Giant pandas live in mountain forests between 3,600-10,500 feet in central China. They eat primarily bamboo and weigh between 90-115 kg. Giant pandas are endangered with only around 1,600 remaining in the wild due to loss of habitat and low birth rates. Conservation efforts aim to protect panda habitats, curb illegal hunting, and support breeding programs to increase the wild population.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

1. Giant Pandas
I’m endangered! Help me!
These are giant panda pictures.
2. Habitat
They live in central China
mountains between
3,600- 10,500 feet.
Because they have to eat
bamboo.
3. Physical description
They are black and white bears.
They have black fur on their ears, eye patches, muzzle , legs
and shoulders.
They have special thumbs for holding bamboo.
They have molar teeth for eating bamboo.
4. Size
Full- grown giant pandas weigh 90-115kg and
about 1. 5m long.
At birth, baby pandas name is cub and they
weigh 100-175g and are less than 15cm long.
Males weigh more than females.
5. Food
Their main food is bamboo.
Pandas eat other types of food.
For example apples, carrots, sweet
potatoes.
6. Life Cycle
Newborns are pink and
begin to show the typical
black and white coloring
after 2 weeks.
Cubs are blind, hairless,
and helpless.
Wild giant pandas live with
their mothers for the first
two years of their life.
They live 18- 20 years in
the wild and can live25-
30 years in captivity.
7. Life Style A wild panda spends much of
its day resting, feeding and
seeking food.
Unlike other bears, giant
pandas do not sleep during
winter.
They live alone.
They avoid other pandas,
except during breeding
seasons and while the
mothers are raising their
cubs.
8. Status They are listed
endangered in the
world.
There are about
1,600 pandas left
in the wild.
More than 300
pandas live in
zoos and
breeding centers
around the world,
mostly in China.
9. What type of environment do they
live in?
Giant Pandas live in
the mountain
ranges in Central
China’s Sichuan
Province. Most live
inside the slice of
South to North
bamboo forests.
2011/11/9 9
10. Why do they live in
this type of
environment?
It has a lot of vegetation and Bamboo trees.
2011/11/9 10
11. What type of home does the Giant
Panda live in?
They live in
hollow
trees or
out-of-the-
way
crevices.
2011/11/9 11
12. What does the Giant Panda eat?
• Bamboo is the main
food in it’s diet and
they also drink lots
and lots of water.
• They can eat 13-20kg
of Bamboo a day, and
because they eat so
much, they poop 100
times a day! WOW!!
2011/11/9 12
13. Where does it get its food?
• They get food from Bamboo forests.
• They are consumers because they eat
plants and can’t make their own
energy.
2011/11/9 13
14. Why are Giant Pandas endangered?
• Smaller Habitat
• Humans cut down the bamboo trees, and make farms and
villages.
• Humans have cut down their forest, which destroyed their home.
• Less Food
• They need bamboos every times, if they don’t they will die.
• Humans have cut down their forest, which took away their food.
• It takes a long time for bamboo to grow back.
• Dangerous hunters
• They are victims of hunters, getting caught by the hunting traps
such as dears.
• Low Birth Rate
• There are only 5 days to make “ One” Giant Panda baby in a year.
2011/11/9 14
15. What efforts are being taken to
save the Pandas?
• Set up Conservation Park for reproducing
Giant Panda, and take care for their
babies until they grow up.
• International cooperating to share
resources and experience to protect Giant
Pandas
2011/11/9 15
16. What efforts are being taken to
save the Pandas?
• They are doing a better job at patrolling
against people who are killing the pandas
and cutting down the bamboo forests.
• They are increasing the area of the Giant
Panda habitat and protecting it.
• Stop hunting by law.
2011/11/9 16
17. Why should we save the Giant Panda?
• The Giant Panda is better known and loved
species in the world and one of the strongest
symbols of nature conservation.
• By working together save the panda, we are
actually helping preserve plants, landscapes, other
animals that need to be there in order for the
pandas to survive.
• The panda’s habitat is also home for millions of
people.
• The Giant Pandas have a very important cultural
icon for Chinese people.
18. What efforts are being taken to
save the Pandas?
• They are
increasing
the area of
the Giant
Panda
habitat and
protecting it.
19. How can children protect
Giant Pandas?
Protect their habitat:
Human can protect them by
protecting their natural
habitat.
Most of their habitat is being
less so children can protect
them by giving hope with
Email China.
20. Donate to a Conservation
Group:
Is by donating money and
children can go to the zoo
many times and see the giant
pandas many times and love
them.
