WHAT IS NETWORKING???
Computer
networking is way to
connect computer
with each other. This
is made so that
computer can
communicate,
exchange data and
also share resources.
NETWORKING DEVICES
There are several
devices used in a
computer:
E.G. Hub, switch,
router, cables
etc…
Hub is networking device,
used to connect computers
in a networks.
Hub has sockets on it,
each socket can have one
connector. Data sent from
any One computer comes
to all attached computers.
Basic function of switch
is same as that of a hub.
While switch has ability
to find out the
destination of data. It is
more efficient,
intelligent, fast then
network using hub.
Router is used to direct data
between two networks. It
read information to
attached data, to find its
destination.
If router does not have
access to the destination, it
sand the data to another
router.
Cables are used
to connect
computer and
devices…
Cables are
different types
in networking…
TYPES OF NETWORKING
Networking has two or more then
computers connect to each other, this
computer may be in one room, one
building, and one city or any where in
this world. There is on geographical
limit of a network.
E.g. LAN, MAN, WAN
LAN
LAN Is stand for local area
networking,
E.G. Network with in a campus.
A LAN connects network devices
over a relatively short distance. A
networked office building, school,
or home usually contains a single
LAN.
MAN
MAN Is stand for metropolitan
area networking, E.g. Network
connecting various cities.
It is larger than LAN but
smaller than WAN.
Metropolitan Area Networks
are not commonly used these
days, they are used to create
communication between
systems in an entire cities.
WAN
WAN is stand for wide area
networking, E.g. internet on a whole
world.
WAN covers a large geographic
area such as country, continent or
even whole of the world.
The largest example of a Wide
Area Network
 is the internet itself, which
connects all users to the information
and data that is available on the
internet.
