American adults are either overweight or obese. Being obese or overweight puts the

decided to take action and I made it my goal to maintain a low body fat percentage
over the course of two weeks (I will be sharing my experience further down the

This paper will be describing and analyzing the African Art Galleries in the
Metropolitan Museum of Art. The galleries that will be critiqued in this paper are
350, 351, and 352. Gallery 350 (Samuel H. and Linda M. Lindenbaum Gallery) is
an averaged size rectangular room that spans about the length of a sidewalk. The
gallery contains several carved wooden sculptures, primarily located in the center
of the gallery that immediately take over upon entering. While most objects are
not enclosed in cases and are instead freestanding, some works such as the Senufo
Face Mask are not freestanding and are supported by a wall in a case allowing for
frontal viewing. The Bozo door has a slight relief and can be viewed frontally as it
hangs on the wall. Some freestanding works are displayed in cases that are built
into the walls of the gallery, which limits the individual s ability to view the work all
the way around. Though external lights bring some brightness into the gallery, they
seem to add a muted sepia tone to the room. In the cases against the walls, the lights
are installed in the panels above the pieces in order to provide an even distribution of
lightamongst all of the work. In the entire gallery, the lights are scattered on the
ceilingand angled in a way to provide light on each sculpture. The sculptures are
arranged in a geographical manner since most of the items are from the people of

Confucius And Confucianism
Confucius s philosophical teachings about government and society discussed in the
Analects revolve around morality and how a ruler and his people should act in order
to stabilize society. Confucius looked to the past to discuss the problems of the
present by modeling his teachings from the former Zhou empire. Confuciussought to
bring back the Zhou traditions in order to better society. By linking moral
behaviors to social roles and hierarchies, he emphasized that the stability of the
government and society was directly correlated to the relationship between the ruler
and the people. With the title Son of Heaven, the ruler was expected to act morally
towards his subjects and treat them with love and concern ( Introduction to
Confucian Thought , 2009). This idea is directly related to the concept of ren,
which discusses the well being of others as the moral drive of society. He extended
this idea into social harmony, being first and foremost embedded in the family.
Confucius believed that the virtue of filial piety was the foundation for not just
family life but also had implication for the ruler subject bond ( Mencius and his
development of Confucian teachings , n.d.). Similarly, Mencius centered his
teachings on this idea by stressing that the well being of the family directly
corresponded to the well being of the state. Most importantly however, Confucius also

whether or not people should be drafting individuals for war. Should the citizens of
the U.S be letting others decide their safety or should the government take it into

and/or neglect in young adults can be one linked to personality disorders. They have
found that Anti social Personality Disorder (APD) can be one of the personality
disorders that s linked to abuse and/or neglect. APD is characterised by a pervasive
pattern of poor social conformity, deceitfulness , impulsivity, aggressiveness,
irresponsibility, lack of remorse and criminality (American Psychiatric Association,
2013).
APD is a well known disorder that researchers have been trying to determine the
cause of it. Bierer et al. (2003) conducted a study and found that children that
experience sexual and physical abuse have strong predictor to paranoid as well anti
social personality disorder. The participants that helped find these results were either
referred from the outpatient psychiatric clinics or referred themselves by responding
advertisements and press release. Each participant was given a childhood trauma
questionnaire (CTQ) to assess the participant s childhood. The questionnaire was five

The topic I have decided to research is frozen conflict zones. Recently, the term
frozen conflict has become more relevant within international relations, and it is
used frequently when addressing conflicts within the former Soviet Union.
However, frozen conflicts is a term that is often used loosely and as a result there is
no way to categorize and define frozen conflict zones. Frozen conflicts are used to
describe conflicts that are not active and have yet to be resolved. But, why is this
term used only when discussing post soviet states? Why is this term not used to
describe similar conflicts such as Taiwan or Israel and Palestine? How can a conflict
be frozen if it is still creating global insecurities? I hope to answer all of these
questions within my research by using a variety of scholarly and professional sources.
Furthermore, I plan to create a set of criteria for defining for frozen conflict zones,
and as a result I will be able to look into the annexation of Crimea to determine if it
can be identified as a frozen conflict. I will inform my research through looking at
cases of current conflicts within Georgia, Russia, Azerbaijan, and Moldova.
An article titled Crimea and the Lessons of Frozen Conflicts by John Abrahamson,
focuses on Russia s involvement in the Crimean Peninsula . This interpretive source
argues that the Russian annexation of Crimea was a calculated move with the
Russian objective to undermine Pro western states within Russia s sphere of
influence. In the article, Abrahamson compares Russia s annexation of Crimea to
former Soviet States that poses several frozen conflicts. Abrahamson furthered his
