Media Should Respect Privacy of Public Figures Essay
The Media Should Respect Privacy of Public Figures
How much privacy of the individual is protected under the United States Constitution? Every one
is entitled to the right of privacy, but to what extent is that privacy granted? Public figures are
constantly being harassed and photographed by the media. Some photographers and reporters will
go to any means, even illegal actions, to get a picture or story. However, public figuresare human
beings like everyone else, and the media should give them more privacy. The media needs to
operate with more respect for both laws and for moral and ethical codes of conduct. There are laws
establishing the privacy of an individual, and the media needs to extend these rights to public
figures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, the Supreme Court ruled in the 1964 Sullivan v. New York Timescase that
vulnerability is taken as a price of admission to the public arena. Thus, the privilege to cover public
figures is almost unlimited, and public figures have few privacy rights.
People reasonably expect privacy inside a house or fenced yard not visible from the street and
inside living facilities such as in hospitals and nursing homes. Photographers need permission to
both enter and photograph these private places. However, anyone is fair game to be
photographed and have their picture published if the photo was taken from a public place. This
includes people seen through the windows of their own home (Dill, 178). However, one New
York Court ruled that photographers shooting inside a restaurant needed permission because the
restaurant was a public place for purposes of dining, and patrons dining there should reasonably
be allowed to dine in peace (Dill, 177). Even though it is currently legal to photograph public
figures in the privacy of their own homes, ethically speaking it does not mean these pictures should
be published. However, because ethical codes are not working, there needs to be legal reform.
Additionally, breaking and entering or using trickery, impersonation, fraud and disguise to gain
admission to a private area are illegal. Even though these acts are illegal, some members of the
media still break the law to get the picture or story they want. Often times,

History of Space Exploration
Introduction to the History of space exploration
To start the researching of the future of the space exploration the very first thing we should do is
to look through a history of this particular topic. The main reason for this is because the history is
a fundamental background for our understanding and knowledge. Aeronautical engineering does
not have a long and deep history, compared to many things. Moreover, some information cannot be
proved nowadays and that is why the only one thing that we can do is to suppose and rely on
accessible sources.
Every year we are using more and more modern technologies in order to try to explore our solar
system, unknown planets and deep space. However, we should think that our ancestors could not
even believe that the physical space exploration will ever become a reality since antiquity.
(Aerospace, n.d.)
When we ponder over the early history of the space investigation we encounter the unquestionable
fact that it used to be mostly theoretical. For instance, Isaac Newton established his book about the
required mathematics knowledge for space exploring in 1687 (BBC Isaac Newton, 2014). There
are some other people, like a Swiss scientist Leonhard Euler and Italian mathematician Joseph Louis
Lagrange who were undoubtedly necessary in the 18th and 19th centuries with their scientific
works. In spite of all the factors, aeronautics has not become a practical discipline until the middle
of the 20th century (Galileo Rice, n.d.).

Why Good People Do Bad Things
Why do good people do bad things? It s a question repeatedly asked throughout the decades and
with recent studies,it seems people in groups are more deadly than others. In this essay,I will be
giving my take on why I think good people in groups do bad things.
Starting as early as March 15,44 B.C.,Gaius Julius Caesar was murdered by a group of rebellious
senators. He started out as a Roman politician and general who played a huge role in the demise of
the Roman republic and the rise of the Roman empire. After several political conflicts occurred
Cassius used his power to influence and persuade to get Brutus to commit to killing Caesar. After
they were all convicted of murder and sentenced to death,Brutus was overwhelmed with guilt, and

The Characteristics Of Animals And Environments
Rationale
Standards
SC.5.L15 asserts that Earth is a home to a great diversity of living things whose survival depends
on the changes in the environment. However, individuals of the same kind usually differ in
characteristics, and such differences give individuals an advantage to survive and reproduce in
certain environments (CPALMS, 2015).
Real Life Applications
When observing the different characteristics of animals and environments, it is possible to
determine the kind of environment that a particular animal is likely to survive better in. The
knowledge about the characteristics of animals helps in classifying animals in different
environments they seem to be best adapted to survive. It is also important how their individual ...

The Global Economy Has Suffered And Pushed Through Many...
In the year 2015, the global economy has suffered and pushed through many hurdles. In the first
quarter, the American economy made a painstakingly slow progress in many places, while still
dealing with other key players in the global market that had potential to hurt the markets even
further. Greece and China have both caused lots of worry throughout the world; Greece not using
the Euro as their currency could have hurt the market, as well as China s government devaluing
their own currency, causing a ripple effect throughout other markets. World trade itself has
shrunken, adding new fire to the already blazing financial crisis at hand. Some would even argue
that the first and second quarter of 2015 were the worst performing quarters that the world has
seen in a very long time. Back in the 1990 s, growth in world trade was generally faster than
growth in the GDP, or gross domestic product. However, recently this has changed both have
scaled back. Hyperglobalization, a term used to describe the process of international intergration
that arises from interchanging world views, products, ideas, and other aspects of culture, had
begun by China s gaining their own sovereignty, the former Soviet Union, and a reduction in trade
barriers, as well as the creation of WTO (world trade organization. The expansion of global supply

The Dignity Of Human Life Essay
David Swenson, who was born in Sweden and was a professor of University of Minnesota. He is
well known to the public for his publication of the article called The Dignity of Human Life ,
which was originally published in 1949 and currently still could be found in many philosophy
books (Klemke, 2008). The article of The dignity of Humanlife contains several different valuable
ideas of the subject to human life and also includes some great conclusions at the final. One of
David s conclusion is that people besides learning and acquiring practical skills from the formal
education or training. People also need something more than the practical skills, which is
something of a different nature and it is something someone concludes self. Swenson states that
youth requires developing a view of life in order to become a good person in moral and
developed personalities. The view of life is not acquired through training and learning provided
by general means of formal education or experience, but is obtained individually through
thinking over someone s life, self exploring and subjective conviction. The reason for developing
such view of life is that view of life is the mean of giving one s life. it is a principle of living, a
spirit and an attitude capable of maintaining its unity and identity with itself in all of life s
complexities and varying vicissitudes. Said by Swenson. It is the sense, dignity and worth.
Otherwise, a life cannot be considered to be as living in a human

