Othello Iago Essay
Writing an essay on the intricacies of the relationship between Othello and Iago is a task that
requires a deep understanding of Shakespearean literature, psychological analysis, and critical
thinking. One must delve into the complexities of each character, their motivations, and the
interplay of themes such as jealousy, manipulation, and betrayal.
Crafting such an essay demands not only familiarity with the text itself but also the ability to
contextualize it within the broader themes of Shakespearean tragedy. Moreover, it necessitates
the skill to dissect the characters' actions and dialogues, exploring their underlying motives and
the consequences of their choices.
Navigating through the labyrinth of Othello and Iago's relationship requires a keen eye for detail
and an analytical mind capable of unraveling the layers of deceit and manipulation woven
throughout the play. It demands careful consideration of the cultural and historical contexts in
which the characters operate, as well as an appreciation for the timeless themes that Shakespeare
explores.

National Parks And National Parks
I m going to sue him, says Yvon Chouinard, founder and CEO of outdoor gear
maker Patagonia. I think it s a shame that only 4% of American lands are national
parks...We need more, not less. This government is evil and I m not going to sit
back and let evil win. (CNN) This is among the same opinion of many Americans in
the United States(US) today. When it comes to protecting and preserving our
National parks we must strive in order to protect the wildlife, preserve it from
industry, and to keep it is a part of America s past and future.
Protecting Wildlife We must work as a team with our park rangers in order to
protect the wildlife from what harm could and may come to the wildlife, Not only for
them, but for ourselves. We protect to promote biodiversity, keep them as natural and
undisturbed as possible, and National Parks are beneficial to humans.
Promote biodiversity We must be striving to keep protecting animals from harm
through National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries. When we are able to do this
successfully then we are able to have biodiversity. Biodiversity is, according to
Merriam Webster, the variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or
ecosystem. When a ecosystem, for example National Park is an example, is
flourishing it is because of biodiversity; it is truly a beautiful sight. When we are
able to create a well working environment it all thanks to diversity. When you walk
into a National Park and you are able to see the beautiful flowers
A Flat Tax Is A System Of Taxation
A flat tax is a system of taxation that taxes at a uniform rate, regardless of income
level. In the United States we currently use a progressive tax system, meaning that
high income earners pay taxes at a higher rate than low income earners. A flat tax
rate is a tax system with a constant marginal rate, which is applied to individual
income. There are various taxsystems that are labeled a flat tax even though they are
significantly different. A true flat rate tax is a system of taxationwhere one tax rate is
applied to all personal income with no deductions. A flat tax is a tax that is applied
at a consistent rate with no variables in its application. In contrast with progressive or
regressive taxes, where the rate that is applied... Show more content on

In the true sense of the word, these are actually progressive tax plans, but they fall in
between the current progressive plan and a strictly constant marginal rate.
PROS
1.Simplicity considered a significant benefit of the flat tax system. One tax rate
makes for easy computation by the Internal Revenue Service and straightforward
payments from taxpayers.
2.Because the flat tax taxes only one income, it is easier to understand and to report.
3.The flat tax eliminates global taxation and allows the United States to compete
more evenly in global markets.
4.This tax system does not discriminate based on income level; everyone pays the
same percent of income.
5.An advantage of a flat tax is that no one receives special treatment; all people
whether poor or rich are taxed in exactly the same way.
6.Would result in considerable savings to all parties; the time and energy businesses
and individuals spend annually in preparing tax forms would be greatly reduced, as
would the costs to the government of collecting revenue.
7.The Internal Revenue Service could be substantially downsized.
8.For tax payers, the financial cost of complying with regulations set by the IRS is
high.
9.With a flat tax system, a section of the tax code biased against capital formation,
death tax, capital gains tax and double taxation of savings and dividends would be
removed.
10.A flat tax will only tax earned income.
11.Professional tax
Instructional Programs For Technology Education
To develop meaningful instructional programs for technology education, goals need
to be in place to direct the outcomes of curriculum development and teaching. They
go beyond everyday teaching objectives; they are directed at long term learning and
programmatic outcomes.
Performance standards measure how much of the content the student is proficient.
Opportunity to learn standards ensure the learning is student focused, everyone has a
right to education and that education should be learner centered. For an educational
technology standard to be most effective it needs to recognize these three standards.
International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has accomplished this with
its National Educational Technology Standards (NETS). The standards provided by
NETS provide a comprehensive set of goals to encourage a technology integrated
education.
Introducing educational technology into the developing world is multidimensional
and requires many basic issues to be recognized and addressed. It is becoming
recognized that telecentres and the use of ICT in developing countries to assist in
meeting the Millennium Development Goals is becoming increasingly viable.
Focus Area #1: Technology Operations and Concepts
Throughout this program, you have developed your technical skills by using various
tools, applications, hardware, and software such as the Internet, Microsoft Word,
Excel, and PowerPoint. You have also used a Web editor along with other Web based
The Arrow s Black Poison
I ride faster, trying to get away from the pack of Orcs pursuing me. Their spiked
armour hides most of their ugly form, but their appearance still sends chills down
my spine. I see the Mithril gate of Lithien ahead of me. The Elven signal of a
golden tree shines in the afternoon sun. The gate begins to slowly open and I look
behind me as an Orc shoots his black arrow into my side. My blood seeps through
my white dress and I cry out in pain. The Orc laughs, satisfied that it has hit his
target. The arrow s black poison works it s way through my veins, turning the one s
around my wrist black. The silver colored gate shuts behind me and guards clothed
in blue armour tend to my restless horse. I force a smileat one of them, collapsing off

room I am in. Even how the sheets and blankets were tucked in around me give me
the obvious answer.
Good to see you re finally awake. A sweet and comforting voice says from beside me.
I turn my head to see Luthias perched on a chair beside my bed, looking tired. He

I was almost here, I could of made it if I wasn t wearing that stupid wedding dress.
He laughs at my response. It warms my heart. Luthias then grows serious and frowns.
I was worried. I stared at him not quite knowing what to say. Why?
You could of died. The arrow was poisoned. I now feel slightly embarrassed about
being wounded in the first place. Well, I m okay, I tell him. He stands up and moves
towards me. His hand comes down lightly to caress my face and he smiles fondly.
Let us hope you stay that way. Luthias says before leaning down to place a small
kiss against my lips.
I don t want to have to let you go Laerune.

Homestuck Research Paper
Andrew Hussie: Taking Comics to a Different Level As someone who loves bright,
colorful visuals and dramatic design, graphic novels and comic books are some of
my favorite things to read. Web comics are one of the more accessible types of
comics, since they are generally free and can be read entirely online, and they
usually take the same form paper comics have taken for years: images arranged in
a grid on one standard size page. While this layout of comics is perfectly fine and
has been for decades, it doesn t take full advantage of the web format. Coded
webpages present a nearly endless number of ways to manipulate the images,
allowing artists to tell their stories in new and exciting ways, and yet most people
stick to the same format that s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That process is more than exemplified in his making of his most successful comic,
Homestuck. At over 8000 pages long, with over 800,000 words of narration and
dialogue, Homestuck is the longest web comic in existence, and according to Hussie
was started with little more planning than the thought it s a story about kids in houses
. Along with this, Homestuck is a story that goes beyond the traditional comic format,
becoming a truly multi media experience spanning the entire internet and beyond,
influenced by the massive community that became involved with it over its 7 year
span. Besides just still images, Hussie s comic is filled with colorful animations in
many of its panels, along with videos and interactive games accompanied by a
wide array of music. In fact, over 26 albums total were produced by Hussie s web
store turned record label for the comic. This is something that, while other artists had
likely attempted it in some way, no other comic had had such a large success with,
and in turn had such a wide influence on the web comic community. Beyond just the
images on the page, Hussie also manipulates webpages themselves, going as far as to
completely change the color and format of the page to manipulate the narrative
mechanic and add to the story, as shown in the pictures
The Things I Carry My Homework
In a literal, physical sense, I carry headphones, chap stick and my house keys with
me everywhere I go. The clothes I wear, my wallet, all of my receipts that I keep
for unknown reasons and my AP English homework are other things among the
list. I carry the bags under my eyes, which have varying weights depending on the
day. For good luck I carry a picture of my oldest brother and I at my second birthday
party with me. I carry my old and dirty grey converse as well as a bright orange
shirt for P.E. I carry myself, above everything else. The heavier things to carry,
however, are often things I can t actually touch. These things seem heavier because it

A Modest Proposal Rhetorical Analysis
In A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift, Swift writes about a solution to the poor
and starving people in Ireland in 1729. His solution is to fatten up the poor kids and
sell their meat to the rich. Swift backs up his opinion with data and statistics that
support his solution. All the rescreach and numbers almost makes the solution seem
like a real solution. However, this is an extreme version of satire. While most people
who read A Modest Proposalrecognize the satire, other works do not make it so
obvious. Satire can be used in many different types of ways and it can be the driving
piece in a novel. Satire is mostly used to exploit problems in social or political issues.

