Rebecca Bloomwood Research Paper
Throughout this journal, one can see that Rebecca Bloomwood can be characterized as outgoing and
ecstatic. Initially, Rebecca Bloomwood can be characterized as outgoing for a diversified amount of
explanations. First of all, she went on a trip with her boyfriend and had to go a few days without
clothes. She has decided to make outfits on the go. Some people may believe that she is outgoing
because this is not easy to pull off. In addition, Rebecca is not afraid to take risks. She went on a trip
with Luke in a days notice. Rebecca may feel like she is being a good girlfriend by going on trips with
her boyfriend in a short notice and that s why she is so outgoing. In the text it states, there re a bit
expensive but then, everyone knows you should never skimp on shoes, because you ll hurt your feet
(Kinsella 16). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thirdly, when Rebecca was at the wedding she told everyone that Luke was there when he was really
not. This shows she is creative and can come up with any excuse on the spot. Some people may think
she is lying due to her stories she makes up as well as some people may believe she is innovated. She
interacts with people well and can start a conversation with any person. She also puts herself out there
like talking to people she does not know at the wedding. On the other hand, Rebecca Bloomwood can
be characterized as ecstatic for an assorted number of reasons. The first reason is she came up with a
motto to go by. In the book it states, My new motto is buy only what you need. I know, it sounds
almost too simple but it really does work. Before each purchase, I ask myself one question: do I need
this? And only if the answer is yes do I make the purchase. Its all just a matter of self discipline . This
quote shows that she gives herself a goal in her shopping problem to stop spend so much. People can
tell she sets good goals on spending

Dr Milgram s Experiment On Obedience And Authority Figures
Pioneering Psychologist Stanley Milgram once said, Ordinary people, simply doing their jobs, and
without any particular hostility on their part, can become agents in a terrible destructive process.
Obedience is like a narcotic; under its influence, even a strong willed person can do horrible things to
others without a second thought. The only way a member of society submitting to powerful authority
can escape being obedient is to live completely isolated. Subjects usually follow the orders given by a
leader without a second thought, with many going the extra mile despite the mental and physical harm
they could cause others. In order to satisfy an authority figure, people are willing to hurt mentally,
abuse physically, or even murder others in cold blood because humans are born with the urge to
comply an authoritarian figure.
This behavior is well represented and tested in Professor Stanley Milgram s experiment on obedience
to authority figures conducted in 1961 to 1963 at Yale University. In this experiment Milgram got
several participants to be teachers and students. Then made the teachers to ask the students questions,
and shock the students every time they got an answer wrong. The shocks given to the the students got
stronger for each answer, and the maximum shock at 450 volts was deadly. The students were actually
just actors who acted as if they were getting shocks, but actually they did not get any shock. This
experiment was conducted to see how far the teachers were

The Double Complications Of Explorary Protocols
A minor critique concerning the model is the double representation of the total population size in the
set of explanatory variables, namely individually and included in the CINC measure. This
multicollinearity can lead to biased estimators of the dependent variable. A similar analysis is dealing
with the question whether the content of various human rights conventions and the costs associated
with their ratification will influence state s decision to join the treaty in the first place (Cole, 2005, p.
472) .On the one hand, associated costs are the costs occurring with harmonizing policies and
practices with the treaty provisions. On the other hand, there are the reputation costs occurring in the
case the terms of the treaty are violated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This holds true especially for new democracies as these often maintain some dubious human right
practices at the beginning of their transformation. Furthermore, a strong civil society, measured in its
citizens membership in international nongovernmental organizations (INGOs), has a negative effect
on the ratification of covenants with strong enforcement mechanisms. This follows logically from
INGOs role as monitors of human rights treaties and their thrive to hold to account the violators. If the
INGOs are more embedded within a country, it is easier for them to detect potential violations; this is
anticipated by the state and consequently the rate of ratification decreases (pp. 490, 491). Considering
the Clash of civilization approach, the analysis renders no support. Communist regimes were just as
likely as democracies to participate in both human rights treaties, namely the political and economic
rights covenants (p. 492). The question posed in the article s title, whether states relinquish their
sovereignty by joining such treaties, can be answered with no. Participation is voluntary. Therefore,
rational states will only sign treaties with which they would comply anyways and which do not
impose additional cost on them. Hence, further research should rather focus on potential legitimacy
costs arising from not signing such treaties (p. 492). Regarding the reputation costs resulting from
violating the treaties terms, literature does not reach consensus.

Carmichael s Theory Of Black Power
More than fifty years after two simple words black and power captured the nations attention, many
people still struggle with what to make of them. The concept of Black Power, despite being around for
decades, still elicits ambivalent reactions in different groups of people ranging from outright
fascination to heightened, emotionally charged memories or ideas. Oftentimes torn between
veneration and vilification of the public and private politics of Black Power adherents, much of the
middle ground is still to be conquered by great parts of the public and scholars alike. These disparate
views illustrate that after almost twenty years of revision, the new scholarship on the Black Power
phase of the African American Freedom Struggle has yet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Published in 2006, Peniel Joseph s first comprehensive account of the history of the Black Power
movement in the United States was written against a historiographical backdrop that paid little or
selective attention to the distinct ideological and activist roots of the Black Power advocates who rose
to influence in the late 1960s. Addressing a narrative that at best illustrated the young activists as
naïve and mislead, and at worst as criminal and self centered demagogues to be blamed for the
dissolution of the interracial civil rights coalition, Joseph centers his works around the emergence of a
rather apolitical Black Nationalism that turns its focus increasingly toward a more activist stance.
Concurrent with the evolution of Malcolm X, the politics of Black Power, Joseph argues, became
more and more politicized, culminating in separate parties, which, independently of the political
mainstream, pursued a politics of African American self determination. In contrast to those scholars
who consider the Black Power phase as part of the long civil rights movement, Joseph defines it as a
distinct form of radical African

Essay On Lucretia
The purpose of this assignment is to present a brief yet comprehensive formal analysis of the work in
question, namely, Joos van Cleve s Lucretia. The painting was completed ca. 1525 by the Flemish
artist most likely in Antwerp, where he was highly active from about 1511 until his death in 1540. The
painting is oil on panel (75.9 x 60.6 cm) and is exemplary of the early Baroque period. The work
depicts at the broadest level the suicide of the early Roman historical figure, Lucretia, following her
rape c. 510 BC by Sextus Tarquinius, son of the last Roman king. The incident bears historical
significance as it marks rising popular dissatisfaction of the Roman people with the monarchy, and the
transition from the Roman Kingdom to the Roman Republic, ... Show more content on

