The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2. Working title
The title I have chosen for my music magazine is “Heartbeat”
• I have chosen this title, because I find it a very catching title, and it fits with the type
of magazine I want to make, pop.
The title “Heartbeat”, has nothing directly to do with music. However, the meaning
behind the title is this:
Everyone has one or more songs / artists that are special to them, and every time we
hear that special song or listen to that special artist, we get chills all over our body and
your heart starts to beat a little faster.
I have therefore chose to name my music magazine “Heartbeat”, to write about these
special songs, write about the artists that makes the songs and to let the reader find
new special songs that makes their heart beat a little faster.
3. Working title
• After looking at my research I have decided to make “Heartbeat” a more of a female
related music magazine, which is also why I want to have a girly font.
• I also wanted to make the title appeal to younger people, because based on my
research most of my audience are between 16 and 24 years old.
• I want to use an elegant, neat and clean font. It has to be a quite girly font, but not to
much. I need to find a font that is eye-catching to both a 16-yearold and a 24-yearold,
so it must not be to childish.
4. Genre of music
• Based on my research, I have decided to make a pop and rock
related music magazine. 48% of my audience are interested in pop
music and 28% of my audience are interested in rock music.
• I thought that by combining both pop and rock music in my
magazine, it would appeal to most of my audience and more
people would be interested in reading my music magazine.
5. Cover price
• The price of my magazine will be £2.99
• Looking back at my survey, most people would pay between £2 and £4 for a
music magazine. So I have decided to go for the price in the middle, £3, to satisfy
most of my audience.
• The readers of my magazine, based of my survey, will most likely be between 16
and 24 years old. So most of my reader will probably be students. That is also why
I want to make it an affordable price, so that most people would afford it.
6. Frequency and publication:
• I will publish my magazine once a month.
• In my survey, most people answered that they read magazine
monthly, which is why I have chosen to publish my magazine
monthly.
• My plan is to locate my magazine in well known supermarkets, so that
it easily can be found.
• Most people in my survey answered that they prefer to read a printed
version of my magazine, but I am also planning on making an online
version of my music magazine to please all my readers.
7. Outline and what might be in the magazine
• The content in my magazine is going to be
- Articles.
- Interviews.
- Concerts and festivals reviews and recommendations.
- Posters of artists.
- Some issues will have freebies, like CDs for example.
- Discount codes for festival tickets and concert tickets.
