Coordinate a meeting with leadership to develop a plan that is agreed upon that will address and fix
the issues. I would also review the company s mission statement if one exists; if not this would be
great timing and opportunity to developed a statement that can be used during normal operations and
one that will withstand and prevail during crisis such as what Tylenol went through some years back.
In this third option, a combination of both internal and external experts (teams) to develop solutions
and alternatives to the issues. This can be a combination of both internal teams and external
consultants. Once root causes are identified then processes are used to list solutions and alternatives.
This gives leadership guidance in choosing the best solutions and alternatives if the first choice is
faulty. This process should be well documented as a Lessons Learned for future reference. At this time
if a mission statement is non existent.
D. The advantage to A is buy in from employees. The disadvantage is they may not have the expertise
of Sigma 6. The advantages to B is you have an expert is finding root causes and solutions, but the
consultant does not have the expertise in the company. The advantages to C is the best of both A and B
the only disadvantages could be the upfront cost. But if he accomplishes what Sigma 6 is designed to
do then for the money saved by the company in the long run is well worth the investment. So I cannot

It is exchanging one financial asset for another financial asset. Then, Lanni uses $50,000 in cash

1.56. Discuss the agency problem in detail.
An agent is hired by the principal to perform some duty that benefits the needs of the principal. The
agency problem is an issue that occurs when the agents use their authority to make decisions in their
own interest at the expense of the principals. For example, company managers (agents) were put in
place to make decisions that maximize the wealth of the shareholders (principals) but may instead
engage in empire building or may make inefficient company decisions for job security. In order to
mitigate these potential agency problems, several mechanisms have evolved. These include directly
tying the compensation of managers to the success of the firm; oversight and influence by the board of
directors as well as outsiders such as security analysts, creditors, or large institutional investors; the
threat of a proxy contest by unhappy shareholders to replace the current management team; or the
threat of takeover by another firm. However, most of these mechanisms have a low chance of success
or can create other problems. The best mechanism that prevents agency problems is the threat of
takeover by another firm. If the

Innocence in The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger Essay
One of the purist times in a person s life is childhood, during this time life is easy and often
romanticized. As a person grows older the innocence and naivety of childhood begins to fade into a
hardness caused by the harsh realties of adulthood. Though the transition from childhood is hard, one
most remember not to rush into adulthood savor your innocence . In Catcher In the Rye , by J.D.
Salinger the main character Holden Caulfield is in the transitional stage, he finds it hard for him to
grow up and act like an adult. So instead of rushing in to adulthood, he finds slowing down the
process and acting less adult like is better for him. Holden finds mature adult like subjects and
qualities phony, but finds innocent child like subjects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But the two youngest members of the family are the main recipients of his praise and joy. When he
talked about his brother Allie that passed away it is always good. The quote that sums up his feelings
towards Allies is, he was a nice kid. (Salinger 38) He relies on Allie when he has a problem or needs
to think things through. When he was contemplating his leave and walking to give Phoebe her letter
he talked to the ghost of Allie. The other sibling is Phoebe, Phoebe seem to be the apple of his eye.
When he thought about leaving he only wanted and needed to say good bye to Phoebe and no one
else. The way he talks about D.B. is very different then the way he rants on about his younger siblings,
he never talks bad or factious about D.B. he just doesn t praise him as much. He views D.B. As phony
and a Hollywood sellout. In many aspects the siblings are the same the only difference is their age and
innocence level. He adores and admires the more innocent younger siblings, while he views the oldest
one as being a fake. This just proves that Salinger thinks innocence s should be captured and
cherished. Holden seem to be weird and indifferent when it comes to females and sexual relationships.
He has a made up sex life when in actuality he has yet to do anything. When the prostitute came to his
room he chickens out by

Examples Of The Final Solution
Throughout history there has been many horrific events. Both in Europe and in America and other
countries around the world. One of the if not the most horrific would have to be the Holocaust also
known as the final solution. Before the start of World War II, around 9.5 million Jewish people lived
in Europe. By the time the war ended, the Nazis had killed 6 million European Jews in concentration
camps, or pogroms, or ghettos, or mass executions in what we refer to today as the Holocaust. The
Nazis used the term Endlösung, or Final Solution, as the answer to the Jewish question (Boissoneault,
2016). They were banned from owning land, having successful businesses, and participating in
entertainment. If after all that things weren t bad enough for them they were thrown in the gas
chambers, others had to watch their families and friends die. The Holocaust ended when Russian,
British and American troops invaded Poland and Germany in the final stages of world War 2. This
invasion led to the end of the war and Germany capitulating. These troops ... Show more content on

The Importance Of Financial Analysis
The financial analysis has been done and on the basis of NPV and IRR projections we accept the
project because NPV is positive at 15% nominal rate of return and the IRR is 64% without Anna s
concerns and IRR is 51% with regard to her concerns. So, we accept the project because in both the
situations, the project seems acceptable and profitable. Annual Net present value with IRR or not in
sheet 1 is positive, which shows that it is a good idea to continue the project due to the net cash flows
are made positive by an increase in the value of sales. Annual net present value in sheet 3 is also
positive which we have created with Anna s concerns where she felt she needed the new equipment to

In Austrochemicals the techniques that also should be used is profitability index, discounted payback
period and return on assets. Furthermore, the preliminary expenses such as research, overseas trips and
legal expenses are part of sunk cost so these should not be included in the project because they are
preliminary expenses that are for the six years from the accountants point of view. Building
modifications has to be done in a way that can improve the substantial life of the building. Incentives
to boost the contract manufacturing sales they can pay to existing and new customers who are
companies to utilise the spare capacity of the machine. The Payback period method has disadvantages
such as ignoring the time value of money, ignoring cash flows beyond the payback period (ignoring
the profitability of a project), risk and opportunity cost. Payback period also doesn t specify any
required comparison to other investments or even to not making an investment. The internal rate of
return has limitations such as not being an investment decision tool to rate mutually exclusive projects
but only for deciding if a single project is worth investing in. Internal rate of return overestimates the
yearly equivalent rate of return for a project whose interim cash flows are reinvested at a rate lower
than the calculated IRR. IRR doesn t consider cost of capital, it should not be used to compare projects
of different duration. IRR may have

Influences Of Plato s Republic, Plato, And Marcus Aurelius
A leader is an explorer, cutting a path through the jungle for the rest of his group to follow, (Team).
The goal of a leader should be to set an example, and standard for others. The well known,
Machiavelli, Plato, and Marcus Aurelius have varying opinions of what a leader should be. Only one
view of a leader that I can agree with correlates with the voice of Aurelius most. Despite this, I must
admit that Machiavelli s and Plato s writings of the Prince and Republic offers a few point that can be
validated. The writings of Plato s Republic, Machiavelli s Prince, and Aurelius s Meditations all
contain a visions of a leader, but the descriptions of Aurelius are more closely related to what a leader
is. There are three impactful minds that affect how people perceive the essence of a leader, and they
are Machiavelli, Plato and Marcus Aurelius. In Plato s Republic, Plato describes what he believes a
leader to possess. He describes a leader to be the person who understands the forms, and seeks the
truth. He calls that person a philosopher king, or a joyful shepherd of sheep. This man/woman is able
to determine what is real and what is not. With this ability they are able to lead people with a
selflessness that cannot be matched by the other two figures. Moving on to Marcus Aurelius s outlook,
the differences show through plainly. Aurelius begins with the definition of stoicism, which is a Greek
philosophy that teaches the development of self control and fortitude as a means

