Unnatural Relationships Prompted by Power
A struggle for supremacy between parent and offspring is a reoccurring theme throughout William
Shakespeare s tragedy King Lear. The play unfolds as King Lear is deciding how to divide his realm
amongst his three daughters. Lear s two eldest daughters, Goneril and Regan, flatter their father with
elaborate speeches of love hoping to inherit the largest piece of land. Unknown to Lear, his daughter s
so called unconditional love for him is nothing more than an attempt to possess dominance over the
kingdom. Consequently, an unnatural relationship between father and daughters is created due to the
pursuit of power. The first sign that Lear s daughters desire control is observable in Regan s dialogue
in act one scene one. After Goneril appeals her love for Lear Regan replies, I am made of that self
mettle as my sister / And prize me at her worth. In my true heart / I find she names my very deed of
love; / Only she comes too short (lines 76 79 page 11). Here Regan claims that her and Goneril are the
same, yet Goneril s love is not as worthy as Regan s. Both daughters are competing against each other
in order to obtain the most amount of land. As a result, an abnormal relationship is formed because the
daughter s drive to love their father should not be based on material possessions. Goneril s and Regan
s motivation is the control they will receive in deceiving their father with false love. Additionally, the
concept of unnaturalness between daughters and father due to being

The U.K. is closely related to America in a sense with the same issues in the youth. Childhood fun
never depended on technology until around the 2000 s. Childhood used to be about wishful thinking,
imagination, and mud pies! In this generation the children fear that Earth will end by the time they

Small But Powerful Ad Analysis
Advertisements have transformed alongside the technology revolution by using computer graphics
(CGI) to draw in the consumer. Tide s Small but Powerful commercial uses CGI to create hyperbole as
a humorous addition to some facts about the product in order to gain the attention of its viewers.
Celebrities can be used in a similar way to make a connection with the audience by showing a familiar
and popular face. While the use of celebrities and hyperbole draw in the consumer and make this
commercial more memorable, they also provide a platform to that connects the audience to the
product, Pods. In this advertisement, Tide uses Simone Biles, a well known Olympic gymnast, as an
advocate of the product, Pods. With the backdrop of a female narrator, Simone makes lockers fall, the
ground shake and performs other physics defying acts with the help of CGI, all to prove the point that
small things can be powerful too. The creators use the 4 8 Olympian as an advocate, comparing her

In a journal by Mark A. Callister and Lesa A. Stern, they say that in recent years, depicting people,
products, and objects in ways that far exceed their capability is a common strategy used to gain
attention, inject humor, and emphasize product attributes. The commercial producers are trying to use
this technique to show that even though the pods are only a fraction of the size of normal detergent, it
gets the job done even better than the alternative. The commercial is metaphorically comparing
Simone s small stature to the modest size of each pod. Exaggerating Simone s physical skills, in turn
creates the thought in each viewer s mind that this good will similarly outperform its capabilities on
their clothes. Mark and Lesa s study suggests that these kind of hyperbolic commercials are more
powerful than ones that do not use this persuasion

Essay about Moliere s Tartuffe
The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword The most forceful lines of a serious moral statement are usually
less powerful than those of satire, and nothing will reform most men better than the depiction of their
faults (Moliere s preface to Tartuffe). Jean Baptiste Poquelin Moliere s play Tartuffe caused much
controversy on its release upon the reigning king of France at that time. This comedy of greed, lust,
deceit, hypocrisy, devotion, ardor, and truth had to be rewritten three times before the clergy approved
it for public viewing. It especially angered a group called The Brotherhood, which was dedicated to
the preservation of very strict religious observances. Moliere was merely finding a way to express his
thoughts about several attitudes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A classic example of this was when she clearly tells the rest of her son s family that Tartuffe practices
precisely what he preaches and is a fine man. She goes on to say that she will not hear Tartuffe be
mocked by fools such as the family members whose company she is in. These examples relate to
Moliere s time, because the Clergy at that time were using the veil of religion to cover up intentions,
which were not religion at all, abusing the power that they were given. Absolute power corrupts
absolutely. In Moliere s Tartuffe, the abuse of power was a theme that was very prevalent in the play,
as well as in, Moliere s society at that time as well. One of the main aspects that this play focuses on is
Orgon s desire to preserve control in his family. As the patron to his family, he feels powerful and
benevolent. One of the ways he further extends this responsibility he feels he has, he supports Tartuffe
as well, financially, emotionally, by any means possible. Ordon thinks in helping Tartuffe, he is
helping himself, but ironically, it will only hurt him in the end. Another problem in Moliere s time was
that of hiding behind absolute power as a shield. The father of the family, in Tartuffe, had absolute
power over his daughter s choice of marriage partner. The minute he feels insecure, after his family
scolds him about Tartuffe, he arranges his daughter to be married to him, just because he has the
power to do that. That was the problem

Toxic Traditions In The Lottery
Toxic Traditions
Tradition is not always the best thing, despite what most people might think. In the story The Lottery
we have an example of a toxic tradition. A toxic tradition would be something that has been passed on
from generation to generation, and the meaning of this tradition is then lost over the years. The Lottery
explores the topics of tradition, rebelling against the system, and mob mentality. The way the story is
written is meant to shock the reader when they realize what it means to win the lottery. The reader is
an outsider to the town and can see what s wrong about the whole tradition, despite the blindness of
the townspeople.
In The Lottery, we see a small town that follows tradition a little too closely. The tradition ... Show

