Public Relation And The Impact Of New Media
Public relation and The Impact of New Media
Advertising is a crucial piece of any business since it is the most direct correspondence between the
firm and the general population. For a business to appreciate long haul achievement, it needs to be
able to advance and adjust with the always showing signs of change patterns of people in general
keeping in mind the end goal to comprehend the requirements and worries of the overall population.
Creator and business person Deirdre K. Breakenridge (2008) states in her book PR 2.0 New Media,

degree knowledgeable about the business sectors their brands attempt to achieve. The twentieth

Colonialism And Christianism
The role colonialism has played in the involvement of Christianity practice in East Africa, is because
of the impact of outside sources have determined the historical instabilities of the practice of
Christianity and its branches. The expansion per year would result in the requirement to provide four
times the amount of personnel, finance, church building, provision for Christian education, etc ,
although this all depends on the susceptibility of the Europeans and their economic, political and
social influences. In Mahenge, Tanzania, there was scarcity in the ratio of priests (including high), to
the congregation, compelling the administration of the Church (Green 1995: 34). The 1900 s were
when a large amount of missionaries were associated with colonial authorities, and this lead many to
have the assumption of missionaries and the administrators having little to no difference (Gray 1982:
60). The African missionaries run by Europeans, had an intimate dependence on the support of secular
rulers (Green 1982: 65). Communication within the sub Saharan were in no sphere more significant
than in the revolutionary changes that were taking place , and the independence addressed the
missions, state, and also albeit for their own benefit (Green 1982: 66). The communication sphere for
missionaries was generating innovations of critical importance for Africans (Green 1982: 66).

Creative Concepts Of Creative Products
Creative products are goods or services produced and sold by creative industries. Creative industries
are defined as having their origin in individual creativity, skill and talent. They typically develop
products offered in the entertainment sector such as music, theatre, opera, film, art, broadcasting, etc.
Universally seen as a unique type of product, they produce symbolic goods in the form of experiences,
ideas or images. Because their products take the form of an experience or service, they are classified
as intangible. Intangible goods are products that have no physical nature meaning a person cannot
hold, touch, smell or otherwise handle it. Creative products are also seen as ephemeral, meaning they
only last for a certain period of time. Their value derives from the artistic and human talents
incorporated in it at the different stages of creation, production, reproduction and distribution. (CITE)
In many ways, these creative products are often seen as more difficult to analyse, manage or sell
compared to other commodity goods or services.
Figuring out why these products are often seen as more difficult means understanding how these
particular products are managed compared to their counterpart. Most notably, there is not just one
product being produced and sold. When it comes to creative goods, the whole product is composed of
several different types. From the seller s point, there is the formal product which is the actual artistic
performance itself that is being

Potsdam Student Organizational Fair Report
The Student Organizational Fair at SUNY Potsdam is essentially where a=organization clubs at

decided to check out the student organizational fair to see if there was any clubs that I would be
interested in. I didn t expect too much out of it in all honesty but I m glad that I checked it out. There
is one club in particular that I will definitely join and I wouldn t have known about it if it wasn t for

Essay Eleanor Roosevelt
ELEANOR ROOSEVELT:
A LIFE OF LEADERSHIP Introduction The legacy of Eleanor Roosevelt is essentially contested. To
many, her role as First Lady, delegate to the UN, Democratic Party member, humanitarian and social
activist immortalized her as the conscience of the nation . However critics deriding her as a gadfly and
an unfit woman cite many flaws in her leadership capacity. Roosevelt was never elected to office. She
was reluctant to assume the responsibilities of being the First Lady. Unlike Lincoln or King no single
‘great speech defined her vision, passion or ideology. In effect, the success of Roosevelt is merely the
result of a privileged background and simply being ‘in the right place, at the right time . This ... Show

It is easy to presume that that person is in the position they are in because of money, connections or an
extraordinary intellect. We may suppose that any adversity or problems that this type of person has
encountered are on another level to those that we face. Perhaps we don t imagine that there were
private obstacles to overcome, personality traits that needed adjustment or adaptation, that private
insecurities or personal failings had to be surmounted. It is simplest to assume that the role of
leadership was cut out for him/her alone. More often than not, one imagines that the leader in an
individual emerges early on in life, apparent from an early age: a bright child with above average
intelligence, active in all walks of life, successful in anything that he puts his/her hand to, popular with
peers and admired by elders. But nothing is that simple. Take Eleanor Roosevelt: Eleanor Roosevelt
was born into a rich elitist family. Her life was blessed with plenty, and she was brought up on a diet
of French maids, German maids and governesses. Her wealthy extended family assured her the
privilege of lavish living arrangements, she was brought on frequent visits to the theater, she had
libraries of books at her disposal and was given the chance to travel the world. The circumstances of

The Inside A Long Corridor
I stared in wonder, inside was a long corridor, lit by a glowing light, to the left were weapon racks and
to the right was an alchemy lab. Beyond that to the left was an underground bathing pool with 5 built
in seats, continually refilled by water streaming in from above. Opposite this were a full set of forging,
smelting and weapon crafting gear, beyond that was an alchemy table and a set of empty book shelves.
I was in love with the place already and determined it would be my home. Opening a locked door at
the end of the hall revealed a bed in the middle of the room, several chests and to one side a kitchen
area and the other were wardrobes. Behind the bed was further water falling gently from the ceiling

The fact my legs were held at right angle meant it was unlikely I would be moved out of position. I
uncapped one of the bottles of monster residue and briefly inhaled before sealing the jar. Within
seconds my pussy was moist and lubricated enough that I could start the machine, a few drops fell into
the bucket below. With that I unlocked the brake, within seconds the shaft moved against my crotch,
licking at my sensitive lips a dozen times every second. Animalistic moans echoed from me as I was
overwhelmed by ecstasy. As I moaned in bliss, my shapely breasts danced to the rhythm of the
machine, my navel clenched and relaxed in the throes of each climax. I felt flushed and was
perspiring, I slipped my hands into the loops and crested heavenly wave after heavenly wave while
thinking will I be able to bring myself to stop the machine? Or will I just be pleasured until I am too
weak to move? My voluptuous figure squirming helplessly driven by the unquenchable fire in my
loins, my moans sounded incredibly loud to my ears but couldn t be heard over the sounds of falling
water. As I lay there floating, I mused it should be easier to recruit other suppliers if the business really
takes off. But the mead we are making will take at least a month to ferment, so for now I can probably

