Dermal Protection in Mammalian Species Essay
Dermal Protection in Mammalian Species
Typically, most animals of the class mammalia typically have relatively less durable outer dermal
layers than other classes of animal, such as reptiles. It can be seen particularly in humans (Homo
sapiens), where their skin is vulnerable to many external hazards. However, some mammals have
developed independently to obtain much more durable dermal protection. Highlighted here
specifically, will be the specimens within the families of Manidae and Dasypodidae. Respectively
these families represent the animals, the pangolin and armadillo. Although of very different classes,
orders, etc. these specific mammals have developed the ability to protect themselves with their own
outer coverings. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Vickaryous and Hall 2006) The osteoderms are not fully formed as soon as the armadillo is
born, but must grow as the armadillo itself grows. Osteoblasts secrete osteoid, which is what
creates the tiled, boney structures of the osteoderms. (Vickaryous and Hall 2006) While initially
grown in an even thickness, as the armadillo grows into adulthood, the dorsal surface of the
osteoderms become much thicker than the ventral surface. This can be further seen in the fact
that the dorsal surface will contain many of its osteoblasts, unlike the ventral surface which will
have very few. (Vickaryous and Hall 2006) It is important to note, that unlike animals, such as
turtles, the carapace is not directly connected the spine or ribs of the armadillo. (Vickaryous and
Hall 2006) The mechanism in which armadillos use their shell to protect themselves is also very
different than how a turtle would use its shell. The tiles of the osteoderms are connected to each
other via collagen fibers known as Sharpeys fibers (Fig. 2). These fibers add tensile strength to
the shell, allowing for the shell to be more durable, while also not requiring it to be entirely rigid.
(Chen et al. 2011) This, alongside the fact that keratinized scales cover the osteoderms creates a
shell that is hard, yet also flexible. (Rhee et al. 2011) These boney tiles also have the advantage of

An End Of History By Mario Savio
I used to believe that we could be anything that we wanted to be, as long as we wanted it enough;
that was around age 13. I still believe that we can be anything we want to be, with a few changes to
that belief: it has to fit in to the status quo, be accepted by those around you, and provide you with
enough money to live in what society perceives as a comfortable and successful lifestyle. Although
a lot has changed since American political activist Mario Savio wrote the article An End to History
in 1964, a great deal of change is required before students can become part of the system without
having to disregard their creativity and passion. In his article, Savio explains that his vision of the
proper role of the university or any such institution for that matter is one where the institution not
only allows its students to speak freely about the causes that matter to them, namely political
matters, but also allows students to mould themselves into the people they want to be, rather than
the institution moulding them into the people society wants them to be. Savio explains that he
believed the greatest problem in the United States during the 1960s (and arguably twenty first
century) to be the depersonalized, unresponsive bureaucracy, that bleeds into the very institutions
used to shape the future leaders of the country. He continues by stating that because of the
bureaucracy which controlled these post secondary institutions, students were forced to give up the

The Theory Of Principles For Financial Theory
Karl Gunnar Myrdal was an economist who belongs to Swedish and lived during the year 1988
till 1987. He contributed towards the theory of markets, economic fluctuation and a very efficient
use of the limited resources and got the Nobel Prize for his theories presented. The theory of
principles for Financial Theory profile sets out the principles that the Accounting Standards Board
considers should bring about the research and demonstration of general purpose financial theories
in the field of economics. The basic purpose of articulating such principles is to provide a rational
frame of reference to be used by the Board for the improvement and evaluation of accounting
standards in economics and by others who act together with the Board through the standard setting
procedure. Such a frame of orientation should explain the conceptual foundation of projected
accounting standards and should enable standards to be developed on a steady basis by
decreasing the need to discuss fundamental issues each time a standard is reviewed or established
(Qiyan Wua, 2014). The economic theory is being published because of the knowledge of the
principles should help the users and the preparers of the theories, as well including auditors and
others, to appreciate the Board s line of attack to formulating accounting principles and the nature of
the information mentioned in the general purpose financial theories. Economic theories are a very
valuable tool in analyzing the company s economical

Darwinism And Religion Gould Summary
At the beginning of the essay Gould made a clear reference to a dear friend, Kirtley Mather, who
was a pillar of both science and Christian religion in America (Gould, 1981). Comparatively, this
appealed to the emotions of the reader, unlike most scholarly works Gould reminded the reader of
his humanity. Often, Christians relate evolutionas being the work of a devil, or some form of
subhuman, out to misguide their faith; therefore, the reader assumed this was Gould s way of
facilitating a viable connection with biased readers before undermining creationism. Darwinism is
known as the theory of evolution, and creationists repeatedly utilize a mistaken vernacular of the
word theory to denounce evolution. Although, a theory is part of a hierarchy of confidence running
downhill from fact to theory to hypothesis to guess (Gould, 1981).... Show more content on

Moreover, Gould explained how theories are the anatomy behind ideas, which attempt to
decipher facts. Facts are data, they form the fabric of reality, but like Gould said, Einstein s
theory of gravitation replaced Newton s, but apples did not suspend themselves in mid air,
pending the outcome. And humans evolved from apelike ancestors whether they did so by
Darwin s proposed mechanism or by some other, yet to be discovered (Gould, 1981). In other
words, Darwinism is a theory, but human genetics were, without a doubt, sown from the same
seeds as apes, and even if another theory replaces Darwinism our ancestry will remain the

Athena Greek Goddess
With a battle cry through the kingdom of heaven and earth, she sprang from the head of
Zeus. She is one of the most powerful goddess on Mount Olympus, representing war and the
immortal spirit of wisdom. She never had a consort or lover, therefore, she is known as virgin
Athena. She was the goddess of justice, wisdom, and protector and arts and literature. Her symbol
is the owl which represents her wisdom. Athena was very unique in many different ways than other
greek goddesses.
The goddess Athena was not birthed by any women. According to The Encyclopedia of the

The owl was a known representation of Athena s wisdom, knowledge, and inner light. The owl
was to illuminate Athena s blind side and allowing her to seek the entire truth. Owls were
widely associated with Athena s blessings, and Greek soldiers viewed the sight of owls before a
battle as a symbol that the goddess was on their side. According to William Justus Raup from
The tales of an Upstate NY birder, The Owl became associated with Athena because, the light
that reflects off their eyes in the dark gave the appearance of an inner light or Wisdom and this is
the most likely cause, a particular species of Owl was common on top of the Acropolis of Athens.
Since that hilltop was dedicated to Athena, the Greeks took the fact that there were so many owls

Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework And Process Essay
Enterprise Wide Risk Management In order to effectively treat risk, firms must first apply a risk
management framework and process. The enterprise wide risk management process provides a
broad approach to address and manage all of an organizations risk. Furthermore, this technique is
comprised of four components, lead and establish accountability, align and integrate, allocate
resources, and communicate and report. When implemented together these components are the
essential to achieving an organizations goals. Moreover, five risk managementsteps reinforce the
enterprise wide framework process and begins with scanning the environment, identifying the risks,
analyzing the risks, treating the risk and lastly, monitoring the risks to ensure they are being
controlled and eliminated (Elliott, 2012). Banks in particular have a variety of risks which can be
addressed using enterprise wide risk management techniques. For example, ABC Community Bank
would be subject to a number of financial risks, including interestrate risk, liquidity risk, credit risk
and price risk. With just 30 employees and one location, the organization is small and the company
s ability to absorb financial risks and survive is improbable. Therefore, the organization must take
the necessary steps to address the company s financial risks to ensure continuous survival and goal
achievement.