The Unbearable Lightness Of Being By Milan Kundera
People attempt to find comfort in aligning themselves to certain polar values, whether they are things
like good or bad, order or chaos, or even political values such as liberal or conservative. In these
values people assign for themselves, they are searching for contentment, but within every human is a
battle between the two sides these two sides are lightness and weight. The Unbearable Lightness of
Being by Milan Kundera depicts this feud in the lives of 4 tragic protagonists: Tomas, Tereza, Franz,
and Sabina. These four are in a constant feud between lightness and weight, and only removing the
veil of these human abstractions can lead towards a path for contentment. The Unbearable Lightness
of Being depicts this battle existing in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Franz, too, experiences a conflict with his weight. He falls deeply for Sabina after leaving his child
and wife, and his affair soon becomes the most weighty thing in his life. Yet when he met Sabina at
the airport. As the plane gained altitude, he felt lighter and lighter. At last, he said to himself, he was
living in truth (114). Even if the lightness is just something he wants to experience and he is not truly
living in lightness, he is still fighting to become light. Franz has a deep desire to be like Sabina, and he
worships her for the lightness she possesses and he lacks. Kundera discusses the idea of the struggle
for lightness and weight existing in the real world as well. Yakov Stalin, the son of Joseph Stalin,
experienced the highest degree of this internal conflict: Rejection and privilege, happiness and woe no
one felt more concretely than Yakov how interchangeable opposites are, how short the step from one
pole of human existence to the other (244). Kundera notes that the poles of lightness and weight are
dizzyingly close, and it is this dizziness that drives Yakov to try to kill himself. The conflict inside him
is so uncomfortable that he sees the need to end his life just to stop it. This proves that lightness and
weight, rather than allowing people to find contentment, only drives people further away from it.
The way an individual aligns

Iran and Nuclear Proliferation On February 11th, 2010, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared
during a speech on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, that Iran has produced its first package
of highly enriched Uranium. This was declared two days after beginning the process earlier that week.
President Ahmadinejad said during his speech that Iran has succeeded in enriching uranium to twenty
percent and has the ability to achieve a purity of more than eighty percent. (Flintoff) The International
Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had advised the United States and other United Nations (UN) Security

Iran, initially known as Persia before 1935, was ruled a monarchy by Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi
until he was overthrown in 1979 by the conservative Muslim movement in the country at the time. A
theocratic system was established by the Islamic clerics, in which final government authority rested in
the Supreme Leader. During this time, relations between Iran and the United States were strained
when Iranian students seized the United States embassy in Tehran. Iran also has had conflict with Iraq
between 1980 thru 1988, which later led to United States involvement in the Persian Gulf. Iran has
also been linked to various Islamic terrorists groups in the region due terrorist activities being
conducted in Lebanon and other parts of the world. Iran has also been the target of sanctions from the
UN due to its nuclear weapons ambitions in the region. Since 1997, Iran s government has been under
constant change be reformists parties candidates, most notably by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Ahmadinejad has strong ties with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. The United States sees the
Iranian Revolutionary Guard as supplanting the government of Iran, as stated by Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton. The fear is that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard s influence and control spread and
the result could be a military dictatorship. (Labott) Originally founded

With the increasing costs, both financial and ecological, of fossil fuels, fuel efficiency in vehicles has
become an increasingly important factor. Vehicle manufacturers and designers are exploring
alternative fuels, with electric, hybrid and hydrogen powered vehicles being looked at as viable
alternatives. Solar power has been somewhat overlooked but has the ability to become widely used
because it is both clean and economical. The advantages over fossil fuels are obvious: Solar power is
renewable, cannot be exhausted and doesn t cause pollution. Fossil fuels are becoming increasingly
scarce and expensive. Solar seems like a logical alternative. As such, it is being considered by private

Battery packs are still heavy, bulky and expensive but the costs of solar power are coming down while
the cost of gasoline keeps going up. A number of different vehicles from sports cars to vans to golf
carts have had solar panels added to flat surfaces, primarily their roofs. Some of the vehicles are
ordinary cars which have been modified for solar; others are highly futuristic. The picture below is a
good example of a futuristic design. The vehicle, called car on a stick was designed to be used as a
streetlight when not being driven, which accounts for the one sitting at a higher elevation in the
picture, as opposed to the one on the ground. It would also save on parking. Of course, this design is
only an idea at this point, but it gives some interesting possibilities for vehicles (and cities) of the
future. Source: http://www.designboom.com/contemporary/solarpoweredvehicles.html Albuainain

which is large and heavy, has limited the range of most such vehicles to 30 50 miles between charges

efficiency. Current cells have an average efficiency of about 20% (Perch 2013). Ideally, the efficiency

River Tees Drainage Baisin Essay
River Tees Drainage Baisin
The river Tees flows from the Pennines in Cumbria, northwest England, to the North Sea via Tees
Bay. Its length is 130 km / 80 miles. Its port, Teesport, handles in excess of 42 million tonnes of water
per year. Its main tributaries are the Lune, Balder, and Greta. There are many factors affecting the
drainage baiins of the River Tees, many of these are human factors.
Water Barrage and Watersports: Much of the water nearing the sea is polluted with industrial waste,
sewage, and chemicals. The Tees Barrage, which opened in 1995, enables a 16 km / 10 mile stretch of
the river to provide clean, non tidal water. The barrage was built to improve the river s watersports ...

There are several reservoirs in the river basin used to store water to be used for later use. The
reservoirs also helps in flood control. Water levels can rise very quickly following a rain storm.
Storing water in the reservoir reduces flooding in the lower course.
Farming and Irigation Water: A major land uses in the upper Tees is rough grazing for sheep. The land
is too steep to use machinery, the growing season too short and the soils too thin and acidic For
growing crops and so not much water is needed for irigation in comparison to the River Severn. Only
where the land is less steep is the pasture improved by fertilizers, the occasional crop is grown,
requiring some irigation water from the Tees.
Hydro Electric power: There are no power plants along the Tees.
There are also many natural factors affecting the hydrology of the River Tees drainage basin, these
include:
Geology: There is a succession of falls, where the river traverses a hard series of black basaltic rocks,
the water flows fast her due to the steep down slope, the impermiable smooth rocks also allow fast
flow and no infiltration, and so at times of heavy percipitation the water level at these points in the
river will rise sharply and the power and speed of the river will increase. At flatter areas of these
basaltic rocks the river can flood easily.

Validity According to McMillan (2014), validity refers to the extent to which a test measures what it is
supposed to measure (p. 64). Additionally, validity is concerned with the degree of correspondence
with assessing the course of study or standards being taught within the classroom. In other words,
validity relates the level of significances of the inferences, excluding the test, instrument, or
procedures used to collect information (McMillan, 2014). Darling Hammond, Herman, Pellegrino, et
al. (2013) denote that with a specific end goal to be genuinely legitimate for an extensive variety of
learners, validity quantifies well what assessments imply to gauge, precisely assesses students
capacities, and correlate testing connections between the test administrators and test takers. For
classroom assessments, Bonner (as cited in McMillan, 2014) states, one of the important
consequences to consider for validity is the impact of the assessment on student learning (p. 65).
Therefore, consistently reflecting whether the assessment is reasonable in its effect on student
motivation and learning within the context in what is being taught. Concurrently, the meaning of
validity can alter in specific situations pertaining to unique perspectives of students, parents, and
stakeholders need to be taken into consideration (McMillan, 2014, p.

