What Role Does Ballet Play In The Swan
Ballet played an enormous role in this beautiful artistic story of The Swan, for the very simple reason
that every movement and every gesture signifies a different experience for someone who is opening
up your mind, and eyes that they re attempting to escape death. The ballet is not about a ballerina
being able to transform herself into a swan, but about death, with the swan simply being a metaphor
for that. Watching Svetlana Zakharova performing The Swan she really used a combination of
masterful technique with expressiveness. It was like she was proving that dance could and should
satisfy not only the eye, but through the medium of the eye should penetrate the soul. If you sit back,
close your eyes, and just listen to the musical tempo

Medical Center And Its Impact On The Health Care Industry
Tufts Medical Center had major problems when it comes to looking for ways as to how they could
attract patients. Another problem which the organization faced with was the collapse of the merger
agreement with the Boston Medical Center. It had certain ambitions to find partners for them to be
able to compete with their more prestigious rivals. Despite having a strong following of doctors and
patients, Tufts Medical Center was not a dominant player in the health care industry. Over the years, it
has failed to build brand recognition unlike its rivals like Massachusetts General. By 2014, Tuft
Medical Center executives decided that they would begin talking about a merger with the Boston
Medical as they wanted to create a new health system. However, the negotiations broke down months
later as the leaders from both the hospitals have discovered that they have a huge difference in culture
and strategy. It was reported that Boston wanted to focus on their low income patients but Tuft
Medical had something more striving in mind. They wanted to expand their target patients,
particularly patients who are in private insurance and they also want to attract patients across Eastern
Massachusetts (McCluskey, 2015)

Misguided Rationale
The truth is not always present in the news. Reporters make mistakes, but when that wrong
information gets to spread the problem begins. The media is in a race on putting out information. The
danger is that there is no checking to make sure the information is true. Media is in a cycle of the news
getting a hold of an alternative fact, the media spreading it, a powerful source restating the
information, and the general audience seeing that story as fact. That information can then be turned
into political policies and ideologies. When the person that are spreading the wrong facts gets
challenged with the truth, they tend to a backlash towards the critic. They refuse to admit to their
mistake deepening the misguided rationale behind their fact. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Gladstone spent the reading illustrating how false news gets spread. Facts can be giving because they
are catchy. This does not make them accurate. When a powerful source gets the fake news, that is
when there is a problem. Technology increases the likelihood of alternative facts being caught. There
is a problem when the person who spoke the information refuses to admit their mistake. Gladstone
uses the example of Lou Dobbs to show this point ( Gladstone 54). He stated that if we reported it, it s
a fact when confronted with the inaccurate numbers he used in his report. Trump does a similar
argument when confronted with his wrong information. Bill O Rielly pointed out that Trump was
wrong when he stated that thousands of Muslims were seen celebrating after 9/11. Trump refused to
admit his mistake, but instead used a Breitbart article that agreed with him as his defense (Oliver).
This shows that people are after the news the want to hear. Breitbart is not thought of as a reliable
source, but they stated Trump was correct so he used them as fact. Trump and Dobbs both did not
want to admit to their mistakes. They both saw what they said as true, even when others showed them

Hospital Information Systems Integration Plan
HOSPITAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS INTEGRATION PLAN SYSTEM PERESPECTIVE
Abstract: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is playing a vital role in every aspect of
life; and has drastically contributed in the health sector as well. It s generally agreed that the
development and use of integrated healthcare systems are becoming an absolute necessity to support
the delivery of low cost, high quality care [1]. To achieve this goal; Planning of Information System is
one of the most significant activities for Information System attainment in a large organization. This
paper presents the information systems integration plan for Hospitals operating under the Directorate
of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK). The main objective of the System integration is to specify
techniques to link all databases of different sub systems in DHSK so that the information interchange
between the sub systems is seamless. The plan shall be accomplished by applying the methodology
consisting of four steps: requirement analysis, conceptual design, systems architecture design and
system implementation. As the results of design, the databases shall definitely share many identical
data items. The presence of identical data items will allow the information update in batch processing
and will facilitate to design a common physical layer. Thus, a common XML based database
implementation along with shared assemblies is recommended to implement the databases with
identical data items, whereas, private

The Potential Causes And Possible Treatment Of Exercise...
The potential causes and possible treatment of exercise addiction
Unquestionably, physical activity complements the quality of life for an individual, while exercising
on a regular basis results in many benefits. Nevertheless despite the great benefit of sport, many
experts commonly agree that physical activity may be harmful. One of the unfavourable areas within
sport, which is frequently examined by researchers, is exercise addiction. The predominance of
exercise addiction is quite rare in reality, but when present conflicting consequences can be calamitous
(De Coverley Veale, 1987; Szabo, 2007).
Szabo (1998) proposed that those addicted to exercise will experience a more compelling withdrawal
than dedicated exercisers. A comprehensive manner to distinguish between both sets of individuals
may be through the actions and intentions for exercise of the individuals. Exercise addiction between
an athlete which is healthy and an exercise addict may be sharing very similar levels of training; the
difference is the mental approach and attitude taken by each individual. The individual addicted to
exercise is unable to see the real value in unnecessary exercise and is resolute in pursuing his sport
despite it being against his best interest.
The definition of exercise addiction is complemented by six common symptoms of exercise addiction:
mood modification, salience, withdrawal symptoms, relapse, tolerance and personal conflict (Brown,
1993; Griffiths, 2005).

