Mereka tidak pernah memperhatikan lingkungan sekitar mereka bekerja, tidak ada usaha untuk melestarikan lingkungan dengan cara memanam kembali pohon-pohon yang sedah ditebang, dan berusaha untuk tidak membuang limbah mereka kelingkungan seperti mendaur ulang sampah-sampah limbah mereka. Perekonomian sering diberikan prioritas dalam kebijakan dan masyarakat dan lingkungan diabaikan oleh industri ekstraktif. Dengan adanya IPTEK maka manusia berfikir bagaimana caraanya untuk memberikan kontribusi yang baik untuk lingkungan. Salah satunya adalah membuat limbah-limbah sampah pabrik menjadi bermanfaaf bagi lingkungan dan masyarat, serta sampah limbah tersebut menjadi bernilai ekonomis.

Environmental sustainability is an important component of a firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility. It relates to
firm practices that ensure the conservation of the environment and natural resources, such as water, land and air.
This research study aims to study the concept in relation to firm performance in Jordan. It proposes that
environmental sustainability practices of a company in Jordan’s manufacturing industry positively influence its
financial performance. For this purpose, the study assesses the relationship between environmental sustainability
score and the profitability ratios. Results reveal a significant positive impact of sustainability score on the ROA of
the companies. It is therefore recommended to manufacturing firms in Jordan to focus more on environmental CSR
and sustainability practices, which would result in improved efficiency and profitability.

The level of air pollution in Surabaya is high as a result of massive number of
vehicles on the street. Local government has executed several procedures to reduce
air pollution, but has a problem because of the resources available. Collaborative
governance can become the way to solve the lack of resources to tackle the problem of
air pollution.
Objective
This study aims to describe the process of collaborative governance in maintance
of air pollution in Surabaya City.
Method
This study uses qualitative descriptive. To determine the source of the data, this
study uses purposive and snowball technique. The data are collected using library
studies and conducting interviews. To test the validity of the data, researcher uses the
source triangulation technique. Data analysis in this study is conducted by reducing,
organizing data, and drawing conclusions.
Result
The result shows that the criteria of collaborative governance are not fully
executed because of the lack of involvement of other stakeholders in the
collaboration forum and insufficient financial resources.
Conclusion
Collaborative governance need to be maintained by both government and
stakeholders for the best result

and societies. To build a sustainable city, these challenges need to be faced efficiently and successfully. This paper focuses on the environmental issues and investigates the ecological approaches for planning sustainable cities through a comprehensive review of the relevant literature. The review focuses on several differing aspects of sustainable city formation. The paper provides insights on the interaction between the natural environment and human activities by identifying environmental effects resulting from this interaction; provides an introduction to the concept of sustainable urban development by underlining the important role of ecological planning in achieving sustainable cities; introduces the notion of urban ecosystems by establishing principles for the management of their sustainability; describes urban
ecosystem sustainability assessment by introducing a review of current assessment methods, and; offers an outline of indexing urban environmental sustainability. The paper concludes with a summary of the findings.

The anthropogenic impact of conventional energy sources encourages the utilization of renewable energy, as it
has become a strategic commodity for economic growth. On the other hand, institutional stability is the prerequisite
without which environmental quality cannot be assured and the economy cannot function. However,
in recent literature, very little consideration has been given to this important phenomenon. This study is set to
analyze the energy-institutional stability-economic growth nexus, as well as the energy-institutional stabilityenvironmental
quality nexus, by incorporating the Cobb Douglas production function and the Diet and Rosa
environmental function respectively. The sample consists of the D-8 countries and the time period spans 1990 to
2016. To analyze the developed models, Autoregressive Distributive Lag (ARDL), Fully Modified Ordinary Least
Square (FMOLS) and Dynamic Ordinary Least Square (DOLS) tests are applied, along with other econometric
techniques. The panel ARDL statistics indicate significant cointegration among all variables of both functions,
while the FMOLS test reveals that consumption of both nonrenewable and renewable energy has a positive
impact on economic growth, as well as on environmental degradation. Further, results indicate that institutional
stability is crucial for establishing a nation on a sound footing and protecting environmental quality. Based on
these results, the study suggests a blend of both types of energy and a gradual transition toward renewable
energy sources, with better implementation of policies and technological advances, to produce, preserve, and
transmit renewable energy production.

This paper focuses on stakeholder debate and conflict during policy implementation. In doing so it analyzed the reason behind the implementation snag of Bangladesh leather processing industry relocation policy, which is extreme stakeholder negotiation. Relevant stakeholders have been identified and their influence over the policy measure has been formulated. Underlying interactions among the stakeholders has been conceptually depicted to retrieve an image of the extreme stakeholder dispute behind this policy failure. Finally, based on the empirical evidence this policy measure has been evaluated in light of the effective participation of the concerned stakeholders.