Briefly explain how it works and how it has helped Chevron discover new oil and gas reservoirs?
Seismic imaging technology: Seismic imaging is a tool that bounces sound waves off underground
rock structures to reveal possible crude oil and natural gas bearing formations. Ultrasensitive
devices named as geophones are used by the seismologists to record the sound waves as they echo
inside the earth. After brief research on the echoes, geologists start calculating the depth and
structures of buried geologic formations. This kind of analysis may help them identify oil and gas
bearing reservoirs which are hiding underneath the earth s surface. Most of ... Show more content

Symbols In The Great Gatsby Research Paper
Symbolism is a very important part in literature. Symbolism adds to a literary work in many
ways. It helps readers get more involved in the story rather than just read it and not be involved in
it. It also helps the readers get an idea of what the author wants them to get out of the story that
they are reading. Symbolism is defined as the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities. There
are many different works of literature that use symbolism and add to that literary work. Symbolism
is a term associated with the work of late 19th century French writers who reacted against the
descriptive precision and objectivity of realism and the scientific determinism of naturalism.

The first symbol is the green light at the end of the dock. This represents Gatsby s hopes and
dreams for the future. Involuntarily I glanced seaward and distinguished nothing except a single
green light, minute and far way, that might have been the end of a dock. When I looked once
more for Gatsby he had vanished, and I was alone again in the unquiet darkness (21). Another
symbol in the story is the Valley of Ashes. This represents the moral and social decay which
results from the pursuit of wealth as the rich regard nothing but their own pleasure. It also
symbolizes the plight of the poor who live among the ashes and lose their vitality as a result. The
Valley of Ashes and how the rich regard nothing but their own pleasure relates to Tom in the
story because he becomes jealous when Gatsby starts to fall in love with Daisy again. Tom has
an affair with Myrtle and when Tom finds out about the affair that Gatsby and Daisy have he
sets up Gatsby and tells Wilson that Gatsby was driving the yellow sports car that killed his wife.
In reality it was Tom that was driving the car that killed Myrtle. I spoke to her, he muttered, after a
long silence. I told her she might fool me but she couldn t fool God. I took her to the window with
an effort he got up and walked to the rear window and leaned with his face pressed against it and I
said God knows what you ve been doing, everything you ve been doing. You may fool me, but you
can t fool God! (159). The faded visage of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg s gaze at the sad escapades of the
novel s characters has naturally drawn attention (Hauhart). The symbolism of the Eyes of Doctor
T.J. Eckleburg is seen as God staring down and judging American society as a moral wasteland.
They also represent the meaninglessness of the world. The Valley of Ashes plays a key role in the

Imagery of Disease in Hamlet by William Shakespeare Essay
Imagery of Disease in Hamlet by William Shakespeare
The disease imagery in Hamlet serves to constantly remind the reader of the initial problem in the
play: King Hamlet s poisoning by his brother. After hearing his father graphically describe the
murder, it is constantly on Hamlet s mind. For this reason, many of the images that Hamlet creates
in the play are connected with disease and poison. The literal poisoning becomes symbolic of the
rest of the events of the play. Remember that poisoning through the ear can be taken literally or
figuratively (through speech and lies). Look at Polonius s conversation with
Ophelia about Hamlet, Claudius lies to Laertes and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. There are

Also, he said that it was questionable whether Ophelia took her own life, or accidentially fell in the

I wanted to respond to Tom s posting on Christian imagery in Hamlet. I thought he brought up
some interesting points that I had overlooked in my reading. The idea of the Ghost of Hamlet as a
parallel to the Holy Ghost is obvious to me. I agree with
Tom in his description of what the Holy Ghost (spirit) is meant to be to us Christains.
Along those same lines, the Ghost of Hamlet seems to have the same purpose in this play. He
speaks to Hamlet without ever saying a word. He seems to guide him in his quest to revenge his
death. Just as Christians are taught to feel the presence of the Holy Ghost, Hamlet feels the
presence of his father s Ghost. In the scene where he is argueing with Gertrude, Hamlet stops when
he feels his father s ghost. I believe he indeed felt his presence before he say him. There is no
evidence in the text to support my claim, but it is just an interpretation I have. Another reference I
like is our saviour s birth is celebrated , (1672, line 140).
This also to me shows how King Hamlet is often viewed as Christ like. There seems to be a
constant parallel between Christ and Hamlet

Hispanic Culture And Mexican-Americans
In the United States, Mexican Americans comprise 14.5 percent of the total U.S. population.
Today, while most Mexican Americans live in urban areas, significant numbers comprise both the
north and south, across the United States. However, one misconception is that all Spanish or
Latino cultures are the same. The differences between Mexico and other Latin American countries
include 500 years of separate histories and their specific customs. These specific customs were
present prior to their submission to the Spaniards. Although Spanish is the principal language
spoken by most Hispanics, regional pronunciations and dialects differ in their speech patterns.
Similarly, the Mexican cultures each have different dietary patterns. The traditional Mexican
American diet is rich in a variety of foods and dishes that represent a blend of cultures. Primarily,
pre Columbian, indigenous Indian, Spanish, French, and more recently, American culture.
Traditional diets reflect the geographic regions of Mexico and the availability of local fruits,
vegetables, grains, dairy products, and protein sources. Tap water is often unsafe in Mexico new
immigrants may need to be reassured that U.S. tap water is safe. The family unit is the single most
important social unit in the life of Hispanics. Family responsibilities come before all other
responsibilities. Gender differentiation and male dominance are issues to consider while working

Persuasive Essay On Early Voting
When you think of America, what do you think of? Most people probably imagine an American
Flag, maybe some are thinking of their home, but one thing that will not be far from everyone s
mind when they think of America, is democracy. Democracy is one of the foundations of our
country, and is one of the thousands of things that make America a free nation. Although America
prides itself on freedom, specifically freedom of expression, only about half of our citizens are
taking part in their civic duty. There are many reasons for this, some that are unsolvable, but as a
nation, we must do better to make votingmore readily available for all citizens. One way to do
this, is to allow early voting. Currently, 37 states allow some form of early voting, but
Pennsylvania is not one of them (STATE LAWS GOVERNING EARLY VOTING.) I m proposing
for the Pennsylvania State Government to take action, and allow early voting for the sake of their
people.

