This document discusses the learning management system Moodle. Moodle was originally part of a PhD dissertation on open source software and was created with constructivist and social constructionist approaches to education. It is a free and modular online learning system. Users need Moodle site access and teaching privileges to use it. Content is organized into course sections and various resources and activities can be added. Moodle also has a large community that supports its use and development.
