Why I Deserve A Scholarship Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Why I Deserve A Scholarship" can be quite challenging, as it
requires a delicate balance between showcasing one's achievements and qualities without coming
across as overly self-promotional. Crafting a compelling narrative that effectively communicates
your accomplishments, aspirations, and the impact of receiving a scholarship demands thoughtful
reflection and strategic storytelling.
Firstly, you need to delve into your own experiences, academic achievements, extracurricular
activities, and personal qualities that set you apart. It's not just about listing accomplishments but
also demonstrating the character traits and values that make you a deserving candidate. This self-
reflection process can be both time-consuming and emotionally taxing as you strive to present
the best version of yourself on paper.
Moreover, finding the right tone is crucial. You want to convey confidence and enthusiasm
without sounding arrogant or entitled. Striking this balance requires a keen awareness of your
audience and an understanding of what scholarship committees are looking for in a candidate. It
involves tailoring your language to appeal to the values and goals of the organization offering
the scholarship.
Additionally, you must adhere to the guidelines and word limits set by the scholarship
application. This constraint can make the writing process even more challenging, as you must
convey a substantial amount of information within a limited space. Each word becomes
precious, and every sentence must contribute to the overall narrative and strengthen your case.
In essence, writing an essay on why you deserve a scholarship demands a significant investment
of time, self-reflection, and careful consideration of your words. It's a task that requires not only
a strong command of language but also an ability to showcase your unique qualities effectively.
For those who find themselves struggling with this task or any other writing challenges, it's
worth noting that assistance is available. Services like HelpWriting.net offer support in crafting
essays, research papers, and more. Whether it's refining your scholarship essay or tackling other
writing projects, seeking help can provide valuable insights and guidance to enhance the quality
of your work.

Corporate Social Responsibility Definition
This research study is about what the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is,
how people define and how I understand this term? According to my research and
observations, CSR does not have only one and constant definition. I have read a
lot of definitions of CSR and in fact, they are similar but not the same. Briefly,
definition and understanding of CSR depends on person to person. Thus, I am
going to talk about definitions of the CSR and I will define my own perspective
about the CSR. As I mentioned, CSR does not have one definition. There is huge
amount of CSR definitions published by business world and economists. For
example, CSR is about how companies manage the business processes to produce an
overall positive impact... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
THE PYRAMID OF CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
According to Archie Caroll, who found CSR pyramid, there are 4 aspects of
Corporate Social Responsibilities which is divided in Economic, Legal, Ethical
and Philanthropic Responsibilities. Corporate Citizens are expected to be
profitable, be abiding the laws, be ethical and be charitable to society. (Carrol, July
Aug. 1991.) This pyramid reflects what the CSR is by defining the responsibilities
of the corporations in four different stages. First level is Economic responsibilities
of the corporations which refers the corporations main goal, making or being
profitable. Second step Legal Responsibilities, this stage explains how the
corporations act when they do business, obey the laws and follow the rules. Third
part of the pyramid is about Ethical responsibilities of the corporations. This step
reflects being ethical. On the other word, what the right and wrong is. In addition,
Corporations should avoid unfair and non ethical actions in the society. Finally, top
of the pyramid reflects being good corporate citizen. I think, it suggests corporations
should follow the laws and rules, pay the taxes, do the right and ethical, and take care
of its workers and environment. In my opinion this pyramid reflects my exact
definition about the CSR.

Alison...
Introspection on Parental Relationships
Relationships between parents and children are an important aspect of life. It forms
a basis of one s life, through childhood, in terms of learning morals and developing
one s personality. Lewis Nordan, the author of Music of the Swamp, and Alison
Bechdel, the author of Fun Home, describe their version of a parent child relationship
by crafting their stories in which the children strive for love and acceptance, while
receiving doubt, sadness, and distance from their parents, and as a result, the children
acquire a lifelong impact on their personality. In Music of the Swamp, Sugar
Mecklin has a alcoholic father and a reserved mother. Both parents seem distressed,
because of their geography, or at one another, and do not seem to enlighten Sugar by
any means. Their influence, especially his father s, is strong, and since most of
Sugar s actions are focused on either proving his parents wrong, or mirroring their
emotions, Sugar is putting his own happiness at stake. For instance, Sugar s father
always indicates to him that their geography, the Delta, is surrounded by death,
therefore Sugar takes his father s persistent remark as a metaphorical challenge to
prove his father wrong; he uncontrollably digs in his yard as a result, only to become
additionally depressed from the outcome. Furthermore, Sugar indicates that his father
always encompasses ill luck, and there are multiple incidences in which his father
experiences suicidal
The Pros and Cons of School Choice Essay
Benefits and Disadvantages of School Choice
The purpose of this research paper is to investigate the benefits and drawbacks of
school choice with respect to the impact on the students involved in the process.
Over the years, school vouchers, school choice and charter schools have been
grouped into one umbrella category known as school choice. The three types of
school choice are very different yet very much the same and each topic will be
discussed in depth and analyzed with examples and opinions from other authors.
Overall, there have always been experts with both positive and negative remarks
about the issues surrounding school choice.

Some arguments on the advantages of school choice were found on the website
schoolchoiceinfo.org, which includes many stories about individual families who
have benefited from school choice. The website also explains how in Cleveland,
Florida and Milwaukee over 14,500 families have benefited from school choice
programs. Making the parents more involved in the students education as well as
feeling a higher level of satisfaction from the children s education, the programs also
provides less discrimination based on economic status, or racial background, as well
as many other things.
In Depth of School Choice
One family story is found on the website, schoolchoiceinfo.org, in informational
website about the benefits of school choice. The website describes how the
Beauduy family of Florida benefited from being able to partake of the school
choice program. Being able to chose to send one child to a magnet school out side
the assigned school district, has shaped the family and made the entire family
happier overall allowing the family to have saved enough money to live in a safer
neighborhood. On the other hand, the article The Price of Public School Choice, by
Howe, Eisenhart and Betebenner, discusses the drawbacks of school choice. The
authors explain how the schools with more resources will gain too many students,
leaving the students that cannot choose or do not wish to, behind in the bad schools.
Archimedean Comulas Essay
2.2 Archimedean Copulas and Their Application
Archimedean copulas are an important family of copulas described by Genest and
MacKay (1986 a, b) and their applications explained in many fields such as actuarial
science, mathematics, statistics, finance and insurance; for more information, see
Frees and Valdez (1998), Klugman and Parsa (1999) or Denuit, et al., (2004). One of
the important features of this family is being parametric. The General structure of

What Effect Will the Concentration of Hydrochloric Acid...
Introduction In this chemical reaction, the magnesium will dissolve in the
hydrochloric acid to produce hydrogen gas. This is because magnesium is higher
than hydrogen in the reactivity series. Therefore, when the two reactants are
combined, a displacement reaction occus and the magnesium displaces the
hydrogen, forming magnesium chloride and hydrogen gas. Mg (s) + 2HCl (aq)
MgCl 2 (aq) + H 2 (g) Magnesium + Hydrochloric acid Magnesium Chloride +
Hydrogen Aim The aim of this investigation is to observe the effect that the
concentration of hydrochloric acid (independent variable) has on the rate of reaction
(dependent variable) between the magnesium ribbon and the hydrochloric acid....

If there is more surface area exposed to the hydrochloric acid, the particles of acid
will have a greater area of magnesium to react with and form successful collisions,
thus increasing the rate of reaction. Volume of Hydrochloric Acid Used: An overall
volume of 50ml of hydrochloric acid and water should be used for every trial. If a
lesser volume is used, this will decrease the rate of reaction as there will be less
particles in the HCl to collide with the Mg particles, which will lessen the chance for
creating a successful collision, and thus lower the rate of the chemical reactions.
Timing of the experiment: Bung with delivery tube should be placed on the conical
flask as soon as possible after the magnesium ribbon is dropped. This will ensure that
as much of the hydrogen gas gets measured in the measuring cylinder above the
trough, in order to obtain accurate measurements when calculating the rate of
reactions. Stopwatch will begin as soon as the magnesium is dropped into the
hydrochloric acid, so that the timing of the reaction is measured accurately. Cleaning
of the magnesium: The ribbon of magnesium will be cleaned with sandpaper to
remove the coating on the magnesium metal caused by reactions with atmospheric
gases. This needs to be done so that the measuring cylinder measures the gas produced
from the reaction
Tourmaline Strengths
One of the most popular, besides colorful types of beads you can wear are tourmaline
beads. These eye catching beads can be designed into many types of jewelry,
including earrings, rings, pendants and bracelets. Most of tourmaline are faceted,
meaning they have a smooth cut. If you re in the market for tourmaline beads, here
are some of their benefits, besides some buying considerations. Benefits of Wearing
Tourmaline Necklaces, Bracelets and Wristbands Tourmaline beads are known for
their unique beauty. These stunning, bright gemstones make attractive jewelry and
made from fine quality materials that most buyers can afford. . Besides being
beautiful, tourmaline beads are also considered therapeutic with several natural