Abigail Adams Rhetorical Analysis
Abigail Adams constructs a well composed letter to her beloved son John Quincy Adams in order to
support and advice John Adam. The letter is written in the twelfth of January 1780 when John
Adam was traveling abroad with his fate. The tone of Abigail Adams can be best described as being
gentle and complimentary. Furthermore, the purpose of Abigail Adams was to advise John Adam
concerning the future of his nation and to advise him on how to take charge of his country.
Throughout the affectionate letter, Abigail Adams uses parallel structure, similes, pathos, and
alludes to figures from history.
In the third paragraph of the sensible letter, Abigail Adams begins by using a simile to compare and
motivate her son John Adams about how he should work diligently and steadily. Abigail Adams
recalls an author compares a judicious traveler to a river, that increases its stream the further it
flows from its source. (paragraph 3 line 15 20) Furthermore, the use of simile indicates that Abigail
Adams wants John Adams to make a good representation of his country and acquire wisdom from

Chapter Five Analyzes How The Different Studies, Like...
Chapter five analyzes how the different studies, like retrospective and prospective studies are
useful in clinical studies. To better understand a clinical study first, it is important to take in
consideration that there are key words that we need to read before assuming that a piece of
information is statistic significant. For instance, there is a difference between all the studies that
scientists used to determinate the relationship of a disease status and an exposure. These studies are
experimental studies, randomized, and doubled blind and nocebo effect. I found interesting the
nocebo effect, because it is a new term that I learn. I agree with the author, when he is making the

The reason I am telling this is, because a friend of mine have a medical condition and she has
been trying medications for a while. One of the medications that she was using, make her feel
worse. The side effect that she has been migraine, she tried the medication for one year at different
time of the day to see if this might influence, but nothing work for her. She was under the
supervision of the Doctor, but he told her, she needs to adjust to the medication. My question is
this, how long patients need to suffer before Doctors reports a medication is not working properly?
It is unfortunate, that patients believe in Doctors and some of them threat patients as experiments.
A controversial topic it is discussed in chapter seven, which is the autism spectrum disorder. I work

Ethanol Fuel Pros And Cons
Ethanol Fuel According to the Renewable Fuels Association, ethanol production in 2013 added
more than 87,000 direct jobs across the country, $44 billion to the gross domestic product, and
$30.7 billion in household income ( Ethanol Benefits and Considerations ). A nonrenewable
resource, gasoline, currently occupies the United States s spot as the main fuel source. This not
only means our fuel supply will eventually be depleted, but the country s main fuel supply is
harming the environment. Throughout the last decade, the idea of ethanol, a renewable resource,
starting to replace gasoline has been debated, but until the last few years, remained implausible.
Recent technology innovations, enhancing the performance of ethanol fuel, transformed this idea
into a reality. The adoption of ethanol as the main source of our country s fuel not only benefits the
country as a whole but individuals vehicles . Lower greenhouse gasemissions prevail as the main
benefit of ethanol fuel. Greenhouse gases contribute to global warming, which affects the Earths
temperature drastically. It is necessary that the world reduces the amount of pollution generated.
The warming of the Earth affects more than the temperature; it disrupts the wildlife as well.
Consequently, insects, specifically disease... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Europe s Influence On Western Europe
Western Europe is a term that was used to describe a region where many countries, such as Britain,
France and Germany, which joined after World Wars, shared the same history. In another
perspective, it was also sometimes referring to a region where countries shared the same value:
capitalism and democracy. Throughout the history, because of difference events, the position of
Western Europein the world has also changed. Before 1914, due to the rapid development of the
Enlightenment ideas and the industrialization in Britain and France, the world major powers
centrally seated in Western Europe. However, as the Western European countries suffered huge
losses from two World Wars, Western Europe has actually steadily marched East since the Great
War. Moreover, as many new immigrants from the former colonized regions joined Western
European countries, Western Europe also gained its economic and political cohesion as most
countries became part of NATO and then the European Union. In the present days, while the idea of
Western Europe has expanded to more countries, it became dominant in its continent and could be
considered as a savior to many other nations.
Prior to the 1914, many of the world great powers, such as Britain and France were centrally seated

The question of how long it will take a spacecraft to reach Mars depends on where we are
because both planets are constantly orbiting the Sun. According to Space.Com, on average, it
would take around 162 days to reach Mars [3] Because the Mars and Earth is so far away, we
can expect that there are many differences among the two planets. Living on Earth is as
comfortable as it is, and so this leads us to the question as to why we would want to risk our
health, and our life to go out into space and do explorations Different people have different say
in this matter, but Fox News has generated multiple reasons why we should have human
explorations on Mars. The first and most obvious reason would be because we want more
scientific knowledge and discover more about the Mars. We were able to gain many knowledge
about the Mars through robotic explorations, but scientist and others aspiring scientist have strong
enthusiasm that humans can do a more thorough exploration on the mars. The hopes of exploring
Mars and other planets will then inspire the younger generations to become more aware and
interested in the STEM field [2]. Another popular reason why we want to have human
explorations on Mars is for advancement in our knowledge and possible expansion of humanity. It
is known that Mars is the planet that is most similar to our planet Earth, so this challenges us to
explore more about Mars [2]. The first question we want to address is what will

The Social Discourse Of Bipolar Disorder
The social discourse of bipolar disorder is often punctuated by the classic manic episodes
manifesting as symptoms such as distractibility, pressured speech, decreased need for sleep,
euphoric mood, grandiosity, and problems with impulse control [17]. These classic periods of
high energy are often intertwined in a cyclical fashion with periods of depressive symptoms,
much of the time meeting criteria for major depressive disorder, as well as periods with no
symptoms [17]. The frequency by which a patient moves through these states varies greatly
from weeks to months to as little as a few days, namely rapid cycling [17]. In addition to manic
episodes, hypomanic episodes, characterized by similar symptoms but less severe symptoms
than manic episodes, qualify the disease as bipolar II disorder instead of bipolar I which needs
the criteria of manic episodes alternating with major depressive episodes [17]. Another subtype
of bipolar disorder, cyclothymia, is characterized by depressive episodes that do not meet
criteria for a major depressive episode but does consist of cycling with previously described
hypomanic episodes [11]. While the stigma of manic episodes plagues patients with bipolar
disorder, often the depressive episodes are what cause the most distress and impairment in daily
functioning of patients with bipolar disorder [12]. The burden of bipolar disorder, which has an
estimated prevalence of 4% worldwide, permeates throughout all aspects of society from the

