Essay On Road Safety Rules
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Road Safety Rules" poses a unique set of challenges that
require a careful balance of informative content, persuasive arguments, and engaging writing.
One of the primary difficulties lies in presenting the information in a manner that is not only
informative but also captivating for the reader. Striking the right balance between providing
essential details on road safety regulations and keeping the essay engaging can be a delicate task.
Moreover, ensuring that the essay is not merely a compilation of rules but an insightful
exploration of the importance of adhering to these regulations adds an additional layer of
complexity. It demands the integration of statistics, real-life examples, and perhaps personal
experiences to underscore the gravity of the issue.
Addressing the diverse aspects of road safety, including the role of drivers, pedestrians, and
policymakers, requires comprehensive research to provide a well-rounded perspective.
Coherently organizing these varied elements into a seamless narrative while maintaining clarity
can be a challenging endeavor.
In addition, striking the right tone is crucial. Balancing a serious discussion on the potential
consequences of disregarding road safety with a positive call to action for responsible behavior
demands a nuanced approach. Too much emphasis on fear might alienate the reader, while an
overly optimistic tone might undermine the seriousness of the subject.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Road Safety Rules" requires a skillful blend of research,
organization, and persuasive writing. It involves navigating the intricacies of conveying crucial
information while keeping the reader engaged. Despite its challenges, successfully addressing
this topic can contribute significantly to promoting awareness and fostering a sense of
responsibility among readers.

Reflection On Shambhala Meditation
Reflection on Shambhala Meditation A couple weeks ago, while perusing the web
for fun date night ideas, I accidentally stumbled upon the official website for the
Asheville Shambhala Center. The website broadcasted the center as a safe space for
meditation and literary discussion under the tradition of Shambhala, a spiritual and
philosophical school akin but not equivalent to buddhism. Although I certainly
couldn t picture dragging my boo to sit silently for four hours on a hardwood floor in
honor of our anniversary, the message of basic human goodness included in the
center s description intrigued me. I decided to attend one of the Sunday morning
meditationsessions in order to further investigate Shambhala ideology. My GPS

Unfortunately, the lady described the importance of the senses in Shambhala
meditation by describing them as the five tentacles of goodness with which we
reach out to the world . I spent most of the rest of her speech mortified I would
burst out laughing. Even in the moment, while I was dying to run to my car and
privately cackle about the word tentacle like a ten year old, I recognized how
disrespectful my thought process was. I was in the presence of a woman sharing a
sacred practice used to connect to the divine, cracking up about a single word poorly
suited to the context of the American south. It reminded me of our discussion about
Sundiata concerning the sacred and the supernatural. To my horror, the practiceof
Shambhala was so foreign to me, after one awkward moment my brain
subconsciously filed Shambhala under the strange hybrid of eastern and western
practices attempting to appeal to unsatisfied white folks while retaining its exotic
appeal category, and discarded the spiritual significance of the practice entirely.
After reflecting, I realized that the way I categorized Shambhala was disgustingly
riddled with egotistical, American first bias, white people first bias. Since I was not
familiar with Shambhala, it was easy for me to categorize the practice as ineffective
and wrong, disregarding the deep spiritual significance the practice
My Friend Uploaded A Post On Facebook And It Got Me...
Recently my friend uploaded a post on Facebook and it got me contemplating. The
question was posed by a man named Alan Watts and he asked, What would you
like to do if money were no object? This inquiry seems to be wandering the internet
a bit because this was roughly the third time that I have regarded it, so I took it as
a sign and I paused to direct this question to myself. Of course, there is a multitude
of things that I yearn to do. If money wasn t the issue like many of us make it out to
be, of course, there would be ample to do. I discern that this question is posed more
for what type of work would you do but I was thinking about stuff that I would love
to do regardless. The most predominate desire for me is to travel. I love to write and
that will always be a constant thing, but I think it would be great to do both.
I recognize that many people would have a similar response, yet my strong desire to
travel made me consider deeply as to why I had such a tenacious want for it. I believe
one of the reasons why that deep down, we still hold on to the ancient survival
instinct of migration, which can never really be satisfied. I believe that this could
also hold true for me. As I think more about it, I find that it was not really the
destinations that I want to go to but the means of the journey that I wish to experience
. My husband is the one who made me conscious of this. He likes to travel and see
places as well, but just didn t understand the concept of people

The Consequences of Noncompliance Introduction This paper is about the changes
in the HIPAA Privacy and Security rules and its impact on the health care industry,
this paper will show how the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) is increasingly
modifying the Act to match the technological advancements within the health arena.
The paper will also elaborate on some of the consequences of violating HIPAA and
some case examples are cited in this paper. The last section of this paper enumerates
how this course has allowed me to reflect on the Benedictine Hallmarks of

conclusion is drawn from my research on the consequences of violating HIPAA in
the healthcare industry. The Consequences of Noncompliance with HIPAA The
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) was enacted in 1996
to protect employees health insurance coverage when they lose or change jobs. It
also has provisions that ensure the privacy and confidentiality of identifiable health
information. According to the HHS web page (2016), the major goal of the Privacy

allowing the flow of health information needed to provide and promote high quality
health care, and to protect the public s health and wellbeing. Therefore, to
appropriately enforce and regulate HIPAA, certain protocols and noncompliance

Cross Gender Communication Essay
Cross Gender Communication: And the Problems Associated with It.
Women and men are different in many ways. They see the world through completely
different perspectives which leads to differences in communication. Women
communicate with their partners not only because they want to talk to someone, but
they also use conversation as an opportunity to bond intimately with their partner,
explore and share thoughts, and express her anxieties. Men on the other hand believe
that all conversations should have a clear purpose, he doesn t need or want to hear the
small details, he listens passively not patiently, he wants to tackle the problem head
on otherwise he loses interest in what the women is trying to convey. Men and
women want to keep each other happy but with the differences in both sexes it could
be easy to end up in a frustrated state of conflict and resentment if they don t
understand each other since the beginning of the relationship. Effective gender
communication is essential to every thriving relationship; however, lack of
communication and problem resolve could result in relationship conflict and
unsatisfied partners if it is not addressed or acknowledged.
Relationships start off with two people showing their best behavior, they connect on
multiple levels and far too often adjust themselves to fit in the relationship they are
in. With time, the connection deepens and the level of fulfillment excels and both
partners find themselves compromising considerable things
Symbolic Interactionism In A House
Housing prices for detached homes in the GTA have sky rocketed from what they
were a decade ago and show no signs of slowing down. With this in mind, home
buyers find it difficult to invest in a home due to their socioeconomic status, yet
they still make a personal choice to do so. The article, Toronto and area house
prices, out of reach for most (Montgomery, 2015), addresses the inflation of
housing prices but entails a very narrow lens to the identity of the home buyer.
Symbolic interactionism would analyze this issue from a micro level perspective.
The theory emphasizes the importance of an individual s subjective meanings and
how these interpretations help create their own social state of affairs (Brym R,
2013). Looking at the article from a symbolic interactionist perspective, it can be
noted Montgomery fails to explain the house is in itself a reflection of the
homeowner s individuality and desire to impress upon the public eye. Erving
Goffman would rationalize the house as a mode of presenting the homeowner in the
best possible light, this is known as dramaturgical analysis (Brym R, 2013). The
home embodies both the homeowners public roles and true selves. Notice the
privilege in owning a home is subjected to the statuses people occupy that in turn
speaks about the role sets they play, but the combination of these social influences is

