Statement of Purpose
This is OUR classroom— we are a
TEAM and our mission is to LEARN
together.
I will provide a positive, safe, and
inclusive learning environment.
Your role is to participate, respect
others, and do your best.
Expectations
(Our contract)
1. The Golden Rule Rules – treat others as you wish to
be treated, RESPECT others; Be Courteous
2. Be on time, in your seat, & ready to learn when the
bell rings (cell phones off and materials ready)
3. Follow instructions—ask if you don’t understand
4. Be honest – take responsibility for your work & hand it
in on time)
5. Participate in class discussions & projects—your
thoughts are important!

(Communications Box)
Place the following in the Communications Box:
1. Homework assignments
2. Any correspondence for me (notes, excuses, etc)

If your are tardy:
1. Get a late slip from the office
2. Quietly enter the room
3. Place the late slip in the Communications Box
4. Start work

(Morning Warm Up)
(The purpose of this exercise is to improve
communications skills and reinforce learning.)
When the bell rings, quietly answer the question on
the board pertaining to homework, the previous
class lesson, or subject-related news. I will direct
which of the following methods to use:
1. Journaling Method – 5 minutes to complete.
2. Summary Drill – 1 minute to complete.
Procedures/Routines
(Restroom Use)
You are expected to use the restroom prior to or after
class, but emergencies do occur. When this
happens:
1. Raise hand to obtain permission
2. Get hall pass
3. Move directly to the restroom
4. Quickly and quietly return to the classroom
5. Replace the hall pass
6. Resume work
Procedures/Routines
(Weekly Assessments)
(The purpose of this procedure is to provide
feedback in order to improve course content, the
learning environment, teacher performance, and
peer performance during group work.)
Once a week, the student completes the anonymous
class assessment form focusing comments on the
teacher-directed subject area. (Providing
feedback for other subject areas are optional for
that week.)
Crisis Plan
In the event of an emergency (i.e. medical, violent
behavior, etc):
1. Student nearest door goes next door to ask Ms X for
assistance
2. Student nearest intercom notifies office about the
emergency
3. Unless you are in danger, remain in your seats. If you are
in danger move quickly and quietly to the library or
designated assembly area.
4. Report any missing students to faculty or staff
5. When the crisis is over, return to your seats for
headcount

Consequences
(Negative)
Those students that choose to disregard their
promise and ignore OUR rules will be subject to
the following consequences to help modify
behavior:
 1st Offense: General Reminder/Warning
 2nd Offense: Individual/Warning & Private talk
 3rd Offense: Meeting & Detention
 4th Offense: Parent and Principal notified
