Importance Of Geography In Nigeria
Geography is the study of people, their environments, and their resources. Geography affects our lives
and a country s history. A country it affects is Nigeria, its geographic features have different effects on
the country as a whole. The five themes of geography are location, place, human environment
interaction, movement and regions. These geographic features are very important and have led to
historic events with significant outcomes in Nigeria.
Location is a theme of geography, which tells us where we are. There are two types of location,
absolute and relative. Absolute location is a latitude and longitude, global location, or a street address,
a local location. The absolute location of Nigeria is 10° North Latitude, 8° East
Longitude. Relative location is a location described by landmarks, time, direction or distance, and the
relationship of one place to another. The relative location of Nigeria is east of Benin, south of Niger,
southwest of Chad, west of Cameroon, and on the west coast of Africa. This causes great strife in
Nigeria because its location has led to border disputes with their neighbors
Chad and Cameroon. Decades ago, Cameroon ceded from Nigeria and there are still disputes about
which land is whose. However, their location is beneficial, giving them multiple countries to trade
with; and control over the River Delta, which gives them a monopoly on oil production.
The theme, location, affects Nigeria as a country and the lives of its people.
The theme of place tells us what it s like there . Human characteristics and physical characteristics are
two parts of the theme of place. Human characteristics are the main languages, customs, and beliefs of
a country; how many people live, work, and visit a place. The main languages of Nigeria are English,
Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa. Many aspects of Nigerian customs
have to do with politeness and respect to your elders. The customs are simple, such as greeting your
elders and parents in the morning, calling elders ma or sa . They are very friendly and inclusive, and
they always help out one of their own.The main religions are Christianity and
Islam. Thee Northern region of Nigeria is mostly populated by Hausas who are predominantly
Muslim. The West is

Field Artillery History
In the Army customs and courtesies, as well as traditions, can be traced back through time and linked
to a certain place in history; this also applies to many of the tactics, techniques, and procedures in
place today. The battle of La Drang took place during the Vietnam War, where many changes took
place to adapt to the foreign battlefield. It is a battle that very easily highlights the changes the Army
has made in its utilization and techniques for integrating the field artillery with maneuver elements. It
displays the adjustment made a command and control level, by decentralizing the firing batteries from
the field artillery battalion, as well as the changes to how soldiers on the ground made use of indirect
fires.

Esters And The Process Of Esterification
Esterification
Esters are the carboxylic acid derivatives most commonly produced by the reactions esterification.
The most famous esterification is also called Fischer esterification, which is actually an acid catalyzed
reaction of alcohol and carboxylic acid. In addition to acid, alcohols can react with acyl chlorides,
anhydrides, and esters are also formed. U with the reaction of alcohol and acyl chloride, with the ester
there is HCl, so in such esterification reactions should be added to the base which will bind the acid
produced. As a base it is most often added pyridine. In addition, from one ester, another ester can be
obtained by reacting the first ester with the new alcohol that represents transesterification.

Salicylic acid (2 hydroxybenzoic acid) was first discovered acid, Figure 3b) in the middle of the 19th
century by converting glycoside salicin into acid form. However, this form was difficult to take orally
because it caused irritation in the mouth cavity and stomach, and it was a bad taste. In 1897 this
problem was solved by Arthur
Eichengrun synthesizing acetylsalicylic acid (2 acetoxybenzoic acid), form aspirin as we use today [4,

Bayer) is in three words. A derives from the abbreviation for acetylation, spirid from Latin it is called
the herbage plant (Spirea ulmaria), and in is a suffix that was used frequently in names of medicines
Mechanism of action of aspirin
Prostaglandins are local hormones obtained enzymatically from fatty acids.
Prostaglandins are molecules that stimulate inflammation, affect secretion of gastric acid, regulate
blood flow to individual organs and perform many other functions. They re messengers molecules
because these reactions warn the body that something is wrong. Aspirin works so to block the
synthesis of prostaglandins by inhibiting the prostaglandin synthase enzyme (which belongs to a group
of cyclooxygenase, abbreviated COX), [9,10]. From

Similarities Between Aeneas And Achilles
Western Literature
Aeneas was considered as a Trojan hero in the Greco Roman mythology. He was the son of goddess
Venus sometimes known as Aphrodites and prince Anchises. Aeneas father was King Priam s fast
cousin of Troy, both of them were IIus grandsons, who was the founder of Troy. This meant that
Aeneas was Priam children s first cousin such as Paris and Hector. Aneneas is one of the Greek
mythology characters and in Homer s lliad. In the Roman mythodology, Aeneas is given full treatment
especially in Aeneid Virgil, in which he is regarded as Remus and Romulus ancestor. Aeneas became
Rome s first true hero.

What Is The Personality Of Indira Gandhi
Sagrika Ghosh s bare knuckle biography of Indira Gandhi shows the life and insights of the life of
Indira Gandhi. She is fondly remembered as Durga who won India its first decisive military victory in
centuries and the strong stateswoman who had the courage to look at the American bullying in the eye
and not blink. In the beguile? story of her life, journalist Sagrika Ghosh has excavated not just Indira
the iron lady and powerful dictator but also the flesh and blood lady. It has been 33 years since she
was assassinated but the shadow of Indira Gandhi continues to loom over Indian politics. Even today
she holds on public imagination as India s first woman Prime Minister, the architect of the major

Her father always wanted her to be a powerful independent woman. He wanted her to be healthy and
he taught her different sports but Indira was someone who was always unwell and came out as a

when Indira dropped out of Oxford she came as disappointment to her father who was very upset at
this decision of her. Furthermore, when she decided to marry Feroz Gandhi, Nehru rejected it because
he was from a lower caste and a different religion. Also, there were rumors of him being a drunkard

Investment Strategy Linear Programming Essay
INVESTMENT STRATEGY REPORT Submitted to J. D. Williams, Inc. By Mizar Gonzalez
Industrial Engineering Department Southern Polytechnic State university 404 519 2792 February 20,
2008 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This report is our recommendation for an optimal investment
strategy that would allow J. D. Williams, Inc. to maximize the annual yield of an investment of
$800,000 in a diversified portfolio of funds. To find the investment that would result in the greatest
annual yield we have formulated a linear program that takes into account the requirements for the
client of J. D. Williams, Inc. The requirements for the investment portfolio can be found on the section
titled Problem Description The greatest annual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The client will realize an annual yield on the $800,000 investment of $94,133.33 if it is allocated in
the following manner. The amount to be invested in the growth fund must be $ 248,889. The income
fund must have an investment of $ 160,000 and the money market fund must have an investment of $
391, 112. The solution is not surprising given the requirements for the investments. The amount
invested in the growth fund yields the greatest revenue but has to be less than 50% of the total
investment and is also limited by its high risk index. The amount is greatest when invested in the
money market fund because it balances the greater risk the other funds are subjected to. Problem
answers If the client s risk index was increased to.055 the investment would be affected in the
following manner. The optimal solution becomes $ 98, 800 and the funds would be allocated in the
following manner: Growth fund $ 293, 334, Income fund $ 160, 000, and Money Market fund $ 346,
667. If the original problem is consulted and the annual yield of growth fund is downgraded to 16%
the optimal solution would change to $92, 934 with the funds invested in the following manner.
Growth fund $ 293, 334, Income fund $ 160, 000, and Money Market fund $ 346, 667. The yield of
the growth fund still justifies having a large amount of the portfolio

