Job Description:
University of Jordan- Department Manager – Quality & Technical Services
 Provide Managerial and Technical guidance & expertise
 Document best practices and adhere to formal standards and processes as laid down
 Staff development through recruiting new staff and training
 Do Budget planning and meet budget expectations
 Managing about 40 employees distributed through three sections
1. Cyber Security Section: which is responsible for
 Setting cyber security polices for the organization
 Periodic Systems vulnerability assessment and scanning
 Periodic Websites vulnerability scanning
 Log management and analysis
 Provide recommendations to top management (based on studies &
PoC) to ensure the security of applications and e-services (like
introducing WAF, DB firewall, NGF, file encryption).
2. Software Quality Assurance Section
 Ensure the quality of the in-house newly developed software through
documentation and predefined procedures and standards.
 Develop the required documentation and templates for existing
systems.
 Develops and drives on going system validation and provides
guidelines for all levels of testing.
 Establishes and maintain domain standards, ownership of the
application/interface testing roadmap for future services and standards
 Reviews and approves all quality, testing, and application/interface
artifacts delivered.
 Contributes to strategic planning of IT services and updates required
policies and procedures
3. Technical support & computer labs section
 Providing the required technical support for all ICT equipment within
the university including PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, and fingerprint
devices.
 Administrating Antivirus system with centralized management.
 Prepare and follow up SLAs (service level agreements) with third party
companies
 Participate in ICT equipment procurement process (providing
specifications and do evaluation for tenders or direct procurements).
 Provide video conferencing service through dedicated room using
Polycom VC system.
 Managing 20 general-purpose computer labs within the campus for
student use.
 Preparation and administration of E-exams within the computer labs.
 Evaluate old or malfunctioning ICT equipment to be out of service.

 Expert System Engineer with extensive network, Servers, and SAN storage technical
experience Directing system engineers to perform day-to-day tasks, service, and
maintenance.
 Manage and administer SAN storages (IBM, HP,Dell) and different types of servers
(Blade and Rack) from different vendors (IBM, HP, Dell, Fujitsu)
 Manage and administer core services “DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Exchange, ISA”
 Ensure the latest patches and O/S upgrades according to the standards instructions to
ensure minimum interruptions and failures and maximum business continuity.
 Maintain user definitions and user authorizations (new, changes and deletions) in
coordination with the Human Resources department, create and maintain all network
and email accounts, home folders, login scripts, security groups and shares services
(Email, Folder, etc)
 Ensure day to day backup and restore policies and procedures.
 Provide installation and testing guidelines for the technical support team.
 Ensure day to day operational monitoring, maintenance, tuning and exception-handling.
 Manage and administer warranties, licenses and service contracts.
 Do the necessary diagnostic, trouble-shooting and error correction.
 Coordinate, initialize, supervise and control vendors and 3rd part technical assistance.
 Install and maintain hardware and software inventory and ensure licensing compliance.
 Maintain a current knowledge in new and existing systems software and hardware to
ensure productivity and capability, at the lowest cost ratio.

 2010: High Performance Computing cluster for research purposes. About 72 computing
node distributed over 9 physical server used for computational calculations for the
Physics Department.
 2009-2010: University of Jordan IT Security Appliances project. Key member in the
Technical Specification committee as well as supervision committee (project budget
about $860,000)
 2009: (RISC Servers+ SAN+ Tape library+ Backup SW) solution; act as Providing
technical specifications as well as Key member in the Acceptance committee.(project