Summary Of The Poem Mirror By Sylvia Plath
The poem Mirror, by Sylvia Plath, was written in 1961. The poem takes place during a time when
women s reflections were changing quickly, and women s movement was becoming more
important. According to Kristine Tucker in The Overall Meaning of the Poem Mirror, she states,
The Mirror was written by SylviaPlath in 1961 but wasn t published until 1971, eight years after
her death by suicide. Therefore, presuming the lady in the mirror is Plath, readers assume she
wrote the poem referring to her personal life and her struggle with depression due to her appearance.
Sylvia Plath s poem Mirror is about a woman who gets older as the mirror watches her. At first, the
mirror is silver and exact (1). The mirror does not judge; however, it swallows what it sees and
reflects that image back (2). The mirror is also not cruel, only truthful (4), and considers itself a
four cornered eye of a god (5). Therefore, the mirror sees everything for what it is, and does not
lie. The mirror looks across the empty room most of the time (6) and meditates on the pink
speckled wall across from it (7). The mirror is attached to the wall, and has looked at that wall
for so long, that the wall is thought to be part of my heart (8). The darkness in the room and the
people who consider the mirror are the faces and darkness that separate the woman and the mirror
(9). In the next stanza, the mirror is now portraying itself as a lake (10). A woman is looking into
the lake (10), and she is

My Volunteering Experience At Children s Hospital Colorado
Throughout the years I feel that I ve had a number of valuable experiences, my most significant
experience is my volunteering experience at Children s Hospital Colorado. I still remember
feeling utterly terrified on my first day volunteering, pondering all the possible ways things could
go wrong. I suddenly felt as though I have never experienced this before. I was on my own,
responsible for myself and all of my actions.
On my first day volunteering, I found myself doing deliveries on the sterile patient floors. There
was a type of silence that made me nervous. I couldn t hear a word of casual chatter, or people
carelessly laughing. It felt completely different from what I was used to hearing on a day to day
bases.
I went on my search to find the room that I was delivering the gift to, while following all the
rules that were established at my orientation. At the time, the task seemed odd, I didn t expect it to
be something I would be doing when I started out. Everything seemed new, and different, it
allowed me to view thing that differed from the protected scope I looked through my entire life.

Volunteering at Children s Hospitaloffered me an experience that pushed me to strive for no less
than excellence. By volunteering, I watched my dreams and ambitions get closer, and although

The Importance Of Banning Books
Should Schools Be Able To Ban Books? Now somewhere in America, there is a child holding a
copy of Catcher in the Rye and there is a child holding a gun But only one of these things have

one that says f you on more pages than one Because we must control what the people say, and
how they think and if they want to become the overseer of their own selves, then we ll show
them a real one. And somewhere in America, there s a child sitting at his mother s computer,

more about topics that educate them and help them gain understanding of something they care
about. Leigh also added, If your child s first encounter with a swear word is in an eleventh grade
reading assignment, or if their exposure to violence by the age of, say, ten is limited solely to
The Hunger Games, I hereby accuse you of invoking supernatural parenting powers. In making
this comment Leigh s point is that in a world filled with media there is little to chance your child
doesn t know what violence is or the basis of a controversial topic such as drug use. Maybe your
child doesn t know much about these topics but knowledge is our greatest weapon and without it
your child could stumble into a bad situation with no defenses. Leigh finally stated in her
conclusion, The Feminine Mystique was the spark that ignited second wave feminism, and The
Jungle prompted the passage of the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906. The founding of
evolutionary biology in Darwin s On the Origin of Species continues to impact scientific theory
across the globe, and the African American Civil Rights Movement can find roots in Native Son.

Guantanamo Bay Essay
Under the Bush Administration, beginning with the election of President Bush in 2000 and
running until early 2009, Guantanamo Bay was filled with suspected 9/11 terrorists from the
Taliban and al Qaeda due to the relatively recent outbreak of the war on terror. Large steps were
taken by the Bush Administration toward near guarantees of containing those responsible for the
War, which can be summed up in a human rights article by Martin Flaherty, [...] the Bush
Administration adopted what it asserted were three necessary and appropriate means that would
serve as principal ways to pursue the Global War on Terror, (36). These three means were indefinite

By including this vision of closing Guantanamo as a part of his presidential campaign, Obama
gained great support from the public. Once elected, Obama acted on his promise to close
Guantanamo on his second day as President, shown by Scott Horton in his article on
Guantanamo, He (Obama) created an inter agency task force to advise him on the specifics of
this process and to create future guidelines for the detention of terrorism suspects captured abroad,
(1). The overall shift in opinion on Guantanamo in both citizens and high up leaders of the
country, however, was a result of many factors occurring around the time of Obama s election.
First, while Guantanamo processes and descriptions were long held from the public under war
time confidentiality, more information leaked out as the war settled down, including a basic
description of Camp X ray, which was, consisting of small cages with chain link sides, concrete
floors and metal roofs, offering scant shelter from the elements, and with very basic sanitary
facilities, (Living Conditions). Methods of torture also became more nationally known, reinforcing
the shifting opinion against Guantanamo. Finally, one of the largest reasons for Obama s push to
close Guantanamo was due to the lack of empirical evidence proving detainees guilty (Horton 12).

Sonoran Desert Research Paper
In class, we have been studying snakes in the Sonoran desert. While learning about snakes we
found four that look very identical having the same stripes, a reddish orangish color, black and
white skin. They have a similar pattern of stripes. We decided to find out why would snakes like
these would live in the Sonoran desert. The guiding question was, Why do the Sonoran coral
snake, the Sonoran Mountain kingsnake, the milk snake and the Sonoran shovel nosed snake look
similar? Before answering the guiding question evidence needed to be collected. We confirmed
that all the snakes are not from the same species, which means that their similarities don t have to
do with heredity. We also confirmed that their predators, the Ferruginous hawk, cooper s hawk, and

can assume that the other snakes use batesian mimicry, which is when an animal resembles a

natural selection. Natural selection is when an organism naturally lets go of a trait that is useless
for instance, penguins lost their feathery wings because they don t require it to survive like all the

The critical responses provided in the Penguin Books edition of Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys,
states: the only difference between [Jane and Antoinette] is their positons, one is on the edge of the

importance of this difference and fails to see how it affects the how each of the characters are

Jane narrates throughout Jane Eyre. Antoinette shares narration with her husband, the implied Mr
Rochester and Grace Poole. Jane s prolonged mastery of her narrative when considered in

The Beginning Of Renaissance Art
The beginning of Renaissance art can be tracked all the way back to Italy in the late 13th and early
14th and 15th centuries. During this Renaissance period, Italian scholars and artists saw themselves
as bringing back the ideals and achievements of Roman culture. Their art tried to capture the
experience of the individual and the beauty and mystery of the natural world. The Italian
Renaissancewas considered a rebirth of old values in art such as literature and philosophy. It was a
period for the artist to develop that aimed for the revival of naturalism. Its influence moved through
Europe and brought back the cultural and scientific ideas that shaped artistic pieces for the next half
a century. Stefano Da Verona was an Italian artist who

