe has also invested in certificate of
deposits (CDs). He reported as simply having been reinvesting his original $5,000 for the past six
years. Assuming a stated 0.30% interest rate on a two year CD with daily compounding, his $5,000
investment is now worth about $5,091 . However, he seeks to reinvest this until retirement.
Performing similar calculations, we obtain a grand total of $5,488 . This is what his CD would amount
to if he were to reinvest for the next 25 years. Now, let us proceed to examining his 401k
contributions. Joe contributes, on

Eminent Domain
This may seem controversial as some people may not be able to understand how public parks benefit
anyone. Public parks may seem purely aesthetic and ornamental, adding no true value to society,
therefore some would argue that the government has no justification for taking their property.
Eminent Domain was even used in World War II; During World War II, the Lands Division oversaw
the acquisition of more than 20 million acres of land. Property was transformed into airports and naval
stations , war materials manufacturing and storage , proving grounds, and a number of other national
defense installations. This use of Eminent Domain justified as it is clear that the clause was put into
practice for the sake of the American public. Land ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a podcast on his church and Eminent Domain, a New York church s founder, Reverend Fred
Jenkins, says the town of North Hempstead in 1998 exercised eminent domain and took the sanctuary
as part of plans for a shopping and housing complex. Jenkins says that was a blow to his congregation.
Why does one church even matter? Are the shopping and housing complex not going to directly
benefit the public as people shop or look for residences? Jenkins thinks otherwise, explaining, We d
been feeding people that were hungry and paying for their lights when their lights was out and buying
Pampers for their kids when their babies was in need. If you put an apartment building there, nobody
in that apartment building would do the same thing for the people that the church will do. The church
not only represents an institution of faith and prayer; it represents a home that people can turn to in
times of struggle. Which should be more supported: the close knit feeling of community that the
church provides, or the economic profit by way of a mall and apartment building? Can or should
religious liberty ever be sacrificed for economic redevelopment? As Mr. JOHN MAUCK (Attorney to
Jenkins) puts it, The ability to have a place to assemble, to come together, is integral to almost every
faith. It s fine to say you can believe what you want in your head, but free exercise of religion really
involves meeting

Mythology in Zora Neale Hurston s Their Eyes Were...
Mythology is a key part of many of Zora Neale Hurston s short stories and novels. She researched the
stories of her home town and many other areas of the world. Hurston used this knowledge of myths
and stories to help her carry them on to later generations in a form that almost everybody could relate
to. Through out all of Zora Neale Hurston s stories, mythology has been a crucial keystone. Her novel,
Their Eyes Were Watching God, has been influenced by three different ancient myths: the myths of
Ezili Freda, Osiris and Isis, and Aphrodite and Adonis.
Janie s love for nature and turbulent relationships comes from the myth of the Haitian Goddess of
love, Ezili Freda. In the novel the main character, Janie, is deeply interested in love and ... Show more

But this relationship is cut short by Adonis getting attacked and castrated by a wild boar (Stine). Later,
Adonis bled to death (Stine). After her first three husbands Janie finally found a man she could be
with, Tea Cake. And going along with the myth of Aphrodite and Adonis, Janie must stand by and
watch as Tea Cake is attacked by an animal which in Hurston s story was a dog. She ends up having to
kill him and watch him die as did Aphrodite with Adonis.
One of the largest mythological influences on Their Eyes Were Watching God is the myth of Isis and
Osiris. Ishtar is a goddess associated with love and was very callous with the men that she loved.
(Pondrom 181). Ishtar fell in love with a God by the name of Tammuz and eventually ended up being
responsible for his death (Pondrom 181). She descended into the underworld and was successful in
bringing him back and she lived at peace (Pondrom 181). We see strong parallels to this myth in Their
Eyes Were Watching God. After multiple loveless relationships Janie fell in love with Tea Cake. She
eventually had to kill him because he had rabies. Later, she was able to restore him to her memory,
bringing her peace. Isis and Osiris were in love, but this relationship did not last long once Osiris was
killed (Pondrom 181). Osiris body was sent out on a ship and Isis goes to retrieve the body and is able
to partially restore him (Pondrom 181). Again, a myth with Isis losing her love and being able to
restore them

He also recognizes that character traits within a person can influence behavior, but does not believe
traits alone can explain behavior and learning. Instead, Bandura expanded upon these theories and
developed the concept of reciprocal determinism, which posits that the person, their environment, and
behavior all influence one another. Bandura argued that personal factors affect behavior, which alters
the environment, and that environment is not only a cause of behavior, but also an effect of behavior,
and these all operate as interlocking determinants of each other (Bandura, 1978, p. 346). Therefore, if
we are going to attempt to understand human behavior, all of these factors and their mutual influences
must be recognized. (Cloninger, 2007, p.353). Self Regulation. Bandura s theory is essentially an
agentic perspective, which views people as self organizing, proactive, and self regulating, as opposed
to being reactive organisms shaped solely by environmental forces. His theory posits that human
beings have a considerable amount of control over their own behavior, though they may exhibit
variations on how effectively they exert it. Bandura believed that individuals can be, essentially, self
directed, at least to the extent that they are able to make goals and then track and evaluate their own
progress.

