The Iphone 6 And Ipad 6
Introduction For many years, people have been waiting in anticipation for the opportunity to use
mobile payment as the everyday way to pay for merchandise. As of late this anticipation has grown
because on of the largest producers of smartphones are integrated the technology to do so in its
newest phone release the iPhone6 and iPhone 6 plus. Apple has one of the largest market shares of
smartphone users standing at a market share of 41.3% in the three months ending in January
2015 according to Jason Hahn. With this release the mobile payment buzz truly took off. Since
this release many companies had started offering pay stations that allow for this type of payment
method to be accepted. As a result, it is not a surprise to anyone that many of the largest well
known companies such as Visa, MasterCard, AT T, and Verizon have increased their mobile
application presence. Few companies in the world today achieve the success Apple has earned
over the last couple of decades. Apple was founded by co founders Steve Jobsand Steve Wozniak in
1976 in Cupertino, California, in which both men dropped out of Reed College and UC
Berkeley respectively. The year prior, the two men had teamed up to create 50 100 of the first
Apple computers. Since that time, Apple has risen to become one of the most innovative and
successful companies in the world today. In terms of profit, Apple, Inc. enjoys large profits every
year. In addition to that, in January of 2015, it was reported by

The Global Economic Crisis Of The Middle Of 2007 And...
Introduction
The finаnсiаl crisis of 2007/2008 was not а саsе of markets failing. Instеаd, it shows
how markets ultimately rесtify their internal shоrtсоmings. The global economic crisis
started in the middle of 2007 and lasted about five years. The crisis was triggered by the bursting
of a housing bubble (Mishel, Bivens, Gould, Shierholz, 2012). It was characterized by massive
withdrawal of investors from markets as a result of reduced confidence, volatile world stock
markets and reduced liquidity for banks which were unable to offer or obtain credit. Some financial
institutions were facing the risk of collapse. Governments around the world rushed to save these
institutions and cushion their economies from the economic crunch through what were popularly
referred to as economic stimulus programs. This essay discuses the causes, results and exists of the
financial crisis regarding financial market, financial institution, and central bank (monetary policy)
of Greece or Ireland and Europe from 2007 2009.
Causes of the Financial Crisis
A country s trade balance depicts differences in income generation and domestic consumption. If a
country s imports value exceeds its exports value, it means that the country is living beyond its
means . To make up for the excess spending, the country must borrow funds from abroad. Similarly,
if finance investment spending exceeds domestic saving, foreign savings must be spent to fill the
deficit. The amount of money a country borrows is

Latin Aerobics
This semester, I was excited to participate in Latin Aerobics. Previously, I lost seventy pounds the
previous semester thanks to hard work, and fitness classes. My primary goal was to enjoy my
goal weight, and get in shape for life while having fun; what better way to do it than a dance
class? I now want to maintain a healthy weight that I earned at my years at American River
College. When I first lost the weight, I panicked because I thought it meant permanently restricting
my life to weight control portion containers, and a plate stacked with 90% vegetables. Although, I
eat healthy, I no longer deprive myself of fun foods because I adopted a healthier mindset.

classmates, I am fine with my gains. My results have been shocking after I changed my

snail like; however, I would have never dreamed of completing a slow twenty five minute jog
previously. Although, there are people who can dance better, run faster, and lift more than me, I
am prideful in my personal achievements. I began this fitness journey when I noticed my feet hurt
after going to the mailbox. It also did not help that my family gained weight quite easily, and my
family has a very alarming health history. Although, there are not any drug addictions, diabetes

Differences Between American Colonies And New England...
The American colonies were a diverse and interesting people. The colonies are typically split
between the New England colonies and the Southern colonies. While both sets of colonies
would eventually make up what is now the original thirteen colonies of the United States, they
both had their similarities and differences. What led to the differences of the two sets of colonies
and how were they similar? This question was relevant then and it is relevant in today s world.
The southern colonies were mainly controlled by an elite class of planters that owned the most
land and had the most slaves. Below them were the small farmers that had a few slaves and
much smaller plots of land and at the bottom were the landless white people. This social ladder
made up the economic and political worlds in the south. The planters were the most powerful
politically and the most wealthy. This is in sharp contrast to the New England colonies that were
more focused on preserving a familial line and focused on their families rather than on the next
crop growth. The south had very fertile land and this led to the planters taking over the social
landscape. In New England the land wasn t as good and the population wasn t made up of mostly
farm and crop owners.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Charleston was the only major city in the south and because of this the people in the south didn t
become lawyers or politicians. The few people who did go into these fields were mostly the
wealthy plantation owners like the Washington family. In New England there were more Cities
and the people had more options than just owning land and growing crops. The viewpoints on
women and their rights were also very different. In the south women who were widowed would be
able to own the land their husbands leave behind while New England women were focused on

Symbolism In Hester s Hypocrisy
The actions of a religion or cult contribute to their outer appearance. In this case, the actions of the
Puritan religion contribute to their hypocrisy through Hester s A. This is shown Through the
symbolism of the A, how the A was supposed to make her an outcast, and Hester s social status
despite the symbolism of the A. Before the effect of the A can be analyzed, the A s meaning needs
to be explained. Obviously, the A embodies the scorn of the town, as it wouldn t have been used as
Hester s punishment if it doesn t show the colonist s disdain. However, the A embodies so much
more than that. The events leading up to Hester s punishment, meaning Hester sleeping with
Dimmesdale, were born from passionate emotions such as love, happiness