This image of Lucretia is not that of some mythological or religious origin, say, of a venus, for
example, part of whose appeal is the depiction of nudity without social repercussion. With respect to
the time which bore this painting, it is not unlikely that this inclination to experiment with the female
nude was in part sublimated by means of this historical subject matter, however, so say that Lucretia s
nudity is illustrated only on account of what would amount to the privilege of moral impunity is
perhaps too simple an explanation. It seems much more reasonable to posit that Lucretia s own nudity,
especially in conjunction with her opulent, indeed, what is surely very expensive clothing (other
depictions of Lucretia typically omit the inclusion of clothes altogether), is employed by Cleve to
highlight Lucretia s shame amid her wealth and regal lifestyle, her clothes have been cleaved open,
and she had been irrevocable hurt and humiliated. Whether intended by the artist, this awkward
parting of Lucretia s garments over her left shoulder and down through her abdomen adds greatly to
the desolation and pity associated with her historical figure. Ultimately, this compositional decision
serves to augment the paintings emotional

Swimming Monologue
I wake up barely dawn, when the early morning is still unpleasantly chilly and most of my peers are
comfortably cuddled in their blankets. I, on the other hand, will dive into the pool. My weary limbs
urging me to go back to bed, but my ambitious heart encouraging me to move forward. I keep going,
training, and racing for the next two and a half hour; everyday, until my arms are too tired to lift my
aching body out of the pool. Some days were easy. I had motivation and full of energy. Others, were
much more difficult and I had to improvise, adapt, and overcome.

room for improvement, but I am also motivated to push myself to the limits in the friendly competitive
setting. Getting to see and observe the competition allows me to see where I want to set my next goal
and where I could improve wherever it be technique or time. Walking up at 5:30 a.m. for six days a

last movie had action packed scenes, a possible romance, and a lot of sarcasm. Which left all Marvel
geeks wanting more from the talented cast. The movie hits theaters on May 5th, and some of your
favorite characters will return to the big screen. Maybe even some new ones. But what can fans expect
from the upcoming release? Of course, all of us want to see more of Gamora and Star Lord. Both
seemed to have a spark in the last movie. We are hoping the directors include some of this romance a

Research Paper On Macaw
The Green Winged Macaw, scientific name Ara Chloroptera, is also commonly known as the Maroon
Macaw or Red and Green Macaw. They are second only in size to the Hyacinth Macaw. The Green
Wing is often confused with the Scarlet because of all the red coloring but can easily be told apart by
looking at their backs. The Green Wing has a green band of color while the Scarlet has a yellow band
of color across its back.
The Green Wing is one of the most colorful Macaws, bright red is the dominant color while the
feathers near the body are dark red and turn green in the middle of the wing and the tips are lined in a
bluish color. The tail is also a dark red with bluish tips. Their feet are dark grey and the iris is a pale

Marx, Mill And Freud s Critique Of Political Economy And...
Describe and assess the explicit (and sometimes merely implicit) notions of freedom and unfreedom
we find in the texts we have read by Marx, Mill and Freud. Use the esoteric traditions we have
examined thus far (from the Book of Job to Plato) as a comparative yardstick, or point of reference,
but without letting them take over the foreground in your paper the latter should be reserved for these
three figures. Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud, and John Stuart Mill are three authors who tackle the topic
of freedom in unique ways, but their messages are fundamentally the same and continue the ideas that
we encountered in the esoteric texts as well as in The Matrix: . First, we have Karl Marx s Capital:
Critique of Political Economy and The Communist Manifesto, where we encounter the proletariat, or
the working class people regarded collectively. In these two texts, the latter of which was co authored
by Frederick Engels, we learn that the proletariat is enslaved just like the people in the matrix. And
just like the people in the matrix, the proletariat is oblivious to this limit on its freedom. That is why in
Karl Marx s view, unfreedom is what we are living in now. According to him, many people think that
abolishing private property through communism is what will infringe on our freedom, but that is not
the case. Specifically, in The Communist Manifesto Marx states, You are horrified at our intending to
do away with private property. But in your existing society, private

James Madison And The Creation Of The Constitution
Instances of inequality, especially in regard to citizenship and voting, trace back to the birth of the
American nation, specifically, to James Madison and the creation of the Constitution. In late 1786, a
Revolutionary War Veteran by the name of Daniel Shays, led an armed insurrection of improvised
farmers who marched on the United States Armory in Springfield, Massachusetts in an unsuccessful
attempt to seize weapons and overthrow the government. Colonial elites, horrified by the threat to
their wealth and power, sought to reform the government, concerned with protecting their own rights.
After Shays rebellion, it was clear that elites were the vulnerable minority. Compounding this rhetoric,
the primary architect of the constitution, James Madison, writes: Complaints are everywhere heard

Representation in the form of a republic; the best way to settle disputes between the people and the
elite, is by making the elite the representatives of the people passing them through the medium of a

even claimed that such an arrangement would render the public voice, pronounced by the
representatives of the people . . . more consonant to the public good than if pronounced by the people
themselves. Madison s fear of the general public, illuminates the intended audience for Federalist 10,
wealthy elites, being assured that their interests would be best served (and protected) with this
Republic form of government, instituted by the Constitution. Therefore, thanks to the Constitution, the

Western Christians In Global Missions Chapter Summary
Western Christians in global mission review
Western Christians in global missions by Paul Borthwick is about the interdependence and unity of the
global Church. The book starts at the conclusion of an era of missions where North America has taken
the helm. As the global missions community changes, North America needs to reassess its role. There
are 4 main integrated points that Borthwick makes that should change the perspective of the white
American middle class missionary. The greater part of evangelical Christians are no longer in North
America. The majority world has just as much if not more missionary activity than North America.
The North American Church needs to form partnerships not dictatorships. Finally, Borthwick weaves
throughout the book the idea that the North American Church has something to learn from the
majority world Church. Some estimate that 70 percent of the worlds bible believing Christians (as
opposed to nominal or cultural Christians) now live in the majority world. 1 This reality should
entirely changes the way we think about missions. If the greater part of Christians no longer live ...

Middle Passage Stage
The first stage of the Transatlantic Slave Trade was known as the Outward Passage . This is where
ships carried goods from Europe to trade in Africa for captured slaves. The Middle Passage was the
second stage of the Transatlantic Slave Trade. The last stage of the Transatlantic Slave Trade was the
Return Passage which is where ships returned back to Europe from the New World, usually carrying
cargo that consisted of sugar and tobacco they got in exchange for the slaves. The Middle Passage was
infamously known as the most cruel and inhumane way to ship slaves from Africa to the West Indies.
The enslaved people were packed onto ships, forced to lay next to each other shoulder to shoulder.

