This document discusses the differences between the voiced "B" sound and the unvoiced "P" sound in English. Both sounds are produced in the front of the mouth, with the tongue in the same place, but "B" is voiced while "P" is unvoiced. It encourages practicing saying words containing these sounds with a piece of paper in front of the mouth, which will move for voiced sounds but not unvoiced sounds. 6. The vocal cords vibrate when you say voiced
sounds. You can hear a voiced B sound in
words such as "back" and "cab."

cords do not vibrate. Instead, we use a puff
of air to produce the sound. You can hear
the P sound in words such as "pack" and
"cap."