Analysis Of Elegy Written In A Country Courtyard
The poem Elegy Written in a Country Courtyard is delving into the them of death and the mind
and thought of the speaker of the poem. The poem takes place in a country courtyard and
describes the setting and other aspects of the cemetery near the courtyard. By looking at Thomas
Gray s use of metaphors and alliterations to different aspects of the theme, we see that Thomas
Gray focuses heavily on the themes of death and the simplicity of country life. He makes it a point
to make the reader understand multiple times in his poem about death and how it will come for
even the reader. He also goes into detail about how the life of country people are also a lot simpler
and that they could have been people of high importance, but they were never given the same
chances. In this poem, there is the constant notion that the author, Thomas Gray, is portraying the
serenity of the courtyard and cemetery, but also the critical theme of darkness and death. The
author basically writes his own elegy by the end of the poem. There is this theme through out the
setting of the play and also through the way the speaker describes certain aspects of Death and how
each person has to die eventually. The play starts off with the speaker walking in the courtyard and
through the cemetery, looking at all the tombstones and the bareness of each. They are not
expensive, well carved pieces that are sometimes thought of in other cemeteries. The significance
being that the darkness of the night and how much

This meant that ownership of a CD was still necessary, meaning sales did not drop significantly
to begin with. However the invention of MP3 players, allowing people to move files from their
computer on to a portable device meant this was no longer a problem for down loaders. Some
sites have aimed to provide a legal outlet for customers to download music, the most recognisable
being Apple s iTunes system. This has been an extremely successful venture for Apple, but has
done little to prevent piracy. Apple has also played their part in the way we purchase music. The
International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) Digital Music report estimates that
forty billion tracks were downloaded in 2008. 95% of these tracks are estimated to have been
downloaded illegally (IFPI Digital Music Report 2009). While it is obvious that the music
industry has almost gone completely digital and people no longer place any real value in owning
physical CDs, music listeners also avoid paying for their downloaded copy of the songs they wish
to own.
So what action, if any, is being taken to prevent internet users from effectively stealing music? So

Computer Industry And The World Of Mobile Phones
BY:DONTE. NETHERLANDS TECH .VS. USA TECH period3 Think different. It was more
than an advertising slogan. It was a manifesto, and with it, former Apple CEO Steve Jobs upended
the computer industry, the music industry and the world of mobile phones. The digital visionary s
next plan was to bring radical change to schools and textbook publishers, but he died of cancer
before he could do it
Some of the ideas that may have occurred to Jobs are now on display in the Netherlands. Eleven
Steve Jobs schools will open in August, with Amsterdam among the cities that will be hosting such
a facility. Some 1,000 children aged four to 12 will attend the schools, without notebooks, books
or backpacks. Each of them, however, will have his or her own iPad.
There will be no blackboards, chalk or classrooms, homeroom teachers, formal classes, lesson
plans, seating charts, pens, teachers teaching from the front of the room, schedules, parent teacher
meetings, grades, recess bells, fixed school days and school vacations. If a child would rather
play on his or her iPad instead of learning, it ll be okay. And the children will choose what they
wish to learn based on what they happen to be curious about.
Preparations are already underway in Breda, a town near Rotterdam where one of the schools is to
be located. Gertjan Kleinpaste, the 53 year old principal of the facility, is aware that his iPad

Essay about Beowulf as a Messianic Narrative
Beowulf as a messianic narrative has been a subject of great controversy. Given the time period,
Christianity was not completely established, and it was entwined with cultural paganism, as seen
woven throughout the text. The definition of a messianic narrative (containing the ultimate
messianic figure) is found in Isaiah53, a prophecy spoken by God through the Hebrew prophet
Isaiah. This is the standard to which Beowulfmust be compared to determination the nature of the
poem. Many scholars such as Harold Bloom (quoting E. Talbot Donaldson), Roberta Frank, Rich
Lawson, Seamus Heaney, and J. R. R. Tolkien (quoting R. W. Chambers) have critically viewed
Beowulf to determine the nature of the epic, resulting in a diverse range of... Show more content on

Bloom and Donaldson argue that whilst Christian elements are present, heroic paganism is more
prevalent in Beowulf. This is supported by the death of Beowulf, reading, of all the world kings,
[he was] keenest for fame, summarising Beowulf, and suggesting his life only amounted to self
glorification.
In assessing the Christianity of Beowulf, Frank suggests that, like King Alfred did of Remiguis s
commentaries, the author of Beowulf used pagan analogies for Christian concepts. Lawson
explores this in the role fate has throughout the poem. The Geat prince placed all his trust in...his
Maker s favour, Then Beowulf speaks, The Father...shall apportion the honours...to whichever
side shall seem to Him fit, . The poet wrote, Fate had not assigned him the glory of battle, . The
composer s personification of Fate portrays the place it has taken God s place. Lawson writes of
this, The pagan concept of fate...is tied to God, suggesting that Beowulf is resigned to fate, but the
author is using this to illustrate the nature of God. Frank also states, What matters is how the
rulers...served God s purpose, , also calling Beowulf a, Pagan prince of peace, . While Beowulf
demonstrates a pagan trust in fate, Lawson and Frank believe it was the author using paganism to
convey the messianic narrative, and that Beowulf was instrumental in doing so.
In analysing Beowulf, Lawson concluded it was a messianic narrative including a messianic figure,