Irving Berlin Contributions
Irving Berlin made important contributions to musicals and music writing. After his background
information is provided, the prior sentence will be proven by using examples of the songs he made as
a freelance songwriter, a songwriter for Broadway musical productions , and Hollywood Musical
productions, the popularity of the songs, and the awards.
Israel Berlin who we now know as Irving Berlin, was born May 11th, Eighteen 1888, in the town of
Tyumen, a Siberian city in Russia. He was the one out of eight children. His father, Moses Baline, was
a Cantor in the Jewish Synagogue, and his mother was Lena Lipkin Baline During the time he lived in
Russia, he and his family were treated terribly, for the fact that Russia was at that time attacking the
Jews and the Jewish community. The only thing he remembered about Russia was when an Anti
Semitic group burned down his house, and he sat in front of his house all night watching it burn. In
circa 1883 his family moved to Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States of America via
Ellis Island. Everyone in his family regardless of age, except for practical reasons such as an infant,
had to work. Although his family was very poor, he did not seem to notice. His father was a very strict
Jew and would punish his children with beatings even for as simple of a reason as taking their shoes
off in an unorthodox way. He worked odd jobs until he was eight years of age, when his father died,

The Between Inductivist And Popper s Points Of View Of...
The following essay aims to discuss the inconsistencies between the inductivist and Popper s points of
view of science rationality of science in light of claims that the scientific method is inductive yet an
inductive method is no. I think is rational to say that inductivist view of science has significant
contradiction that Popper s view solves. To support Popper s view my argument will introduce the
inductivist and falsificationsist views and I will focus in showing the issues of considered science as
objective, scientific knowledge as proven and nature as uniform as well as the differences between
inductivism and falsificationism to the creation of hypothesis.
The main view of the statement seeing scientific knowledge as proof relays in the assumption that
scientific reasoning is inductive. Therefore, as first point I will introduce the main statement of
inductivism. The principle of induction states scientific method relays in the objective observation as
the basis for the foundation of laws and theories without the influence of subjectivisms such as
opinions and beliefs, for this uses the observation of particular statements to the creation of general
statements. Furthermore, inductivism assumes that nature will always be uniform, thus infers from
past patterns to the creation of hypothesis and laws. Finally, inductivism sees scientific knowledge as
proven knowledge.
Secondly I will introduce the Popper s view known as falsificationism and its inconsistencies with

Booker T. Washington ( 1856-1915 )
Booker T. Washington (1856 1915) was a standout amongst the most persuasive (and questionable)
African Americans ever. Brought up the child of a slave mother, Washington was self propelled and
focused on his own training from a youthful age. The tumultuous time in America s history amid
which he lived managed him new opportunities that originated from Abraham Lincoln s Emancipation
Proclamation of 1863 and the inevitable achievement of the North in the Civil War. He took the first
chance to go to a formal school, Hampton Institute, which prompted residency and the establishing of
a standout amongst the most prestigious African American instructive organizations of the nineteenth
century, Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. Washington was seen as pleasing the norm of African
American subordination on the grounds that the message of his works and addresses was that the
street to accomplishment for blacks was through attaining to monetary dependability through training
(primarily, professional preparing); he didn t dissent, did not challenge the political framework, did
not talk about the absence of social fairness like his commentators, Frederick Douglass and W.E.B. Du
Bois. Washington decided to focus on what blacks could fulfill by concentrating on learning
mechanical abilities; he accepted this would help his race secure financial confidence. Washington felt
the aggressor talk of Douglass and Du Bois redirected his kin from the way to success through
monetary achievement. It

Bilingual Education And Multiculturalism
First, it is important to identify two main types of bilingual education; transitional and maintenance.
Transitional means the primary focus is on learning the dominant language, while drifting apart from
the minority language. On the other hand, maintenance deals with maintaining and developing the L1
while also trying to learn the dominant language (Hidden Curriculum, 2014). The main focus of
maintenance is to help the child maintain their cultural identity while also trying to help them learn the
minority language while living in a society that is prevalent in that specific language (Hidden
Curriculum, 2014). Now that we have had the chance to talk about bilingual education and talk about
two important aspects of bilingual education ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This case led to the next crucial case in 1982, which was the Plyer v. Doe. The Supreme Court ruled
that undocumented children cannot be denied access to education solely on the basis of their
immigration status (Noel, 2008). The U. S. Supreme Court felt as though children who were not able
to receive education and who were denied the right to education would be drastically harmed
throughout their lifetime which is why this case was passed. Many of these undocumented citizens
came from Mexico, primarily from Texas and California. The two cases set the stage for immigration
into the United States. Prior to these two cases, many people were turned away because they knew
little to know English and were seen useless in the United States. This goes against multiculturalism
because these minority groups were not treated with the same respect and were viewed as inferior to
the dominant culture which was English. Now that we have some background history on the
immigration and refugee status it is important to talk about the political trends against bilingual
education and multiculturalism that exist today. The first topic that will be introduced is the DREAM
Act (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act). The Dream Act allows current,
former and future undocumented high school graduates and GED recipients a three step pathway to
US citizenship through college, work or the armed forces (The Dream Act, n.d.). One important aspect

Analysis Of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Frankenstein thinks that everything is alright now, but Elizabeth has a premonition that the monster
will return, and she warns her fiancé that she fears some harm is going to befall him. At the same time,
during the entire village s celebration, the father of the dead girl carries her lifeless body though the
streets for all to see. The shock crowd stops its celebration, stunned and outraged over the death of
Maria, and they demand justice from The Burgomaster (mayor) and local police. By nightfall, the
angry mob has organized into torch carrying search parties to find the murderer. Frankenstein is
determined to destroy the creature, and leads one of several groups looking for the monster, up the

Within two years she had published the novel Frankenstein: or, The Modern Prometheus (1818).
Shelley came from well to do family, highly educated, and liberal background. She was married to
poet and philosopher Percy Shelley, and during a bleak summer of 1816, the couple famously spent a
summer with Lord Byron, John William Polidori, and Claire Clairmont near Geneva, Switzerland
(Wikipedia). Because the weather was rather confining, they remained inside, and decided to tell each
other ghost stories to pass the time away. What manifested that faithful night became two legendry
tales of horror and science gone wrong, as mentioned in Guy Haley s book Sci Fi Chronicles, Polidori
produced a short story, The Vampyre, which was more influential initially and provided the impetus
for the creation of the modern vampire myth, but it was the 19 year old Mary who produced a novel
that would come to be regarded as the first work of science fiction (Haley 19).
Mary Shelley often wrote her books on biographical, historical, romantic, and gothic themes. Another
noteworthy book by Shelley is a science fiction apocalyptic novel The Last Man published in 1826.
The book tells of a future world that has been ravaged by a plague. The novel was harshly reviewed at