However, the measurements varied depending on the ship. Women and children were usually not
chained and remained unshackled. Men stayed in separate holding areas that were on opposite sides of
the ship. Although there was only such little space provided to the enslaved people, the captain and
crew boarded more than 600 slaves onto a ship at a time. Between the 16th and 20th century, 10 to 15
million enslaved Africans were forcibly shipped across the Atlantic.
The conditions were incredibly harsh on the Middle Passage . When the ships docked at port for rest,
there was always a chance that they could be attacked from enemies or pirates. They were even
sometimes attacked by native tribes if they did not like their arrival. If the ships were faced with bad
weather conditions, it would make the journey longer. Due to this the daily food rations the slaves had
twice a day would be reduced greatly which resulted in many of them getting sick or nearly starving to
death. These weather conditions affected both the crew and captain as well as the enslaved Africans,
but the conditions were much worse for the enslaved Africans as they also dealt with mental, physical,
and sexual abuse/assault from the captain and crew. These punishments were mainly due to rebellion
of the enslaved Africans. Due to the slaves outnumbering the crew, they thought the rebellion would
be successful. In spite of the punishments, the slaves often rebelled or

The Characteristics Of Grammar And Grammar In The Arabic...
PHONOLOGY AND SYLLABLE
The syllable and grammar for the second era are subject to be studied in commensuration with the
phonology of the Arabic language in a multi linguistic scenario of community. This is due to the fact
that most of the communications at the regional level are oral by nature. Thus, the features of grammar
and syllable cannot be ignored. It has been identified by Kahn (1976) that a mere hypothetical word
atkin is not used and identified in English but without a syllable. The arrangements of the letters
neither assumed later and former use of letters. But, there is a central place exists in few words; such
as, Caltex . Because of this, such types of words are not found easily in the English literature because
of the placement and arrangements of the letters in the word. The next matter of consideration is the
segmental phonology rules; assimilation, length, neutralization, affrication, use of consonant and
vowels. These rules are considered in alignment with the syllables of the word. A Syllable can use the
segmental phonology rules; thus, the element of pharyngealization is observed rather than the use of
other rules and practices. Moreover, the elements of rules are determined through the use of various
functions; hence, there is obstruent exist in English which are the factors talk about the placement of
the letter or the word. Lastly, the element of oral use and breaks of words is assumed as the innate
centrifugal phenomenon of Arabic language in

Deforestation Effects On Amazon Forest Resilience
Trees and any plantation for that matter are often taken for granted as they provide many of the
essentials such as photosynthesis regulation, habitat, food, and even save ground to build construction.
However, as more people demand more, more space will be needed and cutting away the trees for
humans to use. Deforestation is the act of cutting and clearing a large area of trees. It is the cause of
extreme damage to the ecosystem and sustainability of life. Deforestation is negatively affecting the
interaction between the water cycle, soil sustainability, and trees stability.

2017). Deforestation also indirectly affects the water cycle by disturbing the atmospheric circulation
patterns. As evapotranspiration occurs in the water cycle from the forests, the water rises up to the
atmosphere and the wind moves the rain. So when trees are cleared, the cycle of losing natural
resources continues as fewer trees lead to less water to evaporation in the water cycle which decreases
the precipitation the Amazonian forest need. This finally leads to more death of trees and the
ecosystem within the forest. Zemp et al. s result on forest resilience in their simulation supports that
the Amazon s forest survival also decrease as there is an overlap in Zemp et al. s statement when they

related to romanticism, tells an intriguing story of the unintelligent good hearted Forrest, which
embarks in a journey full of surprises and historical moments with an air of innocence. Forrest Gump
embodies many romantic themes in its plot, such as the irrationality in human nature, the aphorism
Carpe Diem , and value of innocence. Forrest Gump not only embraces different themes important to
Romanticism, but also valuable themes significant to life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Forrest, the main character, is the representative figure of this theme, as he demonstrates that
everything he accomplishes is irrational, without any reason involved in his actions. Forrest, being the
absolute romantic hero in the plot, demonstrates that the human is not essentially reasonable and
rational. By his own irrational acts, Gump is awarded with many values in his life, and executes many
of his actions without any critical thinking involved. A great example of this idea is shown when
Forrest in quietly sitting in his porch and decides to go for a small run. Instead of going on a little run,
Forrest resolves that he will keep running for no reason, and that if he could run to the end of the
town, then he could run to the end of the county, then run to the ocean, then run across the country.
This example demonstrates how Forrest is not the smartest and brightest person, but he has a different
feeling for things. Although not always having a logical reason for his actions, if he feels that he has to
execute something, he must do it as long as he feels that he has to do it. Forrest actions, in the
contrary, instead of putting him in unfortunate situations, it always rewards him with the best of life.
Gump has an intuitive, deep understanding of life, as everything he is confronted with, he must stop
and deeply understand each experience. Human nature is irrational, and Forrest is the

The Major Causes Of The Nigerian Civil War
Nigeria, a country known around the world as the most hardworking place in Africa, has steadily been
on the rise. Like any other country, Nigeria has faced problems within its history that has contributed
to the challenges the country faces today. One of the the most notable events within its history is the
civil war that occurred from 1967 to 1970. This war was caused by a variety of reasons, but the main
factor that brought on the onset of the war was cultural tensions. The Nigerian Civil War can be
characterized by a clash of cultures vying for control of the country.
To understand the events that led up to war, you have to understand the colonial history of Nigeria that
contributed to its sectional tensions. Nigeria was carved out of the west of Africa by Britain without
regard for preexisting ethnic, cultural and linguistic divisions. The British combined two separate
provinces to form a single colony that forced over two hundred ethnic and groups to become a single
nation. At the advent of Nigerian independence on 1 October 1960, when Great Britain gave up
colonial power over Nigeria, three regions based on ethnic groupings were created to comprise the
independent nation of Nigeria. Following decades of ethnic tension in colonial Nigeria, political
instability reached a critical mass among independent Nigeria s three dominant ethnic groups: the
Hausa Fulani in the north, Yoruba in the southwest, and Igbo in the southeast. Each ethnic group
vowed for control of the country after independence leading to a series of coup and assassination
attempts.
The measures each ethnic group took to control power resulted in one of the worst atrocities that
divided the country: the Igbo genocide. Different ethnic groups took punitive measures against the
Igbo. Further anger over the murder of prominent Hausa politicians led to the massacre of scattered
Igbo populations in northern Hausa Fulani regions. This persecution triggered the move by Igbo
separatists to form their own nation of Biafra the following year.
The consequences of the war included starvation, mass death, and displacement of Igbos. With the
Nigerian blockade cutting off the Biafrans from their expected source of oil revenue, the Biafrans
suffered