It reflects their intentions of its implementation.
Their principals still affect our modern laws of today. I think that its pretty impressive that the
constitution could survive hundreds of years of generations, wars, financial depressions, and
technologies chamges and not be too old fashioned for today s ways.
The reason why it still stands strong is because its purpose has always been the same. To make
sure that new laws do not contridict the philosophy that all men are created equal and should be
able to retain that freedom. The purpose of the Constitution is to regulate modern laws in every
state. To make sure that laws do not take away from peoples rights.
The Constitution still to this day carries great significance because it is our basis as citizens, law
enforcers and law makers to creating new laws to adjust to our always changing society. If our
President, the chief executive of the United States of America, strays from the constitutional focus
because of unruly conduct or interests, the constitution garauntees our right to override and fire
him. We are the boss. The constitution allows us to keep our leaders in check, but also to keep
new bills and laws in check. That s where a lot of governements go currupt, when the leaders have
gotten out of hand and aren t keeping focus of their people as their priority, when they function and

But are you real safe at any of those places? What keeps someone from coming in and just taking

From Elementary schools to colleges, this is happening. Over 49.8 million enrolled in public
school in 2012. Although that may seem like a substantial amount of children,, the 297 that have
lost their lives seems like more of an impact. Every year, more than 250 students in the Chicago
Public Schools are shot, approximately 30 of these shootings are fatal. To deal with this problem,
CPS CEO Ron Huberman launched the $60 million violence prevention initiative in September of
2009 a program that have received a substantial about of national attention as an innovative attempt
to bring the violence rate down, and increase the education of the students most at risk for
violence and destruction. During this study a graph was made to determine the factors of children
that were more susceptible to being shot. For example if you have ever spent time in a juvenile
detention center, raises the likelihood by 2.5 percentage points. I feel that conducting this test has
helped determine some factors that could represent some problems and be better equipt with
solutions. Some of the largest school massacres were at Virginia Tech, 2007 killing 32 people.
Columbine High School 1999, 15 people dead. The Sandy Hook Elementary shooting, the horrific
story we all remember in 2012. Where 28 people died. It s really unfortunate our world has come

Because these vulnerabilities can provide access to the sensitive information, this can result in loss
of confidential data. In some cases, the attacker can take control the host web application by using
SQL injection.
Injection Techniques
a.Injection through user input: the attackers inject SQL statements by giving reasonably user input.
A web application can read user data based on the environment in which application is deployed.
This helps the attacker to get the user data directly from them.
b.Injection through cookies: Cookies are data sent from a website and stored on the client system.
If web applications access the cookies to establish SQL queries then an attacker can easily submit
an attack by combining it in cookie.
c.Injection through variables: Variables are the group that contains HTTP, network headers, and
environmental variables. If these variables are associated with the database without altering, this
creates SQL injection vulnerability.

Essay On African American Culture
African American culture is unique due to their miserable history of slavery that was generated
within United States and is related to the history of this nation. Most historians agree that African
people arrived in the colonial area, called New World, which is now the United States in the
seventeenth century. They came here with British and Dutch settlers through a system of
involuntary servitude (Chandler, 2017, p.160). In the early colonial period, African slaves officially
enjoyed equal rights with white indentured servants. However, within two or three generations, the
situation drastically changed. The slave trade developed; imported African slaves became popular
in several colonies with the principle that slaves were properties. Black peopleat that time were in a
position from which they could not escape and their children were born in slavery.... Show more

In addition, they were undervalued and not respected as humans. This perspective was believed to

European colonists practice of re naming among African Americans. According to a journal by Zulu
(2017) African original names represented the identities of individuals and the culture history (p.
129). In order to suppress and erase African identity, European colonists attacked, defiled, and
provided African slaves new names that reflected their subservience (Zulu, 2017, p. 129). The
author explains that naming is not only a personal identity issue, but a human rights issue as well.
When this basic right was violated, this means the black Americans were not considered human

released in our atmosphere, plants then combine this element with sunlight and water to go through
the process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis allows plants to form carbohydrates that store energy
and this energy is later used to carry out life functions. Photosynthesis is also responsible for other
organisms to carry out their life functions as well because the byproduct it produces is oxygen. The
carbon cycle is not only accountable for making byproducts that organisms need to live, it is also
responsible for maintaining the climate on the planet. CO2 is a greenhouse gas that traps infrared
radiation heat in our atmosphere, it maintains temperatures on Earth so that it never gets too cold or
too hot for organisms to maintain life (Columbia University). The Carbon Cycle is responsible for
maintaining temperatures on our planet but it does need help from living organisms to aid with the
process. According to the article What are Phytoplankton, organisms such as Phytoplankton are
responsible for the transfer of carbon dioxidefrom our atmosphere to our oceans, Phytoplankton
take CO2 from the atmosphere absorb it and either get eaten by other organisms or fall to the
ocean floor. This process takes greenhouse gasses from our atmosphere and puts it in the depths of

The Black Arts Movement Analysis
Larry Neal made these key principles of the Black Arts Movement clear in The Black Arts
Movement where he coined the term. The basic points are that the Black Arts Movement is
community based, explores the relationship between arts and politics, refutes white societal norms
by means of a true split from the racist west (784), and is ethical from the lens of the oppressed.
Basically, the movement is meant to give a voice to those oppressed (black) people that did not
have one previously.
The focus on separating from western viewpoints is displayed with language (a lot of Black Arts
poems utilize African American vernacular English and stray away from conventions), the
changing on one s last name from that of the oppressor, etc. Neal ... Show more content on