Instead of having flat, stiff images, faces had not looked more realistic as bodies were painted in
more realistic form as their poses looked more human like, and figures now expressed real

fluidity and not as much detail.. Although Giotto in this time period had strived towards adding a
perspective, it wasn t until the arrival of the architects Brunelleschi and Leon Battista Alberti that it

late during the Renaissance. A time called the High Renaissance . Despite the growing realism
being achieved in their art, High Renaissance artists such as Dossi aimed for beauty, and harmony
more than realism, which was the focus in the past. Their paintings may have been based on nature
but they had no interest in replication. Instead they looked for the ultimate beauty within the
picture. This provoked artists towards the idea of perfection. Greek philosophy actually influenced
this style in the high Renaissance. It provided the secret of the perfect human type with its
proportions, muscular structure, oval face, triangular forehead, straight nose, and balance with the
weight on one hip, which can be seen in the immensely expressive sculpture of Michelangelo
(Botticelli). The difference in the paintings between the two time periods

FBI Case study
An organization s design is made keeping in mind the decision making principle of the company
and the flow of information (both formal and informal) within the company. Four organizational
structures are the most common to all organizations, namely: hierarchical, flat, matrix and
networked.
The hierarchical structure comprises of a top level management and keeps getting segmented to
different levels depending on the work that has to be done. The decision making is done by the
topmost level management in the structure while the lower level work force follows the rules
made by their seniors. The lower levels are grouped basing on their department of function such as
marketing, sales, production etc., or they are divided as divisional teams ... Show more content on

In the FBI case, it was their lack of information among departments that caused the ineffectiveness
of its performance. In the article Who killed the Virtual Case File? it is clearly identified that the
gaps in information made it difficult to solve issues in crime and terrorism.
Though the senior management in both the company cultures showed failure in embracing
technology for example in the case of FBI paper work was followed instead of using electronic
documentation, FBI also failed to identify the use of database in a smart and effective manner to
store and share information securely among departments. This was however not the case with
Kodak. It was the reluctance of senior management to accept the new technology though they
identified the new horizon of business identified by them.
Though Kodak had flaws with decision making by its senior management, they have acted upon not
making hierarchical structure as their organization s framework. Another article called Lessons
from the past by Jessica Lipnack and Jeffrey Stamps on Turning Hierarchy on its Side explains the
famous Pizza organization of Eastman Kodak. This structure encourages that company to
communicate horizontally and not vertically. There is no up or down chain of command, instead it
is a cross sectional approach. Though it maintains hierarchy, the CEO s role is more central in the
structure rather than

Leadership Of An Organization And Making Decision
When managing an organization and making decision, it is important to develop leadership
skills. Leadership is multi faceted and there are many different approaches that are used in
leadership. What is leadership? Leadership is the ability to influence a group toward the
achievement of a vision or a set of goals. (Robbins Judge p. 385) Leaders are those who have the
influence to motivate people to take a vision and put it into action. Often, people in management
have assumed positions of leadership, meaning because of the nature of their position, they will
have to make leadership decisions and influence those they lead toward a goal or vision.
Problem Statement
Although someone in a management position may have to assume a leadership role, it does not
mean that this person is automatically fit to lead. Just because an organization provides its
managers with certain formal rights is not assurance that they will be able to lead effectively.
(Robbins Judge p. 12) Sometimes, leaders emerge from a group without having a formal title or
position. With the need for organizations to have not only strong management but strong leadership,
it is important to fit the leader s leadership style to the situation. Finding the right leader for the
position is not the only concern however. It is also important to have leaders who are ethical and
that can be trusted. Unfortunately, making sure leaders act with proper ethical values is largely
overlooked

Essay on Ethos, Pathos, Logos Kings Letter to Birmingham
Ethos, Pathos amp; Logos in The Letter from Birmingham Jail Some varieties of inspiration come
as passionate love while others appeal as injustice as did Martin Luther King in his Letter from
Birmingham Jail. Martin Luther King Jr. effectively crafted his counter argument by first directly
addressing his audience, the clergymen, and then using logos, pathos, and ethos to refute his
opponent s statements and present his own perspective. After stating the general purpose of his
letter, Martin Luther King Jr. specifically addressed the clergymen to set up for his logical
counterargument. First Martin Luther King effectively makes use of logos throughout his letter. He

Vladimir Putin s Plea For Ethos
Plea for Ethos: Vladimir Putin You re either with us or against us. This statement was made by
Russian President Vladimir Putin in his op ed piece, A Plea for Caution from Russia printed in The
New York Times on September 11, 2013, as he discussed American foreign policy. President Putin
tries to establish he is with us , through ethos in this address to the American public. Over time
ethos, the ethical appeal, has come to be measured by four characteristics. It is by these measures:
trustworthiness, similarity, authority, and reputation, that Putin will be weighed to determine if the
audience will accept his ethos. Is Vladimir Putintrustworthy? Trust is important when trying to
reach an audience as people are more likely to listen to people they trust. Putin tries hard to
establish this trust. He even mentions the growing trust between him and the American President as
support he is trustworthy. This comes across as disingenuous as his words throughout the article
seem to drip with veiled threats that failure to back him could lead to him not backing an
American agenda. His actions themselves often appear to be in contradiction to what he asks of
America. The title of his article pleads... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Siddhartha Enlightenment Journey
Siddhartha, by Hermann Hesse is a about a young man who wanted to find spiritual enlightenment.
He wants to find this spiritual enlightenment because he isn t pleased with his current lifestyle. His
family s original religion was Brahmin, but now he wants to switch to a Semana. He attempted to
find enlightenment using different spiritual pathways, but he ends up finding enlightenment among
a river. Herman Hesse uses different literature lenses to describe how Siddharthas spiritual
enlightenment journey went.
Before Siddhartha leaves to find spiritual enlightenment he wants to get his father s approval first.
His father feels angry about the decision that he is about to make and says he will end up dying in
the wilderness. Siddhartha s father says, And would you rather die, than obey your father? This
signifies that Siddhartha s his feels angry about him wanting to become a Semana. And
sociologically it shows how much culture meant to the people living during this era. ... Show more