Political and social satire go hand in hand in showing examples of the past and the
future. While social satire mainly focus on the current problems of society, political
satire can represent a warning about the future. Both types are important to learn and
understand when reading works involving satire. Putting a light on satire will help
people understand satire better. Educating students about satire in schools starting at
a young age will allow for students to grow up with a better understanding of satire.
Satire can play such an important role in novels that it is essential that everyone
understands the concept. Understanding satire will allow for people to see different
viewpoints of today s society through the authors eyes. Satire can add humor to a
piece, yet that humor can be revealing something much different. It is important for
people to be able to differentiate from the two. People first need to understand satire
to see the historical importance of it or understand the hidden warning it can
Midsummer s Night Dream Concert Report
After an amazing performance of the concerto, Heidi Van Hoesen Gorton left the
stage and the rest of the orchestra came back to play selections from Mendelssohn s
Midsummers Night Dream. The first movement they started with was Scherzo. The
start was a very light, quiet and fast melody flute with smaller intervals. The tempo,
as stated in the title is very fast paced and the melody contained many shorter duration
notes. The clarinets then repeat the melody. After the flutes have melody again, but
more instruments join, increasing the dynamic level. Interval jumps in the middle of
phrases put emphasis on the down beats, giving the clear impression of a compound
time signature. After this section, the low woodwinds play a figure with descending...

The movement starts with a brass fanfare with triplet figures. This part was very
light, short, and bright. The strings then played the main theme of the song and the
rest of the orchestra joins. This melody was very flourished with trills in the phrase.
Everything was crisp and light and the timpani provided support to the main melody.
The brass section then joins the melody and crash symbols add emphasis to the
melody. Accented percussion gave it a sense of grandiose. The melody continues to
repeat and then a new melody was introduced in the upper voices. Other instruments
join the melody and this repeated for some time. After this section the main theme of
the song was played again. Then, the dynamic drops all of the sudden and it switches
to a much more lyrical melody. The melody contained longer note durations and was
very legato. Smaller intervals make it much more smooth. Other instruments play a
ostinato underneath with faster duration notes to push the phrase. The brass fanfare
then comes in and is played underneath the melody. This serves as a transition back to
the main theme. The fanfare is then played again and flute trill was being played
underneath and then there is a ritardando until the
Corruption In I Claudius
I, Claudius is a fictional autobiography written in the voice of the fourth Roman
Emperor, Tiberius Claudius Drusus Nero Germanicus Claudius for short. The story
recounts the period of the founding of the Roman Empire to the coronation of
Claudius himself; but, as seen from the perspective of Claudius an adamant
republican the Roman Empireis one that is doomed to fall, prophesied by the Sibyl
of Cumae, due to political instability and dangerous power struggles. Similar to the
Roman Empire of I, Claudius, the Britain of King Lear also falls into a state of
political chaos akin to anarchy; the sudden abdication of Lear and his senility
ultimately bring about the unravelling of his family, followers, and kingdom. The
following power struggles in Rome and Britain lead to the corruption of many
individuals in their respective time periods. Both I, Claudius by Robert Graves and
King Lear by William Shakespeare, set during times of political turbulence, suggest
that the competition for and possession of power can corrupt and alter individuals
and society. Both works are set in times of political turbulence, times in which people
would seize the opportunity to gain absolute power or at least an upper hand over
others. In I, Claudius, Livia, Claudius grandmother, proves to be an incredibly
ambitious woman, with the political acumen to match. Before the birth of the Roman
Empire, the Second Triumvirate, consisting of Mark Antony, Lepidus, and Octavian
(at that time), ruled the

Water Supply At Risk Of Depletion
Water is a crucial component to sustain human, animal, and plant life. When a
problem that puts water supply at risk of depletion is encountered, people should
concern themselves with the inevitable detrimental effects of water shortage.
California inhabitants are currently faced with this problem. Although all of
California s citizens have some awareness to California s drought issue, many are
oblivious to the drought s severity. They continue to leisurely use water due to
assumptions that the drought is short term or that the lack of water is normal because
the state is a desert. However, evidence clearly supports that California s drought is
drastic. In Storms, Drought and California s Water Situation: Key Points, the article...

Fortunately, there is a solution, and it can be implemented in every household in
California. A greywatersystem is a noteworthy solution, although extremely unknown
to the general population. Greywater is generally known as water that has already
been used from different household appliances such as the kitchen sink and laundry
machine, but excludes water from the toilet. It constitutes 50 80% of the total
household wastewater (Li 3439). Greywater makes up the majority of a home s
wastewater. As a result, the greywater system focuses on recycling the wastewater in
order to promote water conservation. In About Greywater Reuse, the article explains
that the system recycles greywater by trying to find a way to pipe it directly outside
and use it to water ornamental plants or fruit trees. In addition, the system provides
homeowners a convenient way to complete the daily chore of watering their plants.
The greywater system is innovative and provides homeowners a chance to contribute
to California s relief from its drought. Although unknown to many, the greywater
system proves to be the most promising solution to preserving California s water
supply with its benefits to homeowners and ability to conserve large quantities of
water. There is already a plethora of solutions to California s drought that people are
more aware of than the greywater system. One solution that has been persistently
advocated is to simply reduce daily water
William Shakespeare s The Absurd Theatre
In regard to time and place in the absurd theatre, it is noted that these two elements
have their peculiarities that go with the absurd actions. Just as time and place are
fundamental elements of man s existence, they are also fundamental elements in
literature. The time and place of man s living may contribute not only to his
personality, but also to his values, attitudes, and even his problems. In literature,
time and place can also influence characters development and actions. So narrative
writing needs time and place to give the story context. The details of time and place
reflect the characters inner thoughts and feelings and move the story plot forward.
Time may be static in some stories and dynamic in others. Place is often used to
refer to the social milieu in which the events of a work of art occur. In brief, the two
elements of time and place are extremely important to any narrative. They can have
immense effects on the plot and the characters. Furthermore, they can establish the
atmosphere, or mood, of a story. Spatial and temporal relations are interconnected.
Time and place in absurd theatre are almost different from traditional drama because
they are usually ambiguous and not fixed. Both are not used in their logical and
traditional form. Eugene Ionesco seems to summarise these relations in the absurd
theatre: The universe seems to me infinitely strange and foreign. At such a moment I
gaze upon it with a mixture of anguish and euphoria; separate from the

Amy Lowell s most common themes are love, helplessness, loneliness and sex.
The theme of loneliness is apparent in her poem, Madonna of the Evening Flowers.
When the narrator is distanced from her lover she feels alone and lost without the

But the house is very quiet, The sun shines in on your books, On your scissors and

I go about searching. Then I see you, Lowell explores the theme of helplessness for
love in The Taxi. Summed up by this quote Why should I leave you? To wound
myself upon the sharp edges of the night. This releases helplessness feeling that the
narrator cannot function

Akhenaten Sun God Analysis
The Author s (Akhenaten, the sun God) purpose was that Akhenaten wanted
everyone to only believe and worship one god. He wanted everyone to trust in only
one God, and that God of course, was Aten the sun god. The story of Aten was that
he wanted to change everyone s beliefs into the same as his own.The people of
Egypt was forced to change from a polytheistic religion, the worship of many gods.
He believed that all good things are connected to the sun, in which is said to create
life and well being. He achieved the purpose by changing people s beliefs but soon
after he died, his ideas were abandoned and and people moved back to their original
city. Even though Akhenatens son tried to keep the religion going.