During the Civil Rights Era, the Black Power Movement articulated a radicalized Black manhood
throwing off the imagery of the emasculated and shuffling Black male dictated by racial caste...
Hypermasculinity (i.e., hyperagressiveness, hypersexuality, excessive emphasis on the appearance
of wealth, and the absence of personal accountability) as a dominant conception of manhood in
poor inner city communities, particularly among youth, is seen as a by product of the pathology
and despair of the Black underclass. (Hunter and Davis 23).
Basically, because of the way that the system is set up to harm and bring down black men, their
immediate response is to produce this shield of hyper masculinity that has become seeped in
black culture even today and led to the silencing of women. Women are left unable to express
themselves because all of the space that there was to take up when it came to black voices was
used by men.
Many works depict women negatively referring to them in derogatory terms and as simply sexual
objects, but despite this, women were eventually able to advance in the movement and succeed in
ways that their male counterparts were unable to. They were able to invoke emotional responses
and illicit things from an audience that the men in the movement struggled

Education Is The Best For My Life
There are an infinite amount of professions in the world, ranging from neurosurgeons, to taxi
drivers, to chefs. The ultimate goal is to choose the one profession that is the best suited for you
and will result in a happy, comfortable lifestyle. In the process of deciding what I wanted to do
for the rest of my life, I ran into a seemingly large problem; I changed my mind every day. I soon
realized, that it was normal for a teenager to change their mind all the time. This is because we are
still learning. As we grow and learn new things, our interests and personalities change accordingly.
We learn what we really enjoy as well as things that we don t enjoy so much. Educationis what
shapes us into who we are today. However, education does not end when we graduate from high
schoolor college. In fact, education never ends at all. For every second that our heart is beating,
our brains are learning. Upon realizing what a significant role education plays in our lives, I
decided that I want to spend the rest of my life in the classroom, educating and influencing the
lives of young children. It is commonly said that we are a product of our environment. If there is
any truth to this statement, then my decision was definitely the right decision. Most children walk
into a classroom and feel intimidated or out of place, but this has never been the case for me.
Since I can remember, I have felt a sense of comfort in the classroom setting. With my mother being
a teacher, she entered me

Haemophilia is an inherited blood clotting disorder where the blood doesn t clot properly
because there isn t enough clotting factor VIII or IX in the blood of someone who is affected by
haemophilia (ref). There are two types of haemophilia. The most common form, Haemophilia A, or
Classic Haemophilia, affects people who are deficient in factor VIII and Haemophilia B, or
Christmas Disease, affects people who are deficient in factor IX. Haemophilia can also be
referred to as the royal disease because it affected royal families in England, Germany, Russia
and Spain in the 19th and 20th centuries. Queen Victoria from the English royal family is
believed to have carried the altered gene of haemophilia having a factor XI deficiency. In
Australia there are approximately 3000 people affect by haemophilia and majority of them are
males, with severe haemophilia extremely rare in females, but some females do have lower factor
levels and bleeding symptoms. Abnormal bleedings had first been recorded hundreds of years ago,

Most Dangerous Cult Research Paper
Did you know that America is home to come of the most dangerous cults in history? Cults began in
America as early as the 1930s, and they still exist today! By definition, a cult is any group which
employs mind control and deceptive recruiting techniques (How Cults Work). Although people may
know what a cult it, they may not know how potentially dangerous a cult is.
Cults can be evil and mind controlling. They can also be extremely dangerous. According to
Rick Ross, an expert consultant and intervention specialist, there are several signs of a
potentially unsafe group or leader. These signs include: absolute authoritarianism without
meaningful accountability; there is no legitimate reason to leave, former followers are always
wrong in leaving, negative or even evil; followers can never be good enough; and the group or
leader is the exclusive means of knowing the truth or receiving validation, no other process or
discovery is really acceptable or credible. Cult leaders use mind control to control their group. This
could be dangerous or life threatening. Leaders are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

O Ahu Case Study
The rail that is currently being built on the island of Oahu is still under construction and is
experiencing an 18 months delay due to lawsuits and cost overruns. The last thing that this island
needs right now is another thing that contributes to the heavy traffic. The rail project has been in
motion for quite some time now but there is still little to no evidence of it completing any time

values.

The 1997 Asian financial crisis reinforced Australias growing economic interdependence within
Asia, evident through the assistance given to Indonesia, Thailand, and South Korea to help re
establish their economies. Regional dynamics largely shifted as a result, contributing to the demise
of the Indonesia Suharto administration, and its subsequent transition to democracy. As Indonesia
develops itself as a democratic country, there have been more opportunities for the traditionally
different nations of Indonesia and Australia to intertwine, seeing an increase in regional policy and
greater collaboration on issues of mutual importance.
As Indonesian society continues to transform, so has the national interest in global politics. This

and a greater awareness for implementation of crime prevention and migration strategies. Indonesia
has strongly supported the inclusion of Australia in the East Asia Summit (EAS), a conference

Summary Of Rethinking The Wild By Christopher Solomon Essay
Humanity co exists with nature in a relationship that periodically shifts between symbiotic and
parasitic. We maintain this relationship in order to survive. In exchange, we carefully monitor how
our behavior alters the natural environment and affects those living within it. This responsibility is
the price we pay for our species sentience and dominance. To help fulfill our duty, America
established the 1954 WildernessAct in hopes of becoming passive guardians of natureinstead of
encroaching gardeners. However, the Wilderness Act has failed. In his article, Rethinking the Wild ,
Christopher Solomon questions the effectiveness of the law and correctly concludes that, after fifty
years of dormancy, mankind must take an active role in environmental protection, the role of the
gardener. Though critics may argue that the passivity of the guardian should be maintained,
realistically, little can be done to preserve the environment when we refuse to do anything. Because
mankind has a greater stake in the wilderness than we realize, we must assume a proactive role in
protecting the wilderness out of respect for nature and our own ethical standards.
Boundaries and Investments
Assume for the sake of our argument that nature holds no intrinsic value. Why, then, is the
wilderness worth protecting? Truthfully, the wilderness can be a valuable indicator of the planet s
overall health, which is not easily gauged in industrialized and populated areas due to human
influence. For