M. Butterfly, Written by David Henry Hwang Essay
As a big crucible, the United States is well known for its multiplicity of races. In order to maintain the
diversity, the American government not only receives people from different backgrounds, but also
sends American to all over the world in order to learn from various cultures. Even though countries
become increasingly closer in their relations, there still exists numerous stereotypes and negative
labeling among multi ethnic groups, which are most common between oriental and western. Along
with a sharply risen number of Asian visiting America, Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington,
which has never experienced much exotic cultures before, is facing both opportunities and challenges
from Asian civilization. As a result, for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This contradiction is what makes the ambiguous title of the play, M. Butterfly.
Stereotype towards Oriental women is one of the main themes in the play. The distressing ending that
brings up Gallimard s suicide is an irreversible result of his distorted thinking toward Asian women,
which blinds him to every truth about Song. As the title implies, Asian women are often compared to
butterflies that are docile and delicate. In fact, the audience will discover that Oriental women are
strong enough to take initiatives in reality. Both Gallimard and Song incorporate cultural notions into
the performance and perception, so that Song is able to exploit Gallimard by those conventions.
More than stereotypes toward Oriental women, the play also criticizes how the Western emasculate
Oriental from their point of view, like what Gallimard claims in the play, Orientals will always submit
to a greater force. (Act 2, Scene 3) Western flatters themselves that only a Westerner knows how the
Oriental should act, with the view of Oriental as an effeminate female with delicacy and subservient.
As Song explains The West has sort of an international rape mentality towards the East. (Act 3, Scene
1)
By creating a false image of Song s gender precisely, Hwang brings another remarkable topic in this
play, which is sexism. When Gallimard sees Song performing the dead scene from the opera Madama
Butterfly, he cannot separate her role as a

Romanticism In The Romantic Period
The Romanic period held great tools in which to develop personal expression within poetry As
popularity shifted from Neoclassism, a rigid writing form whereby poets and writers were encouraged
to copy those who also shared the poetic platform, to an increased in the importance of the individual
capabilities. Critic Christopher John Murray argues that The idea of poetry as the sincere personal
expression of the individual author emerged as central to the Romantic lyric and to aesthetics and
hermeneutics more generally connected to the increasingly important idea of genius as a uniquely
personal power of creative imagination and expression. This confirms my theory that there during the
Romantic Period there a shift from more social values in literature to a focus now on personal ability .
The importance of asking the question of why and how this shift from Neoclassical to Romantic
happened, is essential in understanding the literature of the time. Not only was the mechanical and
rigid Enlightenment rejected, the new period known as Romantic period ordered for emotional
directness and the overflow of personal feeling. Although Romanticism pathed the way for self
expression, some Poets were still very much favoring rhetoric, Angela Esterhammer comments on
this, Though Romanticism is often considered as the period which saw the emergence of self
expression as a poetic model and an ethos, a good many of the Romantic poets were formally trained
in rhetoric. Romantic

Summary Of The Story Of An Hour
STORY A brief moment silent narrates a momentary of time or occasion, an exploration of nature is
what Mrs. Mallard took after the demise of his husband. She utilized this time well thinking of how
peaceful and free she had turned. This is ironic, commonly she was expected to wail and mourn in
bitterness, but she took her time sit in an armchair watching the sky and started thinking how her life
had changed although sobbing. She loved her husband but know she viewed it in a different manner.

Implementation Of Six Sigma Practices
Implementation of Six Sigma throughout 3M worldwide, presents extensive benefits to the
organization. The most important element is the initiative is supported and motivated beginning with
the CEO. (Schroeder, R., Goldstein, S; 2013) the top five benefits are:
Constant improvements to all areas and processes worldwide,
Conduct work on the most important projects that will increase sales, cash flow while satisfying
customers,
The Six Sigma practices and methodologies of one system strengthen communications, information
sharing, acceleration of projects and completion dates, implementing accurate current data
information, subsequently useable historically in the future.
Above all stakeholders, worldwide employees, shareholders and customers benefit.
Costs associated for 3M implementing Six Sigma accumulate first establishing time for training and
retaining Black Belts, which includes all the executives, then training of managers and employees.
These costs will be measured against the results of implementing Six Sigma. Next, the Super Y s of

The Epic Of Beowulf And The Anglo-Saxon Heros
Since the creation of man, there has been one thing that has always been consistent. That thing is the
yearning to acquire information and knowledge. For the majority of history, most people have not had
the privilege of being able to read. As a result, stories and information had to be passed down orally.
This is absolutely true when focusing on the history of the Anglo Saxons. The Anglo Saxons told
stories that were phantasmagoric and revolved around the concept of fate, also known as wyrd. There
is no piece of literature that accurately represents the Anglo Saxon way of telling stories that is better
than the epic of Beowulf. Beowulf is a story about a man who traveled from his motherland of
Geatland to Denmark which was being haunted by the demon Grendel. He ended up killing Grendel,
making Herot safe once again. He who had come to them from across the sea, bold and strong minded,
had driven affliction off, purged Herot clean [..] A prince of the Geats, had killed Grendel ended the
grief, the sorrow, the suffering forced on Hrothgar s helpless people by the bloodthirsty fiend. No
Dane doubted the victory, for the proof, hanging high from the rafters where Beowulf had hung it, was

Beowulf had killed the demon, the Danes boasted about him and rewarded him with gifts. Soon after
the death of Grendel, another demon had been awakened and had revenge in mind. The

Emperors, Nero and Elagabalus, were in gay unions. It wasn t until the advent of Christianity that the
practice of same sex marriage was out lawed by the emperors Constantius II and Constans in 342 AD
and has continued to be through out most of the world until the twenty first century (Boswell 83).
With the advent of gay rights movement in many industrialized countries, same sex marriage has
become more accepted. A prime example of this is what lawmakers in the state of New York did on
June 24, 2011. With a thirty three to twenty nine vote, the legislature legalized ... Show more content

In contrast to the legislation of DOMA, The United States Supreme Court has repeatedly held that
marriage is one of the most fundamental rights that we have as Americans under our Constitution. As
Justice Ginsburg famously noted in 1996 that the history of our constitution is the history of extending
constitutional protections to those who were once ignored or excluded from American Society. United

Increase Household Debt Levels At Australia
Increase Household Debt Levels
At the end of 2013 total household debt was at a 25 year high of $1.84 trillion, the amount of debt
owed by households was nearly 1.8 times the amount of disposable income earned by households in
that year, (ABS 2014). This significant rise in debt taken on by Australian households can be
attributed to favourable macroeconomic conditions and historically low rates of interest and inflation,
(Meng, Hoang Siriwardana 2013).
Favourable macroeconomic conditions:
Prior to the Global Financial Crisis Australia experienced strong economic growth, low levels of
unemployment and strong growth in both the housing and share market. This was due to the mining
boom and strong demand for Australia s commodity exports. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This can be seen through the fisher equation when nominal interest rates are low and inflation rates are
low, households are able to borrow more at the same level of repayment costs. This leads to an
increase in the average size of new housing loans. The current borrowers market along with the
governments first home buyers scheme and the vast availability of finance has meant that their has
been an increase in the number of first home buyers acquiring debt, therefore increasing household
debt levels, (Sheehan 2014).
Risks of high household debt levels
Australian households:
(McGrath 2014), suggests that high levels of household debt result in Australian households being
more susceptible to changes in interest rates, changes to household income and other economic
shocks. For example if the Australian economy experience a rise in the level of unemployment or a
reduction in the level of wages, households with high debt levels will be unable to finance their debt
and will eventually default on their loans. This results in consumption spending becoming more
sensitive to changes in expectations about future income, resulting in greater levels of uncertainty,
(Joye 2014).
Additionally because the majority of household debt in Australia is linked to variable rates, rather than
a fixed rate of interest, households a more susceptible to unanticipated changes to the

A Study On Dual Immersion Program
Summary 11
This article written by Potowoski was grounded on a study involving High school graduates whom
had completed a dual immersion program. A dual immersion program might have different names that
people refer to them as. I have heard such names as two way immersion or, even two way bilingual
immersion. They are the same program. They include native English speaking students and native
speakers of a foreign language. The goals of dual immersion programs are to develop bilingualism,
academic achievement, and of course cross cultural competencies in both languages .This study
analyzes their proficiency in reading writing and speaking, and also it observes their capability of
producing and identifying the correct Spanish

immersion students capable of producing and recognizing socio linguistically appropriate Spanish?
The setting of the study was an Inter American magnet school was one of the oldest dual immersion
schools in the US. It populates about 640 students ranging from pre k to 8th grade. There were 52
participants. 30 of them were heritage speakers and age they began learning English was :(9 of them
by birth, 14 since preschool, 5 since kinder or first, 2 since 3rd or 4th grade) 17 knew Spanish as a
second language and ages they began were (6 since preschool, 8 in kinder or first, 3 in 3rd or 4th
grade) and 5 were late arrival in which all 5 arrived in US during 6th or 7th only two years before
study. The measures were focused on dual immersion students overall written, reading, and oral
abilities. Two measures were used to test students oral Spanish. One was the Spanish Language
Assessment Scales Oral, a standardized exam. It includes identifying vocabulary items displayed in
ten drawings, a multiple choice listening comprehension section, and listening to a story and then
retelling it while viewing picture prompts. Another way they were tested was by the Foreign Language

