Reimbursement In Nursing
Dillon and Hoyston discuss critical steps in establishing reimbursement for a new NP, whether this is
part of an existing practice or a new practice. Initially, each NP needs to apply for a National Provider
Identification Number (NPI). The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) of
1996 mandated a standard of unique identifiers for health care providers and health plans (Dillon
Hoyston, 2014, p.57). While the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services established the National
Plan and Provider Enumerator System to provide practitioners with unique identification. This NP
currently has a NPI number that would require updating for additional practice sites. Additionally, to
ensure reimbursement NPs would want to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Oregon Health Authority lists OHP 3114; OHA 3972; OHA, 3974; OHA 3975 as the forms
required for behavior health PMHNPs to file. At the practice expands to include additional providers,
OHA lists the same required forms for family nurse or other nursing practitioners. There are
provisions for naturopaths and chiropractors to register for provider numbers to request
reimbursement for services provided, should the practice expand and include other professionals in
addition to advanced practice nurses. Rural Health Clinic Status is listed as a #14 provider type should
the additional providers choose to form a Rural Health Clinic focused on wellness, with the joint value
of an integrative health philosophy of practice, as a group rather than co located individual providers.
Dillon and Hoyston (2014) recommend using the http://www.oagh.org/site to credential for most
managed care programs, in one place, especially if you don t have a practice manager to assist with
competing applications and filing. Consequently, understanding how to use coding for practice is
crucial. Dillon and Hoyston (2014) note that the current Procedural Terminology codes

Greek Art History
Chapter 15 primarily includes insightful information about the earliest art all the way through to the
Bronze Age. Art history is a very unique type of history because it allows for people to visualize
earlier life and how our ancestors survived, perceived themselves and their surroundings during
different time periods. This art comes from different eras and locations such as the Paleolithic Period,
Neolithic Period, early civilization, Mesopotamia, and Egypt. Beginning somewhere around 2 million
years prior to today, early hominids, in east central Africa, crafted the first ever tools that could be
used to cut and shape stone. These primitive tools were later refined and developed into sharp objects
for cutting and refined blades for chopping. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These deserts also kept outside architecture away and allowed for the Egyptians to develop their own,
very unique, methods of building. The greatest works of Egyptian civilization are the Great Pyramids,
which are comparable to the size of mountains and severed as tombs for fallen Pharaohs. It was a
common belief in Egypt that in order for someone to reach the afterlife, their body on Earth had to be
preserved and taken care of with respect. All bodies were embalmed as quickly as possible and then
were buried in their tomb to rest for all eternity. Inside these pyramids and tombs, architects spent a
great deal of time and effort building false hallways and walls in an effort to keep people from
reaching the actual resting place of the deceased. We were finally able to get a better understanding as
to why architects tried to keep people from reaching the tombs and why grave robbers were so active
when we discovered the Tomb of Tutankhamen. Tutankhamen, also known as King Tut, died at the
age of 18 and is so well documented because his tomb was discovered in modern times with most of
his valuables left inside. Another tomb that has taught us a great amount about ancient Egypt is the
Tomb of Nebamun. In this tomb there is a wall painting in which the artist applied such attention to
detail that were are able to figure out what plants

School Shootings Have Been Happening All Over The Country
School shootings have been happening all over the country for the past four decades, but it wasn t
until the 1990 s what the impact from experiencing a trauma of this magnitude can do both
psychological and psychically started coming to light as well as creating more national attention for
the arising problem in our nation. In 1998 in small town in Oregon, Kip Kinkel walked into Thurston
High School killing four and wounded twenty three students and in 1999 in Colorado at Columbine
High School Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold walked into school killing fifteen and wounded twenty
one, making it the worst school shooting of the decade. Fast forward to 2007 and we re in Virginia at
the small college campus of Virginia Tech, were Seung Hui Cho opened fire killing thirty two and
wounding many more while then in 2008 at Northern Illinois University Steven Kazmierczak walked
into Cole Hall killing five and injuring twenty one.
These four events have one something in common besides all taking place at a school, they are
considered crises because they are sudden, uncontrollable, and extremely negative events that have the
potential to impact an entire school community (Nickerson, Brock, Reeves, 2006). It is important to
note that crisis events in the school setting, or extreme school violence, do not happen discretely but
that they are rather a process that evolves over time and it s important that there s a team of
individuals trained and ready to handle any and all situations

Oskar And The Eight Blessings Analysis
Oskar and the Eight Blessings was a short picture book originally written by Tanya and Richard
Simon. The play, however, was directed and choreographed by Marcie Shapiro. It took place on
December 8th and 9th, in the Mountain View Center of Performing Arts, and used the second stage.
The play began in Germany, a few days before Hanukkah, and ended in New York, on the first day of
Hanukkah. The first scene showed a young Jewish boy named Oskar (played by a girl) and his parents
lighting the Menorah. Right after this, their house was invaded by the Nazi s. In order to protect their
child, Oskar s parents sent him to New York to live with his aunt. Armed with only a picture of his
relative and barely any money in his pocket, Oskar boarded a ferry and arrived in America. Once
there, he received eight blessings , or people showing compassion during the holiday season.
A young actor named Naomi Shanson played Oskar, and her performance was incredible. The play did
not have many lines; instead, it had a lot of background music. Due to this, everyone in the cast,
especially the main character, had to be extra expressive. Naomi did this amazingly; she conveyed
intense feelings of sadness, wonder, relief and nervousness clearly, while barely speaking. Something
that really struck me was how she used her entire body to show emotion. For example, she swung her
arms, skipped and tilted her head side to side to show excitement when it snowed. In another scene,
Naomi had just been given a

Susan B Anthony In The Women s Suffrage Movement
Susan B. Anthony In The Women s Suffrage Movement
The crucial process of slavery was the biggest economic salvation in the United States for hundreds of
years. With time, many evangelical Americans began to emphasize the struggling lives of slaves in
order for them to be saved through the grace of their mighty God. In the early 1800s, the Second Great
Awakening rose to power to acknowledge the slaves and their rights as children of God. During the
Civil War (1861 1865), the Abolitionist Movement managed to abolish slavery through the 13th
Amendment on December 6, 1865. Later, Congress ratified the 14th Amendment in 1868 that granted
black people the same rights as white people in the nation. The statement, the right to vote ... to any of

In making our demand for Suffrage, we would call your attention to the fact that we represent fifteen
million people one half of the entire population of the country intelligent, virtuous, native born
American citizens; and yet stand outside the pale of political recognition.
The Constitution classes us as free people, and counts us whole persons in the basis of representation;
and yet are we governed without our consent, compelled to pay taxes without appeal, and punished for
violations of law without choice of judge or juror... (Petition for Universal Suffrage, 1865).
On January 29, 1866, this was the first petition presented in Congress out of the hundreds sent.
Anthony s and many other suffragists signatures surprised Congressmen and gave them a sense of the
power of the crusader s movement in suffrage. This petition enabled society to recognize the
commencement of the fight for women s voting rights. The Revolution was a weekly women s rights
newspaper that was published by the National Woman Suffrage Association. The association was
founded by Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton in 1869 to promote constitutional
amendments for women s rights. The newspaper was published between the dates January 8, 1868 and
February 1872. The Revolution was ran in New York City by a small staff of women who believed in