Marie Curie Career Role Model
What, how and who?
Every individual needs a career role model, without being inspired by someone we wouldn t have

CAREER A career is the period that spans all the working years of our life, a career can go through

Snow Falling On Cedars Analysis
Painfully Inaccurate
The (frustratingly) accurate answer to many questions is It depends. That is because he who is
answering the question does not want to be inaccurate by lumping together data, and this is a good
thing. The answer can always apply to questions about people. One cannot generalize about a group of
people and say that every Jewish person is a niggerly penny pincher or that anyone from the South has
an interest in incest. It is just plain wrong. That is also not to say that no Jewish person is stingy and
that all Southerners have a disciplined sex life. One cannot create stereotypes from a group of people.

While some people have dropped their irrational fears, such as Lew Fielding, many continue to see the

placement is also effective by offering a change of pace from the tales of American slavery in the
1800s and the Civil Rights Era. There simply are not as many stories about the Japanese internment

Every company has an accounting cycle. An Accounting cycle is the process that begins with

Journalized and Posting Adjusting Entries Then, adjusting entries are journalized and posted to the
ledger. At the end of the accounting period the adjusting entries appearing in the work sheet are
recorded in the journal and posted to the ledger; bringing the ledger into agreement with the data
reported on the profit and loss account and balance sheet. The adjusting entries are dated as on the last
day of the accounting period, even though they are usually recorded some time later Preparing an
Adjusting Trial Balance The next step involves an adjusting trial balance being prepared. The adjusted
trial balance is prepared to verify the equality of the total of the debit and credit balances. This is the
last step before preparing the financial statements. If the adjusted trial balance does not balance, an
error had occurred and must be found and corrected. Preparing the Financial Statements The financial
statements are then prepared. The financial statement is the most important outcome of the account
cycle. In this process the income statement is prepared first, followed by the statement of owner s
equity, and then the balance sheet. The statement can be prepared directly from the adjusted trial
balance, the end of period spreadsheet, or the ledger. The net income or net loss shown on the income
statement is reported on the statement of

Neck Elongating Culture
From the beginning of time, woman have done many things to change or modify their bodies. From
getting a simple henna tattoo, to getting a major plastic surgery, woman have gone about many ways
to change themselves. Neck elongating is one of the many ways that people adjust there bodies.
Although some of these practices are very minor and the effects on them are reversible, neck
elongating is not. The practice of neck elongating in Asia has a negative impact on the community
because it leads to permanent damage, results in starting at a young age, and causes the rings to bring
self confidence. Most importantly, the practice of neck elongating has a negative impact on the

Pros And Cons Of Genetic Engineering
Since the dawn of time, humans have pondered the very roots of their existence. Through religion,
many filled the void of their origin with a creation story, but with relatively recent discoveries, the
origin of humans has been revealed. Charles Darwin s ideas on natural selection and evolution led the
way for this new facet of thought. His findings were widely rejected at first but paved the way for
more progress. Shortly after, Gregor Mendel was able to prove inheritance with pea plants. A plethora
of other discoveries throughout the twentieth century allowed for a process called genetic engineering.
But, what is genetic engineering? By manipulating the recombination of DNA, scientists are able to
change an organism. They have found that they can use viruses to inject therapeutic genes into
humans. Through this process, people are now able to control specific genes in an organism for more
desirable traits. This has been used in the industry of food, medicine, and in various other sciences.
(Britannica, Genetic Engineering )
In the farming and food industries, the utilization of genetic engineering is very common. It began in
the 1990s with cotton plants. Scientists discovered that its DNA could be manipulated to create
beneficial changes. These changes included resistance to antibiotics, resistance to herbicide and
introduction of more nutrients and vitamins ( History of Genetically Modified Foods, 2004). Also,
scientists are able to use genetic

Presidential Election Of 2016, The United States Will Be...
At the end of 2016, the United States will be holding the primary presidential elections. There are six
main democrats and fifteen main republicans who are running in the presidential election of 2016.
Among the great old partyÂŹ (GOP) presidential applicant Jeb Bush, son of former president George H.
W. Bush and brother of former President George W. Bush, should not have deemed administrating for
office on the note of his promises to this country. Other than his famous last name, Jeb Bush s yearn to
work on a certain scope of issues pertaining to education, instead of the just an overview of American
education, can potentially give him an unfavorable position in this campaign. Alongside, other
republicans doubt whether Bush is strategically capable of addressing the war in Iraq due to his
shallow analysis, and vague prescriptions of maintaining his promise to end the nuclear deal made
with Iran. An aspect of a cost effective nation needs a strong fundamental for education. When the
school children s literacy rates and number of people attending college rise, the probability of a greater
working class and nation s prosperity is highly likely. As the prior governor of Florida, Jeb Bush did a
great deal of things to improve their education, but it is exactly this fact that labels Jeb Bush as
someone incapable of running the country efficiently. It was one of the most successful education
reform stories this nation has ever seen. Florida s high school graduation rate rose by

The Hunchback of Notre-Dame Essay
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Love is a universal language. This popular quote from many movies and literary works describes the
importance of love, and how there are no limits or barriers when dealing with love. Many people
cannot even help whether or not they fall in love. There are many types of love and they need not be
between members of opposite sexes. In
Victor Hugo s novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame,
Quasimodo s love for Esmerelda is not as strong as his different sense of love for the Archdeacon,
Claude Frollo.
Quasimodo loves each person in a different manner, but is truer to the Archdeacon.
The hunchback feels, among other things, a love described as Eros for the Mistress Esmerelda;