How to Start and Manage a Successful Business
The high failure rate of business start ups has become common knowledge over time. According to the
study by Van de Ven, Ar, Hudson, R and Schroeder (1984), the survival of a business over a short term
period of about a year and half is 54% and 25% over a period of six years. This means that the failure
rate of business start ups is a high 75%. Although studies show that business start ups have a high
failure rate, strategic business and financial planning, good management and marketing skills are
important factors to consider to avoid failure and to be a successful business. As an aspiring
entrepreneur that wants to start a new business, they have to make sure that they have a well thought

The usual start up costs involve a start up fee for the business, down payment or rental for the building
on location, inventory, utilities, insurance, etc. Because there is a wide array of businesses to choose
from, every new business start up costs will vary. Some of the start up costs will include one time fees
and on going fees. Consulting a financial planner would be very helpful and beneficial during this
stage and through the on going stages of the business. One of the main purposes of a business is to
make money; therefore, consulting with a financial planner will provide financial strategies to help the
business grow and increase revenue. The third stage in a new business start up is management. Having
good management skills are important to the success of a business. A business needs good leadership
that will move the business in the right direction towards growth and success especially through the
changes that the economy experiences. A manager and leader, need to get their employees to trust and
believe in them, and what the company is about, so that they can move forward together towards the
same goal. Communication skills are very important to have because this will help to build rapport
and trust with the employees and to be aware of the problems that they may experience on a day to
day basis. As a new company, being aware of these problems may even

John Yossarian Quotes
John Yossarian
Yossarian at first appears to be a paranoid and weak character. He believes that everyone is trying to
kill him, and pretends to be sick in the hospital to avoid combat. His main goal throughout the war is
to survive, and to escape the military.
They re trying to kill me (9).
Yossarian learns that Orr is alive and decides to run away to Sweden to escape the war.
Through Yossarian s character, Heller satirizes the fact that not everybody involved in war is a hero.
Although Yossarian contributes to the war effort and does his share, deep inside he is truly traumatized
by the war and cannot bring himself to be brave. Unlike the others who put themselves on the line in
battle, Yossarian s paranoia causes him to hide in hospitals, pretending to suffer from sickness.

Korn continues to manipulate and control Cathcart, but he does not want to go to a higher rank
because he wants Cathcart to be his scapegoat for any wrong decisions.
Heller criticizes the power struggles that occur within the military. Korn, Cathcart s inferior, manages
to take control of Cathcart s job without anybody noticing, and he does not admit to it because he is
afraid of being blamed for anything wrong.
Clevinger
Clevinger is an optimistic character, which causes Yossarian to dislike him due to their opposite
personalities. Yossarian believes him to be crazy because he does not believe that everyone is out to
kill him, while Clevinger believes that Yossarian isolates himself from others too much.
As far back as Yossarian could recall, he explained to Clevinger with a patient smile, somebody was
always hatching a plot to kill him (12).
Clevinger disappears after his plane flies into a cloud.
Hellinger satirizes those who find positivity in time of war. Clevinger, ironically, kept a positive
mindset throughout, but he ultimately disappears, his future unknown.

Driving Cars Should Be Allowed On Our Roads
I support that self driving cars should be allowed on our roads. Think about riding in your car without
being paying attention to all the details on the roads. Think about leaving work exhausted and get into
your car, push a button, type your home address and the next thing you know you are in your parking
at your house. Let s think about that last party when you had that extra glass of wine, and you are
alone staring at your car wondering how you will get home. The self driving car is the solution to
those struggles that we all face at any time in our lives. The future of moving people and goods will
bring as new transportation technologies, an these technologies will make it possible to move faster
and safer than ever before, but law and regulations and rigorous planning need to take place at the
same paste as these technologies. The self driving cars are coming on our roads and I can t wait to that
day when they will not be fiction but a fact. Self driving cars if allowed will make life easier to
commuters and will reduce the mortality rate due to road accidents. Most of the roads accidents are
due to reckless driving and drunk driving. According to the International Organization for Road
Accident Prevention (IORAP), 1.3 million road deaths occur worldwide every year and more than 50
million people are seriously injured. There are 3,500 deaths a day or 150 every hour, and nearly three
people get killed on the road every minute (IORAP). Shockingly, more than 90

The Essential Historiography Reader Summary
In The Essential Historiography Reader by Caroline Hoefferle, and The Penguin History of Europe by
J.M. Roberts, both authors write about what modern history is. Hoefferle, breaks down the evolution
of history and how its recorded into three different periods of time. She starts with ancient history,
then moves into medieval and finishes with modern history. Roberts, believes that modern history was
shaped in three centuries. Both authors agree on what modern history is, but only Hoefferle really
goes into detail about the transition from how history was recorded in the ancient world up until the
evolution of modern history. Hoefferle begins her book with the start of early histories, noting key

16). Homer told stories and history traveling across the country and followed a mythopoetic tradition,
but nothing was recorded (Hoefferle, p. 16 17). The revolutionary shift came from the emergence of
historians who criticized Homer s lack of applied rationalist methods to the study of their past
(Hoefferle, p. 16). Herodotus was the first to break away from that tradition and attempted to study the
world through observable evidence ( Hoefferle, p. 17) Herodotus thinking was very different and
intuitive for the time period. He was interested in describing, not only what happened, or where it
happened but also why certain things occurred (Hoefferle, p. 17). This way of thinking would become
the foundation for history as it would be practiced in Western Civilization for the next two thousand

Social Media Networking Technologies
Social Media Networking Technologies Introduction The potential of social media to significantly
improve the performance of enterprises by accelerating collaboration, communication and creating a
greater level of knowledge sharing is seen across a myriad of commercial, educational and
government implementations. The intent of this analysis is to evaluate the use of two social
networking technologies that the university can use to accelerate and accentuate their learning objects.
The strengths and weaknesses of two social networking technologies are evaluated, in addition to an
analysis of how they will impact the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) of existing university
IT investment. Social Media and Networking Technologies Contribution to Education The
cornerstones of long term learning are autonomy, mastery and purpose. The use of electronic
scaffolding as a means to enable autonomy, mastery of learning programs in general and the use of
social media specifically shows significant pontifical for higher education institutions (Najjar, 2008).
The technologies chosen for the university are designed to allow for very precise scaffolding of
educational content while also allowing for rapid collaboration and communication across
departments and between students and instructors. The first social media platform is a campus wide
intranet that will give students the ability to collaborate and communication 24/7 with each other and