Richard Kuklinski Essay
Richard Kuklinski When a man is a product of his environment and the environment is filled with
violence and hatred, the possibilities are horrifying. Richard kuklinski is a prime example of just that.
His childhood was something no human, let alone a child should go through. His anger built up and
his life eventually was overcome by it. He then progressed to a cold blooded killer, starting small, and
then ending with the mob until his capture.
Richard Kuklinski was born on April 11, 1935, to poor Polish parents, Anna and Stanley Kuklinski, in
the projects of New Jersey. (Montaldo) Richard had two siblings; Florian, who died of injuries caused
by abuse from his father and Joseph, who was convicted of raping and murdering a twelve ... Show

DeMeo was sent to talk to Kuklinski and beat him with a pistol. Although Kuklinski was carrying a
pistol himself, he decided not to use it, earning him DeMeo s respect. After paying back the money he
owed, Kuklinski began carrying out varied tasks for DeMeo and the Gambino family. One day DeMeo
took Richard out to his car and parked on a city street. DeMeo then selected a random target and
ordered Kuklinski to kill him. Without hesitating, Kuklinski got out, walked towards the man, and shot
him in the back of the head as he passed by. From then on, Kuklinski was DeMeo s favorite enforcer.
Over the next thirty years Kuklinski killed numerous people. The police force wasn t expecting all
these murders to be from one man because he used so many different methods of murder. These
include guns, knives, explosives, tire irons, fire, poison, asphyxiation, and even bare handed beatings.
He favored the use of cyanide since it killed quickly and was hard to detect in a toxicology test. He
would variously administer it by injection, putting it on a person s food, by aerosol spray, or by simply
spilling it on the victim s skin. One of his favorite methods of disposing of a body was to place it in an
oil drum. His other disposal methods included dismemberment, burial, or placing the body in the trunk
of a car and having it crushed in a junkyard. (Blanco). Kuklinski earned the nickname Iceman after he
disguised the time of death of his victims by freezing them in

Hip Hop And Rap Music
Swiss Hip Hop and Rap According to Michael Dyson and Wikipedia, Hip hop music and Hip Hop
culture formed during the 1970s when block parties became increasingly popular in New York City.
The genre became home to and was developed by African American youth residing in the Bronx.
Block parties involved DJs playing very percussive breaks of popular songs Then Rapping developed
as the primary vocal style of the genre. Hip hop s early evolution occurred as sampling technology and
drum machines became widely available and affordable. This can be seen as a technoscape. Hip Hop
and Rap music became an important voice of poor inner city youth. They were often the victims of
systematic abuse and stuck in continuous poverty. Hip Hop was referred to as black music with
serious influences from funk and soul.
The first hip hop record is widely regarded to be The Sugarhill Gang s Rapper s Delight , in 1979. As
the 1980s came about, the genre grew more complex. In addition hip hop during the 1980s began to
spread and became a part of the music scene in dozens of other countries. Today Hip Hop is no
underground music in the United States anymore. Hip Hop has become a cultural phenomena enjoyed
and heard by millions of people. While American Hip Hop reaches millions worldwide, other places
have seen their own Hip Hop scene come about. In September 1996 the European Music Office
published its report on Music in Europe .

Psychopathy And The Physiological Etiology Of Psychopathy
Psychopathy is a topic that receives more than its fair share of attention in the media. The very
concept of psychopathy simultaneously fascinates and terrifies people as they attempt to understand
the motivation of people who they deem to be very different than themselves. However, people rarely
stop to consider the physiological differences in individuals with psychopathy, focusing instead on
outward displays of sensational aggression. In order to assess the physiological components of
psychopathy, it is necessary to consider theories on the physiological etiology of psychopathy, the

Much like the University of Pennsylvania study, results indicated that reduced functioning in parts of
the brain involved in moral decision making and the expression of emotion may help to explain
psychopathy (Glenn et al, 2009; Marsh et al., 2011). Another theory of the physiological etiology of
psychopathy focuses on the role of serotonergic functionality. As serotonin functions to maintain
mood balance, deficits in the functionality of serotonin have the potential to be hugely detrimental. A
study published in Motivation and Emotion analyzed the role of serotonin in high levels of aggression,
a key component of the expression of psychopathy. Researchers also proposed a connection between
high levels of testosterone and low levels serotonin working together to increase both aggression and
impulsivity (Montoya et al., 2012). These findings complement those in a study conducted by
researchers at Radboud University, which consisted of a between groups comparison between
psychopathy and sociopathy in terms of dysfunction in emotional processing, HPA axis functioning,
and serotonergic profiles, as well as polymorphisms in serotonergic genes and behavioral
endophenotypes (Yildirim Derksen, 2013). Yildirim and Derksen found that issues

majority answered Target to has the higher probability of running out of stocks.
Third was the Products. Wal Mart sells what the people need at an affordable price which brings in
more customers. It sells various name brand items in toys, hygiene, food, electronics and clothing,
with every product from every brand varying in design and specifications. Target focuses on home
products and apparel. Although, Wal Mart pretty much contains everything that Target retailers have
but they have them at better price and availability, Target does seem to have better quality items at a
slightly higher cost. Going back to my survey most of my participants agreed that Wal Mart s price is
definitely lower than Targets. The majority chose Wal Mart as having more brands under one roof,
bigger portfolio of products, more range in sizes and colors in clothing, again more stocks and the
most likely store to visit if they have no specific shopping list, just wanting a general shopping
experience.
Fourth was Advertising. And in a more general theme I was studying the perception of customers

There are about 19 million new cases of Sexually Transmitted Infections in the United States each

Dr. Simona Scumpia (2006) warns. The disease is more common than diabetes or heart disease.
Thyroid conditions can lead a person to develop other health problems, such as heart disease, high
cholesterol, osteoporosis, and depression. Dr. Simona Scumpia, Medical Director of the Austin
Thyroid and Endocrinology Center, explains: Because the symptoms of thyroidism can be associated
with commonly occurring conditions, it is extremely important that people who have the symptoms be
checked with a test known as a TSH test. The TSH test, or Thyroid Stimulating Hormone test, is a
simple blood test that measures the thyroid gland s condition. My mother, Connie L. Gullion, suffers
from Hashimoto s syndrome. Connie was diagnosed with the disease in her mid 30 s. Connie s doctor
had her look at a list of symptoms and asked her to let him know which ones she was experiencing.
Connie checked ¾ of the list handed to her; increased sensitivity to cold, constipation, puffy face, high