Opium War Dbq Essay
The Opium War was a major part of China s history. There were many economic issues, (the high cost
of importing opium), political issues (disobedience of Chinese ban on opium imports) and
consequences of the British victory (Britain s greater power over China) that precipitated the Opium
war, but the British victory had the greatest impact on China because the extension of British power
reduced China s autonomy and made them more dependent on Europe. The high cost of importing
opium had major consequences that weakened the Chinese economy and was a leading cause for the
Opium War. Document A is a record of the British Imports and Exports at the Port of Canton. The
average price of imported opium was ten times greater than that of Cotton Yarn, the second highest
average price import. The combined total value of imported opium alone was over 16 million Spanish
dollars, while the total value of exported items was less than 23 million ... Show more content on

Documen F is a collection of excerpts from the Treaty of Nanking, which is the document that ended
the first Opium War. This document contains various benefits for the British such as the ceding of
Hong Kong and the payment of six million dollars for the deaths of British soldiers during the war.
This document expresses the actions of the British to extend further control over China by acquiring
from them a major port and a significant sum of money. The Treaty of Nanking is one of many
unequal treaties that the British employed to provide favorable conditions for themselves. Document
G is written by Feng Kuei Fen and articulates his discontent of British power over China. He finds it
shameful that after the British victory, China had been unable to remove its dependence on Western
information. By stating that the Chinese people are unable to compete with European innovations, he
is justifying Britain s power over

Alcoholism and Angela s Ashes
Alcoholism and Angela s Ashes
Alcoholism is one of the most common disorders in the world today. It is a disease, a sickness that
harms the body and the mind in the most violent ways possible. The body is racked by a need to
suffice its desire, and this leads addicts to do anything to get the alcohol into their systems. In Angela s
Ashes, alcoholism is a major theme, and becomes the destroyer of the families and loved ones that are
involved.
In Angela s Ashes, the father Malachy is inflicted with the disease of alcoholism, and his need for the
drink leads him to use his paycheck to buy alcohol instead of using it for the basic needs of his family.
Countless times, Malachy s alcoholism harms or gets in the way of his family. Not ... Show more

Alcoholism is truly crippling, and he does a great job in getting this across. And in some ways,
Malachy s alcoholism helped his children—by showing them the tragic consequences of choosing a
life for the drink. From his mistakes, he children can learn and avoid alcohol.
Alcoholism is a demon, a disease, something reached for out of desperation. It helps with a person s
problem by deadening their senses, and increasing his problems at the same time by destroying his
character. When you drink, you don t have to think about all your problems, you can just let the
alcohol wash them away from your mind. But it can never take away all your problems—they still
remain, just your sense to care for them is gone. Alcoholism has a great chance to pass on to later
generations, but sometimes growing up in an alcoholic family will make the children swear off the
drink because they have seen what it can turn people into. It turns them into the basic raw human
emotion of grief. They are miserable for alcohol is the only thing that can make them feel normal after
awhile, their entire bodies ache for it. Even when they have given up drinking, their bodies can revert
back after having just one drop again. Yes, alcoholism is truly a terrifying disease of the mind and
body—not just to the addict, but also to the loved ones

Catalysts In Elizabethan War
Conflicting Countries Catalysts in Elizabethan War In the movie The Martian, Mark Watney creates
water on Mars using a chemical reaction. Watney s oxygenator creates oxygen from carbon dioxide
and his Mars vehicle contains unused hydrogen gas. He uses this to his advantage, taking both the
oxygen gas and the hydrogen gas and putting it in one room, requiring only one more step to complete
the process. All he needs now is the catalyst, something that speeds up the rate of a reaction, to initiate
and speed up the reaction of both these gases. He ignites the gases in a closed environment and as it
begins to heat up, water droplets are slowly created. Watney uses fire as a catalyst to speed up the
reaction as catalysts sped up the conflict between England in Spain in the Elizabethan era. Many

A major catalyst of conflict from England was the fact that England was Protestant at the time.
England became Protestant under Elizabeth I, so the Catholics in Spain saw the war as a religious
crusade (Elizabethan). The Protestant Elizabeth I of England, whom the Catholic Church did not
recognise as the rightful English monarch, had antagonised Catholics by making the Church of
England the official church in the Kingdom when she became Queen of England (Anglo Spanish).
King Philip II of Spain did not accept this as he was very devoted to his religion of Catholicism. It is
said that the only time he laughed was when thousands of Protestant Christians were injured and killed
in France on the St. Bartholomew s Day massacre (Kilkenny). King Philip even tried to propose to
Queen Elizabeth of England hoping that if they married, she would renounce the Protestant religion to
become a Catholic. However, both the people of Spain and England opposed this and Elizabeth
declined (Adams). England becoming Protestant is unquestionably a catalyst of war between England

The Struggle of the Asian Powers During the Age of Imperialism , which lasted through the entire
nineteenth century, most countries/ areas outside of North America and Europe struggled to adjust
industry based economies. Asian countries were left with a dilemma: industrialize quickly or become
subjects of western powers. Although some Asian countries were conquered many of them become
world powers by the twentieth century.
Japan s goal during the nineteenth century was to catch up to match the strength of Europe. By
beginning their transformation, the Japanese adopted a new form of government. Feudalism became
insufficient so Japan formed a government that utilized a written constitution. This new government
allowed the establishment of modern military forces. Western technology was integrated which
allowed Japan to revamp their economy from an agriculture based to an industrialized machine in less
than fifty years. By the end of the Meiji Restoration, Japan no had no more fears of being
imperialized. Instead, they set out to practice imperialism themselves. From 1894 to 1895 Japan
fought China in the Sino Japanese War and forced China to agree to terrible terms. At the turn of the
century Japan was ready to become a world power. When Russia came into conflict with the Japanese

Chinese Immigrants To Canada
During the early 20th century, Asian immigrants who came to Canada faced a great deal of backlash
from Canadian society. Among these men and women who came overseas, the Chinese suffered the
brunt of the racial discrimination that ran rampant in Canada, and were treated distinguishably worse
than any other group of immigrants. Although many other immigrants were met with prejudice and
racial stereotyping on arrival, there was no other group that experienced the same level of organized
racism as Chinese immigrants did. Discriminatory acts were not only conducted on a communal and
societal level, but also found its way into Canadian politics. What resulted from this was a national
effort to limit the Chinese from both entering Canada as well ... Show more content on