Inequality
People are unequal and we should not treat them equally.
What is equality? Equality is a state in which every living person is given the same number of
opportunity to vent out their ability to its fullest, regardless of gender, race, wealth, religion, and so
on.
However, in the world of capitalism and libertarianism, people cannot be equal. Each person is born
with different amounts of wealth and contrary aspects both physically and mentally, no matter how
much people fight for equal human rights. There is an increase in reported racial discrimination cases,
and still women in South Korea are less employed than men.
Capitalism was adopted by the government as a means to motivate people into working harder.
Nevertheless, both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Punitive punishments for people who abused Black people have long been the norm. Industrial
tribunals throughout the country are still hearing racial discrimination cases on a daily basis. Race
discrimination cases have risen from 4,100 in 2007/8 to 5,000 in 2008/9 and 5,700 in 2009/10
Employment Tribunal and EAT statistics (2009 10) (GB) This trend can clearly be seen as a rise in
cases being brought before the tribunals. In another interview with a service user from the Power
House Foyer in Toxteth Liverpool. Nmono an asylum seeker from Uganda explained how she felt
when trying to access medical services in this country. Nmono stated she had difficulty in trying to
make her needs understood because of the language barriers.
As already stated before equality is an everyday part of our existence in society today and a great deal
of attention is paid to this part of our lives. Equality in the domestic home is rarely looked at or does it
receive any attention in law or government policies. If we look at the Victorian model of a home we
can see that the husband was expected to work, and the wife was expected to stay home. The female
of the house was also expected to cook, clean and care for the husband and children. Very much as it
remains to date. Inequality in the home has many downsides to it. The marriage will not be an equal
partnership. The female could feel undervalued, and

It is a common theme for groups of artist to revolt against their predecessors and the common
standards that the pervious community of artist held. This is seen repeatedly from the ancient Greeks,
whose bronze and marble sculptures developed around the perfection of the male human form, to the

The Great War, later dubbed as the First World War , hadn t really piqued the interest of the United

Central Powers (especially Germany) towards the United States also grew. Though with the

Triple Alliance that had threatened France. There were also a lot more causes that also contributed to
World War 1, but amongst them all, the one that was probably the most important was the
assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The reason as to why it was and is the most important
cause to World War I was how much of a propulsion it had on the European countries to cause World
War I in the first place. To start off, the assassination of the Archduke was by a member of a group

are familiar to Nigeria including political corruption, bureaucratic corruption, electoral corruption,
embezzlement, and bribery. Corruption has even been said to be a viable enterprise in Nigeria due to

3. Was Shell taking advantage of weak local regulation?
Shell was taking advantage of weak local regulation and using third party companies to funnel bribes
to the Nigerian government. These bribes bought them many sources of preferential treatment
including using government manpower to move ships, rigs, workboats, and other equipment
throughout the country. Shell was also able to exploit the military and secured the use of military
aircraft for quick movement of special goods. Bribes also allowed Shell to circumvent visa inspections
and avoid having their employees deported for over staying their visas. Many precautions were taken
to cook the books and hide these bribes in case of an audit. One such precaution included drawing up
fake invoices to create line items on the balance sheet to mask certain bribes. All of these actions taken
by Shell are clear examples of how they took advantage of the weak government. A strong
government with proper checks and balances would be much harder to manipulate. Bribery and other

In Burn , Eliza experiences a character arc within the three vignettes of the song. Eliza sings this song
completely along; the first song in which a character receives a complete solo from start to finish, with
minimal orchestration, an important thing to note since it symbolically provides a clear canvas for
Eliza s thoughts. In the first verse, Eliza still clings to her smitten, helpless love with Alexander. In the
second verse, she grows increasingly exasperated with Alexander and the self exposal of his affair.
She falls into a helpless, pitiful tone of despair and agony. In her final vignette, Eliza sheds her
helpless skin and becomes a stronger, independent woman who single handedly alters the course of
history by burning her letters. Throughout this song, however, not once does Eliza blame Maria. She
pins all the blame exactly on the person at fault; her husband Alexander. When Eliza sings, You
published the letters she wrote you/ You told the whole world how you brought/ This girl into our bed
(Hamilton) in her soliloquy. Eliza remains fully capable of referring to Maria in several, less
democratic ways, from whore , as James Reynolds does, to a fully developed and conscious woman,
as Alexander does. Instead, she chooses to see Maria for what she truly is; a helpless girl who suffers

Swot Of Red Bull
Background
Red bull is the market leader in energy drinks. Red bull was found by Dietrich Matchitz while he was
visiting Thailand. Technially the formula was made by a man named Chaleo Yoovidhy, who was
providing to people to help keep them awake. In Thailand it was reffered to as Krating Daeng.
Dietrich tried out krating daeng himself and discovered that it works, primarly because it helped him
with jet lag. Dietrich went back to Thailand and collaborated with chaleo into making it a better
tasting formula and naming the product Red Bull. Red Bulls popular slogan red bull gives you wings
brought consumer awareness to the drink. Red bull became popular to men, athletes, students who
need cram in a study session and those who work graveyard shift. By 2010 Red Bull was made
available in 162 countries. Red bulls main main competitors are Rockstar and Monster energy drinks.
Also big corporations such as coca cola and pepsi. However coca cola and pepsi do not hold much
market share in the energy drink industry, which enables Red bull to keep the lead. They do offer
diiferent flavors such as vanilla coke, cherry pepsi etc. Red Bulls line only has one flavor.

The Theory Of General Relativity
No matter when we consider the beginning of time, there will always be the question of origin. And
before then what? The origin of the universe remains a mystery, but extrapolation from current
working models can be used to speculate about the universe s early development. The leading theory
on the early development of the universe is the Big Bang theory, which puts forth the idea that the
universe expanded from a singularity, or a single point.[1] The Big Bang laid the seeds that lead to the
development of planets that support life. Like the lifespan of a star, the duration of the universe may
also be finite. This finite duration is a shared property of stars, life and even the universe. The Theory

mass and energy.[1] In this singularity, the universe was inconceivably dense and hot. In this
inconceivably hot and small universe, classical mechanics are thought to break down and the four
fundamental forces (weak force, strong force, gravitation and electromagnetism) are thought to have
been unified. Our understanding of this period of the universe s existence is limited. The Planck
Epoch represents the time from zero seconds to 1.35x10 43 seconds, or one Planck time.[4] This time
is how long it takes light to travel one Planck length, which is approximately 1.6x10 35 meters. The
universe, expanding from a singularity, had not yet reached the size of a Planck length. Phenomena at
Planck size are described by quantum mechanics. As the universe

Effects Of The New Deal Dbq
Having gone through severe unemployment, food shortages, and a seemingly remiss President
Hoover, the American people were beginning to lose hope. But sentiments began to turn as FDR
stepped into office and implemented his New Deal programs. FDR and his administration responded
to the crisis by executing policies that would successfully address reform, relief, and, unsuccessfully,
recovery. Although WWII ultimately recovered America from its depression, it was FDR s response
with the New Deal programs that stopped America s economic downfall, relieved hundreds of
Americans, reformed many policies, and consequently expanded government power.
One of FDR s first orders of business was to respond to the need of reforming the banking system. ...

