Case Study Jack Carlisle, CIO
Executive Summary
Jack Carlisle was hired to restructure and organize IZL IT department in a growing financial services
organization that is engulfed with internal turmoil which saw a sudden replacement of the company s
CEO Chuck Hansen. Jack Carlisle as a straight shooter must assess the changes, both tactical and
strategic, in an environment in which IT was not well managed to align with business operations and
gets criticized by peer executives from the standpoint of both a professional and career.
IZL Corporation is plagued by many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The leadership within IZL Corporation has become complacent and not ready to tackle challenges
inherent in managing large public companies as well as dealing with developed financial institutions
and regulators. This is evident when Jack Carlisle asked the question How do you know how things
are going? and the response was If I don t get a call, everything must be fine. (Austin, 2007). The
company lacked a reporting mechanism that will otherwise provide important information about the
affairs and health of the business and IT infrastructure.
Business process remained manual as reporting was done in spreadsheet rather than utilizing
application designed and developed to produce efficiency and alignment with business strategy. There
seem to be no care for data protection as there were no policies, procedures and regulatory system to
guide workflow and ensure compliance. The handling of physical infrastructure did not matter to
either executive managers of the IT staffs especially when you come to think of the investment and
cost associated with maintaining an IT shop.
Supporting Argument
It is evident that IZL Corporation lost its competitive advantage due to unclear business strategy and
as a result its market share dwindled and CEO Chuck Hansen ousted. For IZL Corporation to return to
its old glory days, must

How Competitive Advantage Is Enhances Through Customer...
Core Competencies These entail organization proficiencies in efficient resource allocation and
effective coordination to generate competitive edge difficult to duplicate. Lenovo did so by integrating
resource based view strategy with diverse production skills and access to emerging markets to drive its
initial success. The strategic capabilities that pushed Lenovo include association with values of
distinctive innovation and management capabilities (Johnson et al, 2008, p. 102). a) Value These entail
the benefits perceived by customer and Lenovo provide through low cost, innovation and comparable
quality with competitors. Lenovo competes based on low price, as it can produce with a lower cost
structure by leveraging on the components suppliers in China giving quality that is comparable to
multinational competitors (Xie White, 2004, p. 412). Competitive advantage is enhances through
customer support excellences, high quality and low cost innovation. Innovation summary is provided:

The Value Of The Currency Alone Will Not Improve The Trade...
There are too many factors that may limit the growth needed to reach the balance to get out of debt.
Devaluing the currency alone will not improve the trade balance. Instead, there becomes a need to
limit the consumption. In the case of food imports, which accounts for about 12 percent of import
expenditure in Sri Lanka, the government expects the price increases to result in import substitution,
which will likely take time. The most forceful argument for devaluation is that it ensures the
competitiveness of exports. The question here is whether the extent of depreciation would be adequate
to ensure that the real effective exchange rate would ensure competitiveness.
Again, there are some governments that do try to attempt to influence the value of their currency by
ways of intervention. The most notable offender in recent years is that of China, who has sought to
keep its currency undervalued to make Chinese exports more competitive against other heavily traded
Asian markets. They can do this by buying US dollar assets, which increases the value of the US
dollar to Chinese Yuan ratio. (Factors Which Influence the Exchange Rate) Because the current
financial status is so heavily dependent on exporting, the continuous management of the exchange rate
to ensure export competitiveness is essential for China and Sri Lanka. A reduction in exports could
affect the economy seriously as a decline in exports could affect economic growth, employment and
incomes. (Sanderatne)

Adam Smith And Jean Jacques Rousseau
ADAM SMITH AND JEAN JACQUES ROUSSEAU.
Adam Smith(1723 1790) and Jean Jacques Rousseau(1712 1770) each provide their own distinctive
social thought. Smith, political economist and moral philosopher, is regarded as the father of modern
economics. Rousseau, a Franco Swiss social and political philosopher, combines enlightenment and
semi romantic themes in his work. Thus Smith s work places emphasis on the relationship between
economics and society, whereas, Rousseau focuses his attention on the social inequalities within
society. Therefore, Smith and Rousseau, of the Scottish and Continental Enlightenment respectively,
provide unique insights on their existing society.
Adam Smith is one of the main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Adam Smith, the development of a commercial society produced a social structure divided into
three classes, landowners, capitalists, and labourers, the three great constituent orders of every
civilized society (Smith, 1998:27). Thus, Smith s ideal society would be of people would work for
themselves. He was a strong advocate for free market and posed strong opposition to the feudal
system. He, along with other Enilghtenment thinkers, believed that the State had no legitmate role in
the free market. Smith s defence of the free market was tied to the belief that state interference with
the market benefits the rich and hurts the poor(Lecture Notes, 2001:5). Therefore, Adam Smith s
vision of an ideal society was one in which most people are involved in independent commodity
production(Lecture Notes, 2001:5). Thus for society to develop and prosper as a whole, its individual
members must serve their self interests.
Jean Jacques Rousseau s work, in contrast to Smith s, gives attention to the social inequalities within
society created by social development. Rousseau believes the social development that the Scottish
Enlightenment thinkers advocate, actually create a web of problems that previously did not exist.
More specifically, his work concentrates on the articificial social inequalities. The artifical refers to the
specifically socially or conventional aspects of reality the conditions of human life that are contrived

The Benefits Of Lily s Special Needs In Public Schools
Lily s parents can argue that the public school should meet Lily s special needs, set up appropriate
goals, and be placed in an inclusive classroom. Also, they should be notified the reason of the school s
decisions. Firstly, the purpose of IDEA is to to ensure that all children with disabilities have available
to them a free appropriate public education that emphasizes special education and related services
designed to meet their unique needs and prepare them for further education, employment, and
independent living (The Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004, 2008). It
emphasizes that a free appropriate public education need to both meet children s unique needs and
enable children with disabilities to be prepared for further education. However, the public school does
not try to meet Lily s needs that she often needs instructions broken down into chunks and given
individually because she gets easily overwhelmed by sensory input, but has learned many coping
strategies for this with support, and her sensory challenges sometimes distract her from what is
happening in the class. Furthermore, in the grade three the majority of the goals already been mastered
by Lily with her private tutor and second grade teacher, which means that the school district set up no
challenging goal for Lily to enable her to have further education and did not meet the requirement that
IDEA should prepare children with disabilities for further education, employment, and