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Near Threshold Voltage...
Near Threshold Voltage (NTV) Circuits Design, Future Opportunities and Challenges  Abstract
Using Moore s law, we will continue to get abundant transistors which only will be limited by the
amount of energy consumed. Energy efficiency can be improved to many orders of magnitude with
the help of Near Threshold Voltage (NTV). There are various Design techniques required for reliable
operation on a wide range of input voltage from very low to sub threshold region. Coming to the
systems designed for NTVs, they can select their modes of operation dynamically from very high
performances, to high efficient energy modes and also to lowest power. Index Terms Near Threshold

Frequency assignment in many core system Sub threshold Leakage: The sub threshold leakage power
will mainly have two bad effects. (1) disproportionately large leakage in power , and (2) higher
variability in the leakage of power. Active power reduces cubically, but leakage power does not, and
this is the main reason why, larger share of sub threshold leakage power are with NTV operations
except leaving out the disproportionality. Figure 3: Sub threshold leakage power The total power
consumption is very much lower , but there will be substantial leakage power. At low level logic
activity, the active power is low, the leakage power dominates, reducing the NTV effectiveness for
energy efficiency. Thus, in combination with sleep transistors or power gating chips, fine grain power
leakage management will be much more important. SRAM AND REGISTER

Literature review
There is a wide recognition of branding strategy as a source of competitive advantage in domestic
markets (Biel, 1992; Calderon et al., 1997; Chaudhuri and Holbrook, 2001; de
Chernatony, 2001; Farquhar, 1994; Moore et al., 2000; Mosmans, 1996; Mosmans and van der Vorst,
1998; Rubinstein, 1996). A brand in a holistic sense represents the synergistic effect of all marketing
efforts that instil and perpetuate an image in customers minds, and contribute to the success of a firm
by creating stronger cash flows and higher values for shareholders as demonstrated by Yovovich
(1988).
In addition to this holistic view of branding, a brand can be used as a corporate strategic tool to
enhance a firm s performance (Mosmans, 1996; Mosmans and van der
Vorst, 1998). Some argue that a brand can be placed as the focal point of a firm so that brand issues
can be coordinated and given higher priority (Capon et al., 2001; Urde,
1994, 1999). This approach of brand orientation extends the resource based theory of marketing
strategy, in terms of how brands are created, developed, maintained, and protected, and can result in
enhanced performance of firms. Broadening the brand spectrum means that branding goes beyond
marketing communications and should be regarded as an integrated business approach (Rubinstein,
1996). Firms must manage the various aspects of a brand and tie it to the total

Steps for Conducting a Postmortem
Conducting Post Mortem The following are the steps taken for conducting an incident post mortem;
first, is to get a clear picture of the state of affairs. It is critical to analyze network maps, talk to the
key witnesses of the disaster, learning the occurrences from the data available from the weather
department in a bid to collect evidence. At this stage getting every log available is useful, thereby
casting a wide net in order to capture the details of the occurrences including the causes. This includes
getting information from all the relevant organizations involved in weather forecasting. In addition to
this the availability of imaging will be helpful as part of the information on the incident. In the same
line collecting data from other sources such as the internet including logs are also fundamental in
establishing a complete scenario of the causes, happenings and aftermath of the disaster. Second, it is
important to gather a set of incident hypotheses. A quality hypothesis is critical. This is a hypothesis
that can be disapproved or approved, supported or nullified by the available information. The
hypothesis set the tone of the feedback to senior government officials on the performance of various
response teams during the event. Third, conducting an interview with all the response teams will be
helpful in gathering detailed information about what happened as well as the participation of each
team. This requires thorough preparation of timeline of the event.

American Culture Vs Vietnamese Culture
The United States and Vietnam have almost opposite cultural systems under Hofstede s cultural
dimensions. There are four main categories which is a power distance, uncertainty avoidance,
masculinity or feminine, and individualism or collectivism. Vietnamese has a high power distance
when the US have much lower power distance. For instance, they respect others by their ages because
of their culture. Usually an elder man is the most powerful person in a family and a decision maker.
Parents didn t used to allow to speak up anything from their children and also some physical violence
were accepted as discipline, but it s been changing. Uncertainly avoidance is weak in a family

They don t call other s name without Mr. Ms. in Vietnamese. Even for younger people, they have a
word for it. They have very interesting verbal communication style which is they avoid to say no in
their conversation because it would be disrespectful. For instance, if someone invites you to a party
and you won t be able to go, but still you should say yes at the moment. Even if they said yes, they
might not show up. The host won t get mad or upset in a situation. In their culture, it s better for them
just not showing up with yes answer instead of saying no in person because they want to keep their

is common culture in Asia. Still, yes answer which means no would not be acceptable in Japan.
Vietnamese also avoid to correct others mistake or praise only one person in front of others. They rely
on more non verbal communication than vernal communication. Men use handshake and bowing

Similarities Between King Lear And Much Ado About Nothing
Lear Ado
(A Comparative Analysis of Dramatic Genres Between Shakespeare s, King Lear and Much Ado
About Nothing) Within the world of drama and performance, there are two central ends of the genre
spectrum. These are essentially the light and dark of the stage. These opposite ends of the spectrum
are comedy and tragedy, respectively. While some people may prefer one genre over the other, these
both find ways to tell great stories with greatly different methods. One eternally famous playwright,
William Shakespeare wrote countless plays in both of these styles. Two exquisite examples of these
genres are his King Lear, and Much Ado About Nothing. These plays demonstrate the great contrast
between comedy and tragedy through the high to low character falls or climbs, amount of humor, and
prominence of death and suffering. The greatest difference between comedy and tragedy lies in the
transition of how characters rise and fall. Comedies typically end with low characters ending happily,
heroes succeeding, and sources of tension find themselves in a ... Show more content on

The Ever Growing Inmate Population and
Its Effects on the Prison System
Frankie Lorino Jr.
University of Troy Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to look at the prevalence of overcrowding in the United States prison
system, what led to its current conditions, and how it effects the its fundamental function. The
explanation of growth is suggested by Davey 1998 and Anderson 2000. Jacobson, 2005 outlines some
of the affairs leading to the change in prison functions. The dire state of conditions in prison facilities
is exemplified by McConville, 1987. Furthermore McConville also offers some possible resolutions to
the current problems. The Ever Growing Inmate Population and
Its Effects on the Prison System When thinking of the prison system in the United States, one fact that
may be shocking is that it ranks as one of the highest per capita inmate populations in the world. The
United States has seen an ever growing prison population over the last few decades. The results of
prison inmate inflation are causing more strains than facilities can handle. The increasing number of
inmates is a result of the reluctance to help rehabilitate inmates and develop their ability to function
and add value to society.
Increase in prison population through the years Consequences
The United States now locks up a higher percentage of its population than any country in the world
(Jacobson, 2005, p. 8). Prison populations across the United States are increasing at a faster

Essay On Flood In Maryland
The first hazard that residents of Maryland are exposed to during a hurricane are floods. Floods can
become very dangerous in a coastal community that is already close to sea level. With a flood

roads in any area. With flooding, becomes standing water or wet materials within a structure. Standing
water or wet materials cause bacteria, mold, and viruses that can cause disease, which can trigger
allergic reactions, and continue to damage materials long after a flood has occurred. Severe floods not
only ruin homes or local businesses and destroy personal property, but the water left behind can cause
further damage to property and its contents. The environment and wildlife are also at risk with floods,