Yet, it implanted hope into millions of Americans for the well being of their future and the capitalist
system. The Social Security Act was also revolutionary in changing the government s role by showing
how a citizen s welfare was now also part of the government s responsibility. All these new programs
and organizations created by the New Deal show how they greatly expanded the government s power
and influence, as shown in Document C. In Document C, the cartoon shows how FDR s New Deal
was a progression of small change that consequently led to an expansion of government power. The
New Deal s many reform programs provided a foundation for America to build off of.
FDR s New Deal also sought out to provide relief for Americans. Unemployment rates were high and
poverty was widespread. To solve these problems, FDR created many programs and organizations,
such as the Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA), the Civil Works Administration
(CWA), the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), and the Works Progress Administration (WPA).
Document A shows how poor women, and also men, were barely assisted by the government. Urban
unemployment represented a big problem in the US. To solve the unemployment issue, FDR
implemented the CWA, which gave jobs to many people to build or repair roads, buildings, and other
structures. This was very effective because it not only dealt with the problem of unemployment,

Persuasive Essay On The Open Carry Law
Ever since the president Donald J. Trump was elected, the country has been divided greatly due to
racism just how it occurred in the 1950 s. In 1955, Rosa Parks, a black woman, was arrested because
she refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white person. This event caused a great uproar amongst
the Whites and the Blacks that lead into many civil right movements in which the Black people
participated by protesting. For example, the incident that occurred on August 12 of this year with the
an anti white supremacist group who was protesting in the same city as the white supremacist
protesters. A random person drove their car into the crowd of the anti white supremacist protesters and
ended up killing one woman and left dozen more seriously injured. To this incident, President Trump
gave a press conference about the horrific act of the murder while stating that there were good and bad
people on either side, justifying the act of the murder of running over the anti white supremacists.
Sadly, while Trump remains in office, the country will not become less violent and people from
different races will end up shooting each with or without the open carry law. California has become
more violent over time, especially with President Trump in office. No one is safe in public and if the
decision to open carry is reinstated, the law would be a much safer choice for anyone who wants to
protect themselves and their loved ones. While some people may argue that guns are better

Arnold Van Gennep s Rites Of Passage
Introduction Rites of Passage are most directly related to the works of Arnold van Gennep and later,
Victor Turner. Gennep describes how though rites of passage, a person achieves a new status in
society, without disrupting the existing structure of that society. (Erikson 2010). There are three phases
to a rite of passage: separation, liminality, and integration. The separation phase is exactly what it
sounds like; a person takes a step away from his or her old life in order to develop a new identity
(Berry 1984). The liminal phase, or the in between phase, is one in which the person is learning a new
way of life, in order to be reborn into society, after which the person is re integrated into society
(Erikson 2010). Hockey players undertake a lengthy rite of passage in order to become a professional,
which begins when a child learns how to ice skate, separation, up until the time when he or she
becomes a professional hockey player, integration. However, most hockey players never finish this rite
of passage. Statistically speaking, the odds of making it to the integration phase ... Show more content

The West Point Cheating Scandal Essay
The West Point Cheating Scandal
Description:
In April of 1976 it was found that there was a possibility that over half of the junior class at West Point
Academy had violated the West Point honor code by cheating on a case assignment. The honor code
states A cadet will not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate those who do. This was by far the largest
violation of the honor code in West Point history and presented some unusual challenges to the
administration. As the year dragged on it was found that more and more students possibly had cheated
on the assignment and was also becoming a public relations nightmare in the press and internally to
the Army branch of the United States military.
The honor code at West Point was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The empowerment and enforcement of the code has always been up to the ethics committee which is
made up of cadets itself. This had always been to exert pressure on all students to comply with the
code by means of having to face your peers in hearings.
The one part of the honor code that was a staple of controversy was the end that says no cadet will
tolerate any action that violates the honor code. This implied that if you knew anything about a
violation that you were just as liable as the offender himself. This part of the code was troubling for
many considering you were dealing with comrades who were training next to you in close quarters
and with serious future implications. This can be a very precarious situation for many and by holding
students to it can promote more honor code violations. The problem here is the fact that anyone can
make mistakes and in the situations involving the honor code West Point has taken the honor out of
supporting your comrades as well as the honor of admitting to your mistakes. They have done this by
issuing expulsion to all violators. It can be said that someone who can admit to their mistakes knowing
the consequences that will ensue is of a stronger moral background than one who may not violate the
code in the first place or someone who does not get caught. (Note: the current honor code allows for
reacceptance to the academy after violations and

In any organization, the manager s bosses, peers and subordinates, in return for their active support,
impose some requirements, just as the manager imposes some requirements upon them when they are
drawing upon his or her support. These demands constitute so much of the manager s time that
successful leadership hinges on an ability to control this monkey on the back effectively.

Let us analyze this one. The monkey is now on the subordinate s back because the next move is his,

it in his out basket. Shortly thereafter, the manager plucks it from his in basket and reads it. Whose

the subordinate (this is another form of supervision). The longer the manager delays, the more
frustrated the subordinate will become (he ll be spinning his wheels ) and the more guilty the manager
will feel (his backlog of subordinate imposed time will be mounting).
Or suppose once again that at a meeting with a third subordinate, Smith, the manager agrees to
provide all the necessary backing for a public relations proposal he has just asked Smith to develop.
The manager s parting words to her are Just let me know how I can help. Now let us analyze this. Here
the monkey is initially on the subordinate s back. But for how long? Smith realizes that she cannot let
the manager know until her proposal has the manager s approval.

Melting Pot Anna Quindlen
Melting Pot or Anti Melting Pot? Surprisingly, the melting pot is a unclear piece of the American
Identity. The melting pot is an idea about how people (immigrants) all over the world come in one
place and share their different cultures. America is one example of a melting pot since immigrants all
over the world visit, live and share thoughts and ideas to create one big unique culture. While most
Americans are proud of the United States to be a country of big culture, some Americans do not like
the notion of immigrants coming from other countries to live in America. Although many writers
demonstrate that the melting pot exists, some authors show that there are Americans who don t want
the United States to become a melting pot. To examine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These Americans want to keep their culture unmixed with other ethnic groups. For instance, White
Americans once segregated African Americans. Not only are African Americans segregated, but other
races are segregated as well. Daniel Thames, a author from the Washington News states, But yet, you
witness this persistence of segregation [in all races], the fragmentation, all these fights over resources,
this finger pointing. You would have to be blind not to see it (Thames 2). It seems although there are
indeed immigrants from other countries, that actually makes competition for resources (such as jobs)
for Americans harder. Therefore, some Americans are not interested in seeing another immigrants
culture. In fact, some Americans may dislike immigrants for taking resources from them. .
Metaphorically, this represents Americans trying to put a lid over the melting pot, so that no races
enter the pot. Only white Americans would exist inside the pot. In addition, Noy s situation is similar
to a situation called nativism. Nativism is the political idea where people born established in a country
are more important than immigrants. The atmosphere of Noy s story is similar to nativism. Noy s
classmates and neighbors appeared to be superior and more important. Nativism was actually common
throughout United States history.