Red, yellow or orange tourmalines appear better when seen under iridescent lighting.
There are some types of red tourmalines that even appear brown when seen in natural
sunlight, which may look unattractive to some buyers. On the other hand, blue, green
and violet tourmalines appear considerably better against natural sunlight. Therefore,
when shopping for a stone, examine it uner both artificial and natural lighting.
Hardness on the Mohn Scale The Mohs scale is used to measure mineral and gem
hardness. Tourmaline falls between 7.0 to 7.5. The numbers of the Mohn scale are
determined on how difficult or easy it is for a mineral or gem to be scratched.
Numbers range from 1 to 10 with the higher the number, the softer is the mineral.
Additional Considerations and Warnings Consider transparency as tourmaline beads
range from transparent to opaque. Keep tourmaline stored away from hard materials
and harder gemstones to prevent them from damaging it. Protect these gemstones
from exposure to large changes in temperature as this can result in the crystal
fracturing. For instance, don t leave your tourmaline jewelry in a hot vehicle or next

Training Is the Answer an Article by Rob Rosner
Article Summary Rob Rosner s 1999 article titled Training is the answer ... but what
was the question? 20 questions to make sure your training really works. starts with a
cautionary tale about training seminars gone bad. The author conveys an incident at a
health care training seminar where the trainer s admission of knowing nothing about
health care, derailed the training program before it even started. After the conclusion
of the seminar, the trainer presented his participants with a congratulatory decorative
cactus for completing the seminar. When one trainee was asked what he got out of
the training; he commented I got a cactus (Rosner, 1999). Mr. Rosner s article is
written for training experts and human resource (HR) professionals in mind as a
guidance that can be used for designing employee training programs. HR
professionals can answer these questions to develop useful guidelines for developing
an effective training program or whether training is actually needed in the first place.
In the article, Rosner states that avoiding wasting time, production, and precious
resources on ineffectual training programs is the ultimate goal for successful training
managers. HR representatives need to figure out the solutions to the questions posed
in Mr. Rosner s article. Questions like, what are the reasons for conducting training, is
training necessary, what solutions have been used in the past, and what is the
expected outcome of training are integral to planning an
A Brief Note On Air Traffic Control ( Atc ) Essay
4.3 VARIOUS MODULES OF DLCA 6500 : 4.3.1 Air Traffic Controller(ATC) Air
traffic control (ATC) is a service provided by ground based controllers who direct
aircraft on the ground and in the air. The primary purpose of ATC systems is to
handle the aircraft downlinks and ground station uplinks. The pilot sends some
downlink messages by using MKP (Multi Functional Keypad), CCP(Cursor
Control panel) in AM. The pilot will confirm the message by pressing SEND in
AFD and it will come to ATC after pressing SEND function in AFD.RIU will then
send the message to one of the existing radios (HF, SATCOM or VHF, with the
selection of the radio based on special logic contained within the RIU). For a
message to be sent over the VHF network, the radio would transmit the VHF
signals containing the downlink message. This message is then received by a
VHF Remote Ground Station .ATC may use a radar system called Secondary
Surveillance Radar to downlink flight parameters allowing radar processing:
systems and therefore controllers to see various data on a flight, including
airframe unique id (24 bits encoded), indicated airspeed and flight director selected

Missing Malaysian Air Flight....
Most of the people have read and watched the news of the missing Malaysia
Airlines flight MH370 from different Medias. I am also following this issue in this
month. People should have many doubts about this issue like me: what happened to
the plane? Where is this plane now? Yes, this issue is a mystery and nobody knows
where the plane is now. Till today many countries are still searching this plane. The
plane took off on March 8 after midnight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiaand was
flying to Beijing. Let s see how these three articles from different news sources
viewed this mystery of missing plane.
After the news came out, it attracted many people s attention, but it was the
shocked news for the families of those passengers on the plane. There is no doubt
that, the families of those passengers were distraught when they received the
messages of the plane was missing and no one is assumed to have survived that
was announced on March 24th by Malaysia s prime minister, Najib Razak. (Fuller
Buckley, 2014) The families of the passengers had complained for weeks due to the
incomplete information given to them and the Malaysian prime minister was keen to
give final fact to them when he made the announcement. (Fuller Buckley, 2014)
There were 2/3 Chinese passengers on the plane and many of their friends and
relatives declined to believe the announcement and claimed the Malaysians were not
revealing what they really knew. (Fuller Buckley, 2014) Also, many heavy criticisms

Beyond Petroleum ( Bp )
Beyond Petroleum (BP) formerly British Petroleum is a company that claims to be
devoted to finding new energy sources with little impact on the environment. Ferrell,
Fraderich, and Ferrell, explain in their Business Ethics textbook in 2012 that after
several environmental tragedies in the mid to late 2000 s, the company had to
reassess their ethical standards and make changes to repair their image and regain the
confidence of their stakeholders. During this time, they began investing in wind,
solar, biofuels, and many other new types of energy sources. They also created
programs to educate citizens and stakeholders about environmental awareness. Most
importantly, though, they also tasked their ethicsand compliance team with creating
a code of conduct policy and communicate it out to every employee (p.343 345).
Considering that BP is a worldwide company, with employees of diverse languages
and cultures, this was a very difficult task to complete. Not only would it be a
challenge to communicate the new code of conduct out to each employee, but it
was even more difficult for the company to enforce it. Because of the lack of
understanding on how to deal with ethical dilemmas, managers and employees
within the company did not complete proper risk assessment, leading to the worst
oil spill in U.S. History. This would come to be known as the Deepwater Horizon
spill. BP commonly outsources machinery and companies to complete certain tasks.
They did in this case by hiring an oil rig
Treatment Of Animals In Captivity
Have you ever felt the feeling that you are trapped, mistreated, or a slave to society.
In today s world, millions of animals are feeling this way right now, a feeling no
living creature can endure. Animals are living creatures whose sole purpose in life
are to survive and thrive. Whose right is it to stop and change that for them. In
captivity animals are treated badly, they have the potential to hurt humans, and they
weren t originally supposed to be in captivity in the first place. These beautiful
creatures of Mother Earth should be cared for, not used as slaves. In life, people in
the world may treat animals as if they are friends, however, animals in captivity are
treated much worse. In Janet M. Davis s article A Bittersweet Bow
AAM Movement Analysis
The AAM move towards a Third World framework comes from the geopolitical
circumstances of the 1960s and an affinity to Asian third world liberation movements.
The conditions among the people in power created the political opportunity for
change. Growing doubt and criticism about US foreign policy, especially its pursuit
of the war in Vietnam eroded support for the established leadership. In hundreds of
college campuses, students organized and showed widespread dissatisfaction with the
US role in Vietnam. These campuses were also a source of growing social interaction
between Americans born of different Asian descents. An increasing connection
between Asian Americans sought to extend that connection beyond the borders of
America. The US military... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The CCBA suppressed voices by blacklisting suspected communist sympathizers,
making it very difficult for them to find employment for example. The divisions in
the Chinatowns reveal an interesting dynamic in the lives of Asian Americans during
the 60s. The Asian American Movement was not a holistic movement of all
Americans or immigrants of Asian descent. Clearly the idea of a multiethnic
movement did not make its way to certain ethnic areas. The divisions between KMT
and PRC supporters in Chinatowns illustrate that nationalist identities can just as
divide as it can unite different

Link Between Learned Helplessness to Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Depression
in Battered Woman
Summary:
Bargai,Ben Shakhar, and Shalev (2007) designed a study to test the hypothesis that
learned helplessness (LH) intervenes the relationship between violence severity and
mental disorders in battered women, particularly posttraumatic stress disorder
(PTSD) and major depression (MDD). They also hypothesis that the severity of LH,
PTSD, and MDD is positively correlated with the severity of violence. Lastly, it was
hypothesized that here is a significant correlation between LH and the invested
background factors such as child abuse, socioeconomic and male dominated
backgrounds. The sample consisted of 102 battered woman from eight ... Show more

An independent sample t test was done to compare battered women with PTSD
and those without PTSD. LH scores in PTSD positive participants were
significantly higher than those whom are non PTSD. This suggest that there is a
strong association between high levels of LH and PTSD in battered women.
Furthermore, it was discovered that LH is strongly associated with early cultural
influence, especially in male dominated backgrounds. Women who are raised in
cultures and educational background that promote female submissiveness and
prejudice against women are more likely to develop PTSD and depression as a
result of male violence. Depression is especially highly correlated with PTSD.
Sexual violence was the strongest predictor of PTSD, whereas physical violence
alone wasn t significantly correlated. History of child abuse increases LH and
therefore, increasingthe risk of depression and PTSD. In conclusion, this study
suggests that LH in battered women is associated both with prolonged exposure to
violence and other risk factors outside of the abusive relationship, and that the LH
mediates the contribution of violence exposure to PTSD and MDD in this population.
Critique
Overall this study was well designed to test the main hypothesis on learned
helplessness contribution on the severity of violence as well as PTSD and MDD
symptoms. To say that is experiment is valid is to say that the researchers measured