  • 2. The Importance Of A Career In Nursing I have been working in the nursing field for quite a while, and I can say that each day is an adventure. Nursing is a profession that is physically and emotionally draining and oftentimes does not get the credit when it s due. It can also be both physically emotionally demanding, having someone who depends on your decisions and capabilities as a nurse, as they entrust their life on your hand, together with the nursing demands responsibilities can be physically draining. Despite of this facts, by being a nurse gives me a opportunity to help and serve others, make positive influence to people s lives and to be the source of their strength during times of illness gives me an eternal satisfaction that no materials things can ever replaced. And also, the thrill excitement that comes along w/ this career is also one of the reasons why i decided to still chose and pursue my nursing career. With my knowledge based on my experiences, I can say that Spiritual or compassionate care involves serving the person as a whole, through their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Sometimes even just by spending time with them, holding their hands, talking about what is important to them and considering their faith, spiritual and religious beliefs gives us a better opportunity as their nurse to make and implement plans to provide them with a better care. Spiritual needs may be greater during times of illness, and a separation from routine comforting spiritual or religious ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Buzz Lightyear s To Infinity And Beyond To Infinity and Beyond! is Buzz Lightyear s famous catchphrase in the Toy Story films and the standard definition is Without limits, limitless, sky s the limit but, hidden in this phrase is a deeper philosophical meaning. Dr. Kent A. Bessey wrote about how the German mathematician Georg Cantor published papers that explained the aspects of infinity and was set on figuring out as much as he could about the limits of infinity. With his tenacity it led Cantor to discover a realm of infinity that no other mathematician was able to discover. Bessy states that Cantor discovered, a remarkable realm where half of a pie is as large as the whole infinity comes in all different sizes, and miracles become mathematically plausible. • 4. Erechteinon On The Acropolis In Athens I was impressed by Erechtheion, on the Acropolis in Athens. It was built between 421 B.C and 406 B.C. and repaired in 377/76 B.C to include cross walls. Later (7th A.D.) was converted into a Christian church. Mnesicles might be an architect of the structure, Phidias was employed as a sculptor. The building had a religious function, and was meant to serve as a home for Athena (goddess of war and wisdom) and Poseidon (god of sea, storm, earthquake, horses). There is also a belief that it was built to honor the king Erechtheus (king of Athens). There is also another belief, that Erechteinon was a replacement of the temple of Athena Polias. The building is small comparing to Parthenon, which is on the south from it (see attached image of satellite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Australia Day Debate Now, in 2017, the protests over Australia Day and the history of the country have escalated to a level first seen here in America. Over a week ago, in Sydney s Hyde Park, the statute there dedicated to Captain James Hook was vandalized. With what is presumed to be spray paint, no pride in genocide and change the date were written across the statute. Many members of Australia s nationalist party have spoken out and held their own protests in response to this heinous act. They have spoken out how this act is tarnishing the history of Australia and given the country a bad name as well as spreading the positivity of nationalism. The Prime Minister of Australia, Malcom Turnbull called the act, via Facebook, an act of Stalinism, and that Australians ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Child Welfare Problems And Domestic Violence Introduction An overview of how and why your topic has become an issue. This will include a description and representation of how your issue has developed over time. Domestic violence can include physical, verbal, sexual and emotional abuse. This is a wicked problem, meaning that the priorities of the government change and the definitions of the source of the problem vary between fixing the blame on inadequate and irresponsible parenting versus connecting it to the stresses of the larger social environment. Child welfare problems and domestic violence are affiliated to drug abuse and unmarried parenthood and at the individual level; concentrated poverty, institutional racism, and ineffective social policies, at the societal level. When setting policies, the government s ongoing struggles with how to measure success and whether it is more effective if we draw our focus narrowly on child safety or more broadly on social and emotional well being. With this struggle, the government cannot find an effective solution to minimising family violence. A home is a place of safety and shelter from danger or/and negativity in the outside world. A family is a there to take care and protect you from any harm. For the children and other victims involved with family violence it may be where they are most the