Akhenaten sees the sun as his one and only god and for example Christians they
see God as their one and only god. Aten is the sun god and Akhenaten walks the
reader through his belief of what his god does. The short story is trying to persuade
the readers to worship Aten and become monotheistic (which means to worship only
one God, similar to Christianity). The poem is trying to persuade the readers to pick
a certain God they want to follow. So in comparison between the short story and
poem is to only worship one God.
This Hymn could take place at any point in time because Aten is everlasting. Even if
there was a great revelation happening, Akhenaten would attribute it to Aten.
However, the setting would change the entire tone of the hymn. This hymn deals
with things that are new and glorious, but if one were to change the setting to a
revelation, it would deal with death and destruction. The only major difference
between the story and the poem is that in Rebellion you are free to choose what god
you would want to follow, but in the story Akhenaten forces his people to give up
other gods in order to only worship

In the late 1700 s and early 1800 s the United States was in a transformation from
the Jeffersonian vision of an agricultural nation, into Alexander Hamilton s vision of

of what America was like during the Early Republic period. The industrial life would

Children would work long twelve hour shifts for pennies, and would grow so tired

the children were affected while working during the industrial revolution. During
1834 and 1836 Harriet Martineau, a British feminist and abolitionist, visited
America and enthusiastically embraced the social implications of the Industrial

and said the United States contradicted the principles of the Declaration of
Independence. She did believe though with some progress that it could become
New England s new industrial order. One of the Mill factories Martineau visited,
Waltham Mill, was a prime example of the scheduled lifestyle of women mill
workers. Women Mill workers of all ages worked at Waltham Mill, which I
compared to a boarding school because of their strict schedules. The ladies had a
time to wake up, to be at work, to eat, and to go to school. A lot of women did not
mind the harsh conditions they lived and worked in because they fought for their
equality of rights for a long time now. Sam Patch was a great Mill Spinner and this

It s becoming more common for the top athletes being advertised in commercials

Breast Cancer And Cancer Awareness Essay
Breast Cancer Advertisements
1) Criteria for Comparison Cancer that starts in the tissues of the breast is known
as breast cancer. Breast cancer is a potentially deadly disease that is one of the
major causes of cancer related deaths among women. One woman in fourteen will
contract breast cancer during her lifetime and one in twenty one will die of it
(Fallowfield, Clark 1991). The national breast cancer awareness is vastly known
throughout the entire month of October in the United States. The goal of the
campaign is to bring attention to breast cancer throughout the entire month, help
women get educated, and raise awareness. The awareness campaigns offers the
perfect opportunity to briefly review what breast awareness means, and how to
promote it in primary care (Edwards, 2008). This paper will focus on two
advertisement about breast cancer awareness, the effectiveness of two different
advertisement are used to persuade their targeted audiences, and how differently
they are being used to promote breast cancer awareness. The first ad Obsessed with
Breasts is a public awareness campaign print ad that was launched in 2000, by The
Breast Cancer Fund which is an eight year old non profit group based in San
Francisco in response to the public health crisis of breast cancer. The Breast Cancer
Fund also identifies and advocates for elimination of the environmental and other
preventable causes of the disease (Breast Cancer Fund, 2014). The advertisements

The Blue Mask by Lou Reed
Lou Reed s, The Blue Mask
Although the visionary singer, song writer, Lou Reed, gained his fame in the 70 s,
he reached the highest peak of his career with the album The Blue Mask, in which he
explored the elements of human flaws. With this album, he stripped down from his
dramatic work in the 70 s and explored new techniques along with his small, tight knit
band. The Blue Mask received excellent reviews from critics and consumers
because it allowed listeners to have a personal connection with Reed and showed
them a different side apart from the public persona. Overall, the achievements and
praise were well deserved for the hard work he and his band put in.
Lou Reed, a New York native, attended the University of Syracuse and studied
poetry and journalism. He later became the lead singer for the band, Velvet
Underground during the 60 s. He is commonly known today as the one who started
the punk rock era and also brought a stormy dissonance to the foreground, helping
to expand the vocabulary of the electric guitar (Rolling Stone Bio). He broke away
from his partnership with Velvet Underground and headed for England in pursuit of
a solo career. Over a decade later, he released the album, The Blue Mask.
The Blue Mask was under the direction of RCA Records and was originally
distributed on a 12 inch vinyl stereo gramophone record. RCA Records owned the
phonographic copyrights, as well as regular copyrights. Lou Reed produced the entire

To The University Of London By Phillis Wheatley Essay
Young adulthood is a period of immense physical, spiritual and intellectual growth,
especially for those fortunate enough to attend an institution of higher learning.
Despite this growth, college students may decide to turn their back to their
spirituality in favor of a logical and temporal existence. 18th century African
American writer Phillis Wheatleydelivers a positive religious message in her poem
titled To the Universityof Cambridge, in New England that as a Christian college
student, I appreciate. In this poem, Wheatley urges students to remain dedicated to
their studies, but to also to have an appreciation of their own morality and the
importance of escaping sins eternal presence. Wheatley begins her poem by invoking

Amid her poem addressed to the University of Cambridge, several other themes
develop. Compassion, for one, is established as Wheatley talks about the
compassion and mercy of God. For saving her from Africa and enslavement, as
well as for sending Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of humanity, Wheatley
expresses her belief in a loving and compassionate God (Wheatley, 5 6 and 14 20).
Morality is another significant theme in this poem. Wheatley is advising students
to follow the moral high road when she says: Improve your privileges while they
stay/ Ye pupils, and each hour redeem, that bears/ Or good or bad report of you in
heav n (Wheatley, 21 23). The entire poem is concerned with religion and matters of
moral goodness and sin, as such faith is another important theme present. Faith is
obviously very important to Wheatley as she credits her rescue to God and feels
compelled to advise educated minds to recall their faith while they acquire more
knowledge (Wheatley,
The Technical And Management Challenges At Big Data...
1. Abstract: Inventions in technology and excessive use of digital devices have
presided over today s Age of Big Data, in Three V s of data. These data allows the
users to enhance the social security, understand the existing systems and to track
improvement progress. For example, transforming Big Data (banking
transactions, call records, online user created data like Tweets and blogs, online
searches, etc.) into useful data needs computational methods to reveal structure
among and inside these very big socioeconomic data. The data driven management
is now familiar and there is increasing interest for the concept of Big Data .
Currently there is a gap between its insight and its potentials of Big Data. This
paper highlights five steps in analysis of big data and discusses what has already
been done. This paper also list out the technical and management challenges in Big
Data analysis. We begin by considering the five stages in the pipeline, then move
on to the challenges, and end with a conclusion. 2. Introduction Today data is
being flooded in all means as it is being collected in unprecedented ways. Decisions
which were taken by way of guesswork and difficult models can now be made on
the base of data itself. Big data analysis can be dream on every aspect of today s
society Mobile services, manufacturing, retail, life sciences, financial services and
physical sciences. Big Data has the potential to revolutionize scientific research,

Disadvantages Of Eye Surgery
There are many individuals who suffer from eye conditions that force them to wear
contact lenses and glasses as means of correcting their vision. In such cases, the
problem is usually with the shape of the lens in the eye, and the used of an extra lens
makes it much easier for people to focus.
However, there are other technologies that can be used for the same conditions. For
instance, the use of the latest eye surgery technology can help you achieve much
better results as compared to using the special lenses mentioned above. The only
thing that deters many people from using laser is the fact that most of them think
that it is a very expensive procedure, and that it may involve a lot of pain. However,
the latest eye surgery technology is not associated with such things, nowadays this
procedure has become more popular making it affordable to patients at lower prices.