The Goal And Managing Production Management
The Goal paints a vivid pro trail of common difficulties faced in production plants and by production
managers everyday. In any company the goal is to make money, however as a production manager that
goal becomes your sole responsibility. The entire purpose of a manager is to manage the production
jobs in a systematic way. Low production cost at a fraction of the time increases demand which
increases profit. This book addresses the fundamental skills needed to run and manage production
efficiently. Understanding what works for your company as well as against is the first step in
improving production efficiency. As a manager or company head you must evaluate all aspects of your
production plan and begin drafting solutions. Eliyahu M. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

allowing Rogo to balance both successfully. Their marriage begins to strain because of the devotion
Rogo needs to give to the plant. While in a team meeting Rogo starts to reflect of his life and how he
is back at square one is some ways. He thinks back on a conversation he had with a college friend,
Jonah. Jonah was a Physicist and in catching up they discussed the production plant and the new
implementation of robots on the assembly line. Jonah didn t agree that the robots increased production
efficiency; in this reflection Rogo realized the goal of his company was to make money.
The Next day at work Rogo converses with Lou the plant s controller about the goal of the plant, Lou
agrees they discuss the tools used to tell if a company is making money. Rogo knows he has little time
to turn things around, but so much more is needed so he decides he to talk to Jonah again. After finally
getting a hold of Jonah, Rogo gets 3 measurements with specific definitions to work out the goal,

Sexual Roles And Roles Of Women
Question 1
Lovemaking
First the word, lovemaking, has a sex role attached to it, which comes from one or another person
being the dominant one. Lovemaking is dominated by the woman. The male is the passive one. These
two roles can be switched when dealing with this word. Some cases women like their man to be
dominant and make love to them. On the other hand, women can play the role to show their man how
to make love to them the way the woman ultimately desires to.
Fucking
When you hear the word it has a major presence about it. The word itself has a lot of dominant
characteristics attached to it. It commands your attention when it is spoken. When we hear a word like
this and it commands your attention, it seems aggressive and men are associated with aggressive
behavior. Men are definitely the dominant person when dealing with this word. While women are
passive.
Intercourse
This word says that dominance has no specific sex role. It can go either way, depending on the
situation. Both men and women are the dominant person. There is no passive person with this word.
This words is not as commonly used as the others, but it can be used in some tenses.
Intimacy
In this case the word has a nice and delicate tone when it is said. Dealing with dominance the roles are
switched from the normal dominant person. The woman is actually the dominant one. While the man
is the passive one. This is because women tend to care more about making a connection and having
their feelings

The Development of an Artificial Life based Software...
The behavior of a solution or a service can be analyzed by taking into account the interaction between
the components of the software. These interactions can be analyzed by developing a framework based
on Artificial Life. This calls for the development of an Artificial Life based Software Ecosystem
model. This paper proposes a framework using Artificial Life in the Software Ecosystem. In order to
find the gaps in the existing methodologies, extensive literature review has been carried out. It was
found that the interest in the topic has been on the increase and the advent of professional Ecosystems
has helped popularizing the phenomenon. However, the present framework do not use the data related
to evolution of the Software for later stages. The proposed methodology would pave way of Artificial
Life in Software Ecosystem.
1. INTRODUCTION A Software Ecosystem (SE) considers developers, clients, operating system,
underlying hardware and other peripheral components. A SE considers the concept of evolution of the
software in the same way as the evolution of a natural ecosystem. It has been pointed out by many
researchers that considering the system s evolution would lead to a better and comprehensive analysis
of the software which would ultimately help in management and development of new versions. The
point can be understood by the following analogy. If we consider that evolution of a human being,
then what humans have done in order to achieve, what they have been able to

Creating and Managing Effective Teams
Creating and Managing Effective Teams Managing a team of people can be tricky, but it can be even
harder when those people come from different areas in the workplace. Not knowing a fellow team
member can put a strain on the ability to work together, but with the proper training, and management
skills, any team can accomplish the goals set for them. For this exercise I was asked to select a team of
people to search for innovative ideas that would put the automaker on the leading edge . I selected
Petra Diodorus as the Assessor Advisor, Amrita Choudhury as the Creator, Marcell Collins as the
Controller Organizer, John Marsh as the Promoter Maintainer, and Maria de Grassa as the Linker
Producer. I chose Petra as the Assessor Advisor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next problem I had to address was when the team felt that Amrita was trying to force her ideas
onto everyone else. Before being appointed to the team, she had been designing her own ideas for a
line of automobiles, now at every meeting she is trying to push those ideas onto the other team
members, instead of seeking out innovating ideas, like they were tasked to do in the beginning. The
team has used a few of her ideas, but they know for the team to succeed, they will have to probe deep
into the auto making industry to find the best ideas possible. I would address the issue as a team, let
her know that we appreciate her ideas, and that she will get recognition for those ideas we use, but let
her know that we still need move forward with the program. Giving Amrita the recognition she is
seeking as a reward would make her feel as if she did help the team, while also giving her exposure in
the design field. Once the group was back on track, the next roadblock to hit the team was groupthink.
They had started to rule out ideas that might have been just a little risky, but could have put them on
the leading edge of the industry. Trying to inspire them to start thinking as individuals again, and get
their creativity flowing again I decided to use a Devil s advocate session. I told the team that they
should take away questions and concerns from this meeting, but that it is not an attack on the team, it
is just a way to get them thinking

Use Of Substitution Ciphers And Transposition Ciphers

Question 6 1: Write a one half page description of the use of substitution ciphers and transposition
ciphers. Use the rot13 encoding algorithm to encode the following sentence: It is critical for network
administrators to understand cryptography.
There are several websites that will encrypt in rot13.
Answer 6 1: Substitution ciphers are a method of encryption by which units of plaintext are
substituted with ciphertext according to a regular system; the units may be single letters (the most
common), pairs of letters, triplets of letters, mixtures of the above, and so forth (WordNik, 2014). In
other words, if you re sending a message (plaintext) you want to keep secret, it can be transformed
into an enciphered message (cipertext) using a different alphabet. The person receiving the message
will then have to decrypt it. Transposition cipers are simple data encryption schemes in which
plaintext characters are shifted in some regular pattern to form ciphertext (Gustavus, 2014). In other
words, it s a simpler way to send secret messages; however, it isn t as secure and can be decrypted
easily. For an example, I have encrypted the following phrase using rot13 encryption: It is critical for
network administrators to understand cryptography. I was returned with: Vg vf pevgvpny sbe argjbex