Mahatma Gandhi And Nelson Mandela
If Mahatma Gandhi never inspired Nelson Mandela to fulfill his vision for human
rights, would Nelson Mandela have inspired Barack Obama to continue that legacy?
Mahatma Gandhi practiced civil disobedience and lobbied for the rights of Indians in
South Africa and India. Nelson Mandela hungered and fought for a South Africa,
where all races were equal and unified as nationalists. Barack Obama sought to build a
more tolerant United States through his historic presidency, immigration policies, and
equal rights for all people. Although these individuals faced severe opposition, they
persisted and enacted significant changes in human rights.

multiple times in South Africa and in India as well (Researchpedia Contrast of

their acts of disobedience and did not back down even while in prison. In summary,
Gandhi directly experienced prejudice which set him on a course for unifying his
people and demanding change for India.
Like Gandhi before him, Nelson Mandela demanded a dramatic change in the
treatment of his people and was willing to suffer life long persecution and
imprisonment to achieve it. Mandela desired equal human rights be given to all
South Africans, regardless of color, and enacted change against the apartheid
through political activism and becoming a symbol of defiance during his twenty
seven year imprisonment. Mandela s desire for equal rights in South Africa fueled
his quest for education and career in politics. For example, As he secured formal
education, Nelson Mandela became more outspoken for causes of the suppressed,
eventually being expelled from school for protesting...only to return later to complete
his degree (Sarah Brooks Paragraph 1). This shows that even while obtaining his
degree, Mandela was actively trying to promote change in South Africa. Mandela and
other congressmen paid a high price for their
Life, Death, And Homelessness
Life, Death, and Homelessness Envision feeling lost and not knowing what to do
or where to go. You spend every night in the chilly weather on a seat, which you
call your bed. As you wake up to the prattling clamors every morning you choose
which open spot will permit you to tidy yourself up. When you get hungry, you ask
individuals for change to eat or you seek the closest trash can. For whatever remains
of the day, you sit in the city trusting individuals will see you and will want to assist.
Realizing that you are not judged by who you are but rather what you will be, you
understand that the majority of people in public don t necessarily understand
homelessness, and it would be a miracle if the circumstances in homelessness ever
change. Often you find them huddled on a seat or in an entryway under unwashed
covers or worn out coats. These individuals are called homeless, in spite of the fact
that they are more than just simply individuals without homes. According to Arthur
Gilliard, in Homelessness, he states, A homeless person is someone who is
unstable to secure and maintain a permanent, safe, and adequate dwelling.
Homelessness is the condition of being homeless, and it represents a broad social
category of people who are, for any number of reasons, left without a place to call
their own. (Gilliard 9) Homelessness could walk in our community and you would
not even know it. According to Timothy Pina, a writer from the book called Hearts

How Does Heller Use Dialogue In Catch 22
Use of Language and Dialogue Catch 22
Catch 22 is probably best discussed in terms of its language. The prose style Heller
employs is original and distinctive, appropriate and well implemented (Pearson 277).
One application of that prose style is dialogue; Heller uses dialogue to manifest the
themes of the novel. Some of the themes best shown in the dialogue of the characters
are Heller s hatred of war, and his perceived idiocy in military and in bureaucracy.
Scattered throughout the book are several dialogues which share numerous
characteristics. Some particular conversations are especially demonstrative of these
elements. Heller uses these dialogues to communicate his ideas to the reader. In
chapter XXXVI, several military ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

We don t know yet, said the colonel. But we re going to find out. And we sure know

Heller s governmental agents are illogical to either a subhuman or to asuperhuman
extent. In another instance, an undercover C.I.D. man fails toconsider the possibility
that the culprit who incorrectly edits letters would sign a nameother than his own.
Time after time these agent display profound disregard for the highercranial facilities.
In the same way that the bureaucratic thought process is convoluted, governmental
action (or inaction) is also often senseless. Often the very nature of an actionprecludes
itself: this sort of situation crops up during the interrogation, for instance, when one of
the military officers asks the chaplain for a handwriting sample in order tocompare
the sample to a letter. When the handwriting sample fails to match that of the
letter, the officer concludes that of course of course! the chaplain is fakinghis
handwriting:
I can t tell you how disappointed I am in you.
For what? persisted the chaplain more frantically. What have I done?
For this, replied the major, and, with an air of disillusioned disgust, tossed down on
the table the pad on which the chaplain had signed his name. This isn t your

Research Paper On Hurricanes
Our team of meteorologists and seismologists from Purdue university have
realised that Illinois is at a high risk for hurricanes. We should worry about
hurricanes because of the aftereffects like rain and high winds can affect states that
are farther away from the coast. The probability of a hurricane in Illinois is very
low however there was a hurricane in florida that just hit about a week ago. One
reason this issue needs to be addressed is how and where these storms are formed.
Hurricanes occur in areas that have intensely low pressure, and are mainly fueled by
water vapor from the ocean. According to Weather Questions.com, The low pressure

According to the university of Illinois, Strong winds are the most common means
of destruction associated with hurricanes. Their sometimes continuous barrage can
uproot trees, knock over buildings and homes, fling potentially deadly debris
around, sink or ground boats, and flip cars. Furthermore, hurricanes can cause
heavy rain, riptides, changes in sea level, flooding, and even tornadoes. Homes can
be destroyed, people could drown in the floods or be swept away into the ocean,
and with global warming increasing, there have been reports of drastic changes in
the ocean which could lead to even more hurricanes. In addition, Tsunamis can cause
flooding and erosion. The waves can push homes and vehicles with ease. According
to UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization),
Considerable damage is caused by the floating debris, including boats and cars that
become dangerous projectiles that may crash into buildings, brake power lines, and
may start fires. Tsunamis are also very destructive, yet they cannot go too far inland,
like Illinois, for example. Global warming doesn t affect the movement of the earth, or

Descriptive Essay About The Wedding
So you want to know what the title means stay here and you can see. My
grandparents decided to surprised me with a trip going to Scotland, London, then
Paris. When this happened I was overjoyed because I was going to be able to see my
cousins and one was getting married when we were there. This trip was a two week
trip from Aug. 31 to July 12. Before we left, my mom gave me a visa gift card so I
would able to buy stuff. I went to go use it and I noticed that I could only use it in
the USA. When we got there, we got settled in at our familys place. The first night we
had fish and chips on the shore of the North Sea. The first day we arrived there it was
a lazy and went to go look at shops and shop. When we shopped we shopped for
hours.
My second cousin was getting married when we were there so we were there for
her. They had their wedding by the North Sea. The weather for the wedding was
perfect, but it rained when we were walking to the after party where we had a fun
time. On the wedding day, my third cousin, named Hannah, did my hair for the
wedding. During the wedding all of the males in the wedding wore kilts. We
walked around in four different castles in Scotland and they all looked very similar.
The castle I liked the best was the one in Inchcolm. When we were there my papa
could not wait for bangers and mash. When we were shopping and walking around

Value Of Life Essay
Hello class of 2018 , parents, family, friends, and SOAR faculty. I am honored to be
addressing you guys today during our high school graduation. I never thought I
would personally make it this far, but here I am.Today I would like to talk to you
guys about the value of life. I am going to address my personal point of view on the
valueof life, and how I feel about it. I know some of you might have never thought
about how valuable your life is. Hopefully, by the end of my speech you will have a
new perspective on life. Let s begin.
Before I begin I would like to tell you guys what I think about life. Personally, I value
life as something special, that should never be taken for granted. I strongly feel
that life is special and even if you are wealthy or poor it does not matter because in
the end you are still living. I feel that today in American society a lot of us do not
value life as much as we should. This is due to the fact that we are so privileged
that ist is hard to realize how valuable our life is. However, in poorer countries the
people view life as something sacred and understand life s true values, and know
how special it is. I would like to state that you cannot put a price tag on someone s
life. But people begin to think what is a life worth? If you research online you will
find that there are Human Life Value Calculator and personally I think these are
inaccurate and inhumane. Essentially, what this calculator does is it takes your
income, taxes, savings,