The Role Of Stereotypes In A Pair Of Tickets
Chinese people face many stereotypes form day to day. In A Pair of Tickets and In Broad Daylight
stereotypes of Chinese people such as flaunting poor fashion choices, looking the similar, rude
manners, permanently oversized crowds, the Chinese government is overly forceful, and promiscuous
are all exhibited, but In Broad Daylight upholds these stereotypes when A Pair of Tickets shatters
some and upholds others. In Broad Daylight showcases Chinese women to be promiscuous. Mu Ying
is publicly denounced for having affairs, and her nickname is Old Whore. This stereotype is upheld
throughout the entire story. Mu makes empty promises to change; however, these promises will never
come true. The speech she makes when sticking up for female rights to have affairs is very vulgar for
the time frame in which In Broad Daylight takes place. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Chinese government is said to be forceful and overly aggressive. This is seen in the actions of the
Red Guard. They publicly denounce Mu Ying to embarrass her. They put a sign on her while she was

for the Red Guard. They cut her hair to strip her of her beauty and place cloth shoes on her as a
symbolizing and flaunting her flaw. They also contemplate beheading on top of all of this. The
stereotype is strongly upheld. Other examples of Chinese stereotypes can be found in A Pair of

statement, being color blind to the fact that lemon yellow and pale pink are not good combinations for

Benefits Of A Good Dentist
When I was six years old, I needed to have a tooth pulled. The dentist had my father leave the room,
then, as I kicked and screamed and fought, he proceeded to restrain me with one hand, while he held a
black anesthesia mask over my face with the other. I woke up with a mouth full of bloody gauze and
an intense fear of dentists. For many people, finding a good dentist is a hard task because of past bad
experiences. I often tell people that I d rather give birth than go to the dentist. Since I have seven kids,
born naturally, I know from which I speak. I also know that it is possible to find a great dentist, and
while I am largely over my phobia, I would have no compunction about switching dentists if I felt that

A Good Dentist Will Help You Heal A good dentist will do everything in her power to make certain
that you heal, not only from your procedure, but from your past. She will nurture you as you come to
trust in her ability, caring about your personal experience as much as she cares about your teeth. A
good dentist is worth his weight in gold teeth. Ask friends you trust for recommendations, and
remember that, since you are paying him, you are the boss. If you do not feel at home with one dentist,
keep looking until you find a good fit so that you are not left worrying about good fitting dentures in
the future. Conquer Your Fear of the Dentist http://www.saveyoursmile.com I have always been that

where you stay You never know when you may need to see the dentist and at what time of the day.
Getting a dentist close to where stay or work would be more convenient for you. You wouldn t need to

My Experience Abroad
What was the best part of your experience abroad?
I don t have enough positive words to describe my experience abroad. Being forced to adapt to a
different academic style made me grow as a student, and being exposed to different cultures has
opened me up to a world I never could have imagined. I was fortunate enough to travel to many
different European countries during my time abroad, and each one was more incredible than the last. I
think the best part of my experience abroad was living in London. I absolutely loved city life. The
tube has to be one of the world s greatest inventions, and it s incredible how small and homey such a
big place can feel when everything is easily connected.
What did you dislike about it?
Overall, my experience abroad was amazing. If I had to pick something to complain about, it would
likely be the third party program that I was a part of. Many students, along with myself, experienced
communication issues with the program provider, and the company didn t often accept responsibility
for the mistakes that they made throughout my time abroad. That being said, these incidents didn t
affect my experience enough that I regret choosing their program. I think in the future, I would just
advise other students to ask more questions and get everything in writing to avoid these problems.
How has your study abroad experience contributed to your development academically and personally?
While studying at City, University of London, I was fortunate

Keats s Reflection Of Autumn, The Season Of Fog And Growth
The poet speaks of autumn, the season of fog and production. The first line portrays autumn as a
period of growth. Autumn is a close friend of the maturing sun. The word maturing is used to describe
the shorter daylight of winter. Together, autumn and the sun help the vines that wrap around thatched
roofs bear fruit. The image of growth persists in the following lines; the poet describes plants and
fruits bending or changing shape in reaction to their development: trees bend with the weight of
ripening apples, gourds grow in size, and kernels develop in the centers of hazelnuts. Flowers continue
to multiply until the bees feel as if warm days will never end. Summer has made its harvest so
bountiful that it s described as o er brimmed or bursting. In the second stanza, the poet directly
addresses autumn. To Keats, autumn is a figure that can be found in the middle of its job, which is to
facilitate nature s growth. Autumn can be discovered sitting in a granary, or storehouse for threshed
grain, the blowing wind lifting autumn s hair. Someone might also stumble across autumn asleep
outside on a half harvested trench, made drowsy by the scent of poppies. Autumn s scythe is unused
against the next line of flowers. The poet additionally compares autumn to a gleaner who carries the
leftovers of the harvest on top of her head while she crosses a stream. Another activity of autumn is to
watch the juice being squeezed from apples for hours. The third stanza opens with the

Babylon Revisited Quotes
In F. Scott Fitzgerald s Babylon Revisited, Charlie is considered a tragic figure. A tragic figure is a
protagonist (main character) that does not overcome his or her conflict in the story. For Charlie, his
main goal in his trip to Paris is to get his daughter, Honoria, back. Honoria lives with Charlie s sister
and brother in law, Marion and Lincoln. At the end of the story, Charlie fails to get his daughter back.
Charlie is the tragic hero because he suffered a fail both economically and socially. In the economic
sense, he lost a lot of money in the economic crash. In the social sense, he lost his daughter and wife
due to alcoholism and excessive partying.
Charlie s hubris also fails, making him a tragic figure. Hubris is excessive

Discrimination Against Homosexuals
1.0 Topic and Chosen Report
Discrimination is defined as the unjust or prejudicial treatment towards certain groups or categories of
a specified entity. Encompassed within the scope of discrimination is the pertinent subject matter,
Discrimination Against Homosexuals in Today s Youth. As the dynamic generation of the current
world grows exponentially vocal with their standpoints, certain folds in the society today express their
negative outlook pertaining to homosexuals, leading to the ostracized generalization of the already
shunned minority. Therefore, the subject matter of discrimination against homosexuals is rather apt as
a form of oppression.

Dr. Friedman M (2014) emphasizes that although considerable gains have been made in the
acceptance of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) into the general community, biasness
is still prevalent and has very notable mental health consequences. This is due to the fact that
homosexuals generally receive greater amounts of discrimination than heterosexuals (American
Journal of Public Health 2011). A succinct paradigm to this includes a recent study which showed that
homosexuals are more likely to commit suicide as a result of discrimination, when compared to
heterosexual. This disparity is due to the discrimination and prejudice faced by homosexuals
(DeAngelis 2002, Vol 33, No.2, Pg46). Discrimination against homosexuals takes a toll on the
individuals targeted and as the evidence illustrates, discrimination in any form ushers in a strafing
array of detrimental effects to the individuals