Comparing and Contrasting Wole Soyinka and John Pepper...
Both poems entitled Abiku discuss the title child who returns to haunt his family after dying at a
young age. However, they are formatted and presented in different manners to give alternate meanings
to the story presented. The first, written by Wole Soyinka, is written in stanzas, while John Pepper
Clark s is in block form. However, they also share a variety of qualities in common, such as nature
imagery and belief in incarnation. One similarity between Soyinka s and Clark s poems is the belief in
incarnation. Both discuss the Abiku, which is a young child who dies before reaching puberty and

For example, it is said that the Abiku will come again when the snail is burnt in his shell,/Whet the

nature that would foreshadow something much worse. In addition, it is clear that the Abiku is
returning when the ground is wet with mourning/White dew suckles flesh birds (Soyinka 21 22). In
contrast, one significant difference between the poems by Soyinka and Clark is the format, as one is
written in block form and the other is in stanzas. First, the piece by Soyinka contains stanzas, which
are used to group specific ideas and themes together, as well as indicate a shift into a new idea.
However, the primary use of this format in Abiku is to demonstrate the many lives of the Abiku as it
continues to torment its mother. This also adds to the belief in incarnation of the African people.
Conversely, Clark use block style poetry in order to demonstrate the circular manner of the Abiku s
numerous reincarnations. There is no separation between the lines, showing that the Abiku keeps on
returning with very little break in between. It is interesting to read two pieces of literature on the same
topic, but written in different manners to get a new perspective. For example, Clark s focuses on the
circular manner of the reincarnation, while Soyinka s stanzas demonstrated the many lives of the
child. While there are

Reflection Of A Discourse Community
Introduction
Paul Ryan once said, Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a
community of persons working together. We do not often realize how important it is for everybody to
work together to achieve a goal. A community is a group of individual people gathered together to
form a whole, like a school, local church, government entity, non profit organization, sport team, etc.
This whole can make reference to a discourse community.
According to John Swales, discourse communities are unions where individuals have a common
purpose, and communicate to achieve this. There are six characteristics that make up a discourse
community. They are a set of common public goals, mechanisms of communication among its ...

Literature Review
In the article, The Concept of Discourse Community, John Swales defines what a discourse
community is, and yet, he strongly argues that a discourse community must meet six specific
characteristics. A social group must have a set of common goals, methods of intercommunication
between its members, feedback, the usage of genres, a determined lexis, and a rank that defines the
level of expertise each member has.
With that being said, Swales highlights the need of a clarification of what differs a discourse
community from a speech community. In Erik s Borg (2003) article, Discourse community , the
concept of a speech community refers to actual people who recognize their language use as different
from other language users. (p.398) Additionally, Swales states that discourse communities recruits its
members by persuasion, training, or relevant qualification and speech communities recruits its
[members] by birth, accident or adoption . Even though speech communities do share similar
linguistic rules among its members, norms, and theories, they do not share common a common goal.
They lack communication among its members, and lastly, they do not accomplish the utilization of
genres like a discourse community does.
Moreover, it is established that genres are how things get done, when language is used to accomplish
them (Martin, 1985). Swales (1990) indicates that discourse

war including Kamenev and Zinoveiv were but on trial accused of being directly responsible for the
assassination of Kirov, a popular leading Communist, in 1934. Although Historians believe it is more

Stalin propagated an image of himself as the father / protector of the nation with posters and statues of
himself in many Russian town and cities. He also ruthlessly controlled the media to ensure that the
Russian people were only given such information as he saw fit. An example of this is the fact that
Trotsky s vehement criticisms of Stalin from the various countries he lived in abroad were kept from
the Russia people and indeed Trotsky who had been true hero of the revolution was blamed by Stalin
for much of Russia s problems at the time. Trotsky is also a good example of Stalin s use of terror

Poe was fascinated by the mystical and the unknown. He was also interested in the human
subconscious and why a human being react in a certain way at a certain time. His stories are often
about dark castles and castle ruins which often have secrets buried deep down in the walls where they
have been for centuries. Most likely in a moonlit desert landscape. Magical experiments and hypnosis
play a big part in Poe s works. Many people thinks that Edgar Allan Poe was one of the first detective
story writer with the short story quot; The murders in the Rue morgue quot;, where the detective
Monsieur Dupin solves a strange homicide case where a giant monkey is the murderer. This short
story is a bit different because there is for example a three page laying out about algae and mosses in
the story.
Poe had a rhythmic and floating language in his texts and to show this, I have a couple of excerpts

Poe s productions. The poem is written in four

entourage in their endeavors and encounters amongst the same mythical kingdom, the collection of
texts written throughout the Middle Ages have been assembled by several authors over different
centuries and countries. It should be noted that these writings do not always exclusively feature King
Arthur as the main character, but it often maintains its focus on individuals in relation to him or those
that have a position within his court, with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This tale tells of Lanval, a knight in King Arthur s court who is envied and ostracized by others for his
abilities and appearance. After riding out into a meadow one day and resting by a stream, he is
approached by two beautiful maidens who lead him to a tent to meet their lady, implied to be a fairy
queen, who he immediately falls in love with for her beauty. The two become lovers under the
condition he cannot tell anyone of her. Their encounter results in Lanval receiving much of what he
had previously yearned for, including recognition and friendship with the other knights. However, one
day the queen makes advances towards Lanval, which he denies, defending his stance by revealing his
affection is solely for his lover, who is more beautiful than the queen. This breaks his vow of secrecy,
and also results in the queen falsely accusing Lanval to King Arthur as the one that suggested an affair,
thus putting him on trial. The only way to prove him innocent is if his beautiful lover appears. Lanval
s spirits lower when the woman does not answer his requests to see her; however, there is a dramatic
shift when her maidens arrive on the day of the trial, followed by his fair lover. The fairy queen s
presence and request to free Lanval grants the charges to be dropped, and she immediately turns to
leave. Lanval pursues her, hopping on her horse behind her, and departing with

Romeo And Juliet Plans Essay
Everybody makes plans every day. Plans are part of our daily lives. In the tragic play Romeo and
Juliet by William Shakespeare, the local priest, Friar Laurence, loved to make plans. He tried to make
peace between rival family s, the Capulets, and the Montagues. He devised many risky plans
involving the two teens Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. Friar Lawrence s plans included Romeo
and Juliet s secret marriage, Romeo s Banishment, and Juliet s fake death. All of these plans affected
the characters and the outcome of the play. Friar Lawrence s first plan, to marry Romeo and Juliet is
what really started this whole mess. Romeo went directly to Friar to ask him about marrying him to
Juliet. Friar was hesitant to help Romeo. Especially because he was just in love with Roseline not to ...

threatening to shoot herself in the head if Friar could not get Romeo back. Friar Lawrence told Juliet
to put the gun down and listen to his new plan. He told her to drink this potion that would put her to
sleep for a few hours to make everyone believe that she is dead. After the funeral and her burial
Romeo would sneak back in to Verona, dig her up, take her body out of the coffin, and they would run
away and be happy. At first Juliet was skeptical of the plan she had multiple fears but in the end
agreed that this was the only chance she had. However, this plan might of worked if Friar Laurence s
servant boy could have gotten the message to Romeo sooner. Therefore Romeo received the news that
Juliet was really dead. Romeo ends up committing suicide because he thought his wife was deceased.