December 1, 2014 China, being one of the oldest civilizations, has a had a very long
and painful past.
In 1927, only sixteen years after the fall of the Qing Dynasty, Civil war broke out
between the Kuomintang (nationalists) and the Communist parties of China. In 1931,
Mao Zedong was elected as Chairmen of the Soviets Republic of China. During the
span of five years, Nationalist leader Chiang Kai Shek launched four Blockades
against Mao. The majority of these blockades were unsuccessful because Under the
leadership of Mao, the Communists employed guerrilla tactics to successfully resist
the first four campaigns, but in the fifth, Chiang raised a huge force and built

After realizing that defeat was certain the Communists hierarchy decided to take
Agent Otte Braun s advice, initiating a full scale retreat from Jiangxi with a push for
a communist base in Hunan where the Chinese Communist s Party Second Army
was based. The retreat which was to be called the Long March started in October
1934 .
The Red army started the Long March with over 87,000. With them, the solders
brought items such as typewriters, printing presses, 33,000 guns and over a million
ammunition cartridges. To their disadvantage, the printing presses and typewriters
hindered their movement, causing them to take 40 days to get through encirclement.
Then they were attacked at Xiang by the Kuomintang. In the Battle of Xiang, the
Red Army Red Army lost 45,000 solders more than 50% of their men . This poor
strategy suggested by Braun consisted with the Red Army to march in a straight line
and as a result the Kuomintang was able to predict their every movement.
After the large loss of solders the Chinese communist Party Braun was suspended and
Mao was handed control of the Red Army. Mao decided to change the destination of
the Long March. His new target was the Shaanxi province. Located in the north of
China, the journey was physically demanding as it crossed a very difficult
environment. The Red Army had to cross the Snowy Mountains, some of the highest

Essay on Biography on Felix Christian Klien
Felix Christian Klein Felix Christian Klein was born on April 25, 1849 (O Conner
and Robertson). Felix Klein was born in DГјsseldorf, Prussia, which is now present
day Germany. Also, known as Felix Klein, he was a mathematician known for his
research in non Euclidean geometry, group theory, and function theory (Felix Klein
German Mathematician). Felix Klein s father was part of the Prussian government.
His father was secretary to the head of the government. After Felix Klein graduated
from the gymnasium in DГјsseldorf, he went to the University of Bonn and studied
math and physics from 1865 1866. Before Felix Klein had studied non Euclidean

Felix Klein did serve in the military for a short time. Felix Klein served as a medical
orderly, but that ended as he was given the role of a lecturer at Göttingen in 1871
(O Conner and Robertson).
As Felix Klein was given the position as professor at Erlangen, he supported Clebsch.
Clebsch stated that he believed that Felix Klein would become the next leading
mathematician in his day (O Conner and Robertson). While at Erlangen he taught his
views on the Erlanger Programm (Felix Klein German Mathematician). At Erlangen
Felix Klein also held a position at the age of 23. Truly unsatisfied with the lack of
students he then went to Technische Hochschule in 1875 (O Conner and Robertson).
While at Technische Hochschule Felix Klein and his colleague Brill taught advanced
math to a larger number of students than at Erlangen. Klein taught many students who
would be later known for something important, some of these students were: Hurwitz,
Von Dyck, Runge, Rohn, Bianchi, Ricci Curbastro, and Planck (O Conner and
Robertson). While Felix Klein taught at Technische Hochschule, he got married in the
year 1875 to Anne Hegel, who happened to be the granddaughter of the philosopher
Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (O Conner and Robertson).
After five years at Technische Hochschule, Felix Klein went to the Universities of
Leipzig (Felix Klein German Mathematician). At Leipzig he encountered Von Dyck,

Rise Of The Hippie Movement
On the other hand the New Left was growing politically for those not involved in
the Hippie Movement of San Francisco. They like the Hippie Movement linked
young people in the United States but it did it in a more extreme way that it was
even to those in many other countries [and] on both sides of the iron Curtain,
(America Divided 166.) This shows how powerful the New Left became and how
together they were overall. They even created the Port Huron statement which just
described what they wanted political for the world. They gave support to all those
who lived in poverty and had many Socialist ideas. They hosted big events like a
antiwar march in Washington D.C...the largest antiwar demonstration in the nation
s history until that point, (America Divided 168 169.) They were very action
forward and did not just say things, they actually accomplished many things
especially when it came to antiwar. There was also a rise of a black New Left which
showed the rise of Black Power, within political groups. It gave them a voice and also
a sense of unity with others of the same ideals. They did their own march for rights
in Jackson, Mississippi. The black New Left also did activism in police brutality

Commuter Trains In The 1800 s
Trains developed in the early 1800 s. Because of railroads, commuter trains became
an important of the american history. Commuter train is also known as suburban
train. Commuter trains help transport people from places to places. Many people use
the commuter trains in their everyday live. It also created a change in the industry,
and allowed humans to expand. The train became a way where people transportgoods
and resources in matter of days instead of months. As centuries goes on and with the
advancement in technology, commuter trains have evolved into more efficient and
significant part of people s live.

As of right now, scientists are coming up new advance projects to power, and will
help add intelligence to the transportation system. The advancement will help
decrease carbon dioxide emissions, traffic delays, and the cost. This will also make
commuting and travel more efficient. The cost will be lower due to not building
railroad tracks. The traffic will decrease due to the various sensors to guide the trains
on the road. It will make commuting and travel more efficient because the units can
detach and going different directions. Another resource scientist might use is
magnetic levitation(maglev). To create a maglev at high speeds of travel, the train
needs to run off of electro magnetism. Also the train need a strong enough force and

Essentials Of Abnormal Human Behavior
In reflecting on the above outlined competency, I found myself thinking, without the
existence of abnormal human behavior, my life would not have been as interesting as
it currently is. Throughout my adolescent years, primarily through observing others
consistently, I was able to develop a profound interest and dedicated pensive thoughts
into understanding the cognition and behaviors of human beings. As such, I would
spend hours weekly, trying to understand why individuals think differently, seek to
formulate reasons behind their actions, how they problem solved and just the
interactional dynamics employed by individuals in varying settings. Accordingly,
when it was time to pursue the course Abnormal psychologyboth as an undergraduate
and graduate student, I was very anxious, intrigued, ecstatic and elated as I often
consider it my most preferred psychology course. The study of Abnormal human
behavior focuses on unusual patterns of thinking, emotions and behaviors that are
generally associated with mental disorders and dates back to the Stone age period.
Abnormal psychology, is described as the field that seeks to study the causes and
possible treatments of mental disorders.
In my critical annotation of the book Essentials of Abnormal Psychology I reflected
on the historical and scientific considerations to abnormal psychology. In looking at
the historical development of abnormal behavior, a supernatural, biological and
psychological model have all been purported in the
Symptoms Of Multiple Sclerosis Through The

Nanocurcumin attenuates neurological symptoms of multiple sclerosis through the
downregulation of pro inflammatory cytokines and endorsing myelin protection.
B.1. English Abstract
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory, neurodegenerative disease that
affects more than 40,000 individuals in Egypt alone and 2.5 million people
worldwide. MS is also categorized as an autoimmune disease in which the immune
system instigates an immune response upon encountering the specific myelin antigen
and therefore initiating a constant degradation of the myelin sheath. The frequent loss
of the myelin leads to irreversible progressive axonal damage and eventually neural
death. Unfortunately, there is no cure for MS. This projects aims to ameliorate
neurological structure and function in MS patients by the oral administration of
Nanocurcumin. Nanocurcumin is synthesized by loading curcumin on poly (n
butylcyanoacrylate) nanoparticles and is coated with polysorbate 80 to ensure the
direct delivery of the nanocurcumin across the blood brain barrier and to the brain.
Nanocurcumin is expected to attenuate the neurological symptoms of MS through
downregulation of the pro inflammatory cytokines and endorse the production of
neurotrophic factors that aids in neuroprotection and myelin repair.
Key words: MS, Multiple Sclerosis, Neurodegenerative diseases, autoimmune