Sociolinguistic Status Of The Seri Language
Sociolinguistic Status of the Seri Language ROUGH DRAFT
1.0 Introduction
Seri is an indigenous language spoken by less than 1,000 people on the west coast of Sonora, Mexico
(Lewis, Simons, Fennig 2016). The language is generally considered to be an isolate despite former
attempts to include it in the proposed Hokan language family or link it to the now extinct Salinian
language (Campbell, 1997; Marlett, 2007; Marlett, 2008; Marlett, 2011). SIL International has had a
presence within the Seri community since 1951 when Edward and Mary Beck Moser moved to Sonora

The same year, local hacienda owner and rancher Pascual Encinas drove his cattle into Seri land and
tried to train the Seri to work for him (Sheridan, 2000, p. 112). When this failed, his well armed men
attacked the Seri who were armed only with handcrafted weapons. By 1855, the Seri population had
dropped to a mere 500 (Bowen Moser, 1996). While much has already been lost including the 6 band
structure of the Seri people, cultural knowledge, and at least 2 extinct dialects (Bowen and Moser,
1996; Moser, 1963; Marlett, 2014) much still stands to be lost. The Seri population reached a low of
approximately 200 speakers in the 1950s (Gordon, 2005) and, while population size is not an inherent
signifier of language wellbeing, the small number of speakers puts Seri on a cultural and linguistic
precipice due to the concurrent threat of colonization. The following sections will explore the ongoing
pressures which further jeopardize the sociolinguistic status of the language.
3.0 Economic Wave The Seri are known among local populations for their extended refusal to submit
to colonization. Their fierce opposition to Spanish and, later, Mexican attempts to exterminate or
assimilate their population gained them notoriety as the Savage Seris of Sonora (David and Dawson,
1945). Because of this impressive resistance, the Seri are currently experiencing delayed effects of the
economic wave as described by Nettle and Romaine (2000).

surroundings. Her arms ached from a memory of excessive pain from being beaten by her father in the
dark basement of her large home. She was beaten for being smart, silly, or kind with her friends she
had made, years ago. She wanted to be an author, but her father thought otherwise, and gave much
disapprobation towards her. He wanted her to become business woman. In fact, it was all she could
remember from her childhood, and now as a 17 year old girl, she lives with her mom who has the
starting stages of alzheimer s disease. Rue slipped out the habiliments of her bed, and made her way
through the labyrinth of her home, to the bathroom. The wall were draped with red velvet arabesque
tapestries, and the floors were always furnished. She went out to school that cold morning, tucking her
dyed blue hair behind her ears. In class, she was bullied by Korra and Alex, for being timid and quiet.
In math class, Korra stole her notes, and threw them out the window. She even accidently spilled
drinks on Rue s clothes. During all this, Rue never said a word, she stayed as always hunched over,
seemingly lifeless, until Alex started flirting with Eden. Whenever Eden was around, her dull face
would light up, and cheeks began to glow. He d always read stories to her, whenever they would hang
out, which made her feel like someone else, that she could be someone else. However all she could do
was suppress the tears that began to leak out her eyes, when she sees Eden kiss Alex s cheek. Rue didn
t have the power or strength to fight for what she truly wanted in life. She truly believed that she was
meant to suffer. Once school ended, Rue began her journey back home, taking small steps with her
petite feet. A familiar voice filled with great piquancy called for her saying, Hey! Rue, wait, I have a
book I really

Essay about Dr. Seuss s Political Education
Dr. Seuss s Political Education:
During a career that spanned much of the last century, Dr. Seuss wrote over forty books, many of
which involve a young protagonist on a quest. The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins (1937),
Bartholomew and the Oobleck (1949), Scrambled Eggs Super! (1953), Horton Hears a Who! (1954), I
Had Trouble in Getting To Solla Sollew (1965), The Lorax (1971), and Oh, the Places You Go! (1991)
all present versions of an episodic narrative, in which the main character strives towards a goal be it
the perfect dish of scrambled eggs in Scrambled Eggs Super!, or stopping dangerous pollution in The
Lorax and Bartholomew and the Oobleck. As the previous sentence suggests, the implications of this

Eyebrows raised as his sneering nephew Wilfred whispers to him, the King s response to the idea that
he chop off his [Bartholomew s] head indicates that he has grown confused and, really, is not
dangerous. A dreadful thought, he says while biting his lip. Though he proceeds with the execution
(which, of course, fails), the King s character implies that un elected leaders are fallible human beings
who, ultimately, will see their error.
Bartholomew s response to the King reinforces the sense that neither he nor any of the citizens of
Didd are in any immediate danger from their ruler. As the Captain of the King s Own Guards travels
with Bartholomew to the palace, Bartholomew feels terribly frightened only for a moment. He soon
realizes that the King can do nothing dreadful to punish me, because I really haven t done anything
wrong. The soft lines of these cartoon style illustrations emphasizes this absence of real danger, and
the bright red hats cascading behind him convey more a spirit of adventure than impending doom. At
the end of the quest, the King pays Bartholomew 500 pieces of gold for the fanciest hat on his head,
which locates Derwin in the role of a benevolent patron. Bartholomew goes home with a sack of gold,
a reward for his good luck and an implicit prize for his being a nice fellow throughout the story. The
morals at the end of the quest, then, seem to

Adeline s Physical Development Report
I will begin by addressing Adeline s physical development. Physically she is on track if not even
ahead of where she should be. By four months we expect birth weight to double, and Adeline who was
born at seven pounds ten ounces, is now already at twelve pounds fourteen ounces at only two and a
half months old (BOOK, 90). This means she only has two more pounds to gain in order to meet that
four month mark. She also is shooting up height wise. Born at a length of _____ she is now _____,
which is way more than the inch and a half per month an infant is expected to gain (PARENTS). Her
physical growth can be attributed to not only her dad s lengthy genetics, but also that fact that she is
breastfed. Babies that are breastfed are more likely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From my perspective she was always taking in the environment using all of her senses, taste of course
being a big one. Adeline would try to taste and place anything in her mouth that she was given. What
surprised me though was the fact that if the object was not skin feeling and if she did not seem to get
any value out of it she took it out of her mouth and put it down right away. Almost as if she was able
to perceive that it would not feed her or do much for her. Her eyes never were fixed on one spot for
longer than a few minutes either. She constantly was looking around, really observing everything that
was around her. By two months Adeline is able to not only stare at faces but also start to perceived
them and by three months, she will start to focus more on the eyes and mouths (Book, 98). She is
already at the three month mark though, as both her mother and I took turns making a smiley face and
then a frowny face to which she changed her reaction. When we smiled her eyes opened up bigger and
she had a social smile on her face. When we frowned she did not smile and got a look of sadness on
her face as well. You could tell cognitively that she was really starting to perceive and interpret what
our faces meant. Hearing, which develops in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy, was another way she took
in her environment (BOOK, 97). Adeline was more likely to react and look to human sounds, than

