Hokkaido University is developing open education practices including an OER repository called Academic Commons for Education (ACE). The university offers open course materials and videos through its OCW site and iTunes U. It is creating liberal arts courses through videoconferencing across 7 universities to diversify offerings. The goal is to develop OER and flipped classroom methods to improve student engagement and outcomes.