Augustus Prima Porta Sculpture Analysis
The establishment of the Roman Empire marked a pivotal change in Roman
society. This was accomplished by Augustus, Rome s first Emperor in 27 B.C. His
time in power marked a period of peace and prosperity within Rome. His
achievements established what historians refer to as the Pax Romana the 200 years
of relative peace in Rome. During his time in power, Augustus enacted many changes
and developments in the Roman Empire. His achievements were best encapsulated in
the Augustus Prima Porta statue. The statue is renown for its similarities to classical
Greek sculpture as well as its symbolic representation of Augustus s divine image as
the Emperor of Rome.
The Augustus Prima Porta was discovered in 1863. The name Prima Porta derives
from the city in which it was found at the site of Livia s Villa in Prima Porta on the
Greek island of Paros. It now resides at the Vatican Museum. The sculpture was made
entirely of Parian marble white semitransparent marble popularized for its sculptural
uses. The sculpture depicts Augustus as a powerful military figure with the
incorporation of divine imagery. The sculpture is both natural and idealistic in its
representation of Augustus. The statue exhibits personalized facial features indicating
a sense of natural realism. His facial expression is rather stern, evoking a sense of
power and prestige. His physique is athletic, predominantly muscular and measuring
to approximately 2.03 metres in height ultimately presenting an idealized form.
The Sampler
Accidentally, a precipitate attempt of being benevolent might contrarily exacerbate
the present situation. In the short story The Sampler , which is written by Ira V.
Morris, the free samples of a shop are imposed on by an incongruous and poor man.
Consequently, the narrator shows compassion and tries to do him a favour. However,
the narrator s genuine endeavour ends up with nothing but utter repentance. The
author shows that sincere intentions might be adventitiously misinterpreted by the
beneficiary, and instead of ameliorating the circumstances, the eventual outcome is an
adverse predicament.
The incongruous protagonist, who samples the plum puddings without purchasing
anything is presently poor and without the economic means to avert the deprivation
of uncountable privations. Evidently, the mentioned point is suggested in the
following quotation: [...] to wipe his red eyes with a large torn handkerchief which
he drew from the breast pocket of his shoddy overcoat (p. 1 l. 23). In ... Show more

Evidently, everything in the storyline is seen through the narrator s point of view.
The points are suggested in the following quotation: I have often wondered [...] (p. 1
l. 5) and [...] the old man seemed incongruous and pathetic (p. 2 l. 35). In conclusion
the first quotation obviously is the proof on the first point concerning a first person
narrator. Secondly, the following quotation clearly shows us the unreliability
connected to the narrator due to the judgmental characterization of the protagonist,
however, the narrator is telling the truth about the the narrator s own personal view
throughout the story. Accordingly, this type of narrator catches the recipient and
connects the recipient with the story, as though as the reader is the narrator, which
intensifies the experience with the short story. Additionally, it also increases the
comprehension of the

One of the major advantages of the North was their transportation routes. They had
many more roads, canals, and railroads which meant that they were no longer
limited to where they lived. In the North they built factories and the cities were
industrialized. They believed that you must work hard no matter rich or poor. The
people of the north had a greater population but they did not allow slavery and they
encouraged the South to do the same. As opposed to the south, the people of the
north wanted a strong national government and they wanted high protective tariffs.
If there were high protective tariffs then there would not be as much demand for
cotton in the south causing there to be a lesser need for slaves. Within the north
there were many job opportunities in the factories for not only men but now women
and children. The women had a set schedule of when they worked in order to make
their fathers happy and it was based on faith. Regardless of how long you worked the

Dichotomies In Life Of Pi
Life of Pi, by Yann Martel, follows a boy named Pi as he floats aboard a lifeboat
through the Pacific Ocean; joining him on this journey is a tiger, affectionately
named Richard Parker. Pi, himself, is a bright boy who is Hindu by birth, but goes
on to become devout in both Islam and Christianity, refusing to acknowledge the
antagonist relationship between these beliefs. Pi s family were once zookeepers,
and decided to move from their home in India to Canada following the economic
collapse of their zoo. In the middle of their voyage across the sea, their ship sinks in
a treacherous storm, leaving Pi, a hyena, a zebra with a broken leg, an orangutan, and
a tigeraboard a lifeboat.
As the days go by, the hyena grown hungry and attacks the zebra. After the hyena has

As I had not been raised in a religious home, the construct seemed foreign to me. I
failed to see its purpose in the lives of those around me. In the novel, Martel
presents two dichotomies: the story of Pi and the beasts, or the story of man and a
struggle to survive (the cook, crewman, and mother). While the latter seems more
acceptable on its face, the former presents a beautiful story filled with meaning.
Through Martel s writing, I see religion less as an identification or a label, but rather
as a lens in which a follower views the world. Where I might see the ordinary, others
may see the divine. This novel inspired me to be more accepting of religion and its
purpose for its followers. The book also helped me consider flaws in human nature
flaws that I often found in myself. This complex novel was written so beautifully that
it inspired me to become a better writer, a better thinker, and, more importantly,
increasingly accepting of the others and the lenses through which they understand

resistance training be performed no less than two and no more than four times per

constantly eating a high carbohydrate diet while cutting back your activity level as
your carbohydrate loading. The purpose of carbohydrate loading is to give you the
energy to complete an endurance event with less fatigue, improving your athletic
performance. Carbohydrateloading is mostly used if you re an endurance athlete like
a marathon runner, swimmer or cyclist, preparing for an event that will last 90

Masculinity In The Killer John Woo
How does John Woo produce remasculinisation of male hero by combine traditional
Chinese value of true man and western technique of expression in The Killer?
Doing genre that Woo used in The Killer also accord with wu, which is one of
binary features of traditional Chinese masculinity. Wu represent moral principle of
Chinese hero, and one major element of wu is loyalty (Louie, 2009, p.10). In The

The Matrix, Directed By The Wachowski Brothers
The 1999 film The Matrix , directed by the Wachowski Brothers, tells the story of a
computer generated world in which humans are used as batteries to power the
matrix systems. The film focuses on a small team of humans who are fighting
against the matrix. There are several themes in this film and many of which are
suggested through the material body . The material body is made up of four key
elements cinematography, mise en scГЁne, editing and soundtrack. These elements
are crucial to the audience s understanding of the narrative and the director s
intended meaning. The Two pills scene is a good example of how the material body
can be used to analyse the presentation of characters and the narrative.
Mise en scГЁne refers to the arrangement and setting up of the stage or set in a
movie or play. This consists of setting/dГ©cor, costume, props, actors and lighting
(Bordwell Thompson, 2008, p.112). In the two pills scene, the setting appears to
be a sitting room in an old, abandoned house. The dГ©cor that now looks dull and
drab gives the illusion that it was once a very grand room. There are wooden,
period furnishings and the walls appear to be made up of wooden panels. The clip
takes place in front of an old, marble like fireplace. The dГ©cor alludes that the
setting has been neglected and perhaps forgotten about.
The costumes worn by Morpheus and Neo are quite contrasting to one another.
Morpheus wears a long, leather trench coat. His whole outfit is black and he
The Airport Full Body Scanners Essay
Before the attacks on September 11, 2001, there was hardly any security in
airports throughout the United States. However, airports went from hardly any
security to full body scanners. According to the article Airport Full Body Scanners,
President Obama stated in a press conference on January 7, 2010 after a bombing
on December 25, 2009 by Nigerian passenger Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, Rather
than a failure to collect or share intelligence, this was a failure to connect and
understand the intelligence we already had, but a metal detector can t detect the
kind of explosives that were sewn into his clothes (2010). Arguing the idea of full
body scanners, some officials believe the images are violating the passengers,
especially if the passengers are under the age of eighteen. Nonetheless, other officials
would argue the full body scanners are a better method of spotting dangerous
substances and materials than just the ordinary metal detectors. According to Alycia
B. Taylor and Sara Steedman, there were many areas needed to be addressed in
airport securityprior to September 11, 2001. One problem is those who were hired
by airlines to act as security screeners. Some of these people could carry threats to
the aircraft or the passengers. In May 2000, Department of Transportation Inspector
General agents use fictitious law enforcement badges and credentials to gain access
to secure areas, bypass security checkpoints at two airports, and walk unescorted to
aircraft departure

Moon Landing Is Not A Hoax Essay
That s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind was the famous quote
made by Neil Armstrong when landing on the moon. This was most impressive feat
of innovation in the history of mankind but some conspiracy theorist think it was all
just a to political stunt. This people who think it is a hoax have no idea what they are
talking about because they are either crazy or do not trust the government. The
evidence that support the moonlanding are abundant, these include achieving it
numerous amounts of times, the soviet union did not dispute it, and finally the
numerous amounts of rock samples brought back.
To begin with, the moon landing is not a hoax because they achieved this impressive
feat nine times and why would NASA fake it so many times and over exaggerate the
lie it if it was a hoax. If it were a hoax someone within the organisation would get it
wrong over the course of those nine trips, and the fact that they did not slip once
means it is true. One of the astronauts on the Apollo 16 mission states that, we have

into a personal level in the world of old age. The purpose of this paper is to provide
information based upon an interview with a senior over the age of 70, determine
strengths and weaknesses, outline personal needs and family needs, analyze and
provide interpretations of an assortment of assessments, deliver nursing diagnoses,
problems, and interventions, and validate interventions. A nurse must provide
specialized care with the gerontological client.
Client s Strengths and Weaknesses Gathering information from a client is vital during
the interview process. In this, strengths and weaknesses can be determined to assist
an older person to augment his or her health. Due to psychological factors influencing
health and functional status of an older person, it is essential to evaluate and share
positive communication (Tabloski ,2014). In turn, an older person can develop
optimistic views in not only maintaining health, but also enhancing his or her health
as well. This renewed interest in health can provide an encouraging boost for an older

Love has been called you and me referring to the two lovers (line 17). Personification
of love has given it a significant presence. Love makes a lover feel imprisoned in the
jail of love (line 18). In other words, love keeps you go back to your lover again and
again. Even when the two lovers are physically separated from each other, they can
feel the presence of love in their lives (line 19). The feeling of love is so great that
it doesn t know any bounds. It transcends all boundaries of physical existence and
makes the person feel the presence of their beloved even they are not close to them.