The Giving Tree By Shel Silverstein Meaning
The Giving Tree is a sentimental poem by Shel Silverstein. The main lesson of this poem revolves
around absolute selflessness, it s evident. However, despite this essential, meaningful teaching, there
are other underlying themes that are just as influential, if not more. These other lessons, perhaps, are
vital to a happy life. The Giving Tree preaches around ideas like: going barefoot, just being there for
someone, and that happiness is a place between too much and too little. The relevancy of these life
lessons are indescribable.
Firstly, going barefoot might be the way to walk. The meaning of this short phrase conveys that the
stress free life of a naive child running barefoot in the yard is something taken for granted. People are
too busy pushing kids into their future that they forget, sometimes childhood is what they should be
revisiting. The hardships of life is something only people with a certain maturity can fully effect. Once
there was a tree....and she loved a little boy. And everyday the boy would come and he would gather
her leaves and make them into crowns and play king of the forest. He would climb up her trunk and
swing from her branches and eat apples. And they would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What this quote conveys is that having too little is an evident struggle, financially, support, a home, a
loss is a loss. It s an emptiness that has yet to be filled. It is a place where genuine happiness has a
hard time taking place. However, throughout the poem, throughout the boy s life, he keeps coming
back to the tree asking for things. He picked her apples to receive money. He took her branches to
build himself a house. He cut her down to use her trunk to make himself a boat. He had all these
wonderful things expecting happiness as a result, but still came back to her. Utter happiness is a great
pair with contemptment. Not too much, but not too little. It took the boy years to realize this, until he

The Purpose Of Spending A Day Without Technology
Let s give our soul the rest that truly deserves. The purpose of spending a day without technology is to
detoxify ourselves from the continuous barrage of information. Just as Mark Bittman mentions in his
article, I felt connected to myself rather than my computer. I had time to think, and distance from
normal demands. (4) We are so accustomed to rely on technology that we seem to forget what would
become of us without it. Internet, radio, television, cell phones, video games and other technological
amenities are part of our daily life, in a way that sometimes we can not see reality outside a screen. We
have shelved conversations face to face, the pleasure of enjoying the birds sing or simply appreciate
nature around us. Professor David Levy declares, Living a good life requires a kind of balance, a bit of
quiet. There are questions about the limits of the brain and the body, and there are parallels here to the
environmental movement. (2) Talking about the environment, not only helps us to live without the use
of technology for one day but it helps the environment as well. A great way to save money and take
care of the environment is to decide to give up the technology just for one day. We need to take care of
our soul or inner self or however we want to call it, not for vanity but sanity. Since we get up in the
morning and until we go to bed at night we are bombarded with data and information such as emails,
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, news, programs, text

Essay On Amelia Earhart
Amelia Earhart spoke the words, I want to do something useful in the world. Not only did she speak
these words, but she lived by them with her lifetime full of astonishing aviation records and other
services. From her tomboyish childhood to her first flight, Amelia Earhart proved that airplanes and
service were her passion. Throughout her entire career, Earhart showed the world what women could
do and truly became a world leading pilot and adventurer. Amelia Mary Earhart was born on July 24,
1897 to Edwin and Amy Otis Earhart in Atchison, Kansas (Encyclopedia of World Biography.) Earhart
s father was an attorney for the railroad, and because he was always moving for his job, Earhart spent
most of her childhood with her mother s parents, Judge Alfred and Amelia Otis (Dictionary of
American Biography.) It was with them that she showed early evidence of living life while beating to
her own drum. Growing up on her grandparents farm, she partook in many tomboy activities like
exploring river caves and playing physical sports such as football, basketball, and baseball
(Contemporary Heroes and Heroines.) She also loved school although attending six different high
schools because of her family having to move around (Science and Its Times.) After graduating high
school, Earhart became a nurse s aide in Canada during World War I to help with the wounded soldiers
returning home from war. Afterwards, she enrolled at Columbia University in New York as a pre

Essay on Joan of Arc
Joan of Arc
The effect of Joan of Arc can be best understood and explained by looking at some of the events
surrounding her birth and childhood. She was born in the later half of the Hundred Years War. The war
was between France and England, which began over the land and control of Aquitaine, located in the
southern part of France. Both countries had made legitimate claims of the land, but the dispute was
unresolved and war was declared. The war was mainly fought in France and by 1429, England had
gained a great portion of France. Joan also entered the world at a time that there was a lot of turmoil
not only in her country but also within the church. At this time the Christian theology was not catering

Baudricourt was a ruthless soldier and simply dismissed her, saying to Joan s cousin Take her home to
her father and give her a good whipping. However she did not leave the town and was very persistent
with Baudricourt. Baudricourt noticed her persistency and it gradually made an impression on him.
After she predicted the defeat of the French army outside of Orleans, her cause began to gain ground.
She finally went to see the king with three escorts. She dressed in man s clothing, probably to protect
her modesty in the rough terrain of the military camp, and on March 6 she reached Chinon. Two days
later she was admitted to see the King Charles VII. To test her, he disguised himself in the crowd as a
regular person, but she saluted him immediately. The king had her sent to be examined by doctors and
bishops, they found nothing wrong with her or heretic about her speech. She then returned to Chinon
where Charles VII gave her a sword, which she refused and asked for the one that she said was buried
behind the altar in the chapel of Ste Catherine de Fierbois. Charles VII did what she asked and sent
people to look for this sword; it was found in the very spot she had indicated. She was then ready for
war however; Joan told Sire de Rotslaer that she would save Orleans. She told him how she would be
wounded in the chest, but it

