This study evaluated the psychometric properties and factor structure of the Persian version of the Behavior Problems Inventory (BPI-01) among Iranian elementary students with intellectual disabilities. The BPI-01 was administered to 591 students by their caregivers. Results showed the scale had acceptable internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha from 0.83 to 0.94) and confirmatory factor analysis supported the original 3-factor structure of the BPI-01 (self-injurious behavior, stereotyped behavior, and aggressive/destructive behavior). This provides evidence that the Persian version of BPI-01 is reliable and valid for assessing problem behaviors in Iranian students with intellectual disabilities.