Storm surge is an abnormal rise of water generated from a hurricane, over and above the predicted
tide. Most storm surges are caused from the strong winds of a hurricane or tropical storm. Storm
surges cause an abundant amount of flooding with no means of lowering until the winds and tides are
back to normal. A hurricane can produce destructive storm surge, which is water that is pushed toward
the shore by the force of the winds swirling around the storm. This advancing surge combines with the
normal tides to create the hurricane storm tide, which can increase the mean water level 15 feet or
more. According to the Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative (ESRGC), Maryland has been
subject to its share of major flooding events from the first recorded flood on May 11, 1860 in
Baltimore City along Jones Falls to the devastating floods caused by the tidal surge of Hurricane

Answer: Seasoned idea start up and New idea start up need to hold different types forecasting. A new
idea start up needs a forecasting method based around location, market research, and product material
cost. A seasoned idea start up requires a forecasting that revolves more around potential market risk,
potential, growth, and comparable products.
2. QUESTION: what are the external forces that we cannot control within a business?
Answer: Factors that we cannot control within a business is better known as External Forces. Ventures
require correct planning in order to be financed correctly. This entails a detailed plan an entrepreneur
hopes to carrying out, however, a minor external factor can be brought into the mix in any moment
that can change that plan drastically. An example of an external factor crippling certain businesses is
the housing bubble of 2008. Even if businesses had nothing to do with the real estate market some of
their businesses failed due to the fact that they could not gather finances to keep their doors open and
business running. External factors are not just limited to economic downturns, however, they include
factors such as laws and regulations and trends. If your product or service becomes highly regulated,
then laws and regulations are a major external factor. Trends also lead to major external forces for
businesses because if their product or service

The Battle of Hastings Led by William of Normandy
The Battle of Hastings took place in October of the year 1066. It was fought between the Normans
(French) and the Anglo Saxons (English). The English were led by Harold II, while the French were
led by William of Normandy. William of Normandy made some key decisions in the battle that
allowed his army to defeat the English. William of Normandy followed Sun Tzu s Art of War and
because of the he went on to win the battle. William of Normandy won the battle by following Sun
Tzu s teachings of Weak points Strong, Strategy and tactics, and leading by example. William of
Normandy used Sun Tzu s tactic of attacking the enemy s weakness while avoiding the enemy s
strength. According to Sun Tzu Art of War When Strong, avoid them. If of high morale, depress them.
Seem humble to fill when conceit. If at ease, exhaust them. If united separate them. Attack their
weaknesses. Emerge to their surprise. The previous quote tells us to stay away from enemy who is
strong, and if they are strong, make them weak. Then once they are weak attack them and exploit their
weaknesses. William of Normandy demonstrated this tactic very well. He exploited the strong shield
wall of the Anglo Saxons by retreating his army. Although it may seem counterintuitive as the French
retreated the Shield Wall broke as the Saxons charged at their opponent. The now vulnerable Saxon
Army was wiped out by William s cavalry. William of Normandy successfully used Sun Tzu s tactic of

Raid At Dieppe Essay
Why was the raid at Dieppe such a failure? Are failures simply undesirable or a beneficial for future
experiences? On August 19, 1942, the Raid at Dieppe is considered a failure due to the significant
casualties and the incompletion of the planned objectives. The Raid at Dieppe is said to have failed
due to multiple reasons. One of the primary factors to cause the failure of the operation is the absence
of effective communication, both before and during the raid. Furthermore, the operation incorporated
various fatal strategic errors. As well, the backup for the landing troops was limited during the raid. In

Initially, the element of surprise was lost. As the attacking troops approached the eastern beach sector,
the landing craft unexpectedly encountered a German Convoy. The sea fight noises alerted German
coastal defences. (The Dieppe Raid, Veterans Affairs Canada). The German troops know that Dieppe
was being attacked, and embraced themselves for action. Without attacking at surprise, the allied
troops encountered prepared German fire upon landing and was unable to advance. Moreover, the
location chosen for the raid was lossmaking. Dieppe had a beach which was extremely narrow, and
was commanded by lofty cliffs, where German Soldiers were strategically placed (The Dieppe Raid,
Veterans Affairs Canada). Such terrain not only made it difficult for soldiers to advance, but it also
created difficulty to land and operate tanks to back up the infantry. Additionally, the element of
darkness was lost. Before departing for Dieppe, The landing craft carrying the troops were meant to be
lined up behind gun boats. The landing craft for the Royal Canadian Regiment of Canada lined up
behind the wrong gun boat, which would have taken them to the wrong beach. The problem took
twenty minutes to solve (Dieppe 1942, History Learning Site). When the troops finally landed on the
beach, it was already dawn, and the German soldiers were able to spot the soldiers and fire with
accuracy. Strategic mistakes in the Dieppe Raid truly played a major part in the failure of the

My Leadership Philosophy
With regards to leadership, my strength lies in my desire to help everyone. A leader has to put the
group first and make every decision with that principle in mind. When freshman approach me in the
hallway, eyes wide with terror and uncertainty, I stop and ask them what they need. If the track team
needs and extra runner for a race, even if I despise that race, I ll step up. My philosophy is to lead by
example, not by command. I ve found that simply telling people what to do is the most ineffective
way to actually get them to do it. For example, I am very passionate about track and want the track
team to do extremely well at state this year. Instead of giving a rousing speech about courage and
strength, I started training months in advance. By making myself better, I encourage others to be better
too. I m not the best on the team by a longshot, but by working hard I inspire others to be better than
me. My goal by the end of track season is not to be the best on the team, but for the rest of the team to
be better because of me. By doing that extra lap I hope to inspire others to do the same. ... Show more

To be is life, prosperity, and the purse of happiness. If there were no humans there will be no earth
humans are placed on earth to take care of it. In the first book of the Bible Genesis gives a great

his children because we are a resemblance of God. God created us to take care of the creation he has

Rastafarianism, which can be viewed as a religion or culture. Rastafarianism holds strong beliefs in
the use of cannabis. According to Murrell, The ritual smoking of marijuana (ganja) also plays an
important role in Rastafarian life. This holy herb is highly valued for its physical, psychological and
therapeutic powers (1998). These deeply rooted beliefs made Bob Marley stay genuine throughout his
life. He truly embraced cannabis and throughout his influential celebrity status he kept it in a positive
light. There is speculation that during the Vietnam War, many protestors of the war were cannabis
users, so the Nixon Campaign began the war on drugs specifically targeting cannabis users to decrease
protestors. With governments targeting cannabis culture a lot

Sherman Alexie Indian Education
Throughout history, Native Americans have been discriminated against, stolen from, and forced into
appropriation, particularly in the education system. In the short story Indian Education, Sherman
Alexie describes his schooling from childhood to adolescence. Alexie s usage of formatting and other
literary devices develops the themes of starvation in acceptance, starvation in understanding, and
starvation in friendship. From the start of the short story, Alexie begins portraying the lack of
acceptance and friendship in his childhood. Sherman Alexie structures the story to create a timeline
for the reader. Beginning with the subheading First Grade evokes imagery of a young boy. The
description of this time in Alexie s life shows

Men Have Control Over Women In The Story Of An Hour
Some people believe that once they marry they are giving up their freedom. In some cases, this is true,
especially in the late 19th century. Woman during this period were marrying as young as 15 years old
and were marrying men well into their 30s. This caused a lack of communication and love between a
married couple and usually resulted in the man having control over the woman. The idea of men
having control over women in marriage can be seen in Kate Chopin s The Story of an Hour. In this
short story, Louise Mallard learns of her husband s death due to a fatal train accident. Sad and alone at
first, Mrs. Mallard sits in her room contemplating how she will live now that her husband is gone.
Soon her emotions are flipped and Mrs. Mallard