vulnerable to assault, misuse or deprivation, ironically at the very hands of those who have a duty to protect and nourish them. With family violence, a home and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If you picture an image of the popular kids, you quickly realize that they have power but are not all liked so well by many kids and teachers. Teens with high perceived popularity have good social and leadership skills and are attractive and always dressed the best, but they also may be aggressive and can do a lot of damage by bullying, and being mean to other kids. Relational aggression subtle and indirect aggression that involves gossiping about and ignoring or excluding others. (Page457) Indirect aggression such as gossiping about and ignoring others, even presumed friends, although boys engage in more direct aggression than girls, girls tend to engage in more relational aggression, at least in adolescence (Smith Rose, Schwartz Mette, 2010). Some time ago, I walked with a young woman who had lost her mother to cancer and was living with acquaintances. As we were talking, I asked her a question that I love to ask, which is; If you could be doing anything right now, what would that be? She told me that she was a trained nurse and wanted to get a job as a labor and delivery nurse, and to have her own place. Well, my sister just so happens to be a labor and delivery nurse in Orange County. So I made the introduction, and she not only got a job as a delivery nurse, but she found a great place to live and made a new friend in my sister. I love to help like that!!! • 9. How Does Shakespeare s Use Of Flowers In Hamlet Throughout history flowers have been used as a form of cryptic communication to convey messages of love and interest which could not be spoken aloud. Flowers serve as a common gift to any mother or significant other on her birthday and mother s day because of their deep set meaning which was established hundreds of years ago. The use of flowers to spread a message died years ago however they are still used to share the emotions of the sender to the receiver. Shakespeare s use of the language of flowers in Hamlet offers insight into Elizabethan culture by providing examples of the subtextual meaning which was associated with flowers and how the audience comprehended his use if these allusions. One reason for variance among the interpretation was because they created this meaning by observing many different cultures including Chinese, Japanese, Middle Eastern, Greek, and Roman (Loy, S.2001). Each culture carried its own individual traditions, myths, and religions so the meaning behind the plants changed depending on which country carried the most influence in that particular location. In Turkey during the 1600 s the language of flowers had looser interpretations and was seldom used alone. The name of the flower was followed by a word or poem which rhymed and this added depth to the meaning of the symbol as a whole (Montagu, M. W. n.d.). • 10. The Sale Of Foreign Arms POSITION PAPER ON THE SALE OF FOREIGN ARMS 1. This paper will argue that, in its current state, the sale of foreign arms does not support United States (US) foreign policy. The sale of US arms exacerbates conflict in the Middle East and contributes to human rights abuses.1 The Obama administration implemented a Conventional Arms Transfer Policy in 2014 to control arms sales and prevent human rights abuses while providing the weapons countries need to defend themselves in order to prevent the need for US boots on the ground.2 However, these measures are not enough and US weapons can and do still end up in the hands of terrorists.1 2. Countries in the area have hoarded, are using, and are asking for more American arms. These events have unleashed the possibility of a dangerous new arms race in areas of turmoil and changing alliances.3 Some of the arms the United States sold to the region are being used in conflicts. Saudi Arabia uses Boeing F 15 fighters to strike Yemen and the United Arab Emirates is flying Lockheed Martin F 16 s to bomb Yemen and Syria.3 Saudi Arabia in particular has committed human rights abuses in its air war in Yemen. Amnesty International has called on the US to cease selling bombs, fighter jets, and combat helicopters to Saudi Arabia. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the conflict between Saudi Arabia and anti government rebels has killed thousands of civilians, and two thirds of those lives were claimed by Saudi air strikes.4 4. The United States has not ignored the role foreign arms sales play in human rights violations. In 2014, President Obama issued a directive called Conventional Arms Transfer Policy. It clearly expresses that the United States should not sell military arms to countries that are unstable enough that they might turn the weapons against the US or its allies. The policy calls for officials to examine the risk that the recipient of the arms would use them to commit human rights violations or that the arms ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are numerous techniques to solve an optimization problem where in each technique will yield a different network topology and different optimized solution. It is recorded as the most cost devastating disaster in American history and ranked third as the most catastrophic tropical cyclone in United States behind