In an eye vision surgery, the eye surgeons use a specialized laser that is designed
for operating eyes. This high tech laser is guided by a computer which helps to give
accurate results. Thus, this surgery is very precise and gives desired results to the
patients.
In laser correction eye surgery, the eye specialist or surgeon reshapes the cornea in
our eyes. This surgery helps patients suffering from myopia (nearsightedness),
hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. If you are suffering from eye or vision
problems, then you should immediately consult an ophthalmologist to help you out.
Always consult an experienced eye specialist who has access to the latest
technology and is well reputed in his or her community. For your eyes, if you need a
laser eye correction then your doctor will help you and guide you with the procedure.

Erving Goffman Stage Theory
In this essay, I will be explaining Erving Goffman s social concept called
dramaturgy, primarily focusing on the element of stage theory. I will also
incorporate Peter Borger s social construction of reality within the essay as it also
relates to stage theory. I will be describing what these concepts mean it my own
words, based off experiences in my own life, research that I have done, as well as
using the information that we gathered in class. Then we will be looking at college
students as a case study group, where we will go into greater detail to better
explain the stage theory concept and how the behavior of college students is
significantly dependent upon the stage and location they are in, as well as how
they are impacted deeply by society. Some of the information that I will be
gathering will come from a non academic source, which gives a brief descriptive
summary of college students and why they make a perfect fit for this stage theory
example. Lastly will be an analysis process of the information that I gathered about
the stage theory. This process also includes a summary of an academic source that
applies a variation of stranger theory and social construction of reality to a similar
case study.
The sociological concept called dramaturgy is very interesting and Erving Goffman s
idea is worth looking into on a deeper level to better understand it. I had previously
heard about the stage theory before this sociological theory class, but did not really
have a grasp as
How Did Classical Architecture Affect The Italian
Renaissance
The Italian renaissance was a time period that lasted from the fourteenth century to
the sixteenth century. Some of it s roots go back as far as the 1200s, but for the most
part began in the 1300s. The word Renaissance comes from the French word
Rinascimento which translates to Rebirth in French. Therefore the renaissancewas a
time of great change, or rebirth, for Italy, and many other European nations.
Everything from art to theater to architecture was affected. There wasn t a single
aspect that was left unchanged. It was the changeover from the Gothic era to Early
Modern Era. Although there were all these new ideas going around, they were ideas
based on classical teachings. This movement began in Tuscany but flourished in
Florenceand Sienna. The renaissance also effected Rome in a great way. The
renaissance revival was just as important in architecture as it was in other aspects of
the culture such as music and art. The Department of European Paintings at the
Metropolitan Museum of Art, state that the Italian Renaissance architects based their
theories and practices on Classical Roman examples. They go on to mention that
aspiring architects would take a pilgrimage to Rome to study the ancient buildings

Reflection On Math
Math has many different categories within itself and for this project, we had to
observe and solve problems on certain college placement tests. There were many
college placement tests to chooses from but I wanted to choose the college I want to
go to and the test that I wanted to answer. I chose the Monmouth Mathematics
Placement Test and Barton College Practice
Placement Test. For each one, we had to categorize how many questions were in each
type of math whether it was algebra, geometry, or calculus. The Barton test had 64
geometry problems and 16 trigonometry problems while the Monmouth test had 50
problems which were all algebra.
I answered the Barton test because I liked the different variety of algebra problems
it was consisted of. The Monmouth test I will do at a future date because that is
where I wanna go and it will help me practice math and help me pass their
placement test. I was actually surprised about both of their tests because I thought
they were gonna be a lot harder. Most of the problems seemed like Algebra 1 and I
believe I have excelled in that since freshman year. They both had problems on
their tests that were very easy and I did them fast and efficiently. A couple
problems were hard since I haven t had a refresher on that section of trigonometry,
but if I studied, I would have easily gotten them right. I felt confident with these
tests because even if i had only gotten a couple wrong, I would have still easily
passed. Also, it was even easier since
POlitical Campaign Advertising Essays
Since 1952, television has played a major role in presidential elections. Television
allows candidates to reach a broad number of people, and personalities, to help push
along their campaigns. Campaigns help the candidates just as much as the voters. The
candidates get to be identified, and known to the voters, and the voters get to hear and
see how a specific candidate identifies with their needs and wants. The best way to get
this information out there is through the most used form of media, television.
When candidates develop a plan of attack for campaign advertising, they tend to aim
for at least four types of commercials. One form or type of commercial is those

During the 2004 election, President Bush s campaign ads showed him to be a
leader and a strong president in a time when leadership was needed. Kerry s ad
showed him to be a people person, and a person who connects with the citizen of this
country.
Political parties also use ads that make there opponent out to be the bad guy, and
often these ads come from what their opponent has said in the past. Candidates use
information from the past to display the image that there opponent can not be
trusted and will go back on his or her word. This is typically called flip flopping .
When candidates make there opponent out to be a flip flopper, the opponent is
making things worst for themselves. The Republican Party ran a series of ads that
made Senator Kerry look like a flip flopper, and I think the overall effective ness of
those ads was a major factor in the election, but Senator Kerry also stated his claims
and told the voter how he fells on the very same issues that the republican party made
senator Kerry to look indecisive on.
Campaigns that are introducing a candidate to mainstream national coverage tend to
run ads that will show a candidates history and their background. These ads might
list what some might call the qualification needed to be in office. These ads usually
show a record of good decision making, leadership, honesty,

Why Is D-Day Significant
D Day, or Operation Overlord as it is often known, is by far the most significant
event and the most important turning point at the end of World War Two, and
perhaps even in the whole of 20th Century military history. The fact that it was the
largest naval, air and land invasion in history certainly speaks for itself, but this is
by no means the only reason why D Day was significant. There were certainly other
tremendously significant events as the war came to a close such as Stalingrad or El
Alamein though nothing quite compared to D Day. D Day was immensely
significant to the end of the World War Two for many reasons, one of the biggest and
perhaps most important being the fact that Hitler was forced into fighting a two front
war. By... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Aztecs lived in a very civilized world filled with amazing architecture, an
impressively complex government system, and they also employed intricate systems
of writing and calendric systems (Taube 7). The Calendar Stone was made by basalt

Because Aztec Indians were fervent astronomers, they tracked the stars and

consequently experience economic loss. Causation refers to whether the defendants
conduct (or omission), in this case The State Of Victoria, caused the resulting

for the purposefulness of attaching legal accountability. Another element that must
be proven is that it is applicable for the scope of the negligent persons liability to

is suitable to extend the scope of the defendant negligence to the harm caused to the

It has been stated that by companies giving and allowing their employees access to
many different types of technology while on the clock they are basically giving
permission to their employees to lose focus. It is believed that when employees are
accessing all these many different form of technology, they are more likely to make
mistakes because they are trying to multitask and stay connected with their social
lives while working. It can be seen as information overload when employees are
constantly connected because when they are always multitasking and connected with
all other things at home and at work, they are never really focused on one thing at a

not show adequate attention to the project. Information overload is not something
that employers want inside of the workplace because it hinders the employees ability

employees take a longer time trying to process the information that is being given to

Us Support And Agendas Within The Middle East
US support and agendas within the Middle East have been extremely complicated
in the last century. Starting with the backing of the Shah of Iran in the early 1950s
to the present day conflict in Syria, there appears to be no decision without adverse
secondary and tertiary effects. Since the Persian Gulf War, US policy has been fully
supportive of the Arabs and Turks while limiting official support for the Kurds in
Turkey, Iraq, and Syria. Nevertheless, unofficially, the US has fully supported the
Kurds militarily through the establishment of long term partnerships between
military forces. While always a point of contention with Turkey and the
Government of Iraq (GOI), the recent increase in support for Kurdish forces in
Syria to oppose the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) brought the issue to
the forefront. The time for US policy to withhold support for the Kurds is past due
to their critical role in the campaign against ISIL. The US attempted to establish a
coalition amongst the Turks and the Arabs but this has largely failed to turn the
tide of ISIL s advance. However, following the consistent successes of the Kurds
advance wresting control of northeastern Syria away from ISIL, it is a foregone
conclusion that the US requires an alliance with the Kurds if they wish to establish
some semblance of stability in the Middle East. In the end, can the US ethically and
morally provide support to the Kurds, ignoring requests from US allies in the region?
Dixon s Explanation For Democratic Peace
While it is well known that democratic states are just as likely to go to war as their
non democratic counterparts and that no two major democracies have been involved
in war, no one has been able to offer an explanation for why democracies are better
suited for peace. Dixon attempts to offer his own narrowed explanation due to
previous arguments being rendered invalid.
Literature Review Dixon realizes that in presenting an explanation for democratic
peace he must narrowly define the three core concepts that make up the argument:
democracy, norms, and peaceful settlement. He states that democracy cannot be
defined by the previous definitions provided by Dahl (1971), Lipset (1959), and
Powell (1982). His reasoning behind this is that democracies