The Career s Of Many Hip Hop Artist
N.W.A. influenced and started the career s of many hip hop artist. N.W.A. as a whole broke down the
social barriers with their lyrics and the message behind each and every song. N.W.A. represented a
new age to music doing what had never been done before. Stretching the limits and having to
overcome controversy along the way. Starting from a run down city near Las Angeles, California to
touring across the nation constantly making one hit song after another. N.W.A. inspired many kids,
teenagers, and young adults with their music and what they stood for. Rapping about how racial
tensions and unfairness due a skin color is very wrong. N.W.A. inspired thousands and even millions
to stand up for what was right and to not back down so easy. They also had a fun time while doing so.
Some of the artists that they inspired and even started many careers which turned into legacy s are tied
to N.W.A.. 2 Live Crew, Ice T, Snoop Dogg, and the legendary Tupac are all linked together by the
core strength of Niggaz Wit Attitude (N.W.A.)
2 Live Crew was not scared to say what they wanted to say after N.W.A. went first. Many of their
songs and style of music is perceived as party house music with the use of arguably very inappropriate
lyrics and verses. Many listeners considered them to be X rated and rightfully so. They chose very
bold, strong lyrics and songs to represent who they are. Some of their most popular songs are: Throw

Nat Turner Outline
Nat Turner is an black man that was born in Southampton County, Virginia, On October 2, 1800. He
led a slave rebellion that was one, if not the biggest slave rebellions in history. It also took an
important role in the African American slave society. Nat Turner was born into slavery so he never
knew any kind of happiness his whole life leading up to this rebellion. He was forced to work
unbelievable hours for his masters with no sympathy in return. It was a horrible system of slavery that
Nat Turner eagerly wished to overthrow. The slaves were treated like animals. Forced to work in
whatever climate and day that their masters saw fit. This means that they can use whatever
punishment that they saw fit. Some fellow slaves saw Turner as a spiritual leader. Many people
believed that he was chosen by God to do great things for the slaves. When he was young, he claims
that he saw visions sent by god to overthrow the white evil and tyranny. Turner felt God talking to him
many times through his career as a slave. He had also been seeing signs that he felt were from above.
For example, he had seen this solar eclipse. He felt that this was a sign from God to begin preparations
to overthrow their masters and begin their revolution. He and other slaves began their preps to get it
done and alerted other slaves what they were planning on doing. Other slaves were terrified by the
idea because they felt if they were caught helping Turner then they would be persecuted for helping
him and

Viola Odorata s
In a controlled experiment, how is a plants growth affected by its surroundings? Environmental factors
such as light, water, temperature, and nutrition all take part in plant growth. But do plants affect each
other? If there are three Viola odorata s in a container, then they will grow faster and more efficiently
compared to a container holding nine Viola odorata s whereas they would most likely absorb more
water and other environmental factors.
A Viola odorata is an annual plant that is also known as a sweet violet Wellsiana . These plants
naturally complete their life cycles in about the span of one growing season; in which the plant
sprouts, grows, flowers, sets seed and then dies. Some annuals, including Viola s, thrive in cold
weather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is not to be confused with plant fertilization which is a common mistake. For normal growth
plants are in need of these eighteen elements: hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen which are found in air
and water. The next six elements are known as macronutrients: nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus,
calcium, sulfur, and magnesium which are found in soil. The last nine elements are called the
micronutrients: iron, zinc, molybdenum, nickel, manganese, boron, copper, cobalt, and chlorine which
are found in the soil. All these elements are crucial. Majority of the plants nutrients are dissolved in
water and immersed by the roots. Active absorption is important and essential for the plant to grow
healthy, but the nutrients can be absorbed passively. Some factors that may affect the absorption of
nutrients throughout the roots are the soil pH, type of ion, solubility of ion pairs, oxygen, water, soil,
sugar supply, temperature, and plant stress.
In conclusion, if a container holds a total of three Viola odorata s and absorb more water and other
environmental factors that contribute to plant growth and development, then they will grow faster and
more efficiently than a container that carries nine Viola odorata s that will take in less water, sunlight,
and nutrients since they are all fighting for it. The fact that all the environmental factors play such a
key role in plant growth signifies their importance and the very reason that plants would die without

Function of Disguise in Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare s Twelfth Night is a play based around disguise in the form of deception and
becoming someone different. In Twelfth Night, disguise takes many different shapes from physical
disguise to mental disguise. Disguise is one of the main topics of the play and helps to create the plot.
It brings in confusion and comedy as well as the darker and sadder side of the play which is disguised
as fun and happiness. Disguise is evident from the very beginning of the play. A supposedly noble
Duke Orsino is suffering due to his unrequited love for the Lady Olivia. The Lady Olivia, however, is
also suffering due to the recent deaths of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is not the only way in which disguise is used in Twelfth Night, it is also used to create comedy.
The Lady Olivia s uncle Sir Toby Belch is always being foolish with his friends: Sir Andrew
Aguecheek and Maria, the maid. Malvolio, Olivia s steward is forever telling them to stop fooling
about and Toby, Andrew and Maria take their revenge by playing a trick on him. Maria disguises her
handwriting as Olivia s as their handwriting is very similar:
I can write very like my Lady your niece, on a forgotten matter we can hardly make distinction of our
hands .
She writes a counterfeit letter to Malvolio stating that Olivia is in love with him when of course she is
not. The letter also says that to impress Olivia Malvolio should adorn yellow, cross gartered stockings
which Olivia detests. Malvolio follows the letter s advice much to Maria, Toby and Andrew s delight
and dresses in the yellow stockings. Olivia, unaware of what is going on thinks Malvolio is going
mad:
Why this is very midsummer madness
This trick would not have worked if the letter had not been disguised as Olivia s.
Disguise also helps to create a further sense of comedy as the audience knows things about disguise
that the characters do not.

My Experience At Milpitas High School
It was just like any other day. The cool, dry, air acted as a reminder that fall is just around the corner
and summer won t be around for long. Large crowds shuffled around non stop and their voices filled
the air. Being part of the crowd, I walked sluggishly towards my destination, just like everyone else.
Everyone in the crowd had a different destination and every destination offered something different.
As of right now, a good day lies ahead. Ten minutes before the morning bell rang, I arrived at my first
period classroom. Being a student at Milpitas High School, I am just like most of you sitting in the
room right now, and just like most of you, I m still trying to get used to the fact that summer is history.
After being here for about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It wouldn t open. She frowned and tried again. To my horror, the door refused to budge. Confused, my
teacher gave the door several more yanks. When the door remained stubborn, she called security on
the radio. As everyone continued to wait, she continued to yank on the door. At this point, so many
things were shooting through my mind. Part of me thought, Oh, well this is great. What I am supposed
to do now? I technically don t have my backpack anymore because it s now stuck inside the
classroom. Let s see, how many classes would I fail if I don t have my bag. Maybe I ll only fail a few.
Actually, never mind, I ll fail all of them.
Another part of me thought, Man, talk about timing. I don t think I was ever this lucky before.
Two minutes later, a tough looking security man came to the rescue. He immediately gave the door a
hard tug only to find out that the door had no intentions to move. The door simply refused to budge.
After several more pulls, the security man gave up, looked at us, and said, We re moving you guys to
another classroom.
With no other choice left, our whole class took an early morning hike to the other side of the school to
get to a vacant classroom and the rest of the first period proceeded slowly. Periodically, I glanced at
the clock and then at the door, hoping that someone come into the classroom with some good news.
That never happened. As I pondered about whether or not I would have the chance to grab my