the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 and the Hurricane Camille of 1969. Much of this devastation was caused by failure of storm surge and levee put in place for protection against these natural disasters. Two thirds of deaths in New Orleans were attributed to these failures. Designers and builders of this system were made responsible for its failure since they used shortcuts to save on funds. My course load is 17 credit hours including chapel twice a week, Christian Scriptures class, and a new student experience class required by every Freshman or transfer student attending Baylor. Along with those, I am in General Biology I, General Chemistry I, General Biology Lab I, General Chemistry Lab I, Calculus, and General English Composition. Although it is a vigorous course, a strong suit of mine is time management which is extremely helpful. 2. I am fascinated by the science field. It is constantly changing through new discoveries. I find it very interesting that everything in this field may not be true and can be proven wrong. There is nothing set in stone and through these new discoveries we are able to back up theories and hypotheses or prove them wrong and in turn opening up new areas of study. I also like knowing why things happen and the reasoning behind them. My favorite class right now is General Biology I because I am able to understand the body and why things happen. I am able to make connections about why things happen. We are currently learning about genetics and I am able to see that Down Syndrome also referred to as Trisomy 21. I can connect the two names together because tri means 3 resulting in 3 chromosomes of number 21. I loved being able to make connections where the light bulb in my head goes off. Another ... Spiritual Perspective on Healing In Christianity, physical and spiritual healing is found through Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate healer and only through His will can we be healed. (Stanley, 2014). In Buddhism, healing is found more through Karma. If one has been living a good life, he or she will have good karma and they are less likely to get sick. However, if they have been living a bad life, he or she will have bad karma, and that is the reason they get sick (Chen, 2016). In my opinion, I believe that a person is healed through Jesus Christ. Getting sick is not a punishment from God, it is a natural occurrence. By praying for healing, one can get healed. There are some instances in which He won t heal us, but that is because He is ready for us to come home to be with Him. Critical Components of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their reflections of the Renaissance are similar; however, their representations of the Renaissance also have distinct differences. The Renaissance or rebirth was a cultural movement that accompanied the passage of Europe from the Middle Ages to modern times. Niccolo Machiavelli was an Italian civic humanist, historian, diplomat, philosopher, politician, and writer during the Renaissance. He applied the values of the Renaissance to his political treatise, The Prince. Sir Thomas was an English lawyer, philosopher, statesman, and humanist during the Renaissance. He employed the ideals of the Renaissance to his Latin dialogue, Utopia. Both The Prince and Utopia reflect the ideals of the Renaissance through their promotion of education, humanism, and reform. There are, nevertheless, differences in how The Prince and Utopia reflect the Renaissance. Both Sir Thomas More s Utopia and Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince reflect the ideals of the Renaissance; however, they diverge in their reflections through their views towards realism, idealism, morality, religion, and rhetoric which demonstrates that the Renaissance was a diverse cultural movement in early modern Europe. The Courage of the Butterflies If the average person wanted to stand up to adversity, would they have the courage to do it? In the historical fiction novel, In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez, the four Mirabal sisters (Dedé, Minerva, María, and Patria) stand up to adversity and join a revolution against the tyrannical Trujillo regime in the Dominican Republic. In their own time, all of the sisters gain the courage to join the revolution and attempt to remove the Trujillo regime from power. The Mirabal sisters commitment to their cause raises the questions: What is courage, and which sister best exemplifies the qualities of courage and why? Courage is an individual who defends their beliefs and does not fail because of fear. Minerva best exemplifies courage through her selfless composure, resilience, and defiance to the Trujillo regime, and her inspiration to others. Minerva is extremely courageous against Trujillo and shows defiance to him personally. During the novel, Minerva has a few direct confrontations with Trujillo. In these confrontations, she never backs down to this powerful dictator, but shows great courage and wit. This experiment predicts that the children who decided they could wait longer to get two marshmallows instead of just one, are proven to be by far more successful in their futures. This study shows that people want instant gratification often. People tend to choose the fast route rather than being patient and waiting for something better. He was worshiped