However, when she is introduced, it s almost as if she s being set apart from the other citizens. She
arrives late, and is more lighthearted than the others, joking with Joe Summers. His response is almost
foreshadowing the ending, saying Thought we were going to have to get on without you, Tessie. (par.
9) The opposition to the lottery in the play is quite obvious compared to the silent resignation of Tessie
in the short story. In the play, the stage directions help to show how uncomfortable Tessie truly is with
the lottery. Tessie: (with forced pleasantness) Wouldn t have me leave my dishes in the sink, would
you Joe? (page 111) This line shows that Tessie does not want any part in the lottery. The play also
shows Bill Hutchison taking Tessie aside and confronting her about hiding Dave. This action shows
how seriously he, and probably many of the other people in town, take the lottery compared to Tessie s
passive rebellion. In the play there is also the character Belva Summers, who outright opposes the
lottery. She calls the lottery a heathen custom (page 108) Joe and Belva blame each other for their
brother leaving town. Belva blames Joe for it, because he organizes the lottery, and Joe blames Belva
for it, because she s the one who turned their brother around and made him oppose the lottery. They do
not seem to have a very good relationship because of this conflict. Belva seems to believe

the define phase, the company did not collect and analyze customer opinions and preferences, despite
one of the deep purpose of the project being to improve customer satisfaction. As such there is little
evidence to prove whether the project goals were in line with user requirements or not. Besides, after
the team set up the project goals, an in frame/out of frame analysis was established to manage the
scope of the project from the information technical (IT) and branch operations perspective. This was
done to establish what was within direct control of the team and what was not. However, from a
business perspective, they did not have a clear and reachable plan for the project time period, and no

Effects Of The Halo Effect
The contrast effect where it is assumed that the recruiter is not able to delegate his work because he
told them that he is a perfectionist. The contrast effects deals with the fact the you evaluate people by
their characteristics that was observed recentlyduring the interview and now the recruit has been judge
on his comment on his personal character as a perfectionist that heis not good in delegating his work.
This is only a perception and maybe totally not true and this perceptual error could lead to the fact that
this recruit does not get the job.The characteristic of someone that is able to define their weakness is
looked at as a positive attribute of a candidate, and thus recruiters make direct comparisons of
different candidates by directly comparing them on just this one criteria.
The Halo effect affects recruiters perceptions. Because of an avalanche in resumes Worldwide Panel
LLC received for the four vacancies, the officials rejected numerous applicants just by asking them
What is your greatest weakness? . The recruiters formed an overall impression from the applicants
responses and used that impression to bias ratings about them. For example, the one with the answer I

Change everyday business practices to become more resilient.
Incorporate climate risk assessment in to capital expenditure and balance sheets.
Institute policies to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
Introduction: Climate change is a real issue that can lead to severe economic losses to the public and
private sectors of the U.S., not mentioning human casualties. This report focuses on the general effects
of the climate change in the economic sector affecting businesses specifically in the Southeastern
region of the U.S. and Texas. Climate change will cost millions of dollars in labor productivity
decline, energy demand will significantly increase, and the agricultural sector will suffer considerably
losses.
General Trends
The southeastern United States and Texas will face significant economic risks from the continuous
climate change. The risks vary from different states, which will be explained in general. Texas is going
to be focused deeply in separate. Despite the variability in each region, we can identify some general
trends in how the states in the southeastern United States and Texas will react to the climate change.
Increasing heat: the southeastern region of the U.S. is more likely to have a considerably rise in
temperature than any other region of the nation. Residents may have two to four times more days with

The Second Branch Of The Mabinogi And Sir Orfeo Use...
In Medieval Literature, a variety of borders are often used to serve different purposes but mainly to
advance the plot through border crossings. The purpose of this essay is to consider the extent to which
the authors of The Second Branch of the Mabinogi and Sir Orfeo use borders and border crossings to
advance the text through a consideration of geographical, political and spiritual borders. The Second
Branch of the Mabinogi relies mostly on the constant and unresolvable political border throughout the
whole text to frame the story and drive the actions, whereas Sir Orfeo uses the physical, political and
spiritual border in equal weighting in order to advance the plot.
The political border in The Second Branch of the Mabinogi exists to ... Show more content on

This is later shown when a messenger of Matholwch relays that, He wishes to unite your two families,
lord [...] he wishes to join together the Island of the Mighty and Ireland (p. 23). Although this places
an emphasis on unity between the two countries, the political barrier is still present because it is not
until That answer was taken to Matholwch (p. 23) that he entered Wales. In this way, the political and
geographical borders are tied together because the political situation between the countries dictates the
crossing of the geographical border. A further instance of this is when Branwen sends a bird with a
message to cross the sea from Ireland to Wales. This results in The men of the Island of the Mighty
coming over, having heard of my punishment and dishonour (p. 29) because of their long standing and
unresolved political tension. Thus, the political border is the most important as it explains why the
physical borders were crossed. This is contrasted in Sir Orfeo where the geographical border results in
a newly formed political border. The physical border between the Faërie Kingdom and the Kingdom
of Orfeo is discovered as being Under a fair ympe tree , where the Queen was abducted and taken to
the Faërie Kingdom. The discovery of this location allows Orfeo to attempt to prevent the second and
final abduction of his wife. Orfeo attempts this by

Grief And Loss
Given the emotional bond most of us share with our animals, it s only natural to feel devastated and

although the emotional aspect is generally understood, society often forgets how tremendously

Summary Of Paris Paris Journey Into The City Of Light By...
After reading the book Paris, Paris, Journey into the City of Light, by David Downie, the vision that I
have created in my mind was very different from Downie s perspective. It made me realized that the
city of Paris has come a long way since the Revolutionary War to be the city it is today. Many of us
thinks that Paris is this beautiful city that is full of lights, luxurious brands, and tourist attractions.
However, we don t fully acknowledge the history and knowing why it is the way it is today. And by
reading this book, it gives travelers a little background information and a little more appreciation to
each of the sites that are mentioned.
One particular chapter that has captured my attention was Sidewalk Sundae: What makes Paris Paris.