Multi-level governance/hybrid governance and proliferation of actors in Environmental Governance can address the multi-scalar (spatially, socio-politically, and temporally) character of environmental problems (Lemos and Agrawal 2006; Ostrom 2010). On the other hand this proliferation or fragmentation can cause conflict among the actors and networks in terms of power balance and incentives (Siebenhüner 2003; Bulkeley 2005; McCormick 2011).
The multidimensional nature of climate change requires responses at multiple geographical and jurisdictional scales, levels of social and administrative organisation, and policy and resource sectors (Keskitalo 2010; Termeer et al. 2011). For this reason, multilevel governance – decision- and policy-making that involve multiple actors and take place across multiple jurisdictions and sectors – is critical for adaptation (Termeer et al. 2010). On the other hand multilevel governance, despite comprising a promising approach to cope with multi-scale and multi-sector issues, faces significant challenges in a climate adaptation context. One such challenge refers to the policy context in which it is implemented, which is very often complex and fragmented, and is characterised by a diversity of interacting climate and non-climate strategies (e.g., programs, plans, policies and legislation) (Termeer et al. 2011). Interaction between and among those strategies can create both synergetic and conflicting outcomes (Adger et al. 2005; Young 2006; K. Urwin and Jordan 2008).
This study will examines how climate change adaptation takes place in a complex multilevel governance system comprised by Coastal Areas of Bangladesh. It will map adaptation strategies (what are the existing adaptation policies and strategies?) and responsibilities (who has been developing/adopting such strategies?) at National, Divisional, District, Upazila (sub-disrict) and Union levels.
It will examines examples of adaptation strategies in terms of type of adaptation, its manifestation, purposefulness, drivers and triggers, and geographic and temporal scope. Interactions between strategies (how adaptation strategies relate to each other) will be investigated both at the same level of governance (horizontally) and across governance levels (vertically).
This will be the pioneer study regarding environmental governance in Bangladesh with a special focus on climate change adaptation. Moreover the insights and findings of this study can be used in other cross-cuting sctors (socio-economic) within the country.

The cities and towns of Bangladesh are growing largely in an unplanned manner. Planned spatial and socio-economic development is essential for living and environmental quality of spaces. To ensure such quality of space for better living environment planned growth of Bakerganj region can hardly be over emphasized. The project titled 'Preparation of Bakerganj Upazilla Master Plan' comprises a small area in the south east region of the country. The approach & methodology, and work task to be performed to accomplish the stated objectives and activities stated in the Terms of Reference (ToR) are presented in this section.
The current study investigates the impact of environmental sustainability government initiatives (ESGI), social platform influence (SPI), environment awareness (EA), and environment consciousness (EC) on green practices (GP). Data were collected using a self-administered survey targeting Gen Z consumers. A total of 354 responses were analyzed using the partial least square structural equational modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that SPI, EA, and EC have a significant positive impact on GP, while ESGI does not affect GP. The study also examines the mediating role of EC and EA in the adoption/implementation of green practices. Further, the moderating influence of gender was also found in the model. The study highlights the importance of SPI and its effect on the green practices of Gen Z, which will guide businesses and marketers in promoting their green initiative.

examined considering the employees in a Sri Lankan tiles manufacturing company. The main objective of the
study is to explore the impact of GA on employees’ GWB. Using simple random sampling, 81 employees were
selected as the sample and primary data were gathered using two self-developed instruments regarding to GA
and GWB. Univariate and bivariate analyses were conducted to analyze the data and the main finding of the

ABSTRACT : The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of organizational culture, environmental
leadership and green supply chain on company performance with a moderating variable using green innovation.
The financial reports and sustainability reports of companies listed on the IDX for 2020 and 2021 are the data
used in this study. The population used is companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) except for
the financial sector which publish financial reports and reports from 2020 and 2021. The Indonesia Stock
Exchange (IDX) website provides information for this study. There are 369 companies registered during the
study. After removing the outliers. For information, the total number of research samples is 227 samples that fit
the criteria. This lesson uses the purposive sampling method and the OLS analytic model. Significantly, this
study found that organizational culture has a large and negative impact on company and environmental
leadership has a large and negative impact on company performance, while green supply chain does not have a
significant impact on company performance. The moderating variable in this study shows that green innovation
strengthens environmental organizational culture on company performance, but green innovation is not able to
strengthen environmental leadership and green supply chain variables on company performance.

