There is a wide recognition of branding strategy as a source of competitive advantage in domestic
markets (Biel, 1992; Calderon et al., 1997; Chaudhuri and Holbrook, 2001; de

In addition to this holistic view of branding, a brand can be used as a corporate strategic tool to
enhance a firm s performance (Mosmans, 1996; Mosmans and van der
Vorst, 1998). Some argue that a brand can be placed as the focal point of a firm so that brand issues
can be coordinated and given higher priority (Capon et al., 2001; Urde,
1994, 1999). This approach of brand orientation extends the resource based theory of marketing
strategy, in terms of how brands are created, developed, maintained, and protected, and can result in
enhanced performance of firms. Broadening the brand spectrum means that branding goes beyond
marketing communications and should be regarded as an integrated business approach (Rubinstein,
1996). Firms must manage the various aspects of a brand and tie it to the total

created difficulty to land and operate tanks to back up the infantry. Additionally, the element of
darkness was lost. Before departing for Dieppe, The landing craft carrying the troops were meant to be
lined up behind gun boats. The landing craft for the Royal Canadian Regiment of Canada lined up
behind the wrong gun boat, which would have taken them to the wrong beach. The problem took

My Leadership Philosophy
With regards to leadership, my strength lies in my desire to help everyone. A leader has to put the
group first and make every decision with that principle in mind. When freshman approach me in the
hallway, eyes wide with terror and uncertainty, I stop and ask them what they need. If the track team
needs and extra runner for a race, even if I despise that race, I ll step up. My philosophy is to lead by
example, not by command. I ve found that simply telling people what to do is the most ineffective
way to actually get them to do it. For example, I am very passionate about track and want the track

strength, I started training months in advance. By making myself better, I encourage others to be better

knew any kind of happiness his whole life leading up to this rebellion. He was forced to work
unbelievable hours for his masters with no sympathy in return.It was a horrible system of slavery that
Nat Turner eagerly wished to overthrow. The slaves were treated like animals. Forced to work in
whatever climate and day that their masters saw fit. This means that they can use whatever
punishment that they saw fit. Some fellow slaves saw Turner as a spiritual leader. Many people

It was just like any other day. The cool, dry, air acted as a reminder that fall is just around the corner
and summer won t be around for long. Large crowds shuffled around non stop and their voices filled