Goodyear Co Essay
Throughout the years Goodyear has been distributing its tires only through the company owned
Goodyear Auto Service Centers and franchised Goodyear Tire dealers. The decision of Goodyear
Company to broaden its distribution to Sears Auto Centers will have several advantages and
disadvantages related to this action.
Advantages: 1) Increase in sales in the short term, which will create an increase of market share in the
long term. Goodyear s sales are declined because of multi branding among mass merchandisers by
warehouse membership club stores and discount tire retailers. Also, customers are price sensitive and
they seek inexpensive tires at places such as Sears. 2) Expanded distribution. Sears has a strong
market presence and can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2) Goodyear s Tires brand image maybe hurt. Due to the fact that Sears sells mostly tires that are not
premium quality, consumers may start to think Goodyear as a moderate brand and not as a high
quality product as it has been positioned. 3) Consumers of tires are becoming more price conscious
and less brand loyal, thus they easily proceed into brand switching and erode the importance of
securing replacement sales through original equipment sales to vehicle manufactures. 4) Dealer
sponsored private label tires accounted for 15% to 20% of total replacement tire sales in the US in
1991.Many dealers are able to influence choices and push their private label tires to obtain higher
margins.
The above decision of Goodyear Company to distribute its tires to Sears Auto Centers should be
carefully implemented. As we know Goodyear tires have been positioned as high quality products and
as the advertising slogan communicates, The best tires in the world have Goodyear written all over
them . This means that well studied actions should be taken when it comes to distribute to places such
as Sears Auto Centers. The customers that go to department stores to replace their tires, they are not
really knowledgeable about the several types of tires. Thus, they choose on the basis of price or others
patronize with their dealers. As mentioned earlier, consumers are not brand loyal and they are
becoming more

Ptolemy s geocentric model explained that the planets moved backwards because the planets moved
around in small orbit called the epicycle that revolved in much larger circles around Earth. 17) How
did Copernicus heliocentric model explain why the planets sometimes move backwards? Copernicus
heliocentric model explained that the planets sometimes move backwards by coming up with the idea
that Earth and all the other planets circled the sun. He also concluded that if a planet was closer to the
sun the great the orbital speed it would have. Kepler s 3rd law, p^2 = a^3, applies to all objects
orbiting our Sun. In this law p is the period of time it takes an object to orbit the Sun, as measured in
years, and a is the semi major axis of this planet s orbit (its average distance to the Sun), as measured
in AU.Using algebra we can solve for either p = a^(3/2) or a = p^(2/3). 18) Suppose we discover an

Taking a Look at Truman Capote
CAPOTE By all the accounts, Truman Capote was a mysterious man, being unhappy and self
absorbed even in some parties he over drink himself to death. In his masterpiece writing In Cold
Blood he invented a new sort of writing, the non fiction novel which was criticized on the basis of his
emotional manipulation of a condemned murderer with whom he seems to fall in love. Capote is
actually the dramatization of his famous writing In Cold Blood which covers the territory that the
movie is based on the subject of Truman Capote s attempt to somehow or other create the genre of non
fictional fiction. Capote illustrates a portrait of the interest of author in the two cold blooded killers
especially in the character of Perry Smith. (Brevet, 2009) By reading the masterpiece and then
watching the movie, audience can easily judge that Capote definitely manipulated Smith by bounding
his actions and making him realized compelled to himself. For several times, Capote went out of his
ways in order to save Smith s life. First it happened when Smith was in prison and Capote visited him
and then tried his best to bring him back to life. Then he paid for a lawyer I order to offer appeal to
Smith and Hickok s death sentence. Capote s contribution was major in contrast so ultimately Smith
felt obligated to repay him in some honorable way. Not only Capote was interested in Smith but Smith
also admired him throughout the story and even he did not want to disappoint him in any way. Just to

Damnation of a Canyon
The Damnation of a Canyon By Edward Abbey Not many people know of the used to be 150 mile
excursion that the Glen Canyon had to offer. Not many people know how to sail a raft down a river for
a week. Not many people know how to interact with nature and the animals that come with it. We
seem to come from a world that is dependent on time and consumed in money. Edward Abbey is what
you would call an extreme environmentalist. He talks about how it was an environmental disaster to
place a dam in which to create Lake Powell, a reservoir formed on the border of Utah and Arizona. He
is one of the few that have actually seen the way Glen Canyon was before they changed it into a
reservoir. Today, that lake is used by over a million ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He seems to argue the ‘wheelchair ethos of the wealthy, upper middle class American slob . Well,
excuse the people who were born paralyzed from the waist down, and would like to experience the

people who visit Lake Powell on an unscientific basis, upper middle class American slobs. So does
that mean that a lower class family doesn t have the money to do such recreational activity? And that
we are slobs because we like to view nature in its own environment? One last point in which should be
heard is that, Edward Abbey states that now that the river is closed up people cannot get a raft, spend
about forty dollars, give up 7 10 days, and rely only on the goodness of fresh catfish just to float down
a river. In today s society people don t have time. We would rather spend the hundreds of dollars to get
a nice speedboat, buy real food, and only take maybe the weekend to enjoy the great outdoors. We
enjoy the freshness of a shower everyday, going to the bathroom with flushable device, eating food
with the right bit of garlic taste, in other words the comfort of home. Even if they did take down the
dam and offer such rafting trips, do you honestly think a person could leave their cell phone at home?
In conclusion, I do think that Edward Abbey made a great

Building A Successful Lead Generation Campaign
One of the main objectives (and one of the most important) of lead generation services is to generate
leads through business to business marketing. This is also known as B2B marketing. It involves
classifying prospective customers and qualifying their probability to buy in advance of making a sales
call. The purpose of a lead generation can vary from either driving sales leads or sign up, but in the
end they have the same goal and that to get prospects to raise their hands. Before we go into how to
build a successful lead generation campaign, we need to understand a few basic terms. Let s review
these terms below. Basic Terms of Lead Generation Lead: A prospect that has some level of potential
in becoming a customer. The individual usually shows interests and provides his/her information.
Prospect: A person regarded as likely to succeed or as a potential customer, client, etc. Lead
Generation: is the initiation of consumer interest or inquiry into products or services of a business.
Lead Generation Campaign: is the process of capturing and simulating interest in a service or product
for purpose of developing sales. This includes a strategy using a particular media source and an offer
to create inbound leads. Nurturing: The process of moving an unqualified inquiry to the point where it
becomes qualified. Some inquiries qualify right away. Many, however, need some nurturing through
constant contact and direct communications until the prospect is ready to be

Schizophrenia and Auditory processing Essay
Auditory Processing and Schizophrenia Auditory hallucination is a fundamental presentation observed
in patients suffering from schizophrenia. It is one of the frequently occurring symptoms considered to
be disabling in schizophrenia, but despite vast and numerous organized studies undertaken in this area
in order to comprehend the pathophysiology of auditory hallucination, little success has been realized,
and it remains to be complex in research, understanding, and expressing the knowledge accrued
(Kaprinis, 2008.) The auditory processing in schizophrenia seems to be different from that of normal
individuals because patients inflicted with this mental illness complain of voices deep inside their
heads. The voices are described as coming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The auditory nature in schizophrenics is associated with a possible deficit in the auditory processing.
The deficit can either be due to the dysfunction of the sensory aspect of the process of the auditory
information processing centers in the brain. The earlier studies employed dichotic tasks of listening to
establish the site for the dysfunction causing the auditory deficit, but they yielded variable results.
Other studies have gone further to confirm that schizophrenia auditory processing deficits result in the
reduced advantage of the right ear in auditory sensory modality as compared to the healthy
individuals. However, for dichotic tasks involving quick responses four or three digit pairs in
succession, schizophrenic patients demonstrated right ear advantage as compared to the healthy
individuals (Kaprinis, 2008). The findings can confirm that the dysfunction in the auditory processing
is in different levels; hence, the variability in the results. It is vital to understand that schizophrenic