Changes in Indain Financial System Since 1991
2011 CHANGES IN INDIAN FINANCIAL SYSTEM SINCE 1991 SUPPLEMENTARY PROJECT
REPORT IFS IILM INSTITITE OF HIGHER EDUCATION LODHI ROAD HARJAS MANRAL
PG20101087 INTRODUCTION As the economy grows and becomes more sophisticated, the
banking sector has to develop parallely in a manner that it supports and stimulates such growth. With
increasing global integration, the Indian banking system and financial system has as a whole had to be
strengthened so as to be able to compete. India has had around two decade of financial sector reforms
during which there has been substantial transformation and liberalization of the whole financial
system.. Until the beginning of the 1990s, the state of the financial sector in India could be described

There was no scope of secondary market for government securities. The whole system transactions
were highly opaque. In the phase of Nationalization Social control, there was there was total neglect
of rural agricultural sector. Due to the dominant role of government in economic activity, Indian
Financial system catered only to the needs of planned development in a mixed economy framework.
Financial markets were segmented underdeveloped with lack of instruments. There was existence of
complex structure of interest rates arising from social economic concerns. The regulation of lending
rates, led to regulation of deposit rates to keep cost of funds to banks at reasonable levels, so that the
spread between cost of funds and return on funds is maintained. The lack of recognition of the
importance of transparency, accountability and prudential norms in the operations of the banking
system led also to a rising burden of non performing assets. These lacunae in the policies system made
India lag behind in growth with its counterparts. For a long period of around 40 years, India s growth
rate remained average less than 4 percent per annum, while other less developing countries achieved a
growth rate of over 5 percent per annum. Moreover, countries like Japan East Asian countries were
able to catch up with the industrialized countries of the west by adopting a market oriented pattern of
industrialization .The Indian government had started then in 1980 s the

Who Is The Protagonist In The Awakenings
All characters in the Awakenings did a great job. Without them, this movie will not reach its utmost
success. But out of more than 15 characters, one of them stand out the most and he is Robert De Niro
who played the role of Leonard Lowe as protagonist. According to Tim Stout (n d) Protagonist is
defined as the character responsible for handling the main problem and the one most in need of
change, emotionally. Meaning it is not easy to act as a protagonist like a paralytic person and with that
De Niro really did an excellent performance. Robin Williams who played the role of Dr. Malcolm

Army Leadership Definition
Too often the Army seeks to solve dynamic issues through management processes while underutilizing
leadership. The Army is prone to this in part because it does not distinguish between leadership and
management in doctrine or practice. There has been an ongoing debate in Military review as to the
relationship between command, leadership and management. In the Army, leadership and management
merge into one concept. As leadership is doctrinally conceptualized in managerial terms, it limits the
scope of personal power. It is difficult, if not impossible, to conduct management functions that stretch
outside the bounds of a given authority. Management is important and necessary; however, leadership
initiates effective and lasting change in our Soldiers. The Army s definition of leadership is the
process of influencing people by providing purpose, direction, and motivation (ADP 6 22, 2012).
However, the Army s, Army Doctrinal Reference Publication (ADRP) 1 02 does not include a
doctrinal definition for management nor is there a definition in the Joint Publication 1 02. Merriam
Webster defines management as the act or art conducting or supervising (Merriam Webster, 2017). ...

I was a Field Artillery Section Chief, now put in charge of 14 Soldiers, two HUMVEEs, and a M105

Analysis Of Katharine Cook Briggs And Her Daughter, Isabel...
Have you ever wondered why you get along with your best friends? Or maybe you are dying to know
why particular coworkers get under your skin. Perhaps routine quarreling with your cousin frustrates
you. Well, once I concluded after much research that I am the ENFJ personality type, I learned not
only how my type relates to the ESTJ type, but also that each person s unique perception of the world
causes many social conflicts due to individuals perceiving and responding to things opposite from
their peers. In order to better understand myself and others, I turned to the reliable, comprehensive
Jung typology test developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Briggs Myers. This
test is based on the work of famous early twentieth century psychologist Carl Jung. The test
determines one s personality type based on four parameters an introverted/extraverted scale, an
intuition/sensing scale, a feeling/thinking scale, and a judging/perceiving scale. By answering a series
of questions aimed at determining specific behavioral functions and dispositions, the applicant is
given four letters corresponding with the four parameters to represent his or her personality. Sixteen
letter combinations representing sixteen different personalities are possible. After taking multiple
typology tests offered by various websites and sifting through the often conflicting results, I concluded
that I am an ENFJ personality type. First, I took the test offered by Humanmetrics, which

An Ebook Is Short For Electronic Book
An eBook is short for Electronic Book; it s created on a computer and sold digitally to customers. It
does not pass through editors and publishers who all take a portion of the profits from the author. If
you can write and are an expert on something, you can write an eBook and sell it online. An EBook
has distinct advantages over a regular book in that you can place hyperlinks into an eBook that will
direct customers to websites where you may be selling products relating to that particular eBook. In
this way you make money once on your eBook sells and then again when your customers pay you a
visit on your website.
You can place Affiliate Links in your book. An Affiliate link is where your customer clicks and is
taken to a place like Amazon or another website selling products. When they purchase products from
these links, you the author, are given a portion of the sale. If you can write, you can make money
online. Let s say you enjoy Golden Retriever dogs. You know how to breed them, what they eat, how
to handle their health issues and just where to tickle them to make them giggle. You are The Golden
Retriever Whisperer!
Write articles about Golden Retrievers and submit them to an article directory like Article Dashboard,
or an E zine. Within your article on Golden Retriever nutrition, you can insert hyperlinks to your
webpage where you sell All Natural Golden Retriever Food. People come to the article directory
searching for pieces to place on their websites. Someone

Timken
Executive Summary
From our DCF calculations, the value of Torrington as a stand alone entity is $1.181 billion. However,
the maximum purchase price for Torrington should only be $641 million. The optimum debt amount
for this transaction would be $301 million. This amount of debt would result in a total debt to capital
ratio for Torrington of 47%, within the range for a BBB investment grade debt rating. The combined
entities, Torrington Timken, would produce an interest coverage ratio of 3.2, and a debt ratio of 45%,
again within the range for a BBB debt rating. The purchase would likely be a cash transaction.
History
Founded by carriage maker Henry Timken in 1899 in St. Louis, Missouri, the Timken Company was

in our calculations, as this company exhibited dramatic value differences to others in the sample,
(likely to skew our results and prove misleading). Using the average of the revised sample field for
each ratio, we inserted Torrington s values where appropriate to generate an entity value. The findings
generated two values for Torrington, 606 million and 398 million. Taking the average of these two
numbers, Torrington exhibited a relative value of 502.41 million. Because of the lack of related
information given in the case, and the often large differences in measures amongst competitors,
different capital structures, internal management strategies, there remained many unknowns in our
model. We decided it would be best to use this valuation to reaffirm our assumptions in our DCF
valuation. (Please see exhibits)
DCF Model Based on information given, we established the free cash flows from operations for
Torrington, for the period 1999 to 2007. We made the assumption that net working capital was 7% of
sales for Torrington, based on historic patterns. From this assumption, we found Change in Net
Working Capital for the selected years. Next, we chose a value for Capital Expenditures , again based
on historic patterns. From this we computed the Free Cash Flows to the Firm .