Summary Of The Readers Strike By John Ross
In the reading, The Readers Strike , John Ross emphasizes the lives of cigar makers working in
Ybor City, Florida during the middle of the Great Depression. Although the Great Depression
was a hard time for most people, John Ross states that a few were well off through the great
depression such as fine cigar makers, certain stock brokers and politicians. Furthermore, cigar
makers worked long hours under the hot sun for low wages even though the cigar industry was
doing better than most. However, they still pooled their money together to pay for readers.
These cigar makers were often foreigners who were illiterate or spoke a different language. A
contemporary issue arose with readers or los lectores reading to the workers the words of Zola,
Dickens, Cervantes, and Tolstoy that everything they wrote was about the great depression and
specifically the lives of the workers.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

philosophy allowing individual investors to manage their assets and making transactions free from

Analysing Talk to Chuck ads
The first thing to notice about the Talk to Chuck advertisement was the medium ВЎV animation.
The ads were not exactly cartoons ВЎV they were shot on film and then coloured over using the
Rotoscopy technology from MIT Media Labs veteran Bob Sabiston (the same technology was used
in the movie ВЎВ§Waking LifeВЎВЁ). The animated ads succeeded in focusing peopleВЎВ¦s
attention to the conversations. Somehow the removal of the real world details present in the live
actorВЎВ¦s face and retention of the actual background set, forced consumers move past what they
were seeing and shifted their attention to the dialogue. The characters discussed about
commissions, trades and plans for the future.
The second surprising choice was the new slogan, ВЎВ§Talk to ChuckВЎВЁ ВЎV not Charles, but
Chuck. Even though Mr. Charles Schwab was not present in the ads, the campaign was centred on
him. The Schwab campaign carried the theme ВЎВ§Talk to ChuckВЎВЁ which appeared as an eye
catching graphic device in the form of a dialogue balloon as would be found in a cartoon strip.
Some liked the use of the name ВЎВ§ChuckВЎВЁ; some loved it; some hated it; but everybody
noticed it. Overall it communicated a company that was comfortable to talk to, approachable and

The buffalo woman is the catalyst for all events succeeding her prophecy. Without her, Sundiata
would never have been born and the Mali Empire wouldn t have been created because Maghan
wouldn t have married Sogolon without knowing of the prophecy. Interestingly, the buffalo
woman s prophecy focuses more on Sogolon than Maghan, even though Sundiata s birth is
reliant on both of them. This gives Sogolon and immediate air of importance and power. The
buffalo woman predicts that Sogolon, will be an extraordinary woman if you manage to possess
her (8). Here, the buffalo woman asserts the exceptional quality of Sogolon, despite her
unattractive exterior. It is also important to note that she doesn t say that Sogolon is exceptional
only because of her relation to Sundiata, but rather leaves her high remarks on Sogolon herself.
Sogolon has one of the most important roles of any character in the Epic barring Sundiata
himself. She was prophesized to bear a child who will be more mighty than Alexander (6).
Interestingly, Sogolon s physical appearance is described persistently in this epic. She is ugly,
she is hideous, she bears on her back a disfiguring hump. Her monstrous eyes seem to have been

I am the shoulder joint but some people call me the glenohumoral joint. The shouldr joint is a ball

This is the most mobile joint in the body, but also the most frequently injured. The rotator cuff,
which is a main component of the shoulder jointis often injured so research on how to efficiently
heal that injury is ongoing. The shoulder joint is extremely flexible compared to the rest of the
joints in the body. This flexibility is partly due to the fact that it is a ball and socket joint. By
being a ball and socket joint it means that it is capable of circumduction, angular, and rotational
movement. It allows one s arm to move up, down, to the right, to the left, and in a circle. Because
it has a large range of movement, it is unstable and easily damaged. To make up for this, it has

Farmer, Shipbuilder, And Soldier
Farmer, Shipbuilder, and Soldier
The build up of the armed services and the migration of workers to industrial centers such as
Portland created severe farm labor shortages. In 1944, back in Bradley, South Dakota, Audrey
Grigg s uncle and aunt, Robert and Bessie Brown couldn t find anyone to work their farmland.
Ever since Bessie inherited the land from her parents, tenant farmers kept it productive. Although
Robert grew up on a farm, he never farmed as an adult. Shortly after serving in World War I

his brother, Harry, acquired a Ford dealership in Bradley, which they operated throughout the
1920s, 30s, and into the 40s as part owners.
With no other solution evident for Bessie s farm to remain under cultivation, Robert approached
his brother, Harry, with a proposition to sell to him his share of the automobile dealership. The
result of such a transaction would free Robert up to run the farm himself. The brothers, however,
couldn t agree on the sale price. After unsuccessfully negotiating favorable terms, an exasperated