That was silly of me. I found the history of Coco Chanel was amazing. She was just an ordinary lady

mentioned Coco was a social outcast from the provinces and came to rule Paris society and almost
single handedly revolutionized the way women around the world dressed, smelled, and behaved
(Downie, 112). Throughout the chapter, Downie described Chanel s history, her love life, and how she
had become a celebrity during her time. During Chanel s life, she has gone through quite a few
boyfriends. Each one of them helped her advanced in her career. For example, Étienne Balsan, he was
Chanel s first famous lover. He had offered finance for Coco. Although it was Balsan that got her out

The Pros And Cons Of Doping In Sports
Ethical reflection is deemed as being very important in the world of sport. Doping for instance,
although athletes resort to this. It has many ethical objections and is portrayed negatively as numerous
faults are argued about this case.
Doping in sport, is arguably, the most talked about and controversial issue today, with very little
change on it. Although, there has been a substantial increase in the use of it, (Dimeo, 2013) states Anti
doping regulations were only established in the 1960 s, and serves as a useful reminder of an
important but neglected fact about drug use. There is a consistent dispute against doping as, it
fluctuates through all sports and have been demonised by society as it is considered as unethical. The
International Association of Athletics (IAAF) was the first international sports federation, in 1928, to
ban performance enhancing drugs (IAAF, 2003). Followed by the World Anti Doping Agency
(WADA) and The International Olympic Committee (IOC). An athletes engagement in competing is
very important. It is their desire to gain any possible advantage to have an edge on their opponents and
will do anything in their power to be the best. Doping is discriminated due to, being an unequal
playing field and being harmful. This study explores the strengths and weaknesses of these ethical
objections and the sociological theories on the use of drugs in sport.
A common argument against doping in sport shifts from the concept that, there should be a level
playing field for athletes and competition. A connection between doping and wrongness is noticeable
as, it is argued that doping is banned because it is cheating or unfair (Meller, Waddington and
Hoberman, 2015). In some cases, doping in sports is cheating because the athlete is breaking their
contractual obligations, in sports that it is prohibited. (Green, 2004 and Schermer, 2006) define
cheating as being the intentional violation of a rule, that is used in common language as an indication
to many different forms of deception, and fraud that are intended to gain some benefit for oneself.
Cheating essentially involves the intent to gain an unfair advantage (Feezell, 2010). Unfair in the
sense that the athlete has gained themselves a greater

Vices Of Consent Analysis
Vices of consent represent a distinct juridical institution, because they are placed between the lack of
will and a free, conscious consent, which is able to produce exactly that juridical effects perused
through the conclusion of the act. Otherwise, the intervention of the vices will affect the internal will
and, finally, the consent, but not so powerful that makes it non existent, but it will harm the consent in

Why does society s conception of vice shift over time? Which social and cultural factors lead to
reassessments of the moral blameworthiness inherent in the concept of vice? This article considers
these questions and argues that, because vice both represents and results from moral ambivalence, it is
distinguishable from the concept of crime; vice is continually subject to reevaluation. Attitudes toward
vice are thus inherently unstable. Further, moral ambivalence varies, depending upon how the
particular characteristics of a vice map on to basic cultural values. 2 Values are often inconsistent with
one another and drift over time in their perceived importance, taking on different significance from
one decade to the next. Society s evaluation of social policies regarding vice are heavily influenced by
these shifting values and and, thus, limit the possibility of rational and scientific policy analysis
Because vice implies moral ambivalence, its conduct norms are especially subject to change. Shifting
definitions of vices are often interpreted as a function of political affiliation and preference, rather than
cultural contradiction. Experience, however, suggests otherwise (Winter ,1988). Cigarette smoking is
considered a substantial public health problem and the main global cause of preventable death that is
also affecting young people (WHO,

Mathematics and music played far reaching roles in his life and essentially shaped his personality.
Since a young age, Oliver has shown an yearning interest in mathematics and his enthusiasm was
recognized by his mother who advised him to become an actuary. During the career class in year 10,
Oliver attempted a career quiz and that found actuarial studies to be the right choice. Because of the

Solution And Responding Alternative Dispute Resolution
Reporting and Responding
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is defined by the National Alternative Dispute Resolution
Advisory Council (NADRAC) as an umbrella term for processes, other than judicial determination, in
which an impartial person assists those in a dispute to resolve the issues between them . There are six
key processes involved in ADR, one of which is mediation. Mediation is one of the most common
forms of alternative dispute resolution. In Australia, ADR is the predominant way of resolving
disputes and which therefore signifies the importance of students studying this subject in their law
degree. Furthermore it is argued that without a compulsory ADR subject, Universities are

It also improved my knowledge, the steps involved and furthermore gave me confidence in
participating in a mediation process. However, when reflecting on the role play, question is raised to
whether my experience of the mediation role play was consistent with mediation literature. The
philosophy of mediation revolves around themes and features which set mediation apart from the
other forms of dispute resolution. Three themes that arose during this assessment, which assist in
proving that the role play was consistent with mediation literature, include empowerment,
communication and voluntariness.