This study aimed to analyze the environmental and social risks in Bangladesh along with the attitude of
Bangladeshi people towards foreign products offered by multinational companies. Analyses were mostly
qualitative in nature. However, quantitative approach involving survey was used to explore the attitude of
people and to compare their attitude in respect of gender and age. A structured, close-ended questionnaire
having forty questions under eight variables (quality, price, promise, differentiation, trust and credibility,
self expressive benefits, foreign culture attraction and satisfaction and loyalty) measured on Likert scale
has been used. Convenience sampling method has been applied to collect data from 200 respondents. For
data analysis purposes descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA and internal
correlation have been applied. Reliability of instrument has been judged by applying cronbach’s alpha.
The study found that there are both positive and negative aspects in environmental and social components
of Bangladesh and the people of this country have an overall favorable attitude towards foreign products.

Transport Sustainability of Dhaka: A Measure of Ecological Footprint and Mean...Shahadat Hossain Shakil
Sustainable city with sustainable transportation system in now become the heartiest demand for burgher, especially in a city like Dhaka; where ecological imbalance lead to unbearable livable condition with unsustainable growth in every sector resulting the degradation of life quality. Transportation sector in Dhaka is one of the major adherents behind ecological deterioration by emitting enormous CO2 in atmosphere. Thus this study aimed at determining the transport footprint for vehicles travel in Dhaka. The study estimates the CO2 emission from motorized vehicles using average emission factor method and then determines the average bio-capacity of Dhaka city to compare it with the footprint. The study finds out that only for vehicles CO2 emission and physical transportation network; the transport footprint is seventy times larger than the bio-capacity. In transportation sector of Dhaka; ecological footprint credibly depicts the present condition, that is not at all sustainable from environmental friendly transport system context and it also an absolute indication for future concerning transport development pattern and their holes. At this point for developing sustainable transportation system considering ecological balance; Transport Demand Management (TDM), low carbon transport, transit oriented development (TOD), and creation of green corridors can be of some greatest tools for Dhaka.
Background: Ecological Footprint assessment helps to identify what activities are having the biggest impact on nature and opens up possibilities to reduce our impact and live within the means of ‘one planet’. It provides measurement of collective consumption of the population whether they are exceeding the earth’s ecological limits or not. The introduction of ecological footprint has been very necessary for the context of Bangladesh especially in Dhaka, where the unplanned consumption pattern of the population is producing a very unsustainable situation. Objective: This study intends to introduce this new concept through calculating the Ecological Footprint Account (usually 90% of it consists with Carbon Footprint/Emission Account) of the prestigious residential area Dhanmondi, which is one of the major resource consuming area of Dhaka city. Method: A blending of ‘component’ and ‘direct’ method has been used. Questionnaire survey (in 240 HH) has been conducted to gather information about the consumption pattern for different components (i.e. energy, food, service etc.) in the households for the year 2011. Biocapacity of Dhanmondi RA is also measured from the bioproductive lands available within the area. Following the generated results, sustainability analysis has been done. Results: An enormous gap between demand (1.19 global hectare/person) and supply (0.02 global hectare/person) of natural resources has been observed from the scrutiny. Conclusion: Natural gas consumption for domestic purpose has been found as the main motive behind the high footprint figure compared to the national average followed by Electricity, Food and Transportation. Biocapacity has been discovered as very petite amount because of unplanned urban agglomeration.

EIA as an environment management tool has been successful in terms of global awareness rising over the last four decades. Due to its rationalist approach it has been criticised about the inherent aim of influencing development decision and protecting the environment. Numerous researches have been performed to measure the ‘effectiveness of EIA’ which is still evolving as a domain. Four major criteria’s have been established till date. Effectiveness of Bangladesh EIA system has been explored with the help of those criteria’s. Procedural ineffectiveness seeks government measure in a couple areas mainly through institutional arrangement and capacity building. Substantive ineffectiveness reflects the global trend of failure to influence the development decision truly. Transactive effectiveness will be far reaching for a country like Bangladesh, depended on foreign aid largely. Normative effectiveness is still little known, but mass awareness about the environment through the debate regarding an ES report is a recent experience.
Does Distribution of Schools Matter in Human Development? - A Case Study of B...Shahadat Hossain Shakil
This paper investigates relationship between the distribution patterns of the schools and the human development index value of the respective study areas. In this study 50 upazilas have been selected out of 460 upazilas in Bangladesh. The distribution patterns of the primary and high school in each selected upazila have been analyzed through the “Nearest Neighbor Analysis” method. Then the value of Human Development Index (HDI) for each upazila has been determined. Finally a positive correlation between those two indices has been determined. This research can assist the policy makers to take proper decisions while selecting locations for schools keeping the broad view in mind which is development of that particular area.