Thus the Archdeacon was the only person with whom Quasimodo maintained communication
(p.65). The hunchback feels a sense of love based on comradery and years of relations. He deeply
admires Claude
Frollo s religious faith and charity: that is, the charity shown to Quasimodo when he was only a
young, abandoned boy.
The two men have a complex system of hand gestures and sign language which they use to
communicate with each other. This illustrates their mutual correspondence and understanding.
Through these experiences and this upbringing, Quasimodo develops a Philial love for the
Archdeacon.
In the timeframe of this story, the late 1400 s and early 1500 s, the Catholic Church is a major factor
and authority in virtually all of a town s laws, transactions and business. This being the case, holding
the position as
Archdeacon, or head of the church, is a much coveted occupation. Quasimodo admires the
Archdeacon s powerful position. The hunchback himself enjoys authority as he possesses the power of
rule over people. This is visible when he is elected Pope of Fools: Quasimodo let himself be decked
out in them with a kind of proud docility. He was then made to sit down on a brightly colored litter.
Twelve officers of the Brotherhood of Fools lifted it to their shoulders. A bitter

The study will encompass the compare and contrast of two great writers literary works. It will take
comprehensive discussion on Ben Jonson s The Alchemist and William Shakespeare s The Tempest .
Jonson and Shakespeare were contemporaries with more immediately recognizable common ground
between them than difference. They shared the same profession and brought forth their works from the
matrix of common intellectual property. They appealed to the same audience and both gained
popularity and esteem as accomplished playwrights. At the more social level, they were both
struggling artists conscious of the need for patronage and support from their wealthier and more

The distinction between I and him is emphasized by Jonson s assertion of an answer to Shakespeare s
way of doing things. The quest for self knowledge has been integral to the structures and evolution of
human society throughout history. During the early modem period, the classical maxim of nosce
teipsum operated almost universally, not only as a prompt towards, but also as a goal of, both
individual and communal achievement and actualization. At one level, Hamlet s tribute may be taken
as an adumbration of the Renaissance engagement with the epistemological enquiries into the nature
of man, and his place and function in the cosmic chain of being. What a piece of work is a man, How
noble in reason, how infinite in faculty, in form and moving how express and admirable, in action how
like an angel, in apprehension how like a god the beauty of the world, the paragon of animals. And yet
to me what is this quintessence of dust? Jonson explicitly bases their sense of the play s similarity
upon theories of comedy that imply such affirmation. In Volpone and The Alchemist, Jonson sues
irony to expose how far short of the ideal is the world of the play, and thus celebrates the ideal
indirectly. If the

woman who has the ability to enjoy a simple world of her own elaborate creation. Miss Brill is a
single woman, probably in her mid to late fifties. She lives alone in a very small space without even a

Miss Brill engages in shameless people watching. She has taken the practice of keen observation and
elevated it to an art form. Miss Brill ascribes to the notion that since we all coexist on this planet, we
are acting out our lives alongside each other, the entire world is a stage and we are all in it together.
She understands that most people do not feel quite so connected to one another and that her rose
colored glasses approach to life is not universal, but still she carries on, thriving amongst the non
believers, quietly living out her interpretation of days.
Miss Brill enjoys feeling connected not only to the people around her but also to favorite objects in
her life. She croons to her old fur stole Dear little thing! which she lovingly refers to as Little rogue!
(1) They have enjoyed many dressy days together and Miss Brill views the fur stole as her pet. While
conversing with old, stuffed garments may seem strange, she is more or less just talking to herself.
How much more would a puppy understand? Would Miss Brill appear saner if she chatted with a kitty
or perhaps a goldfish? Aside from the smashed in nose, her little stole would look quite realistic curled
up on her duck feather quilt, a furry friend looking up at its owner with fervent eyes, waiting to be
stroked, impatient to be wrapped around the shoulders of its miss, silently nipping its own tail as they
stroll to their favorite destination.

Melanocyte migration and proliferation is dependent upon exogenous peptide growth factors, which
stimulate receptors with tyrosine kinase activity(Trk) . Human keratinocytes and dermal fibroblasts
express nerve growth factor (NGF), which is an important signal for transdermal melanocyte
migration. It has been postulated that accumulated metabolite like GM1 and heparan sulfate binds
tightly to Trk receptor which enhances NGF activity leading to aberrant neural crest migration8,11.In
our patient MS was progressive in nature, which can be attributed to activation of latent melanocytes.
It has been hypothesized that metabolite Trk binding serves as a trigger to dormant melanocytes

Current research in animals are focused on using small molecule chaperones to transport functional

Class Structure In The Twelve Tables
The Twelve Tables is an ancient Roman table of laws that have shaped Roman culture and society as
we understand it. From those laws, a greater understanding of Roman life is revealed. Beyond the
rules, there is evidence of class structure, and economy. As well as family relations and power. The
Twelve Tables touch on slander and death in Roman lives.
The Twelve Tables informs on Roman class structure and Roman economy and describes prevalent
crimes in ancient Roman times and the equality of Romans. The Roman class structure involved the
patricians at the top of the social class, plebeians at the bottom of the social class. There was a divide
in the class structure with most Romans being plebeians which were the poorest social class, and very
few being patricians, the wealthy class. The Twelve Tables suggest that was a problem in the economy