The Sociological Imagination And Common Sense
The Sociological Imagination was a term that was first coined by sociologist C. Wright Mills. It
could be said that definition of The Sociological Imagination is having the ability to look beyond
personal experience and realise that society is shaped by the cross over between biography and
history. Mills thought that everyone in society had the capability to think sociologically and that
this was essential to gain a deeper understanding of both their society, and their current
circumstance. This approach contradicts a more readily adopted approach by the public that
sociologists call The common sense approach . The common sense approach is a collection of
knowledge that has been acquired through little scientific merit, such as: personal experience,
gossip or anecdotal evidence. This essay will discuss and explain the difference between the
Sociological Imagination and Common Sense explanations through the use of examples to explain
the topic of sexuality. Sexuality is an issue that has been widely discussed and has often been
misunderstood by society. It has often been a misconception by members of the heterosexual
community that all lesbians want to be men. Through applying common sense, it can be understood
why people may think gay women want to be men when looking in on the lesbian community, some
lesbians prefer to express themselves and their sexuality through the way they dress and act; their
short hair, masculine clothing, wearing no make up and their macho

One medication would be the bone remodeling process. There are two different stages of the
bone remodeling process. The first stage is bone resorption. Is is the breakdown and the removal
of the bones. During respiration special cells which are osteoclasts on the bone s surface dissolve
bone tissue and create small cavities. The second stage is the bone formation. During formation
other cells also known as osteoplasts fill the cavities with new bone tissue. Bone resorption and
bone formation usually take place in close order and remain balanced. An imbalance in the bone
remodeling occurs in aging in both genders. It can occur with other conditions. An imbalance can
result in bone loss and eventually osteoporosis and broken bones. Another medication would be
anabolic drugs. Teriparatide, a form of parathyroid hormone increases the rate of bone formation
and is in a distinct category of osteoporosis medicines called anabolic drugs. The goal of
treatment with teriparatide is to build bone and lower the risk of breaking bones. This is the only
medicine for osteoporosis approved by the FDA that rebuilds bone. There are also antiresorptive
medicines. Biphoneates, calcitonin, denosumab, estrogen and estrogen agonists/antagonists are an
antiresorptive medicines. They slow the bone loss that occurs in the breakdown part of the
remodeling cycle. When people start taking these medications they stop losing bone as quickly as
before. They still make bone at the same pace as before. The bone density may increase. The
treatment goal is to prevent bone loss and lower the risk of breaking

Bottle Rocket Research Paper
There are many principles that went into the succession of the bottle rocket launch. Some could
include the amount of fuel exerted on the bottle rocket, and the angle of the rocket when launched.
A large problem that occurred during launch was that only 4 tests were able to be performed. These
were all contributing factors to the success of the bottle rocket. To start off, the main factors of
physics that could explain how and why the bottle rocket did what it did could be pressure, velocity,
mass flow rate, momentum, and inertia. The rocket was under extreme amounts of pressure when
launched, because the pressure was a high number. The velocity of the rocket was 56.47. This
means that the rocket was going around 56 meters per second. The momentum of the rocket was

This can be explained by Newton s 1st law of motion, which is the law of inertia. Newton s 1st
law states that any object at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line will remain at rest unless
compelled by an outside or internal force. In the case of the rocket, an external force that
compelled it to move was the pressure from the rocket launcher. When in motion, another force
that compelled the rocket was gravity. Gravity caused the rocket to slowly and gradually fall to
the ground. The last force that acted on the rocket was the action of hitting the ground. After the
rocket hit the ground, it bounced straight back up. This could be explained by Newton s 3rd law,
which states that every reaction has an equal and opposite reaction. The reaction of the rocket
hitting the ground had an opposite reaction of the rocket bouncing back up again. Newton s
second law is the rate of change of momentum of a body is directly proportional to the force
applied, which explains why adding more fuel made the rocket go

Walt Disney s Influence On The Entertainment Industry
Walt Disney was a very influential man to the entertainment industry. He made animation a
whole new type of entertainment. Although Walt went through many struggles and problems, he
pushed on and eventually saw results for all his hard work. Many hardships got in Disney s way
such as unsupportive parents and even bankruptcy; Walt pushed on through, always creating,
working hard, and persevering to accomplish his dream. Walter Elias Disney was born on
December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois. His father, Elias, was a carpenter when Walt was born.
Eventually, Elias and his wife, Flora, saved up enough money to start a home building company
together. Walter had four siblings: Roy, Herbert, Raymond, and Ruth (Russell 9). Because Ruth
was younger than Walt, Walt waited until the age of seven to start school so that he could start
at the same time as Ruth. Before he went to school, his mother, Flora, taught him how to read
(Russell 10). Walt grew up on the Disney family farm and worked hard on the farm. He worked
at the neighbor s farm raising corn, wheat, barley, cows, pigs, and chickens (Giltin 18). Later,
Elias grew sick, and the Disney s had to sell the farm. They moved to Kansas City (Russell 11).
Throughout Walter s schooling, he loved to be on stage directing, producing, and being on stage

The Affect of Emotional Intelligence on Effective Leadership
Emotional intelligence is the ability to manage one s own and others in order to guide one s
behavior and achieve goals (Salovey, Mayer, 2005). In simple words, EI is the ability to
perceive, control, and evaluate emotions, that is, to regulate your own emotions, and the ability to
cheer up or calm down another person. Building on the work of Mayor and Salovey (1997) and

According to the Salovey, Mayer and Caruso four branch model of emotional intelligence, it is
through the establishment of these strong interpersonal relationships that allow for leaders to
generate motivation and instill optimism and enthusiasm within his/her followers. Being able to
accurately appraise and express emotions ensures the effective communication between individuals
and thus provides them with a deeper understanding of the people they work with (Carmeli, 2013,
p791). By creating an atmosphere of cooperation and having an improved perception of emotion,
followers will be more supportive of a leader s decisions and thus be more obliged to appreciate and
promote the organization s objectives (Zeidner et al, 2004, p387). The ability to communicate
effectively with followers allows a leader to connect on an individual basis and to inspire and share

The Importance of Classifying and Distinguishing Between Independent Contractors and Employee
s
Briggs, Latisha J.
National University
Abstract Through this paper we will explore the importance of distinguishings classifications
between independent contractors and employees. We will examine identifying established
relationship between employers and workers while covering assigned roles of employees and
independent contractors. We will briefly discuss enacted laws and recommended practices to avoid
misclassification penalties and consequences. Lastly, we will explore vital factors that should be
considered while classifying workers.
The Importance of Distinguishing Classification Between Independent Contractors and Employees
Determining the classification between an independent contractor and an employee proves to be
rather complex, yet vital, regarding tax issues. Therefore, assigning correct classification is critical
to both employer and workers that carry out the labor, especially pertaining to benefits and tax
payment obligations. Organizations that classify their workers as employees assume financial
responsibility for them. Hartman asserts this by stating that, the distinction, however, is significant
for tax law compliance and categorization, for benefit plans, for cost reduction plans, and for
discrimination claims (Bennett Alexander, Hartman, 2012). Specifically, the employer s