The Lansdowne Dining Room (1766 1769), as its name suggests, is a dining room from the
Lansdowne house located at the southwest corner of Berkeley Square, in London. This house

Research done by psychologist John Norcross found that only forty percent of the people who
made New Year s resolutions kept them after six months (Source A). In his research, he seems to
say that this is the reason resolutions are pointless. If you take a more optimistic look at these
numbers, that is a large number of people who are actually making a positive change to their
lives. He shows that after two years the numbers are even lower with only nineteen percent
following their resolutions (Document A) Again, the eighty one percent failures are
disappointing, but the nineteen percent of success may be life changing for people. Even a small
resolution, like having a protein shake once a week, can make someone happier and feel a real
sense of accomplishment. New Year s resolutions, when they are achieved or at least attempted,
give people a goal and a chance to make an important change. This encourages people to feel
hopeful about a goal, whether it is losing weight, eating better, or improving grades. Again, people
will point out the disappointment that people may feel if they fail to follow through with their
resolution. Although that may occur, the happiness that will result from achieving a goal will be very

Wonderful Words Welcomed With Wedding Weight Loss Essay
Wonderful Words Welcomed with Wedding Weight Loss In August 2012, Special K cereal ran

attributes that people may gain if they lose weight. Special K often uses its slogan What will you

cereal, but for a customized weight loss plan provided by Special K that will presumably include
buying Special K products. By using this weddinggown with positive bonus effects of weight loss
written on it in elegant letters, Special K creates an effective weight loss advertisement. Kellogg

eaten correctly and in moderation, Special K can certainly be an effective weight loss tool.

Migraine Case Study
To best understand the treatments available for migraines, it is imperative to understand the
pathophysiology. Currently, a migraine is considered a neurovascular disorder that involves the
trigeminovascular system, a nerve bundle responsible for various sensations in the face. According
to Kalra (2007), the paroxysmal nature of a migrainesuggests that it might be related to mutations
in the calcium channel gene rendering neurons unstable so they react to normal environmental
stimuli abnormally initiating the migraine attack. Certain symptoms like the auravisual
disturbances, numbness, and dizziness is thought to be the result of the reduction of potassium
chloride, which decreases cortical activity and spreads to other cortices. Moreover, the trigeminal
system is interconnected with various blood vessels, and once those nerves are stimulated, there is
a change in the cell activity, blood flow and the local release of neuropeptides, including Substance
P, nitric oxide, serotonin, and CGRP, which is a

The inflammation spreads through the nerves in the trigeminal bundles, causing the headache pain.
In addition, this swelling can lead to the chronic pain many patients experience with migraines,
which is referred to as Central Sensitization. This perpetuates the migraine after it begins by
pulsating through a large range of neurons in areas all around the cortices; it can maintain itself for
hours and because of it s widespread affect, the normal pain modulation center in the brainstem is
dysfunctional. The malfunction leads to excessive thalamic activity that leads to the increased pain

Theme Of Power In The Mayor Of Casterbridge
Power one s influence on society is coveted by many. What has been sympathy in the past, has
become greed for more control, strength, and reverence from others. People have began to focus
on being all knowing and dominating, rather than being just a friend. The conquest to gain more
power has become a major influence on a person s actions; however, these actions are usually self
destructive, leading to a person s downfall. Power is what drives people s actions, and eat people
inside and out on their way to this ultimate goal. In the competition for power, only the people who
best comprehend their environment and adapt appropriately can ultimately succeed.. The Mayor of
Casterbridgefollows multiple different characters in a prison like society. In this society, there is
a constant thirst for power, and a fight for this control. Each character tries to quench this desire
in a different way, and ultimately many characters fail to reach this ideal situation. The characters
in the novel are very driven in their ways that there is a limited change in the fight for power.
Many argue that in order to have possession of all this power, one must be familiar about all
aspects of society, rather than being distant. In his novel The Mayor of Casterbridge, Thomas Hardy
argues this belief. Through the character of Farfrae, the goldfinch, and the isolated death of
Henchard, Hardy advocates that innocence results in an expansion of power and self control.

Business Model And Strategic Plan Part II
Business Model and Strategic Plan Part II: SWOTT Analysis Paper According to Colbert, a
SWOT analysis can assist a company by viewing and examining internal and external concerns;
therefore it is a useful tool to make concise strategic decisions for various periods (2015). The
first aspect pertains to the strengths that a corporation faces from all sources by scrutinizing how
the company handles situations (Colbert, 2015). Weaknesses focuses on areas that need to be
addressed whether on a large or individual scale to evaluate what courses of actions can be taken
to expand on improvement (Colbert, 2015). The third category of the analysis centers on
opportunities that a business can emphasize within their respective industry or the professional
environment (Colbert, 2015). The last section views risks that can develop from outside
competitors or any problems that might arise from any influential source; therefore it is
imperative that a business entity utilizes threat factors because it can assist in identification and
problem resolution to deal with the issue at hand whether past or present (Colbert, 2015). The
Offices of MLO operates on a smaller scale than the big three such as H R Block, Jackson Hewitt
Tax Service, or Liberty Tax Service. Caragher suggests a series of questions that can be purposed to
members of the professional environment within an accounting firm to develop and ascertain the
objectives and strategy that will be taken (2014). The following questions can

Please whatever you do don t let the depressing facts about the dollar keep you from making money
in 2008. What the pessimistic press isn t telling you is how you can profit from the lowest dollar
in 15 years. There is a extraordinary opportunity heading your way if you know how to seize it.
But first let me explain how the falling dollar really works. Then you ll see with your own eyes
how you can profit. A falling dollar does two things:
* Makes foreign imports more expensive
* Makes US exports cheaper on the world market
The chain reaction not only increases sales of U.S. goods around the world but also creates more
jobs for Americans. The end result increases the profits of U.S. multinationals.
And that s just the half of it.
Because a cheaper dollar makes foreign products more expensive, Americans buy more American
goods as well creating even more U.S. jobs. On a purely psychological level, it does even more
than that: It creates greater investor and consumer confidence, as more Americans are working,
more consumers are

Gold Standard or Floating Exchange Rate
Gold Standard Versus Floating Exchange:
Which is the Better Method?
By: Jane Doe
Eco 500
In this paper, I am going to discuss and compare exchange rates. The two types of exchange rates
are the Gold Standard and the Floating exchange rate. First, I will describe exchange rates.
Second, I will compare the two types in this dissertation. Third, and finally I will give my
conjectures and beliefs on which I consider the better system.
An exchange rate is, The price of a unit of one country s currency expressed in terms of the
currency of some other country. (Multinational Business Finance) An example of this is taking the
United States dollar alongside the British pound. I will not be using an actual rate, just a rate for ...