The Power Of Words In Richard Wright s Black Boy
Southern Summer Nights
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will hurt forevermore. Words
hold power, they are the key to success and the bomb to downfall. Throughout
history, only the words of victors are remembered while the voices of the lost are
forgotten throughout the ages. A simple piece of literature, such as the Diary of
Anne Frank, can cause millions of people to see their world in a new light. From a
young age, Richard Wright discovered the power behind the words he spoke and
heard; the strength that bleeds through the inked characters of the forbidden books he
read, and the influence that a book written ages ago had on his family and others.

In short, things happened that resulted in a change of home and environment.
Exposed to a young lady by the name of Ella, he learned the influence between the
written words that morphed obscure and abstract thoughts into a series of clips that
became one long, detailed, movie. His imagination [was] blazed (39) and his
interest in the story of Bluebeard and His Seven Wives clutched desperately onto
his senses as she read aloud. Despite the book being the Devil s work (39), at least to
his grandmother anyway, Richard found that he hungered for the sharp, frightening,
breathtaking, almost painful excitement that the story (40) offered him. He stole
books and attempted to read them despite not knowing more than a handful of
words. Although the words alone had no value to Richard, the words became a
gateway to a forbidden and enchanting land (40). Series of magazines and books
later, Richard himself got to give meaning to inked characters by writing a short story
himself. His classmates asked in awe if he really wrote it himself in which he
replies with a simple yes. Having written a piece of literature himself, Richard knew
how influential the written word could be, especially if it was the word of
Gallic Revolt Causes
The main cause of battle is Gallic revolt . It all started when the Largest tribe of

Unification of Italy and Germany Essay
Unification of Italy and Germany
By 1871 both the kingdom of Italy and the empire of Germany were united. Even
though both countries used popular trends to that time, both liberalism and
nationalism, the process unifying these two countries was very different. The end
result was Germany emerging as a strong nation and Italy appropriately, the weaker.
Italy s problems started with the fact that it didn t have one main ruler, but two
people and a concept, resulting in a different approach to the unification. Gulseppe
Mazzini had a radical program focusing on a centralized democratic republic based
on universal suffrage and the will of the people. Vincenzo Gioberti, who was a
catholic priest called for a federation of existing states ... Show more content on

Therefore, they strategically persuaded European powers to fight against Austria
...Italy provoked Austria into war Cavour then used Garibaldi s popular appeal to his
benefit. When Garibaldi and Emmanuel rode through Naples to cheering crowds, they
symbolically sealed the union of north and south, of monarch and people. (McKay,
837) Italy was now unified.
Despite the fact that Italy was unified, it wasn t as nearly as strong as Germany
was becoming. Bismarck joined both authoritarianism and nationalism to increase
Prussia s power. He was a very clever diplomat and used whatever means possible to
work towards his goal. Bismarck s Realpolitiks, the pursuing of realistic goals by any
available method instead of the pursuit of an ideology. Bismarck never wanted to
have enemies for long and hoped to pacify the Liberals with foreign policy
achievement, notably the unification of Germany. He wanted to exclude Austria from
the unification process. This led to the Austria Prussian and Franco Prussian wars.
His plan was successful. Even with the fact south German states were reluctant to join
in his unification because of strong religious and political traditions. After the
overpowering of France in 1871 the southern states finally joined. This was the defeat
the brought them together.
Prussia had become the most powerful state in Europe. Most German s were
enormously proud, enormously relieved. And they
Rarr Essay
RAR, an abbreviation for Roshal Archive Compressed, is a compressed file, or
data container that contains some files and folders in it. File sharing websites and
software distributors, at times, put their data in a RAR file so that they can
compress it to a smaller size at a later on stage, which would help you to download
the file faster than usual. These data are encrypted so that its contents are not visible
to other people. Most of the RARfiles are not passwordprotected, like files
containing images, documents, videos, etc. RAR files are handy when you need to
download a vast amount of pictures or videos, as instead of downloading each
photo or video, one by one, you can download all of them at once, by downloading

Social Mobility and Woman vs. Lady in Victorian Soceity
Social Mobility and Woman vs. Lady in Victorian Soceity
The transformation of English society during the Victorian era brought with it
numerous industrial, cultural, as well as social changes. The overwhelming influx of
population from rural to urban areas and the various new job opportunities created
by factories and London?s sudden shift to industrialism affected not only the public,
but also the personal lives of its residents. A new class system had begun to form,
beginning with the emergence of a new middle class. Women were especially
affected by this, because as they were expected to live off of their husbands and
thrive solely on society and their own families, it became increasingly important to
marry well and remain in high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dissimilarities between a lower class bride and her upper class in laws also
mirror the major differences between a ?woman? and the more favored ?lady?.
Can there be a choice of agency between a delicate, consumptive maid, fatigued
with her day s hard work, and a buxom, well constituted lady, whose greatest
exertion has been a drive in the park and the handing to her man a few cards to be
left at friends doors? The one is a servant, the other a lady; and physiogical conditions
stand nowhere in the face of such divine distinctions? (The Victorian Web).
A woman was poorly kept, did her own housework, and took care of her own
children. She was most often a part of the female population in urban areas, and
was almost always of low social status. A woman may have had to work alongside her
husband in a factory to help feed her family, and was not formally educated in
academics or social etiquette. A lady, on the other hand, hardly ever did her own
work. She dressed well, spoke well, and entertained well. She was well educated and
well maintained, and always dressed in the finest of fabrics and carried herself like
royalty. Her children were taken care of by governesses (who were, of course, just
women themselves) and this lady was nearly always a member of upper, or upper
middle class. One of the grand appeals of marrying well was the possibility of
becoming a lady?but
Examining The Functional Connectivity Of A Whole Brain
Atlas
Background: The brain is often considered the most complex organ in the human
body. It is also the most difficult to understand, given the vast array of different
functions spread throughout its mass and the interconnected functionality of its
regions that makes subdividing it based on form or function a difficult task.
Craddock, et al. (2012), in the article examined, attempt to produce a method for
further examining the functional connectivity (FC) of the regions of the brainand
subdivide them based on spatial positioning and function. Understanding FC in the
brain can significantly improve understanding of many brain functions and the
effect of outside stimulus of various parts of the brain. This examination will only
be able to take place by creating an accurate whole brain atlas. This creation of a
whole brain atlas, or a map of the brain separating it into regions of interest (ROI)
based positioning and/or function, has typically been done via fMRI analysis of the
brain combined with an anatomically based mapping procedure. This study seeks to
use fMRI technology combined with an algorithm to create voxel clusters or ROI s
that optimize both spatial coherence and homogeneity in regards to the FC of the
individual ROIs that can closely match of the results of a voxel wise analysis, while
improving on computation power required and interpretability.
Clinical Significance: The usefulness of this technology and methodology can be
found in both neurology research
The Gospel According To The Gospel Of Luke
Introduction to the Gospel according to Luke
Before we begin our series on the Gospel according to Luke, let us have a look at
what this gospel focuses on and what makes it unique compared to the other three
gospels. The Gospel of Luke was probably the last to be written, between 59AD and
70AD. It is thought to have been written by Luke, a Greek, a physician and a
companion of the Apostle Paul. Though personal information about his life is non
existent and like the other synoptics, the author does not clearly identify himself
within the text. One of the few times Luke is mentioned is by Paul, in Colossians
4:14, it says Our dear friend Luke, the doctor and Demas send greetings, indicating
that Luke was travelling with him at this time. ... Show more content on

Even though it is written in more of a Greek style, its subject matter covers the
concerns of Christians, rather than the Greco Roman world. Luke uses an extensive
prologue to introduce his gospel, which is not seen in the other gospels. Luke 1:3 4
says with this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from
the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent
Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been
taught. This formal introduction is not only Greek in nature, setting out the
subject, purpose, method and audience, but is addressed to Theophilus, a name
that means Lover of God or friend of God. This could be an individual, as it was a
name given to men of authority or it could have simply been addressing every
Christian. Here he writes to inform Theophilus of his intention, which is to lead the
reader through an account of events, this was not to justify the Christian belief, but
to encourage the faith of those who did believe. What makes Luke so interesting is
that it is the only gospel to have a sequel, which is the book of Acts. It is believed
that Luke and Acts were written as a two part volume, with the style of writing and
length being similar. Acts even begins by Luke addressing Theophilus, In my former
book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach. (Acts
Civilizations of Ancient China and East Asia
The main major theme of module three is the development in China and East Asia.
The chapters cover the social, philosophical, cultural, governmental and religious
aspects. The chapters offer an insight of how China and Eastern Asian cultures had
developed. It also elaborates on the dynasties that had ruled during this era.
China was isolated from West and South Asia because of the demographics of the
land. The writing system was not influenced by other cultures. They had created a
logographic system of writing. Every word had its own symbol. This writing system
was not only a major part of Chinese literature but also played a large part in the
political process. The Shang Dynasty was the first to have writing, cities, chariots, and