Isaial 53 Research Paper
Introduction
Isaiah 53 is one of the most stand out chapters of the Old Testament and it hold one
of the greatest prophesies every written. For the ancient Israelites it was a chapter
that both held meaning for them in their times of struggle, but also told of the coming
of the messiah and gods plan of redemption. For us the Christians of today Isaiah
shows the trustfulness of god and that he will always keep his promises, it is a clear
referral to Jesus and every part is confirmed in the gospels. For me Isaiah 53 is a
CenterPoint of the bible that gives clear vision of the plan that god had for us and
how he would save us, it also gives a clear representation of what Christian walk is
like.
Them
The book of Isaiah was written about 800b.c during the time of the divided kingdom
of Israel and Judea. The main theme in Isaiah 53 is the theme of the suffering servant.
At the time many Israelites easily identified themselves with the image of the nation
of Israel being the suffering servant. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One particular verse that stands out to me, out of all the verses in Isaiah 53 is
verse six. Verse six seems to almost break the narrative of what the author is talking
about in the verses before and after. For me verse six really defines the life of a
Christian, we are like sheep who have moved away from god, we all have sin in
our lives and do things that are not what god wants for us, and nothing we do will
ever be enough to free ourselves, but through Jesus we are free from our inequities,
he was the only one who could take them and we are now free from our sin through
Jesus s sacrifice on the cross
The Importance Of Assertive Communication
Communication is a process of sending and receiving information among people.
Humans communicate with others not only by face to face communication, but also
by giving information by the internet and printed products such as books and
newspapers. Many people believe that the significance of communication is like the
importance of breathing (Hasan, 2015). Although this may be considered as true,
communication facilitates the spread of knowledge and forms relationships between
people. Communication is a very important aspect in all walks of life.
Communication helps to understand one another in the world in which we live and
it is key to success in relationships, in the workplace, as a citizen of this country, and
across a lifetime. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A good rule of thumb to remember is to always own your own feelings in your
communication (Block Negrine, 2017).
Current Situation Assertive
There are many reasons why people may act and respond in a non assertive way.
When people are not assertive they can suffer from a loss of confidence and self
esteem, which is more likely to make them less assertive in the future. People who
were getting assertiveness right often mistakenly viewed themselves as pushing too
hard and felt that they had crossed a line during negotiation. Those who mistakenly
thought that they transgressed this line attempted to make up for their over
assertiveness and agreed to less desired terms in an attempt to smooth things over
(Mur, 2017).
Specific Objectives Assertive
Assertive people tend to believe that their self and others are valuable. They
understand that assertiveness doesn t mean you always win, but that you handled
the situation as effectively as possible. Assertive people are also effective and
active listeners. They are known to expresses self directly, honestly, and as soon as
possible about feelings and wants. Some characteristics of assertive people include:
Observing behavior rather than labeling it, being confident, self aware, open,
flexible, versatile, decisive and proactive in decision making (Mur, 2017).

The History Of Soccer
Soccer is one of the most popular sports in Europe, North America, and South
America. Early evidence of soccer being played was found in China, it mostly
occurred in second and third centuries BC. During medieval times, it s thought that
kicking, punching, biting, and gouging was allowed in soccer. In 1365, King
Edward III banned soccer because of the frequency of violent incidents. In 1424, a
similar ban was made in Scotland, by King James I. This ever popular game has
been played for over 3,000 years, and keeps getting new and better adjustments.
The game of soccer took a big step forward in 1815. The English School and Eton
College came forth with a set of rules, known as the Cambridge Rules. This made it

Regulation fields are divided in half, with a halfway line. In the middle of the
halfway line, is the marked center of the field. Which is surrounded by a circle,
with a diameter of 20 yards. During a kick off, opposing players are not allowed
inside of this circle. A spherical shape is required for all soccer balls in any
professional or international game. It must be made of leather, or something very
similar to leather. The circumference of a soccer ball has to be between twenty
seven and twenty eight inches. Though, youth leagues often opt for a smaller ball,
due to the smaller size of their players. Generally, matches are played by a total of
twenty two players on the field at a time, eleven to a team, including the
goalkeeper. If there is not at least 7 players on the field at match time, they will
have to forfeit that game. Every soccer player has to wear socks(long enough to
cover the shin guards completely), cleats, shin guards, a jersey, and shorts. If a
player s equipment is deemed unfit by a referee, then that player will be taken out of
the game. That being said, a referee is the ultimate authority on a field. If a referee is
questioned, more often than not, further disciplinary action is
Open Nephrectomy
Open Nephrectomy: Nephrectomy (nephro = kidney, ectomy = removal) is the
surgical removal of a kidney. The procedure is done to treat kidney cancer as well
as other kidney diseases and injuries. The surgeon makes a cut (incision) in the
abdomen or in the side of the abdomen (flank area). A rib may need to be removed to
perform the procedure. The ureter (the tube that carries urine from the kidneyto the
bladder) and the blood vessels are cut away from the kidney and the kidney is
removed. The incision is then closed with stitches (National Kidney Foundation,
2015).

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Research Paper
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, widely regarded as one of the greatest composers in
the history of Western music (Sadie , 1) was an Austrian composer born in
Salzburg on January 27, 1756 to Leopold Mozart and Anna Maria, nГ©e Pertl, the
former of whom was an experienced music teacher and a minor composer in his
own right. Wolfgang Amadeus was the youngest of seven children, though only he
and his older sister also named Anna Maria, survived infancy. A child prodigy,
Mozart was often caught observing the keyboard lessons given to his sister, and by
the age of three could be seen:
picking out thirds, which he was ever striking, and his pleasure showed that it
sounded good.... In the fourth year of his age his father, for a game as it were,
began to teach him a few minuets and pieces at the clavier.... He could play it
faultlessly and with the greatest delicacy, and keeping exactly in time.... At the age
of five, he was already composing little pieces, which he played to his father who
wrote them down (Deutsch , 455) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

John Legend Research Paper
John Legend suggests you should love your curves and all your edges, all your
perfect imperfections, but for some reason people have a hard time accepting their
bodies. Everyday men and women struggle with their body image and accepting
how they look. They feel like if they do not look a certain way they are not good
enough and they will not live a happy life. People are constantly pressured to change
their bodies due to the standards of society and they are willing to do anything to
achieve this body of perfection.
Over time, society is putting more and more pressure on people about their body
image and how they should look. According to society, women ideally need to be thin
with flat stomachs to look good and be happy. Thus, the extent ... Show more content