How Trap Is A Sport That I Have Been Enjoyed For Over Four...
Trap is a sport that I have been enjoying for over four years. Learning more about it for the purpose of
this research paper is something that was enjoyable. This paper will cover the history of the sport,
some of the equipment and entry costs involved, and provide some highlights of basic gun safety
required for any trap shooter.
Trap shooting began in the U.S. around 1825. Shooters typically used shotguns to fire at targets
thrown, and later launched, into the air. The first U.S. recorded trap match was conducted in
Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1931. These early shooting competitions used live birds for the targets, as had
been the history in Europe where the sport originated. America, however, led the way in developing
artificial targets for trap competitions. The first targets were glass balls that contained feathers. The
greatest trap shooters of the 19th century included Adam Bogardus, Ira Paine and Annie Oakley. In a
one day exhibition, Bogardus broke 5,681 glass balls before missing, and Oakley shot 4,722 of 5,000
glass balls released. In pistol, the first recorded match was in 1860 and it was a duel between two men
who shot nine inch China plates from a distance of 100 feet. The winner broke 11 out of 15 plates. In
1865, Buffalo Bill Cody produced shooting pistol exhibitions, which further promoted the sport of
shooting throughout the rest of the United States.
Clay targets, sometimes called pigeons, became popular between 1910 and 1915 when skeet shooting

The Characteristics Of Ancient Accounting
Ancient accounting started way back during the ancient civilization. However, double entry
bookkeeping started in the 14th century in Italy. The Italians of the 14th to 16th century were the first
to practice the use of Arabic, rather than Roman, numerals for tracking business accounts. Luca
Pacioli was acknowledged as the Father of Accounting and Bookkeeping. However, he was not the
one who invented the double entry bookkeeping system but he was the one who started to spread this
knowledge and the first to publish his work on this system. The principles published by him remain
mostly unchanged until today. Before his work, Benedetto Cotrugli wrote Delia Mercatura et del
Mercante Perfetto (Of Trading and the Perfect Trader), that touches briefly about the features of
double entry bookkeeping. Although the work of Benedetto Cotrugli had not been published for more
than a century, Pacioli was familiar with the manuscript and he credited Cotrugli as the creator of the

Forms Of Government In Dracula By Bram Stoker
There are many forms of government around the world. The United States is a democratic republic.
North Korea is governed under an authoritarian dictatorship. Some countries are monarchies governed
by hereditary rulers. But whether these are good forms of government depends on whether they
achieve the purposes of government. For example, the Apostle Paul said that the purpose of
government was to punish evildoers, or said another way, to secure the peace. (Romans 13:40)
Another example is the US Constitution that says government has six purposes: to secure unity,
justice, domestic tranquility, defense, general welfare and liberty. (Preamble to the US Constitution)
To achieve any of these goals, the best government would be able to identify ... Show more content on

A strong defense protects the country from outside invaders, promotes a sense of well being within the
country, and allows people the confidence to prosper. A vampire government would be able to defend
its citizens from outside threats far better than any human form of government. Consider the
characteristics that make vampires so good in battle as described by Professor Van Helsing in Bram
Stoker s Dracula. He throws no shadow. He is as strong as 20 men; he is of cunning more than mortal,
for his cunning be the growth of ages... He can transform himself into wolf... He can be as bat. He can
come in mist which he can create... He can appear as elemental dust and become small. He can, when
once he find his way, come out from anything or into anything, no matter how close it be bounce or
fused up with fire... he can also see in the dark. ...he can, within his range, direct the elements: the
storm, the fog, the thunder; he can command all the meaner things: the rat, and the owl, and the bat the
moth, and the fox, and the wolf; he can grow and become small; and he can at times vanish and come
unknown. (Bram Stoker s Dracula pg. 287). This quote shows directly just how powerful vampires
can be in battle. No human army in the world would be a match for a vampire led army, much less an
army of vampires. If a vampire became threatened he or she could just vanish into thin air, raise a
storm to the detriment of his enemies, summon animals to assail for it, drown its enemies in water,
burn its enemies with the snap of its fingers, or just simply attack them with his/her own hands.
According to Count Dracula in Bram Stoker s Dracula, men of the Dracula blood were great leaders in
battle and can boast a record that mushroom growths like the Hapsburgs and the Romanoffs can never
reach. (Dracula pg. 42) No human army can boast

What is the purpose of strategy?
See Chapter 1, Exhibit 01: Strategic management consists of the analyses, decisions, and actions an
organization undertakes in order to create and sustain competitive advantages: strategy directs the
organization toward overall goals and objectives; includes multiple stakeholders in decision making;
incorporates both short term and long term perspectives; recognizes trade offs between efficiency and
effectiveness.
An interesting question that the instructor can ask at this point is: what business is Robin Hood s
organization in? Some students might say philanthropy, some might say robbery. The answers to this
question will help students understand the importance of vision and mission: the leader must have a
clear idea of the purpose of the business, and who it competes with, in order to craft strategy. If the
business is robbery, there are different competitors, like highwaymen.
2. What strategic problems does Robin Hood have?
Robin Hood s organization is in a profit squeeze: revenue is down and costs are rising. In addition,
there are cracks in the culture of the organization. Issues that need to be addressed include: How to
avoid detection of the growing organization? Has Sherwood Forest become too small to sustain
operations? What to do about the growing strength of the Sheriff s forces? How to address

Lagoon 620 Catamaran Review
Overview:
The Lagoon 620 Catamaran was designed for the ultimate luxury experience. The vessel is simply big
with an emphasis on space and comfort. The comfort extends far beyond the interior and makes itself
known in how the boat sails. For a catamaran of such an impressive scale, the vessel was engineered
to remain stable and perform well in any sea conditions. This Lagoon 620 Catamaran Review will
focus on each aspect of the 620 and how it measures up to the expectations of a sailor.
Accommodation:
The main draw of the 620 is its incredible capacity for everything. The vessel was built on a large
scale that can house all passengers in comfort. The boat is almost a hotel room that can maneuver over
water. The cockpit, galley, and saloon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is 62 feet long and 31 feet wide, making it decidedly bigger than your traditional catamaran. The
size shouldn t fool you, however. The vessel is stable and the size probably works in its favor in this
capacity. The motion of the boat is not as obvious as with a smaller vessel, creating a smoother ride.
Weather conditions also have a lesser impact onboard the 620, so controlling the vessel is practically
unaffected by moderate seas or rain.
Under Sail:
The advantage of a vessel of this size is that it is more difficult to displace by waves and weather. The
design is sold and massive, so the boat is almost like a boulder in the water in relation to the seas. The
620 can cut a swath through the water cleanly and efficiently with almost no effort. The vessel creates
the illusion that you are in command of not only the vessel, but the sea as well. This boat certainly
makes you feel like royalty!
Interior:
Luxuriousness bordering on opulence is the best way to describe the interior of the 620. The cabins
are huge and can accommodate more people without piling everyone on top of each other. The saloon
and galley have enough space to allow passengers to spread out and relax or entertain each other. The
cook can also communicate with passengers due to open design that increases the space and lends
itself to socializing. Storage space is ample and there is no worry that comfort or personal items will
need to be sacrificed to make room for