The Impact Of Fair Value On Financial Reporting Essay
The most controversial topic of today s time in the world of accounting is fair value. However, one
common point of confusion is the scale of businesses affected by fair value, and when fair value came
onto the scene. According to Robert Herz and Linda MacDonald ...the use of fair value in financial
reporting is not new. In fact, it has been in place for decades, principally for financial assets. But even
then, fair value is not required for all assets. (2008) The idea of using fair value measurements goes
back at least to the 1930 s when Kenneth MacNeal wrote Truth in Accounting. It wasn t until 1993,
however, until the FASB released SFAS 115. SFAS 115 addresses the accounting and reporting for
investments in equity securities that have readily determinable fair values and for all investments in
debt securities. (FASB 1993) In 2006 the FASB released SFAS 157, which established a framework
for measuring fair value. SFAS 157 also requires significantly more disclosures about fair value
estimates than ever before. (FASB 2006) Finally the FASB issues SFAS 159, which permits entities to
choose to measure many financial instruments and certain other items at fair value. (FASB 2007)
These statements set the stage for the discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of fair value.
Also discussed, will be the problems with implementation of a full fair value measurement system.
That discussion will be followed by a brief summary.

Panacea By Dorothy Allison
Dorothy Allison s essay, Panacea, recalls the fond childhood memories about her favorite dish, gravy.
Allison uses vivid imagery to cook up a warm feeling about family meals to those who may be a poor
family or a young mother. Appeal to the senses shows this warm feeling, along with a peaceful
diction.
Before she begins the essay with the imagery, Allison adopts a persona of a mother who is formerly
poor as a child, and now middle class with a large family. This is when she describes her past in an
anecdote, and when she moves to describe cooking for her son and family. Her persona responds well
to her intended audience, who may be poor families experiencing rough times, or young mothers in
need of something to relate to.
Warm feelings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Allison uses peaceful words to build upon the dominant effect. Words such as simplest, tastiest,
memory laden, and wonderful. Wonderful is significant, because it occurs three times in the essay. She
uses it to describe Christmas, when she smells her duck gravy, and when Wolf exclaims that the gravy
is wonderful. The use of wonderful may be to signify a valuable time to Allison, her failed Christmas
goose, the scent of her perfect gravy, and the satisfying time when her son finally appreciates her
gravy. These words add to the intention of warmth using content words by showing, through speech,
the peace she feels in the time the essay takes place.
Allison does not simply say that the duck gravy tasted delicious, she describes it to show the reader
that it is indeed wonderful. She discusses the process of cooking the gravy, and talks about each
ingredient and how it appeals to all the senses. Paragraph two on page 164 is basically a paragraph
saying that her gravy is finally reminiscent of her mother s, which is delicious according to Allison.
She uses rhetorical devices as well. She asks a rhetorical question after Wolf rejects her gravy. How
could my child not like my gravy? This is saying that she does not understand how someone related to
her reject the beloved gravy. She uses zeugma when she says, Blew on the gravy to cool

In 1630, the Arbella carried Puritans from England toward the colonies. Once they had arrived, John
Winthrop took responsibility to teach the passengers the principles of a model society so the future

John Winthrop teaches the ones from the Arbella that they must keep their neighbor in mind when
saving extra. Today, most of the citizens work hard just so their family can have enough to be able to
put food on the table. Providing for their neighbor is the last thing in their minds. Some people can
barely provide for themselves let alone an entire family. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics,
the average consumer yearly expenditures was approximately $55, 978 in 2015. From $55,978, around
$29,000 come from housing and shelter. Food adds relatively $7,000, and transportation, education,
and healthcare add around $14,000 ( Consumer ). With all the expenses, the family does not have
enough to spend what is left on the ones surrounding them, so how can America help each other when
in need when they can barely help themselves? Families will prefer to fool themselves into believing
that no one needs anything just so they do not have to give from what they have, and when they do
happen to save extra, they do not plan on saving for when their neighbor needs it, they plan to save it
for when they need it. They may even save it so in the future they can splurge on an expensive item

The Brown Wasps Loren Eiseley Summary
There is no better phrase to describe a fond memory than an elusive dream . Something, that no matter
how much you struggle for can never be relived. It sits on the dual pillars of place and time, you may
conquer one but the other will always be there, to cause despair. This was the common struggle
experienced and expressed in The Brown Wasps and Once more at the lake . Throughout his essay,
Loren Eiseley describes different scenarios that he witnessed. All of which have a central theme of
change, not in times, but in the real, physical world. He talks about mice losing their little dream of
living in a burrow made in common earth, a world of seedpods and quiet, of green sheltering leaves in
the dim light among the weed stems and how they are coldly denied even the simplest of yearnings.
Later, he describes how he witnessed the figurative great river at an El in Philadelphia stop. The river

