2. Watch Out! My sister went to Ghana a few years ago and she came across and very evil baboon and she was with a group of people, but the bad news is that the monkey took their breakfast. So a bunch of bananas and bread, lets just say they were really hungry until lunch.

3. Other Monkeys! There are different types of monkey but have you heard of children sea monkeys, they are only called sea monkeys because they have a monkey like tail. There are all different yes of sea monkeys some even in watches. I am going to do an experiment with them you can see live action as well as me! This is how the sea monkeys made their name!

4. Types of monkeys! There are to many types of monkeys to do so I will pick the most interesting and you shall find out about those monkeys , I hope you lean lots but think about the names and see the funny pictures! ENJOY……

5. The Zoo! Where do I start the zoo was massive. We started by walking through the Gorilla Forest and that had: Gorillas, Tree Top Monkeys & Apes, Mandrills & Hippos. I got lots of pictures and movies and they will be posted soon. Next to the Africa (sort of) part in there we saw a massive elephant and the zoo keeper took a close up picture for us and that was really cool! there we also Bugs & Butterflies and there was heaps of them and it was really hot in there home! We saw : Tigers, Pelicans, Elephants, Birds, Orangutans and there was a show and they are really massive, Also their feet look like hands and their hands look like feet. I thought there was heaps and heaps of monkeys and they were really cool. This is only the monkey part though.

6. A Special Page! When we went to the zoo there was this photo place and you could take a picture with a monkey well I do mean it was photo shopped ENJOY!  HOW COOL

7. Apes! Apes are monkeys and they are big, scary and black! An ape is one of the tailless monkeys They are man like If I was to go to a tropical forest western and central Africa and Southeast Asia I would see an ape. Apes Swing from tree to tree If I were an ape I would sleep in a tree! Unfortunately they are endangered by the U.S. Department of the Interior. Some fossils for an ape was found about 36.6 million years ago!!!

8. Doc Langur! This monkey is a bit different. It is an Old World Monkey! This type of monkey belong to the Langur group. It was named after a large, forest monkey in Southeast Asia. It has short grey fur marked with red and white. They are about 10kg and a female about 8kg. Lives in forest in Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia. There isn't very much Info on the doc Monkey but I hope you got a couple of facts out of that.

9. Gorillas! Gorillas are really big in fact the biggest primate. The gorilla moves by walking on it knuckles. Gorillas are omnivores. Adult males range in height from 165-175 cm and in weighs about 140–200 kg ( Adult females are often an average of about 140 cm tall and 100 kg. Gorillas live in tropical forest. Mainly they like anywhere that has plants. Gorillas have 32 teeth - the same number as humans. Gorillas have large strong teeth .Gorillas have two full sets of teeth during their lifetime, similar to humans. The first set (like baby teeth) is lost and then replaced by their permanent set as adults.

10. Mandrills! Lives: Mandrills live in rain forests with little ground cover. They are found in Africa from Camaroon to Guinea. Looks Like: It is stout-bodied and has a short tail, prominent brow ridges, and small, close-set, sunken eyes. The adult male has bare, colored patches of skin on the face and buttocks: the cheeks are ribbed and bright blue to violet with reddish on the lump and end of the nose; and the bottom pads are pink to crimson, shading to bluish at the sides. The long body fur is olive to brown, and the small beard and the neck fur are yellow; the eyes are framed in black. Size: The adult male is about 90 cm (3 feet) long including the tail stub and weighs about 19.5 kg . The female, also with bare face and buttocks, is duller in color and considerably smaller. Eats: Mandrills are omnivorous. They eat small animals, including spiders, snails, worms, ants, and small ground vertebrates. They also eat grasses, herbs, shoots, bark, tubers, roots, and fruit. Males feed on the ground and females and young climb in to trees to eat. Mandrills retire to the trees at night to sleep. Other: Related drill, Mandrills but sometimes placed with the baboons. The female, also with bare face and buttocks, is duller in color and considerably smaller. The Mandrill is most afraid of the leopard

11. The Paper! This one contains a new baby girl monkey born on 25th of august. This money is a Vervet ( one I haven't heard of! ) the monkey troop leader - Luway gave birth to Kaygee. These types of monkey come from South Africa, since Luway is the most highest ranked monkey in the group means Kaygee will be too. Vervet monkey are tiny when they are born and only weigh about 200g! Soon Kaygee will start to move around and wont cling to her mother for ever, soon to start playing with other Vervets in the group, like 'King of the castle' . Kaygee bring the number of Vervet monkey up to 20 at the zoo.

12. The Paper Again! Just the other day mum was reading the paper and she showed me a picture of a monkey. ‘ Kids outsmart Chimps: Study‘ A new study has been shown that toddlers have better social skills than a chimp. Here is a copy of the article and you can really see all about it. he main out line of the article is about testing monkeys and 2 year olds, They are really metal skills they were trying to figure out like looking for 'rewards' and they were learning social learning skills, But the monkeys seem to be less coordinated then a 2 years old and left the monkeys in the dark. A simple example that they did was opening a tube with a cap on it, as both the 2 years old and the monkeys watched, the 2 year olds managed to do it but, the monkeys were trying to break it open. in the end it was 74% - 2 years old children & 33% to monkeys, over all 2 year old children are mainly smarter then monkeys.

13. Macaque Monkeys! There are 12 different species of Macaque monkeys! Found: They live in forests, plains, and among cliffs and rocky terrain and Asia. Looks Like: Their fur is normally a shade of brown or blackish and their muzzles, like baboons, are dog like but are rounded in a bear like nostrils on the upper surface. Size: The tail varies among different species and may be long. Size can be different between the male and female and among the species; males range in head and body length from about 41–70 centimeters and in weight from about 3.5–8.3 kilograms. Other: They breed all year around. Macaques can also swim and they also can hunt or live in large groups! Japanese macaques are also large, muscular, and shaggy-haired; they have pink faces and short, furry tails. Monkeys of this species were important in myths and folktales and provided the models for the Buddhist saying and its representation: “ see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.”

14. Movie Stars! Monkeys are consistently the bad guys, or silly guys in movies there are lots movie where someone is always trying to catch the monkey, or lock it up in a cadge this is a very popular thing to do in movies! Sometimes it is the story line and it is about a monkey, but in a movie 'Night At The Museum' it is the case where the monkey is always tricking the night guard.