Comparing The Land Ethic Vs. The Death Of The Moth
The Land Ethic vs The Death of the Moth The Earth does not belong to us: We belong to the Earth
Marlee Matlin. In Aldo Leopold s essay, The Land Ethic , there are several overwhelming examples
that illustrate why we as humans would believe we own the Earth when we really don t. Paradoxically,
looking at Virginia Woolf s work, The Death of a Moth , one would come to believe that none of that
matters because all living beings will suffer the fate of death. However, both works show that there
can be a reconciliation between a certain kind of symbiosis: man vs man, land vs land, or man vs land.
The Death of a Moth may show that all life form end eventually, but The Land Ethic convinces readers
that there can be ways to maintain balance in the land that can prevent death or ameliorate life for all
before death. In both works, we can observe the considerable similarities and differences, the balance
between what is ethical and logical in how humans use the land, and the management of life and
assurance of death for all life forms. The Land Ethic mainly focuses on how all beings should have
value and respect for one another. Leopold states that the land is not only comprised of humans
beings, but also other portions of the Earth; of which ranges from the soil and water to the plants and
animals. The Olabisi 2 Death of the Moth conveys the message that not a single being can compete
with death; it focuses on death s

is a transition metal in the middle of the periodic table. The symbol for copper is Cu , which comes
from the Latin word cuprum, which came from the Latin word for the island of Cyprus, where copper
was found. Copper can be found as a metal in the ground. It is found in small amounts in living things.
Some mollusks and arthropods have blue blood because they have copper in their blood. Copper may
be the oldest metal in use, as ancient copper tools have been found. Copper is used in electrical wiring,

President George Bush Essay
George W. Bush was born in New Haven, Connecticut on July 6, 1946. Just like other presidents, he
had his good times and his bad times. He was the forty third president of The United States. Because
of those who had preceded him in The Oval Office, he understood the importance of being the
Commander in Chief. In all of the events that happened during his presidency he never gave up on his
country (Biography; Gale: Vol 21). The Bush family moved to Texas when George was only two years
old. George Herbert Walker Bush, George s father, had just graduated from Yale and wanted to
attempt a living in the oil business. The family moved to a rough part of Texas called Odessa, and

He became the president of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and enjoyed drinking, playing football,
and dating. His grades were not his main priority (Biography; Gale: Vol. 21). Bush admired his history
professor Thomas T. Lyons at Yale. This admiration led George to major in history. George had very
little intellectual curiosity and was not interested in politics. However, some of his classmates believe
that being a stickball commissioner and the head cheerleader were pre political experiences. While he
was a well known figure, there were many times he faced conflicts at school for being a male
cheerleader, and some agree that this prepared him for the world of politics. Bush himself claims that
his student activities qualified him for the White House. After he attended Andover, he persistently
demonstrated the same leadership: not a powerful intellect or dazzling policy but rather an exceptional
ability to make friends, work a crowd, cheer people up and take them all in his direction (The New
York Times Company). When he was the governor of Texas, he worked with both Democrats and
Republicans, and built successful coalitions which led him to become a popular leader without
becoming engaged in policy details (The New York Times Company). George Bush, the forty first

Analysis Of A Doll s House
A Doll s House is a famous three act play based in the mid/late 1800s. Written by author Henrik Ibsen,
the play focused on the changing times for women of Norway (Ibsen, H, 1992). Throughout the play
the typical early 1800s Norwegian family is described one where the husband is dominant in all
aspects, and the wife merely follows his requests and tends to the children (M., M., M., A., n.d.). From
the beginning of the play to the end, main character Nora gradually hints toward being so unhappy
with her situation that she would eventually go against social norms and leave her husband and
children to make a life for herself (Ibsen, H, 1992). A Doll s House incorporated several new concepts
for that time period such as prose and realism all while employing the themes and structures of a
classical tragedy. A Doll s House is so unique because it was one of the first plays to be written in
prose. Merriam Webster s definition of prose is, a literary medium distinguished from poetry
especially by its greater irregularity and variety of rhythm and its closer correspondence to the patterns
of everyday speech (Prose., n.d.). Similarly, prose is simply everyday talk. Most plays were not
written in this relatable way that we are used to now. For example, in that time it was uncommon for a
play to have phrases like, I am in a silly mood today, as Nora stated (Ibsen, H, 1992). A Doll s House s
English was more dumbed down than other plays in that time period, which were all

An Unquiet Mind Reflection
Reflection of the Book An Unquiet Mind In her book, An Unquiet Mind, Kay Jamison instills an
understanding of bipolar disorder from two opposing perspectives. Initially, Jameson tells a tale of
herself as a long term victim of bipolar. It is from her description that a reader is highlighted about the
various avenues through which the condition attacks. Besides exploring the disorder as the victim, the
book as well depicts Jamison as the healed. That is, she gives an account of her life as an individual
who survived the grips of bipolar disorder and became a healer (psychotherapist and a lecturer)
instead. Reflecting on Jamison s work An Unquiet Mind automatically triggers the desire of the reader
to unearth more about the author, her context, and diagnosis of the bipolar disorder. The Enjoyable
Aspect It is impossible not to enjoy An Unquiet Mind based on how it explores the topics that people
suffering from bipolar disorder tend not to touch. That is, Jamison employs the writing to tell people
about her life as a victim of a mental health condition that is characterized by stigma everywhere. In
depicting such an account, the author explores the actual nature of the disease, how it affects its
victims, and how victims can fight it. Basically, the storyline gives a lifeline to people who suffer from
bipolar disorder, and who have lost hope in achieving their dreams in life. The most fulfilling aspect of
the reading features the fact that the author is able to identify a problem and at the same time offer a
practical solution to the problem from a personal perspective, something that is rare to come by in real
life medical practicing. Simply put, it is enjoyable to read Jamison s An Unquiet Mind. Diagnoses The
reading offers lessons about the diagnosis of bipolar disorder primarily. To a reader, placing emphasis
on Jamison s diagnosis can lead to answers about curing the condition, which is the goal of any
interested individual. It is worth noting that Jamison was diagnosed with bipolar II disorder. Such an
assertion follows her own revelation that she suffered from the condition often, and in a long periodic
duration while growing up (Jamison, 1995). Further, bipolar II disorder is characterized by instances

Analysis Of Francois Truffaut And Alfred Hitchcock s Film...
Anyone who is even vaguely aware with film usually has a favorite director. Why? What distinguishes
one director from another? A director is the person who determines and realizes on the screen an
artistic vision of the screenplay; casts the actors and directs their performances; works closely with
production design in creating the look of the film...and in most cases, supervises all postproduction
activity, especially editing (Barsam and Monahan 496). Clearly, the director of a film is lead visionary
in how the film is made. But what makes some directors truly memorable and instantly recognizable?
Those directors take advantage of all different kinds creative possibilities and signatures to become the
true author of the film, also known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alfred Hitchcock also used cinematography in a uniquely stylizing way. Hitchcock not only uses the
camera to create dramatic irony, but he also uses the camera to lie to the audience and create anxious
suspense. For example, in his film Psycho, when Marion is in the shower Hitchcock frames the scenes
very tightly. Marion is in a confined and very personal space. This makes her incredibly vulnerable.
Then Hitchcock heightens the suspense by creating dramatic irony with the reveal of a shadowy figure
closing in on Marion, unbeknownst to her. This creates a lot of anxiety for the audience, knowing the
protagonist is vulnerable and in danger with no way of altering the inevitable. Hitchcock then
manipulates the audience by revealing a brief silhouette of an old lady as our shower killer. Hitchcock
uses this reveal to lie to the audience, he makes the audience think they have more inside knowledge
confirming their already growing suspicions, when in reality the audience is misled entirely and the
murderer was Norman all along. The way Hitchcock uses the camera to reveal both inside information
and misleading information truly keeps the viewer engaged and not knowing what to believe until the
truth is finally revealed. By using this unique technique of controlling the audience by only showing
what he wants you to see, Hitchcock masterfully defies expectations and creates suspense. Both