Why Do Big Data And Product Design Are All Important...
Introduction
Big data, defined as a popular term used to describe the exponential growth and availability of data
(What is Big Data? , n. d. ), has attracted considerable interest in many fields as it promises to offer a
level of analytic detail that has not been reached so far. Whilst it is often promoted as the solution to
many marketing problems, it has some significant disadvantages. Cost, data selection, problems
relating to the interpretation of the data and difficulties deciding how to apply the new knowledge to
existing products and product design are all important problems.
Situation There is a line chart above from Google Trends which illustrates the searching record (Big
Data) from 2005 to 2015.As can be seen, Big Data has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Probably, Big Data can be the future of marketing. However, there are some problems in using Big
Data because of these characteristics. If the enterprises do not know how to address problems, the
investment will be wasted while enterprises still search around in the haystack for the needle.
Therefore, some problems will be illustrated followed by the solutions for Big Data.
Problems
Firstly, the main problem is deciding which data should be selected. The data, explaining customers
desires and needs, is important to be collected while most of the enterprises are confusing about what
data they should concentrate on. A recent Gartner report (2014) stresses that 64% of firms raced to
plan or launch a Big Data project, though they did not have enough professional knowledge yet. To
understand what customers need through Big Data possibly turns into the core of companies target.
The large data volumes and different varieties of data lead to data complexity.
Secondly, the result predicted by Big Data probably may not be true at last. (MARCUS, DAVIS.
2014).This phenomenon happen frequently in many companies. Take Google Flu Trends as an
example, they predicted that the Disease Control and Protection Center was not able to control the
spread of flu quickly and effectively as time went on. Later, this conclusion was proved wrong. Hence,
it means that future prediction contains inconsistencies compared with reality.

The Implementation Of The First National Noise Abatement...
Summary
Noise is defined as unwanted sound, which can affect the human body in a number of ways. There is
evidence of high blood pressure, irritability, and lack of sleep that cause additional problems (Goines,
Hagler, 2007). In 1968, the culmination of public outcry over airport noise was enough to bring
change to national policy. The jet era was in full swing and residents whom were content with a soft
buzzing in the distance were now overwhelmed with noise that rattled windows and interrupted sleep.
As the community made complaints to their local representatives, laws were passed to try to ease the
amount of noise by jet engines. Without a federal standard, most local laws were thrown out; however,
judges ruled that airports were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although, courts did allow airfield owners to restrict types of aircraft able to land. This was a way to
limit bigger aircraft, with larger engines from landing. Yet, there still was no federal guideline or law
concerning aircraft noise.
Course of Action
Eventually in 1968, Congress delegated responsibility for aircraft noise to the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA), to regulate and prescribe standards for measuring aircraft noise and sonic
boom. This became known as the Aircraft Noise and Abatement Act (ANAA) of 1968 (ANAA, 1968).
This included aircraft weight, number of engines, and type of engines used, which categorized them
into three classes based on the level of noise produced. Stage I, was not tested or exceeded mandated
noise levels. Stage II, met noise standards for their weight and number of engines, and Stage III that
produced a lower level of noise than what was required (ANAA, 1968). An amendment to this Act,
continued to allow airport proprietors to deny the use of their airports to aircraft on the basis of noise
considerations so long as such exclusion is non discriminatory (Goldstein, 1975).
Once the ANAA was created, the FAA could no longer ignore complaints about aircraft noise and had
to work toward goals to reduce the impact of noise on citizens. Additionally, many amendments and
revisions have been implemented in the years following the ANAA. Some of these include a
requirement in 1972, to consult with the

Action potential is a fleeting reversal of the membrane potential, caused by changes in permeability of
the plasma membrane of neuron to potassium and sodium ions causing an electrical impulse to be

This is called temporary hyperpolarisation. The potassium channels then close, and the sodium
potassium pump begin to act again, restoring the normal/original distribution of sodium and potassium
ions across the membrane, and therefore restoring the resting potential. This process takes time. THE
REFRACTORY PERIOD Refractory period is the period of time during which a neuron is recovering
from an action potential, and during which another action potential cannot be generated. At this
period, the voltage gated sodium channels are still firmly closed (or temporary inactivated) and the
membrane cannot produce an action potential, regardless of the stimulation.
CONDUCTION/PROPAGATION/TRANSMISSION OF ACTION POTENTIAL An action potential
at any point along an axon s plasma membrane triggers the production of an action potential in the
membrane on either side of it. During the action potential, sodium ions enter a point on the axon. The
temporary depolarization of the membrane where the action potential is causes a local circuit to be set
between the depolarized region and the resting regions on either side of it. Sodium ions flow sideways
inside the axon, away from the positively charged region towards the negatively charged regions on
either side. This depolarizes these adjoining regions and so generates During the action potential,

Motor Maps Analysis
There are two ways to change motor maps. One is detraining which could take years of simply not
using the skill or practicing with hopes that the body forgets the motion. This is not a commonly used
method, rarely works well or completely, and most often happens to athletes who quit the sport
altogether and become commonly known as really out of practice. With detraining the first thing to go
is muscle strength. (Behrendt et al, 2014) Atrophy occurs because muscle strength is training
dependent. (Behrendt et al, 2014) After that it take a long time, years even, for the cortical nerves to be
eliminated because they are no longer helping the body. (Behrendt et al, 2014) This is where the term
like riding a bike comes from. Your brain still remembers years later how to ride a bike even if you

Teenage Wasteland By Thomas Hine
Teenagers: A Threat to Adults
A common phrase that adults can testify to hearing from any given teenager is, You don t understand!
This proves a struggle between the youth and the adults that quite possibly is never ending. Adults
make assumptions about kids, based on the way they dress, which pushes kids further and further
away. In the essay, Goths in Tomorrowland by Thomas Hine (2001), he emphasizes the beliefs that
adults began the idea of youth alienation from older societies and the teenagers keep it that way.
Donna Gaine s (2001) essay, Teenage Wasteland, discusses four teenagers who were mocked and
misunderstood by adults and reporters alike. Jon Katz (2001) lets the kids explain themselves about
their seclusion from society and the misconceptions about them in his column, More from the
Hellmouth: Kids Tell About Rage. The fear that elders show towards young people is merely a fear of
the unknown. Adults are worried about the younger generations because of their misunderstandings of
the youth culture, their failure to accept youth into the adult society, and the instigation provoked from
young people.
Misunderstanding of youth creates the gap between adults and teenagers. Many teenagers spend their
whole teen experience searching for someone to just understand them. A lot of them do not even make
it through this experience because they give up feeling that no one knows what they are going
through. Parents also fear for their kids because they do not