Many people start with diets, but these diets do not have fast enough results, so they
turn to starvation, eating disorders, and extreme workouts. Among women,
internalization of the thin ideal has been linked to dietary restraint that may precede
eating disorders. Among men, internalization of the muscular ideal has been
associated with various strategies to increase muscularity (Gudnadottir 151).
Reaching the goal of society starts off as a simple diet. When the diet does not have
fast enough results, things become more extreme. Women start to starve themselves
by only eating once a day or only eating salad and not gaining all the nutrients and
vitamins their body needs to survive. They call this being healthy. Men, on the other
hand, begin to increase their serving sizes and go on an all protein diet to try to gain
as much muscle mass as possible. This is followed by extreme weight lifting at the
gym, and sometimes can lead to the use of steroids. In severe cases, men and
women both begin to develop eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa and binge
eating. Men and women do not realize the toll these extreme measures take on their
bodies. They think by becoming this way they are being healthy and improving their
overall health, but in reality, they are harming their bodies. However, these practices
could increase the
The Theory Of Regression Results
DESCRPTION OF REGRESSION RESULTS
In order to empirically examine the extent to which changes in price causes changes
in broiler (chicken) consumption, time series data was collected on 40 observations
extending from 1960 to 1999 on nine explanatory variables in total. I regressed this
data using an Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) approach. The main explanatory
variable used for my analysis was the consumer price index (CPI) for whole fresh
chicken with the base years denoted as the 1982 to 1984 time period. The
econometric model for my regression analysis is listed below:
Broiler Consumption = a+ОІ_(1 ) (CPI of broilers)+ ОІ_2 (income)+ ОІ_3
(population)+ОІ_(4 ) (CPI for beef)+ОІ_(5 ) (PPI for corn)+ ОІ_(6 ) (NPI for broiler
feed)+ОІ_7 (CPI)+ОІ_8 (AP of Broilers)+ОІ_9 (population)+ОІ_(10 ) (exports of
beef,veal and pork)+ Оµ
Data regarding my dependent variable was originally collected as pounds
consumed per capita. However, I multiplied the per capita broiler consumption
data by 100,000 to obtain broiler consumption in pounds per 100,000 people. In
this way, I was able to obtain a larger coefficient on a few of the variables, which
allowed for a more suitable display and discussion of the results in the paper. Further,
the objective of this analysis was to explain to what extent price of broilers (CPI on
whole fresh chicken) impacts broiler consumption in pounds. Specifically, the
coefficients on the explanatory variables illustrate their respective effects on the
number
The Peral by John Steinbeck
If a homeless man were to win a $1,000,000 lottery, how would he handle the
circumstance? In The Pearl, John Steinbeck depicts the story of Kino, a destitute
Mexican Indian male who devotes his life towards his wife and newborn son. He
discovers a great pearl that seems to have the potential to change his life for the
better; however, Steinbeck shows how Kino s discovery of a great fortune can lead
to disaster. The pearlinstalls greed in Kino as he desires to improve his social status,
and overall creates an evil corruption that destroys his family. The pearl has three
primary functions. It causes man to become more impulsively animalistic, shows
society s corruption; greediness; and jealousy, and provides a false hope, an illusion
that the pearl is infinitely valued, but in reality has no value at all.
The discovery of the great pearl influences Kino to be more animalistic. ...Kino s
fist closed over the pearl and his emotion broke over him. He put back his head and
howled. His eyes rolled up and he screamed and his body was rigid (Steinbeck 11).
Kino s excitement of this discovery leads to his an impulsive wolf like behavior,
howling, which shows the power of the pearl in triggering man s impulsiveness.
The pearl also installs paranoia in Kino, as he fears others stealing his prized
possession. ...a wild fear surged in Kino s breast, and on the fear came rage...he
sprang like an angry cat, leaped striking and spitting for the dark thing he knew was

Code Of Ethics In Managed Care
Managed Care Organizations (MCO) developed to maintain the financial
responsibility and the provision of care by instituiting the gatekeeper mentaliy
(Feldman et al. 1998). As primary care physicians maintained the role of the
gatekeeper, issuing referrals to patients as deemed necessary, physicians also became
uncomfortable in the given roles. In the beginning of medicine, physicians were
valued as the most moral member of society. However, as healthcare became more
business oriented with MCOs providing incentives for minimizing care, MCOs lost
the morality necessary for trust in healthcare.
Initially, physicians as a whole were not excited about the reform exhibited by the
managed care systems (Bereson 1991). In the article, Physician
Meursault Is The Outsider
Mother died today. Or maybe yesterday, I don t know. The opening and possibly the
most poignant line of Camus arguably existential novel is one which cannot but
shock. The line, delivered by the protagonist, Meursault, makes one wonder; how
could anyone not know when one s mother has died? His indifference is shocking. As
the title suggests, Meursault is an outsider, a stranger in society and that is what
makes the novelso intriguing. Published in 1942, The Outsider tells the story of an
emotionally isolated, unscrupulous man named Meursault, who fails to cry at his
own mother s funeral, does not believe in God and kills a man he barely knows
without any apparent purpose.
Divided into two parts, The Outsider deals with the life story of a young man living
in Algiers. It opens with the death of Meursault s mother and describes the events that
follow. The first part of the novel deals with what happens to Meursault in the
eighteen days after the death of his mother right through to his senseless murder of an
Arab on an Algerian beach. The section dealing with his mother s funeral actually
serves as an introduction into Meursault s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet his circumstances mould his perceptions of society and life, shaping his
consciousness, making him comes to terms with his own philosophy of life and to
finally make peace with himself. Meursault is definitely not a hero, he does not
pursue money or power nor does he have a true love affair but he is a fascinating
character. It is interesting to read a book about a character so far detached from
society s norms and values that his emotions (or there lack of) manage to shock.
Meursault is only an honest atheist, willing to accept life as it happens. Camus, like
his protagonist, is straight to the point in his story telling process, delivering an easily
and enjoyably read masterpiece in eleven short
My Life Of A Man
What grown some of the personal hate for the male community, were not the
humiliations or occasional beatings, when I was a teenager. From the seeming
innocent school times to the gruesome times in the military, I have spend an
enormous amount of time surrounded by men. Confused about my own gender and
not knowing any better, at the time, I ve tirelessly tried to learn and adapt to their
culture and adapt to be a man. I wanted to survive, to fit in, wanted to be just one of
the normal guys. As soon as I figured out, that instead of beauty, it is the
intelligence what men value the most. Computers were becoming a huge part of
everyones life, so I knew, that it was a great choice to learn everything about them.
I spent years studying them and soon enough, even as a child, I was good enough
to make more money than some of the adults in full time jobs. (Thank you Mr. Bill
Gates for developing Windows and establishing Microsoft!). Computer knowledge
proved to be very effective, because I quickly earned respect and was accepted in
successful male social circles. AT this point, the rest of the every day life, became
to me, like a game. As long as I played the ball , acted manly the doors were open to
me everywhere. By the time I got to the military, I was a pretty good actor and it
still ended up being some of the worst times in my life. Its not, that I hated military,
or what it stood for I volunteered to join, because I am idealist, someone, who
believed, that I must help
Mooseheart Case Study
Throughout my with Colleen Morgan, I had the opportunity to learn about the
aspects of an organization. For example, I learned about the macro level challenges
that Mooseheart is currently facing. Therefore, Ms. Morgan explained that the
macro level challenges that Mooseheart is currently facing is the problems with the
Department of Labor which required the organization about 4 5 months ago to
redefine their salary position because there was a requirement for an hour cap
(Colleen Morgan, personal interview, September 18, 2017). Furthermore, it is
indicated how this has impact the organization because making new policy of hour
requires to redefine work days and time off which is very complex.
In addition, when asked about what ways Mooseheart advocate for services and those
they serve, Ms. Morgan explained that they are not very political involved. However,
she further explains that Mooseheart significantly advocates for their youth in the
program for education services, dental services, health services and many other
services (Colleen Morgan, personal interview, September 18, 2017). Furthermore,
Mooseheart advocates for their staff and provides them benefit requirements for ...