Chinese immigrants were not only denounced for their negative impact on Canada s economy, but as a
greater threat towards Canada s culture. As such, many community leaders, labour organization
leaders and even government officials called for exclusionary measures against Chinese immigrants,
ranging from stripping them of their ability to organize to implementing harsh limitations on
immigration and business conduct. It was assumed by labour leaders that Asian workers were
impossible to organize, and therefore felt they had no choice but to demand exclusionary policies,
regardless of the Asian involvement in labour militancy which closely aligned with the goals of
Canadian labour unions (Goutor, 2007, 554). At the time, many other policies were also enacted to
severely limit the already scarce amount of freedom that Chinese immigrants had, one of which was
the Act to Prevent the Employment of Female Labour in Certain Capacities which was a statute that
made it a criminal offense for Chinese men to employ white women (Backhouse, 1996, 315). The act
was put into motion by the propaganda fed fear of Chinese men, who were regularly portrayed as
sexual predators [that] sought to take advantage of white women (Goutor, 2007, 556). The Chinese
Immigration Act came into effect in 1923,

employer having trouble finding good employees. This is until the employer hires Bartleby. At first,
Bartleby works hard and does his job so well that everyone has a hard time imagining what it would

significant because it shows that he still uses polite wording even though he has given up living. He
courteously refuses to eat and chooses to live for as long as he prefers to live and curls up against one
of the prison walls. This refusal, even in the face of death, shows an almost courageous side of

Social Reformers Support Prohibition
The eighteenth amendment established prohibition, which was the banning of the manufacturing and
sale of alcohol. Interestingly, prohibition caused many different and unintended consequences for
America. When the eighteenth amendment was established, many people supported prohibition
because of the social benefits. The Church supported prohibition because many Christians saw
drinking as a sin. Many business men supported prohibition, because this would reduce the amount of
absences at work and would increase production and efficiency. Furthermore, many social reformers
supported prohibition, since it would benefit the family unit. Since fathers would not be drinking, this
would allow more money to be spent on necessities, and would reduce

Essay Comparing Gilgamesh And The Flood
Throughout the readings of both The Flood from the Epic of Gilgamesh and excerpts from Genesis
6:5 9:17: The Flood , one has noticed numerous similarities that connect the two articles. Before one
has read the articles, one notices that both readings were written a long time ago in the B.C. era. Both
the readings talk about a God or multiple gods creating a flood because the humans expressed
wickedness. The purpose of the flood was to wipe out mankind. The two readings ask for a man to
build a massive ark/boat. Both the boats were sealed with pitch. Both stories talk about the God/gods
telling the man what dimensions the boat shall be built with. The man in both readings brought all

Once on the mountain, the man send birds to find dry land and see if the flood has come to an end. In
both readings, one of the birds the man sends out does not return to the ark/boat. The man in both

readings express that the God/gods promise not to destroy humankind again. One believes that it is
possible that the author of Genesis had some knowledge of the Epic of Gilgamesh because the
readings correlate together so well. The Epic of Gilgamesh originated before Genesis and shares great
detail between both stories. Both of the readings talk about the same event on our planet. Both Genesis
and the Epic of Gilgamesh documented this event at the same time and are expressing/sharing it in a
way they both understand. One of these accounts may have been altered by a mix up in oral tradition.
It would be too much of a coincidence if Genesis took information from Epic of Gilgamesh because
Genesis has more detail compared to the other reading. Genesis must have witnessed the event and
wrote it down in the perspective the author saw it in.The readings both parallel each other very

Many times people are asked to think about what is important to them. A person may say their home,
car, children, material items and some may even say family. In the book Little Women (1868 1869)
written by Louisa May Alcott illustrates several family values. The story of the March family starts
out during the civil war in New England. The family is left to survive on their own because their
father went to protect his country. During the years of life the March children, Margaret (Meg),

Rich or poor, we will keep together and be happy in one another (43). So when the March s had a way
to get money they refused because family is important. They knew that family was far more important
than riches. Many times during the young girls life several lessons were taught. Meg and Jo were
several years older then both Beth and Amy and when it came time for the two to do grown up things
and Amy was not allowed to do so, she got angry and told Jo that she would be sorry for leaving her
out. As Jo enjoyed the theater Amy burned her manuscript, for Jo loved to write and had several
stories written in a book which she called her manuscript. Upon returning Jo discovered that her joy
was destroyed and felt she could never forgive Amy for what she had done. Once again Marmee being
wise in her years told Jo, don t let the sun go down upon your anger; forgive each other, help each
other, and begin tomorrow (88). With this advice it helped Jo forgive Amy and helped her though out
the rest of her life when she was known to be very short tempered. With this advice family forgets all
wrongs and helps each other on the road of life. Not only Marmee contributes to the family in her own
subtle way. The children taught their own lessons to the family as time goes on. At the beginning of
the story the children are talking about Christmas and realizing that there won t be any presents that

Arguments On Inequality In Society
Division has been human nature since time immemorial. The clash of different groups based purely on
their difference has been part of our nature since the days of the Sumerians. This conflict has always
been an issue in society, plaguing nations and dividing communities. However, with modern
innovation, many believe that we have overcome inequality, citing the rise of new arguments for
equality and a more conciliatory outlook arising from activists. There is another faction, however, that
argues that inequality is part of human nature and has been and will be around for the entire existence
of the human race, due to its intrinsic nature and the subtle restrictions of freedoms that plague this
nation.
This latter argument finds support in the rhetoric and actions of both antiquity and the present.
Frederick Douglass in a speech about modern civil liberties mentioned the Babylonian captivity, in
which the captured Jews sat and... Wept for Zion a symbol of the oppression humans have experienced

those unlike them since times before Jesus; this is invariable human nature, and with time all society
reverts back to it. The Babylonians mistreated the Jews thousands of years ago because of their race.