  • 2. What Role Does Ballet Play In The Swan Ballet played an enormous role in this beautiful artistic story of The Swan, for the very simple reason that every movement and every gesture signifies a different experience for someone who is opening up your mind, and eyes that they re attempting to escape death. The ballet is not about a ballerina being able to transform herself into a swan, but about death, with the swan simply being a metaphor for that. Watching Svetlana Zakharova performing The Swan she really used a combination of masterful technique with expressiveness. It was like she was proving that dance could and should satisfy not only the eye, but through the medium of the eye should penetrate the soul. • 3. Medical Center And Its Impact On The Health Care Industry Tufts Medical Center had major problems when it comes to looking for ways as to how they could attract patients. Another problem which the organization faced with was the collapse of the merger agreement with the Boston Medical Center. It had certain ambitions to find partners for them to be able to compete with their more prestigious rivals. Despite having a strong following of doctors and patients, Tufts Medical Center was not a dominant player in the health care industry. Over the years, it has failed to build brand recognition unlike its rivals like Massachusetts General. By 2014, Tuft Medical Center executives decided that they would begin talking about a merger with the Boston Medical as they wanted to create a new health system. However, the negotiations broke down months later as the leaders from both the hospitals have discovered that they have a huge difference in culture and strategy. It was reported that Boston wanted to focus on their low income patients but Tuft Medical had something more striving in mind. They wanted to expand their target patients, particularly patients who are in private insurance and they also want to attract patients across Eastern Massachusetts (McCluskey, 2015) Organizational Structure Systems The very first issue the organization has to address is their organizational structure and systems. • 4. Misguided Rationale The truth is not always present in the news. Reporters make mistakes, but when that wrong information gets to spread the problem begins. The media is in a race on putting out information. The danger is that there is no checking to make sure the information is true. Media is in a cycle of the news getting a hold of an alternative fact, the media spreading it, a powerful source restating the information, and the general audience seeing that story as fact. That information can then be turned into political policies and ideologies. When the person that are spreading the wrong facts gets challenged with the truth, they tend to a backlash towards the critic. They refuse to admit to their mistake deepening the misguided rationale behind their fact. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gladstone spent the reading illustrating how false news gets spread. Facts can be giving because they are catchy. This does not make them accurate. When a powerful source gets the fake news, that is when there is a problem. Technology increases the likelihood of alternative facts being caught. There is a problem when the person who spoke the information refuses to admit their mistake. Gladstone uses the example of Lou Dobbs to show this point ( Gladstone 54). He stated that if we reported it, it s a fact when confronted with the inaccurate numbers he used in his report. Trump does a similar argument when confronted with his wrong information. Bill O Rielly pointed out that Trump was wrong when he stated that thousands of Muslims were seen celebrating after 9/11. Trump refused to admit his mistake, but instead used a Breitbart article that agreed with him as his defense (Oliver). This shows that people are after the news the want to hear. Breitbart is not thought of as a reliable source, but they stated Trump was correct so he used them as fact. Trump and Dobbs both did not want to admit to their mistakes. They both saw what they said as true, even when others showed them the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Hospital Information Systems Integration Plan HOSPITAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS INTEGRATION PLAN SYSTEM PERESPECTIVE Abstract: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is playing a vital role in every aspect of life; and has drastically contributed in the health sector as well. It s generally agreed that the development and use of integrated healthcare systems are becoming an absolute necessity to support the delivery of low cost, high quality care [1]. • 7. The Potential Causes And Possible Treatment Of Exercise... The potential causes and possible treatment of exercise addiction Unquestionably, physical activity complements the quality of life for an individual, while exercising on a regular basis results in many benefits. Nevertheless despite the great benefit of sport, many experts commonly agree that physical activity may be harmful. One of the unfavourable areas within sport, which is frequently examined by researchers, is exercise addiction. The predominance of exercise addiction is quite rare in reality, but when present conflicting consequences can be calamitous (De Coverley Veale, 1987; Szabo, 2007). Szabo (1998) proposed that those addicted to exercise will experience a more compelling withdrawal than dedicated exercisers. A comprehensive manner to distinguish between both sets of individuals may be through the actions and intentions for exercise of the individuals. Exercise addiction between an athlete which is healthy and an exercise addict may be sharing very similar levels of training; the difference is the mental approach and attitude taken by each individual. The individual addicted to exercise is unable to see the real value in unnecessary exercise and is resolute in pursuing his sport despite it being against his best interest. The definition of exercise addiction is complemented by six common symptoms of exercise addiction: mood modification, salience, withdrawal symptoms, relapse, tolerance and personal conflict (Brown, 1993; Griffiths, 2005). ... • 13. Pros And Cons Of Genetic Engineering Since the dawn of time, humans have pondered the very roots of their existence. Through religion, many filled the void of their origin with a creation story, but with relatively recent discoveries, the origin of humans has been revealed. Charles Darwin s ideas on natural selection and evolution led the way for this new facet of thought. His findings were widely rejected at first but paved the way for more progress. Shortly after, Gregor Mendel was able to prove inheritance with pea plants. A plethora of other discoveries throughout the twentieth century allowed for a process called genetic engineering. But, what is genetic engineering? By manipulating the recombination of DNA, scientists are able to change an organism. They have found that they can use viruses to inject therapeutic genes into humans. Through