  • 2. Importance Of Geography In Nigeria Geography is the study of people, their environments, and their resources. Geography affects our lives and a country s history. A country it affects is Nigeria, its geographic features have different effects on the country as a whole. The five themes of geography are location, place, human environment interaction, movement and regions. These geographic features are very important and have led to historic events with significant outcomes in Nigeria. Location is a theme of geography, which tells us where we are. There are two types of location, absolute and relative. Absolute location is a latitude and longitude, global location, or a street address, a local location. The absolute location of Nigeria is 10° North Latitude, 8° East Longitude. Relative location is a location described by landmarks, time, direction or distance, and the relationship of one place to another. The relative location of Nigeria is east of Benin, south of Niger, southwest of Chad, west of Cameroon, and on the west coast of Africa. This causes great strife in Nigeria because its location has led to border disputes with their neighbors Chad and Cameroon. Decades ago, Cameroon ceded from Nigeria and there are still disputes about which land is whose. However, their location is beneficial, giving them multiple countries to trade with; and control over the River Delta, which gives them a monopoly on oil production. The theme, location, affects Nigeria as a country and the lives of its people. The theme of place tells us what it s like there . Human characteristics and physical characteristics are two parts of the theme of place. Human characteristics are the main languages, customs, and beliefs of a country; how many people live, work, and visit a place. The main languages of Nigeria are English, Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa. Many aspects of Nigerian customs have to do with politeness and respect to your elders. The customs are simple, such as greeting your elders and parents in the morning, calling elders ma or sa . They are very friendly and inclusive, and they always help out one of their own.The main religions are Christianity and Islam. The client will realize an annual yield on the $800,000 investment of $94,133.33 if it is allocated in the following manner. The amount to be invested in the growth fund must be $ 248,889. The income fund must have an investment of $ 160,000 and the money market fund must have an investment of $ 391, 112. The solution is not surprising given the requirements for the investments. The amount invested in the growth fund yields the greatest revenue but has to be less than 50% of the total investment and is also limited by its high risk index. The amount is greatest when invested in the money market fund because it balances the greater risk the other funds are subjected to. Like the lifespan of a star, the duration of the universe may also be finite. This finite duration is a shared property of stars, life and even the universe. The Theory of General ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We know nothing of this time, but we make projections based on current modeling. The leading theory on the birth of the universe is called the Big Bang theory. The Big Bang model described our current understanding of the universe. In the Big Bang theory, the universe was at one time a single point of mass and energy.[1] In this singularity, the universe was inconceivably dense and hot. In this inconceivably hot and small universe, classical mechanics are thought to break down and the four fundamental forces (weak force, strong force, gravitation and electromagnetism) are thought to have been unified. Our understanding of this period of the universe s existence is limited. The Planck Epoch represents the time from zero seconds to 1.35x10 43 seconds, or one Planck time.[4] This time is how long it takes light to travel one Planck length, which is approximately 1.6x10 35 meters. The universe, expanding from a singularity, had not yet reached the size of a Planck length. Phenomena at Planck size are described by quantum mechanics. As the universe ... But sentiments began to turn as FDR stepped into office and implemented his New Deal programs. FDR and his administration responded to the crisis by executing policies that would successfully address reform, relief, and, unsuccessfully, recovery. Although WWII ultimately recovered America from its depression, it was FDR s response with the New Deal programs that stopped America s economic downfall, relieved hundreds of Americans, reformed many policies, and consequently expanded government power. The New Deal s many reform programs provided a foundation for America to build off of. FDR s New Deal also sought out to provide relief for Americans. In 1955, Rosa Parks, a black woman, was arrested because she refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white person. This event caused a great uproar amongst the Whites and the Blacks that lead into many civil right movements in which the Black people participated by protesting. For example, the incident that occurred on August 12 of this year with the an anti white supremacist group who was protesting in the same city as the white supremacist protesters. A random person drove their car into the crowd of the anti white supremacist protesters and ended up killing one woman and left dozen more seriously injured. To this incident, President Trump gave a press conference about the horrific act of the murder while stating that there were good and bad people on either side, justifying the act of the murder of running over the anti white supremacists. Sadly, while Trump remains in office, the country will not become less violent and people from different races will end up shooting each with or without the open carry law. California has become more violent over time, especially with President Trump in office. This implied that if you knew anything about a violation that you were just as liable as the offender himself. This part of the code was troubling for many considering you were dealing with comrades who were training next to you in close quarters and with serious future implications. This can be a very precarious situation for many and by holding students to it can promote more honor code violations. The problem here is the fact that anyone can make mistakes and in the situations involving the honor code West Point has taken the honor out of supporting your comrades as well as the honor of admitting to your mistakes. They have done this by issuing expulsion to all violators. It can be said that someone who can admit to their mistakes knowing the consequences that will ensue is of a stronger moral background than one who may not violate the code in the first place or someone who does not get caught. In fact, it was all she could remember from her childhood, and now as a 17 year old girl, she lives with her mom who has the starting stages of alzheimer s disease. Rue slipped out the habiliments of her bed, and made her way through the labyrinth of her home, to the bathroom. The wall were draped with red velvet arabesque tapestries, and the floors were always furnished. She went out to school that cold morning, tucking her dyed blue hair behind her ears. In class, she was bullied by Korra and Alex, for being timid and quiet. In math class, Korra stole her notes, and threw them out the window. She even accidently spilled drinks on Rue s clothes. During all this, Rue never said a word, she stayed as always hunched over, seemingly lifeless, until Alex started flirting with Eden. Whenever Eden was around, her dull face would light up, and cheeks began to glow. He d always read stories to her, whenever they would hang out, which made her feel like someone else, that she could be someone else. However all she could do was suppress the tears that began to leak out her eyes, when she sees Eden kiss Alex s cheek. Rue didn t have the power or strength to fight for what she truly wanted in life. She truly believed that she was meant to suffer. Once school ended, Rue began her journey back home, taking small steps with her petite feet. A familiar voice filled with great piquancy called for her saying, Hey! Rue, wait, I have a book I really ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay about Dr. Seuss s Political Education Dr. Seuss s Political Education: During a career that spanned much of the last century, Dr. Seuss wrote over forty books, many of which involve a young protagonist on a quest. The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins (1937), Bartholomew and the Oobleck (1949), Scrambled Eggs Super! (1953), Horton Hears a Who! (1954), I Had Trouble in Getting To Solla Sollew (1965), The Lorax (1971), and Oh, the Places You Go! (1991) all present versions of an episodic narrative, in which the main character strives towards a goal be it the perfect dish of scrambled eggs in Scrambled Eggs Super!, or stopping dangerous pollution in The Lorax and Bartholomew and the Oobleck. Eyebrows raised as his sneering nephew Wilfred whispers to him, the King s response to the idea that he chop off his [Bartholomew s] head indicates that he has grown confused and, really, is not dangerous. A dreadful thought, he says while biting his lip. Though he proceeds with the execution (which, of course, fails), the King s character implies that un elected leaders are fallible human beings who, ultimately, will see their error. Bartholomew s response to the King reinforces the sense that neither he nor any of the citizens of Didd are in any immediate danger from their ruler. As the Captain of the King s Own Guards travels with Bartholomew to the palace, Bartholomew feels terribly frightened only for a moment. He soon realizes that the King can do nothing dreadful to punish me, because I really haven t done anything wrong. The soft lines of these cartoon style illustrations emphasizes this absence of real danger, and the bright red hats cascading behind him convey more a spirit of adventure than impending doom. At the end of the quest, the King pays Bartholomew 500 pieces of gold for the fanciest hat on his head, which locates Derwin in the role of a benevolent patron. Bartholomew goes home with a sack of gold, a reward for his good luck and an implicit prize for his being a nice fellow throughout the story. The morals at the end of the quest, then, seem to ... • 41. Adeline s Physical Development Report I will begin by addressing Adeline s physical development. Physically she is on track if not even ahead of where she should be. By four months we expect birth weight to double, and Adeline who was born at seven pounds ten ounces, is now already at twelve pounds fourteen ounces at only two and a half months old (BOOK, 90). This means she only has two more pounds to gain in order to meet that four month mark. She also is shooting up height wise. Born at a length of _____ she is now _____, which is way more than the inch and a half per month an infant is expected to gain (PARENTS). Her physical growth can be attributed to not only her dad s lengthy genetics, but also that fact that she is breastfed. Babies that are breastfed are more likely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From my perspective she was always taking in the environment using all of her senses, taste of course being a big one. Adeline would try to taste and place anything in her mouth that she was given. What surprised me though was the fact that if the object was not skin feeling and if she did not seem to get any value out of it she took it out of her mouth and put it down right away. Almost as if she was able to perceive that it would not feed her or do much for her. Her eyes never were fixed on one spot for longer than a few minutes either. She constantly was looking around, really observing everything that was around her. By two months Adeline is able to not only stare at faces but also start to perceived them and by three months, she will start to focus more on the eyes and mouths (Book, 98). She is already at the three month mark though, as both her mother and I took turns making a smiley face and then a frowny face to which she changed her reaction. When we smiled her eyes opened up bigger and she had a social smile on her face. When we frowned she did not smile and got a look of sadness on her face as well. You could tell cognitively that she was really starting to perceive and interpret what our faces meant. Hearing, which develops in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy, was another way she took in her environment (BOOK, 97). Adeline was more likely to react and look to human sounds, than those that ... The regulation of lending rates, led to regulation of deposit rates to keep cost of funds to banks at reasonable levels, so that the spread between cost of funds and return on funds is maintained. The lack of recognition of the importance of transparency, accountability and prudential norms in the operations of the banking system led also to a rising burden of non performing assets. • 44. Army Leadership Definition Too often the Army seeks to solve dynamic issues through management processes while underutilizing leadership. The Army is prone to this in part because it does not distinguish between leadership and management in doctrine or practice. There has been an ongoing debate in Military review as to the relationship between command, leadership and management. In the Army, leadership and management merge into one concept. As leadership is doctrinally conceptualized in managerial terms, it limits the scope of personal power. It is difficult, if not impossible, to conduct management functions that stretch outside the bounds of a given authority. Management is important and necessary; however, leadership initiates effective and lasting change in our Soldiers. The Army s definition of leadership is the process of influencing people by providing purpose, direction, and motivation (ADP 6 22, 2012). However, the Army s, Army Doctrinal Reference Publication (ADRP) 1 02 does not include a doctrinal definition for management nor is there a definition in the Joint Publication 1 02. • 45. Analysis Of Katharine Cook Briggs And Her Daughter, Isabel... Have you ever wondered why you get along with your best friends? Or maybe you are dying to know why particular coworkers get under your skin. Perhaps routine quarreling with your cousin frustrates you. Well, once I concluded after much research that I am the ENFJ personality type, I learned not only how my type relates to the ESTJ type, but also that each person s unique perception of the world causes many social conflicts due to individuals perceiving and responding to things opposite from their peers. In order to better understand myself and others, I turned to the reliable, comprehensive Jung typology test developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Briggs Myers. This test is based on the work of famous early twentieth century psychologist Carl Jung. The test determines one s personality type based on four parameters an introverted/extraverted scale, an intuition/sensing scale, a feeling/thinking scale, and a judging/perceiving scale. By answering a series of questions aimed at determining specific behavioral functions and dispositions, the applicant is given four letters corresponding with the four parameters to represent his or her personality. Sixteen letter combinations representing sixteen different personalities are possible. After taking multiple typology tests offered by various websites and sifting through the often conflicting results, I concluded that I am an ENFJ personality type. First, I took the test offered by Humanmetrics, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It does not pass through editors and publishers who all take a portion of the profits from the author. If you can write and are an expert on something, you can write an eBook and sell it online. • 50. Timken Executive Summary From our DCF calculations, the value of Torrington as a stand alone entity is $1.181 billion. However, the maximum purchase price for Torrington should only be $641 million. The optimum debt amount for this transaction would be $301 million. This amount of debt would result in a total debt to capital ratio for Torrington of 47%, within the range for a BBB investment grade debt rating. The combined entities, Torrington Timken, would produce an interest coverage ratio of 3.2, and a debt ratio of 45%, again within the range for a BBB debt rating. The purchase would likely be a cash transaction. History Founded by carriage maker Henry Timken in 1899 in St. Louis, Missouri, the Timken Company was ... Because of the lack of related information given in the case, and the often large differences in measures amongst competitors, different capital structures, internal management strategies, there remained many unknowns in our model. (Please see exhibits) DCF Model Based on information given, we established the free cash flows from operations for Torrington, for the period 1999 to 2007. We made the assumption that net working capital was 7% of sales for Torrington, based on historic patterns. From this assumption, we found Change in Net Working Capital for the selected years.