This bank loan promissory note is a financial asset that is destroyed in this transaction since it no longer exists after it is paid off. 1.56. Discuss the agency problem in detail. An agent is hired by the principal to perform some duty that benefits the needs of the principal. The agency problem is an issue that occurs when the agents use their authority to make decisions in their own interest at the expense of the principals. For example, company managers (agents) were put in place to make decisions that maximize the wealth of the shareholders (principals) but may instead engage in empire building or may make inefficient company decisions for job security. In order to mitigate these potential agency problems, several mechanisms have evolved. These include directly tying the compensation of managers to the success of the firm; oversight and influence by the board of directors as well as outsiders such as security analysts, creditors, or large institutional investors; the threat of a proxy contest by unhappy shareholders to replace the current management team; or the threat of takeover by another firm. However, most of these mechanisms have a low chance of success or can create other problems. The best mechanism that prevents agency problems is the threat of takeover by another firm. If the ... • 4. Innocence in The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger Essay One of the purist times in a person s life is childhood, during this time life is easy and often romanticized. As a person grows older the innocence and naivety of childhood begins to fade into a hardness caused by the harsh realties of adulthood. Though the transition from childhood is hard, one most remember not to rush into adulthood savor your innocence . In Catcher In the Rye , by J.D. Salinger the main character Holden Caulfield is in the transitional stage, he finds it hard for him to grow up and act like an adult. So instead of rushing in to adulthood, he finds slowing down the process and acting less adult like is better for him. But the two youngest members of the family are the main recipients of his praise and joy. When he talked about his brother Allie that passed away it is always good. The quote that sums up his feelings towards Allies is, he was a nice kid. (Salinger 38) He relies on Allie when he has a problem or needs to think things through. When he was contemplating his leave and walking to give Phoebe her letter he talked to the ghost of Allie. The other sibling is Phoebe, Phoebe seem to be the apple of his eye. When he thought about leaving he only wanted and needed to say good bye to Phoebe and no one else. The way he talks about D.B. is very different then the way he rants on about his younger siblings, he never talks bad or factious about D.B. he just doesn t praise him as much. He views D.B. As phony and a Hollywood sellout. In many aspects the siblings are the same the only difference is their age and innocence level. He adores and admires the more innocent younger siblings, while he views the oldest one as being a fake. This just proves that Salinger thinks innocence s should be captured and cherished. Holden seem to be weird and indifferent when it comes to females and sexual relationships. He has a made up sex life when in actuality he has yet to do anything. • 5. Examples Of The Final Solution Throughout history there has been many horrific events. Both in Europe and in America and other countries around the world. One of the if not the most horrific would have to be the Holocaust also known as the final solution. Before the start of World War II, around 9.5 million Jewish people lived in Europe. By the time the war ended, the Nazis had killed 6 million European Jews in concentration camps, or pogroms, or ghettos, or mass executions in what we refer to today as the Holocaust. The Nazis used the term Endlösung, or Final Solution, as the answer to the Jewish question (Boissoneault, 2016). They were banned from owning land, having successful businesses, and participating in entertainment. If after all that things weren t bad enough for them they were thrown in the gas chambers, others had to watch their families and friends die. The Holocaust ended when Russian, British and American troops invaded Poland and Germany in the final stages of world War 2. This invasion led to the end of the war and Germany capitulating. Payback period also doesn t specify any required comparison to other investments or even to not making an investment. The internal rate of return has limitations such as not being an investment decision tool to rate mutually exclusive projects but only for deciding if a single project is worth investing in. • 7. Influences Of Plato s Republic, Plato, And Marcus Aurelius A leader is an explorer, cutting a path through the jungle for the rest of his group to follow, (Team). The goal of a leader should be to set an example, and standard for others. The well known, Machiavelli, Plato, and Marcus Aurelius have varying opinions of what a leader should be. Only one view of a leader that I can agree with correlates with the voice of Aurelius most. Despite this, I must admit that Machiavelli s and Plato s writings of the Prince and Republic offers a few point that can be validated. The writings of Plato s Republic, Machiavelli s Prince, and Aurelius s Meditations all contain a visions of a leader, but the descriptions of Aurelius are more closely related to what a leader is. There are three impactful minds that affect how people perceive the essence of a leader, and they are Machiavelli, Plato and Marcus Aurelius. In Plato s Republic, Plato describes what he believes a leader to possess. He describes a leader to be the person who understands the forms, and seeks the truth. He calls that person a philosopher king, or a joyful shepherd of sheep. This man/woman is able to determine what is real and what is not. With this ability they are able to lead people with a selflessness that cannot be matched by the other two figures. Moving on to Marcus Aurelius s outlook, the differences show through plainly. Aurelius begins with the definition of stoicism, which is a Greek philosophy that teaches the development of self control and fortitude as a means ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Unbearable Lightness Of Being By Milan Kundera People attempt to find comfort in aligning themselves to certain polar values, whether they are things like good or bad, order or chaos, or even political values such as liberal or conservative. In these values people assign for themselves, they are searching for contentment, but within every human is a battle between the two sides these two sides are lightness and weight. The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera depicts this feud in the lives of 4 tragic protagonists: Tomas, Tereza, Franz, and Sabina. These four are in a constant feud between lightness and weight, and only removing the veil of these human abstractions can lead towards a path for contentment. He falls deeply for Sabina after leaving his child and wife, and his affair soon becomes the most weighty thing in his life. Yet when he met Sabina at the airport. As the plane gained altitude, he felt lighter and lighter. At last, he said to himself, he was living in truth (114). Even if the lightness is just something he wants to experience and he is not truly living in lightness, he is still fighting to become light. Franz has a deep desire to be like Sabina, and he worships her for the lightness she possesses and he lacks. Kundera discusses the idea of the struggle for lightness and weight existing in the real world as well. Yakov Stalin, the son of Joseph Stalin, experienced the highest degree of this internal conflict: Rejection and privilege, happiness and woe no one felt more concretely than Yakov how interchangeable opposites are, how short the step from one pole of human existence to the other (244). Kundera notes that the poles of lightness and weight are dizzyingly close, and it is this dizziness that drives Yakov to try to kill himself. The conflict inside him is so uncomfortable that he sees the need to end his life just to stop it. This proves that lightness and weight, rather than allowing people to find contentment, only drives people further away from it. The way an individual aligns ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A number of different vehicles from sports cars to vans to golf carts have had solar panels added to flat surfaces, primarily their roofs. Some of the vehicles are ordinary cars which have been modified for solar; others are highly futuristic. The picture below is a good example of a futuristic design. The vehicle, called car on a stick was designed to be used as a streetlight when not being driven, which accounts for the one sitting at a higher elevation in the picture, as opposed to the one on the ground. Additionally, validity is concerned with the degree of correspondence with assessing the course of study or standards being taught within the classroom. In other words, validity relates the level of significances of the inferences, excluding the test, instrument, or procedures used to collect information (McMillan, 2014). Darling Hammond, Herman, Pellegrino, et al. (2013) denote that with a specific end goal to be genuinely legitimate for an extensive variety of learners, validity quantifies well what assessments imply to gauge, precisely assesses students capacities, and correlate testing connections between the test administrators and test takers. For classroom assessments, Bonner (as cited in McMillan, 2014) states, one of the important consequences to consider for validity is the impact of the assessment on student learning (p. 65). Therefore, consistently reflecting whether the assessment is reasonable in its effect on student motivation and learning within the context in what is being taught. In order to maintain the diversity, the American government not only receives people from different backgrounds, but also sends American to all over the world in order to learn from various cultures. Even though countries become increasingly closer in their relations, there still exists numerous stereotypes and negative labeling among multi ethnic groups, which are most common between oriental and western. Stereotype towards Oriental women is one of the main themes in the play. The distressing ending that brings up Gallimard s suicide is an irreversible result of his distorted thinking toward Asian women, which blinds him to every truth about Song. As the title implies, Asian women are often compared to butterflies that are docile and delicate. In fact, the audience will discover that Oriental women are strong enough to take initiatives in reality. Both Gallimard and Song incorporate cultural notions into the performance and perception, so that Song is able to exploit Gallimard by those conventions. More than stereotypes toward Oriental women, the play also criticizes how the Western emasculate Oriental from their point of view, like what Gallimard claims in the play, Orientals will