Social media to enhance learning & teachingKeith Brown
This document discusses the Study Space app, an internal social media platform designed by students at the University of Bath to supplement their learning. It allows students to ask and answer questions, vote on lectures, and engage with each other and faculty in real-time. Feedback from students and faculty who have used the app has been positive, as it facilitates peer support and engagement outside of lectures. One MSc project is analyzing students' needs around mobile apps for academics. Preliminary findings suggest that while Moodle is used, it does not fulfill all needs, so students may be open to using an internal social media platform for learning purposes.

Learn Now is proposing to offer online learning courses using the Moodle learning management system. Moodle allows for a constructivist approach and social collaboration between students. It has many beneficial tools and is free and open source. Several institutions have switched from Blackboard to Moodle due to cost and functionality. While Moodle has some disadvantages compared to Blackboard, investing in Learn Now could help many learners by increasing access to education and allowing them to learn flexibly.
This document discusses using Twitter to integrate personal learning environments (PLEs) and formal learning management systems (LMS). It describes a computer science course that used Twitter (#asaifib) for students to comment on news and be evaluated. The teacher monitored tweets and provided feedback through the LMS. While not fully integrated, this allowed informal activities on Twitter to be considered formally. The experience showed that 2.0 tools can enrich institutional systems by valuing outside learning, but more qualitative research is needed on student and teacher perspectives.
The document outlines plans for academic professional development programs through collaboration between several SUNY organizations. It discusses the goals and target audiences, proposed competency-based certificate programs, content sources, potential attendees, and format/delivery options. A timeline is provided for the initial phase of programs to be offered starting in Fall 2011, focusing on topics like online teaching, instructional technology, and library services.
Glyndŵr University is upgrading their Moodle learning management system from version 1.9 to 2.2 and integrating it with their student information system (SITS) data. This will allow course sites to be automatically created based on student enrollment and improve tools like Turnitin integration. The upgrade is happening to support newer features, keep the system supported, and better meet student and staff needs. Communicating the changes, training staff, and addressing issues during the transition are priorities to help students and instructors. Lessons from the process emphasize the importance of communication, leadership support, and working closely with partners.
This document summarizes the journey of Dorset County Council's online learning portal over 5 years. It started as a place to store elearning modules with low usage, but it has now become an integral part of the organization's learning and development. Through collaboration with Learning Pool and refocusing efforts on learner experience and engagement, the portal was relaunched as Dorset Learning Online. It is now a total learning management system providing online resources, reporting, and performance management tools. While more improvements are planned, the council has learned that online learning requires leadership from learning and development professionals to guide learners' experiences.

Using a Microsoft Teams Group site to collaboratively support staff digital capabilities at the University of Brighton. The site aimed to share information, capture good practices, and answer questions to support flexible, inclusive, and multimodal digital learning. Over 330 members from various departments used the site, mostly asking questions about technology which led to broader pedagogical discussions. Analytics showed high engagement from July to November 2020 during remote teaching. The site successfully reduced pressures on technical support staff and hopes to collect case studies of good digital teaching practices. Evaluations will assess the site's role in fostering an online community of support.

How to Manage Reception Report in Odoo 17Celine George
A business may deal with both sales and purchases occasionally. They buy things from vendors and then sell them to their customers. Such dealings can be confusing at times. Because multiple clients may inquire about the same product at the same time, after purchasing those products, customers must be assigned to them. Odoo has a tool called Reception Report that can be used to complete this assignment. By enabling this, a reception report comes automatically after confirming a receipt, from which we can assign products to orders.

THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.