The Great Powers Of The United States
After the U.N charter was signed in June of 1945, the world became divided into two distinct
categories in which all nation states belonged. The great powers, economically and militarily
dominant, were the victors of WWII: U.S, Great Britain, Russia, France and China. The rest of the
world fell into the category of small power, with little influence in shaping the international system.
As Germany and Japan recovered from their devastating defeats in the Second World War, they fought
their way back into the classification of great powers. Although this North South relationship was well
known rhetoric on the subject dates back to the turn of the century the rise of so called middle powers
has reshaped the power structure of the entire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The newly gained economic and military strength in their respective regions is substantial enough to
sway the North s thought process, when constructing an effective foreign policy strategy. As China s
influence grows, the United States is fraught to come up with an effective counter response without
debilitating economic repercussion from the Chinese government. Many analysts believe that an
alliance between Washington and Beijing is the only sensible option, however, Indonesia s emergence
as a key actor on the South China Sea issue, shows that so called middle powers , like Mexico or
Australia, that aren t permanent members of the United Nations Security Council or global giants like
Japan, India and Germany, can play a vast role in outlining the proper response. Through proactive
and impartial diplomacy, middle powers Indonesia, South Korea and Philippines may be able to
contain the rise of China in ways that the United States or Japan cannot.
Pursuing a middle power option on conflicts like the South China Sea and Syria would mean allowing
friendly countries to take the lead in diplomatic work, because they are less threatening to other great
powers. While this may entail some compromises, it is more likely to generate solutions that a
regional power will heed . This rising diplomatic dependency on middle powers is precisely what will
enables these countries to emerge as

of solitude by Gabriel Garcia. Many patterns seen across all three of these books are magical
elements, symbolism, and metaphors. Like water for chocolate and 100 years of solitude both revolve
around the theme of tradition and maintaining culture. The novel Green Angel emphasizes the theme
of isolation. Magical realism portrays magical elements while being able able to blend into a real

The Solar And Integrated Photovoltaic Panels That Generate...
One of the most innovative and interesting ideas in renewable energy to hit the streets in recent years,
happens to actually be the streets! I m talking about roadways with integrated photovoltaic panels that
generate electricity! The basic concept of this technology is actually quite interesting. With over 2.5
million miles of paved roadway throughout the United States alone, even covering a fraction of those
roadway surfaces with solar panels could generate enormous amounts of clean energy. There are
currently two different approaches to the solar panel roadway concept, both of which are currently in
the Research and Development stages with prototypes already deployed. First, a company aptly named
Solar Roadways here in the United States, founded by Scott Brusaw, a US Marine Veteran turned
Electrical Engineer and his wife. Their concept replaces traditional paved roads with 4 square foot
hexagonal arrays. Each interlocking panel is individually replaceable, removing just four retaining
bolts and a single electrical/data connection. The Solar Roadways design requires a sophisticated sub
surface road bed with steel support columns and poured concrete with one side designated to channel
water runoff and provide drainage. The other side, large enough to support underground
telecommunication lines, electric power lines, DC AC converters, roadway panel wiring and still
allow for a man to fit inside to perform required servicing. These panels incorporate photovoltaic
cells, a

To become an elite athlete, you must train like one. Elite athletes win, and to win an athlete must be
motivated, concentrated, and focused, as well as mentally health. The sports market in North America

writer for Forbes website. To be part of this billion dollar industry it is not just how you physically
talented you are but mentally as well. Psychology is becoming more prominent in the world of sports

Society and the Media Build up of Celebrities to Tear Them...
Much of today s society seems obsessed on what actors/actress, athletes, and music artist are wearing,
eating, who they are marrying, dating, where they are vacationing, what affairs they are having or
have had, and how they live their everyday lives. What s so interesting about this obsession is as a
society we build them up only to tear them down. Media outlets are swift to report when celebrities
are in trouble; accomplishments are hardly reported unless they have passed away or an awards show
is being telecast. It s as if we want them to be perfect but once they are associated with a scandal we
begin to destroy their reputation, character, only to overlook their accomplishment, if any. Should
society hold them to higher standards just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of us would say No , but the majority of us would leap on the prospect of living the life of a
celebrity. Who doesn t want the perks of vacationing all over the world, having someone wait on you
hand and foot, receiving freebies from designers and all the other perks that come with being a
celebrity? The question is do we want the downfalls that come with fame? Can we handle vicious
tabloid scrutiny, fabrications, and assumptions? Being a celebrity has its perks, but at what cost? Fame
and money can be the root of all evil. Never the less, we are contributing to the madness when we
purchase tabloid magazines, watch entertainment shows that follow celebrity activities and judge them
for their actions.
How do we as a society play a part in the demise of an actor, athletes, and musical artist? We alienate
them when they are a part of any scandal or scandals, companies drop them from their products,
magazines, tabloids, and media outlets discuss the scandal non stop, flooding us with the story non
stop. Whoever is a part of the scandal is often given meaningless interviews or book and movie deals.
Any and everything the celebrity has done in the past, as well as the party of the alleged scandal is
dredged up. This is often called skeletons in the closet . What they don t want out is often exposed and
even if it s not true or a matter of privacy, we don t care, all we want is the juicy info.

On Truth And Lies In A Marginal Sense Analysis
Over 140 years ago, you published a work called On Truth and Lies in a Nonmoral Sense. In this
essay, you detailed how words should not be taken at face value, because words are just metaphors for
something more. You may be aware that in the current political climate, the phenomenon of fake news
has arisen. Many websites, newspapers and apps publish articles containing fraudulent information
with the goal of deceiving readers or causing a spectacle. The idea in your essay that deception is
necessary (because it is everywhere) is beginning to be echoed by a large part of the media.
Furthermore, in your work you articulate how words represent something bigger and that they mean
something different to every person and are a subjective matter. ... Show more content on

Also in that way, all news is fake news because it is subjective and there is no real way to verify the
true truth. This creates a cyclone of misinformation and misinterpretation that is currently engulfing
the internet. Often, the premise of fake news deters people from frequenting certain sites and make
them more careful about how they get their news. In the 21st century, people are keenly aware of the
information they take in, so far so that often pick and choose what knowledge they chose to believe.
Likewise, as explained in On Truth and Lies in a Nonmoral Sense, as people gain more knowledge
they feel like they have a superiority to others, and focus on acquiring knowledge far more than
anything else in the world. I have noticed that currently people are so invested in becoming more
intellectual that they often lead themselves down the wrong paths, towards isolation and loneliness.

Why Is Fortunato Wrong

not plant to let Fortunato get away with what Montresor believes is wrong doing. Montressor
discusses throughout the story of how Fortunato has wronged him by speaking ill of him in some way,
but it is never expressly revealed to the reader what it was that Fortunato actually said. Poe chooses to
not reveal what the actual insult was to help convey an unsure feeling in the reader. Without
knowledge of the insult, the reader is unware if Montressor is over reacting and exhibiting qualities of
an insane person or if his actions are justified. Poe leaving this information helps to allude to the big
mystery of the story. The reader is never going

Memory And Erasure On Willamette s Campus Analysis
Inscribed in the very study of history is memory. Orienting our every action in this realm, whether
consciously or subconsciously, it is our memory that each human clings to. As humans establish
groups, groups form collectives, and collectives constitute institutions, memories are legitimated,
solidified, or erased entirely. While reading an individual memoir often reveals the depth of human
sentimentality, studying collective memory often illuminates the fundamental relationship between
powerful institutions and the knowledge it immortalizes or obfuscates. Examining sites of memory
and erasure on Willamette s Campus, the LARC grant proposed by Professor Eisenberg, provides an
excellent opportunity to form a case study of this relationship.

