Intrinsic motivation
• Means individual’s motivation stimuli coming
from within.
• Your reasons are internal, they come from
within you, and you are not driven by other
people or by an end result or outcome.
• One for which there is no apparent reward
except itself. (Edward Deci, 1975).
• People seem to engage in the activities for their
own sake and not because they lead to an
extrinsic reward.
• Curiosity, acceptance, power results in
development of feeling of competence and self
determination.
• For example: The education that I am gaining is
for satisfying my self need
Extrinsic motivation
• Means individual’s motivation stimuli
coming from outside.
• Doing an activity to attain or avoid a
separate outcome. Chances are many of the
things you do each day are extrinsically
motivated.
• Carried out in anticipation of a reward from
outside and beyond the self
• Typical extrinsic rewards are money, prices,
grades, types of positive feedback.
• For example: If example if you secure good
marks in examination and get a job, then job
is your extrinsic motivation.
Ways to motivate students to learn about
technology applications
• 21st century is the era of digital tools, several paperless educational practices
are the burning issues.
• No man can stay for even a minute out of technology so, it is better to let our
students use them in their learning process.
• Extrinsic motivation has been used in teaching. It has been in practice from
gurukul period were students are rewarded with grades and points.
• Use of modern digital classroom tools can help increase intrinsic motivation
as students can learn broadly and generate several creativities (may be
lectures, several audio visuals).
• Modern tools and technologies like video clips, picture animations,
demonstrations and many more interactive tools can add variety and fun to
lessons and give students more active roles.
• Students who are adopted to modern technologies can develop global
citizenship, problem solving skills on themselves
• Students can learn school subjects on their own
• Students will prepare globally in which they will increasingly need to take
responsibility for motivation themselves and maintain high productivity in
less structured, more flexible workplaces.
• I motivate my students accessing them with technologies and guiding the
SMART use in my teaching learning practices. I access them with audio
visual aids (videos, ppt, related applications) in my classes.

  • 5. Intrinsic motivation • Means individual’s motivation stimuli coming from within. • Your reasons are internal, they come from within you, and you are not driven by other people or by an end result or outcome. • One for which there is no apparent reward except itself. (Edward Deci, 1975). • People seem to engage in the activities for their own sake and not because they lead to an extrinsic reward. • Curiosity, acceptance, power results in development of feeling of competence and self determination. • For example: The education that I am gaining is for satisfying my self need

  • 7. Extrinsic motivation • Means individual’s motivation stimuli coming from outside. • Doing an activity to attain or avoid a separate outcome. Chances are many of the things you do each day are extrinsically motivated. • Carried out in anticipation of a reward from outside and beyond the self • Typical extrinsic rewards are money, prices, grades, types of positive feedback. • For example: If example if you secure good marks in examination and get a job, then job is your extrinsic motivation.

Ways to motivate students to learn about technology applications • 21st century is the era of digital tools, several paperless educational practices are the burning issues. • No man can stay for even a minute out of technology so, it is better to let our students use them in their learning process. • Extrinsic motivation has been used in teaching. It has been in practice from gurukul period were students are rewarded with grades and points. • Use of modern digital classroom tools can help increase intrinsic motivation as students can learn broadly and generate several creativities (may be lectures, several audio visuals).
  • 10. • Modern tools and technologies like video clips, picture animations, demonstrations and many more interactive tools can add variety and fun to lessons and give students more active roles. • Students who are adopted to modern technologies can develop global citizenship, problem solving skills on themselves • Students can learn school subjects on their own • Students will prepare globally in which they will increasingly need to take responsibility for motivation themselves and maintain high productivity in less structured, more flexible workplaces. • I motivate my students accessing them with technologies and guiding the SMART use in my teaching learning practices. I access them with audio visual aids (videos, ppt, related applications) in my classes.