Floating exchange rates have their benefits and downsides as well. The benefits of a floating rate
are:
The currency becomes worth more when the demand increases.
If a country s economy (GDP) is on a steady track, the currency is valued at a high rate.
A country does not have to worry about its gold or other materials value since the currency value
can vary for other market related issues. This means not having to worry about keeping such large
quantities of a reserve in the central bank.
These rates change faster then a fixed rate.
Here is an example of what happens if a country is on a floating system. If demand for a currency
is low, its value will decrease, thus making imported goods more expensive and thus stimulating
demand for local goods and services. This in turn will generate more jobs, and hence an auto
correction would occur in the market. A floating exchange rate is constantly changing.
(Investopedia.com) In the above we can see that as much as it is negative to have a currency with
little value, it can in turn create a positive outcome. Employment can rise, people spend, and
eventually the economy stabilizes again. The cycle starts all over with the currency having a high
value again.
The downside to floating rates follows:
If the market is on a downward shift, the currency can be as well.
The central bank does not have as much control to control the

The Book Of Jonah
Historical Background for the Passage:
In the book of Jonah, we see how Jonah ran from God. God allowed Jonah to run, and taught him
a valuable lesson during his three days and nights in the belly of a great fish and again when Jonah
was angered because God did not destroy Ninevah.
Summary and Analysis of Passage:
God spoke to Jonah and told him to go to Nenevah and preach against the sin and wickedness in
the city. Jonah did not want to go to Ninevah and he ran to another city where he boarded a boat
that was about to go to sea. Once departed, God allowed a great wind to cause the sea to become
rough. The captain went below and found Jonah asleep and woke him and asked him how he could
sleep during such turbulence. Then, he asked Jonah to call out to his god to save them.
The crew of the ship wanted to know who was responsible for the storm and cast lots and the lot
fell upon Jonah. Jonah told them that he was running from God and was responsible and to throw
him overboard. The men tried to row to shore first, but it was impossible. The men cried out to
God and asked him not to hold them responsible for Jonah s death. They were unaware ... Show

did not destroy the city and he wanted God to take his life. God questioned him asking if Jonah
had a right to be upset. Jonah went out of the city and sat down in the sun. God caused a leafy
plant to grow next to him and shade Jonah from the heat which gave comfort to Jonah. But, God
caused a worm to eat the plant, taking away Jonah s shade which angered Jonah. God told Jonah

Rejection Movie Essay
The story of Rejection follows the intricacies of marital relationships through the development of
the characters Kyle and Deborah. Rejection begins with the introduction of Deborah, a
businesswoman in her late twenties, riding in a Uber to a hotel for a business trip. She appears to
be distant and in a rush, yet kind at heart. After arriving and checking in at the hotel, she begins to
get ready for her first meeting only to be interrupted by a phone call from her husband Kyle.
The couple begins the conversation with small talk that leads Kyle to bring up a mutual friend of
theirs. Kyle asks his wife is she remembers John which begins a series of flashbacks that occurs
throughout the film. The first flashback starts with Kyle introducing Deborah ... Show more content

Deborah pushes back at every suggestion. As the conversation ensues, there are three periodic cut
aways that detail John s various stages of treatment. Kyle begins the questions feeling hopeful
about his friend and ends feeling disdained due to his wife s disconnection. Deborah informs Kyle
that she needs to go and she hangs up.
The next scene begins with a man sitting in a wheelchair in the radiation room with a phone to his
head. The camera pulls out to reveal that the man waiting for his next treatment is Kyle and that he
was actually John in the previous scenes. Then Deborah receives a call from the hospital informing
her that her husband is behind on his payments for his radiation treatments. The film ends with
Kyle receiving a call from his wife and before he can do anything, it cuts to black.
Kyle creates a fictitious situation using his friend John to both test the waters and deflect the task
of telling Deborah about his cancer. In the end, he assumes his wife wouldn t abide well with a
handicapped husband deflecting her attention away from her career onto him. Deborah is believed
to be the character in the wrong, however, it is Kyle s personal flaws that exacerbate her vices.
Kyle feels as if he cannot be honest with his wife due to the lack of emotional intimacy in their
relationship. Deborah, too busy to fully understand the weight of the situation, responds in a way
that alienates her husband rather

Esther in the Bible Essay
The book of Esther tells the faithfulness of one woman and her uncle. It is only one of two books
that contain the heroism and bravery of a woman heroine. The story of Esther accomplishes two
profound things, the first: To demonstrate God s providential care of his people, even those outside
the land of Israel, and 2) to commend the observance of the feast of Purimby relating how it
originated (Breneman 289).Unlike the rest of the Bible the story of Estherdoes not directly state or
talk about God, but instead shows God s plans for all of our lives and how in all frightening
moments of life, He remains faithful to those who trust and have faith in Him. In spite of the

King Xerxes had amazing amounts of wealth and many wives and concubines, but the wife that
stood out, and perhaps the most infamous wife in his courts, was Queen Vashti.
Queen Vashti was the daughter of King Nebuchadnezzar and was very self seeking and
stubborn. She was also very beautiful, which in some ways was her downfall, for during the
concluding week of the great feast, King Xerxes demanded Queen Vashti come before him and
have her beauty paraded before his guests. Queen Vashti refused to come and be humiliated in
this manner, for it was not proper for a woman to appear before a room of men. This angered
King Xerxes, and he turned to his advisors for what appropriate actions should be taken against
the queen for disobedience. If it pleases his majesty, let him issue a royal decree and let it be
written as one of the laws of the Persians and Medes, which are irrevocable that Vashti is never
again to be admitted into the presence of King Achashverosh, and that the king give her royal
position to someone better than she (Stern 1089 1090). King Xerxes had Queen Vashti removed
from her position as queen, and she was never summoned before him again, for the word of the
king was final and could not be rescinded. Upon the advice of his closest trustees and advisors, a
beauty pageant was held at the palace, and all of the most eligible virgins of all the provinces were
to come to Susa as prospects to replace Queen Vashti.
One of the virgins brought