Physics of Ice Skating
Many everyday activities, and sports involve physics. During the Olympics, you saw the graceful
performance done by the figure skaters. Figure skating involves a lot of physics. These principles
include friction, momentum, and Newton s Third Law. These core principles plays a big impact on the
performance of figure skaters. Before understanding the physics of the ice skater s motion, the first
thing to comprehend is the skates itself.
The major parts of figure skates are the boot itself, and the blade. A figure skater performs a spin by
rotating the blade backwards as the skater spins on a fixed point. This fixed point, is also known as the
balls of their feet. The skater also has the toe pick, a rigid part of the blade located at the front of the
blade, touching the ice. This allows the skater to put a forward pressure down without sliding forward
and falling backwards. It also helps keep the skater s balance. When the skater performs a jump, he or
she pushes off the toe pick, jumps, lands on the toe pick, and then rocks down to the blade. This also
adds stability. The design of the blade allows the skater to rock down to the blade from the toe pick
due to the curvature of the blade. This is called the rocker. The skater imparts the momentum from its
opposite leg, back into his lower foot and then continues to move. This leads to the movement of the
figure skater and the laws and principles of physics used to perform them.
Figure skating involves ice, which means there

Introduction
Here is a small tutorial that suffices you with the basic concepts required to put up eyes on your robot.
Trust me, if you are into robotics, you are going to enjoy the next few pages. After all, making a robot
that can see would really be cool! So let s get started!
A vision based robot has an image acquisition device like a webcam as its eyes. Then we need a
processor that can make sense out of those captured images and actuators like dc motors for
navigation. One key point to note is that Image Processing has huge computational requirements, and
it is not possible to run an image processing code directly on a small microcontroller. Hence, for our
purpose, the simplest approach would be to run the code on a computer, which has a webcam
connected to it to take the images, and the robot is controlled by the computer via serial or parallel
port. The code is written in a software that provides the tools for acquiring images, analyzing the
content in the images and deriving conclusions. MATLAB is one of the many such software available
which provide the platform for performing these tasks.

Countering In Claude M. Steele s Whistling Vivaldi
Joseph Harris, teacher and author of the book rewriting, brings a technique in the academic writing
that talks about how we can rewrite an author s opinion by being generous and not steal their credits.
He names this technique countering. To counter is simply a different way of thinking; how we can use
one author s idea to show another point of view not by dishonoring their way of thinking but by giving
them credit for what they wrote. Countering is a significant movement which is not easily created or
followed. It has a set of rules that should be followed by ethical norms which are based on the purpose
of countering. According to Harris there are three stages of countering in text which are, coming to
terms with another point of view, noting its limits, and constructing your own position in response
(70). Claude M. Steele, one of the few great social psychologists whose impact on the larger culture is
immense, uses countering in his book Whistling Vivaldi to shows different opinion that people agrees
on and shows us the truth about them. He is able to counter other author s work, hypothesis and
theories without offending or subdue their work.
Steele s purpose in his book is to show how we underestimate stereotype threat in our society.
According to Claude M. Steele, in his book Whistling Vivaldi, he explains to us that a Stereotype
threat is a situational predicament in which people are or feel themselves to be at risk of conforming to
stereotypes about their social

Jabberwocky Tone
Throughout Lewis Carroll s Jabberwocky , his proficiency in the nonsense genre of poetry is evident.
The poem is set in the same fantasy world as Alice in Wonderland. Carroll exhibits the use of childlike
diction and uses the perspective of a father escorting his young son. Jabberwocky exhibits peculiar,
infantile diction. The poem consists of informal diction, characteristic of the fantasy world it takes
place in. Carroll uses words that are characteristic of a young child s vocabulary. He uses words that
do not exist, characteristic of the nonexistent, illogical world of Carroll s imagination. He also
employs the heavy use of alliteration to enhance certain words throughout the poem. Carroll writes:
So he rested by the Tumtum tree ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning of the poem, the poem is calm and peaceful. As the stanzas change, so does the tone.
The second stanza s tone is one of concern as the father cautions his son regarding the beasts of the
area. The father warns Beware the Jabberwock, my son! (5). The tone then reverts to one of calm in
the following stanza, as Carroll shows the boy stopping to rest by a tree. A drastic shift in the tone
occurs as the jabberwocky emerges to where the boy rests, changing it from a serene, almost
monotonous tone to an exhilarating one marked by a clash between the jabberwocky and the boy.
Carroll writes, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, came whiffling through the tulgey wood (14 15).
The jabberwocky is depicted as a fierce beast, changing the tone from a calm one to a more violent
one. Once the battle is over and the boy stands triumphant over the powerful beast, the tone of the
poem shifts to a jovial and congratulatory one. The father expresses his praise to his son for
conquering the beast. The father exclaims, Come to my arms, my beamish boy! (22). He is ecstatic
about his son s triumph over the jabberwocky and the tone reflects the father s sentiments. Finally, the
poem reverts to the tone of the beginning: one of calm and peace. Carroll s utilization of tone shifts
throughout the entire poem keeps the reader on their heels. The constant shifts allow the reader to
remain entertained and engaged with the poem. The constant shift in tone used by Carroll is
characteristic of a mountain climb. The tone begins as a peaceful, normal one then escalates into one
of violence as the clash against the jabberwocky ensues, then reverts back to the peaceful tone
expressed at the beginning. The constant variability of the poem s tone mirrors that of the actual story,
one that starts slow, quickly escalates, and then recedes to exactly the same place the poem began