STD s and STI s in NYC
Sexually transmitted disease is defined as in infection passed from one person to another through
sexual contact, according to the Health reference article, STDs; What They Are and How to
Prevent Them. Approximately, 19 million new cases of sexually transmitted diseases are found
every year. Sexually transmitted diseases are most easily spread by having vaginal, oral, or anal
sex. Shaking hands hugging or simply touching are not really ways to transmit sexually transmitted
diseases. Research shows that most sexually transmitted diseases are transmitted through the
mucous membranes of the penis, vulva (female genitalia), vagina and the mouth. The mouth is

Reality Television Has A Negative Effect On Teenage Girls
Reality Television is a relatively new phenomenon that has exploded over the last several years.
Whether it has to do with an extreme makeover or finding the supposed love of your life, reality
television has given us the opportunity to become voyeurs in others lives. Approximately, 50% of
television audiences are watching reality shows (Webster University). Long gone are the days of
whole televisionprograms. Today, most reality shows depict women as an object, only defined and
valued by their sexuality. What kind of message is this sending to young girls? The purpose of this
study is to show that reality televisioncan have a negative effect on teenage girls. This matters
because it can lead to the sexualization of young girls. The greater the exposure to reality
television, the higher the sexualization of young girls. These findings can be of interest to TV
programming executives, who may change their business strategy as a result of our findings. This
research differs from the past in that it focuses solely on girls and not the differences that arise
between girls and boys in reality television viewing.
Problem of Practice: The sexualization of women in many of today s reality shows leads to a
negative effect on young girls. How girls learn about their value and worth can be greatly
impacted by the degrading roles many of these reality stars portray. It sets high unrealistic
expectations of the way young girls are supposed to act. Women are

Ethical Values And Moral Values
Ethics in a sense is everything we hold dear to us, meaning our moral values. The development of
figuring out what is important to us requires intellectual and critical evaluation. By not developing
ones own moral values, you are simply taking the route of taking the moral beliefs given to you by
your family or society. You re accepting them because its easier than questioning them. However,
this has its setbacks, by choosing not to do ethics you are essentially undermining your own
personal freedom of choice. By accepting beliefs of your culturewithout question, then those
viewpoints are not truly yours. Another setback to not asking questions is that your reasons or
responses will be lacking understanding. Moral principles are might be absolute or might not,
even so we apply them to situations may be different and require you to evaluate the situation at
hand, which is hard to do if you ve never taken the time to do so before. The third importance is
that without taking the time to question and make your own moral code, you then in turn lose
intellectual growth. You do not gain new understandings of the ever changing world around
you; you become stuck in a stagnant world, which is not reality. I think this class will help me
look at moral judgments in a more logical and ethical way. I have already realized from this class
that I have based my ethical decisions on my emotion and the way I feel which is only one form
of ethics. This class will go over various theories to

Summary Of Build An Ark
promised Noah that he and his family would not be destroyed with the evil people. Build an Ark
God told Noah. When he finished you and your sons and your wife and your son s wives will go
into the Ark, God added. You will live there until the flood is over. God told him to bring one
male and female of every kind of animal into the Ark and enough food for all the people and the
animals.
It is believed that Noah had Granddaughters. But if so then why did they not go into the Ark. From
what I can understand Noah s three granddaughters married wicked men and forsake the house of
their fathers. They joined the wicked and their father s beliefs. So they were punished as the
wicked were punished and drowned in the flood.

So more than likely Satan wanted Jonah dead for many reasons but mainly: 1) He saw that Jonah
was going to be a prophet of the Lord. 2) That Jonah saved hundreds and probably thousands from
wrath of God. 3) Satan just likes destruction and wants all to die and burn in Hell.
The number of years Noah was building the Ark. How many years did it take him? How did you
come to this conclusion? The bible doesn t really say how long it took, but it was less than one
hundred and twenty years. (Genesis 5:32, 6:4, and 7:6) Some people have made the claim that
this passage means that it took Noah one hundred and twenty years to build the Ark. Even given
the Ark s massive scale. (Roughly four hundred and fifty feet long by seventy five feet wide by
forty feet high), one hundred and twenty years seems like an excessively long time to take to build
the Ark. Most biblical scholars agree that God was saying the he was giving mankind, one hundred
and twenty years in which to repent, after which would come judgement for their wickedness. This
means that Noah had one hundred and twenty years warning before the flood. We can reasonably
assume that God gave Noah the blueprints for the Ark at this

Many factors led to the Seven Years War. Along with these factors, I think that the huge differences
in cultural backgrounds and points of view between the various countries involves also contributed
to the Seven Years War. In the seventeenth century, the colonies were becoming over run by
various, very different immigrant groups (Davidson, 2006). Famine, warfare, and religious
persecution forced most of the non English groups to leave from their homes in Europe and go to
the American colonies. This immigration quickly increased the population and made the colonies
more diverse. The diversity caused the colonies to be primarily divided along cultural lines. The

The conflict between the superpowers for the control of the continent began the Seven Years War.
Most people put the beginning of the Seven Years War in the 1754, but it actually occurred from
1756 to 1763. In the Seven Years War, France, and Great Britain struggled to control eastern North
America (Davidson, 2006). The area between the Mississippi River and the Appalachian mountain
range was contested, as both nations claimed it. When the British won the Seven Years War, their
colonial holdings doubled in size and they gained control of North America. Conflicts over trading
rights and the control of the Ohio country was the primary cause of the French and the Indian War
(Davidson, 2006). British control over North America and the Seven Years War led to many issues
and problems as the British struggled to maintain their supremacy. The French came out behind in
each of these struggles, they lost position as highest colonial power for the next generation, their
position would not be restored until French Revolution of the 1970 s. Since each colony had to run
its own military campaigns for many years, the colonies were isolated from each other. While the
Seven Years War did determine who would control the North America continent, conflicts caused by
the war would still continue. The British Parliament was determined that the