The article expresses how prices for detached homes has increased rapidly compared
to rates of income. Although the author looks at how the prices impacts home buyers,
he fails to address certain facets that could have been explained using symbolic
interactionism. The identity of the home buyer was overlooked as the young couple,
disregarding peoples unique connotations they have attached to their idea of a home.
Symbolic interactionism looks to understand the mentality of the home buyer and
how it is reflected in their
The Evolution Of Owls
Owls are interesting nocturnal animals that have evolved in many ways other than
birds. There are over 200 different species of owls and they have all evolved
differently but they share some common characteristics. Some environmental
adaptations that owls have are silent flight, keen eyesight, and the ability to hunt.
Owls have silent flight which helps them catch prey. They also fly without much
effort, because their wings are large compared with the size of their bodies. With
large wings and a light body one can see an owl fly past but they will most likely
not hear them. Because of this owls can carry heavy animals, fly among thick trees,
and hover above open fields. Owls have silent flight from fringed feathers that muffle

Persuasive Essay For Vaccination
In the last century, vaccinations have become the single most leading achievement
in public health because these vaccines have saved millions of lives as well as
prevented illness and lifelong disability. These childhood diseases that once
resulted in hospitalization, death or lifelong consequences only a few decades ago
have now become preventable. If we do not vaccinate against diseases such as RV,
Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Measles, Mumps, and Rubella there could be
serious outbreaks. It is my belief that as parents, the goal is to give children a healthy
start in life and one of the most important decisions that can be made is to get your
child vaccinated, especially since there are no effective alternatives to immunization.

Once America s most feared diseases and causing death and paralysis across the
country, thanks to vaccination, there are no reports of polio in the United States.
There are so many people that are unable to receive vaccinations because they are too
young to be vaccinated, have medical contraindications to vaccines, or have vaccine
failure that it is so important to have your child vaccinated and adhere to the
recommended immunization schedule suggested by the CDC. These vaccines
will not harm your child and are only given to children after a long and careful
review by scientists, doctors, and healthcare professionals. The only side effect
that a child may experience from the vaccine is some minor discomfort as well as
some pain, redness, or tenderness at the site of the injection. This is a minor price
to pay as compared to the possible pain, discomfort and trauma of the diseases that
can be prevented. There may be serious side effects following the vaccination, such
as a severe allergic reaction. The chances of an allergic reaction are very rare. The
disease prevention benefits of getting vaccines are much greater than the possible
side effects for almost all children. If an unvaccinated child is exposed to one of
these potentially deadly illnesses, such as measles, the child s body may not be
strong enough to fight against the disease and they will contract the illness. Before
vaccines were established, many children died from diseases such as whooping cough,

Research Paper On Zero-Based Grading System
To be an accountant requires hard work. The road to success is full of challenges. To
reach a dream, one must work hard and exert effort.
The course Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) is one of the prominent
courses in De La Salle Lipa (DLSL). BSA is a respected course and only few survive
it. The major deal about the program is that it has a distinct grading system than other
courses. The De La Salle Lipa implements the zero based grading system which
causes the major subjects difficult to pass. Correspondingly, not only students from
different courses but also the accountancy students wonder why the accountancy
program has particular grading system.
The zero based grading system is one of the hardest grading systems. The grading
system is built primarily for students to maintain a limited number of mistakes in
examinations and seat works which is vital to every Accountancy students for reason
that it helps the students be used to petty mistakes to be prepared in the Certified
Public Accountant (CPA) Board examination. However, this grading system results to
failure of students in major subjects due to its difficulty.

Have positive attitude.
A.According to Linda Cole who wrote the article called: Dog Training with
Consistency and Patience. :
1.Stay calm. You can not force a dog to learn.
2.Understand the breed you are training. Each breed is different. Some may need
more time consuming learning, while others may learn in just couple tries. Some are
just stubborn.
3.Linda Cole also mentioned to exercise the hound before training. This will help the
trainer to have a positive attitude, since the dog will be more obedient.
4.Once you are paws itive it will be easier to be consistent with the training.
B.Speaking of being consistent, according to Ian Dunbar who made a TED talk
called Dog friendly dog training. in December of 2007:
1.In his TED talk Mr. Dunbar mentioned that puppies need to be trained treated same
as adult dogs.
2.If you let a puppy jump on you, once he/she are eighty pounds they will do the
same thing and it will be very hard to fix this habit. His only crime is that he grew.

The Murder Case Of Stanford White
In the early 1900s, the murder case of Stanford White would shock the world and
would soon be named the crime of the Century. Stanford White was an up and
coming architect during the late 1800 s, he was especially gaining fame in New York
City after forming the Mckee, Mead and White company with other architects. One of
his many accomplishments was the building of the Madison Square GardenTower in
1890. Meanwhile in Philadelphia, 14 year old Florence (a.k.a. Evelyn) Nesbit was
gaining fame as a model after beginning discovered by a local artist. This led her to
gain connections to huge modeling companies, all wanting her to pose for them.

In 1902, Evelyn was introduced to illustrator John Barrymore. They had a
blossoming romance that was soon shut down by White and Mrs. Nesbit.
Barrymore had even proposed to Evelyn but she rejected him due to his low salary.
After her small relationship with John Barrymore, she met the rich railroad man
known as Harry Thaw. Thaw and White were already rivals so as a way to get back
at White he began to pursuing Evelyn by showering her with gifts and money. He
proposed to Evelyn multiple times but was rejected because she had been warned
by Stanford, of Thaw s mental conditions and of his drug abuse. Another factor
causing her to neglect his proposals was she wouldn t marry him without
confessing her past affair. After Evelyn recovered from a surgery that some
believed as an abortion surgery in 1902, Harry invited Mrs. Nesbit and Evelyn on
a trip across Europe. Halfway through the trip, Mrs. Nesbit returns back to the
U.S., leaving Harry and Evelyn alone in Europe. Harry once again continues to
propose to Evelyn but becomes an frusturated as he is rejected once again. When
she finally confesses her past sexual affair with White, he blames Mrs. Nesbit for
not taking good care of her daughter. While they stayed at a castle in Austria, Harry
would physically abuse Evelyn and then apologize right after. When rumors spread
that Evelyn and Harry got married in Europe, Thaw s family was furious at the news
and called Harry to return

