This document discusses the optimization of time step and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of combustion in a direct injection diesel engine. The study presents methods for improving engine design efficiency by using CFD to analyze complex fluid dynamic interactions during combustion, including a grid independence study to determine the optimal mesh size and time step for accurate simulations. Results indicate that a time step of 0.25 yields the best agreement between experimental and CFD data, providing valuable insights into in-cylinder combustion processes.
