Mike Different again. I didn’t leave school at 18, and I didn’t go to university. In fact, I left
school at 16 and got a job.

C How lovely! So what was she like?
G She was very, very, er… well, she was very funny, (yeah) and, er, she was very old-
fashioned, (right) and she liked people to speak properly.
C Yes. And how long was she your teacher?
G Oh, I think about er, four or five years.
C Hm, did you like her?
G Very much, very much.
C And when did you last see her?
G I think it must have been about ten years ago.
C Ah.