The Death Penalty At The Boston Marathon
On April 15th, 2013, two separate bombings occurred near the finish line of the
Boston Marathon resulting in three deaths and approximately 264 injuries. Two
Chechen brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who were suspected of planting
the devices were quickly hunted by thousands of law officials. Tamerlan was shot
several times and pronounced dead at the scene. The younger brother, Dzhokhar, was
eventually captured and was indicted on thirty charges relating to homegrown
terrorism, including use of a weapon of mass destruction of property and death. He
was found guilty on all charges on April 8th, 2015 and the following month was
sentenced to death.
I watched this trial with anticipation of the outcome. What punishment would be
given to the young man who participated in this egregious assault on American soil
which all civilized society abhors. The sentence was death by lethal injection. The
verdict came despite a distaste for capital punishment in Boston and across
Massachusetts. The death penalty was banned in 1984 and a convict has not been

Different Opinions And Ideas About The Theories Of...
In this class, we have discussed many different opinions and ideas about the theories
of personalities. Of these, I have chosen to incorporate ideas from myself,
McAdams, Freud, Jung, Adler, and Horney. I believe that there are seven personality
types and each is displayed as a personification in a character from the Peanuts
cartoons and comics. The personalities are Neuroticism, Openness to Experience and
Imagination, Psychoticism, Passive Aggressive Dependency, Histrionicism,
Introversion, and Extraversion. These personality types make up the world, and I
believe that any single person can actually have several different personalities. It can
be noted that three of the Big Five by McAdams are included in my breakdown of...

Horney came up with a list of ten needs that Neurotic people have. These needs
include The Neurotic need for affection and approval which Charlie Brown clearly
shows in his worry about how others view him (Hall, Lindzey, Campbell, 1998) ;
The Neurotic ambition for personal achievement which is displayed in his over
analysis of everything to try and always improve himself for personal
achievement(Hall, Lindzey, Campbell, 1998) ; And The Neurotic need for
perfection and unassailability which is again shown in his worry over his
inadequacies (Hall, Lindzey, Campbell, 1998) . These negative feelings and thoughts
toward everyday life lead me to believe that Charlie Brown is a near perfect
personification of neuroticism.
Openness to Experience and Imagination In the Peanuts comic, Linus is known as
Charlie Brown s best friend and he carries around a blanket most of the time. This
security blanket helps Linus be open to experiences and imagination. McAdams
describes openness to experience as a cluster of characteristics having to do with how
reflective, imaginative, artistic, and refined a person is (McAdams, 2009). Linus is
one of the most thoughtful, intelligent and inviting of the characters in Peanuts. He
listens to others while thoughtfully thinking about what is said, and he keeps his
mind wide open to the possibility that he will see things that others may not. For
example, Linus is the only
Naty Pumppo Characteristics
Natty Bumppo: The Cowboy In the film Last Of The Mohicans, Natty Bumppo
functions as a cowboy because he portrays the self reliant characteristics that makes
him stand out from other characters. Natty Bumppo ruggedness depict his self
reliance. His hunting skills are one of the traits that make him a cowboy. For
example, at the opening of the movie, Natty Bumppo accompanied by Uncas and
Chingachgook chase down a deer in the forest. Shortly after this, Natty Bumppo kills
it with ease. This scene illustrates the romantic genre, which is unrealistic,
accompanied by larger than life characteristics. Natty Bumppo uses these
characteristics in order to kill the deer so effortlessly. Natty Bumppo s unbelieveable
hunting skills exemplify his self reliance, along with overall cowboy... Show more

Additionally, Natty Bumppo s near fearlessness, as well as how he is portrayed as
a warrior skilled in many weapons, represent his self reliance. For example, at the
Huron ambush, Natty Bumppo cuts through two Hurons in a row just in time to
stop Magua from firing on the Munro women. This depicts Natty Bumppo as
indestructible because of his ruggedness, along with his larger than life combat
skills. When he saves Alice and Cora, Natty Bumppo is portrayed as a cowboy
because he is does not have to rely on anyone else to defend and rescue the women
and himself. The last example of his warrior skills are in the final chase scene after
Uncas has been killed. This scene shows Natty Bumppo accompanied by
Chingachgook chasing after Magua and his men. Natty Bumppo kills one man
while running, picks up another gun, then proceeds to kill two men simultaneously.
The portrayal of Natty Bumppo as a skilled warrior, as well as a pure hero who only

The Internal Topology Of The Park Bench
Topology:
Internal Topology:
The internal topology within this performance relies heavily on the fact that the
stage is rounded and there is a single park bench (split in half and facing opposite
ways) in the centre of it. The cyclical view of life is not only symbolically
represented through the stage to the audience but also by the nature of the stage in
regards to the actors. The two characters as at the opposite end of a shared cycle is
also represented through the utilisation and manipulation of the park bench. Marion s
book is able to represent the shift that is to occur as Marion exits the cycle of her life
and the Girl is to enter. Thus, the internal topology as per the spacing of elements on
the stage is instrumental in portraying the intended meaning for the greatest audience
impact.
One of the greatest challenges regarding the internal topology of this play is the
notion of having an eighty year old woman meet a sixteen year old version of
herself as the preconceived notion of space and time shifts. This is dealt with across
the technical disciplines through the unity in developing their individual roles and
the contrasting display of their relationship. The notion of such meeting can be
perceived as quite strange to an audience when presented as reality however it is
through the manipulation of their roles and their relationship, achieved by the
various technical disciplines, that such occurrence is able to be achieved. This
meeting, through the roles of the
Jackson Vs Kanye West Essay
In her epilogue article Crack Music: Michael Jackson s Invincible, Elizabeth Amisu
brings to light a multitude of striking similarities between a handful of seemingly
unrelated artists. The artists in question being Michael Jackson, Kanye West, and
none other than William Shakespeare. Upon first reading the article, I could see the
similarities between Michael Jackson and Kanye West, as both were black artists who
were able to break through into the mainstream musicindustry despite institutional
limitations. However, I initially believed that their relation to Shakespeare was quite
a stretch, but after reading further realized that Shakespeare had many similar
hurdles to overcome as Jackson and West, just perhaps in different forms. Jackson,
West, and Shakespeare all had to overcome a multitude of obstacles in their own
careers in order for their talents to be recognized by the mainstream. Jackson had to
overcome racial barriers that were designed to keep exclusively whites in the music
industry.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, both Michael Jackson and Kanye West brought new sounds to their
respective genres. Jackson brought rock aspects and soul aspects into the pop
industry, and was one of the trailblazers when it came to technological music. West
integrated orchestral music and gospel choirs into a few of his albums ( Kanye West,
2017). On top of that, both Jackson and West had sizable impacts on industries
outside of their main one, particularly the fashion industry. Michael Jackson s impact
came from the clothes that he wore in his short films and his live performances,
iconic outfits such as the Beat It Jacket, and the suit that he wore in Smooth Criminal.
Kanye West actually held a stake in the fashion industry, partnering with companies
such as Nike early on and eventually launching his own apparel
Ethylene Glycol And Potential Exposure Sources
Ethylene glycol ( CAS # 107 21 1), also known as monoethylene glycol (MEG), 1,2
ethanediol, 2 hydroxyethanol, dihydroxyethanol, glycol, glycol alcohol, and
ethylene alcohol , is a toxic, colorless, odorless, sweet, and viscous liquid (NLM,
2012). It is a member of the glycol family, a group of simple organic chemicals
characterized by two hydroxyl ( OH) groups at adjacent positions on a hydrocarbon
chain (WHO, 2002). This unique chemical arrangement contributes to: high solubility
in water, lower aliphatic alcohols, glycerol, acetic acid, acetone and similar ketones,
aldehydes, pyridine, and similar coal tar bases and high hygroscopicity (NLM,
2012).. Ethylene glycolhas a high boiling point, low freezing point, low corrosive
activity and is relatively non volatile (NLM, 2012).
Uses of ethylene glycol and Potential Exposure Sources
Ethylene glycol is used: in the production of polyester fibers, PET resins, alkyd,
unsaturated polyester, safety explosives, glyoxal, cosmetics and synthetic waxes ;
as a chemical intermediate (NIOSH, 1995); as a component of automotive
antifreeze, coolants, and hydraulic fluids (ATSDR, 2007a); as a de icing agent; as a
heat transfer fluid in heating and cooling systems and solar energy systems