The Zhou created smaller domains which would eventually over through the central

Zhou was being under minded by the advancement in military technology. While
trying to encourage populations by increasing land cultivation, iron technology
advancement also promoted economic expansion.
During this time Confucius emerged and brought on the ethical thought that family
was the basic unit of society (64). His recorded sayings were in the Analects which
were written by his disciples. His political ideas that the government should work
for the people, and the people should work with their government were also
followed by Menicus, and Xunzi. Daoism which focused on the larger importance
of natural order instead of making human actions the center of importance was
identified as Dao, or the Way. Legalist insisted on the need for rigorous laws instead
of following the ideals of Confucius. The laws of the Legalists were designed as
much to constrain officials as to regulate the common people. (71) Yin and Yang were
also and important strain of Chinese thought.
China was finally unified when the state of Qin adopted the Legalist policies, and

Gun Crime Solution
Reasons why we still do not have a viable solution to answer gun crime have to do
with the politics surrounding the issue of gun control. The politics to blame are
highlighted in an article by The Washington Post, In 1996, the Republican majority
Congress threatened to strip funding from the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention unless it stopped funding research into firearminjuries and deaths. The
National Rifle Association accused the CDC of promoting guncontrol. As a result, the
CDC stopped funding gun control research. Also The National Institute of Justice, an
arm of the U.S. Department of Justice, funded 32 gun related studies from 1993 to
1999, but none from 2009 to 2012, according to Mayors Against Illegal Guns. The

Why I Deserve A Scholarship Essay. Why Do I Deserve This Scholarship Essay

  • 1. Why I Deserve A Scholarship Essay Writing an essay on the topic of "Why I Deserve A Scholarship" can be quite challenging, as it requires a delicate balance between showcasing one's achievements and qualities without coming across as overly self-promotional. Crafting a compelling narrative that effectively communicates your accomplishments, aspirations, and the impact of receiving a scholarship demands thoughtful reflection and strategic storytelling. Firstly, you need to delve into your own experiences, academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and personal qualities that set you apart. It's not just about listing accomplishments but also demonstrating the character traits and values that make you a deserving candidate. This self- reflection process can be both time-consuming and emotionally taxing as you strive to present the best version of yourself on paper. Moreover, finding the right tone is crucial. You want to convey confidence and enthusiasm without sounding arrogant or entitled. Striking this balance requires a keen awareness of your audience and an understanding of what scholarship committees are looking for in a candidate. It involves tailoring your language to appeal to the values and goals of the organization offering the scholarship. Additionally, you must adhere to the guidelines and word limits set by the scholarship application. This constraint can make the writing process even more challenging, as you must convey a substantial amount of information within a limited space. Each word becomes precious, and every sentence must contribute to the overall narrative and strengthen your case. In essence, writing an essay on why you deserve a scholarship demands a significant investment of time, self-reflection, and careful consideration of your words. It's a task that requires not only a strong command of language but also an ability to showcase your unique qualities effectively. For those who find themselves struggling with this task or any other writing challenges, it's worth noting that assistance is available. Services like HelpWriting.net offer support in crafting essays, research papers, and more. Whether it's refining your scholarship essay or tackling other writing projects, seeking help can provide valuable insights and guidance to enhance the quality of your work. • 2. Corporate Social Responsibility Definition This research study is about what the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is, how people define and how I understand this term? According to my research and observations, CSR does not have only one and constant definition. I have read a lot of definitions of CSR and in fact, they are similar but not the same. Briefly, definition and understanding of CSR depends on person to person. Thus, I am going to talk about definitions of the CSR and I will define my own perspective about the CSR. As I mentioned, CSR does not have one definition. There is huge amount of CSR definitions published by business world and economists. Corporate Citizens are expected to be profitable, be abiding the laws, be ethical and be charitable to society. (Carrol, July Aug. 1991.) This pyramid reflects what the CSR is by defining the responsibilities of the corporations in four different stages. First level is Economic responsibilities of the corporations which refers the corporations main goal, making or being profitable. Second step Legal Responsibilities, this stage explains how the corporations act when they do business, obey the laws and follow the rules. Third part of the pyramid is about Ethical responsibilities of the corporations. This step reflects being ethical. On the other word, what the right and wrong is. In addition, Corporations should avoid unfair and non ethical actions in the society. Finally, top of the pyramid reflects being good corporate citizen. I think, it suggests corporations should follow the laws and rules, pay the taxes, do the right and ethical, and take care of its workers and environment. In my opinion this pyramid reflects my exact definition about the CSR. MY CSR DEFINITION According to my research and overall aspects about the Social responsibility as a citizen, Corporate Social
  • 3. Parental Relationships In Music Of The Swamp, And Alison... Introspection on Parental Relationships Relationships between parents and children are an important aspect of life. It forms a basis of one s life, through childhood, in terms of learning morals and developing one s personality. Lewis Nordan, the author of Music of the Swamp, and Alison Bechdel, the author of Fun Home, describe their version of a parent child relationship by crafting their stories in which the children strive for love and acceptance, while receiving doubt, sadness, and distance from their parents, and as a result, the children acquire a lifelong impact on their personality. In Music of the Swamp, Sugar Mecklin has a alcoholic father and a reserved mother. Both parents seem distressed, because of their geography, or at one another, and do not seem to enlighten Sugar by any means. Their influence, especially his father s, is strong, and since most of Sugar s actions are focused on either proving his parents wrong, or mirroring their emotions, Sugar is putting his own happiness at stake. For instance, Sugar s father always indicates to him that their geography, the Delta, is surrounded by death, therefore Sugar takes his father s persistent remark as a metaphorical challenge to prove his father wrong; he uncontrollably digs in his yard as a result, only to become additionally depressed from the outcome. Furthermore, Sugar indicates that his father always encompasses ill luck, and there are multiple incidences in which his father experiences suicidal

This is because magnesium is higher than hydrogen in the reactivity series. Therefore, when the two reactants are combined, a displacement reaction occus and the magnesium displaces the hydrogen, forming magnesium chloride and hydrogen gas. Mg (s) + 2HCl (aq) MgCl 2 (aq) + H 2 (g) Magnesium + Hydrochloric acid Magnesium Chloride + Hydrogen Aim The aim of this investigation is to observe the effect that the concentration of hydrochloric acid (independent variable) has on the rate of reaction (dependent variable) between the magnesium ribbon and the hydrochloric acid.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If there is more surface area exposed to the hydrochloric acid, the particles of acid will have a greater area of magnesium to react with and form successful collisions, thus increasing the rate of reaction. Volume of Hydrochloric Acid Used: An overall volume of 50ml of hydrochloric acid and water should be used for every trial. If a lesser volume is used, this will decrease the rate of reaction as there will be less particles in the HCl to collide with the Mg particles, which will lessen the chance for creating a successful collision, and thus lower the rate of the chemical reactions. Timing of the experiment: Bung with delivery tube should be placed on the conical flask as soon as possible after the magnesium ribbon is dropped. This will ensure that as much of the hydrogen gas gets measured in the measuring cylinder above the trough, in order to obtain accurate measurements when calculating the rate of reactions. Stopwatch will begin as soon as the magnesium is dropped into the hydrochloric acid, so that the timing of the reaction is measured accurately. Cleaning of the magnesium: The ribbon of magnesium will be cleaned with sandpaper to remove the coating on the magnesium metal caused by reactions with atmospheric gases. This needs to be done so that the measuring cylinder measures the gas produced from the reaction