Morgan discussed that the current (Illinois) state of affairs has effect your services.
For example, the big challenges of Mooseheart is that all youth are on the state
health care. Through the state health care, it makes it less possible for doctors to
provided services to the youth in the organization (Colleen Morgan, personal
interview, September 18, 2017).. Additionally, it requires less care for the children
because it is a longer waiting process and it requires second and third opinions.
Furthermore, if local doctors are not able to provide services to the youth then the
adjustment is for youth to go to Chicago to get the health services they need.
Furthermore, this indicated that the youth will have to miss school for health
services because the long process of going into

  • 2. National Parks And National Parks I m going to sue him, says Yvon Chouinard, founder and CEO of outdoor gear maker Patagonia. I think it s a shame that only 4% of American lands are national parks...We need more, not less. This government is evil and I m not going to sit back and let evil win. (CNN) This is among the same opinion of many Americans in the United States(US) today. When it comes to protecting and preserving our National parks we must strive in order to protect the wildlife, preserve it from industry, and to keep it is a part of America s past and future. Protecting Wildlife We must work as a team with our park rangers in order to protect the wildlife from what harm could and may come to the wildlife, Not only for them, but for ourselves. We protect to promote biodiversity, keep them as natural and undisturbed as possible, and National Parks are beneficial to humans. Promote biodiversity We must be striving to keep protecting animals from harm through National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries. When we are able to do this successfully then we are able to have biodiversity. Biodiversity is, according to Merriam Webster, the variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem. When a ecosystem, for example National Park is an example, is flourishing it is because of biodiversity; it is truly a beautiful sight. When we are able to create a well working environment it all thanks to diversity. When you walk into a National Park and you are able to see the beautiful flowers
  • 3. A Flat Tax Is A System Of Taxation A flat tax is a system of taxation that taxes at a uniform rate, regardless of income level. In the United States we currently use a progressive tax system, meaning that high income earners pay taxes at a higher rate than low income earners. A flat tax rate is a tax system with a constant marginal rate, which is applied to individual income. There are various taxsystems that are labeled a flat tax even though they are significantly different. A true flat rate tax is a system of taxationwhere one tax rate is applied to all personal income with no deductions. A flat tax is a tax that is applied at a consistent rate with no variables in its application. In contrast with progressive or regressive taxes, where the rate that is applied... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the true sense of the word, these are actually progressive tax plans, but they fall in between the current progressive plan and a strictly constant marginal rate. PROS 1.Simplicity considered a significant benefit of the flat tax system. One tax rate makes for easy computation by the Internal Revenue Service and straightforward payments from taxpayers. 2.Because the flat tax taxes only one income, it is easier to understand and to report. 3.The flat tax eliminates global taxation and allows the United States to compete more evenly in global markets. 4.This tax system does not discriminate based on income level; everyone pays the same percent of income. 5.An advantage of a flat tax is that no one receives special treatment; all people whether poor or rich are taxed in exactly the same way. 6.Would result in considerable savings to all parties; the time and energy businesses and individuals spend annually in preparing tax forms would be greatly reduced, as would the costs to the government of collecting revenue. 7.The Internal Revenue Service could be substantially downsized. 8.For tax payers, the financial cost of complying with regulations set by the IRS is high. 9.With a flat tax system, a section of the tax code biased against capital formation, death tax, capital gains tax and double taxation of savings and dividends would be removed. 10.A flat tax will only tax earned income. 11.Professional tax
  • 4. Instructional Programs For Technology Education To develop meaningful instructional programs for technology education, goals need to be in place to direct the outcomes of curriculum development and teaching. They go beyond everyday teaching objectives; they are directed at long term learning and programmatic outcomes. Performance standards measure how much of the content the student is proficient. Opportunity to learn standards ensure the learning is student focused, everyone has a right to education and that education should be learner centered. For an educational technology standard to be most effective it needs to recognize these three standards. International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has accomplished this with its National Educational Technology Standards (NETS). The standards provided by NETS provide a comprehensive set of goals to encourage a technology integrated education. Introducing educational technology into the developing world is multidimensional and requires many basic issues to be recognized and addressed. It is becoming recognized that telecentres and the use of ICT in developing countries to assist in meeting the Millennium Development Goals is becoming increasingly viable. Focus Area #1: Technology Operations and Concepts Throughout this program, you have developed your technical skills by using various tools, applications, hardware, and software such as the Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • 5. The Arrow s Black Poison I ride faster, trying to get away from the pack of Orcs pursuing me. Their spiked armour hides most of their ugly form, but their appearance still sends chills down my spine. I see the Mithril gate of Lithien ahead of me. The Elven signal of a golden tree shines in the afternoon sun. The gate begins to slowly open and I look behind me as an Orc shoots his black arrow into my side. My blood seeps through my white dress and I cry out in pain. The Orc laughs, satisfied that it has hit his target. The arrow s black poison works it s way through my veins, turning the one s around my wrist black. The silver colored gate shuts behind me and guards clothed in blue armour tend to my restless horse. Even how the sheets and blankets were tucked in around me give me the obvious answer. Good to see you re finally awake. A sweet and comforting voice says from beside me. I turn my head to see Luthias perched on a chair beside my bed, looking tired. He smiles warmly at me. I was almost here, I could of made it if I wasn t wearing that stupid wedding dress. He laughs at my response. It warms my heart. Luthias then grows serious and frowns. I was worried. I stared at him not quite knowing what to say. Why? You could of died. The arrow was poisoned. I now feel slightly embarrassed about being wounded in the first place. Well, I m okay, I tell him. He stands up and moves towards me. His hand comes down lightly to caress my face and he smiles fondly. Let us hope you stay that way. Luthias says before leaning down to place a small kiss against my lips. I don t want to have to let you go Laerune. You won t. Most would be worried if they found themselves in Lithien. They believe that the forest is evil, but there is a bit that is not and it is protected by the Saleth Elves. Lithien, once was a great forest north of the Erutan Mountains. But, once evil begin to lurk in the forest s shadows, the once great wood begin to perish and become sick. Only a few
  • 6. Homestuck Research Paper Andrew Hussie: Taking Comics to a Different Level As someone who loves bright, colorful visuals and dramatic design, graphic novels and comic books are some of my favorite things to read. Web comics are one of the more accessible types of comics, since they are generally free and can be read entirely online, and they usually take the same form paper comics have taken for years: images arranged in a grid on one standard size page. While this layout of comics is perfectly fine and has been for decades, it doesn t take full advantage of the web format. Coded webpages present a nearly endless number of ways to manipulate the images, allowing artists to tell their stories in new and exciting ways, and yet most people stick to the same format that s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That process is more than exemplified in his making of his most successful comic, Homestuck. At over 8000 pages long, with over 800,000 words of narration and dialogue, Homestuck is the longest web comic in existence, and according to Hussie was started with little more planning than the thought it s a story about kids in houses . Along with this, Homestuck is a story that goes beyond the traditional comic format, becoming a truly multi media experience spanning the entire internet and beyond, influenced by the massive community that became involved with it over its 7 year span. Besides just still images, Hussie s comic is filled with colorful animations in many of its panels, along with videos and interactive games accompanied by a wide array of music. In fact, over 26 albums total were produced by Hussie s web store turned record label for the comic. This is something that, while other artists had likely attempted it in some way, no other comic had had such a large success with, and in turn had such a wide influence on the web comic community. Beyond just the images on the page, Hussie also manipulates webpages themselves, going as far as to completely change the color and format of the page to manipulate the narrative mechanic and add to the story, as shown in the pictures