Profit Maximization Model
SAMPLE ANSWER FOR QUESTION 5
Profit making is one of the most traditional, basic and major objectives of a firm.
Profit motive is the driving force behind all business activities of a company. It is
the primary measure of success or failure of a firm in the market. Profit earning
capacity indicates the position, performance and status of a firm in the market. In
spite of several changes and development of several alternative objectives, profit
maximization has remained as one of the single most important objectives of the firm
even today.
Both small and large firms consistently make an attempt to maximize their profit by
adopting novel techniques in business. Specific efforts have been made to maximize
output and minimize production and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are as follows
1. Profit maximization is the main goal of the firm.
2. Rational behavior on the part of the firm to achieve its goal of profit maximization.
3. The firm is managed by owner entrepreneur.
Determination of profit maximizing price and output
Profit maximization of a firm can be explained in two different ways.
В· Total Revenue and Total Cost approach.
В· Marginal Revenue and Marginal Cost approach.
Profits of a firm are estimated by making comparison between total revenue and
total costs. Profit is the difference between TR and TC. In other words, excess of
revenue over costs is the profits. Profit = TR TC. If TR is equal to TC in that case,
there will be break even point. If TR is less than TC, in that case, a firm will be
incurring losses. In this case, we take in to account of total cost and total revenue of
the firm while measuring profits.
It is clear from the following diagram how profit arises when TR is greater than that
of TC.
2. MR and MC approach
In this case, we take in to account of revenue earned from one unit and cost incurred
to produce only one unit of output. A firm will be maximizing its profits when
MR= MC and MC curve cuts MR curve from below. If MC curve cuts MR curve
from above either under perfect market or under imperfect market, no doubt MR
equals MC but total output will not be maximized and hence total profits also will
not be maximized. Hence, two conditions are
Two Opposite Furry Friends
All my years growing up our family had a dog. Sometimes we would have the
same breed again and again. At other times we would have a different breed each
time. Out of all the dogs we had, there were two that couldn t be any more
different, they were Ziggy and Mugzy. We had those two at the same time for a
while. The differences were like night and day. Those two were always enjoyable,
sometimes confusing, and very entertaining. Ziggy was a Teacup Poodle and Mugzy
was a Pekingese.
To begin with it would be impossible not to notice their physical differences. Mugzy
was longer in length with short legs, a flat face and a tongue that always hung out.
Ziggy was small but everything was proportionate, he had a longer snout with white
sharp teeth. Mugzy s fur was a dark tan, while Ziggy s fur was bright white. Ziggy s
hair was stiff and curly, but Mugzy s was long, soft, and fluffy. My dad hated, I
mean hated with a passion, Mugzy s hair. Mostly because he shed everywhere. My
dad was allergic as well so that made his hate even stronger. Ziggy s hair on the
other hand rarely needed any brushing because he didn t shed and other than an
occasional trim, it stayed short. One late summer my dad had finally had enough
of Mugzy s hair and shaved him from neck to base of his tail. Imagine a lions mane
and tail. The poor thing looked so sad to have all his hair gone. But I think even he
felt better. It had been a very warm summer.
Another difference that was not hard to miss

Discourses in Childhood
What is a discourse? Describe two competing discourses of childhood and suggest the
ways that they can have an impact on children s lives.
The concept of discourse is the key to understanding a social constructionist
approach to childhood. A discourse is an independent set of interrelated ideas held
by a particular ideology or worldview. The social constructionist approach tries to
describe the different ways in which knowledge of children and childhoods are
constructed.
Different discourses of childhood have different ideas of childhood which has
different implications on the way in which children are treated. Within the social
constructionist theory there are 3 main discourses romantic, puritan and tabula rasa.

However in a scene where Lester thinks his fantasy of Angela is about to come true,
Angela reveals that she innocent in her knowledge of sexual matters, reminding
viewers that she is still a child in need of protection. This film clip began as depicting
an amoral, sinful, knowing young girl in line with the puritan discourse and ends by
depicting children as people in need of protection and who are innocent, and as
childhood as a time which adults should be protecting the child from anything that
will shatter the child s innocence. In a sense, the end of the clip depicts the adult s

These discourses affect our views of children which in turn affects how children are
thought of and therefore treated. In adopting a Romantic view, you will see children
as innocence which in the 2 media clips, was associatedwith vulnerability and purity.
According to Rousseau, children should be protected from the adult world, and
everything should be done to make their childhood a happy carefree time. As already
seen though through the 2 film clips, the Puritan discourse treats children as being
unruly and in need of control. They are treated as being responsible

Case Study Of Chanel And Louis Vuitton
Throughout centuries, luxury brands such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton had been
highly popular among young Korean female consumers. However, after explosive
growth since 2010 driven by Chinese consumers, there has been a clear sign of
slowdown. To be more specific, Louis Vuitton s sales growth has been decreasing at
major department stores in Korea for years. The industry officials state that changing
macro trend in Korean market has contributed to such decline. There has been
increase in individual lifestyle such as eating, drinking, and travelling alone, which
led consumers to seek for their personal value rather than passively following the
trend. Moreover, spending patterns of consumers have changed from owning the
product to getting an experience . In this regard, this paper aims to provide new
guidelines for Louis Vuitton to resolve its declining market share and regain its status
as a truly Myeong pum brand in the Korean luxury market.