Purpose And Symbolism Of The Leather Belt
The object that I chose to discuss is the Leather Belt. This object came from one of the most well

is, located within the four states of Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado also known as the Four
Corners of the southwestern United States. Many people in the region still speak the Navajo language,
as well as English. The Leather Belt was originally made of leather and strapped with eight silver

Mexicans. Within each shell, there is a silver coin design that has been stamped onto the concha. In

When the Mission was initially constructed, many people would depend on the Mission for food and

Gender Roles In Kate Chopin s The Awakening
Kate Chopin s novel, The Awakening, was widely and harshly criticized at the time of its publication
in 1899. Critics felt such outrage over the novel, that many would call it morbid and vulgar. One of the
reasons that The Awakening faced such strong moral outcry was because of its depiction of female
sexuality and the gender roles of the time. At the turn of the 20th century women were expected to be
mothers and wives, not to lead their own lives full desires and dreams. Women of the Victorian era
were not allowed to be sexual beings, nor were they allowed to explore their who they were without
men. The male gender role at the time dictated that men not have close relationships with women, that
they were completely free to do as they wished ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adele exemplifies the perfect Victorian woman. Adele is depicts the perfect mother who would do
anything for her children. They were designed for winter wear (Chopin 52). This shows Madame
Ratignolle s perfection as a mother because she is thinking about the future needs of her children. In
fact, Adele is shown to be so caught up in being the perfect Victorian woman that she is unable to
understand that she could be more than just a mother and a wife. But a woman who would give her
life for her children could do no more than that (97). This is important because it illustrates that Adele
is so absorbed in the typical female gender role that she is unable to separate herself and her identity
from it. Madame Ratignolle s strict adherence to the Victorian gender roles is used by Chopin to show
how old fashioned and outdated they are, while also demonstrating the way in which society clings to
them. Throughout the novel the contrast between Adele and Edna is shown as a way of criticizing the
lack of freedom women have in society due to the gender

Isolation In Othello
The most important and defining theme in Othello and O is jealousy, while isolation is also a major
component of the texts, jealousy more or less defines the two texts in each of their separate contexts.
The concept of Jealousy takes on differing forms in each of the texts parturitated by each texts vastly
antithetical contexts. Shakespeare explores the themes of Jealousy and Isolation in his text Othello
with use of various literary techniques in relation to his own worldly and societal context. Tim Blake

Hugo s dream to take flight and soar above everything and everyone and his admittance that he knows
you re not supposed to be jealous brings closure and responders are able to gain some insight into the
reasons behind Hugo s betrayal of Odin s trust. Tim Blake Nelson effectively utilises imagery to show
the corruption of jealousy. A prime example is the use of the recurring visual tree motif. From the
beginnings of the text, responders are exposed to images of straight, healthy trees that are used to
portray the unsoiled minds of the characters. However, once Hugo s villainous plot develops and the
jealousy develops, the trees outside of the boarding facility become twisted, deformed and a strange
material starts to corrupt the coherence of some shots. When Odin spies Mike conversing with Desi
and in the mise en scene, a strange material can be seen in the top right corner blocking the view of

corruption of Odin s mind that questions Desi s fidelity spawned from jealousy, which eventually

Nociceptors Essay
Nociceptors are specialized peripheral sensory neurons that have protective role against damaging
stimuli at the skin. They detect extremes in temperature, pressure and harmful chemicals. However
persistent pain syndromes offer no biological advantage and cause suffering and distress. Pathological
pain caused by inflammation is perceived because of sensitization of peripheral and central
nociceptive neurons.
There is considerable evidence that the development and maintenance of persistent pain states after
injury result from longterm changes in nociceptive processing in the spinal cord, as well as from
increased activation of primary afferent nociceptors. For example, in the setting of prolonged

thou grow st, In one of thine, from that which thou departest; And that fresh blood which youngly thou

fast as you will decline, you can also grow through one of your own children. The youth or DNA that
you pass on to a child, is you as a young child. You call that child your own, because that was once
you when you were younger. Herein lives wisdom, beauty, and increase; Without this, folly, age, and
cold decay. If all were minded so, the times should cease, And threescore year would make the world

you will only have foolishness, age, and the decay of death. If everyone was like you, the human race

somewhere in the early 1900 s. I think it would make a difference to the story if it were set somewhere
else, only because if the sick girl was brought to like a hospital for example, maybe she would have
been diagnosed and helped sooner without all the hassle that occurred at the house. The diction of the

So it didn t effect the point of the story. Something that really puzzled me in the story was when the
first old lady ran after Marian in the hall and sort of grabbed her by her hair and asked her for a penny.
I didn t understand that point and I don t think it made much sense to the story. The conflict in the
story is when Marian actually goes into the old women s room. The conflict isn t very clear, but its
very obvious there is a problem. The first old women is very outgoing, and the second old women, is
angry, and bitter. So there s a bit of clashing going on with them and it shows when they spoke to each
other. The events that led up to the plot are Marian going into the Old women s home, being in the
room and communicating with them til finally she gets so scared she runs out. The theme of this story
is also irony. Everything in the story conveyed the theme irony, only because everything seemed like
the opposite of what it should have been. For instance when Marian goes to the old women s home for
charity. The purpose of charity is to help people who cant help themselves, or to do something nice for
someone. In the story, Marian isn t doing it to be helpful, she is only visiting the old women for extra
points for her campfire girls. Another example of the irony was the old women constantly disagreed or
contradicted each other. One old women was overly optimistic and ignorant of Addies constant
negativity and rudeness towards her. You would expect

