Niosomes are non-ionic surfactant vesicles capable of effectively delivering amphiphilic and lipophilic drugs, exhibiting biodegradable and biocompatible properties. This review discusses niosomes' potential applications in targeted delivery for conditions like cancer and infections, while also emphasizing novel drug delivery concepts such as proniosomes and aspasomes. Their characteristics, formation methods, advantages, and challenges in stability and drug release are explored, highlighting the need for further research to enhance their commercial viability.
