Vadim Pisarevsky, Software Engineering Manager at Intel, presents the "Making OpenCV Code Run Fast" tutorial at the May 2017 Embedded Vision Summit.
OpenCV is the de facto standard framework for computer vision developers, with a 16+ year history, approximately one million lines of code, thousands of algorithms and tens of thousands of unit tests. While OpenCV delivers decent performance out-of-the-box for some classical algorithms on desktop PCs, it lacks sufficient performance when using some modern algorithms, such as deep neural networks, and when running on embedded platforms. Pisarevsky examines current and forthcoming approaches to performance optimization of OpenCV, including the existing OpenCL-based transparent API, newly added support for OpenVX, and early experimental results using Halide.
He demonstrates the use of the OpenCL-based transparent API on a popular CV problem: pedestrian detection. Because OpenCL does not provide good performance-portability, he explores additional approaches. He discusses how OpenVX support in OpenCV accelerates image processing pipelines and deep neural network execution. He also presents early experimental results using Halide, which provides a higher level of abstraction and ease of use, and is being actively considered for future support in OpenCV.
Image Classification Done Simply using Keras and TensorFlow
This presentation walks through the process of building an image classifier using Keras with a TensorFlow backend. It will give a basic understanding of image classification and show the techniques used in industry to build image classifiers. The presentation will start with building a simple convolutional network, augmenting the data, using a pretrained network, and finally using transfer learning by modifying the last few layers of a pretrained network. The classification will be based on the classic example of classifying cats and dogs. The code for the presentation can be found at https://github.com/rajshah4/image_keras, and the presentation will discuss how to extend the code to your own pictures to make a custom image classifier.

Cryptography using artificial neural network

Cryptography using artificial neural network

Opensample: A Low-latency, Sampling-based Measurement Platform for Software D...
In this paper we propose, implement and evaluate OpenSample: a low-latency, sampling-based network measure- ment platform targeted at building faster control loops for software-defined networks. OpenSample leverages sFlow packet sampling to provide near–real-time measurements of both net- work load and individual flows. While OpenSample is useful in any context, it is particularly useful in an SDN environment where a network controller can quickly take action based on the data it provides. Using sampling for network monitoring allows OpenSample to have a 100 millisecond control loop rather than the 1–5 second control loop of prior polling-based approaches. We implement OpenSample in the Floodlight OpenFlow controller and evaluate it both in simulation and on a testbed comprised of commodity switches. When used to inform traffic engineering, OpenSample provides up to a 150% throughput improvement over both static equal-cost multi-path routing and a polling-based solution with a one second control loop.

To help and encourage the colocation companies across the world to be ready for the demand from customers to house their OCP IT Gear in Open Racks the OCP Data Center project is to produce a document and checklist that will enable a colo vendor to compare their facility with the functional needs of Open Racks. These racks will most likely be delivered to the colo fully populated with server, storage, switches and power shelves to make the deployment that much easier and more environmentally friendly (minimal packing materials) as an added benefit.
All of the sub systems in the Data Center white space will need to be considered when checking for OCP readiness, be it the structural aspects such as the access door height and width, rolling and static floor loading, electrical systems distribution to provide non-centralized UPS 3 phase supplies, the cooling aspects such as the need for hot aisle containment and the network architecture to allow for a leaf-spine implementation using single mode fibre.

Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).

zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.