Colonialism And Christianism The role colonialism has played in the involvement of Christianity practice in East Africa, is because of the impact of outside sources have determined the historical instabilities of the practice of Christianity and its branches. The expansion per year would result in the requirement to provide four times the amount of personnel, finance, church building, provision for Christian education, etc , although this all depends on the susceptibility of the Europeans and their economic, political and social influences. In Mahenge, Tanzania, there was scarcity in the ratio of priests (including high), to the congregation, compelling the administration of the Church (Green 1995: 34). The 1900 s were when a large amount of missionaries were associated with colonial authorities, and this lead many to have the assumption of missionaries and the administrators having little to no difference (Gray 1982: 60). The African missionaries run by Europeans, had an intimate dependence on the support of secular rulers (Green 1982: 65). Communication within the sub Saharan were in no sphere more significant than in the revolutionary changes that were taking place , and the independence addressed the missions, state, and also albeit for their own benefit (Green 1982: 66). • 4. Creative Concepts Of Creative Products Creative products are goods or services produced and sold by creative industries. Creative industries are defined as having their origin in individual creativity, skill and talent. They typically develop products offered in the entertainment sector such as music, theatre, opera, film, art, broadcasting, etc. Universally seen as a unique type of product, they produce symbolic goods in the form of experiences, ideas or images. Because their products take the form of an experience or service, they are classified as intangible. Intangible goods are products that have no physical nature meaning a person cannot hold, touch, smell or otherwise handle it. Creative products are also seen as ephemeral, meaning they only last for a certain period of time. Their value derives from the artistic and human talents incorporated in it at the different stages of creation, production, reproduction and distribution. (CITE) In many ways, these creative products are often seen as more difficult to analyse, manage or sell compared to other commodity goods or services. Figuring out why these products are often seen as more difficult means understanding how these particular products are managed compared to their counterpart. Most notably, there is not just one product being produced and sold. When it comes to creative goods, the whole product is composed of several different types. From the seller s point, there is the formal product which is the actual artistic performance itself that is being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This week I decided to check out the student organizational fair to see if there was any clubs that I would be interested in. I didn t expect too much out of it in all honesty but I m glad that I checked it out. There is one club in particular that I will definitely join and I wouldn t have known about it if it wasn t for this fair. The first club that I checked out was a sorority called Sigma Lambda Gamma. To many, her role as First Lady, delegate to the UN, Democratic Party member, humanitarian and social activist immortalized her as the conscience of the nation . However critics deriding her as a gadfly and an unfit woman cite many flaws in her leadership capacity. Roosevelt was never elected to office. She was reluctant to assume the responsibilities of being the First Lady. Unlike Lincoln or King no single ‘great speech defined her vision, passion or ideology. In effect, the success of Roosevelt is merely the result of a privileged background and simply being ‘in the right place, at the right time . This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is easy to presume that that person is in the position they are in because of money, connections or an extraordinary intellect. We may suppose that any adversity or problems that this type of person has encountered are on another level to those that we face. Perhaps we don t imagine that there were private obstacles to overcome, personality traits that needed adjustment or adaptation, that private insecurities or personal failings had to be surmounted. It is simplest to assume that the role of leadership was cut out for him/her alone. More often than not, one imagines that the leader in an individual emerges early on in life, apparent from an early age: a bright child with above average intelligence, active in all walks of life, successful in anything that he puts his/her hand to, popular with peers and admired by elders. But nothing is that simple. Take Eleanor Roosevelt: Eleanor Roosevelt was born into a rich elitist family. Her life was blessed with plenty, and she was brought up on a diet of French maids, German maids and governesses. Her wealthy extended family assured her the privilege of lavish living arrangements, she was brought on frequent visits to the theater, she had libraries of books at her disposal and was given the chance to travel the world. The circumstances of her privileged yet very dysfunctional ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Inside A Long Corridor I stared in wonder, inside was a long corridor, lit by a glowing light, to the left were weapon racks and to the right was an alchemy lab. Beyond that to the left was an underground bathing pool with 5 built in seats, continually refilled by water streaming in from above. Opposite this were a full set of forging, smelting and weapon crafting gear, beyond that was an alchemy table and a set of empty book shelves. I was in love with the place already and determined it would be my home. Opening a locked door at the end of the hall revealed a bed in the middle of the room, several chests and to one side a kitchen area and the other were wardrobes. The fact my legs were held at right angle meant it was unlikely I would be moved out of position. I uncapped one of the bottles of monster residue and briefly inhaled before sealing the jar. Within seconds my pussy was moist and lubricated enough that I could start the machine, a few drops fell into the bucket below. With that I unlocked the brake, within seconds the shaft moved against my crotch, licking at my sensitive lips a dozen times every second. Animalistic moans echoed from me as I was overwhelmed by ecstasy. As I moaned in bliss, my shapely breasts danced to the rhythm of the machine, my navel clenched and relaxed in the throes of each climax. I felt flushed and was perspiring, I slipped my hands into the loops and crested heavenly wave after heavenly wave while thinking will I be able to bring myself to stop the machine? Or will I just be pleasured until I am too weak to move? My voluptuous figure squirming helplessly driven by the unquenchable fire in my loins, my moans sounded incredibly loud to my ears but couldn t be heard over the sounds of falling water. As I lay there floating, I mused it should be easier to recruit other suppliers if the business really takes off. But the mead we are making will take at least a month to ferment, so for now I can probably manage, down to the fact I produce far more I m certain than most women do. • 8. Irving Berlin Contributions Irving Berlin made important contributions to musicals and music writing. After his background information is provided, the prior sentence will be proven by using examples of the songs he made as a freelance songwriter, a songwriter for Broadway musical productions , and Hollywood Musical productions, the popularity of the songs, and the awards. Israel Berlin who we now know as Irving Berlin, was born May 11th, Eighteen 1888, in the town of Tyumen, a Siberian city in Russia. He was the one out of eight children. His father, Moses Baline, was a Cantor in the Jewish Synagogue, and his mother was Lena Lipkin Baline During the time he lived in Russia, he and his family were treated terribly, for the fact that Russia was at that time attacking the Jews and the Jewish community. The only thing he remembered about Russia was when an Anti Semitic group burned down his house, and he sat in front of his house all night watching it burn. In circa 1883 his family moved to Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States of America via Ellis Island. Everyone in his family regardless of age, except for practical reasons such as an infant, had to work. Although his family was very poor, he did not seem to notice. His father was a very strict Jew and would punish his children with beatings even for as simple of a reason as taking their shoes off in an unorthodox way. He worked odd jobs until he was eight years of age, when his father died, he became a street singer while doubling as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Between Inductivist And Popper s Points Of View Of... The following essay aims to discuss the inconsistencies between the inductivist and Popper s points of view of science rationality of science in light of claims that the scientific method is inductive yet an inductive method is no. I think is rational to say that