this process, people are now able to control specific genes in an organism for more desirable traits. This has been used in the industry of food, medicine, and in various other sciences. (Britannica, Genetic Engineering ) In the farming and food industries, the utilization of genetic engineering is very common. It began in the 1990s with cotton plants. • 23. The Impact Of Fair Value On Financial Reporting Essay The most controversial topic of today s time in the world of accounting is fair value. However, one common point of confusion is the scale of businesses affected by fair value, and when fair value came onto the scene. According to Robert Herz and Linda MacDonald ...the use of fair value in financial reporting is not new. In fact, it has been in place for decades, principally for financial assets. But even then, fair value is not required for all assets. (2008) The idea of using fair value measurements goes back at least to the 1930 s when Kenneth MacNeal wrote Truth in Accounting. It wasn t until 1993, however, until the FASB released SFAS 115. SFAS 115 addresses the accounting and reporting for investments in equity securities that have readily determinable fair values and for all investments in debt securities. (FASB 1993) In 2006 the FASB released SFAS 157, which established a framework for measuring fair value. SFAS 157 also requires significantly more disclosures about fair value estimates than ever before. (FASB 2006) Finally the FASB issues SFAS 159, which permits entities to choose to measure many financial instruments and certain other items at fair value. (FASB 2007) These statements set the stage for the discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of fair value. Also discussed, will be the problems with implementation of a full fair value measurement system. That discussion will be followed by a brief summary. II. Methodology The foundation of this paper ... • 30. John Winthrop Model In 1630, the Arbella carried Puritans from England toward the colonies. Once they had arrived, John Winthrop took responsibility to teach the passengers the principles of a model society so the future generations could live well. By following these principles, the community was going to be able to survive by working together in order to ensure that the community would last. Although America started with John Winthrop s idea of a model society, this nation is no longer the community that was envisioned then because the bond between people has been broken by the racism and the selfishness of most Americans. In 1630, Puritans, led by John Winthrop, sailed on the Arbella from Boston, England to Salem, Massachusetts because they were on a holy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... John Winthrop teaches the ones from the Arbella that they must keep their neighbor in mind when saving extra. Today, most of the citizens work hard just so their family can have enough to be able to put food on the table. Providing for their neighbor is the last thing in their minds. Some people can barely provide for themselves let alone an entire family. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average consumer yearly expenditures was approximately $55, 978 in 2015. From $55,978, around $29,000 come from housing and shelter. Food adds relatively $7,000, and transportation, education, and healthcare add around $14,000 ( Consumer ). With all the expenses, the family does not have enough to spend what is left on the ones surrounding them, so how can America help each other when in need when they can barely help themselves? Families will prefer to fool themselves into believing that no one needs anything just so they do not have to give from what they have, and when they do happen to save extra, they do not plan on saving for when their neighbor needs it, they plan to save it for when they need it. They may even save it so in the future they can splurge on an expensive item that will please the family, something they do not necessarily need. The people do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because the issue is often intangible and so complex in nature, the causes of the wage gap are often difficult to pinpoint and wholly address. Moreover, there are long lasting impressions of what society thinks is normal and common practice. If policymakers and government are not willing to confront the problem, society will continue to deny the problem. • 32. The Brown Wasps Loren Eiseley Summary There is no better phrase to describe a fond memory than an elusive dream . Something, that no matter how much you struggle for can never be relived. It sits on the dual pillars of place and time, you may conquer one but the other will always be there, to cause despair. This was the common struggle experienced and expressed in The Brown Wasps and Once more at the lake . Throughout his essay, Loren Eiseley describes different scenarios that he witnessed. All of which have a central theme of change, not in times, but in the real, physical world. He talks about mice losing their little dream of living in a burrow made in common earth, a world of seedpods and quiet, of green sheltering leaves in the dim light among the weed stems and how they are coldly denied even the simplest of yearnings. Later, he describes how he witnessed the figurative great river at an El in Philadelphia stop. The river that was the lifeline of hundreds, maybe thousands of pigeons. And that it is time to move on and realise that he can t relive those moments as the figurative right to do so, has moved on to the next generation. That in this moment he can only be the father, no longer the son. • 33. Why Do Big Data And Product Design Are All Important... Introduction Big data, defined as a popular term used to describe the exponential growth and availability of data (What is Big Data? , n. d. ), has attracted considerable interest in many fields as it promises to offer a level of analytic detail that has not been reached so far. Whilst it is often promoted as the solution to many marketing problems, it has some significant disadvantages. Cost, data selection, problems relating to the interpretation of the data and difficulties deciding how to apply the new knowledge to existing products and product design are all important problems. Situation There is a line chart above from Google Trends which illustrates the searching record (Big Data) from 2005 to 2015.As can be seen, Big Data has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Probably, Big Data can be the future of marketing. However, there are some problems in using Big Data because of these characteristics. If the enterprises do not know how to address problems, the investment will be wasted while enterprises still search around in the haystack for the needle. Therefore, some problems will be illustrated followed by the solutions for Big Data. Problems Firstly, the main problem is deciding which data should be selected. The data, explaining customers desires and needs, is important to be collected while most of the enterprises are confusing about what data they should concentrate on. A recent Gartner report (2014) stresses that 64% of firms raced to plan or launch a Big Data project, though they did not have enough professional knowledge yet. To understand what customers need through Big Data possibly turns into the core of companies target. The large data volumes and different varieties of data lead to data complexity. Secondly, the result predicted by Big Data probably may not be true at last. (MARCUS, DAVIS. 