1. NHS Advertising Review and Reflection
For this assignment we had to create an advertisement for Right
Treatment Right Place. This campaign is about making sure patients
understand where to go for different treatments. The guide lines told us that
the advert would be preferred to be an animation that lasted for up to 90
seconds. The composition was 25 fps.
To start off the group researched into the NHS and right treatment right
place. We searched for videos and images that would help us with assignment.
We then created mood boards which helped us find an idea suitable for what
we were advertising. When we came up with a final idea we made story boards
and pre-production plans. Later on we changed various things in the story
boards as we were incapable of carrying them out.
We then continued to make the advert. The group brought in equipment
and started to film. We went to Salford Royal Hospital and took still images to
go into the composition and we to many pictures in the class room where the
set was for the advertisement.
We were able to complete the assignment in the time provided which
left us time to go over the advert and improve it. The video is a stop motion
animation that had woman showing the audience the different areas of right
treatment right place. When filming we struggled to keep the camera steady
making the picture slightly shaky, which is expected from a stop motion. To
solve this we could have found a steadier tripod or find a location which was
more reliable.
Everyone did their fair share of work and everyone co-operated well. If I
was to do this assignment again I had make sure the camera isn’t jumpy and
more take more pictures so the video flows fluently. I would also make sure
the advert lasts longer as I don’t believe we reached the assigned amount of
time.
We made the animation so that it would appeal to younger audiences as
well as the older generation. I believe we made sure that the patients/ viewers
understand what right treatment right place is, but a lot more of the
advertisement could have been worked on.
In our ideas generation we considered doing an animation but we found
that it would have took a longer time.