Jewish peoples in the media. This and similar struggles in our nation cannot be considered

Teaching At A Community Special School Essay
Teaching in the hospital provides learning at a community special school or a foundation school
located within a hospital under special arrangement by section nineteen of the education act (DFE,
2015). The aim of hospital teaching is to provide education to those pupils who are deemed by
medical practitioners to require this type of teaching due to health needs. (DFE, 2013)
Teaching in the hospital school contains many members of staff including trained teachers, Higher
Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) and Learning mentors all working together in the learning zone. If
a child is well enough to attend the learning zone they can for a group session within the afternoon. If
a child is isolated the child will receive appropriate education at their bedside. Children who spend
longer than five days within hospital will receive education on day five of their stay, if a child is a
recurrent patient they will receive education on day one (East SILC, 2016). The hospital school works
with the child s primary school once a referral is completed. Teachers and other members of staff work
with the information given to them and focus on aspects of the national curriculum and most
importantly what work the child would be completing if they were able to attend school.
Aims
The aims of this reflective report are to demonstrate the difference in teaching and learning for pupils
within this setting. Also understand the impact one to one support has on a child. Finally to gain

  • 2. Rebecca Bloomwood Research Paper Throughout this journal, one can see that Rebecca Bloomwood can be characterized as outgoing and ecstatic. Initially, Rebecca Bloomwood can be characterized as outgoing for a diversified amount of explanations. First of all, she went on a trip with her boyfriend and had to go a few days without clothes. She has decided to make outfits on the go. Some people may believe that she is outgoing because this is not easy to pull off. In addition, Rebecca is not afraid to take risks. She went on a trip with Luke in a days notice. Rebecca may feel like she is being a good girlfriend by going on trips with her boyfriend in a short notice and that s why she is so outgoing. In the text it states, there re a bit expensive but then, everyone knows you should never skimp on shoes, because you ll hurt your feet (Kinsella 16). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thirdly, when Rebecca was at the wedding she told everyone that Luke was there when he was really not. This shows she is creative and can come up with any excuse on the spot. Some people may think she is lying due to her stories she makes up as well as some people may believe she is innovated. She interacts with people well and can start a conversation with any person. She also puts herself out there like talking to people she does not know at the wedding. On the other hand, Rebecca Bloomwood can be characterized as ecstatic for an assorted number of reasons. The first reason is she came up with a motto to go by. In the book it states, My new motto is buy only what you need. I know, it sounds almost too simple but it really does work. Before each purchase, I ask myself one question: do I need this? And only if the answer is yes do I make the purchase. Its all just a matter of self discipline . This quote shows that she gives herself a goal in her shopping problem to stop spend so much. People can tell she sets good goals on spending ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Dr Milgram s Experiment On Obedience And Authority Figures Pioneering Psychologist Stanley Milgram once said, Ordinary people, simply doing their jobs, and without any particular hostility on their part, can become agents in a terrible destructive process. Obedience is like a narcotic; under its influence, even a strong willed person can do horrible things to others without a second thought. The only way a member of society submitting to powerful authority can escape being obedient is to live completely isolated. Subjects usually follow the orders given by a leader without a second thought, with many going the extra mile despite the mental and physical harm they could cause others. In order to satisfy an authority figure, people are willing to hurt mentally, abuse physically, or even murder others in cold blood because humans are born with the urge to comply an authoritarian figure. This behavior is well represented and tested in Professor Stanley Milgram s experiment on obedience to authority figures conducted in 1961 to 1963 at Yale University. In this experiment Milgram got several participants to be teachers and students. Then made the teachers to ask the students questions, and shock the students every time they got an answer wrong. The shocks given to the the students got stronger for each answer, and the maximum shock at 450 volts was deadly. The students were actually just actors who acted as if they were getting shocks, but actually they did not get any shock. This experiment was conducted to see how far the teachers were ... • 4. The Double Complications Of Explorary Protocols A minor critique concerning the model is the double representation of the total population size in the set of explanatory variables, namely individually and included in the CINC measure. This multicollinearity can lead to biased estimators of the dependent variable. A similar analysis is dealing with the question whether the content of various human rights conventions and the costs associated with their ratification will influence state s decision to join the treaty in the first place (Cole, 2005, p. 472) .On the one hand, associated costs are the costs occurring with harmonizing policies and practices with the treaty provisions. On the other hand, there are the reputation costs occurring in the case the terms of the treaty are violated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This holds true especially for new democracies as these often maintain some dubious human right practices at the beginning of their transformation. Furthermore, a strong civil society, measured in its citizens membership in international nongovernmental organizations (INGOs), has a negative effect on the ratification of covenants with strong enforcement mechanisms. This follows logically from INGOs role as monitors of human rights treaties and their thrive to hold to account the violators. If the INGOs are more embedded within a country, it is easier for them to detect potential violations; this is anticipated by the state and consequently the rate of ratification decreases (pp. 490, 491). Considering the Clash of civilization approach, the analysis renders no support. Communist regimes were just as likely as democracies to participate in both human rights treaties, namely the political and economic rights covenants (p. 492). The question posed in the article s title, whether states relinquish their sovereignty by joining such treaties, can be answered with no. Participation is voluntary. Therefore, rational states will only sign treaties with which they would comply anyways and which do not impose additional cost on them. Hence, further research should rather focus on potential legitimacy costs arising from not signing such treaties (p. 492). Regarding the reputation costs resulting from violating the treaties terms, literature does not reach consensus. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Carmichael s Theory Of Black Power More than fifty years after two simple words black and power captured the nations attention, many people still struggle with what to make of them. The concept of Black Power, despite being around for decades, still elicits ambivalent reactions in different groups of people ranging from outright fascination to heightened, emotionally charged memories or ideas. Oftentimes torn between veneration and vilification of the public and private politics of Black Power adherents, much of the middle ground is still to be conquered by great parts of the public and scholars alike. These disparate views illustrate that after almost twenty years of revision, the new scholarship on the Black Power phase of the African American Freedom Struggle has yet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Published in 2006, Peniel Joseph s first comprehensive account of the history of the Black Power movement in the United States was written against a historiographical backdrop that paid little or selective attention to the distinct ideological and activist roots of the Black Power advocates who rose to influence in the late 1960s. Addressing a narrative that at best illustrated the young activists as naïve and mislead, and at worst as criminal and self centered demagogues to be blamed for the dissolution of the interracial civil rights coalition, Joseph centers his works around the emergence of a rather apolitical Black Nationalism that turns its focus increasingly toward a more activist stance. Concurrent with the evolution of Malcolm X, the politics of Black Power, Joseph argues, became more and more politicized, culminating in separate parties, which, independently of the political mainstream, pursued a politics of African American self determination. In contrast to those scholars who consider the Black Power phase as part of the long civil rights movement, Joseph defines it as a distinct form of radical African ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay On Lucretia The purpose of this assignment is to present a brief yet comprehensive formal analysis of the work in question, namely, Joos van Cleve s Lucretia. The painting was completed ca. 1525 by the Flemish artist most likely in Antwerp, where he was highly active from about 1511 until his death in 1540. The painting is oil on panel (75.9 x 60.6 cm) and is exemplary of the early Baroque period. The work depicts at the broadest level the suicide of the early Roman historical figure, Lucretia, following her rape c. 510 BC by Sextus Tarquinius, son of the last Roman king. The incident bears historical significance as it marks rising popular dissatisfaction of the Roman people with the monarchy, and the transition from the Roman Kingdom to the Roman Republic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This image of Lucretia is not that of some mythological or religious origin, say, of a venus, for example, part of whose appeal is the depiction of nudity without social repercussion. With respect to the time which bore this painting, it is not unlikely that this inclination to experiment with the female nude was in part sublimated by means of this historical subject matter, however, so say that Lucretia s nudity is illustrated only on account of what would amount to the privilege of moral impunity is perhaps too simple an explanation. It seems much more reasonable to posit that Lucretia s own nudity, especially in conjunction with her opulent, indeed, what is surely very expensive clothing (other depictions of Lucretia typically omit the inclusion of clothes altogether), is employed by Cleve to highlight Lucretia s shame amid her wealth and regal lifestyle, her clothes have been cleaved open, and she had been irrevocable hurt and humiliated. Whether intended by the artist, this awkward parting of Lucretia s garments over her left shoulder and down through her abdomen adds greatly to the desolation and pity associated with her historical figure. Ultimately, this compositional decision serves to augment the paintings emotional ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Swimming Monologue I wake up barely dawn, when the early morning is still unpleasantly chilly and most of my peers are comfortably cuddled in their blankets. I, on the other hand, will dive into the pool. My weary limbs urging me to go back to bed, but my ambitious heart encouraging me to move forward. I keep going, training, and racing for the next two and a half hour; everyday, until my arms are too tired to lift my aching body out of the pool. Some days were easy. I had motivation and full of energy. Others, were much more difficult and I had to improvise, adapt, and overcome. Swimming is an integral part of my life between training at swim practice, lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons, I rarely spend any time on land. Swimming for the Allen High School; Varsity Team has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It has taught me the value of sportsmanship and teamwork. My teammates and I have become confidants to each other, as we challenge and encourage each other to become better in everything that we do even at 6:00 a. m. in the morning. Swimming not only helped me see that there will always be room for improvement, but I am also motivated to push myself to the limits in the friendly competitive setting. Getting to see and observe the competition allows me to see where I want to set my next goal and where I could improve wherever it be technique or time. Walking up at 5:30 a.m. for six days a week for the grueling two and a half hour practice has developed my self discipline, as well as taught me how to manage my time efficiently and prioritize. With my busy schedule of work, school, and extracurricular activities, I have to be able to squeeze in everything along with sleep or sacrifice some matters over another sometimes. • 8. Gamora Vs Star-Homer After the last Guardians Of The Galaxy film, fans speculated a sequel from director James Gunn. The last movie had action packed scenes, a possible romance, and a lot of sarcasm. Which left all Marvel geeks wanting more from the talented cast. The movie hits theaters on May 5th, and some of your favorite characters will return to the big screen. Maybe even some new ones. But what can fans expect from the upcoming release? Of course, all of us want to see more of Gamora and Star Lord. Both seemed to have a spark in the last movie. We are hoping the directors include some of this romance a little bit more in the movie. We also need a lot of super cool actions scenes. With swords, laser guns, and maybe even a new Xfinity Stone. But what fans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Marx, Mill And Freud s Critique Of Political Economy And... Describe and assess the explicit (and sometimes merely implicit) notions of freedom and unfreedom we find in the texts we have read by Marx, Mill and Freud. Use the esoteric traditions we have examined thus far (from the Book of Job to Plato) as a comparative yardstick, or point of reference, but without letting them take over the foreground in your paper the latter should be reserved for these three figures. Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud, and John Stuart Mill are three authors who tackle the topic of freedom in unique ways, but their messages are fundamentally the same and continue the ideas that we encountered in the esoteric texts as well as in The Matrix: . First, we have Karl Marx s Capital: Critique of Political Economy and The Communist Manifesto, where we encounter the proletariat, or the working class people regarded collectively. In these two texts, the latter of which was co authored by Frederick Engels, we learn that the proletariat is enslaved just like the people in the matrix. And just like the people in the matrix, the proletariat is oblivious to this limit on its freedom. That is why in Karl Marx s view, unfreedom is what we are living in now. According to him, many people think that abolishing private property through communism is what will infringe on our freedom, but that is not the case. Specifically, in The Communist Manifesto Marx states, You are horrified at our intending to do away with private property. But in your existing society, private ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