Personal skills, experience and knowledge can be negative and/or positive contributing factors when
participating in a mediation role play. I knew that in order to succeed in this assessment I would need
a thorough knowledge and understanding of the mediation process. For this reason, I spent a
significant amount of time learning about each step of the process such as the mediation opening,
parties opening statements, agenda, private caucus, agreement, along with others. Myself and my
other group member, playing the role of the client, were also given a personal list of facts regarding
our situation. It was essential for me to know and understand these facts in a thorough manner in order

Investigating And Writing About The Ashanti People
For my research paper, I am going to be investigating and writing about the Ashanti people. The
Ashanti people inhabit what is today Ghana, West Africa, with their capital city being Kumasi. I am
interested in this subject because I spent four weeks of this summer in Ghana. While I spent most of
my time with the Fante people on the coast, we toured Manhyia Palace in Kumasi and I was instantly
intrigued by the Ashanti culture. I also personally know an Ashanti that has moved to the United
States, which makes me all the more interested to explore how globalization, as defined by Manfred
Steger, has shaped her life and culture. The issues that I am going to be investigating in this paper are
ones that I have had first hand experience with: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ghana was called The Gold Coast until its independence was gained from the British in the 1900s, due
to the abundance of gold. This, along with the eventual slave trade was a catalyst for the arrival of
Europeans in the area in 1471. The Ashanti Empire was founded in 1697 by King Osei Tutu I. At its
height, the Ashanti Empire was incredibly rich and powerful, larger than modern day Ghana, and even
had European advisors. Dress was extravagant, rituals were important, and courts, tax systems, and
military organizations were all being employed. Yet, as is the case with many African nations around
this time, conflict with Europeans eventually arose. The first conflict between the Ashanti and
Europeans was with the British, and it occurred in 1824. The Ashanti emerged victorious with the
death of the British governor. During the second conflict with the British, the Ashanti were defeated
and Kumasi was captured. The near fall of the Ashanti Empire came in 1896, when the Ashanti were
defeated by the British and King Prempeh was exiled to the Seychelles. After this, the Ashanti
attempted one last attack on the British fort, spurred on by the disrespect they were being shown by
the British governor, but they were ultimately defeated. However, many of the traditions and cultural
aspects of the ancient Ashanti s still exist today.
Art and language are two ways in which Ashanti culture has been preserved

Compare Sonnet 130 by Shakespeare and the Glasgow Sonnet by
Edwin Morgan.
Poetry has many forms and styles of which it can be written and emphasised in. A sonnet is one of
these forms. They mainly consist of fourteen lines, but can be set out in two different ways.
One of two styles of sonnet is Elizabethan. William Shakespeare is an example of a poet and writer of
this time period, and possible one of the most recognised for his work. William Shakespeare wrote an
astounding 144 sonnets within his life time. The majority of these sonnets were mainly based upon
love or insincere compliments. The
Elizabethan sonnets are usually of the lyrical in content and differ in structure. This indefinably differs

Right through this sonnet Shakespeare keeps picking and making fun of every aspect of his wife s
looks. The way in which this is done by
Shakespeare is by firstly mentioning something that is of natural beauty and then saying that his wife
is the complete opposite. An example in which Shakespeare does this is when he says if snow be
white, why then her breasts are dun . He is saying that his mistress s breasts are far from being snow
white.
Shakespeare carries on with this negative imagery, he moves away from the visual side and goes onto
the senses of hearing and smelling.
Shakespeare says that her breath reeks and that her voice is far from being musical, so she is hard to
talk to.
The whole tone of this sonnet is ironic. Shakespeare keeps talking about all her let downs when it
comes to beauty and so compares it to something wonderful but then always brings it down.
Shakespeare unlike other poets would usually say great things about there partners, so would describe
them to such things as the sun. Shakespeare clearly loves this woman and so they are able to play
about. This is why the tone of this sonnet is light hearted and the imagery is devout and non figurative
in quality.
The imagery is about life and possessions. To set the mood there is definitely a great dependence on
the sound effects to have that slight

Mr Taro Research Paper
Long time ago in Ancient Japan, there lived a 10 years old Japanese boy named Taro. Taro was a

believed that one day he will be a samurai. His dream was to be a samurai and serve for Japan. Taro
would use household items and kitchen items to replicate the Samurai armors. He pretend to fight and
it was his favorite thing to do.
About ten years later, Taro had an opportunity to achieve his dream. Nobled were eager to protect the
lands and enforce laws so they formed armies of Samurai warriors. When the Emperor of Japan
announced to the citizens of Japan that they would be recruiting samurais, Taro volunteered to serve.
Nobles gave land to Taro and others samurais willing to fight for them. Taro was excited that he, a boy

How to Enjoy Cleaning Your Bedroom Essay
The hardest thing for a lot of students is keeping a clean bedroom. It can be very intimidating to clean
your bedroom, especially if its been a a disaster for quite some time. You may find yourself getting
overwhelmed and asking yourself where should you even start? Well in my experience I have had the
best results just by following three very simple steps, which include creating a good cleaning
environment, getting organized, and finally polishing everything up.
First and foremost before you begin cleaning; you need to create a good cleaning environment. You
can do this by simply putting on any music that you enjoy listening to; I recommend something that
you can sing along with. This will help to distract you from the ... Show more content on

In order to get organized; you need to get rid of any unwanted items that are laying around, such as
garbage, dirty dishes, and of course dirty clothes. Once you get all of these items in their designated
spots, you will be left with only the items that actually belong in your bedroom. From there you would
begin to start putting these remaining items in their proper place. I would suggest to start with folding
all of your clothes and getting them put away in either your dresser or closest because your clothes
often times take up the most space. Then you can focus on all of the other random things that are
scattered about.
Since you have everyting picked up and put in its proper place, you can start on the final step, which
consists of all the polishing and finishing touches. This is when you would get your cleaning products
ready because now all there is left to do is dust, sweep, and make your bed. It is very important that
you remember to dust and clean all the surfaces before you begin to sweep. If you decide to sweep
first, then once you start dusting you will only get more dust and dirt on the floor and therefore have to
sweep a second time. One last finishing touch that I personally like to do once the polishing is finished,
is light a candle. That way it will hide the smell of any cleaning products you may have used and your
room will