People wonder why they have been diagnosed with cancer, they also wonder how it could have
happened. Some people don t understand why tobacco and radiation cause cancer, and that is what
is answered in this essay. The smoke that emits from smoking tobacco holds a radioactive chemical
called polonium 210. Additionally, X rays and gamma rays are recognized as human carcinogens.
As a result, smoking causes DNA damage which leads to cancer! To what extent does tobacco and
radiation cause cancer?
Polonomium 210 Major tobacco industries found that polonium 210 was in tobacco for more
than 40 years and tried to remove the substance but failed. Studies have detected polonium 210 in
the airways of smokers, where they are concentrated in hot spots. They remain there because other
chemicals in cigarette smoke damage the body s cleaning systems, which would normally get rid
of gunk in our airways (Yong). In the end, polonium 210 forms up and disturbs nearby cells to

The Postal Acceptance Rule
Postal Acceptance Rule (Mailbox Rule): The Postal Acceptance Rule or Mailbox Rule is a
common law term for contracts that determines the formation of a contract in which the
involved parties are communicating through the mail. The primary thrust or core of the mailbox
rule is that the acceptance of an offer is sent before the revocation of the specific offer is
received. In a scenario where the communication is sent rejecting the offer while a later
communication is also sent in acceptance of the contract, then the first communication to be
received by the offeror will succeed ( Mailbox Rule , n.d.). Since this rule originated several
years or decades ago, many people say that it should no longer be applied today because the
reliability of the postal system is declining and the increased use of electronic means to send
letters. Understanding the Postal Acceptance Rule: As a doctrine in contract law, the postal
acceptance rule states that if mail is a rational means of delivery for an acceptance, the acceptance
becomes applicable on the date its postmarked and dropped in the mailbox ( What is the Mailbox
Rule? n.d.). Therefore, the rule is applicable for payments in insurance premiums where it s
considered as a way of accepting the contract with its postmarked date being the acceptance date.
Since its inception and establishment in the early 1800s, the postal acceptance rule is a common
characteristic of legal standards in various nations like Australia. Notably, the

American people were very disgusted in the way the cuban citizens were treated and by the way the
Spanish treat the Cubans in the beginning of the Spanish American war. The Cuban s soon adopted