Argumentative Essay On Digital Music
Digital Harm
Steve Jobs is personally responsible for killing the music business. ~ Jon Bon Jovi (Arias 124). Jon
Bon Jovi, the famous 80s pop rocker, made his claim during the time after the creation of the
internet, when which the music industry had begun to decline. Given his role as a musician, he
witnessed firsthand how the internet hurt the music industry. Although the benefits of the internet
may seem abundant, digital music is not flawless. Despite being viewed by some as a positive
addition to music, the current state of digital music limits the music industry s ability to invest in
new artists to keep the music industry alive.
Due to the increasing popularity of online file sharing, record labels lose money whether they
protect their music or not. The book 2000s Music, written by author David Larkins and musician
Greg Wilson, states., after Napster was sued, illegal file sharing grew even more popular as
opposed to less (Larkins 1). The popularity of free digital music harms musicians for obvious
reasons, a loss of revenue. Since the internet cannot control illegal downloads, the pay musicians
receive is negatively affected. J.J. Arias, a Georgian University Professor of Economics stated in
his academic journal, the enforcement of copyright laws in the digital realm proves to be a costly
venture (Arias 124). Illegal file sharing networks are mostly ignored since it often costs more to
find and remove file sharing than it is to ignore it. Because of this,

What is Botox?
Botox is short for Botulinum Type A Toxin, a protein complex produced by a bacterium called
Clostridium botulinum. Botox injection is one of the newest and among the most popular cosmetic
procedures for wrinkles. Botox works magically to smooth out facial lines by preventing the
muscles that cause frown lines from contracting. Only a tiny amount of this toxin is used in Botox
injection for beautification purposes. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic
Surgery (ASAPS), more than 1.6 million people received injection in 2001, which is a 46 percent

The Rood And Sir Gawain And The Green Knight
The Difference between Faith and Believing
In The Dream of the Rood and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, both by anonymous writers,
touch on Christian faith and believing in a higher power. These two literary text show how one s
beliefs can be tested when put in an unfortunate situation. In The Dream of the Rood, when the
first speaker has the dream or vision it breaks down how Christian faith comes into play. The
speaker looks at Christ differently, goes from wanting to be with more people, having friends again
to giving his all to Christ. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, it is the same, Christianity wins over
courtly values. When Gawain makes the decision to be a part the Green Knight s game, taking
that treacherous journey from home, he was doing it show how much of a great knight he was,
but in the end it was not his sword that helped him make it back home. These tales show how a
courtly heroic code of honor contests a Christian model of living.
In The Dream of the Rood, the first speaker or dreamer shows you that he chooses Christianity
over anything else when he says I look forward constantly toward that time the Lord s rood
which I beheld before here on this earth shall fetch me away from this fleeting life and bring me
then where bliss is eternal to joy in Paradise.. (Lines 135 140). That vision was like a beacon of
hope the dreamer, being alone with nothing and no one, having a hint of something to lean or
depend on gives them faith. The story the rood or

Essay High-Speed Rail and the Advancement of America
Along with hover boards and flying cars, high speed rail is one of the most iconic futuristic
technologies discussed today. With great success, European and Asian countries such as

leading innovator of high speed trains, and has currently developed a train capable of 315 mph

Unfortunately, California still has not started the construction of their high speed rail project, but
this shows, early in the development of the project, that high speed rail will create a plethora of
jobs. While there are a limited number of spots in the grant (Mumma), But there will be
thousands of jobs that we need to get people ready for, Eager added (Sheehan). Lee Ann Eager is
the executive director of the Fresno County Economic Development Corp, and while being
interviewed by Sheehan, she states that there will be many more job opportunities available
once construction begins, and then once the system is up and running, there will be thousands
of jobs that need to be created to keep the rail system up and running safely and efficiently. A
maintenance station for example, could house around 1,500 permanent jobs, and also be a
magnet to further development for high speed rail, which will in turn create more jobs. Jobs for
the construction of new power plants needed to power the high speed rail system will also be
available, as well as the jobs created to maintain and use the power plant. With the need for more
environmentally friendly ways of creating electricity, more companies will need to be created to
build and provide maintenance for these new plants, and also for research for better ways of
utilizing the different renewable energies. All of these factors mean more and more

The Mining Of Mining Industry
Mining is an essential need for humans to access coal which produce rich resource to generate
electricity. Mining comes as simplistic image of just people in hard hats with a pickaxe repeatedly

order to get reliable energy resource, as coalmininginfluences and infatuated the environment
around it. In particular, surface mines, also known as strip mines, is a practice mining commonly
used to access coal by removing layers of overlying soil and rock. Additionally, strip mining
requires heavy used of machines, such as bulldozers, power shovels, and trucks in order to extract
the resources from the ground. Surface miningis arguably the most effective type of mining, as 60
percent of the world s materialistic coal comes from the practice of this type of mining. Thus tactics