Comparison of symbolism of kites in the Kite Runner and Master Harold and the boys
I am going to compare the symbolism of the kite in the play Master Harold and the boys by Athol
Fugard and in the novel The Kite Runner by Khaled Hossseini. Firstly I will talk about the symbolism
in both of the books separately. And then I will compare them to see the similarities and the
differences. The kite symbol has two different meanings. In the Kite Runner the kite represents kite
fighting and the blue kite that was the last opponent was the key to Baba s heart. In Master Harold and
the boys the kite is used to cheer up Hally when he was embarrassed by his farther. In the novel the
kite was made by a professional and in the play it is made by Sam. ... Show more content on

When Hally got to the top of the hill Sam moved down the hill a bit and held the kite up. The reason
of that was because a black man was not allowed to be in the same park as a white person. Sam
shouted Hally to go. This was the signal for Hally to run. Hally was impressed the kite was flying and
looping in the air. Hally couldn t believe it. At last he felt happy again and was proud to have Sam as a
friend. It works, Sam! We ve done it! This quote shows how Hally is now happy again and Sam had
succeeded in his job of making Hally feel better.
The kite represents sad moments in the play. When Sam and Hally were flying the kite they tied it to a
bench where they could sit and watch it fly. Sam had to leave but I wanted him to stay . This shows
that Hally wants to share his happy moments with Sam. The problem is that in 1950 in South Africa
rules were different and a black man was not allowed to sit on the same bench as a white man. It was
sort of sad to bring it down . This explains that the idea of the kite flying in the air got him into a
fantasy world and now that the kite is on the ground he is back in the reality.
Hally asks Sam if they should do it again, make another kite and enjoy the moments as they shared
last time. But Sam said No. You can t fly kites on rainy days which mean you can t be happy when
you re sad.
In The Kite Runner the kite does not always symbolize happiness also it shows cowardice and
betrayal. It shows that

Rhetorical Language In Apollo 11
What I will be doing in this essay is using all my knowledge of rhetorical language and analyze four
pieces of literature. Over the past weeks I have learned many skills and what makes up a good
persuasive piece and what doesn t make a good persuasive piece and I will put all my knowledge
about rhetoric language to use. The four pieces I will be analyzing are all related to the Apollo 11
mission, which took place in 1969 which put humans on the moon for the first time,I will discuss the
purpose, how it adjusts to their own audience they are trying to appeal to, how the speaker and subject
affects the text, how it appeals to pathos, ethos, and logos , and finally if it is effective in
accomplishing its purpose.
The first text I will be analyzing is a news article from the Times of London reporting the event. It was
made right after the moon mission on a 5 a.m. edition of the paper. The landing of the shuttle was at
3:39 a.m.and Neil Armstrong took his first steps at 3:56 a.m. so the newspaper was made shortly right
after. It was made for the citizens of London to give more information about the Apollo 11 mission
and moon landing and talked about all the big things that happened. The speaker, occasion, and
subject all effect the text by making it informational and providing the citizens with the big
information that happened. It got into people s emotions by creating hype and making it seem like a
huge deal with starting off with the details and getting more intense with

Summary Of On Being A Cripple By Nancy Mair
Often in today s world individuals worry about being politically correct. When being politically
correct one must merely not offend or disadvantage any group in our society. If a person wants to
avoid being called offensive or rude their opinion must never oppose another and always remain
correct in the other s eyes, which is impossible if someone wants to speak their mind or communicate
in today s politics. The point being made is that everyone has their own opinion. Today I will be

The Corruption Of Macbeth In William Shakespeare s Play
Background
Williams Shakespeare is known as the greatest playwright the English language has ever known. He
was born in April of 1564 as the eldest of nine children. His parents were John and Mary Shakespeare.
He went to school to learn the Latin language, and became an apprentice to his father when he was
fifteen years old. When Shakespeare was eighteen, he married Anne Hathaway and had three children,
two of which were twins. In 1590, he moved to London to begin his dream of acting and playwriting.
Macbeth was one of the best known tragedy plays that was composed in 1606 1607. It is based on the
Scottish king MacBeth who lived from 1005 1057. One of Shakespeare s shortest works, it is known
as the most violent play with over 100 references to bloodshed. It is his most violent portrayal of how
lust for power can corrupt one s soul. The progression is dilemma, wronged choice, suffering,
perception, death, and restoration to order. Macbeth lives on to be one of Shakespeare s greatest
works.

been given authority at one time to open it. Although Romanelli did not win his case against Citibank,
he does have a couple of remedies against Schor. These include the ability to seek damages from
Schor for the amount that Schor had embezzled. Romanelli could also fire Schor for breach of duty.

The Influence Of Jazz Music
Jazz is one of few purely American art forms. Its creation came out of the southern United States and
the social conditions associated with the relationship between the white and African American
communities there (Larson 1). African American musicians in particular were the key proponents in
the development of jazz in the early 20th century. The creation and shaping of jazz music came from a
combination of the musical styles of spirituals, the blues, ragtime, and Western European classical
music (Larson 37 38). Although jazz originated from these four styles, defining jazz itself cannot be
done so plainly. Since its origin, jazz has continued to progress and branch out into a wide variety of
musical styles and genres. At its root, jazz is about the individual expression of the musician (Larson
2). John Coltrane was one of many musicians that used jazz as this medium. Through his early works
in the bebop and hard bop styles to free form and more spiritual styled music later in his career,
Coltrane pursued deeper expression from his music (Wikipedia). John Coltrane s upbringing and early
interest in music led to a successful career of highly innovative works that have left a lasting legacy
and influence on the jazz community.
John William Coltrane was born September 23, 1926 in Hamlet, North Carolina. His family moved to
High Point, North Carolina shortly after his birth and would remain there throughout his childhood.
Coltrane s family embraced music and it became an