  • 2. Reimbursement In Nursing Dillon and Hoyston discuss critical steps in establishing reimbursement for a new NP, whether this is part of an existing practice or a new practice. Initially, each NP needs to apply for a National Provider Identification Number (NPI). The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) of 1996 mandated a standard of unique identifiers for health care providers and health plans (Dillon Hoyston, 2014, p.57). While the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services established the National Plan and Provider Enumerator System to provide practitioners with unique identification. This NP currently has a NPI number that would require updating for additional practice sites. Additionally, to ensure reimbursement NPs would want to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are provisions for naturopaths and chiropractors to register for provider numbers to request reimbursement for services provided, should the practice expand and include other professionals in addition to advanced practice nurses. Rural Health Clinic Status is listed as a #14 provider type should the additional providers choose to form a Rural Health Clinic focused on wellness, with the joint value of an integrative health philosophy of practice, as a group rather than co located individual providers. • 4. Greek Art History Chapter 15 primarily includes insightful information about the earliest art all the way through to the Bronze Age. Art history is a very unique type of history because it allows for people to visualize earlier life and how our ancestors survived, perceived themselves and their surroundings during different time periods. This art comes from different eras and locations such as the Paleolithic Period, Neolithic Period, early civilization, Mesopotamia, and Egypt. Beginning somewhere around 2 million years prior to today, early hominids, in east central Africa, crafted the first ever tools that could be used to cut and shape stone. These primitive tools were later refined and developed into sharp objects for cutting and refined blades for chopping. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These deserts also kept outside architecture away and allowed for the Egyptians to develop their own, very unique, methods of building. The greatest works of Egyptian civilization are the Great Pyramids, which are comparable to the size of mountains and severed as tombs for fallen Pharaohs. It was a common belief in Egypt that in order for someone to reach the afterlife, their body on Earth had to be preserved and taken care of with respect. All bodies were embalmed as quickly as possible and then were buried in their tomb to rest for all eternity. Inside these pyramids and tombs, architects spent a great deal of time and effort building false hallways and walls in an effort to keep people from reaching the actual resting place of the deceased. We were finally able to get a better understanding as to why architects tried to keep people from reaching the tombs and why grave robbers were so active when we discovered the Tomb of Tutankhamen. Tutankhamen, also known as King Tut, died at the age of 18 and is so well documented because his tomb was discovered in modern times with most of his valuables left inside. Another tomb that has taught us a great amount about ancient Egypt is the Tomb of Nebamun. School Shootings Have Been Happening All Over The Country School shootings have been happening all over the country for the past four decades, but it wasn t until the 1990 s what the impact from experiencing a trauma of this magnitude can do both psychological and psychically started coming to light as well as creating more national attention for the arising problem in our nation. In 1998 in small town in Oregon, Kip Kinkel walked into Thurston High School killing four and wounded twenty three students and in 1999 in Colorado at Columbine High School Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold walked into school killing fifteen and wounded twenty one, making it the worst school shooting of the decade. Fast forward to 2007 and we re in Virginia at the small college campus of Virginia Tech, were Seung Hui Cho opened fire killing thirty two and wounding many more while then in 2008 at Northern Illinois University Steven Kazmierczak walked into Cole Hall killing five and injuring twenty one. These four events have one something in common besides all taking place at a school, they are considered crises because they are sudden, uncontrollable, and extremely negative events that have the potential to impact an entire school community (Nickerson, Brock, Reeves, 2006). It is important to note that crisis events in the school setting, or extreme school violence, do not happen discretely but that they are rather a process that evolves over time and it s important that there s a team of individuals trained and ready to handle any and all situations ... • 6. Oskar And The Eight Blessings Analysis Oskar and the Eight Blessings was a short picture book originally written by Tanya and Richard Simon. The play, however, was directed and choreographed by Marcie Shapiro. It took place on December 8th and 9th, in the Mountain View Center of Performing Arts, and used the second stage. The play began in Germany, a few days before Hanukkah, and ended in New York, on the first day of Hanukkah. The first scene showed a young Jewish boy named Oskar (played by a girl) and his parents lighting the Menorah. Right after this, their house was invaded by the Nazi s. In order to protect their child, Oskar s parents sent him to New York to live with his aunt. Armed with only a picture of his relative and barely any money in his pocket, Oskar boarded a ferry and arrived in America. Once there, he received eight blessings , or people showing compassion during the holiday season. A young actor named Naomi Shanson played Oskar, and her performance was incredible. The play did not have many lines; instead, it had a lot of background music. Due to this, everyone in the cast, especially the main character, had to be extra expressive. Naomi did this amazingly; she conveyed intense feelings of sadness, wonder, relief and nervousness clearly, while barely speaking. Something that really struck me was how she used her entire body to show emotion. For example, she swung her arms, skipped and tilted her head side to side to show excitement when it snowed. In another scene, Naomi had just been given a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Anthony In The Women s Suffrage Movement The crucial process of slavery was the biggest economic salvation in the United States for hundreds of years. With time, many evangelical Americans began to emphasize the struggling lives of slaves in order for them to be saved through the grace of their mighty God. In the early 1800s, the Second Great Awakening rose to power to acknowledge the slaves and their rights as children of God. During the Civil War (1861 1865), the Abolitionist Movement managed to abolish slavery through the 13th Amendment on December 6, 1865. Later, Congress ratified the 14th Amendment in 1868 that granted black people the same rights as white people in the nation. The statement, the right to vote ... to any of ... (Petition for Universal Suffrage, 1865). On January 29, 1866, this was the first petition presented in Congress out of the hundreds sent. Anthony s and many other suffragists signatures surprised Congressmen and gave them a sense of the power of the crusader s movement in suffrage. This petition enabled society to recognize the commencement of the fight for women s voting rights. In A Pair of Tickets and In Broad Daylight stereotypes of Chinese people such as flaunting poor fashion choices, looking the similar, rude manners, permanently oversized crowds, the Chinese government is overly forceful, and promiscuous are all exhibited, but In Broad Daylight upholds these stereotypes when A Pair of Tickets shatters some and upholds others. In Broad Daylight showcases Chinese women to be promiscuous. Mu Ying is publicly denounced for having affairs, and her nickname is Old Whore. This stereotype is upheld throughout the entire story. Mu makes empty promises to change; however, these promises will never come true. The dentist had my father leave the room, then, as I kicked and screamed and fought, he proceeded to restrain me with one hand, while he held a black anesthesia mask over my face with the other. I woke up with a mouth full of bloody gauze and an intense fear of dentists. For many people, finding a good dentist is a hard task because of past bad experiences. I often tell people that I d rather give birth than go to the dentist. Since I have seven kids, born naturally, I know from which I speak. • 10. My Experience Abroad What was the best part of your experience abroad? I don t have enough positive words to describe my experience abroad. Being forced to adapt to a different academic style made me grow as a student, and being exposed to different cultures has opened me up to a world I never could have imagined. I was fortunate enough to travel to many different European countries during my time abroad, and each one was more incredible than the last. I think the best part of my experience abroad was living in London. I absolutely loved city life. The tube has to be one of the world s greatest inventions, and it s incredible how small and homey such a big place can feel when everything is easily connected. What did you dislike about it? Overall, my experience abroad was amazing. If I had to pick something to complain about, it would likely be the third party program that I was a part of. Many students, along with myself, experienced communication issues with the program provider, and the company didn t often accept responsibility for the mistakes that they made throughout my time abroad. That being said, these incidents didn t affect my experience enough that I regret choosing their program. I think in the future, I would just advise other students to ask more questions and get everything in writing to avoid these problems. How has your study abroad experience contributed to your development academically and personally? While studying at City, University of London, I was fortunate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Keats s Reflection Of Autumn, The Season Of Fog And Growth The poet speaks of autumn, the season of fog and production. The first line portrays autumn as