(a) Nemawashi is an agricultural metaphor. The idea is that before a farmer plants a seed, he
should prepare the roots and the soil, so that the seed has the best chance of survival. It is a
political process by which an unofficial understanding is reached before a final decision is made on
a particular matter. Nemawashi is Bottom up style decision making (middle management has the

Before everyone takes a seat, it is an essential part of Japanese business etiquette to exchange
business cards. In Japan, business cards are called meishi . They are considered not only as
serious tools for establishing business contacts, but also as identification of the individual and
the company he/she represents. Business cards should be printed with one side in Japanese and
one side in the language of the individual s home country. It is in ones best interest to offer their
business card with both hands as this denotes greater respect. Unlike many Western countries
where it is acceptable to pocket a business card upon receipt, it is considered extremely rude and
disrespectful in Japan. In comparison it is expected for the recipient to review and memorize the
details printed on the card and then carefully place it in a card holder or pocketbook. As Japanese
business meetings are conducted formally, it is unacceptable for members to dress casually.
Acceptable attire for men includes conservative suits in a dark color. Women are also expected to
dress conservatively and should avoid wearing trousers as Japanese men may take it offensively. In

Taking a Look at ANSYS
1.Introduction
1.1ANSYS
ANSYS is a software package that allows various simulations in a range of different fields and
industries to be modelled and analysed. The main fields within the program include, computational
fluid dynamics, structural mechanics, and electromagnetics to mention a few. The use of this
software allows an individual or business to test various cases of product use, eliminating the
outlay cost of building and testing many prototypes. This saves on time and costs and is a lot
faster and more accurate then computing a hand analysis. In certain circumstances it allows for
test cases that would otherwise not be possible to set up in a lab [1] [2].
1.1.1Brief History of ANSYS
Modern finite element method may be traced back as early as the 1900 s with the first models
being represented and calculated by means of discrete equivalent elastic bars. The individual that
has been credited with developing the finite element method is R. Courant. He made use of
piecewise polynomial interpolation over triangular sub regions to analyse problems involving
torsion [3].
Boeing was the first major company to make use of triangular stress elements to model their
airplane wings during the years from 1950 1962. It was during the 1960 s that the finite element
method use was broadened to other industries including heat transfer. ANSYS was officially
released in 1971 [3]. It was not until 1995 when Microsoft released Windows 95, which the