Instеаd, it shows how markets ultimately rесtify their internal shРѕrtСЃРѕmings. The global economic crisis started in the middle of 2007 and lasted about five years. The crisis was triggered by the bursting of a housing bubble (Mishel, Bivens, Gould, Shierholz, 2012). It was characterized by massive withdrawal of investors from markets as a result of reduced confidence, volatile world stock markets and reduced liquidity for banks which were unable to offer or obtain credit. Some financial institutions were facing the risk of collapse. Governments around the world rushed to save these institutions and cushion their economies from the economic crunch through what were popularly referred to as economic stimulus programs. • 5. Latin Aerobics This semester, I was excited to participate in Latin Aerobics. Previously, I lost seventy pounds the previous semester thanks to hard work, and fitness classes. My primary goal was to enjoy my goal weight, and get in shape for life while having fun; what better way to do it than a dance class? I now want to maintain a healthy weight that I earned at my years at American River College. When I first lost the weight, I panicked because I thought it meant permanently restricting my life to weight control portion containers, and a plate stacked with 90% vegetables. Although, I eat healthy, I no longer deprive myself of fun foods because I adopted a healthier mindset. Previously before my journey to health, I finished the Magic Bullet craze, and... During the end of the Latin Aerobics, I noticed that I was no longer exhausted by workouts, and I no longer had breathing problems like the prior years Although I still cannot sprint a mile like my other classmates, I am fine with my gains. My results have been shocking after I changed my perspective, for example, I ran on my treadmill for twenty five minutes straight. My pace was snail like; however, I would have never dreamed of completing a slow twenty five minute jog previously. Although, there are people who can dance better, run faster, and lift more than me, I am prideful in my personal achievements. I began this fitness journey when I noticed my feet hurt after going to the mailbox. It also did not help that my family gained weight quite easily, and my family has a very alarming health history. Although, there are not any drug addictions, diabetes runs in the family. I resorted to Xylitol and Coconut sugars as a health prevention plan. My grandfathers died of heart attacks and hypertension, my great grandmother died from cancer, and my uncle died of a stroke. They all were overweight from poor eating habits. • 6. Differences Between American Colonies And New England... The American colonies were a diverse and interesting people. The colonies are typically split between the New England colonies and the Southern colonies. While both sets of colonies would eventually make up what is now the original thirteen colonies of the United States, they both had their similarities and differences. What led to the differences of the two sets of colonies and how were they similar? This question was relevant then and it is relevant in today s world. The southern colonies were mainly controlled by an elite class of planters that owned the most land and had the most slaves. Below them were the small farmers that had a few slaves and much smaller plots of land and at the bottom were the landless white people. This social ladder made up the economic and political worlds in the south. The planters were the most powerful politically and the most wealthy. This is in sharp contrast to the New England colonies that were more focused on preserving a familial line and focused on their families rather than on the next crop growth. The south had very fertile land and this led to the planters taking over the social landscape. • 8. Analysis Of Elegy Written In A Country Courtyard The poem Elegy Written in a Country Courtyard is delving into the them of death and the mind and thought of the speaker of the poem. The poem takes place in a country courtyard and describes the setting and other aspects of the cemetery near the courtyard. By looking at Thomas Gray s use of metaphors and alliterations to different aspects of the theme, we see that Thomas Gray focuses heavily on the themes of death and the simplicity of country life. He makes it a point to make the reader understand multiple times in his poem about death and how it will come for even the reader. He also goes into detail about how the life of country people are also a lot simpler and that they could have been people of high importance, but they were never given the same chances. In this poem, there is the constant notion that the author, Thomas Gray, is portraying the serenity of the courtyard and cemetery, but also the critical theme of darkness and death. The author basically writes his own elegy by the end of the poem. There is this theme through out the setting of the play and also through the way the speaker describes certain aspects of Death and how each person has to die eventually. The play starts off with the speaker walking in the courtyard and through the cemetery, looking at all the tombstones and the bareness of each. They are not expensive, well carved pieces that are sometimes thought of in other cemeteries. The significance being that the darkness of the night and how much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Essay about Beowulf as a Messianic Narrative Beowulf as a messianic narrative has been a subject of great controversy. Given the time period, Christianity was not completely established, and it was entwined with cultural paganism, as seen woven throughout the text. The definition of a messianic narrative (containing the ultimate messianic figure) is found in Isaiah53, a prophecy spoken by God through the Hebrew prophet Isaiah. This is the standard to which Beowulfmust be compared to determination the nature of the poem. Many scholars such as Harold Bloom (quoting E. Bloom and Donaldson argue that whilst Christian elements are present, heroic paganism is more prevalent in Beowulf. This is supported by the death of Beowulf, reading, of all the world kings, [he was] keenest for fame, summarising Beowulf, and suggesting his life only amounted to self glorification. In assessing the Christianity of Beowulf, Frank suggests that, like King Alfred did of Remiguis s commentaries, the author of Beowulf used pagan analogies for Christian concepts. Lawson explores this in the role fate has throughout the poem. Frank also states, What matters is how the rulers...served God s purpose, , also calling Beowulf a, Pagan prince of peace, . Essay On African American Culture African American culture is unique due to their miserable history of slavery that was generated within United States and is related to the history of this nation. Most historians agree that African people arrived in the colonial area, called New World, which is now the United States in the seventeenth century. The 1997 Asian financial crisis reinforced Australias growing economic interdependence within Asia, evident through the assistance given to Indonesia, Thailand, and South Korea to help re establish their economies. Regional dynamics largely shifted as a result, contributing to the demise of the Indonesia Suharto administration, and its subsequent transition to democracy. As Indonesia develops itself as a democratic country, there have been more opportunities for the traditionally different nations of Indonesia and Australia to intertwine, seeing an increase in regional policy and greater collaboration on issues of mutual importance. As Indonesian society continues to transform, so has the national interest in global politics. This has seen an increase in regional and global affairs, triggering a growth in environmental activism, and a greater awareness for implementation of crime prevention and migration strategies. Indonesia has strongly supported the inclusion of Australia in the East Asia Summit (EAS), a conference which examines economic, political, security and environmental issues within the region. • 29. Summary Of Rethinking The Wild By Christopher Solomon Essay Humanity co exists with nature in a relationship that periodically shifts between symbiotic and parasitic. We maintain this relationship in order to survive. In exchange, we carefully monitor how our behavior alters the natural environment and affects those living within it. This responsibility is the price we pay for our species sentience and dominance. To help fulfill our duty, America established the 1954 WildernessAct in hopes of becoming passive guardians of natureinstead of encroaching gardeners. However, the Wilderness Act has failed. In his article, Rethinking the Wild , Christopher Solomon questions the effectiveness of the law and correctly concludes that, after fifty years of dormancy, mankind must take an active role in environmental protection, the role of the gardener. Though critics may argue that the passivity of the guardian should be maintained, realistically, little can be done to preserve the environment when we refuse to do anything. Because mankind has a greater stake in the wilderness than we realize, we must assume a proactive