always submit to a greater force. (Act 2, Scene 3) Western flatters themselves that only a Westerner knows how the Oriental should act, with the view of Oriental as an effeminate female with delicacy and subservient. As Song explains The West has sort of an international rape mentality towards the East. (Act 3, Scene 1) By creating a false image of Song s gender precisely, Hwang brings another remarkable topic in this play, which is sexism. • 14. Romanticism In The Romantic Period The Romanic period held great tools in which to develop personal expression within poetry As popularity shifted from Neoclassism, a rigid writing form whereby poets and writers were encouraged to copy those who also shared the poetic platform, to an increased in the importance of the individual capabilities. Critic Christopher John Murray argues that The idea of poetry as the sincere personal expression of the individual author emerged as central to the Romantic lyric and to aesthetics and hermeneutics more generally connected to the increasingly important idea of genius as a uniquely personal power of creative imagination and expression. This confirms my theory that there during the Romantic Period there a shift from more social values in literature to a focus now on personal ability . The importance of asking the question of why and how this shift from Neoclassical to Romantic happened, is essential in understanding the literature of the time. Not only was the mechanical and rigid Enlightenment rejected, the new period known as Romantic period ordered for emotional directness and the overflow of personal feeling. Although Romanticism pathed the way for self expression, some Poets were still very much favoring rhetoric, Angela Esterhammer comments on this, Though Romanticism is often considered as the period which saw the emergence of self expression as a poetic model and an ethos, a good many of the Romantic poets were formally trained in rhetoric. • 17. The Epic Of Beowulf And The Anglo-Saxon Heros Since the creation of man, there has been one thing that has always been consistent. That thing is the yearning to acquire information and knowledge. For the majority of history, most people have not had the privilege of being able to read. As a result, stories and information had to be passed down orally. This is absolutely true when focusing on the history of the Anglo Saxons. The Anglo Saxons told stories that were phantasmagoric and revolved around the concept of fate, also known as wyrd. There is no piece of literature that accurately represents the Anglo Saxon way of telling stories that is better than the epic of Beowulf. Beowulf is a story about a man who traveled from his motherland of Geatland to Denmark which was being haunted by the demon Grendel. He ended up killing Grendel, making Herot safe once again. He who had come to them from across the sea, bold and strong minded, had driven affliction off, purged Herot clean [..] A prince of the Geats, had killed Grendel ended the grief, the sorrow, the suffering forced on Hrothgar s helpless people by the bloodthirsty fiend. Increase Household Debt Levels At Australia Increase Household Debt Levels At the end of 2013 total household debt was at a 25 year high of $1.84 trillion, the amount of debt owed by households was nearly 1.8 times the amount of disposable income earned by households in that year, (ABS 2014). This significant rise in debt taken on by Australian households can be attributed to favourable macroeconomic conditions and historically low rates of interest and inflation, (Meng, Hoang Siriwardana 2013). Favourable macroeconomic conditions: Prior to the Global Financial Crisis Australia experienced strong economic growth, low levels of unemployment and strong growth in both the housing and share market. This was due to the mining boom and strong demand for Australia s commodity exports. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be seen through the fisher equation when nominal interest rates are low and inflation rates are low, households are able to borrow more at the same level of repayment costs. This leads to an increase in the average size of new housing loans. Risks of high household debt levels Australian households: (McGrath 2014), suggests that high levels of household debt result in Australian households being more susceptible to changes in interest rates, changes to household income and other economic shocks. For example if the Australian economy experience a rise in the level of unemployment or a reduction in the level of wages, households with high debt levels will be unable to finance their debt and will eventually default on their loans. This results in consumption spending becoming more sensitive to changes in expectations about future income, resulting in greater levels of uncertainty, (Joye 2014). A brand in a holistic sense represents the synergistic effect of all marketing efforts that instil and perpetuate an image in customers minds, and contribute to the success of a firm by creating stronger cash flows and higher values for shareholders as demonstrated by Yovovich (1988). In addition to this holistic view of branding, a brand can be used as a corporate strategic tool to enhance a firm s performance (Mosmans, 1996; Mosmans and van der Vorst, 1998). Some argue that a brand can be placed as the focal point of a firm so that brand issues can be coordinated and given higher priority (Capon et al., 2001; Urde, 1994, 1999). This approach of brand orientation extends the resource based theory of marketing strategy, in terms of how brands are created, developed, maintained, and protected, and can result in enhanced performance of firms. Broadening the brand spectrum means that branding goes beyond marketing communications and should be regarded as an integrated business approach (Rubinstein, 1996). It is critical to analyze network maps, talk to the key witnesses of the disaster, learning the occurrences from the data available from the weather department in a bid to collect evidence. At this stage getting every log available is useful, thereby casting a wide net in order to capture the details of the occurrences including the causes. This includes getting information from all the relevant organizations involved in weather forecasting. In addition to this the availability of imaging will be helpful as part of the information on the incident. In the same line collecting data from other sources such as the internet including logs are also fundamental in establishing a complete scenario of the causes, happenings and aftermath of the disaster. Second, it is important to gather a set of incident hypotheses. A quality hypothesis is critical. This is a hypothesis that can be disapproved or approved, supported or nullified by the available information. The hypothesis set the tone of the feedback to senior government officials on the performance of various response teams during the event. To overcome this, the only thing I can do is to take the leap. I will fail, and I have failed many times already, but I ve also made the correct choices. By practicing failure, I m mastering success. God cares about everything he created but he cares more about his children because we are a resemblance of God. God created us to take care of the creation he has made. In the book of Romans Chapter 8:12 17 provides more information about human identity. In Romans 8:12 13 says So then, my friends, we have an obligation, but it is not to live as our human nature wants us to. For if you live according to your human nature, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death your sinful actions, you will live (The Ultimate Student Bible). Another exceedingly referenced individual is a classic man whose culture has cannabis deeply rooted in their beliefs. Bob Marley could be reflected as one of the most iconic figures in marijuana culture. I believe this to be the case because Bob Marley did not consume in a typical way. He was very nonchalant about it and certainly was a pioneer in cannabis culture. Marley believed and practiced Rastafarianism, which can be viewed as a religion or culture. Rastafarianism holds strong beliefs in the use of cannabis. According to Murrell, The ritual smoking of marijuana (ganja) also plays an important role in Rastafarian life. This holy herb is highly valued for its physical, psychological and therapeutic powers (1998). These deeply rooted beliefs made Bob Marley stay genuine throughout his life. He truly embraced cannabis and throughout his influential celebrity status he kept it in a positive light. He led a slave rebellion that was one, if not the biggest slave rebellions in history. It also took an important role in the African American slave society. Nat Turner was born into slavery so he never knew any kind of happiness his whole life leading up to this rebellion. He was forced to work unbelievable hours for his masters with no sympathy in return. It was a horrible system of slavery that Nat Turner eagerly wished to overthrow. The slaves were treated like animals. Forced to work in whatever climate and day that their masters saw fit. This means that they can use whatever punishment that they saw fit. Some fellow slaves saw Turner as a spiritual leader. Many people believed that he was chosen by God to do great things for the slaves. When he was young, he claims that he saw visions sent by god to overthrow the white evil and tyranny. Turner felt God talking to him many times through his career as a slave. He had also been seeing signs that he felt were from above. For example, he had seen this solar eclipse. He felt that this was a sign from God to begin preparations to overthrow their masters and begin their revolution. He and other slaves began their preps to get it done and alerted other slaves what they were planning on doing. For normal growth plants are in need of these eighteen elements: hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen which are found in air and water. The next six elements are known as macronutrients: nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sulfur, and magnesium which are found in soil. The last nine elements are called the micronutrients: iron, zinc, molybdenum, nickel, manganese, boron, copper, cobalt, and chlorine which are found in the soil. All these elements are crucial. Majority of the plants nutrients are dissolved in water and immersed by the roots. Active absorption is important and essential for the plant to grow healthy, but the nutrients can be absorbed passively. Some factors that may affect the absorption of nutrients throughout the roots are the soil pH, type of ion, solubility of ion pairs, oxygen, water, soil, sugar supply, temperature, and plant stress. In conclusion, if a container holds a total of three Viola odorata s and absorb more water and other environmental factors that contribute to plant growth and development, then they will grow faster and more efficiently than a container that carries nine Viola odorata s that will take in less water, sunlight, and nutrients since they are all fighting for it.