Nowadays, retail stores not only display products, but also have their own thematic
decorations in relation to the brand identity. One example of such unique retail store
would be the luxury store design in Hong Kong boutique of Chanel. The store concept
is an emulation of Coco Chanel s Parisian apartment, and its design displays include
all the style elements associated with Coco Chanel during her lifetime, which have
formed signature elements of the band. In this sense, consumers can experience and

Deprivation Of Lethal Discourse
Deprivation of accepted resources is perhaps one of the lethal lapses mankind has
ever prepared in its voyage of progress and civilization. All the natural resources are
contaminated with lethal lapses. Among them the land and water resources are worst

anthropogenic interventions. If we talk about the soul of infinite life i.e., SOIL then
it seems to appear the primary recipient by design or accident of a myriad of waste

The Importance Of Sustainable Development
A group of adolescents sitting inside an internet cafГ© are discussing their local
newscast website s trending topics. All though sustainable development has been a
topic of discussion for years, some teenagers are not aware of it. Ordinarily relatively
knowledgeable about diverse subjects, Ron interrogated the group for responses about
sustainable development. To which, Ami acknowledges ignorance of the subject.
Though not completely knowledgeable about sustainable development, Dena
communicated observation of people conversing about sustainable development,
noting that some were louder and more passionate than others about it. After locating
the definition of sustainable development electronically Jenny chimed in, this 1987
United Nations report states, sustainable development refers to a type of
development, stating that it will ensure that it meets the needs of the present without
compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs (as cited in
Aikins, 2014). Of course, this definition did not satisfy their inquisitive minds, so
they decided to further their investigation of sustainable development. Hayden and
Theo heard the group talking about sustainable development and expressed their
desire and willingness to assist them with researching the subject. After a brief
thought, the group unanimously welcomed Hayden and Theo to join them. Shortly
after joining the group, Theo presented the others with an article about sustainable

The Egyptian World
Throughout the Egyptian world, embalmers worked to preserve the inner life force
that was thought to reside within the body after death. It was common belief that
by completing a seventy day process known as mummification, the Ka, this
spiritual entity, would be able to live on long after the person died. Because of this,
many people of the culture lived modest lives on Earth, saving immense amounts of
money and gold for intricate objects that could serve practical and decorative
purposes for their tombs. Every step of the preparations was handled with
meticulous care as it was believed that life on Earth was limited, while life in the
afterlife was eternal. This cultural ideology of eternal life after deathis emulated by
the statuary of the Egyptian world especially by the granite pair statueof Nefu and
Khemet setju from Giza, which was found in 1931 on the Harvard University
Museum of Fine Arts Expedition. During the Old Kingdom, artists worked to form
statues that could accompany the body within the tomb, and if necessary, serve as
alternative dwellings for the Ka.The pair statue, which was created between 2455
BC and 2350 BC in the Fifth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, was likely created for
this reason. One can identify the genderof the figures by recognizing how Egyptian
artists typically depicted males with darker skin than women. This common practice
along with the residual red paint on the body of the figure at the right, allows one to

Federal Law And State Law

The real issue in criminal subject jurisdiction is whether the charges should be
pursued by federal or state law. In the event that the charges affirm an infringement of
federal Criminal Law, the respondent will be attempted in a federal court that is
situated in the state in which the offense was perpetrated. In the event that the
charges affirm an infringement of state law, the respondent will confront arraignment
in a trial court that has jurisdiction over the territory in which the offense was
conferred. On the off chance that a wrongdoing abuses both federal and state law, the

charm, and also as a source of food. While the nature has gifted humankind with
different flowers, scientific research have added more varieties to them. Because of
which, their significance and importance kept changing and growing with the
passage of time. But what hasn t changed since the old times are their reverence and
use in different events. Here, we are going to see 5 different flowers with their
importance and meaning for events.
Jasmine
These are the diminutive flowers loved not only by humans, but also by Gods. There
is no surprise that they have found a mention in the ancient Hindu scriptures. Right
from worshiping the lord to decorating wedding venues, homes, and for bridal
makeup, jasmine are one of the favourite flowers of all regardless of their faith.
They are also used in making garlands for weddings and funerals. Due to their sweet
aroma, they are also used in making perfumes and incense sticks for pleasing the
god. Besides spreading fragrance in the atmosphere, jasmines also offer health
benefits to human beings. Just drink a cup of jasmine tea or any ... Show more content

Whether it is pooja, wedding, or any other celebrations, these lovely blooms add
life and happiness to the events. They have been the favourite blooms of the god
and have been mentioned in old scriptures. Marigold flowers have been named
after the god of wisdom Tages and hence they are regarded importance in all
celebrations. During Dipawali and Dusshera, many Hindus use marigold flowers and
mango leaves and make garland for idols and to tying them on the entrance door
frames. One interesting reason for using marigold in auspicious occasion is its
piercing odour that drives away inspects and
Sonnet 95 Summary
In sonnet 95, the speaker depicts a paternal feeling while speaking to the addressee,
where indeed the poet reminds his audience about way appearance can be so
deceiving. The young man is relying on his good appearance to veil his sexual
immorality. Being that he is handsome and attractive, people are reluctant to
disapprove his behavior. In the first quadrant, the poet employs different stylistic
devices, which include simile, as the young manis likened to a fragrant rose, and on
the other hand, he is compared to a destructive worm, but all his dark side of life is
hidden under his good looking and charming nature. What is important about this
poem is the manner in which the speakerreminds the young man about his bad
behavior and draws examples that makes him feel sorry about what he does behind
his good looking nature. By the use of diction, imagery, diction, images, metaphors
and other figures of speech, such as tone of voice, allusions, syntax and structure of
the speech, the speaker warns the young man against his sexual immorality, and
reminds him that there are detrimental risks associated with his behavior if he does
not change.
In the first quadrant, the speaker examines both sides of the young man s life where
he looks at the darker and better sides but most importantly demonstrating the way
he misuses his good looking ability to commit sexual crimes. However, the speaker
does not condemn it openly but appreciates his good look how sweet and lovely (1),