  • 3. Media Should Respect Privacy of Public Figures Essay The Media Should Respect Privacy of Public Figures How much privacy of the individual is protected under the United States Constitution? Every one is entitled to the right of privacy, but to what extent is that privacy granted? Public figures are constantly being harassed and photographed by the media. Some photographers and reporters will go to any means, even illegal actions, to get a picture or story. However, public figuresare human beings like everyone else, and the media should give them more privacy. The media needs to operate with more respect for both laws and for moral and ethical codes of conduct. There are laws establishing the privacy of an individual, and the media needs to extend these rights to public figures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, the Supreme Court ruled in the 1964 Sullivan v. New York Timescase that vulnerability is taken as a price of admission to the public arena. Thus, the privilege to cover public figures is almost unlimited, and public figures have few privacy rights. People reasonably expect privacy inside a house or fenced yard not visible from the street and inside living facilities such as in hospitals and nursing homes. Photographers need permission to both enter and photograph these private places. However, anyone is fair game to be photographed and have their picture published if the photo was taken from a public place. This includes people seen through the windows of their own home (Dill, 178). However, one New York Court ruled that photographers shooting inside a restaurant needed permission because the restaurant was a public place for purposes of dining, and patrons dining there should reasonably be allowed to dine in peace (Dill, 177). Even though it is currently legal to photograph public figures in the privacy of their own homes, ethically speaking it does not mean these pictures should be published. However, because ethical codes are not working, there needs to be legal reform. Additionally, breaking and entering or using trickery, impersonation, fraud and disguise to gain admission to a private area are illegal. Even though these acts are illegal, some members of the media still break the law to get the picture or story they want. Often times, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. History of Space Exploration Introduction to the History of space exploration To start the researching of the future of the space exploration the very first thing we should do is to look through a history of this particular topic. The main reason for this is because the history is a fundamental background for our understanding and knowledge. Aeronautical engineering does not have a long and deep history, compared to many things. Moreover, some information cannot be proved nowadays and that is why the only one thing that we can do is to suppose and rely on accessible sources. Every year we are using more and more modern technologies in order to try to explore our solar system, unknown planets and deep space. However, we should think that our ancestors could not even believe that the physical space exploration will ever become a reality since antiquity. (Aerospace, n.d.) When we ponder over the early history of the space investigation we encounter the unquestionable fact that it used to be mostly theoretical. For instance, Isaac Newton established his book about the required mathematics knowledge for space exploring in 1687 (BBC Isaac Newton, 2014). There are some other people, like a Swiss scientist Leonhard Euler and Italian mathematician Joseph Louis Lagrange who were undoubtedly necessary in the 18th and 19th centuries with their scientific works. In spite of all the factors, aeronautics has not become a practical discipline until the middle of the 20th century (Galileo Rice, n.d.). 1.2 History of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Why Good People Do Bad Things Why do good people do bad things? It s a question repeatedly asked throughout the decades and with recent studies,it seems people in groups are more deadly than others. In this essay,I will be giving my take on why I think good people in groups do bad things. Starting as early as March 15,44 B.C.,Gaius Julius Caesar was murdered by a group of rebellious senators. He started out as a Roman politician and general who played a huge role in the demise of the Roman republic and the rise of the Roman empire. After several political conflicts occurred Cassius used his power to influence and persuade to get Brutus to commit to killing Caesar. After they were all convicted of murder and sentenced to death,Brutus was overwhelmed with guilt, and killed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Characteristics Of Animals And Environments Rationale Standards SC.5.L15 asserts that Earth is a home to a great diversity of living things whose survival depends on the changes in the environment. However, individuals of the same kind usually differ in characteristics, and such differences give individuals an advantage to survive and reproduce in certain environments (CPALMS, 2015). Real Life Applications When observing the different characteristics of animals and environments, it is possible to determine the kind of environment that a particular animal is likely to survive better in. The knowledge about the characteristics of animals helps in classifying animals in different environments they seem to be best adapted to survive. It is also important how their individual ... • 8. The Global Economy Has Suffered And Pushed Through Many... In the year 2015, the global economy has suffered and pushed through many hurdles. In the first quarter, the American economy made a painstakingly slow progress in many places, while still dealing with other key players in the global market that had potential to hurt the markets even further. Greece and China have both caused lots of worry throughout the world; Greece not using the Euro as their currency could have hurt the market, as well as China s government devaluing their own currency, causing a ripple effect throughout other markets. World trade itself has shrunken, adding new fire to the already blazing financial crisis at hand. Some would even argue that the first and second quarter of 2015 were the worst performing quarters that the world has seen in a very long time. Back in the 1990 s, growth in world trade was generally faster than growth in the GDP, or gross domestic product. However, recently this has changed both have scaled back. Hyperglobalization, a term used to describe the process of international intergration that arises from interchanging world views, products, ideas, and other aspects of culture, had begun by China s gaining their own sovereignty, the former Soviet Union, and a reduction in trade barriers, as well as the creation of WTO (world trade organization. He is well known to the public for his publication of the article called The Dignity of Human Life , which was originally published in 1949 and currently still could be found in many philosophy books (Klemke, 2008). The article of The dignity of Humanlife contains several different valuable ideas of the subject to human life and also includes some great conclusions at the final. One of David s conclusion is that people besides learning and acquiring practical skills from the formal education or training. People also need something more than the practical skills, which is something of a different nature and it is something someone concludes self. Swenson states that youth requires developing a view of life in order to become a good person in moral and developed personalities. The view of life is not acquired through training and learning provided by general means of formal education or experience, but is obtained individually through thinking over someone s life, self exploring and subjective conviction. The reason for developing such view of life is that view of life is the mean of giving one s life. it is a principle of living, a spirit and an attitude capable of maintaining its unity and identity with itself in all of life s complexities and varying vicissitudes. • 10. Summary Of The Poem Mirror By Sylvia Plath The poem Mirror, by Sylvia Plath, was written in 1961. The poem takes place during a time when women s reflections were changing quickly, and women s movement was becoming more important. According to Kristine Tucker in The Overall Meaning of the Poem Mirror, she states, The Mirror was written by SylviaPlath in 1961 but wasn t published until 1971, eight years after her death by suicide. Therefore, presuming the lady in the mirror is Plath, readers assume she wrote the poem referring to her personal life and her struggle with depression due to her appearance. Sylvia Plath s poem Mirror is about a woman who gets older as the mirror watches her. At first, the mirror is silver and exact (1). The mirror does not judge; however, it swallows what it sees and reflects that image back (2). The mirror is also not cruel, only truthful (4), and considers itself a four cornered eye of a god (5). Therefore, the mirror sees everything for what it is, and does not lie. The mirror looks across the empty room most of the time (6) and meditates on the pink speckled wall across from it (7). The mirror is attached to the wall, and has looked at that wall for so long, that the wall is thought to be part of my heart (8). The darkness in the room and the people who consider the mirror are the faces and darkness that separate the woman and the mirror (9). In the next stanza, the mirror is now portraying itself as a lake (10). A woman is looking into the lake (10), and she is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Volunteering Experience At Children s Hospital Colorado Throughout the years I feel that I ve had a number of valuable experiences, my most significant experience is my volunteering experience at Children s Hospital Colorado. I still remember feeling utterly terrified on my first day volunteering, pondering all the possible ways things could go wrong. I suddenly felt as though I have never experienced this before. I