Essay On Embryonic Stem Cells
Stem cells can become many different types. Later in life, stem cells also can replace worn out or
damaged cells. Embryonic stem cells can be grown relatively easily in culture. These cells come from
embryos that are three to five days old. Embryonic stem cells can become all cell types of the body
because they are pluripotent. These are pluripotent stem cells, meaning they can divide into more stem
cells or can become any type of cell in the body. Adult stem cells are thought to be limited to
differentiating into different cell types of their tissue of origin. Unlike embryonic stem cells, adult
stem cells cannot transform into any and every cell type. These stem cells have been identified in
many organs and tissues, including brain, bone marrow, peripheral blood, blood vessels, skeletal
muscle, skin, teeth, heart, gut, liver, ovarian epithelium, and testis. ... Show more content on

Regarding the research on human stem cells, the intention is important. Stem cell research treats
human beings as non humans is considered immoral. The hope going forward is that stem cells can
also be used as a renewable source of replacement cells and tissues to treat common and serious
diseases without the need for organ transplants or surgeries, including: macular degeneration, spinal
cord injury, stroke, burns, heart disease, diabetes. No end believed to be good. For example, although
every oak tree was once an acorn, it does not mean that acorns are oak trees or that we should treat the
loss of an acorn as the same kind of loss as the death of an oak tree. Up to embryonic day 14, the
blastocyst has no central nervous system and, therefore, cannot be considered sensate. Philosophers

Colonial Motivations
There were various motivations for establishing colonies in the New World. From the perspective of
the settlers, one could conclude there were two primary motivations, religious freedom, and wealth.
Depending upon one s status in the colonial times, one could consider wealth as having an abundance
of land and natural resources, not necessarily power or an abundance of gold per say. Therefore, the
poor, rich, and middle class had their own expectations of wealth and religious freedom that motivated
establishing the colonies. Similarly, the European powers that were sending supplies and funding the
colonial establishments were driven to expand their wealth and impose their religious principles. In

Marketing Stragety
Executive Summary: In this project, I have compared the analysis, existing marketing strategies and
recommend the future strategy for both products which Cobra Beer and Kingfisher Beer. The aim of
this report is to compare both of the products in the UK market and to get the future forecast that
where both of the products have place in the market. The reason I have chosen those products is just
because I am working for Cobra Beer head office and I wasn t difficult for me to get the information

Soon afterwards, the sight of bullock carts carrying huge barrels or Hog s heads containing beer
became a household sight. These carts wheeled their way to the customers, including British troops,

history of Beer Division of United Breweries! The company was bought by late Mr. Vittal Mallya in

High Cheer Research Paper
Keep your head high, your bow higher and your confidence at the highest. Cheer is a big part of who I
am it taught me how to be loud when rooting for my team, helped me build my confidence and also to
get back up when I fall down. Pop Warner was the first group I was in for cheer and the first group I
got to do competition with. The practices were also outside with no mats. It was the first time I started
to learn how to jump, stunt and make cheers. Getting high and level jumps are a struggle since day
one. Each day you want to improve but you have to work hard. Stunting is a lot of fun except when
you get dropped. You have to be super careful or you will hurt yourself or others. I learned to get back
up again when I fall. Cheers are everything, they help you cheer on your team and you can show off a
bit. When we got our first uniforms and I was as happy as can be. The uniforms and bows make you
feel like a real cheerleader. They mean a lot, especially your first one. It was a great time to make
friends and great bonds. My first friendships started there, right on the grassy cheer and football field.
You grow up with these people for years and get to know them and create special ... Show more

After doing four years of Pop Warner cheer next came middle school cheer. During those years we got
into the more complex moves, stunts, got mats but lost the ability to do competitions. Having more
complex moves makes a high chance of getting hurt and it happens a lot. We also got the shot to make
a dance and be able to perform them at games. We got old wrestling mats to use but they were not
very protective. We sadly could not compete anymore. Unfortunately, our school could not afford it so
we were stuck cheering for football, which was the best times and also

Nursing Practice Implications
Practice Implications
As a student, it can often be challenging to apply research findings into practice, even more so at
earlier levels of nursing programs. When involved in surgical care around appendicitis, among the
many actions which can be done, the arguably most important intervention which can be applied is
continual perioperative care (Lewis, 2014).
Frequent patient assessment can prevent a variety of complications in appendectomy patients. After
this gastrointestinal surgery with abdominal incisions, patients may have an increased risk of
contracting paralytic ileus, or peristalsis cessation (Lewis, 2014). This can result in various other
concerns arising, meaning that prevention and early intervention can greatly improve patient ... Show

Salminen et al. (2015) found that there was a sufficiently high success rate to warrant antibiotic
treatment for appendicitis as an option presented to the patient. Nurses should advocate for their
patients by raising awareness that antibiotic therapy has been shown to be a viable treatment for
appendicitis. Thus, should surgery be contraindicated for any reason, alternative therapy is available to
treat the condition. This includes lobbying institutions and agencies to culture the appendix, if
possible. This way, as the patient is on general antibiotics for appendicitis, more specific medication
can be available in order to administer more efficient and safe care to patients with

World War I And The Great Depression
Origin and history
As Canada was maturing, many currencies were circulating throughout the colonies. It was not until
the Province of Canada s revised Currency Act of 1857 that dollars and cents were recognized as the
only official units of Canadian currency (Vardy, J., 2005, p 3) Silver and bronze coins, denominated in
cents and bearing the word Canada issued for the first time in 1858, were the first distinctive Canadian
Currency . This currency was referred to as Dominion Notes and could be issued by commercial
banks, private enterprises and governments (Vardy, J. , 2005,p 3). These notes became the official
currency of Canada in 1876 (Vardy, J., 2005, p 3).