The clothes I wear, my wallet, all of my receipts that I keep for unknown reasons and my AP English homework are other things among the list. I carry the bags under my eyes, which have varying weights depending on the day. For good luck I carry a picture of my oldest brother and I at my second birthday party with me. I carry my old and dirty grey converse as well as a bright orange shirt for P.E. I carry myself, above everything else. The heavier things to carry, however, are often things I can t actually touch. • 9. A Modest Proposal Rhetorical Analysis In A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift, Swift writes about a solution to the poor and starving people in Ireland in 1729. His solution is to fatten up the poor kids and sell their meat to the rich. Swift backs up his opinion with data and statistics that support his solution. All the rescreach and numbers almost makes the solution seem like a real solution. However, this is an extreme version of satire. While most people who read A Modest Proposalrecognize the satire, other works do not make it so obvious. Satire can be used in many different types of ways and it can be the driving piece in a novel. Midsummer s Night Dream Concert Report After an amazing performance of the concerto, Heidi Van Hoesen Gorton left the stage and the rest of the orchestra came back to play selections from Mendelssohn s Midsummers Night Dream. The first movement they started with was Scherzo. The start was a very light, quiet and fast melody flute with smaller intervals. The tempo, as stated in the title is very fast paced and the melody contained many shorter duration notes. The clarinets then repeat the melody. After the flutes have melody again, but more instruments join, increasing the dynamic level. This part was very light, short, and bright. The strings then played the main theme of the song and the rest of the orchestra joins. This melody was very flourished with trills in the phrase. Everything was crisp and light and the timpani provided support to the main melody. The brass section then joins the melody and crash symbols add emphasis to the melody. Accented percussion gave it a sense of grandiose. The melody continues to repeat and then a new melody was introduced in the upper voices. Other instruments join the melody and this repeated for some time. After this section the main theme of the song was played again. Then, the dynamic drops all of the sudden and it switches to a much more lyrical melody. The melody contained longer note durations and was very legato. Smaller intervals make it much more smooth. Other instruments play a ostinato underneath with faster duration notes to push the phrase. The brass fanfare then comes in and is played underneath the melody. This serves as a transition back to the main theme. The fanfare is then played again and flute trill was being played underneath and then there is a ritardando until the
  • 11. Corruption In I Claudius I, Claudius is a fictional autobiography written in the voice of the fourth Roman Emperor, Tiberius Claudius Drusus Nero Germanicus Claudius for short. The story recounts the period of the founding of the Roman Empire to the coronation of Claudius himself; but, as seen from the perspective of Claudius an adamant republican the Roman Empireis one that is doomed to fall, prophesied by the Sibyl of Cumae, due to political instability and dangerous power struggles. Similar to the Roman Empire of I, Claudius, the Britain of King Lear also falls into a state of political chaos akin to anarchy; the sudden abdication of Lear and his senility ultimately bring about the unravelling of his family, followers, and kingdom. The following power struggles in Rome and Britain lead to the corruption of many individuals in their respective time periods. Both I, Claudius by Robert Graves and King Lear by William Shakespeare, set during times of political turbulence, suggest that the competition for and possession of power can corrupt and alter individuals and society. Both works are set in times of political turbulence, times in which people would seize the opportunity to gain absolute power or at least an upper hand over others. In I, Claudius, Livia, Claudius grandmother, proves to be an incredibly ambitious woman, with the political acumen to match. Before the birth of the Roman Empire, the Second Triumvirate, consisting of Mark Antony, Lepidus, and Octavian (at that time), ruled the

California inhabitants are currently faced with this problem. Although all of California s citizens have some awareness to California s drought issue, many are oblivious to the drought s severity. Greywater is generally known as water that has already been used from different household appliances such as the kitchen sink and laundry machine, but excludes water from the toilet. It constitutes 50 80% of the total household wastewater (Li 3439). Greywater makes up the majority of a home s wastewater. As a result, the greywater system focuses on recycling the wastewater in order to promote water conservation. In About Greywater Reuse, the article explains that the system recycles greywater by trying to find a way to pipe it directly outside and use it to water ornamental plants or fruit trees. In addition, the system provides homeowners a convenient way to complete the daily chore of watering their plants. The greywater system is innovative and provides homeowners a chance to contribute to California s relief from its drought. Although unknown to many, the greywater system proves to be the most promising solution to preserving California s water supply with its benefits to homeowners and ability to conserve large quantities of water. There is already a plethora of solutions to California s drought that people are more aware of than the greywater system. One solution that has been persistently advocated is to simply reduce daily water
  • 14. William Shakespeare s The Absurd Theatre In regard to time and place in the absurd theatre, it is noted that these two elements have their peculiarities that go with the absurd actions. Just as time and place are fundamental elements of man s existence, they are also fundamental elements in literature. The time and place of man s living may contribute not only to his personality, but also to his values, attitudes, and even his problems. In literature, time and place can also influence characters development and actions. So narrative writing needs time and place to give the story context. The details of time and place reflect the characters inner thoughts and feelings and move the story plot forward. Time may be static in some stories and dynamic in others. Place is often used to refer to the social milieu in which the events of a work of art occur. In brief, the two elements of time and place are extremely important to any narrative. They can have immense effects on the plot and the characters. Furthermore, they can establish the atmosphere, or mood, of a story. Spatial and temporal relations are interconnected. Time and place in absurd theatre are almost different from traditional drama because they are usually ambiguous and not fixed. Both are not used in their logical and traditional form. Eugene Ionesco seems to summarise these relations in the absurd theatre: The universe seems to me infinitely strange and foreign. At such a moment I gaze upon it with a mixture of anguish and euphoria; separate from the

Akhenaten sees the sun as his one and only god and for example Christians they see God as their one and only god. Aten is the sun god and Akhenaten walks the reader through his belief of what his god does. The short story is trying to persuade the readers to worship Aten and become monotheistic (which means to worship only one God, similar to Christianity). The poem is trying to persuade the readers to pick a certain God they want to follow. So in comparison between the short story and poem is to only worship one God. This Hymn could take place at any point in time because Aten is everlasting. Even if there was a great revelation happening, Akhenaten would attribute it to Aten. However, the setting would change the entire tone of the hymn. This hymn deals with things that are new and glorious, but if one were to change the setting to a revelation, it would deal with death and destruction. The only major difference between the story and the poem is that in Rebellion you are free to choose what god you would want to follow, but in the story Akhenaten forces his people to give up other gods in order to only worship

Keeping the Aztec calendar is proof of ancient cultures mathematical and scientific achievements without the aid of modern technology. The study of the sun stone could lead to further advances in mathematics and acts as a road map to our celestial bodies from that era of our history. The Aztecs believe they felt justified in believing in this calendar because of numerous events that changed the course of history for them. Because Aztec Indians were fervent astronomers, they tracked the stars and correlated that between the days to create this sun calendar. Examples of events happening within the timeline of the calendar stone being built are these: Between 1452 and 1454, their capital city Tenochtitlan suffered from flood and famine, the following year on 4/16/1445 (Julian calendar) there was an eclipse of the sun. From 1473 1479, there were 4 more solar eclipses within a five year time frame (Aveni, Calnek). During this time the Aztec nation conquered and

  • 39. Us Support And Agendas Within The Middle East US support and agendas within the Middle East have been extremely complicated in the last century. Starting with the backing of the Shah of Iran in the early 1950s to the present day conflict in Syria, there appears to be no decision without adverse secondary and tertiary effects. Since the Persian Gulf War, US policy has been fully supportive of the Arabs and Turks while limiting official support for the Kurds in Turkey, Iraq, and Syria. Nevertheless, unofficially, the US has fully supported the Kurds militarily through the establishment of long term partnerships between military forces. While always a point of contention with Turkey and the Government of Iraq (GOI), the recent increase in support for Kurdish forces in Syria to oppose the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) brought the issue to the forefront. The time for US policy to withhold support for the Kurds is past due to their critical role in the campaign against ISIL. The US attempted to establish a coalition amongst the Turks and the Arabs but this has largely failed to turn the tide of ISIL s advance. However, following the consistent successes of the Kurds advance wresting control of northeastern Syria away from ISIL, it is a foregone conclusion that the US requires an alliance with the Kurds if they wish to establish some semblance of stability in the Middle East. In the end, can the US ethically and morally provide support to the Kurds, ignoring requests from US allies in the region?

The Theory Of Regression Results DESCRPTION OF REGRESSION RESULTS In order to empirically examine the extent to which changes in price causes changes in broiler (chicken) consumption, time series data was collected on 40 observations extending from 1960 to 1999 on nine explanatory variables in total. I regressed this data using an Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) approach. The main explanatory variable used for my analysis was the consumer price index (CPI) for whole fresh chicken with the base years denoted as the 1982 to 1984 time period. The econometric model for my regression analysis is listed below: Broiler Consumption = a+ОІ_(1 ) (CPI of broilers)+ ОІ_2 (income)+ ОІ_3 (population)+ОІ_(4 ) (CPI for beef)+ОІ_(5 ) (PPI for corn)+ ОІ_(6 ) (NPI for broiler feed)+ОІ_7 (CPI)+ОІ_8 (AP of Broilers)+ОІ_9 (population)+ОІ_(10 ) (exports of beef, veal and pork)+ Оµ Data regarding my dependent variable was originally collected as pounds consumed per capita. However, I multiplied the per capita broiler consumption data by 100,000 to obtain broiler consumption in pounds per 100,000 people. In this way, I was able to obtain a larger coefficient on a few of the variables, which allowed for a more suitable display and discussion of the results in the paper. Further, the objective of this analysis was to explain to what extent price of broilers (CPI on whole fresh chicken) impacts broiler consumption in pounds. Specifically, the coefficients on the explanatory variables illustrate their respective effects on the number