Hardness on the Mohn Scale The Mohs scale is used to measure mineral and gem hardness. Tourmaline falls between 7.0 to 7.5. The numbers of the Mohn scale are determined on how difficult or easy it is for a mineral or gem to be scratched. Numbers range from 1 to 10 with the higher the number, the softer is the mineral. Additional Considerations and Warnings Consider transparency as tourmaline beads range from transparent to opaque. Keep tourmaline stored away from hard materials and harder gemstones to prevent them from damaging it. Training Is the Answer an Article by Rob Rosner Article Summary Rob Rosner s 1999 article titled Training is the answer ... but what was the question? 20 questions to make sure your training really works. starts with a cautionary tale about training seminars gone bad. The author conveys an incident at a health care training seminar where the trainer s admission of knowing nothing about health care, derailed the training program before it even started. After the conclusion of the seminar, the trainer presented his participants with a congratulatory decorative cactus for completing the seminar. When one trainee was asked what he got out of the training; he commented I got a cactus (Rosner, 1999). Mr. Rosner s article is written for training experts and human resource (HR) professionals in mind as a guidance that can be used for designing employee training programs. HR professionals can answer these questions to develop useful guidelines for developing an effective training program or whether training is actually needed in the first place. In the article, Rosner states that avoiding wasting time, production, and precious resources on ineffectual training programs is the ultimate goal for successful training managers. HR representatives need to figure out the solutions to the questions posed in Mr. Rosner s article. A Brief Note On Air Traffic Control ( Atc ) Essay 4.3 VARIOUS MODULES OF DLCA 6500 : 4.3.1 Air Traffic Controller(ATC) Air traffic control (ATC) is a service provided by ground based controllers who direct aircraft on the ground and in the air. The primary purpose of ATC systems is to handle the aircraft downlinks and ground station uplinks. The pilot sends some downlink messages by using MKP (Multi Functional Keypad), CCP(Cursor Control panel) in AM. The pilot will confirm the message by pressing SEND in AFD and it will come to ATC after pressing SEND function in AFD.RIU will then send the message to one of the existing radios (HF, SATCOM or VHF, with the selection of the radio based on special logic contained within the RIU). For a message to be sent over the VHF network, the radio would transmit the VHF signals containing the downlink message. This message is then received by a VHF Remote Ground Station .ATC may use a radar system called Secondary Surveillance Radar to downlink flight parameters allowing radar processing: systems and therefore controllers to see various data on a flight, including airframe unique id (24 bits encoded), indicated airspeed and flight director selected level, amongst others.Any aircraft is required to have clearance from Ground Control. This is normally done via VHF/UHF radio. Figure 4(b): Air Traffic Controller (ATN CM page) Figure 4(c): Air Traffic Controller 4.3.2 Radio Interface Unit (RIU): It is Radio Interface Unit.

Ferrell, Fraderich, and Ferrell, explain in their Business Ethics textbook in 2012 that after several environmental tragedies in the mid to late 2000 s, the company had to reassess their ethical standards and make changes to repair their image and regain the confidence of their stakeholders. During this time, they began investing in wind, solar, biofuels, and many other new types of energy sources. They also created programs to educate citizens and stakeholders about environmental awareness. Most importantly, though, they also tasked their ethicsand compliance team with creating a code of conduct policy and communicate it out to every employee (p.343 345). Considering that BP is a worldwide company, with employees of diverse languages and cultures, this was a very difficult task to complete. Not only would it be a challenge to communicate the new code of conduct out to each employee, but it was even more difficult for the company to enforce it. Because of the lack of understanding on how to deal with ethical dilemmas, managers and employees within the company did not complete proper risk assessment, leading to the worst oil spill in U.S. History. This would come to be known as the Deepwater Horizon spill. BP commonly outsources machinery and companies to complete certain tasks. They did in this case by hiring an oil rig

Link Between Learned Helplessness to Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Depression in Battered Woman Summary: Bargai,Ben Shakhar, and Shalev (2007) designed a study to test the hypothesis that learned helplessness (LH) intervenes the relationship between violence severity and mental disorders in battered women, particularly posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and major depression (MDD). They also hypothesis that the severity of LH, PTSD, and MDD is positively correlated with the severity of violence. LH scores in PTSD positive participants were significantly higher than those whom are non PTSD. This suggest that there is a strong association between high levels of LH and PTSD in battered women. Furthermore, it was discovered that LH is strongly associated with early cultural influence, especially in male dominated backgrounds. Women who are raised in cultures and educational background that promote female submissiveness and prejudice against women are more likely to develop PTSD and depression as a result of male violence. Depression is especially highly correlated with PTSD. Sexual violence was the strongest predictor of PTSD, whereas physical violence alone wasn t significantly correlated. History of child abuse increases LH and therefore, increasingthe risk of depression and PTSD. In conclusion, this study suggests that LH in battered women is associated both with prolonged exposure to violence and other risk factors outside of the abusive relationship, and that the LH mediates the contribution of violence exposure to PTSD and MDD in this population. Critique Overall this study was well designed to test the main hypothesis on learned helplessness contribution on the severity of violence as well as PTSD and MDD symptoms. Nanocurcumin attenuates neurological symptoms of multiple sclerosis through the downregulation of pro inflammatory cytokines and endorsing myelin protection. B.1. English Abstract Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory, neurodegenerative disease that affects more than 40,000 individuals in Egypt alone and 2.5 million people worldwide. MS is also categorized as an autoimmune disease in which the immune system instigates an immune response upon encountering the specific myelin antigen and therefore initiating a constant degradation of the myelin sheath. The frequent loss of the myelin leads to irreversible progressive axonal damage and eventually neural death. Unfortunately, there is no cure for MS. This projects aims to ameliorate neurological structure and function in MS patients by the oral administration of Nanocurcumin. Nanocurcumin is synthesized by loading curcumin on poly (n butylcyanoacrylate) nanoparticles and is coated with polysorbate 80 to ensure the direct delivery of the nanocurcumin across the blood brain barrier and to the brain. Nanocurcumin is expected to attenuate the neurological symptoms of MS through downregulation of the pro inflammatory cytokines and endorse the production of neurotrophic factors that aids in neuroprotection and myelin repair. While the latter seems more acceptable on its face, the former presents a beautiful story filled with meaning. Through Martel s writing, I see religion less as an identification or a label, but rather as a lens in which a follower views the world. Where I might see the ordinary, others may see the divine. This novel inspired me to be more accepting of religion and its purpose for its followers. The book also helped me consider flaws in human nature flaws that I often found in myself. This complex novel was written so beautifully that it inspired me to become a better writer, a better thinker, and, more importantly, increasingly accepting of the others and the lenses through which they understand their

The film focuses on a small team of humans who are fighting against the matrix. There are several themes in this film and many of which are suggested through the material body . The material body is made up of four key elements cinematography, mise en scГЁne, editing and soundtrack. These elements are crucial to the audience s understanding of the narrative and the director s intended meaning. The Two pills scene is a good example of how the material body can be used to analyse the presentation of characters and the narrative. Mise en scГЁne refers to the arrangement and setting up of the stage or set in a movie or play. This consists of setting/dГ©cor, costume, props, actors and lighting (Bordwell Thompson, 2008, p.112). In the two pills scene, the setting appears to be a sitting room in an old, abandoned house. The dГ©cor that now looks dull and drab gives the illusion that it was once a very grand room. There are wooden, period furnishings and the walls appear to be made up of wooden panels. The clip takes place in front of an old, marble like fireplace. The dГ©cor alludes that the setting has been neglected and perhaps forgotten about. The costumes worn by Morpheus and Neo are quite contrasting to one another. However, airports went from hardly any security to full body scanners. According to the article Airport Full Body Scanners, President Obama stated in a press conference on January 7, 2010 after a bombing on December 25, 2009 by Nigerian passenger Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, Rather than a failure to collect or share intelligence, this was a failure to connect and understand the intelligence we already had, but a metal detector can t detect the kind of explosives that were sewn into his clothes (2010). Arguing the idea of full body scanners, some officials believe the images are violating the passengers, especially if the passengers are under the age of eighteen. Nonetheless, other officials would argue the full body scanners are a better method of spotting dangerous substances and materials than just the ordinary metal detectors. According to Alycia B. It is also the most difficult to understand, given the vast array of different functions spread throughout its mass and the interconnected functionality of its regions that makes subdividing it based on form or function a difficult task. Craddock, et al. (2012), in the article examined, attempt to produce a method for further examining the functional connectivity (FC) of the regions of the brainand subdivide them based on spatial positioning and function. Understanding FC in the brain can significantly improve understanding of many brain functions and the effect of outside stimulus of various parts of the brain. This examination will only be able to take place by creating an accurate whole brain atlas. This creation of a whole brain atlas, or a map of the brain separating it into regions of interest (ROI) based positioning and/or function, has typically been done via fMRI analysis of the brain combined with an anatomically based mapping procedure. This study seeks to use fMRI technology combined with an algorithm to create voxel clusters or ROI s that optimize both spatial coherence and homogeneity in regards to the FC of the individual ROIs that can closely match of the results of a voxel wise analysis, while improving on computation power required and interpretability. Luke uses an extensive prologue to introduce his gospel, which is not seen in the other gospels. Luke 1:3 4 says with this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught. What makes Luke so interesting is that it is the only gospel to have a sequel, which is the book of Acts. It is believed that Luke and Acts were written as a two part volume, with the style of writing and length being similar.