Corporate Strategy Of Walt Disney Company
Walt Disney s massive company, which embodies theme parks, resorts, movies, and television, slowly
sprouted from less than birth of Mickey Mouse. The Walt Disney began its franchise reign of the
entertainment industry in 1928 with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse made its debut in select short
films, the most notable being Steamboat Willie (Gamble 2014). Since then, even decades after Walt
Disney s actual death in 1966, Mickey Mouse has been the central icon around the world for this
organization dedicated to bringing fantasy into the realm of reality. The Disney Company has been
able to successfully incorporate the famous mousey emblem into to the ever changing culture as a
universal sign of quality entertainment for children and adults alike. Additionally, multiple product
lines that have spun off of Mickey s reputation combined with a transnational strategy have facilitated
the organization to swell from a small animation studio to one of the most widely recognized and
highly acclaimed trademarks worldwide.
The differentiation of Disney s product lines has been a key component to the company s surmounting
accomplishments. Hotels, resorts, cruise lines, theme parks, and the beloved live action and animation
films with their respective characters are the fundamental attractions for the organization. Other lines
comprise of music, television broadcasting and production, live theatrical productions, children s
books publications, interactive media, and retail consumer

Encourage Abstinence
For years the government of many nations have tried without success to stop illegal drug trade, sex
slave rings, and violence between nations. Nh at Hanh brings up a very interesting point, would it not
make more sense to fund wholesome, clean, nourishment for our mind, body, and soul. Would it not
be more fruitful for the government to provide alternatives to drugs and violence, and encourage
abstinence? If we want to restore balance to the world we must first transform personal pain, suffering,
and loneliness through the acts of mindful consumption, encouraging international communication
and understanding, oneness of body and mind, giving of oneself, generosity towards others, and
reverence and respect for all living things. If we want to

Organizational Behavior, Leadership, And Leadership
In any organization, it s extremely important for the people in leadership roles to possess a strong
leadership role. According to the text Organizational Behavior, leadership is the process of developing
ideas and a vision, living by values that support those ideas and that vision, and influencing others to
embrace them in their own behaviors, and making hard decisions about humans and other resources
(Hellriegel Slocum, 2011). Regardless of what type of leader an individual is, their main goal is to
lead an organization s employees to the desired goal. Each leader is different, and may approach how
they get employees to achieve the organization s goals in a number of different manners. Three
extremely popular leadership styles that are found in organizations around the globe are Transactional,
Transformational, and Authentic leadership. Transactional leadership focuses on results, conforms to
the existing structure of an organization and measures success according to that organization s system
of rewards and penalties (online.stu.edu). In an organization a transactional leader will attempt to
improve employee performance by motivating their employees to achieve goals through reward based
performance. So an employee who is performing at a high level will be rewarded, while the employee
exhibiting poor performance will be punished accordingly. There are both benefits and drawbacks to a
leader using the transactional leadership style. One of the most

Subcutaneous Immunotherapy
Allergen immunotherapy is the only disease modifying treatment available for several common
allergic diseases. Subcutaneous immunotherapy is the best studied form of AIT and is effective for
allergic rhinitis and rhinoconjunctivitis, allergic asthma, and Hymenoptera venom allergy.
Subcutaneous immunotherapy involves the repeated subcutaneous injection of increasing amounts of
allergen beginning with very small doses of allergen and gradually increasing to higher doses. Another
popular method of Allergen immunotherapy involves sublingual administration in the form of
dissolvable tablets or extracts

generated, which produce IL 10 and transforming growth factor beta (TGF beta), cytotoxic T
lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA 4), and program death molecule 1 (PD1). These cytokines suppress
proliferative and cytokine responses against major allergens. IL 10 reduces proinflammatory cytokine
release from mast cells, eosinophils, and T cells, and elicits tolerance in T cells by means of selective
inhibition of the CD28 costimulatory pathway. The transcription factor forkhead box protein 3
(FOXP3) is required for the development and function of naturally occurring T regulatory cells, and
its expression is sufficient to convert nonregulatory CD4+CD25+ T cells into T cells with regulatory
activity. FOXP3 expression negatively correlates with levels of IgE, eosinophilia,

Patrick Henry s Speech To The Second Convention
As Benjamin Franklin once said, They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary
safety deserve neither liberty nor safety . In Benjamin Franklin s quote is saying that if someone gives
up the necessary liberty to receive safety that means they do not deserve neither safety nor liberty.
Safety can be defined as the state of being safe; freedom from the occurrence or risk of injury, danger,
or loss. It can also be defined as the quality of averting or not causing injury, danger, or loss. In
modern day safety is prominent in the society, safety has even been questioned in today s society. The
ones who are responsible for protecting the citizens and keeping them safe have been coming under a
lot of speculation lately. In history ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Patrick Henry s Speech it has a lot of good points about safety. In Patrick Henry s speech Mr.Henry
says Three million of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, in such a country as that which we
possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. This part of Mr.Henry s
speech relates to the American Ideal of Safety because it shows how the citizens were not protected
they were not given liberty. They were not given any kind of safety from their leaders they were being
killed and fought against by the people who were supposed to protect them. In a different part of
Mr.Henry s speech , he said These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to
which kings resort. This part of Mr.Henry s speech relates to the American Ideal of Safety because this
quote relates to the ideal of Safety because it shows how the people are willing to start war because of
the people that were supposed to protect them. One other part of this very famous speech closely
relates to the American Ideal of Safety. It reads Has Great Britain any enemy, in this quarter of the
world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for
us; they can be meant for no other. This closely relates to the American Ideal of Safety because it
shows how these people have came to the quarter of the world and are no longer safe. Great Britain is
treated them completely wrong they have even killed some of their own. Overall the American Ideal
of Safety can be demonstrated throught

