Oil spills may be due to
releases of crude oil from
tankers, offshore platform,
drilling rings, & wells, etc.
Heavier fuels used by
large ships such as bunker
fuel, or the spill of any oily
refuse or waste oil.

effects on human include
variety of possible health
effects economic impart
as well as recreational and
aesthetic.
People living in a 2km
radius 1 to 2 weeks after
the oil spills had a high
prevalence of headache,
throat irritation, etc.

including cancer.

life get damage like

plants, & rare species.

mangroves were found
completely covered by
oil.
Almost 60-65% of the
total mangroves are
damaged.
302 hectares of
mangroves in colaba
were damaged making it
the worst affect area in
Mumbai.

 Oil spill is the type of pollution.
 it is injurious to environment therefore a proper
treatmnet should be used for its cleaning.
 Different cleaning techniques have different
characteristics and it should be used according to that.
 Oil transportation should be done in am secure
manner.
 All debris should be handled properly.