2014).This phenomenon happen frequently in many companies. Take Google Flu Trends as an example, they predicted that the Disease Control and Protection Center was not able to control the spread of flu quickly and effectively as time went on. Later, this conclusion was proved wrong. Hence, it means that future prediction contains inconsistencies compared with reality. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The Implementation Of The First National Noise Abatement... Summary Noise is defined as unwanted sound, which can affect the human body in a number of ways. There is evidence of high blood pressure, irritability, and lack of sleep that cause additional problems (Goines, Hagler, 2007). In 1968, the culmination of public outcry over airport noise was enough to bring change to national policy. The jet era was in full swing and residents whom were content with a soft buzzing in the distance were now overwhelmed with noise that rattled windows and interrupted sleep. As the community made complaints to their local representatives, laws were passed to try to ease the amount of noise by jet engines. Without a federal standard, most local laws were thrown out; however, judges ruled that airports were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although, courts did allow airfield owners to restrict types of aircraft able to land. This was a way to limit bigger aircraft, with larger engines from landing. Yet, there still was no federal guideline or law concerning aircraft noise. Course of Action Eventually in 1968, Congress delegated responsibility for aircraft noise to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), to regulate and prescribe standards for measuring aircraft noise and sonic boom. This became known as the Aircraft Noise and Abatement Act (ANAA) of 1968 (ANAA, 1968). This included aircraft weight, number of engines, and type of engines used, which categorized them into three classes based on the level of noise produced. Stage I, was not tested or exceeded mandated noise levels. Stage II, met noise standards for their weight and number of engines, and Stage III that produced a lower level of noise than what was required (ANAA, 1968). An amendment to this Act, continued to allow airport proprietors to deny the use of their airports to aircraft on the basis of noise considerations so long as such exclusion is non discriminatory (Goldstein, 1975). Once the ANAA was created, the FAA could no longer ignore complaints about aircraft noise and had to work toward goals to reduce the impact of noise on citizens. Additionally, many amendments and revisions have been implemented in the years following the ANAA. Some of these include a requirement in 1972, to consult with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During resting potential, the inside of the axon is negative GRADED POTENTIAL ACTION POTENTIAL Action potential is a fleeting reversal of the membrane potential, caused by changes in permeability of the plasma membrane of neuron to potassium and sodium ions causing an electrical impulse to be transmitted along the axon. When a stimulus depolarizes the membrane, a few of the voltage gated sodium channels that are found in the neuronal plasma membrane open permitting sodium ions to pass through. Since there is much greater concentration of sodium ions outside the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is called temporary hyperpolarisation. The potassium channels then close, and the sodium potassium pump begin to act again, restoring the normal/original distribution of sodium and potassium ions across the membrane, and therefore restoring the resting potential. This process takes time. THE REFRACTORY PERIOD Refractory period is the period of time during which a neuron is recovering from an action potential, and during which another action potential cannot be generated. At this period, the voltage gated sodium channels are still firmly closed (or temporary inactivated) and the membrane cannot produce an action potential, regardless of the stimulation. CONDUCTION/PROPAGATION/TRANSMISSION OF ACTION POTENTIAL An action potential at any point along an axon s plasma membrane triggers the production of an action potential in the membrane on either side of it. During the action potential, sodium ions enter a point on the axon. The temporary depolarization of the membrane where the action potential is causes a local circuit to be set between the depolarized region and the resting regions on either side of it. Sodium ions flow sideways inside the axon, away from the positively charged region towards the negatively charged regions on either side. This depolarizes these adjoining regions and so generates During the action potential, sodium ions enter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is not a commonly used method, rarely works well or completely, and most often happens to athletes who quit the sport altogether and become commonly known as really out of practice. With detraining the first thing to go is muscle strength. (Behrendt et al, 2014) Atrophy occurs because muscle strength is training dependent. (Behrendt et al, 2014) After that it take a long time, years even, for the cortical nerves to be eliminated because they are no longer helping the body. • 41. Teenage Wasteland By Thomas Hine Teenagers: A Threat to Adults A common phrase that adults can testify to hearing from any given teenager is, You don t understand! This proves a struggle between the youth and the adults that quite possibly is never ending. Adults make assumptions about kids, based on the way they dress, which pushes kids further and further away. In the essay, Goths in Tomorrowland by Thomas Hine (2001), he emphasizes the beliefs that adults began the idea of youth alienation from older societies and the teenagers keep it that way. Donna Gaine s (2001) essay, Teenage Wasteland, discusses four teenagers who were mocked and misunderstood by adults and reporters alike. Jon Katz (2001) lets the kids explain themselves about their seclusion from society and the misconceptions about them in his column, More from the Hellmouth: Kids Tell About Rage. The fear that elders show towards young people is merely a fear of the unknown. Adults are worried about the younger generations because of their misunderstandings of the youth culture, their failure to accept youth into the adult society, and the instigation provoked from young people. Misunderstanding of youth creates the gap between adults and teenagers. Many teenagers spend their whole teen experience searching for someone to just understand them.