inductivist view of science has significant contradiction that Popper s view solves. To support Popper s view my argument will introduce the inductivist and falsificationsist views and I will focus in showing the issues of considered science as objective, scientific knowledge as proven and nature as uniform as well as the differences between inductivism and falsificationism to the creation of hypothesis. The main view of the statement seeing scientific knowledge as proof relays in the assumption that scientific reasoning is inductive. Therefore, as first point I will introduce the main statement of inductivism. The principle of induction states scientific method relays in the objective observation as the basis for the foundation of laws and theories without the influence of subjectivisms such as opinions and beliefs, for this uses the observation of particular statements to the creation of general statements. Furthermore, inductivism assumes that nature will always be uniform, thus infers from past patterns to the creation of hypothesis and laws. Finally, inductivism sees scientific knowledge as proven knowledge. Secondly I will introduce the Popper s view known as falsificationism and its inconsistencies with ... • 10. Booker T. Washington ( 1856-1915 ) Booker T. Washington (1856 1915) was a standout amongst the most persuasive (and questionable) African Americans ever. Brought up the child of a slave mother, Washington was self propelled and focused on his own training from a youthful age. The tumultuous time in America s history amid which he lived managed him new opportunities that originated from Abraham Lincoln s Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 and the inevitable achievement of the North in the Civil War. He took the first chance to go to a formal school, Hampton Institute, which prompted residency and the establishing of a standout amongst the most prestigious African American instructive organizations of the nineteenth century, Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. Washington was seen as pleasing the norm of African American subordination on the grounds that the message of his works and addresses was that the street to accomplishment for blacks was through attaining to monetary dependability through training (primarily, professional preparing); he didn t dissent, did not challenge the political framework, did not talk about the absence of social fairness like his commentators, Frederick Douglass and W.E.B. Du Bois. Washington decided to focus on what blacks could fulfill by concentrating on learning mechanical abilities; he accepted this would help his race secure financial confidence. • 11. Bilingual Education And Multiculturalism First, it is important to identify two main types of bilingual education; transitional and maintenance. Transitional means the primary focus is on learning the dominant language, while drifting apart from the minority language. On the other hand, maintenance deals with maintaining and developing the L1 while also trying to learn the dominant language (Hidden Curriculum, 2014). The main focus of maintenance is to help the child maintain their cultural identity while also trying to help them learn the minority language while living in a society that is prevalent in that specific language (Hidden Curriculum, 2014). Now that we have had the chance to talk about bilingual education and talk about two important aspects of bilingual education ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This case led to the next crucial case in 1982, which was the Plyer v. Doe. The Supreme Court ruled that undocumented children cannot be denied access to education solely on the basis of their immigration status (Noel, 2008). The U. S. Supreme Court felt as though children who were not able to receive education and who were denied the right to education would be drastically harmed throughout their lifetime which is why this case was passed. Many of these undocumented citizens came from Mexico, primarily from Texas and California. The two cases set the stage for immigration into the United States. Prior to these two cases, many people were turned away because they knew little to know English and were seen useless in the United States. This goes against multiculturalism because these minority groups were not treated with the same respect and were viewed as inferior to the dominant culture which was English. Now that we have some background history on the immigration and refugee status it is important to talk about the political trends against bilingual education and multiculturalism that exist today. Because the weather was rather confining, they remained inside, and decided to tell each other ghost stories to pass the time away. What manifested that faithful night became two legendry tales of horror and science gone wrong, as mentioned in Guy Haley s book Sci Fi Chronicles, Polidori produced a short story, The Vampyre, which was more influential initially and provided the impetus for the creation of the modern vampire myth, but it was the 19 year old Mary who produced a novel that would come to be regarded as the first work of science fiction (Haley 19). Richard kuklinski is a prime example of just that. His childhood was something no human, let alone a child should go through. His anger built up and his life eventually was overcome by it. Richard Kuklinski was born on April 11, 1935, to poor Polish parents, Anna and Stanley Kuklinski, in the projects of New Jersey. From then on, Kuklinski was DeMeo s favorite enforcer. Over the next thirty years Kuklinski killed numerous people. The police force wasn t expecting all these murders to be from one man because he used so many different methods of murder. He favored the use of cyanide since it killed quickly and was hard to detect in a toxicology test. He would variously administer it by injection, putting it on a person s food, by aerosol spray, or by simply spilling it on the victim s skin. One of his favorite methods of disposing of a body was to place it in an oil drum. His other disposal methods included dismemberment, burial, or placing the body in the trunk of a car and having it crushed in a junkyard. (Blanco). Hip Hop And Rap Music Swiss Hip Hop and Rap According to Michael Dyson and Wikipedia, Hip hop music and Hip Hop culture formed during the 1970s when block parties became increasingly popular in New York City. The genre became home to and was developed by African American youth residing in the Bronx. Block parties involved DJs playing very percussive breaks of popular songs Then Rapping developed as the primary vocal style of the genre. Hip hop s early evolution occurred as sampling technology and drum machines became widely available and affordable. This can be seen as a technoscape. Hip Hop and Rap music became an important voice of poor inner city youth. They were often the victims of systematic abuse and stuck in continuous poverty. Hip Hop was referred to as black music with serious influences from funk and soul. The first hip hop record is widely regarded to be The Sugarhill Gang s Rapper s Delight , in 1979. As the 1980s came about, the genre grew more complex. In addition hip hop during the 1980s began to spread and became a part of the music scene in dozens of other countries. Today Hip Hop is no underground music in the United States anymore. Hip Hop has become a cultural phenomena enjoyed and heard by millions of people. The very concept of psychopathy simultaneously fascinates and terrifies people as they attempt to understand the motivation of people who they deem to be very different than themselves. However, people rarely stop to consider the physiological differences in individuals with psychopathy, focusing instead on outward displays of sensational aggression. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Much like the University of Pennsylvania study, results indicated that reduced functioning in parts of the brain involved in moral decision making and the expression of emotion may help to explain psychopathy (Glenn et al, 2009; Marsh et al., 2011). Another theory of the physiological etiology of psychopathy focuses on the role of serotonergic functionality. As serotonin functions to maintain mood balance, deficits in the functionality of serotonin have the potential to be hugely detrimental. A study published in Motivation and Emotion analyzed the role of serotonin in high levels of aggression, a key component of the expression of psychopathy. Researchers also proposed a connection between high levels of testosterone and low levels serotonin working together to increase both aggression and impulsivity (Montoya et al., 2012). These findings complement those in a study conducted by researchers at Radboud University, which consisted of a between groups comparison between psychopathy and sociopathy in terms of dysfunction in emotional processing, HPA axis functioning, and serotonergic profiles, as well as polymorphisms in serotonergic genes and behavioral endophenotypes (Yildirim Derksen, 2013). With over 2.5 million miles of paved roadway throughout the United States alone, even covering a fraction of those roadway surfaces with solar panels could generate enormous amounts of clean energy. Figure