  • 2. Dermal Protection in Mammalian Species Essay Dermal Protection in Mammalian Species Typically, most animals of the class mammalia typically have relatively less durable outer dermal layers than other classes of animal, such as reptiles. It can be seen particularly in humans (Homo sapiens), where their skin is vulnerable to many external hazards. However, some mammals have developed independently to obtain much more durable dermal protection. Highlighted here specifically, will be the specimens within the families of Manidae and Dasypodidae. Respectively these families represent the animals, the pangolin and armadillo. Although of very different classes, orders, etc. these specific mammals have developed the ability to protect themselves with their own outer coverings. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Vickaryous and Hall 2006) The osteoderms are not fully formed as soon as the armadillo is born, but must grow as the armadillo itself grows. Osteoblasts secrete osteoid, which is what creates the tiled, boney structures of the osteoderms. (Vickaryous and Hall 2006) While initially grown in an even thickness, as the armadillo grows into adulthood, the dorsal surface of the osteoderms become much thicker than the ventral surface. This can be further seen in the fact that the dorsal surface will contain many of its osteoblasts, unlike the ventral surface which will have very few. (Vickaryous and Hall 2006) It is important to note, that unlike animals, such as turtles, the carapace is not directly connected the spine or ribs of the armadillo. (Vickaryous and Hall 2006) The mechanism in which armadillos use their shell to protect themselves is also very different than how a turtle would use its shell. The tiles of the osteoderms are connected to each other via collagen fibers known as Sharpeys fibers (Fig. 2). These fibers add tensile strength to the shell, allowing for the shell to be more durable, while also not requiring it to be entirely rigid. (Chen et al. 2011) This, alongside the fact that keratinized scales cover the osteoderms creates a shell that is hard, yet also flexible. (Rhee et al. 2011) These boney tiles also have the advantage of being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. An End Of History By Mario Savio I used to believe that we could be anything that we wanted to be, as long as we wanted it enough; that was around age 13. I still believe that we can be anything we want to be, with a few changes to that belief: it has to fit in to the status quo, be accepted by those around you, and provide you with enough money to live in what society perceives as a comfortable and successful lifestyle. Although a lot has changed since American political activist Mario Savio wrote the article An End to History in 1964, a great deal of change is required before students can become part of the system without having to disregard their creativity and passion. In his article, Savio explains that his vision of the proper role of the university or any such institution for that matter is one where the institution not only allows its students to speak freely about the causes that matter to them, namely political matters, but also allows students to mould themselves into the people they want to be, rather than the institution moulding them into the people society wants them to be. Savio explains that he believed the greatest problem in the United States during the 1960s (and arguably twenty first century) to be the depersonalized, unresponsive bureaucracy, that bleeds into the very institutions used to shape the future leaders of the country. He continues by stating that because of the bureaucracy which controlled these post secondary institutions, students were forced to give up the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Theory Of Principles For Financial Theory Karl Gunnar Myrdal was an economist who belongs to Swedish and lived during the year 1988 till 1987. He contributed towards the theory of markets, economic fluctuation and a very efficient use of the limited resources and got the Nobel Prize for his theories presented. The theory of principles for Financial Theory profile sets out the principles that the Accounting Standards Board considers should bring about the research and demonstration of general purpose financial theories in the field of economics. The basic purpose of articulating such principles is to provide a rational frame of reference to be used by the Board for the improvement and evaluation of accounting standards in economics and by others who act together with the Board through the standard setting procedure. Such a frame of orientation should explain the conceptual foundation of projected accounting standards and should enable standards to be developed on a steady basis by decreasing the need to discuss fundamental issues each time a standard is reviewed or established (Qiyan Wua, 2014). The economic theory is being published because of the knowledge of the principles should help the users and the preparers of the theories, as well including auditors and others, to appreciate the Board s line of attack to formulating accounting principles and the nature of the information mentioned in the general purpose financial theories. Economic theories are a very valuable tool in analyzing the company s economical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Darwinism And Religion Gould Summary At the beginning of the essay Gould made a clear reference to a dear friend, Kirtley Mather, who was a pillar of both science and Christian religion in America (Gould, 1981). Comparatively, this appealed to the emotions of the reader, unlike most scholarly works Gould reminded the reader of his humanity. Often, Christians relate evolutionas being the work of a devil, or some form of subhuman, out to misguide their faith; therefore, the reader assumed this was Gould s way of facilitating a viable connection with biased readers before undermining creationism. Darwinism is known as the theory of evolution, and creationists repeatedly utilize a mistaken vernacular of the word theory to denounce evolution. Although, a theory is part of a hierarchy of confidence running downhill from fact to theory to hypothesis to guess (Gould, 1981).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, Gould explained how theories are the anatomy behind ideas, which attempt to decipher facts. Facts are data, they form the fabric of reality, but like Gould said, Einstein s theory of gravitation replaced Newton s, but apples did not suspend themselves in mid air, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from apelike ancestors whether they did so by Darwin s proposed mechanism or by some other, yet to be discovered (Gould, 1981). In other words, Darwinism is a theory, but human genetics were, without a doubt, sown from the same seeds as apes, and even if another theory replaces Darwinism our ancestry will remain the ... • 6. Athena Greek Goddess With a battle cry through the kingdom of heaven and earth, she sprang from the head of Zeus. She is one of the most powerful goddess on Mount Olympus, representing war and the immortal spirit of wisdom. She never had a consort or lover, therefore, she is known as virgin Athena. She was the goddess of justice, wisdom, and protector and arts and literature. Her symbol is the owl which represents her wisdom. Athena was very unique in many different ways than other greek goddesses. The goddess Athena was not birthed by any women. The owl was a known representation of Athena s wisdom, knowledge, and inner light. The owl was to illuminate Athena s blind side and allowing her to seek the entire truth. Owls were widely associated with Athena s blessings, and Greek soldiers viewed the sight of owls before a battle as a symbol that the goddess was on their side. According to William Justus Raup from The tales of an Upstate NY birder, The Owl became associated with Athena because, the light that reflects off their eyes in the dark gave the appearance of an inner light or Wisdom and this is the most likely cause, a particular species of Owl was common on top of the Acropolis of Athens. Since that hilltop was dedicated to Athena, the Greeks took the fact that there were so many owls present as them being sacred to Athena. As a result, the Owl and Athena have been linked and the Owl has come to represent Wisdom in many later cultures. The owl of Athena represented her very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework And Process Essay Enterprise Wide Risk Management In order to effectively treat risk, firms must first apply a risk management framework and process. The enterprise wide risk management process provides a broad approach to address and manage all of an organizations risk. Furthermore, this technique is comprised of four components, lead and establish accountability, align and integrate, allocate resources, and communicate and report. When implemented together these components are the essential to achieving an organizations goals. Moreover, five risk managementsteps reinforce the enterprise wide framework process and begins with scanning the environment, identifying the risks, analyzing the risks, treating the risk and lastly, monitoring the risks to ensure they are being controlled and eliminated (Elliott, 2012). Banks in particular have a variety of risks which can be addressed using enterprise wide risk management techniques. For example, ABC Community Bank would be subject to a number of financial risks, including interestrate risk, liquidity risk, credit risk and price risk. With just 30 employees and one location, the organization is small and the company s ability to absorb financial risks and survive is improbable. Therefore, the organization must take the necessary steps to address the company s financial risks to ensure continuous survival and goal achievement. Seismic imaging technology: Seismic imaging is a tool that bounces sound waves off underground rock structures to reveal possible crude oil and natural gas bearing formations. Ultrasensitive devices named as geophones are used by the seismologists to record the sound waves as they echo inside the earth. • 9. Symbols In The Great Gatsby Research Paper Symbolism is a very important part in literature. Symbolism adds to a literary work in many ways. It helps readers get more involved in the story rather than just read it and not be involved in it. It also helps the readers get an idea of what the author wants them to get out of the story that they are reading. Symbolism is defined as the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities. There are many different works of literature that use symbolism and add to that literary work. Symbolism is a term associated with the work of late 19th century French writers who reacted against the descriptive precision and objectivity of realism and the scientific determinism of naturalism. This represents Gatsby s hopes and dreams for the future. Involuntarily I glanced seaward and distinguished nothing except a single green light, minute and far way, that might have been the end of a dock. When I looked once more for Gatsby he had vanished, and I was alone again in the unquiet darkness (21). Another symbol in the story is the Valley of Ashes. This represents the moral and social decay which results from the pursuit of wealth as the rich regard nothing but their own pleasure. It also symbolizes the plight of the poor who live among the ashes and lose their vitality as a result. The Valley of Ashes and how the rich regard nothing but their own pleasure relates to Tom in the story because he becomes jealous when Gatsby