a period of growth. Autumn is a close friend of the maturing sun. The word maturing is used to describe the shorter daylight of winter. Together, autumn and the sun help the vines that wrap around thatched roofs bear fruit. The image of growth persists in the following lines; the poet describes plants and fruits bending or changing shape in reaction to their development: trees bend with the weight of ripening apples, gourds grow in size, and kernels develop in the centers of hazelnuts. Flowers continue to multiply until the bees feel as if warm days will never end. Summer has made its harvest so bountiful that it s described as o er brimmed or bursting. In the second stanza, the poet directly addresses autumn. To Keats, autumn is a figure that can be found in the middle of its job, which is to facilitate nature s growth. Autumn can be discovered sitting in a granary, or storehouse for threshed grain, the blowing wind lifting autumn s hair. Someone might also stumble across autumn asleep outside on a half harvested trench, made drowsy by the scent of poppies. Autumn s scythe is unused against the next line of flowers. The poet additionally compares autumn to a gleaner who carries the leftovers of the harvest on top of her head while she crosses a stream. Another activity of autumn is to watch the juice being squeezed from apples for hours. The third stanza opens with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Babylon Revisited Quotes In F. Scott Fitzgerald s Babylon Revisited, Charlie is considered a tragic figure. A tragic figure is a protagonist (main character) that does not overcome his or her conflict in the story. For Charlie, his main goal in his trip to Paris is to get his daughter, Honoria, back. Honoria lives with Charlie s sister and brother in law, Marion and Lincoln. At the end of the story, Charlie fails to get his daughter back. Charlie is the tragic hero because he suffered a fail both economically and socially. In the economic sense, he lost a lot of money in the economic crash. Homosexual Issues Analysis Report Issue Analysis Report Discrimination Against Homosexuals 1.0 Topic and Chosen Report Discrimination is defined as the unjust or prejudicial treatment towards certain groups or categories of a specified entity. Encompassed within the scope of discrimination is the pertinent subject matter, Discrimination Against Homosexuals in Today s Youth. As the dynamic generation of the current world grows exponentially vocal with their standpoints, certain folds in the society today express their negative outlook pertaining to homosexuals, leading to the ostracized generalization of the already shunned minority. Therefore, the subject matter of discrimination against homosexuals is rather apt as a form of oppression. 1.1 Critical Evaluation of Findings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dr. Friedman M (2014) emphasizes that although considerable gains have been made in the acceptance of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) into the general community, biasness is still prevalent and has very notable mental health consequences. This is due to the fact that homosexuals generally receive greater amounts of discrimination than heterosexuals (American Journal of Public Health 2011). A succinct paradigm to this includes a recent study which showed that homosexuals are more likely to commit suicide as a result of discrimination, when compared to heterosexual. This disparity is due to the discrimination and prejudice faced by homosexuals (DeAngelis 2002, Vol 33, No.2, Pg46). Discrimination against homosexuals takes a toll on the individuals targeted and as the evidence illustrates, discrimination in any form ushers in a strafing array of detrimental effects to the individuals ... The decision of Goodyear Company to broaden its distribution to Sears Auto Centers will have several advantages and disadvantages related to this action. Advantages: 1) Increase in sales in the short term, which will create an increase of market share in the long term. Goodyear s sales are declined because of multi branding among mass merchandisers by warehouse membership club stores and discount tire retailers. Also, customers are price sensitive and they seek inexpensive tires at places such as Sears. 2) Expanded distribution. Sears has a strong market presence and can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2) Goodyear s Tires brand image maybe hurt. Due to the fact that Sears sells mostly tires that are not premium quality, consumers may start to think Goodyear as a moderate brand and not as a high quality product as it has been positioned. 3) Consumers of tires are becoming more price conscious and less brand loyal, thus they easily proceed into brand switching and erode the importance of securing replacement sales through original equipment sales to vehicle manufactures. 4) Dealer sponsored private label tires accounted for 15% to 20% of total replacement tire sales in the US in 1991.Many dealers are able to influence choices and push their private label tires to obtain higher margins. The above decision of Goodyear Company to distribute its tires to Sears Auto Centers should be carefully implemented. As we know Goodyear tires have been positioned as high quality products and as the advertising slogan communicates, The best tires in the world have Goodyear written all over them . This means that well studied actions should be taken when it comes to distribute to places such as Sears Auto Centers. The customers that go to department stores to replace their tires, they are not really knowledgeable about the several types of tires. Building A Successful Lead Generation Campaign One of the main objectives (and one of the most important) of lead generation services is to generate leads through business to business marketing. This is also known as B2B marketing. It involves classifying prospective customers and qualifying their probability to buy in advance of making a sales call. The earlier studies employed dichotic tasks of listening to establish the site for the dysfunction causing the auditory deficit, but they yielded variable results. Other studies have gone further to confirm that schizophrenia auditory processing deficits result in the reduced advantage of the right ear in auditory sensory modality as compared to the healthy individuals. However, for dichotic tasks involving quick responses four or three digit pairs in succession, schizophrenic patients demonstrated right ear advantage as compared to the healthy individuals (Kaprinis, 2008). In Aldo Leopold s essay, The Land Ethic , there are several overwhelming examples that illustrate why we as humans would believe we own the Earth when we really don t. Paradoxically, looking at Virginia Woolf s work, The Death of a Moth , one would come to believe that none of that matters because all living beings will suffer the fate of death. However, both works show that there can be a reconciliation between a certain kind of symbiosis: man vs man, land vs land, or man vs land. The Death of a Moth may show that all life form end eventually, but The Land Ethic convinces readers that there can be ways to maintain balance in the land that can prevent death or ameliorate life for all before death. In both works, we can observe the considerable similarities and differences, the balance between what is ethical and logical in how humans use the land, and the management of life and assurance of death for all life forms. The Land Ethic mainly focuses on how all beings should have value and respect for one another. Leopold states that the land is not only comprised of humans beings, but also other portions of the Earth; of which ranges from the soil and water to the plants and animals. • 26. Analysis Of A Doll s House A Doll s House is a famous three act play based in the mid/late 1800s. Written by author Henrik Ibsen, the play focused on the changing times for women of Norway (Ibsen, H, 1992). Throughout the play the typical early 1800s Norwegian family is described one where the husband is dominant in all aspects, and the wife merely follows his requests and tends to the children (M., M., M., A., n.d.). From the beginning of the play to the end, main character Nora gradually hints toward being so unhappy with her situation that she would eventually go against social norms and leave her husband and children to make a life for herself (Ibsen, H, 1992). A Doll s House incorporated several new concepts for that time period such as prose and realism all while employing the themes and structures of a classical tragedy. A Doll s House is so unique because it was one of the first plays to be written in prose. Merriam Webster s definition of prose is, a literary medium distinguished from poetry especially by its greater irregularity and variety of rhythm and its closer correspondence to the patterns of everyday speech (Prose., n.d.). Similarly, prose is simply everyday talk. Most plays were not written in this relatable way that we are used to now. For example, in that time it was uncommon for a play to have phrases like, I am in a silly mood today, as Nora stated (Ibsen, H, 1992). • 27. An Unquiet Mind Reflection Reflection of the Book An Unquiet Mind In her book, An Unquiet Mind, Kay Jamison instills an understanding of bipolar disorder from two opposing perspectives. Initially, Jameson tells a tale of herself as a long term victim of bipolar. It is from her description that a reader is highlighted about the various avenues through which the condition attacks. Besides exploring the disorder as the victim, the book as well depicts Jamison as the healed. That is, she gives an account of her life as an individual who survived the grips of bipolar disorder and became a healer (psychotherapist and a lecturer) instead. Reflecting on Jamison s work An Unquiet Mind automatically triggers the desire of the reader to unearth more about the author, her context, and diagnosis of the bipolar disorder. The Enjoyable Aspect It is impossible not to enjoy An Unquiet Mind based on how it explores the topics that people suffering from bipolar disorder tend not to touch. That is, Jamison employs the writing to tell people about her life as a victim of a mental health condition that is characterized by stigma everywhere. In depicting such an account, the author explores the actual nature of the disease, how it affects its victims, and how victims can fight it. Basically, the storyline gives a lifeline