through the late predynastic period and through the Greco Roman times. From as far back as we know the Egyptians believed that Osiris was of divine origin, that he suffered death and mutilation at the hands of evil, and after a great struggle with these powers he rose again, that he then became the king of the underworld and judge of the dead, and because he had conquered death the honorable also might conquer death (Horus of Edfu). There is so much that we have learned about Horus, from who he was before he was a God, to who he symbolizes, and the different ways of representation. • 28. Satan As A Tragic Hero Essay DeRosas 1 Sundi M. DeRosas Professor Julie Roth ENGL.2322.W31C 6 December, 2015 Satan as a tragic hero In the poem of ?Paradise Lost? written by John Milton, Satan is thought of as a tragic hero because he is perceived as a strong leader to the fallen angels and has tremendous importance. He struggles to overcome his apprehensions and choses to dedicate him to evil. He lacks strength to accomplish his goal of corrupting mankind. Satan becomes unable to judge God?s grace and is not able to find a way of making his past right. Therefore, he is punished by being condemned to eternal Hell. In the beginning of ?Paradise Lost?, Milton draws the reader to Satan by his very seductive ways and lures them to believe he is an innocent victim by his cunning character. The reader sees Satan as having attributes of a hero because we see him through his eyes. His evil is brought to human level and one may feel compelled to understand him. We begin to sympathize with him against our will and realize just how seductive evil really is and not to succumb to it. Satan shares his pain and alienation as he reaches Earth. The reader can identify with him and therefore feels sympathetic towards him. Many tragic heroes begin their journey because of self assurance and pride and are not prosperous in the end. Satan obtains a struggle within him and questions God?s relationship with the angels in Heaven and doesn?t believe God should be above everyone else. He has many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To start off, we can see that Joe is not a risky investor; he has only invested in individual accounts, certificate of deposits, and his 401k. In addition, he saves an average of 10% of each paycheck (which we will assume to be $5,000 annually based on a $50,000 median household income). As noted earlier, his primary objective is to retire on annual income of $50,000. We can assume then that his goal is to save approximately $1,250,000 . Therefore, if Joe continues to invest $5,000 annually ($416.67 monthly) into his saving account for the next 25 years, his investment, assuming a current balance of $5,000 compounded daily at 0.01% (as currently being offered by WellsFargo), will amount to about $130,170 . Now, Joe has also invested in certificate of deposits (CDs). He reported as simply having been reinvesting his original $5,000 for the past six years. Assuming a stated 0.30% interest rate on a two year CD with daily compounding, his $5,000 investment is now worth about $5,091 . However, he seeks to reinvest this until retirement. She researched the stories of her home town and many other areas of the world. Hurston used this knowledge of myths and stories to help her carry them on to later generations in a form that almost everybody could relate to. Through out all of Zora Neale Hurston s stories, mythology has been a crucial keystone. Her novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God, has been influenced by three different ancient myths: the myths of Ezili Freda, Osiris and Isis, and Aphrodite and Adonis. Janie s love for nature and turbulent relationships comes from the myth of the Haitian Goddess of love, Ezili Freda. In the novel the main character, Janie, is deeply interested in love and ... She ends up having to kill him and watch him die as did Aphrodite with Adonis. One of the largest mythological influences on Their Eyes Were Watching God is the myth of Isis and Osiris. Ishtar is a goddess associated with love and was very callous with the men that she loved. (Pondrom 181). Ishtar fell in love with a God by the name of Tammuz and eventually ended up being responsible for his death (Pondrom 181). After multiple loveless relationships Janie fell in love with Tea Cake. She eventually had to kill him because he had rabies. Later, she was able to restore him to her memory, bringing her peace. Isis and Osiris were in love, but this relationship did not last long once Osiris was killed (Pondrom 181). Instead, Bandura expanded upon these theories and developed the concept of reciprocal determinism, which posits that the person, their environment, and behavior all influence one another. Bandura argued that personal factors affect behavior, which alters the environment, and that environment is not only a cause of behavior, but also an effect of behavior, and these all operate as interlocking determinants of each other (Bandura, 1978, p. 346). His theory posits that human beings have a considerable amount of control over their own behavior, though they may exhibit variations on how effectively they exert it. Bandura believed that individuals can be, essentially, self directed, at least to the extent that they are able to make goals and then track and evaluate their own progress. ...