1935.
The Bank of Canada immediately took over bank note operations from the Department of Finance.
Offices of the Receiver General across the country became agencies of the new central bank. The
Foreign Exchange and Securities Divisions started work right away, and a Research Division was
established to advise on financial developments and business conditions (Watts, G., Rymes, T., 1993,
p.9). Vardy, J. states in the The Bank of Canada: An illustrated history that the Bank of Canada was
privately owned with shares (at a par value of $50) sold to the public. Soon after the Bank began
operations, a new government introduces an amendment to the Bank of Canada Act to nationalize the
institution. In 1938, the privately held shares were purchased by the government and the Bank became
entirely publically owned (Watts, G., Rymes, T., 1993, p.9) as it remains today.
Structure and role
The Bank of Canada is a central bank and not a commercial bank. In other words it does not deal with
the general public or business transactions. The Band of Canada deals with the Canadian government
and some Canadian, Foreign central banks and international financial institutions. The Bank of
Canada s role in the economic life of Canada and its citizens is to keep inflations low and stable and is
aimed at keeping the inflation predictable by incorporating monetary policies that influence the level
of interest

  • 6. The Value Of The Currency Alone Will Not Improve The Trade... There are too many factors that may limit the growth needed to reach the balance to get out of debt. Devaluing the currency alone will not improve the trade balance. Instead, there becomes a need to limit the consumption. In the case of food imports, which accounts for about 12 percent of import expenditure in Sri Lanka, the government expects the price increases to result in import substitution, which will likely take time. The most forceful argument for devaluation is that it ensures the competitiveness of exports. The question here is whether the extent of depreciation would be adequate to ensure that the real effective exchange rate would ensure competitiveness. Again, there are some governments that do try to attempt to influence the value of their currency by ways of intervention. The most notable offender in recent years is that of China, who has sought to keep its currency undervalued to make Chinese exports more competitive against other heavily traded Asian markets. They can do this by buying US dollar assets, which increases the value of the US dollar to Chinese Yuan ratio. (Factors Which Influence the Exchange Rate) Because the current financial status is so heavily dependent on exporting, the continuous management of the exchange rate to ensure export competitiveness is essential for China and Sri Lanka. A reduction in exports could affect the economy seriously as a decline in exports could affect economic growth, employment and incomes. (Sanderatne) It has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For Adam Smith, the development of a commercial society produced a social structure divided into three classes, landowners, capitalists, and labourers, the three great constituent orders of every civilized society (Smith, 1998:27). Thus, Smith s ideal society would be of people would work for themselves. He was a strong advocate for free market and posed strong opposition to the feudal system. He, along with other Enilghtenment thinkers, believed that the State had no legitmate role in the free market. Smith s defence of the free market was tied to the belief that state interference with the market benefits the rich and hurts the poor(Lecture Notes, 2001:5). Therefore, Adam Smith s vision of an ideal society was one in which most people are involved in independent commodity production(Lecture Notes, 2001:5). Thus for society to develop and prosper as a whole, its individual members must serve their self interests. Jean Jacques Rousseau s work, in contrast to Smith s, gives attention to the social inequalities within society created by social development. Rousseau believes the social development that the Scottish Enlightenment thinkers advocate, actually create a web of problems that previously did not exist. These interactions can be analyzed by developing a framework based on Artificial Life. This calls for the development of an Artificial Life based Software Ecosystem model. This paper proposes a framework using Artificial Life in the Software Ecosystem. In order to find the gaps in the existing methodologies, extensive literature review has been carried out. A SE considers the concept of evolution of the software in the same way as the evolution of a natural ecosystem. It has been pointed out by many researchers that considering the system s evolution would lead to a better and comprehensive analysis of the software which would ultimately help in management and development of new versions. The point can be understood by the following analogy. If we consider that evolution of a human being, then what humans have done in order to achieve, what they have been able to ... Use the rot13 encoding algorithm to encode the following sentence: It is critical for network administrators to understand cryptography. There are several websites that will encrypt in rot13. Answer 6 1: Substitution ciphers are a method of encryption by which units of plaintext are substituted with ciphertext according to a regular system; the units may be single letters (the most common), pairs of letters, triplets of letters, mixtures of the above, and so forth (WordNik, 2014). In other words, if you re sending a message (plaintext) you want to keep secret, it can be transformed into an enciphered message (cipertext) using a different alphabet. The person receiving the message will then have to decrypt it. Transposition cipers are simple data encryption schemes in which plaintext characters are shifted in some regular pattern to form ciphertext (Gustavus, 2014). In other words, it s a simpler way to send secret messages; however, it isn t as secure and can be decrypted easily. In addition, it is clear that the Abiku is returning when the ground is wet with mourning/White dew suckles flesh birds (Soyinka 21 22). In contrast, one significant difference between the poems by Soyinka and Clark is the format, as one is written in block form and the other is in stanzas. First, the piece by Soyinka contains stanzas, which are used to group specific ideas and themes together, as well as indicate a shift into a new idea. However, the primary use of this format in Abiku is to demonstrate the many lives of the Abiku as it continues to torment its mother. This also adds to the belief in incarnation of the African people. Conversely, Clark use block style poetry in order to demonstrate the circular manner of the Abiku s numerous reincarnations. There is no separation between the lines, showing that the Abiku keeps on returning with very little break in between. Literature Review In the article, The Concept of Discourse Community, John Swales defines what a discourse community is, and yet, he strongly argues that a discourse community must meet six specific characteristics. A social group must have a set of common goals, methods of intercommunication between its members, feedback, the usage of genres, a determined lexis, and a rank that defines the level of expertise each member has. With that being said, Swales highlights the need of a clarification of what differs a discourse community from a speech community. In Erik s Borg (2003) article, Discourse community , the concept of a speech community refers to actual people who recognize their language use as different from other language users. (p.398) Additionally, Swales states that discourse communities recruits its members by persuasion, training, or relevant qualification and speech communities recruits its [members] by birth, accident or adoption . Even though speech communities do share similar linguistic rules among its members, norms, and theories, they do not share common a common goal. They lack communication among its members, and lastly, they do not accomplish the utilization of genres like a discourse community does. In the tragic play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the local priest, Friar Laurence, loved to make plans. He tried to make peace between rival family s, the Capulets, and the Montagues. He devised many risky plans involving the two teens Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. Friar Lawrence s plans included Romeo and Juliet s secret marriage, Romeo s Banishment, and Juliet s fake death. All of these plans affected the characters and the outcome of the play. Friar Lawrence s first plan, to marry Romeo and Juliet is what really started this whole mess. • 24. The Giving Tree By Shel Silverstein Meaning The Giving Tree is a sentimental poem by Shel Silverstein. The main