In this study mountain range of Nyainqentanglha of Himalaya has been focused to assess which element played the vital role in this case. Altitude data of the catchments have been used as the primary key of analysis. Sustainable City Design: Developing Conceptual Planning Proposal for Eastern ...Shahadat Hossain Shakil
The Eastern fringe of Dhaka city is a low lying area along the bank of Balu River. According to DMDP, 32% of the total population of Dhaka city will be living there by 2020. This area is now facing scattered private housing development projects and rapid urbanization. So this paper aims at preparing a conceptual planning proposal for a planned sustainable urban environment. Objective of this study is planning a sustainable city environment for eastern fringe for projected population (2.6 million) of 2020 and conservation of retention pond areas. Before preparing the plan various town development plans were studied (Delhi Master Plan 2021, Navi Mumbai plan, Putrajaya town development plan etc). Then population for the year 2020 in the study area is projected. Afterwards land use distribution, road network design, zoning, detailed neighborhood design for different income groups etc is done. The study area is divided into four zones. A transit based transportation network is planned. Residential land use is the major land use in the study area. This site is planned as a poly-centric urban form with hierarchy of CBDs, adapted from Delhi Master Plan 2021. 15% area is conserved for retention ponds. A regional scale hospital, university, light industrial zone and waste treatment plant is planned. Agricultural lands and land for future expansion is also planned. Thus all the planning processes are applied to design a sustainable urban environment.

Diabetes is a rapidly and serious health problem in Pakistan. This chronic condition is associated with serious long-term complications, including higher risk of heart disease and stroke. Aggressive treatment of hypertension and hyperlipideamia can result in a substantial reduction in cardiovascular events in patients with diabetes 1. Consequently pharmacist-led diabetes cardiovascular risk (DCVR) clinics have been established in both primary and secondary care sites in NHS Lothian during the past five years. An audit of the pharmaceutical care delivery at the clinics was conducted in order to evaluate practice and to standardize the pharmacists’ documentation of outcomes. Pharmaceutical care issues (PCI) and patient details were collected both prospectively and retrospectively from three DCVR clinics. The PCI`s were categorized according to a triangularised system consisting of multiple categories. These were ‘checks’, ‘changes’ (‘change in drug therapy process’ and ‘change in drug therapy’), ‘drug therapy problems’ and ‘quality assurance descriptors’ (‘timer perspective’ and ‘degree of change’). A verified medication assessment tool (MAT) for patients with chronic cardiovascular disease was applied to the patients from one of the clinics. The tool was used to quantify PCI`s and pharmacist actions that were centered on implementing or enforcing clinical guideline standards. A database was developed to be used as an assessment tool and to standardize the documentation of achievement of outcomes. Feedback on the audit of the pharmaceutical care delivery and the database was received from the DCVR clinic pharmacist at a focus group meeting.

Since the World War-II there has been a revolution
of non-state actors (i.e. NGO, Community and
Market) for governing various socio-economic and
environmental problems in parallel with the
‘government’. This is because of shrinking state
capacity to address all the demands and neoliberal
ideas of privatization for better governance (Jordan
et al. 2003; Biermann and Pattberg 2008). In
environmental governance theory this shift has been
termed as ‘government’ to ‘governance’ (Newell et
al. 2012).
In the context of growing pollution from industries,
limited state capacity to provide sufficient services
and for multi-scalar problem like climate change; this
proliferation of actors/institutions at different scales
and partnership/interaction within them is being
crucial (Evans 2012). These actors are forming
networks within and across the scale and
amalgamating (Figure 1) for the sake of their own
interest and to achieve ‘environmental objective’ as a
whole (Agarwal and Lemos, 2006;2007)
Bangladesh as a developing country is facing
tremendous pollution from its growing industrial
sector. It will face the impact of climate change to the
highest degree in near future. Bangladesh is also
lagging behind largely in providing energy to its rural
areas within the face of competing demand from the
rising industrial sector as well as increasing demand
for irrigation in the agricultural sector.
Historically government of Bangladesh and other
civic organizations (NGOs) are working in
conjugation to cope with the natural disasters like
cyclone, flood etc. Government also partnered with
private sector to reduce the level of pollution from
industries (tannery) as well as to achieve countries
mitigation objectives (CDM). Private sector and
NGOs on the other hand are working together to
achieve more environmental sustainable image
(green business) and to fill the gap in service
provision (solar energy). Partnerships among these
actors happen due to address and complement state
or peoples limited capacity in terms of outreach or
resource and also to achieve their own interest while
prioritize environment and development. Considering
the model provided by the Agarwal and Lemos
(2007) as the theoretical basis, it has been
reproduced and modified for the context of
Bangladesh (Figure 2).

some common criteria to answer the question –
whether distinct form of partnership or integrated
governance is better solution to address the
environmental challenges in Bangladesh. Evaluation
criteria are still under research and will be finalized
through rigorous literature review of the following

political economy.

Studies regarding environmental governance in
Bangladesh are still its infancy. This study will shed
the light about the basic framework of partnership of
the institutional interactions. Through exploring three
prominent cases/projects this research will
investigate the suitable amalgamation among the
actors needed to address the multi-faced
environmental problems in Bangladesh.
