that examines the neurocognitive issues that influences a woman s decision return to abusive

implications of addictive behavior towards abusive situations in battered women due to
neurocognitive dysfunction. We hypothesized that battered women will present with decision making
impairment similar to persons with substance dependency and other addictions. Findings will shed

As I review my semester in Advanced Psychological Foundations of Education, I m aware of all the
tools I have collected over the past few months. Learning strategics, such as: social constructivism,
emotional competence and myths about dual language learners will now become part of my planning
resources as I prepare lesson plans for my students. During our three face to face sessions, there were
three topics that spoke to me as an teacher the most: classroom community agreements, moral
behavior and culture in the classroom. I would like to discuss how these themes have enhance

Classroom community agreements
Professional and personally, I will usually partake in an idea when, a theme states, agreement in the
title. I ve always appreciate ways of bring my students and I to a united front. The classroom
community agreement provided open communication, and is co created by the whole group to make

Consequentialism states that an action s morality can only be determined by its direct consequences to
you and everyone around you. I disagree with this. The best way to show why is to give an example.
Imagine a doctor in the middle of surgery. The patient they have on the table is bleeding out and the
chances to save them are 50 50. Now in the other operating rooms, there are 3 patients that need
immediate transplants to survive. Should the doctor attempt to save the patient s life or sacrifice one

On the timeline of organized work, the closer one gets to modern day, the more organized labor
becomes, and the more labor gets divided. It started with the three basic job groups, food, child care,

divided up by social classes. The rulers and nobility were the ones overseeing the work and directing
the economy, (Hannan, 2), while the priests held knowledge of writing, reading, math, and the more
scholarly subjects. Next down the line were clerks and scribes, (Kranzberg, 2), and then merchants
and traders underneath them who bought and sold goods. Then there were peasants, slaves, and lastly
prisoners of war who were forced to work. We can see some similarities of this ancient hierarchy in

Figure (1) shows that indicators of political risk have had noticeable changes especially after 25th of
January revolution except for government effectiveness and control of corruption indicators which
stayed at levels 0.5 and 0.33 respectively during the considered period. The following points
summarize the performance of political risks sub indicators as a response to political changes in
Egypt. An indicator with points near to 1 indicates a relatively very low risk indicator, while an
indicator with points near to 0 indicates a relatively very high risk indicator.
The most vulnerable and risky indicator of political risks sub indicators is voice and accountability
indicator, as points awarded to this indicator were always below 0.5 and hence it is always located in
very high risk zone. Prior to 25th of January (from 2006 to 2010), the indicator recorded 0.4 average

Daniel L. Everett s ethnography, Don t Sleep, There Are Snakes Life and Language in the Amazonian
Jungle, writes about experiences and life he faced during the time living among the Piraha. Everett, is
a linguist who s whole mission during his stay with the Piraha s was to not only learn their language,
but to convert them to Christianity. This however never happened, Everett actually ends up giving up
his faith for the name of science and language. His novel is a page turner, it make the reader to want to
keep reading it until the very end. The way Everett writes just draws people in, the way he chooses his
words and the structure of the sentences makes one feels like that they are with him.
Over the span of three decades, Everett and his family live with the Piraha for a total of seven years
learning their culture and language. What he found their really changed the idea of how we perceive
languages and the different theories behind them. The Pirahas, do not have a counting systems, or clan
system, nor a fixed terms of color or ritual, along with one of the smallest set phonemes in the world,
along with hum and whisper speech. They have no concepts of future or past ideologies, totally living
in the present and are relatively very happy people. One unfavorable aspect about this novel is that it
lacked the life of the women and children within the villages. Everett only really interacted with the
males of this society, whether there was any cultural boundaries that restricted him from interacting
with the woman is unknown, but it was something that caught my attention while reading.
The novel is spelt up into three parts: Life, Language, and Conclusion. Each one dedicated to a certain
part of the Pirahas culture. Part One: Life was very detailed on what events went on in the daily lives.
These people get very little sleep and Everett mentioned that it is very rare to have the village totally
quiet at night, one is always talking not caring if people next to them are sleeping. They start their day
very early, men would leave and go out hunting, while the women search of wild fruits and
vegetables. The Piraha people would only catch and gather what they needed for the day. It was also

months the year prior to entering kindergarten. Once parents of children who were still attending a
TOP preschool signed consent forms, the first cohort of children were chosen. The overall