James Madison And The Creation Of The Constitution Instances of inequality, especially in regard to citizenship and voting, trace back to the birth of the American nation, specifically, to James Madison and the creation of the Constitution. In late 1786, a Revolutionary War Veteran by the name of Daniel Shays, led an armed insurrection of improvised farmers who marched on the United States Armory in Springfield, Massachusetts in an unsuccessful attempt to seize weapons and overthrow the government. Colonial elites, horrified by the threat to their wealth and power, sought to reform the government, concerned with protecting their own rights. Western Christians In Global Missions Chapter Summary Western Christians in global mission review Western Christians in global missions by Paul Borthwick is about the interdependence and unity of the global Church. The book starts at the conclusion of an era of missions where North America has taken the helm. As the global missions community changes, North America needs to reassess its role. There are 4 main integrated points that Borthwick makes that should change the perspective of the white American middle class missionary. The greater part of evangelical Christians are no longer in North America. The majority world has just as much if not more missionary activity than North America. The North American Church needs to form partnerships not dictatorships. Finally, Borthwick weaves throughout the book the idea that the North American Church has something to learn from the majority world Church. Between the 16th and 20th century, 10 to 15 million enslaved Africans were forcibly shipped across the Atlantic. The conditions were incredibly harsh on the Middle Passage . When the ships docked at port for rest, there was always a chance that they could be attacked from enemies or pirates. They were even sometimes attacked by native tribes if they did not like their arrival. If the ships were faced with bad weather conditions, it would make the journey longer. Due to this the daily food rations the slaves had twice a day would be reduced greatly which resulted in many of them getting sick or nearly starving to death. These weather conditions affected both the crew and captain as well as the enslaved Africans, but the conditions were much worse for the enslaved Africans as they also dealt with mental, physical, and sexual abuse/assault from the captain and crew. PHONOLOGY AND SYLLABLE The syllable and grammar for the second era are subject to be studied in commensuration with the phonology of the Arabic language in a multi linguistic scenario of community. This is due to the fact that most of the communications at the regional level are oral by nature. Thus, the features of grammar and syllable cannot be ignored. It has been identified by Kahn (1976) that a mere hypothetical word atkin is not used and identified in English but without a syllable. The arrangements of the letters neither assumed later and former use of letters. But, there is a central place exists in few words; such as, Caltex . Because of this, such types of words are not found easily in the English literature because of the placement and arrangements of the letters in the word. The next matter of consideration is the segmental phonology rules; assimilation, length, neutralization, affrication, use of consonant and vowels. These rules are considered in alignment with the syllables of the word. A Syllable can use the segmental phonology rules; thus, the element of pharyngealization is observed rather than the use of other rules and practices. Moreover, the elements of rules are determined through the use of various functions; hence, there is obstruent exist in English which are the factors talk about the placement of the letter or the word. As evapotranspiration occurs in the water cycle from the forests, the water rises up to the atmosphere and the wind moves the rain. Like any other country, Nigeria has faced problems within its history that has contributed to the challenges the country faces today. One of the the most notable events within its history is the civil war that occurred from 1967 to 1970. This war was caused by a variety of reasons, but the main factor that brought on the onset of the war was cultural tensions. The Nigerian Civil War can be characterized by a clash of cultures vying for control of the country. To understand the events that led up to war, you have to understand the colonial history of Nigeria that contributed to its sectional tensions. Nigeria was carved out of the west of Africa by Britain without regard for preexisting ethnic, cultural and linguistic divisions. The British combined two separate provinces to form a single colony that forced over two hundred ethnic and groups to become a single nation. At the advent of Nigerian independence on 1 October 1960, when Great Britain gave up colonial power over Nigeria, three regions based on ethnic groupings were created to comprise the independent nation of Nigeria. Following decades of ethnic tension in colonial Nigeria, political instability reached a critical mass among independent Nigeria s three dominant ethnic groups: the Hausa Fulani in the north, Yoruba in the southwest, and Igbo in the southeast. Each ethnic group vowed for control of the country after independence leading to a series of coup and assassination attempts. The measures each ethnic group took to control power resulted in one of the worst atrocities that divided the country: the Igbo genocide. Different ethnic groups took punitive measures against the Igbo. Further anger over the murder of prominent Hausa politicians led to the massacre of scattered Igbo populations in northern Hausa Fulani regions. This persecution triggered the move by Igbo separatists to form their own nation of Biafra the following year. The consequences of the war included starvation, mass death, and displacement of Igbos. This is significant because it shows that he still uses polite wording even though he has given up living. He courteously refuses to eat and chooses to live for as long as he prefers to live and curls up against one of the prison walls. This refusal, even in the face of death, shows an almost courageous side of Bartleby. He knows that he will most likely die, but he still musters up the courage to continue his fight. Many business men supported prohibition, because this would reduce the amount of absences at work and would increase production and efficiency. Furthermore, many social reformers supported prohibition, since it would benefit the family unit. • 33. Essay Comparing Gilgamesh And The Flood Throughout the readings of both The Flood from the Epic of Gilgamesh and excerpts from Genesis 6:5 9:17: The Flood , one has noticed numerous similarities that connect the two articles. Before one has read the articles, one notices that both readings were written a long time ago in the B.C. era. Both the readings talk about a God or multiple gods creating a flood because the humans expressed wickedness. The purpose of the flood was to wipe out mankind. The two readings ask for a man to build a massive ark/boat. Both the boats were sealed with pitch. Both stories talk about the God/gods telling the man what dimensions the boat shall be built with. The man in both readings sacrificed something for the God/gods. The God/gods both smelled the sacrifice. Both readings express that the God/gods promise not to destroy humankind again. One believes that it is possible that the author of Genesis had some knowledge of the Epic of Gilgamesh because the readings correlate together so well. The Epic of Gilgamesh originated before Genesis and shares great detail between both stories. Both of the readings talk about the same event on our planet. Both Genesis and the Epic of Gilgamesh documented this event at the same time and are expressing/sharing it in a way they both understand. One of these accounts may have been altered by a mix up in oral tradition. It would be too much of a coincidence if Genesis took information from Epic of Gilgamesh because Genesis has more detail compared to the other reading. Genesis must have witnessed the event and wrote it down in the perspective the author saw it in.The readings both parallel each other very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Arguments On Inequality In Society Division has been human nature since time immemorial. The clash of different groups based purely on their difference has been part of our nature since the days of the Sumerians. This conflict has always been an issue in society, plaguing nations and dividing communities. However, with modern innovation, many believe that we have overcome inequality, citing the rise of new arguments for equality and a more conciliatory outlook arising from activists. There is another faction, however, that argues that inequality is part of human nature and has been and will be around for the entire existence of the human race, due to its intrinsic nature and the subtle restrictions of freedoms that plague this nation. This latter argument finds support in the rhetoric and actions of both antiquity and the present. Frederick Douglass in a speech about modern civil liberties mentioned the Babylonian captivity, in which the captured Jews sat and... Wept for Zion a symbol of the oppression humans have experienced ever since [Source C]. Douglass is alluding to how people have been mistreated and brutalized by those unlike them since times before Jesus; this is invariable human nature, and with time all society reverts back to it. The Babylonians mistreated the Jews thousands of years ago because of their race. • 36. Band Concert Review When I first arrived at Live on the Green I had never seen the venue or heard any of the bands who were performing. I didn t look up to see who was performing in which slot I just thought whenever I get ready and get there is who I will see play. Luckily enough for me Anderson East exceeded my expectations. I left Saturday around four, picked up my friend, and off we went. When we arrived we scanned our seating options. People were scattered everywhere. Some on blankets and in chairs on the lawn, some were relaxing under shade of the trees at tables, and then there were some who stood and bopped to the beat. We decided to grab some food, drink, and proceed to finding a nice spot to set our blanket. He connected with his audience an appropriate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You could hear a saxophone, drums, a trumpet, and two guitars in this performance. His outfit was super trendy and modern. He engaged a relationship with the audience when he first stepped on stage and then spread it out throughout the rest of his set, making sure to comment to us every now and again. The behavior of the audience affected my experience by making me feel like I could really let lose. I was cheering for the band and completely enjoying myself. I was glad to have a friend there but was also enjoying the random mingling. Children who spend longer than five days within hospital will receive education on day five of their stay, if a child is a recurrent patient they will receive education on day one (East SILC, 2016). The hospital school works with the child s primary school once a referral is completed. Teachers and other members of staff work with the information given to them and focus on aspects of the national curriculum and most importantly what work the child would be completing if they were able to attend school. Aims The aims of this reflective report are to demonstrate the difference in teaching and learning for pupils within this setting. Also understand the impact one to one support has on a child.