to people who suffer from bipolar disorder, and who have lost hope in achieving their dreams in life. The most fulfilling aspect of the reading features the fact that the author is able to identify a problem and at the same time offer a practical solution to the problem from a personal perspective, something that is rare to come by in real life medical practicing. Simply put, it is enjoyable to read Jamison s An Unquiet Mind. Diagnoses The reading offers lessons about the diagnosis of bipolar disorder primarily. To a reader, placing emphasis on Jamison s diagnosis can lead to answers about curing the condition, which is the goal of any interested individual. It is worth noting that Jamison was diagnosed with bipolar II disorder. Alfred Hitchcock also used cinematography in a uniquely stylizing way. Hitchcock not only uses the camera to create dramatic irony, but he also uses the camera to lie to the audience and create anxious suspense. For example, in his film Psycho, when Marion is in the shower Hitchcock frames the scenes very tightly. Marion is in a confined and very personal space. This makes her incredibly vulnerable. Then Hitchcock heightens the suspense by creating dramatic irony with the reveal of a shadowy figure closing in on Marion, unbeknownst to her. This creates a lot of anxiety for the audience, knowing the protagonist is vulnerable and in danger with no way of altering the inevitable. Hitchcock then manipulates the audience by revealing a brief silhouette of an old lady as our shower killer. Hitchcock uses this reveal to lie to the audience, he makes the audience think they have more inside knowledge confirming their already growing suspicions, when in reality the audience is misled entirely and the murderer was Norman all along. The way Hitchcock uses the camera to reveal both inside information and misleading information truly keeps the viewer engaged and not knowing what to believe until the truth is finally revealed. By using this unique technique of controlling the audience by only showing what he wants you to see, Hitchcock masterfully defies expectations and creates suspense. Both ... This is important because it illustrates that Adele is so absorbed in the typical female gender role that she is unable to separate herself and her identity from it. Madame Ratignolle s strict adherence to the Victorian gender roles is used by Chopin to show how old fashioned and outdated they are, while also demonstrating the way in which society clings to them. Throughout the novel the contrast between Adele and Edna is shown as a way of criticizing the lack of freedom women have in society due to the gender ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Isolation In Othello The most important and defining theme in Othello and O is jealousy, while isolation is also a major component of the texts, jealousy more or less defines the two texts in each of their separate contexts. The concept of Jealousy takes on differing forms in each of the texts parturitated by each texts vastly antithetical contexts. Shakespeare explores the themes of Jealousy and Isolation in his text Othello with use of various literary techniques in relation to his own worldly and societal context. Hugo s dream to take flight and soar above everything and everyone and his admittance that he knows you re not supposed to be jealous brings closure and responders are able to gain some insight into the reasons behind Hugo s betrayal of Odin s trust. Tim Blake Nelson effectively utilises imagery to show the corruption of jealousy. A prime example is the use of the recurring visual tree motif. From the beginnings of the text, responders are exposed to images of straight, healthy trees that are used to portray the unsoiled minds of the characters. However, once Hugo s villainous plot develops and the jealousy develops, the trees outside of the boarding facility become twisted, deformed and a strange material starts to corrupt the coherence of some shots. When Odin spies Mike conversing with Desi and in the mise en scene, a strange material can be seen in the top right corner blocking the view of the scene. This strange phenomenon is a visual technique that demonstrates to the audience the corruption of Odin s mind that questions Desi s fidelity spawned from jealousy, which eventually leads to his and her ... They detect extremes in temperature, pressure and harmful chemicals. However persistent pain syndromes offer no biological advantage and cause suffering and distress. Pathological pain caused by inflammation is perceived because of sensitization of peripheral and central nociceptive neurons. There is considerable evidence that the development and maintenance of persistent pain states after injury result from longterm changes in nociceptive processing in the spinal cord, as well as from increased activation of primary afferent nociceptors. • 34. Child s Play Child s Play is an odd film when you think about it. Who exactly was it made for? It certainly couldn t have been made for kids, due to the vulgar language from Chucky, so unless you are sneaking a peek at the film or if you are like me and were allowed to watch them at a young age, the film must be for adults. Right? I don t know, cause doesn t you think most people wouldn t have given the film a chance when they heard the plot? A story about a child s doll coming to life and killing people? Most people would roll their eyes and scoff at the idea of seeing it. However, that s today and not 1988 when the film came out. • 38. Examples Of Sonnet Poems William Shakespeare Sonnet Poems William Shakespeare has wrote many plays, stories, and poems in his lifetime. William Shakespeare lived for 52 years, and in his lifetime he wrote 38 plays, his series on Sonnet poems, and 5 other poems. He is the most popularly read author right behind the Bible. The sonnets he wrote were always 14 lines, and they all have the same amount of syllables. So, if you wanted, you can actually sing every single sonnet to a melody. The two sonnets I chose have to do with expressing your own beauty and passing the beauty on. In Sonnet 1, Shakespeare wrote, From fairest creatures we desire increase, That thereby beauty s rose might never die, But as the riper should by time decease, His tender heir might bear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You never expressed your own beauty, so no one but you and your grave will know your beauty. The next sonnet I chose was Sonnet 11. Sonnet 11 starts out like this, As fast as thou shalt wane, so fast thou grow st, In one of thine, from that which thou departest; And that fresh blood which youngly thou bestow st, Thou mayst call thine when thou from youth convertest. The start of this poem is saying, as fast as you will decline, you can also grow through one of your own children. The youth or DNA that you pass on to a child, is you as a young child. You call that child your own, because that was once you when you were younger. Herein lives wisdom, beauty, and increase; Without this, folly, age, and cold decay. If all were minded so, the times should cease, And threescore year would make the world away. Just like marriage, childbirth is about good judgement, beauty, and reproduction. Without them, you will only have foolishness, age, and the decay of death. If everyone was like you, the human race would end, and in sixty years there would be no more world. Let those whom nature hath not made for store, Harsh, featureless, and rude, barrenly perish. Look whom she best endowed, she gave the more, Which bounteous gift thou shouldst in bounty cherish. So let the people who aren t good enough to preserve the rough, ugly, and poor people, die childless. Mother ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Now imagine all of the things you could do with that money like buy a giraffe or a lamborghini. You could even open up an orphanage for kids. Now think of all the bad that could come out like becoming broke from lack of responsibility (financially) or losing all of your friends. When people win the lottery, people like to focus on the positive elements, but no one chooses to look at the negative elements. I could give food and shelter to those who don t have it. A couple weeks ago, my family and I went on a trip to Dallas,Texas for a family reunion and we stopped on this bridge and there was a homeless man standing with a sign. I saw the man and I gave him $20 which was all the money in my purse because I felt that the man needed it more than me. The doctor is a reliable narrator and an observer. I feel that his personality is brought out in the doctor. So the doctors thoughts and behaviors are a reflection of the authors. As for the setting it takes place at a family s home. I think it takes place somewhere in the early 1900 s. I think it would make a difference to the story if it were set somewhere else, only because if the sick girl was brought to like a hospital for example, maybe she would have been diagnosed and helped sooner without all the hassle that occurred at the house. The diction of the story is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So it didn t effect the point of the story. Something that really puzzled me in the story was when the first old lady ran after Marian in the hall and sort of grabbed her by her hair and asked her for a penny. I didn t understand that point and I don t think it made much sense to the story. The conflict in the story is when Marian actually goes into the old women s room. The conflict isn t very clear, but its very obvious there is a problem. The first old women is very outgoing, and the second old women, is angry, and bitter. So there s a bit of clashing going on with them and it shows when they spoke to each other. The events that led up to the plot are Marian going into the Old women s home, being in the room and communicating with them til finally she gets so scared she runs out. The theme of this story is also irony. Everything in the story conveyed the theme irony, only because everything seemed like the opposite of what it should have been. For instance when Marian goes to the old women s home for charity. The purpose of charity is to help people who cant help themselves, or to do something nice for someone. In the story, Marian isn t doing it to be helpful, she is only visiting the old women for extra points for her campfire girls. Another example of the irony was the old women constantly disagreed or contradicted each other.
