1. NHS Advertising Review and Refection
When working on the NHS Right Treatment Right Place brief our group had to
make sure the stop motion video we did had to meet the right guide lines, to
show 3 different scenarios that showed where to go for the different
treatments and what you should do. This stop motion video had to last for 90
seconds. We looked at previous videos to get an idea of what video we wanted
to do, a stop motion, animation or just a normal video. Then I made a mind
map of right treatment right place ideas and the type of video.
We filmed the video before the deadline which gave us enough time to
edit it all together and see if we had to do anymore or re film anything that we
did wrong or missed out the first time. We also had to make the animation
understandable for all ages, the writing had to be a good size and clear to read
while on screen but not too much information, as it was only on for a couple of
seconds. Also the stop motion had to be clear so that everyone can understand
the scenarios.
In our idea generation we came up with two ideas; one was to do a stop
motion the other was to do an animation. The thing I would have changed was
to do an animation instead of the stop motion because it didn’t turn out how I
would have thought it would and making an animation would be easier in my
opinion, because drawing and editing animation would be easier then taking
15 photos per second without nudging the camera and moving the figure to
much.
In the group we all did our fair share of the work and didn’t let just one
person do most of the work we spilt the work up between us, this also helped
us get the work done quicker. Our weakness was that the film didn’t turn out
as good as we had planned and if I had to do it again I would change a lot of
what I did. The reasons the video didn’t turn out as good was because the
camera wasn’t that stable and the location wasn’t good. Also I would make
sure the lightening was better and we took more photos. Also when editing the
video I would make sure it ran more smoothly without it skipping in some
places.
We completed this project in the time we were given and it also met
most the requirements that the brief had set.