skating involves a lot of physics. These principles include friction, momentum, and Newton s Third Law. These core principles plays a big impact on the performance of figure skaters. Before understanding the physics of the ice skater s motion, the first thing to comprehend is the skates itself. The major parts of figure skates are the boot itself, and the blade. A figure skater performs a spin by rotating the blade backwards as the skater spins on a fixed point. This fixed point, is also known as the balls of their feet. The skater also has the toe pick, a rigid part of the blade located at the front of the blade, touching the ice. This allows the skater to put a forward pressure down without sliding forward and falling backwards. It also helps keep the skater s balance. When the skater performs a jump, he or she pushes off the toe pick, jumps, lands on the toe pick, and then rocks down to the blade. This also adds stability. The design of the blade allows the skater to rock down to the blade from the toe pick due to the curvature of the blade. This is called the rocker. The skater imparts the momentum from its opposite leg, back into his lower foot and then continues to move. This leads to the movement of the figure skater and the laws and principles of physics used to perform them. Figure skating involves ice, which means there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One key point to note is that Image Processing has huge computational requirements, and it is not possible to run an image processing code directly on a small microcontroller. Hence, for our purpose, the simplest approach would be to run the code on a computer, which has a webcam connected to it to take the images, and the robot is controlled by the computer via serial or parallel port. The code is written in a software that provides the tools for acquiring images, analyzing the content in the images and deriving conclusions. MATLAB is one of the many such software available which provide the platform for performing these tasks. MATLAB What does MATLAB stand for? MATLAB stands for MATrix ... • 35. Countering In Claude M. Steele s Whistling Vivaldi Joseph Harris, teacher and author of the book rewriting, brings a technique in the academic writing that talks about how we can rewrite an author s opinion by being generous and not steal their credits. He names this technique countering. To counter is simply a different way of thinking; how we can use one author s idea to show another point of view not by dishonoring their way of thinking but by giving them credit for what they wrote. Countering is a significant movement which is not easily created or followed. It has a set of rules that should be followed by ethical norms which are based on the purpose of countering. According to Harris there are three stages of countering in text which are, coming to terms with another point of view, noting its limits, and constructing your own position in response (70). Claude M. Steele, one of the few great social psychologists whose impact on the larger culture is immense, uses countering in his book Whistling Vivaldi to shows different opinion that people agrees on and shows us the truth about them. He is able to counter other author s work, hypothesis and theories without offending or subdue their work. Steele s purpose in his book is to show how we underestimate stereotype threat in our society. According to Claude M. Steele, in his book Whistling Vivaldi, he explains to us that a Stereotype threat is a situational predicament in which people are or feel themselves to be at risk of conforming to stereotypes about their social ... • 36. Jabberwocky Tone Throughout Lewis Carroll s Jabberwocky , his proficiency in the nonsense genre of poetry is evident. The poem is set in the same fantasy world as Alice in Wonderland. Carroll exhibits the use of childlike diction and uses the perspective of a father escorting his young son. Jabberwocky exhibits peculiar, infantile diction. The poem consists of informal diction, characteristic of the fantasy world it takes place in. Carroll uses words that are characteristic of a young child s vocabulary. He uses words that do not exist, characteristic of the nonexistent, illogical world of Carroll s imagination. He also employs the heavy use of alliteration to enhance certain words throughout the poem. Carroll writes: So he rested by the Tumtum tree ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the beginning of the poem, the poem is calm and peaceful. As the stanzas change, so does the tone. The second stanza s tone is one of concern as the father cautions his son regarding the beasts of the area. The father warns Beware the Jabberwock, my son! (5). The tone then reverts to one of calm in the following stanza, as Carroll shows the boy stopping to rest by a tree. A drastic shift in the tone occurs as the jabberwocky emerges to where the boy rests, changing it from a serene, almost monotonous tone to an exhilarating one marked by a clash between the jabberwocky and the boy. Carroll writes, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, came whiffling through the tulgey wood (14 15). The jabberwocky is depicted as a fierce beast, changing the tone from a calm one to a more violent one. Once the battle is over and the boy stands triumphant over the powerful beast, the tone of the poem shifts to a jovial and congratulatory one. The father expresses his praise to his son for conquering the beast. The father exclaims, Come to my arms, my beamish boy! (22). He is ecstatic about his son s triumph over the jabberwocky and the tone reflects the father s sentiments. Finally, the poem reverts to the tone of the beginning: one of calm and peace. Carroll s utilization of tone shifts throughout the entire poem keeps the reader on their heels. The constant shifts allow the reader to remain entertained and engaged with the poem. The constant shift in tone used by Carroll is characteristic of a mountain climb. The tone begins as a peaceful, normal one then escalates into one of violence as the clash against the jabberwocky ensues, then reverts back to the peaceful tone expressed at the beginning. The constant variability of the poem s tone mirrors that of the actual story, one that starts slow, quickly escalates, and then recedes to exactly the same place the poem began ... Vietnam s colourful history dates back thousands of years to when settlers began harvesting rice in the fertile ground of the red river valley. However, despite its peaceful beginnings, the subsequent years brought significant turmoil as the nation fell victim to several takeovers from China and Mongolia. Over the course of centuries, the land was a hotly contest by east Asian leaders until Emperor Gia Long raised an army to expel foreign domination in 1802. Under his guidance, Vietnam became a united the nation for the first time (localhistories.org). In spite of this, independence was short lived as colonisation became prominent in the Western world. In the late 19th century France invaded the country, making Vietnam a French colony. The change of power caused some tensions to the region as internal and external forces pressured the French rule. In the mid 20th century, warfare once again engulfed the nation as Ho Chi Minh and his communist party sought to regain Vietnam s independence. With the intention of uniting the north and south, he undertook a guerilla style war against the south who was backed by the United states. The conflict continued until 1975 when the Communist regime united the country at last (local histories). In the years that followed, the nation has emerged ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Seven Spotted Lady Beetle Research Paper The class Insecta is comprised of six legged organisms which are divided into three sections, the head, thorax and abdomen. The head of most insects contains a set of antennas used for sensing and a mandible used for crushing or cutting food. The second section of the insect or the thorax of the insect contains all of the six legs and can contain the wings of some insects, it is a key part of the insect s movements. Insects are the only the only known arthropods which can possibly have wings. The back segment, the abdomen is used by insects to contain reproductive organs and can also hold means of defense that are utilized when the insect is threated such as stingers. The Green Peach Aphid starts from an egg and grows up morphs into a foundress. The foundress becomes an asexual female aphid with or without wings. The aphid forms an asexual female which does not need to fertilize to produce offspring and makes either a sexual male or a sexual female which fertilize the eggs. Most types of aphid lay their eggs either in the plant or on the plant and proceed to kill the plant when they emerge. These aphids are harmful because can also transmit hundreds diseases and/or viruses to the plants. When they lay their eggs in the plant it can kill the plant when they emerge causing losses by reproduction. The most direct cause of harm is caused when the aphids consume the sugars straight out of the plant. The estimated loss caused by the Green Peach Aphid is estimatated at one billion dollars worth of crops.