The Role Of Ellen Pence And Her Contribution To
Domestic...
Introduction Ellen Pence, also known as the mother of domestic violence intervention
and rockstar of the battered women s movement was a social activist for battered
women, helped build the foundation of batterer programming with the Duluth model
(also known as the Domestic Abuse Intervention Project (DAIP)), which assisted in
connecting the concerns of criminal justice officials and advocates by developing a
Power and Control Wheel (Gondolf, 2010, p. 992). She also created the Coordinated
Community Response (CCR), which brings all community service providers to help
victims of domestic violence, and created a shelter for battered women. In addition,
Ellen is the founding director of Praxis International, a nonprofit corporation that
aims to eliminate violencein the lives of women and their children.
Ellen Pence and Her Contributions to Domestic Violence
Domestic Violence and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Approximately 1.3 million
women each year are victims of physical assault by a partner in the United States,
with larger numbers of such incidents not being reported (Herman, Rotunda,
Williamson, Vodanovich, 2014, p. 2). Intimate partner violence (IPV) is defined as
sexual, physical, or psychological harm by a current or former partner or spouse,
which can include sexual violence, psychological and emotional violence, or
physical violence (Herman et al., 2014, p. 2). IPV is also known as dating violence,
domestic violence, family violence, or spouse abuse.
College Education
In the United States, most Americans are fortunate to be able to obtain a high school
education. After high school, many of these students go on to pursue a college
degree. In places such as my hometown, going to college is the norm, not the
exception. However, this education comes at a cost. Some people would argue that
the outcomes of collegeare worth the expense, while others would say that in today s
day and age college is a waste of time and money.
Many higher education enthusiasts would argue that college is economically worth
the financial investment. Philip Trostel (n.d.) claims that students who graduate with
a bachelor s degree make, on average, $32,000 more a year, and $625,000 more in a
lifetime (even considering the four ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Huber and Kuncel (2016) also note the non economic advantages of obtaining a
college degree. Their study on critical thinking found that the typical college student
experiences a significant increase in their ability to think critically from the time they
are freshman until the time they graduate. Another finding in Huber and Kuncel s
work was that even though critical thinking skills are greater for college graduates
than those who chose not to attend college, this difference of critical thinking ability
has declined in recent years. However, this is not to say that they believe that
colleges are no longer adequately teaching students to think critically. Instead, they
explain that the level of critical thinking skills developed in college has begun to
decrease because students are entering college with more critical thinking skills in the
first place. In other words, it is not that students are no longer achieving the same
standard, it is that the students are not achieving the same level of growth because
they had more critical thinking skills to begin with.
Others contend that pursuing a Bachelor s degree actually puts young adults at an
economic disadvantage. Joe Weisenthal (2012) reported that from 2000 2010 the
average cost of tuition and fees for a public, four year college increased by 72%. Not
only are the costs of college increasing at incredible rates, but earnings for graduates
with a Bachelor s degree actually decreased over
Hitler s Response To The Collapse Of The Western Allies
What were the responses of the European powers? British and French leaders
misinterpreted Hitler s intentions. They believed it was Hitler s desire to just have
the restrictions that were handed down in the peace settlement overturned. However,
come 1939 they started to believe Hitler had desire to dominate Europe. On
September 1, 1939, German invaded Poland, and two days later the Western Powers
declared war on Germany. So, for the first eight months of the war Western Europe
remained quiet. Britain s Prime Minister Chamberlain believed the war would hurt
the Germany economy so much that it would lead to civilian morale collapse. The
British and the French declared war on Germany, but with any real drive to do battle.
Both are concerned with what the Soviet Unionis doing in Finland, but they don t get
involved with that as well as with Germany and Poland. While Poland was under
attack, the French made an offensive named Saar. The Saar Offensive could have
been a game changer to German troops, in the war with Poland, but because of the
French s laid back approach they failed to defeat the Germans and once Poland fell
the French withdrew. The lackluster response from France was largely due to the
beating they took in WW I.

The Western Allies language was to use plans that were successful in WW I. They
have a great deal of talk but have no action, so nothing came out of all this talk.
Even after the Western Allies declared war on Germany they don t have a sense of
urgency to enter into conflict. They become consumed with what the Soviet Union is
doing in Finland and still remain inactive with battle. In Britain, Chamberlain
resigned as a result of how he handled the Norwegian campaign. His resignation
came on the day German soldiers attacked their French from the west. This will be
Winston Churchill s first day as Britain s Prime
The Inspirational and Positive Responses of Offer Buyback
Offer buyback is advanced by numerous investigates placing a mixture of inspiration
theory and confirmations supporting offer buyback. Studies have recorded the
inspirations and positive responses from capital markets of U.s.a, Europe, japan,
Taiwan, and so forth.
Dann (1981) and Masulis (1980) in their investigations of delicate offers have
proposed and tried individual duty theory to illustrate the increment in firm esteem
going to stock repurchases. Their study uncovered that the company s moguls who
were in a high duty section, favored repurchases as a method for circulation since the
cohorted capital additions are liable to lower charges (especially if deferred).the
publication return reflected an increment in the after assessment worth of the firm
connected with the inferred change in appropriation approach.
Vermaelen (1981) inspected 131 purchase back delicate offers and credited the
positive offer market response to data indicating impact whereby the administration
embraces purchase once more to persuade the shareholders that the shares of the
organization are undervalued. Grullon and Ikenberry et al (1995 and 2000) have
underpinned this contention. Wang Johnson (2005) likewise embraced the thought
that impart buyback is an administration device to pass on data to the business around
a guaranteeing organization future.
Jensen (1986) expressed that organizations repurchase stocks to disseminate
overabundance money stream and there is a positive
Electronic Health Record And Emergency Room
Unconscious Essay
A woman was brought into your Emergency Room unconscious. She was the driver
of a vehicle and was alone in the car. She has no purse or identification with her.
The police were able to identify her by her license plate number. You are unable to
obtain a history of this patient because you know nothing about her. How do you
know what her allergies are or what medications she is currently taking? Thank
goodness you are able to access her Electronic Health Recordand obtain a complete
history. An Electronic Health Record (EHR) is a computerized digital chart as
opposed to a paper chart. This electronic record will contain the patient s allergies,
medications, diagnosis, labs, radiology reports and treatment plans. The Electronic
Health Record impacts the delivery of health care and specifically nursing. This is
because often time s patients are unable to be a good historian of their health
history. Family members are often times not very helpful either. The EHR makes it
possible for all disciplines regardless of location to see what the other disciplines
are doing. There are two different types of Electronic records. The Electronic Health
Record (EHR) and the Electronic Medical Record(EMR).
1.Electronic Health Record
Health information recorded digitally
Sharing of information in real time
Medical information that moves with the patient
Access to important information to be used by providers when making decisions
2.Electronic Medical Record
The Pricing Objective Of The Marketing Strategy
The pricing objective of the marketing strategy is profit centered, meaning the new
services are expected to maximize the company profits. In evaluating the target
audience, gym participants are not found to be price sensitive, generally. Rather, they
are value conscious and tend to place a high emphasis on quality in evaluating the
membership cost. People have various motives in joining a gym including socializing,
recreation, taking shape, losing weight, or health requirements. Because of the
intangible nature of the gym experience and health related matters, people do tend to
be more value conscious than pricesensitive.
Understanding how the customers evaluate the price aids in choosing an appropriate
pricing basis strategically. For the new services, ABC Fitness will take a markup
pricing approach with a predetermined rate of 40%, set by the executives. 24 hour
access. The costs associated with this service include a video surveillance system,
access cards, club fixtures, and promotional programs. Using secondary data (Snap
Fitness, 2014), a rough estimate has been developed and presented in Table 1.
Assuming a 40% markup, the total cost of adding this service comes to a total of
$43,400. The new service is expected to increase the memberships by 25%
annually. Over a window of 5 years, under this assumption, the current membership
size will grow from 200 to 488; an expected 288 sign ups for this add on service
which is equivalent to an average of 58 new