role in protecting the wilderness out of respect for nature and our own ethical standards. Boundaries and Investments Assume for the sake of our argument that nature holds no intrinsic value. Why, then, is the wilderness worth protecting? Truthfully, the wilderness can be a valuable indicator of the planet s overall health, which is not easily gauged in industrialized and populated areas due to human influence. For ... • 30. Summary Of The Readers Strike By John Ross In the reading, The Readers Strike , John Ross emphasizes the lives of cigar makers working in Ybor City, Florida during the middle of the Great Depression. Although the Great Depression was a hard time for most people, John Ross states that a few were well off through the great depression such as fine cigar makers, certain stock brokers and politicians. Furthermore, cigar makers worked long hours under the hot sun for low wages even though the cigar industry was doing better than most. However, they still pooled their money together to pay for readers. These cigar makers were often foreigners who were illiterate or spoke a different language. A contemporary issue arose with readers or los lectores reading to the workers the words of Zola, Dickens, Cervantes, and Tolstoy that everything they wrote was about the great depression and specifically the lives of the workers.... The buffalo woman predicts that Sogolon, will be an extraordinary woman if you manage to possess her (8). Here, the buffalo woman asserts the exceptional quality of Sogolon, despite her unattractive exterior. It is also important to note that she doesn t say that Sogolon is exceptional only because of her relation to Sundiata, but rather leaves her high remarks on Sogolon herself. Sogolon has one of the most important roles of any character in the Epic barring Sundiata himself. She was prophesized to bear a child who will be more mighty than Alexander (6). Interestingly, Sogolon s physical appearance is described persistently in this epic. She is ugly, she is hideous, she bears on her back a disfiguring hump. The shouldr joint is a ball and socket type joint and is connected to part of the humerus and the scapula at the glenoid cavity. This is the most mobile joint in the body, but also the most frequently injured. The rotator cuff, which is a main component of the shoulder jointis often injured so research on how to efficiently heal that injury is ongoing. The shoulder joint is extremely flexible compared to the rest of the joints in the body. This flexibility is partly due to the fact that it is a ball and socket joint. By being a ball and socket joint it means that it is capable of circumduction, angular, and rotational movement. It allows one s arm to move up, down, to the right, to the left, and in a circle. Because it has a large range of movement, it is unstable and easily damaged. To make up for this, it has many ligaments and tendons to keep it in place. Farmer, Shipbuilder, And Soldier Farmer, Shipbuilder, and Soldier The build up of the armed services and the migration of workers to industrial centers such as Portland created severe farm labor shortages. In 1944, back in Bradley, South Dakota, Audrey Grigg s uncle and aunt, Robert and Bessie Brown couldn t find anyone to work their farmland. Ever since Bessie inherited the land from her parents, tenant farmers kept it productive. Although Robert grew up on a farm, he never farmed as an adult. Shortly after serving in World War I , he and his brother, Harry, acquired a Ford dealership in Bradley, which they operated throughout the 1920s, 30s, and into the 40s as part owners. With no other solution evident for Bessie s farm to remain under cultivation, Robert approached his brother, Harry, with a proposition to sell to him his share of the automobile dealership. The result of such a transaction would free Robert up to run the farm himself. The brothers, however, couldn t agree on the sale price. After unsuccessfully negotiating favorable terms, an exasperated Harry told his brother that he needed to either buy or sell with the little over one thousand dollars in the company s bank account. Robert agreed to these conditions and in a meeting at the bank to conclude the business deal, Robert shocked Harry by buying, instead of selling, the dealership. Some people don t understand why tobacco and radiation cause cancer, and that is what is answered in this essay. The smoke that emits from smoking tobacco holds a radioactive chemical called polonium 210. Additionally, X rays and gamma rays are recognized as human carcinogens. As a result, smoking causes DNA damage which leads to cancer! To what extent does tobacco and radiation cause cancer? Polonomium 210 Major tobacco industries found that polonium 210 was in tobacco for more than 40 years and tried to remove the substance but failed. Studies have detected polonium 210 in the airways of smokers, where they are concentrated in hot spots. They remain there because other chemicals in cigarette smoke damage the body s cleaning systems, which would normally get rid of gunk in our airways (Yong). • 39. The Postal Acceptance Rule Postal Acceptance Rule (Mailbox Rule): The Postal Acceptance Rule or Mailbox Rule is a common law term for contracts that determines the formation of a contract in which the involved parties are communicating through the mail. The primary thrust or core of the mailbox rule is that the acceptance of an offer is sent before the revocation of the specific offer is received. In a scenario where the communication is sent rejecting the offer while a later communication is also sent in acceptance of the contract, then the first communication to be received by the offeror will succeed ( Mailbox Rule , n.d.). Since this rule originated several years or decades ago, many people say that it should no longer be applied today because the reliability of the postal system is declining and the increased use of electronic means to send letters. Understanding the Postal Acceptance Rule: As a doctrine in contract law, the postal acceptance rule states that if mail is a rational means of delivery for an acceptance, the acceptance becomes applicable on the date its postmarked and dropped in the mailbox ( What is the Mailbox Rule? n.d.). Therefore, the rule is applicable for payments in insurance premiums where it s considered as a way of accepting the contract with its postmarked date being the acceptance date. Since its inception and establishment in the early 1800s, the postal acceptance rule is a common characteristic of legal standards in various nations like Australia. Notably, the ... The son of a hand weaver, Carnegie received his only formal education during the short time between his birth and his move to the United States. This act from Carnegie is fitting with one of his most famous quotations, Put all of your eggs in one basket, and then watch that basket. This firm became one of the greatest industrial enterprises in America. Carnegie later sold it to J.P. Morgan s United States Steel Corporation in 1901 for $400 million, which would be a little over $4 billion today! After retiring, Carnegie s fortune was estimated to be as large as half a billion dollars. From that time on, with the philosophy that the rich have a moral obligation to give away their money, he devoted himself to philanthropy. Although ironic, this man of great fortune strongly believed in the merits of poverty for the development of character and work ethic, and determined that wealthy men should not leave their fortunes to their children, but should give it away, claiming The man who dies thus rich, dies disgraced. • 42. A Social Hierarchy Of Control Over Societal Resources In all societies three kinds of resources are valued i) power the ability to impose one s will on others; ii) prestige respect from others; iii) property wealth owned, whether measured in yams, land etc. And all societies more complex than a simple gathering band, these resources are unequally distributed among individuals and groups. When people who differ in their ascribed and achieved characteristics are evaluated differently; a social hierarchy is formed. A hierarchy is a set of ranked statuses from highest to lowest. Because both the most and least valued traits are likely to be relatively rare, status hierarchies tend to be diamond shaped, narrow at the very top and bottom. Within the hierarchy, people at different levels or strata, can claim different amounts of power, prestige and property. In this way, a set of ranked statuses based on evaluations of social worth is transformed into a hierarchy of control over societal resources. Stratification systems thus, are both a cause and consequences of inequality. Although in a hunting and gathering society all members are equally valued and rewarded, but it is a rare phenomenon. Once the division of labour expands beyond gathering some tasks will be considered more important than others, and the people who perform such tasks are rewarded with power, respect and material goods. At the very least, labour is divided on the basis of sex and age, so that all societies have gender and age stratification systems. The more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