  • 2. Unnatural Relationships Prompted by Power A struggle for supremacy between parent and offspring is a reoccurring theme throughout William Shakespeare s tragedy King Lear. The play unfolds as King Lear is deciding how to divide his realm amongst his three daughters. Lear s two eldest daughters, Goneril and Regan, flatter their father with elaborate speeches of love hoping to inherit the largest piece of land. Unknown to Lear, his daughter s so called unconditional love for him is nothing more than an attempt to possess dominance over the kingdom. Consequently, an unnatural relationship between father and daughters is created due to the pursuit of power. The first sign that Lear s daughters desire control is observable in Regan s dialogue in act one scene one. After Goneril appeals her love for Lear Regan replies, I am made of that self mettle as my sister / And prize me at her worth. In my true heart / I find she names my very deed of love; / Only she comes too short (lines 76 79 page 11). Here Regan claims that her and Goneril are the same, yet Goneril s love is not as worthy as Regan s. Both daughters are competing against each other in order to obtain the most amount of land. As a result, an abnormal relationship is formed because the daughter s drive to love their father should not be based on material possessions. Goneril s and Regan s motivation is the control they will receive in deceiving their father with false love. Additionally, the concept of unnaturalness between daughters and father due to being ... • 6. Essay about Moliere s Tartuffe The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword The most forceful lines of a serious moral statement are usually less powerful than those of satire, and nothing will reform most men better than the depiction of their faults (Moliere s preface to Tartuffe). Jean Baptiste Poquelin Moliere s play Tartuffe caused much controversy on its release upon the reigning king of France at that time. This comedy of greed, lust, deceit, hypocrisy, devotion, ardor, and truth had to be rewritten three times before the clergy approved it for public viewing. It especially angered a group called The Brotherhood, which was dedicated to the preservation of very strict religious observances. Moliere was merely finding a way to express his thoughts about several attitudes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A classic example of this was when she clearly tells the rest of her son s family that Tartuffe practices precisely what he preaches and is a fine man. She goes on to say that she will not hear Tartuffe be mocked by fools such as the family members whose company she is in. These examples relate to Moliere s time, because the Clergy at that time were using the veil of religion to cover up intentions, which were not religion at all, abusing the power that they were given. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. In Moliere s Tartuffe, the abuse of power was a theme that was very prevalent in the play, as well as in, Moliere s society at that time as well. One of the main aspects that this play focuses on is Orgon s desire to preserve control in his family. As the patron to his family, he feels powerful and benevolent. One of the ways he further extends this responsibility he feels he has, he supports Tartuffe as well, financially, emotionally, by any means possible. Ordon thinks in helping Tartuffe, he is helping himself, but ironically, it will only hurt him in the end. Another problem in Moliere s time was that of hiding behind absolute power as a shield. The father of the family, in Tartuffe, had absolute power over his daughter s choice of marriage partner. The minute he feels insecure, after his family scolds him about Tartuffe, he arranges his daughter to be married to him, just because he has the power to do that. That was the problem ... A toxic tradition would be something that has been passed on from generation to generation, and the meaning of this tradition is then lost over the years. The Lottery explores the topics of tradition, rebelling against the system, and mob mentality. The way the story is written is meant to shock the reader when they realize what it means to win the lottery. (par. 9) The opposition to the lottery in the play is quite obvious compared to the silent resignation of Tessie in the short story. In the play, the stage directions help to show how uncomfortable Tessie truly is with the lottery. Tessie: (with forced pleasantness) Wouldn t have me leave my dishes in the sink, would you Joe? In Medieval Literature, a variety of borders are often used to serve different purposes but mainly to advance the plot through border crossings. The purpose of this essay is to consider the extent to which the authors of The Second Branch of the Mabinogi and Sir Orfeo use borders and border crossings to advance the text through a consideration of geographical, political and spiritual borders. The Second Branch of the Mabinogi relies mostly on the constant and unresolvable political border throughout the whole text to frame the story and drive the actions, whereas Sir Orfeo uses the physical, political and spiritual border in equal weighting in order to advance the plot. In this way, the political and geographical borders are tied together because the political situation between the countries dictates the crossing of the geographical border. A further instance of this is when Branwen sends a bird with a message to cross the sea from Ireland to Wales. This results in The men of the Island of the Mighty coming over, having heard of my punishment and dishonour (p. 29) because of their long standing and unresolved political tension. • 15. The Pros And Cons Of Doping In Sports Ethical reflection is deemed as being very important in the world of sport. Doping for instance, although athletes resort to this. It has many ethical objections and is portrayed negatively as numerous faults are argued about this case. Doping in sport, is arguably, the most talked about and controversial issue today, with very little change on it. Although, there has been a substantial increase in the use of it, (Dimeo, 2013) states Anti doping regulations were only established in the 1960 s, and serves as a useful reminder of an important but neglected fact about drug use. There is a consistent dispute against doping as, it fluctuates through all sports and have been demonised by society as it is considered as unethical. The International Association of Athletics (IAAF) was the first international sports federation, in 1928, to ban performance enhancing drugs (IAAF, 2003). Followed by the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) and The International Olympic Committee (IOC). An athletes engagement in competing is very important. It is their desire to gain any possible advantage to have an edge on their opponents and will do anything in their power to be the best. Doping is discriminated due to, being an unequal playing field and being harmful. This study explores the strengths and weaknesses of these ethical objections and the sociological theories on the use of drugs in sport. A common argument against doping in sport shifts from the concept that, there should be a level playing field for athletes and competition. A connection between doping and wrongness is noticeable as, it is argued that doping is banned because it is cheating or unfair (Meller, Waddington and Hoberman, 2015). In some cases, doping in sports is cheating because the athlete is breaking their contractual obligations, in sports that it is prohibited. (Green, 2004 and Schermer, 2006) define cheating as being the intentional violation of a rule, that is used in common language as an indication to many different forms of deception, and fraud that are intended to gain some benefit for oneself. Attitudes toward vice are thus inherently unstable. Further, moral ambivalence varies, depending upon how the particular characteristics of a vice map on to basic cultural values. 