The study aimed to assess the situation of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in Nigeria. It found that 10.2% of children were orphans and 24.5% were OVC. OVC had poor access to education, health, nutrition, shelter and care, and psychosocial protection. They also engaged in more high-risk behaviors like sexual exploitation and lacked awareness of HIV/AIDS prevention compared to other children. The report recommends strengthening policies and programs to improve coordination and targeting of services for OVC in Nigeria.