starts to fall in love with Daisy again. Tom has an affair with Myrtle and when Tom finds out about the affair that Gatsby and Daisy have he sets up Gatsby and tells Wilson that Gatsby was driving the yellow sports car that killed his wife. In reality it was Tom that was driving the car that killed Myrtle. I spoke to her, he muttered, after a long silence. I told her she might fool me but she couldn t fool God. I took her to the window with an effort he got up and walked to the rear window and leaned with his face pressed against it and I said God knows what you ve been doing, everything you ve been doing. You may fool me, but you can t fool God! (159). The faded visage of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg s gaze at the sad escapades of the novel s characters has naturally drawn attention (Hauhart). • 12. Imagery of Disease in Hamlet by William Shakespeare Essay Imagery of Disease in Hamlet by William Shakespeare The disease imagery in Hamlet serves to constantly remind the reader of the initial problem in the play: King Hamlet s poisoning by his brother. After hearing his father graphically describe the murder, it is constantly on Hamlet s mind. For this reason, many of the images that Hamlet creates in the play are connected with disease and poison. The literal poisoning becomes symbolic of the rest of the events of the play. Remember that poisoning through the ear can be taken literally or figuratively (through speech and lies). Look at Polonius s conversation with Ophelia about Hamlet, Claudius lies to Laertes and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. There are examples of decay imagery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, he said that it was questionable whether Ophelia took her own life, or accidentially fell in the water. I wanted to respond to Tom s posting on Christian imagery in Hamlet. I thought he brought up some interesting points that I had overlooked in my reading. The idea of the Ghost of Hamlet as a parallel to the Holy Ghost is obvious to me. I agree with Tom in his description of what the Holy Ghost (spirit) is meant to be to us Christains. Along those same lines, the Ghost of Hamlet seems to have the same purpose in this play. He speaks to Hamlet without ever saying a word. He seems to guide him in his quest to revenge his death. Just as Christians are taught to feel the presence of the Holy Ghost, Hamlet feels the presence of his father s Ghost. In the scene where he is argueing with Gertrude, Hamlet stops when he feels his father s ghost. I believe he indeed felt his presence before he say him. There is no evidence in the text to support my claim, but it is just an interpretation I have. Another reference I like is our saviour s birth is celebrated , (1672, line 140). This also to me shows how King Hamlet is often viewed as Christ like. There seems to be a constant parallel between Christ and Hamlet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Today, while most Mexican Americans live in urban areas, significant numbers comprise both the north and south, across the United States. However, one misconception is that all Spanish or Latino cultures are the same. The differences between Mexico and other Latin American countries include 500 years of separate histories and their specific customs. These specific customs were present prior to their submission to the Spaniards. Although Spanish is the principal language spoken by most Hispanics, regional pronunciations and dialects differ in their speech patterns. Similarly, the Mexican cultures each have different dietary patterns. The traditional Mexican American diet is rich in a variety of foods and dishes that represent a blend of cultures. Primarily, pre Columbian, indigenous Indian, Spanish, French, and more recently, American culture. Traditional diets reflect the geographic regions of Mexico and the availability of local fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy products, and protein sources. Tap water is often unsafe in Mexico new immigrants may need to be reassured that U.S. tap water is safe. The family unit is the single most important social unit in the life of Hispanics. Most people probably imagine an American Flag, maybe some are thinking of their home, but one thing that will not be far from everyone s mind when they think of America, is democracy. Democracy is one of the foundations of our country, and is one of the thousands of things that make America a free nation. • 30. The Social Discourse Of Bipolar Disorder The social discourse of bipolar disorder is often punctuated by the classic manic episodes manifesting as symptoms such as distractibility, pressured speech, decreased need for sleep, euphoric mood, grandiosity, and problems with impulse control [17]. These classic periods of high energy are often intertwined in a cyclical fashion with periods of depressive symptoms, much of the time meeting criteria for major depressive disorder, as well as periods with no symptoms [17]. The frequency by which a patient moves through these states varies greatly from weeks to months to as little as a few days, namely rapid cycling [17]. In addition to manic episodes, hypomanic episodes, characterized by similar symptoms but less severe symptoms than manic episodes, qualify the disease as bipolar II disorder instead of bipolar I which needs the criteria of manic episodes alternating with major depressive episodes [17]. Another subtype of bipolar disorder, cyclothymia, is characterized by depressive episodes that do not meet criteria for a major depressive episode but does consist of cycling with previously described hypomanic episodes [11]. While the stigma of manic episodes plagues patients with bipolar disorder, often the depressive episodes are what cause the most distress and impairment in daily functioning of patients with bipolar disorder [12]. Currently, a migraine is considered a neurovascular disorder that involves the trigeminovascular system, a nerve bundle responsible for various sensations in the face. According to Kalra (2007), the paroxysmal nature of a migrainesuggests that it might be related to mutations in the calcium channel gene rendering neurons unstable so they react to normal environmental stimuli abnormally initiating the migraine attack. Certain symptoms like the auravisual disturbances, numbness, and dizziness is thought to be the result of the reduction of potassium chloride, which decreases cortical activity and spreads to other cortices. Moreover, the trigeminal system is interconnected with various blood vessels, and once those nerves are stimulated, there is a change in the cell activity, blood flow and the local release of neuropeptides, including Substance P, nitric oxide, serotonin, and CGRP, which is a ... The malfunction leads to excessive thalamic activity that leads to the increased pain perception (Kalra 2007). What has been sympathy in the past, has become greed for more control, strength, and reverence from others. People have began to focus on being all knowing and dominating, rather than being just a friend. The conquest to gain more power has become a major influence on a person s actions; however, these actions are usually self destructive, leading to a person s downfall. Power is what drives people s actions, and eat people inside and out on their way to this ultimate goal. In the competition for power, only the people who best comprehend their environment and adapt appropriately can ultimately succeed.. The Mayor of Casterbridgefollows multiple different characters in a prison like society. In this society, there is a constant thirst for power, and a fight for this control. Each character tries to quench this desire in a different way, and ultimately many characters fail to reach this ideal situation. The characters in the novel are very driven in their ways that there is a limited change in the fight for power. Many argue that in order to have possession of all this power, one must be familiar about all aspects of society, rather than being distant. In his novel The Mayor of Casterbridge, Thomas Hardy argues this belief. Through the character of Farfrae, the goldfinch, and the isolated death of Henchard, Hardy advocates that innocence results in an expansion of power and self control. Donald Farfrae s personality ... Business Model And Strategic Plan Part II Business Model and Strategic Plan Part II: SWOTT Analysis Paper According to Colbert, a SWOT analysis can assist a company by viewing and examining internal and external concerns; therefore it is a useful tool to make concise strategic decisions for various periods (2015). The first aspect pertains to the strengths that a corporation faces from all sources by scrutinizing how the company handles situations (Colbert, 2015). Weaknesses focuses on areas that need to be addressed whether on a large or individual scale to evaluate what courses of actions can be taken to expand on improvement (Colbert, 2015). The third category of the analysis centers on opportunities that a business can emphasize within their respective industry or the professional environment (Colbert, 2015). The last section views risks that can develop from outside competitors or any problems that might arise from any influential source; therefore it is imperative that a business entity utilizes threat factors because it can assist in identification and problem resolution to deal with the issue at hand whether past or present (Colbert, 2015). A falling dollar does two things: * Makes foreign imports more expensive * Makes US exports cheaper on the world market The chain reaction not only increases sales of U.S. goods around the world but also creates more jobs for Americans. The end result increases the profits of U.S. multinationals. And that s just the half of it. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Floating exchange rates have their benefits and downsides as well. The benefits of a floating rate are: The currency becomes worth more when the demand increases. If a country s economy (GDP) is on a steady track, the currency is valued at a high rate. A country does not have to worry about its gold or other materials value since the currency value can vary for other market related issues. This means not having to worry about keeping such large quantities of a reserve in the central bank. These rates change faster then a fixed rate. Here is an example of what happens if a country is on a floating system. If demand for a currency is low, its value will decrease, thus making imported goods more expensive and thus stimulating demand for local goods and services. This in turn will generate more jobs, and hence an auto correction would occur in the market. A floating exchange rate is constantly changing. (Investopedia.com) In the above we can see that as much as it is negative to have a currency with little value, it can in turn create a positive outcome. Employment can rise, people spend, and eventually the economy stabilizes again. The cycle starts all over with the currency having a high value again. The downside to floating rates follows: If the market is on a downward shift, the currency can be as well. The central bank does not have as much control to control the ... Queen Vashti was the daughter of King Nebuchadnezzar and was very self seeking and stubborn. She was also very beautiful, which in some ways was her downfall, for during the concluding week of the great feast, King Xerxes demanded Queen Vashti come before him and have her beauty paraded before his guests. Queen Vashti refused to come and be humiliated in this manner, for it was not proper for a woman to appear before a room of men.