was on my own, responsible for myself and all of my actions. On my first day volunteering, I found myself doing deliveries on the sterile patient floors. There was a type of silence that made me nervous. I couldn t hear a word of casual chatter, or people carelessly laughing. It felt completely different from what I was used to hearing on a day to day bases. I went on my search to find the room that I was delivering the gift to, while following all the rules that were established at my orientation. At the time, the task seemed odd, I didn t expect it to be something I would be doing when I started out. Everything seemed new, and different, it allowed me to view thing that differed from the protected scope I looked through my entire life. Leigh also added, If your child s first encounter with a swear word is in an eleventh grade reading assignment, or if their exposure to violence by the age of, say, ten is limited solely to The Hunger Games, I hereby accuse you of invoking supernatural parenting powers. In making this comment Leigh s point is that in a world filled with media there is little to chance your child doesn t know what violence is or the basis of a controversial topic such as drug use. Maybe your child doesn t know much about these topics but knowledge is our greatest weapon and without it your child could stumble into a bad situation with no defenses. Leigh finally stated in her conclusion, The Feminine Mystique was the spark that ignited second wave feminism, and The Jungle prompted the passage of the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906. Guantanamo Bay Essay Under the Bush Administration, beginning with the election of President Bush in 2000 and running until early 2009, Guantanamo Bay was filled with suspected 9/11 terrorists from the Taliban and al Qaeda due to the relatively recent outbreak of the war on terror. Large steps were taken by the Bush Administration toward near guarantees of containing those responsible for the War, which can be summed up in a human rights article by Martin Flaherty, [...] the Bush Administration adopted what it asserted were three necessary and appropriate means that would serve as principal ways to pursue the Global War on Terror, (36). By including this vision of closing Guantanamo as a part of his presidential campaign, Obama gained great support from the public. Once elected, Obama acted on his promise to close Guantanamo on his second day as President, shown by Scott Horton in his article on Guantanamo, He (Obama) created an inter agency task force to advise him on the specifics of this process and to create future guidelines for the detention of terrorism suspects captured abroad, (1). The overall shift in opinion on Guantanamo in both citizens and high up leaders of the country, however, was a result of many factors occurring around the time of Obama s election. First, while Guantanamo processes and descriptions were long held from the public under war time confidentiality, more information leaked out as the war settled down, including a basic description of Camp X ray, which was, consisting of small cages with chain link sides, concrete floors and metal roofs, offering scant shelter from the elements, and with very basic sanitary facilities, (Living Conditions). Methods of torture also became more nationally known, reinforcing the shifting opinion against Guantanamo. Finally, one of the largest reasons for Obama s push to close Guantanamo was due to the lack of empirical evidence proving detainees guilty (Horton 12). Holding these ... While learning about snakes we found four that look very identical having the same stripes, a reddish orangish color, black and white skin. They have a similar pattern of stripes. We decided to find out why would snakes like these would live in the Sonoran desert. The guiding question was, Why do the Sonoran coral snake, the Sonoran Mountain kingsnake, the milk snake and the Sonoran shovel nosed snake look similar? Before answering the guiding question evidence needed to be collected. We confirmed that all the snakes are not from the same species, which means that their similarities don t have to do with heredity. This is why the snakes that stand out in the desert are eaten less than the other snakes in the Sonoran Desert, We know that the Sonora coral snake uses aposematic coloration, which is having a coloring or a marking that warns predators to tell its predators that is poisonous and we can assume that the other snakes use batesian mimicry, which is when an animal resembles a poisonous one to trick its predators, but how do they look the same? This is a process called natural selection. Natural selection is when an organism naturally lets go of a trait that is useless for instance, penguins lost their feathery wings because they don t require it to survive like all the other birds since they live in antarctica meaning there are no predators to fly away from. Leadership is multi faceted and there are many different approaches that are used in leadership. What is leadership? Leadership is the ability to influence a group toward the achievement of a vision or a set of goals. (Robbins Judge p. 385) Leaders are those who have the influence to motivate people to take a vision and put it into action. Often, people in management have assumed positions of leadership, meaning because of the nature of their position, they will have to make leadership decisions and influence those they lead toward a goal or vision. Problem Statement Although someone in a management position may have to assume a leadership role, it does not mean that this person is automatically fit to lead. Just because an organization provides its managers with certain formal rights is not assurance that they will be able to lead effectively. (Robbins Judge p. 12) Sometimes, leaders emerge from a group without having a formal title or position. With the need for organizations to have not only strong management but strong leadership, it is important to fit the leader s leadership style to the situation. Finding the right leader for the position is not the only concern however. It is also important to have leaders who are ethical and that can be trusted. Some could include the amount of fuel exerted on the bottle rocket, and the angle of the rocket when launched. A large problem that occurred during launch was that only 4 tests were able to be performed. These were all contributing factors to the success of the bottle rocket. To start off, the main factors of physics that could explain how and why the bottle rocket did what it did could be pressure, velocity, mass flow rate, momentum, and inertia. The rocket was under extreme amounts of pressure when launched, because the pressure was a high number. The velocity of the rocket was 56.47. Gravity caused the rocket to slowly and gradually fall to the ground. The last force that acted on the rocket was the action of hitting the ground. After the rocket hit the ground, it bounced straight back up. This could be explained by Newton s 3rd law, which states that every reaction has an equal and opposite reaction. Adventitious shoots elongating over... cm in length, which were easy to handle and suitable for transferring to rooting medium, were also obtained most efficiently with a lower concentration of TDZ, while further addition of TDZ concentration resulted in decreased shoot regeneration and elongation. Higher TDZ concentrations lead to reduction of shoot regeneration and resulted in stunted shoots. Previous studies have been reported the inhibitory effects of high concentrations of TDZ on shoot elongation (Preece and Imel, 1991; Malik et al. 1992; Feyissa et al., 2005; Raghu et al., 2006; Kumar and Reddy, 2010; Kumar et al., 2010a,b, 2011a,b), and our results are in agreement with the above ... We will examine identifying established relationship between employers and workers while covering assigned roles of employees and independent contractors. We will briefly discuss enacted laws and recommended practices to avoid misclassification penalties and consequences. Lastly, we will explore vital factors that should be considered while classifying workers. The Importance of Distinguishing Classification Between Independent Contractors and Employees Determining the classification between an independent contractor and an employee proves to be rather complex, yet vital, regarding tax issues. Therefore, assigning correct classification is critical to both employer and workers that carry out the labor, especially pertaining to benefits and tax payment obligations. Organizations that classify their workers as employees assume financial responsibility for them. Hartman asserts this by stating that, the distinction, however, is significant for tax law compliance and categorization, for benefit plans, for cost reduction plans, and for discrimination claims (Bennett Alexander, Hartman, 2012). • 44. Ethical Values And Moral Values Ethics in a sense is everything we hold dear to us, meaning our moral values. The development of figuring out what is important to us requires intellectual and critical evaluation. By not developing ones own moral values, you are simply taking the route of taking the moral beliefs given to you by your family or society. You re accepting them because its easier than questioning them. However, this has its setbacks, by choosing not to do ethics you are essentially undermining your own personal freedom of choice. By accepting beliefs of your culturewithout question, then those viewpoints are not truly yours. Another setback to not asking questions is that your reasons or responses will be lacking understanding. Moral principles are might be absolute or might not, even so we apply them to situations may be different and require you to evaluate the situation at hand, which is hard to do if you ve never taken the time to do so before. The third importance is that without taking the time to question and make your own moral code, you then in turn lose intellectual growth. You do not gain new understandings of the ever changing world around you; you become stuck in a stagnant world, which is not reality.