2 Values are often inconsistent with one another and drift over time in their perceived importance, taking on different significance from one decade to the next. The Ashanti people inhabit what is today Ghana, West Africa, with their capital city being Kumasi. I am interested in this subject because I spent four weeks of this summer in Ghana. While I spent most of my time with the Fante people on the coast, we toured Manhyia Palace in Kumasi and I was instantly intrigued by the Ashanti culture. I also personally know an Ashanti that has moved to the United States, which makes me all the more interested to explore how globalization, as defined by Manfred Steger, has shaped her life and culture. Ghana was called The Gold Coast until its independence was gained from the British in the 1900s, due to the abundance of gold. This, along with the eventual slave trade was a catalyst for the arrival of Europeans in the area in 1471. The Ashanti Empire was founded in 1697 by King Osei Tutu I. At its height, the Ashanti Empire was incredibly rich and powerful, larger than modern day Ghana, and even had European advisors. Dress was extravagant, rituals were important, and courts, tax systems, and military organizations were all being employed. Yet, as is the case with many African nations around this time, conflict with Europeans eventually arose. The first conflict between the Ashanti and Europeans was with the British, and it occurred in 1824. The Ashanti emerged victorious with the death of the British governor. During the second conflict with the British, the Ashanti were defeated and Kumasi was captured. The near fall of the Ashanti Empire came in 1896, when the Ashanti were defeated by the British and King Prempeh was exiled to the Seychelles. After this, the Ashanti attempted one last attack on the British fort, spurred on by the disrespect they were being shown by the British governor, but they were ultimately defeated. However, many of the traditions and cultural aspects of the ancient Ashanti s still exist today. Art and language are two ways in which Ashanti culture has been preserved ... Poetry has many forms and styles of which it can be written and emphasised in. A sonnet is one of these forms. They mainly consist of fourteen lines, but can be set out in two different ways. One of two styles of sonnet is Elizabethan. William Shakespeare is an example of a poet and writer of this time period, and possible one of the most recognised for his work. Right through this sonnet Shakespeare keeps picking and making fun of every aspect of his wife s looks. The way in which this is done by Shakespeare is by firstly mentioning something that is of natural beauty and then saying that his wife is the complete opposite. An example in which Shakespeare does this is when he says if snow be white, why then her breasts are dun . He is saying that his mistress s breasts are far from being snow white. Shakespeare carries on with this negative imagery, he moves away from the visual side and goes onto the senses of hearing and smelling. Shakespeare says that her breath reeks and that her voice is far from being musical, so she is hard to talk to. The whole tone of this sonnet is ironic. Shakespeare keeps talking about all her let downs when it comes to beauty and so compares it to something wonderful but then always brings it down. Shakespeare unlike other poets would usually say great things about there partners, so would describe them to such things as the sun. Shakespeare clearly loves this woman and so they are able to play about. This is why the tone of this sonnet is light hearted and the imagery is devout and non figurative in quality. The imagery is about life and possessions. To set the mood there is definitely a great dependence on the sound effects to have that slight isolation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Once you get all of these items in their designated spots, you will be left with only the items that actually belong in your bedroom. From there you would begin to start putting these remaining items in their proper place. I would suggest to start with folding all of your clothes and getting them put away in either your dresser or closest because your clothes often times take up the most space. Then you can focus on all of the other random things that are scattered about. Since you have everyting picked up and put in its proper place, you can start on the final step, which consists of all the polishing and finishing touches. This is when you would get your cleaning products ready because now all there is left to do is dust, sweep, and make your bed. It is very important that you remember to dust and clean all the surfaces before you begin to sweep. If you decide to sweep first, then once you start dusting you will only get more dust and dirt on the floor and therefore have to sweep a second time. One last finishing touch that I personally like to do once the polishing is finished, is light a candle. Firstly I will talk about the symbolism in both of the books separately. And then I will compare them to see the similarities and the differences. The kite symbol has two different meanings. In the Kite Runner the kite represents kite fighting and the blue kite that was the last opponent was the key to Baba s heart. Hally was impressed the kite was flying and looping in the air. Hally couldn t believe it. At last he felt happy again and was proud to have Sam as a friend. It works, Sam! We ve done it! This quote shows how Hally is now happy again and Sam had succeeded in his job of making Hally feel better. The kite represents sad moments in the play. When Sam and Hally were flying the kite they tied it to a bench where they could sit and watch it fly. Sam had to leave but I wanted him to stay . This shows that Hally wants to share his happy moments with Sam. The problem is that in 1950 in South Africa rules were different and a black man was not allowed to sit on the same bench as a white man. It was sort of sad to bring it down . This explains that the idea of the kite flying in the air got him into a fantasy world and now that the kite is on the ground he is back in the reality. Hally asks Sam if they should do it again, make another kite and enjoy the moments as they shared last time. But Sam said No. You can t fly kites on rainy days which mean you can t be happy when you re sad. In The Kite Runner the kite does not always symbolize happiness also it shows cowardice and betrayal. • 37. The Influence Of Jazz Music Jazz is one of few purely American art forms. Its creation came out of the southern United States and the social conditions associated with the relationship between the white and African American communities there (Larson 1). African American musicians in particular were the key proponents in the development of jazz in the early 20th century. The creation and shaping of jazz music came from a combination of the musical styles of spirituals, the blues, ragtime, and Western European classical music (Larson 37 38). Although jazz originated from these four styles, defining jazz itself cannot be done so plainly. Since its origin, jazz has continued to progress and branch out into a wide variety of musical styles and genres. At its root, jazz is about the individual expression of the musician (Larson 2). John Coltrane was one of many musicians that used jazz as this medium. Through his early works in the bebop and hard bop styles to free form and more spiritual styled music later in his career, Coltrane pursued deeper expression from his music (Wikipedia).