lesson of this poem revolves around absolute selflessness, it s evident. However, despite this essential, meaningful teaching, there are other underlying themes that are just as influential, if not more. These other lessons, perhaps, are vital to a happy life. The Giving Tree preaches around ideas like: going barefoot, just being there for someone, and that happiness is a place between too much and too little. The relevancy of these life lessons are indescribable. Firstly, going barefoot might be the way to walk. The meaning of this short phrase conveys that the stress free life of a naive child running barefoot in the yard is something taken for granted. People are too busy pushing kids into their future that they forget, sometimes childhood is what they should be revisiting. The hardships of life is something only people with a certain maturity can fully effect. Once there was a tree....and she loved a little boy. The purpose of spending a day without technology is to detoxify ourselves from the continuous barrage of information. Just as Mark Bittman mentions in his article, I felt connected to myself rather than my computer. I had time to think, and distance from normal demands. (4) We are so accustomed to rely on technology that we seem to forget what would become of us without it. Internet, radio, television, cell phones, video games and other technological amenities are part of our daily life, in a way that sometimes we can not see reality outside a screen. We have shelved conversations face to face, the pleasure of enjoying the birds sing or simply appreciate nature around us. Professor David Levy declares, Living a good life requires a kind of balance, a bit of quiet. There are questions about the limits of the brain and the body, and there are parallels here to the environmental movement. (2) Talking about the environment, not only helps us to live without the use of technology for one day but it helps the environment as well. A great way to save money and take care of the environment is to decide to give up the technology just for one day. We need to take care of our soul or inner self or however we want to call it, not for vanity but sanity. After she predicted the defeat of the French army outside of Orleans, her cause began to gain ground. She finally went to see the king with three escorts. She dressed in man s clothing, probably to protect her modesty in the rough terrain of the military camp, and on March 6 she reached Chinon. Two days later she was admitted to see the King Charles VII. To test her, he disguised himself in the crowd as a regular person, but she saluted him immediately. The king had her sent to be examined by doctors and bishops, they found nothing wrong with her or heretic about her speech. She then returned to Chinon where Charles VII gave her a sword, which she refused and asked for the one that she said was buried behind the altar in the chapel of Ste Catherine de Fierbois. Charles VII did what she asked and sent people to look for this sword; it was found in the very spot she had indicated. • 28. How Trap Is A Sport That I Have Been Enjoyed For Over Four... Trap is a sport that I have been enjoying for over four years. Learning more about it for the purpose of this research paper is something that was enjoyable. This paper will cover the history of the sport, some of the equipment and entry costs involved, and provide some highlights of basic gun safety required for any trap shooter. Trap shooting began in the U.S. around 1825. Shooters typically used shotguns to fire at targets thrown, and later launched, into the air. The first U.S. recorded trap match was conducted in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1931. These early shooting competitions used live birds for the targets, as had been the history in Europe where the sport originated. America, however, led the way in developing artificial targets for trap competitions. The first targets were glass balls that contained feathers. The greatest trap shooters of the 19th century included Adam Bogardus, Ira Paine and Annie Oakley. In a one day exhibition, Bogardus broke 5,681 glass balls before missing, and Oakley shot 4,722 of 5,000 glass balls released. In pistol, the first recorded match was in 1860 and it was a duel between two men who shot nine inch China plates from a distance of 100 feet. The winner broke 11 out of 15 plates. In 1865, Buffalo Bill Cody produced shooting pistol exhibitions, which further promoted the sport of shooting throughout the rest of the United States. The Italians of the 14th to 16th century were the first to practice the use of Arabic, rather than Roman, numerals for tracking business accounts. Luca Pacioli was acknowledged as the Father of Accounting and Bookkeeping. However, he was not the one who invented the double entry bookkeeping system but he was the one who started to spread this knowledge and the first to publish his work on this system. The principles published by him remain mostly unchanged until today. Before his work, Benedetto Cotrugli wrote Delia Mercatura et del Mercante Perfetto (Of Trading and the Perfect Trader), that touches briefly about the features of double entry bookkeeping. North Korea is governed under an authoritarian dictatorship. Some countries are monarchies governed by hereditary rulers. But whether these are good forms of government depends on whether they achieve the purposes of government. For example, the Apostle Paul said that the purpose of government was to punish evildoers, or said another way, to secure the peace. (Romans 13:40) Another example is the US Constitution that says government has six purposes: to secure unity, justice, domestic tranquility, defense, general welfare and liberty. He is as strong as 20 men; he is of cunning more than mortal, for his cunning be the growth of ages... He can transform himself into wolf... He can be as bat. He can come in mist which he can create... He can appear as elemental dust and become small. He can, when once he find his way, come out from anything or into anything, no matter how close it be bounce or fused up with fire... he can also see in the dark. ...he can, within his range, direct the elements: the storm, the fog, the thunder; he can command all the meaner things: the rat, and the owl, and the bat the moth, and the fox, and the wolf; he can grow and become small; and he can at times vanish and come unknown. (Bram Stoker s Dracula pg. 287). This quote shows directly just how powerful vampires can be in battle. No human army in the world would be a match for a vampire led army, much less an army of vampires. If a vampire became threatened he or she could just vanish into thin air, raise a storm to the detriment of his enemies, summon animals to assail for it, drown its enemies in water, burn its enemies with the snap of its fingers, or just simply attack them with his/her own hands. According to Count Dracula in Bram Stoker s Dracula, men of the Dracula blood were great leaders in battle and can boast a record that mushroom growths like the Hapsburgs and the Romanoffs can never reach. When involved in surgical care around appendicitis, among the many actions which can be done, the arguably most important intervention which can be applied is continual perioperative care (Lewis, 2014). Frequent patient assessment can prevent a variety of complications in appendectomy patients. After this gastrointestinal surgery with abdominal incisions, patients may have an increased risk of contracting paralytic ileus, or peristalsis cessation (Lewis, 2014). This can result in various other concerns arising, meaning that prevention and early intervention can greatly improve patient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Salminen et al. (2015) found that there was a sufficiently high success rate to warrant antibiotic treatment for appendicitis as an option presented to the patient. Vardy, J. states in the The Bank of Canada: An illustrated history that the Bank of Canada was privately owned with shares (at a par value of $50) sold to the public. Soon after the Bank began operations, a new government introduces an amendment to the Bank of Canada Act to nationalize the institution. In 1938, the privately held shares were purchased by the government and the Bank became entirely publically owned (Watts, G., Rymes, T., 1993, p.9) as it remains today. Structure and role The Bank of Canada is a central bank and not a commercial bank. In other words it does not deal with the general public or business transactions. The Band of Canada deals with the Canadian government and some Canadian, Foreign central banks and international financial institutions. The Bank of Canada s role in the economic life of Canada and its citizens is to keep inflations low and stable and is aimed at keeping the inflation predictable by incorporating monetary policies that influence the level of interest ...