One of the primary difficulties lies in presenting the information in a manner that is not only informative but also captivating for the reader. Striking the right balance between providing essential details on road safety regulations and keeping the essay engaging can be a delicate task. Moreover, ensuring that the essay is not merely a compilation of rules but an insightful exploration of the importance of adhering to these regulations adds an additional layer of complexity. It demands the integration of statistics, real-life examples, and perhaps personal experiences to underscore the gravity of the issue. Addressing the diverse aspects of road safety, including the role of drivers, pedestrians, and policymakers, requires comprehensive research to provide a well-rounded perspective. • 2. Reflection On Shambhala Meditation Reflection on Shambhala Meditation A couple weeks ago, while perusing the web for fun date night ideas, I accidentally stumbled upon the official website for the Asheville Shambhala Center. The website broadcasted the center as a safe space for meditation and literary discussion under the tradition of Shambhala, a spiritual and philosophical school akin but not equivalent to buddhism. Although I certainly couldn t picture dragging my boo to sit silently for four hours on a hardwood floor in honor of our anniversary, the message of basic human goodness included in the center s description intrigued me. I decided to attend one of the Sunday morning meditationsessions in order to further investigate Shambhala ideology. My GPS protested... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, the lady described the importance of the senses in Shambhala meditation by describing them as the five tentacles of goodness with which we reach out to the world . I spent most of the rest of her speech mortified I would burst out laughing. Even in the moment, while I was dying to run to my car and privately cackle about the word tentacle like a ten year old, I recognized how disrespectful my thought process was. I was in the presence of a woman sharing a sacred practice used to connect to the divine, cracking up about a single word poorly suited to the context of the American south. It reminded me of our discussion about Sundiata concerning the sacred and the supernatural. To my horror, the practiceof Shambhala was so foreign to me, after one awkward moment my brain subconsciously filed Shambhala under the strange hybrid of eastern and western practices attempting to appeal to unsatisfied white folks while retaining its exotic appeal category, and discarded the spiritual significance of the practice entirely. After reflecting, I realized that the way I categorized Shambhala was disgustingly riddled with egotistical, American first bias, white people first bias. Since I was not familiar with Shambhala, it was easy for me to categorize the practice as ineffective and wrong, disregarding the deep spiritual significance the practice
  • 3. My Friend Uploaded A Post On Facebook And It Got Me... Recently my friend uploaded a post on Facebook and it got me contemplating. The question was posed by a man named Alan Watts and he asked, What would you like to do if money were no object? This inquiry seems to be wandering the internet a bit because this was roughly the third time that I have regarded it, so I took it as a sign and I paused to direct this question to myself. Of course, there is a multitude of things that I yearn to do. If money wasn t the issue like many of us make it out to be, of course, there would be ample to do. I discern that this question is posed more for what type of work would you do but I was thinking about stuff that I would love to do regardless. The most predominate desire for me is to travel. I love to write and that will always be a constant thing, but I think it would be great to do both. I recognize that many people would have a similar response, yet my strong desire to travel made me consider deeply as to why I had such a tenacious want for it. I believe one of the reasons why that deep down, we still hold on to the ancient survival instinct of migration, which can never really be satisfied. I believe that this could also hold true for me. As I think more about it, I find that it was not really the destinations that I want to go to but the means of the journey that I wish to experience . My husband is the one who made me conscious of this. He likes to travel and see places as well, but just didn t understand the concept of people

  • 6. Cross Gender Communication Essay Cross Gender Communication: And the Problems Associated with It. Women and men are different in many ways. They see the world through completely different perspectives which leads to differences in communication. Women communicate with their partners not only because they want to talk to someone, but they also use conversation as an opportunity to bond intimately with their partner, explore and share thoughts, and express her anxieties. Men on the other hand believe that all conversations should have a clear purpose, he doesn t need or want to hear the small details, he listens passively not patiently, he wants to tackle the problem head on otherwise he loses interest in what the women is trying to convey. Men and women want to keep each other happy but with the differences in both sexes it could be easy to end up in a frustrated state of conflict and resentment if they don t understand each other since the beginning of the relationship. Effective gender communication is essential to every thriving relationship; however, lack of communication and problem resolve could result in relationship conflict and unsatisfied partners if it is not addressed or acknowledged. Relationships start off with two people showing their best behavior, they connect on multiple levels and far too often adjust themselves to fit in the relationship they are in. With time, the connection deepens and the level of fulfillment excels and both partners find themselves compromising considerable things

With this in mind, home buyers find it difficult to invest in a home due to their socioeconomic status, yet they still make a personal choice to do so. The article, Toronto and area house prices, out of reach for most (Montgomery, 2015), addresses the inflation of housing prices but entails a very narrow lens to the identity of the home buyer. Symbolic interactionism would analyze this issue from a micro level perspective. The theory emphasizes the importance of an individual s subjective meanings and how these interpretations help create their own social state of affairs (Brym R, 2013). Looking at the article from a symbolic interactionist perspective, it can be noted Montgomery fails to explain the house is in itself a reflection of the homeowner s individuality and desire to impress upon the public eye. Erving Goffman would rationalize the house as a mode of presenting the homeowner in the best possible light, this is known as dramaturgical analysis (Brym R, 2013). There are over 200 different species of owls and they have all evolved differently but they share some common characteristics. Some environmental adaptations that owls have are silent flight, keen eyesight, and the ability to hunt. Owls have silent flight which helps them catch prey. They also fly without much effort, because their wings are large compared with the size of their bodies. With large wings and a light body one can see an owl fly past but they will most likely not hear them. • 11. Persuasive Essay For Vaccination In the last century, vaccinations have become the single most leading achievement in public health because these vaccines have saved millions of lives as well as prevented illness and lifelong disability. These childhood diseases that once resulted in hospitalization, death or lifelong consequences only a few decades ago have now become preventable. If we do not vaccinate against diseases such as RV, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Measles, Mumps, and Rubella there could be serious outbreaks. It is my belief that as parents, the goal is to give children a healthy start in life and one of the most important decisions that can be made is to get your child vaccinated, especially since there are no effective alternatives to immunization. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once America s most feared diseases and causing death and paralysis across the country, thanks to vaccination, there are no reports of polio in the United States. There are so many people that are unable to receive vaccinations because they are too young to be vaccinated, have medical contraindications to vaccines, or have vaccine failure that it is so important to have your child vaccinated and adhere to the recommended immunization schedule suggested by the CDC. These vaccines will not harm your child and are only given to children after a long and careful review by scientists, doctors, and healthcare professionals. The only side effect that a child may experience from the vaccine is some minor discomfort as well as some pain, redness, or tenderness at the site of the injection. This is a minor price to pay as compared to the possible pain, discomfort and trauma of the diseases that can be prevented. There may be serious side effects following the vaccination, such as a severe allergic reaction. The chances of an allergic reaction are very rare. The disease prevention benefits of getting vaccines are much greater than the possible side effects for almost all children. If an unvaccinated child is exposed to one of these potentially deadly illnesses, such as measles, the child s body may not be strong enough to fight against the disease and they will contract the illness. Before vaccines were established, many children died from diseases such as whooping cough,

Of these, I have chosen to incorporate ideas from myself, McAdams, Freud, Jung, Adler, and Horney. The personalities are Neuroticism, Openness to Experience and Imagination, Psychoticism, Passive Aggressive Dependency, Histrionicism, Introversion, and Extraversion. These personality types make up the world, and I believe that any single person can actually have several different personalities. These needs include The Neurotic need for affection and approval which Charlie Brown clearly shows in his worry about how others view him (Hall, Lindzey, Campbell, 1998) ; The Neurotic ambition for personal achievement which is displayed in his over analysis of everything to try and always improve himself for personal achievement(Hall, Lindzey, Campbell, 1998) ; And The Neurotic need for perfection and unassailability which is again shown in his worry over his inadequacies (Hall, Lindzey, Campbell, 1998) . These negative feelings and thoughts toward everyday life lead me to believe that Charlie Brown is a near perfect personification of neuroticism. Openness to Experience and Imagination In the Peanuts comic, Linus is known as Charlie Brown s best friend and he carries around a blanket most of the time. This security blanket helps Linus be open to experiences and imagination. McAdams describes openness to experience as a cluster of characteristics having to do with how reflective, imaginative, artistic, and refined a person is (McAdams, 2009). Linus is one of the most thoughtful, intelligent and inviting of the characters in Peanuts. He listens to others while thoughtfully thinking about what is said, and he keeps his mind wide open to the possibility that he will see things that others may not. For example, Linus is the only

  • 23. The Internal Topology Of The Park Bench Topology: Internal Topology: The internal topology within this performance relies heavily on the fact that the stage is rounded and there is a single park bench (split in half and facing opposite ways) in the centre of it. The cyclical view of life is not only symbolically represented through the stage to the audience but also by the nature of the stage in regards to the actors. The two characters as at the opposite end of a shared cycle is also represented through the utilisation and manipulation of the park bench. Marion s book is able to represent the shift that is to occur as Marion exits the cycle of her life and the Girl is to enter. Thus, the internal topology as per the spacing of elements on the stage is instrumental in portraying the intended meaning for the greatest audience impact. One of the greatest challenges regarding the internal topology of this play is the notion of having an eighty year old woman meet a sixteen year old version of herself as the preconceived notion of space and time shifts. This is dealt with across the technical disciplines through the unity in developing their individual roles and the contrasting display of their relationship. The notion of such meeting can be perceived as quite strange to an audience when presented as reality however it is through the manipulation of their roles and their relationship, achieved by the various technical disciplines, that such occurrence is able to be achieved. The artists in question being Michael Jackson, Kanye West, and none other than William Shakespeare. Upon first reading the article, I could see the similarities between Michael Jackson and Kanye West, as both were black artists who were able to break through into the mainstream musicindustry despite institutional limitations. However, I initially believed that their relation to Shakespeare was quite a stretch, but after reading further realized that Shakespeare had many similar hurdles to overcome as Jackson and West, just perhaps in different forms. Jackson, West, and Shakespeare all had to overcome a multitude of obstacles in their own careers in order for their talents to be recognized by the mainstream. For instance, both Michael Jackson and Kanye West brought new sounds to their respective genres. Jackson brought rock aspects and soul aspects into the pop industry, and was one of the trailblazers when it came to technological music. West integrated orchestral music and gospel choirs into a few of his albums ( Kanye West, 2017). On top of that, both Jackson and West had sizable impacts on industries outside of their main one, particularly the fashion industry. Michael Jackson s impact came from the clothes that he wore in his short films and his live performances, iconic outfits such as the Beat It Jacket, and the suit that he wore in Smooth Criminal. Kanye West actually held a stake in the fashion industry, partnering with companies such as Nike early on and eventually launching his own apparel

Profit motive is the driving force behind all business activities of a company. It is the primary measure of success or failure of a firm in the market. Profit earning capacity indicates the position, performance and status of a firm in the market. In spite of several changes and development of several alternative objectives, profit maximization has remained as one of the single most important objectives of the firm even today. Rational behavior on the part of the firm to achieve its goal of profit maximization. 3. The firm is managed by owner entrepreneur. Determination of profit maximizing price and output Profit maximization of a firm can be explained in two different ways. В· Total Revenue and Total Cost approach. В· Marginal Revenue and Marginal Cost approach. Profits of a firm are estimated by making comparison between total revenue and total costs. Profit is the difference between TR and TC. In other words, excess of revenue over costs is the profits. Profit = TR TC. If TR is equal to TC in that case, there will be break even point. If TR is less than TC, in that case, a firm will be incurring losses. In this case, we take in to account of total cost and total revenue of the firm while measuring profits. It is clear from the following diagram how profit arises when TR is greater than that of TC. 2. MR and MC approach In this case, we take in to account of revenue earned from one unit and cost incurred to produce only one unit of output. A firm will be maximizing its profits when MR= MC and MC curve cuts MR curve from below. If MC curve cuts MR curve from above either under perfect market or under imperfect market, no doubt MR equals MC but total output will not be maximized and hence total profits also will not be maximized. Hence, two conditions are

Those two were always enjoyable, sometimes confusing, and very entertaining. Ziggy was a Teacup Poodle and Mugzy was a Pekingese. To begin with it would be impossible not to notice their physical differences. Mugzy was longer in length with short legs, a flat face and a tongue that always hung out. Ziggy was small but everything was proportionate, he had a longer snout with white sharp teeth. Mugzy s fur was a dark tan, while Ziggy s fur was bright white. Ziggy s hair was stiff and curly, but Mugzy s was long, soft, and fluffy. My dad hated, I mean hated with a passion, Mugzy s hair. Mostly because he shed everywhere. My dad was allergic as well so that made his hate even stronger. Ziggy s hair on the other hand rarely needed any brushing because he didn t shed and other than an occasional trim, it stayed short. One late summer my dad had finally had enough of Mugzy s hair and shaved him from neck to base of his tail. Imagine a lions mane and tail. The poor thing looked so sad to have all his hair gone. But I think even he felt better. It had been a very warm summer. Another difference that was not hard to miss

It was common belief that by completing a seventy day process known as mummification, the Ka, this spiritual entity, would be able to live on long after the person died. Because of this, many people of the culture lived modest lives on Earth, saving immense amounts of money and gold for intricate objects that could serve practical and decorative purposes for their tombs. Every step of the preparations was handled with meticulous care as it was believed that life on Earth was limited, while life in the afterlife was eternal. This cultural ideology of eternal life after deathis emulated by the statuary of the Egyptian world especially by the granite pair statueof Nefu and Khemet setju from Giza, which was found in 1931 on the Harvard University Museum of Fine Arts Expedition. • 46. College Education In the United States, most Americans are fortunate to be able to obtain a high school education. After high school, many of these students go on to pursue a college degree. In places such as my hometown, going to college is the norm, not the exception. However, this education comes at a cost. Some people would argue that the outcomes of collegeare worth the expense, while others would say that in today s day and age college is a waste of time and money. Many higher education enthusiasts would argue that college is economically worth the financial investment. Their study on critical thinking found that the typical college student experiences a significant increase in their ability to think critically from the time they are freshman until the time they graduate. Another finding in Huber and Kuncel s work was that even though critical thinking skills are greater for college graduates than those who chose not to attend college, this difference of critical thinking ability has declined in recent years. However, this is not to say that they believe that colleges are no longer adequately teaching students to think critically. Instead, they explain that the level of critical thinking skills developed in college has begun to decrease because students are entering college with more critical thinking skills in the first place. In other words, it is not that students are no longer achieving the same standard, it is that the students are not achieving the same level of growth because they had more critical thinking skills to begin with. Others contend that pursuing a Bachelor s degree actually puts young adults at an economic disadvantage. Joe Weisenthal (2012) reported that from 2000 2010 the average cost of tuition and fees for a public, four year college increased by 72%. Not only are the costs of college increasing at incredible rates, but earnings for graduates with a Bachelor s degree actually decreased over
